Chapter 4: The Stream Savior, Skara's Story and the Moon
Within the Cyberworld, a swarm of Canodumb Viruses were firing everywhere. Explosions of pixels went off with each shot they sent before Mettaurs and Billies charged in after the attack.
Watching from a distance stood a familiar black and green female figure, her visor covering her eyes. Her Navi Crest depicting a green flame, she grinned at the damage being done.
"Dr. D, I'm not sure why we're bothering with this city, but it's working to draw attention away from your business," Shego said. "But be ready for the old 'I told you so' when a NetSavior comes to show up."
At that moment, several shots came and took out the Canodumb Viruses, Deleting them instantly. Shego growled before a grenade went towards the Billies, blinding them as several more shots were sent.
"Don't say it, Shego!"
"I. Told. You. So." Shego remarked as a camouflage-colored NetNavi with a rifle for an arm jumped down to take on the rest of the remaining Viruses. She scoffed and digitized away.
"Shego, Logging Out."
"She's gone, but that leaves us to you," SearchMan said, noticing Shego disappearing before focusing on the Viruses again. "Raika, no need for Battle Chips. This is gonna be too easy. Search Shot!"
The Viruses all charged, but were taken out by a burst shot from SearchMan's Scope Blaster, all in one hit. As soon as they were, the main system server went from red back to its normal blue safe state.
"Good work, SearchMan," Raika said in the real world, back in the Human Realm, in Gravesfield. "Return, and we can be on our way to DenTech to meet up with Lan."
"SearchMan, Logging Out."
"Doesn't it seem strange to you though, Raika?" SearchMan asked as Raika looked to see Camila walking towards a nearby Chip Shop. "From what Chief Kiefer told us, Gravesfield should have been kept under a heavy security system. Set up by that talented girl you saved during Dr. Regal's attack, at that."
"Yeah. Her name was Luz Noceda," Raika said. "I heard of a lot of her successes. She was doing well to help us, for a civilian."
"You're not gonna let that down, are you?" SearchMan asked.
"Just tell Monique that she can come and take over while I make my way to DenTech City," Raika replied. "You did book that flight, right?"
"They're held up because of some sort of technical problem," SearchMan replied as Raika passed by the junkyard, where he heard something. "Next one won't be until tomorrow," he went on before Raika went to investigate the sound. "Raika? Did you hear me?"
"Is someone there?" Raika asked, looking around, only to hear some more clattering noises.
"Seriously, they call this garbage? I can make a fortune with these things alone!"
"You hear that too, SearchMan?" Raika asked.
"Yeah, and the workers are off today from all the scrapping," SearchMan said. "Plus that Hopkins maniac was banned from here."
"Okay, that should be it. Let's go."
Raika turned a pile, but pulled himself back. Turning carefully, he saw Eda with a pile of random garbage, all cleaned. Snapping her fingers, she got the cloth that the items were all on top of to lift and turn into a sack. Grabbing it and throwing it over her shoulder, she took out the portal key and clicked it, getting the portal door to open up.
"Well, best make sure my Navi isn't idling," Eda said as Raika snuck closer. "Now let's see what Luz is up to with those nerds."
"Wait, did she say Luz?" SearchMan asked.
"Camila did say that she wasn't answering her PET at the camp," Raika said, now close enough to touch the portal as Eda walked through. "My flight won't be ready for a while. Right now, I need to see what this is all about." He said before going after Eda, right as the portal door closed.
In the MagiNet, Azura was watching as several Swordy and Spikey Viruses were charging at her. She narrowed her eyes and tightened the grip on her MagiBuster.
"Okay, let's do this…" Azura said before stepping back, letting three Normal Navis walk forward. "Time to see what you can do, newbies."
Each Normal NetNavi looked the same, save for their colors and their Navi Crests. One of them was red with silver accents with a music note as her Navi Crest. The other had a mirror symbol, with a blade showing a reflected version of it on the other side of a wall, as his Navi Crest, and had blue armor. The last one had a green flower symbol for a Navi Crest with a matching color for armor.
"You all ready?" Luz asked from inside of the Owl House. In front of her was her Progress PET, showing the Viruses, while in front of the screen in front of her were Willow, Skara and Gus, all with their new Scroll PETs at the ready and with piles of Battle Chips in front of them.
"Yeah, Luz," Skara said. "Shame the rest of our NetNavis aren't ready yet, though. How long until the remaining discs do their work?"
"Give it until later tonight. They take sooner when it's just one, but seeing as how ShadeMan most likely has an army ready, we need to be as ready as can be," Luz said. "Remember, if the Viruses become too much for these Normal Navis that came with your Scroll PET upgrades, Azura can step in."
"We'll make sure not to disappoint you," Willow said as she reached for a Battle Chip from her pile. Looking to it, she nodded before turning her Scroll PET on its side, getting the screen to rotate with it. "AirShot, Battle Chip In, Download!"
Willow's Navi gained an AirShot arm and aimed it at the Viruses. However, instead of firing at them, they aimed at ground, getting several panels to shoot up air, causing most of them to be sent back.
"One of the more simple Battle Chips put to its best. Nice work, Willow!" Azura complimented.
"Let me have a go too!" Gus exclaimed, reaching for a Battle Chip while Skara went for two. "Try some of this FireTower, Battle Chip in and download!"
"And a little bit of Fanfare to help us out too. Battle Chip in, download!" Skara called out, placing the Fanfare Battle Chip in as well before slotting in the next one. "Pulsar, Battle Chip In, Download!"
Gus's NetNavi slammed his arm down, sending out a FireTower attack that took out seven of the Swordys before the Spikeys breathed fire at them. However, a Trumpy Virus appeared behind the three and started to sound off, getting auras to glow for each of them. The attacks hit, and they remained unaffected.
"Nice touch, Skara," Luz said as Skara smiled in the real world. "I see someone did their homework."
"What can I say? I look through everything." Skara replied, shrugging with a smile on her face.
"Pulsar!" Skara's NetNavi called out, sending forth several sonic blasts from her arm that stunned the rest of the Viruses, allowing for Willow's NetNavi to charge in.
"WideSword, Battle Chip In, Download!"
As soon as Willow slotted the Battle Chip in, the WideSword appeared over her NetNavi's arm. They ran and took out the rest of the Viruses, Deleting each of them with a single strike each. As soon as they were gone, Azura walked up and clapped.
"Nice work," Azura said before spinning her MagiBuster and shooting behind her, revealing a remaining Swordy preparing to AreaSteal. When it was hit, it digitized away as well. "Missed one, but overall, not too shabby."
"Thanks, Azura," Willow said. "We all had to look through every Battle Chip. I guess we've still got a way to go before we can take them on all by ourselves."
"Still, good work," Luz said as King had stars in his eyes, also watching the battle unfold. "Log out now, and I'll meet you all later on."
"Time to go, my new little man." Gus said as he, Skara and Willow all pressed their Navi Crests on their Scroll PETs.
"NetNavis, Logging Out."
"Azura, Logging Out."
"Well, looks like everything was a success here," Eda said, walking down, slapping one detached arm in a bucket of soap and water before putting it back on and doing the same with the other. "You didn't get anything dirty, and you got to fighting on your own against those Virus things. Shame my own isn't ready yet."
"Get what you needed from the Human Realm?" Luz asked.
"Yeah, enough for the shop when I set up next time," Eda said as behind her, Raika was sneaking through, listening in on everything. "Let me tell you, everything I found should get enough witches and demons paying to put money on the table for all of us to split."
"A smuggler, I see." Raika said to himself.
"Well, I'll see you all later!" Luz called out as Skara, Willow and Gus all walked out. She turned to Eda as she put her hand back on. However, as soon as she reached the bottom of the steps, her expression changed, one from happiness to one of concern. "Wait a minute…"
"I feel it too, Kid." Eda said, turning around and letting out her staff. However, Owlbert was not attached to it.
"Who's there?!" Luz called out, taking out her Slash Grip and letting a CyberSword Blade appear from her Progress PET, aiming it outwards.
"What?" Raika asked before Owlbert's eyes glowed. He turned to see him before he flew down, forcing him to jump back. However, the moment he did, Eda sent forth a spell circle, causing a net to fall over him as he fell to the ground.
"Weh?" King asked, scurrying over to see Raika as he tried to get free. "Who's this?"
"You're one to talk, fox." Raika spat.
"Wait, Raika?!" Luz exclaimed, running over, much to Eda's confusion.
"I'm here! Where's the intruder?!" Hooty called, only for Eda to pinch his body.
"Settle down, Hooty. Don't eat him yet," Eda said. "If Luz knows him, we're good for the time being."
"No one's eating him!" Luz protested as she continued to make her way towards Raika. "I've got so many questions right now. Don't get me wrong, it's an honor to finally meet you, but… how?"
"Luz Noceda, right?" Raika asked as Luz cut him free. "Thank you for that," he said, feeling his wrists as Luz nodded in response to his question. "Last I heard from your mother and Chief Kiefer, you were at a camp near the forest area outside of M-Tech City, Colorado."
"Right, to get away from everything…" Luz said to herself while rubbing the back of her neck. "Listen, Raika, I know it all seems strange here, but don't… wait, scratch that," she said upon seeing the stern yet subtly surprised look on his face. "You don't freak out… ever."
"Really?" Eda asked. "Not even at Hooty here?"
"Yeah, that's a first." Hooty commented.
"I'm more curious as to why you named a bird-tube Hooty." Raika admitted.
"I gotta say, though, this is a surprise," SearchMan said in the MagiNet homepage of Azura. "There's actually a Cyberworld here."
"You'll get used to it all when I show you around," Azura said before holding her left hand out. "I'm Azura, Luz Noceda's NetNavi. I've been told a lot about you, SearchMan."
"A pleasure to meet you." SearchMan said, shaking Azura's hand.
"This could explain why your mother wasn't hearing anything when she tried to call your PET," Raika said back in the Owl House. "But the energy around us… it feels different than the one back on Earth."
"Listen, Raika, there's an explanation for why I'm not back in the Human Realm when there's literally a door that can take me there and back, and I'll explain it right now," Luz said before she heard a knock at the door. She turned and saw that since Hooty extended himself inside, the door was open, and Amity was there, looking at Luz and Raika with a shocked and confused look on her face. "Amity!" she exclaimed, walking up to her new friend.
"Is now a bad time?" Amity asked, trying to suppress a blush at Luz coming so close to her. "I found myself drawing out what my NetNavi would look like so I could give it to you when you left the Owl House, but I got so excited that I couldn't wait."
"No problem, I can take care of that," Luz said, taking the papers that Amity handed over to her. "But I'll need your Scroll in order for this to be done."
"Sure thing," Amity said, handing her Scroll over to Luz after summoning it. "Who's your new friend?"
"Long story," Luz said, taking out her bronze-rimmed Extension Chip and placing it into the slot of Amity's Scroll. It started to float, with the screen turning on to show several programs being run. "I'll explain it after you wait with Raika. I just need to get my equipment to help make this process go faster."
"Okay, thanks." Amity said, walking over next to Raika, who was looking at what was being done curiously.
"I'm lost here," Raika said as Luz walked up the stairs to get her laptop. "What's going on here?"
"You weren't here when ShadeMan attacked?" Amity asked.
"What?!" Raika exclaimed. "That can't be right. ShadeMan was Deleted by Dr. Regal a year ago."
"Not unless you, I think he called it, backed himself up on several servers?" King said, walking up. "He knew he was going to be killed, so he did that and escaped through one of the servers in Luz's home town."
"It took me, Luz's friends, Miss Eda and Luz all to take him down," Amity went on before noticing Raika's ears. "You're a human."
"I take it from the way your ears are, round ones are a sign of that?" Raika asked.
"Mostly, yes," Eda said, sitting down and setting up cards for her and Owlbert as he was given his own set. "Luz really changed things a lot since she came here."
"So I've heard," Raika said as Luz came back down, getting him to immediately turn to her. "Tell me everything about this new ShadeMan incident."
At the new Palace of Darkness, ShadeMan was on his new throne, looking at all of the new Dark Chips that were being made. He turned as GrandeurMan digitized in, now with two female Darkloids behind him.
"Master," GrandeurMan said. "You will be pleased to know that I have now added these two former witches to our army. Formerly known as Roselle and Dottie, we have used the Cat Coven Dark Chips to turn them into our first female Darkloids. They only await their new names."
"We serve you now, Master ShadeMan." The Darkloid that was once Roselle said, to which Dottie nodded.
"You may rise… Bella," ShadeMan said, getting the former Roselle to stand up. "And Donna, the twin Belladonna Darkloids." He finished, getting the former Dottie to rise up as well, their appearances soon starting to change afterwards.
"Am I to assume you are pleased with my further work?" GrandeurMan asked, still bowing.
"Yes, I am," ShadeMan said. "Add them to the rest of the Darkloids to be deployed. I want to make sure my next candidate is ready," he said, looking to a screen that showed an Oracle track student, angrily tossing her crystal ball to the ground. "After that demon and witch festivity, she seems to be quite open for my power." He said with a grin. A Dark Chip with the Oracle Coven symbol on it appeared before it digitized away.
"Where could I go wrong?!" the Oracle student complained at her house, picking up the crystal ball again. "Amity Blight was supposed to come out on top, not that Noceda human! I'm never wrong when it comes to the future! Everything's ruined!"
"Then it is time for that to change."
"That voice… no!"
The witch gasped as ShadeMan appeared before her. As she backed away, the Oracle Dark Chip hovered over her, and soon activated. She yelled as the dark navy energy surged through her, giving her a black bodysuit with purple armor. She gained a helmet that resembled that of a gypsy, her crystal ball floating around her, now transformed as well and with a purple aura around it. A blast went to her forehead, and as soon as a Navi Crest of an eye with a fan behind it appeared on her chest, she opened not her two eyes, but now three, the third now on the forehead.
"You're right," the former Oracle Track student said with a grin as she flexed her fingers, seeing eyes appear on her palms as well before a pack in the shape of a chatterbox origami appeared on her back, split into two equal parts. "There does need to be a change, and my predictions alone under your guidance can help me to become the only one to alter the fates in our favor… Master ShadeMan."
"Excellent first choice of words… Pandora," ShadeMan said as the former witch, now Pandora, chuckled. "For those words of devotion on your moment of rebirth, I allow you the chance to spread the fear of the Darkloids throughout this… MagiNet, and the Demon Realm itself."
"I shall require a Dark Chip to boost my power," Pandora said. "There is something that I must power it with to further advance our conquest… something from a major player from the Covention."
Back at the Owl House, Amity was looking at Luz's laptop screen, trying to make sense of everything that was going across as her Scroll was still floating next to it, being converted still.
"I want to help out Luz any way I can, but I also want to experience that thrill that I felt when fighting her and ShadeMan at the Covention," Amity said to herself. "Having a NetNavi partner of my own is something that I never knew I always wanted, and you've never made me feel more free in my whole life," she went on, looking to a picture of Luz in the background. "I need this all. It's gonna make everything better… I'm sure of it." She said before turning and making her way towards where Luz was talking to Raika while Eda was playing some sort of card game with Owlbert.
"So that's all we know so far," Azura said to SearchMan in the MagiNet. "Everything we've found out about ShadeMan and these new Darkloids that he's gathered so far."
"So I've been shown from this recording," Raika said, seeing many of the recordings taken of the battle against ShadeMan from the Covention. "This is trouble. We're dealing with a streak of our own with Neo Nebula and Asteroid Navis back in our world, and this just adds to it all."
"Neo Nebula is still at it?" Luz asked.
"Yes, and they attack at random," Raika said as Amity came over. "I should probably stay and determine the threat of the situation, so I can let the rest of the NetSaviors know."
"If other humans find out about the Demon Realm, you know that there will be those who will try to exploit it for their own uses." Luz said.
"I can try to not make the existence of this public," Raika said. "But if what you said is true, then hopefully, you and Azura can keep it under control. I can imagine that ShadeMan would want to have a go at Dr. Regal's protégé if he got access to the door that I saw take Miss Eda to the Human Realm and back."
"Speaking of, what are you even doing?" Luz asked as she turned to see Eda's cards coming to life and slaughtering Owlbert's.
"Hexes Hold Em. The best card game for all ages in the Boiling Isles," Eda said. "And I get a chance to win every time," she said with a grin. "I love the feeling of victory. It feels satisfying, rewarding, fluffy…" she said before pausing on the last one. "Why do I feel fluffy?"
"Eda, your arms!" Luz exclaimed, pointing to Eda's arms as grey feathers appeared.
"Stay back!" Raika warned, placing his arm protectively in front of Luz, only to bump into Amity as she tried to do the same.
"Your curse is acting up!" King exclaimed, causing Eda to scream upon seeing the feathers. Calming down a little, she went to a cabinet, only to find it empty before searching around in other places.
"I'm all out of Elixirs!" Eda panicked before seeing her necklace. "Will this advance the NetNavi production, Luz?" she asked.
"I told you, it's not a cure, not a definite one!" Luz replied, pushing past Raika and Amity as they both tried to keep her safe. "Granted, it will put more progress into creating your own NetNavi, but it doesn't stop you from turning into this." She said, pulling out her PET to show a recording of Eda as the Owl Beast.
"I know I should be worried, but that's a fierce look." Eda said, smirking at the screen, only for Luz to slap her hand away before nearly slapping her face, only stopping when Eda gave her a look.
"Sorry, but focus," Luz said. "Remember what happened when that inner demon tried last time, I don't want to repeat that again."
"What did she do?" Raika asked before noticing something in Amity's green hair. "Your hair isn't naturally green." He realized.
"Can we focus, plea—?" Amity started, but noticed her hair in a nearby mirror. "My roots are showing."
"Let's focus on Eda first," Luz said, turning to the two green-haired teens before looking to Eda. "You have to get your elixirs from someone, right? I mean, I see you mixing up a lot of stuff, and I know they're not the usual elixir."
"There's a guy at the market," Eda said, putting on a cloak to cover her head. "Come on. No time to lose. You two, Raika."
Raika just shrugged. "You'll need a bodyguard." He said, walking to Eda while Amity made her way to Luz.
"How long would you give my Scroll before I get my NetNavi?" Amity asked.
"A few more hours," Luz replied as everyone walked out. "You think you can stay for that long? I know you must want to use your Scroll as soon as possible."
"Sure, I've cleared my schedule," Amity said before looking to Raika. "So, he's got a NetNavi too?"
"From the Human Realm," Luz replied. "He's an awesome person. Rough around the edges when you first meet him, but he warms up to you."
"What should I know about a Demon Realm market?" Raika asked Eda and King, the latter riding on the former's shoulder.
"You try not to attract too much attention to yourself. No one wants the Emperor's Coven to get involved with you," Eda said. "But then again, people are still reeling from seeing ShadeMan from a few days back, so seeing you would be the least of their new worries."
"And remember not to look at it." King added.
"It being…?" Raika trailed.
"Any of it." King replied, letting Eda fall behind to stay in between Raika, Luz and Amity.
Soon, the group arrived in the market. Raika took a moment to look around at everything, seeing Demons of different kinds interacting with other witches. Some of them took notice of him, just as King said, but did not mind him as much and went back to what they were doing.
"So, Raika was born with natural green hair?" Amity whispered to Luz.
"Yeah, a lot of people where I come from either dyed their hair or were born with a different than usual color," Luz replied. "He say something about yours?"
"It's… complicated." Amity said as Eda went up to a stand that had a sign reading Mr. Elixir over it.
"Morton, open up!" Eda called, banging on the door.
"Uh, wait… j-just a minute!" Morton was heard calling back, followed by some clattering noises.
"Hey, look over there." King said, pointing to a mansion that was being put for sale.
"Eda, did anyone live there?" Luz asked.
"Huh? Oh, I don't know," Eda said, looking to the mansion. "But if I had to guess, it could have formerly belonged to that Adegast guy that became GrandeurMan," she said before seeing several animals being guided by the Beast-Keeping Coven to their owners. "There used to be a shop down the direction where those pets are coming from. I guess ShadeMan must have gotten them too."
"I'll ask more about that later," Raika said before seeing several Witches hauling away a cage with a large creature in it, wielding whips, swords, and other kinds of weapons. "I take it poaching has no end here too."
"Those would be Demon Hunters," Eda said. "They capture demons they feel have any value and sell them on the market. The guy who leads them, right there?" she went on, pointing to a witch with a fur collar coat and talons decorating his exposed skin areas. "They call him Wild Jango. Took over the old leader, a sick guy who doesn't even spare children when it comes to taking wild beasts," she said as Wild Jango turned to the group, getting Luz to take out her PET with her Shot Grip attached to send a warning shot to him. He snarled and took off with the rest of the witches as Eda turned back to the stand. "Which is what I'll be if you don't open up!" she called.
Soon, the stand opened, and a teen witch with a funnel for his head, as well as pale skin, brown eyes with matching short hair and a lanky build appeared.
"Sorry, Eda," Morton said, rubbing the back of his neck as everyone turned to him. "I was testing some poisons on myself last night, and for some reason, I'm not feeling all that great."
"You just said why you're sick." Raika pointed out.
"You did." Luz chimed in,
"Yep." Amity added.
"Kids, stop questioning my seller, and go mind your own business. I need my special juice." Eda said before turning to Morton to gesture at her feathers.
"You're not bothering, don't worry," Morton called out as Luz and Amity walked off, leaving Raika to watch over Eda and King. "Let me have a look for your stuff."
"Is it always like this?" Amity asked.
"More or less," Luz said before seeing Willow, Gus and Skara. "Hey, guys!" she called out, running over to them with Amity behind her.
The trio was now out of their school uniforms and were wearing some more casual attire. Willow had on a brown and tan dress with grey striped leggings and brown boots. Gus wore a blue top divided by a pink belt with light blue sleeves and faded blue cuffs, as well as dark pants and brown boots. Skara was wearing a red shirt that had a music note on it covered by a ruby jacket, as well as a red collar, a silver belt, black pants and dark-red boots. Floating next to all of them were their Scroll PETs.
Upon hearing Luz, they turned to her before spotting Amity with her.
"Luz!" Willow called as Luz and Amity stopped a few centimeters before them. "Amity too, I see." She noticed, trying to keep a calm face.
"Look, whatever you have going on, it can hold," Skara said. "We fight each other, we won't stand a chance against ShadeMan when he attacks next."
"I think he got the owners of that pet shop that Eda told me about," Luz said. "And they've already closed up the place where that Adegast guy used to live in."
"How about we talk about something else?" Gus asked. "Something that doesn't get us to worry about another attack or abduction."
"Amity!"
Everyone turned to see the three-eyed girl from the Covention storm over. With her were a witch with green hair and Hexside clothes to signify she was a part of the Plant Track like Willow while the other had dark skin, glasses and black hair, with colors to show she was part of the Healing Track, which Luz recognized from her time healing after fighting ShadeMan.
"Boscha, stop right there," Amity said, getting the trio to stop. "What's going on?"
"You haven't been answering any of my texts about the Conjuring," Boscha said. "Cat and Amelia have been waiting for a response from you after you supposedly cancelled the whole thing."
"I did," Amity said. "You would be the only ones benefitting from being at my house. I'd hate it the whole time."
"Hanging out with these losers is supposed to be an improvement?!" Boscha yelled before glaring at Skara. "Traitor…" she snarled.
"You know exactly why I left you, Boscha," Skara said, walking next to Amity and crossing her arms. "And where's Penelope? Doesn't she hang out with you?"
"Uh, she didn't respond to any of us after the Covention," the green witch, Amelia, said. "We thought she was with you."
"Amelia, what did we say about addressing traitors?" Boscha asked.
"These 'traitors' took down ShadeMan," Luz said, stepping up as Amity and Skara parted ways for her. "I didn't see you leaping in with them to help send him running."
"You think you're tough with that fancy armor when you fought, Human," Boscha sneered. "If you didn't have that, Amity would have beaten you… and I would still have my way with Willow!"
"A deal was a deal, Boscha," Luz said. "Don't take this on Amity. Her power is her own, not yours."
"You hear that?" Boscha asked, strolling to get a bit closer in front of Luz as she pointed to Amity. "Her power," she reiterated before glaring at Luz. "She's been with us for a longer time than she has with you," she said before her right hand's fingers twitched, sparks forming from them. "Sounds to me like you've made her soft." She accused.
Everyone looked on before Luz raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?" she asked, reaching for her Progress PET, still with the Shot Grip attached. "Does that mean I'm soft without my armor?" she questioned.
Cautiously, Willow, Amity, Gus and Skara all moved back a bit while other witches and demons who noticed what was happening stopped what they were doing to watch.
Boscha chuckled as her fingers twitched even more. Luz just kept a straight face as she held her hand over her Progress PET, with Azura watching everything unfold from the MagiNet.
Pandora, who was watching everything unfold the moment the Owl House inhabitants, Raika and Amity arrived, even found herself being drawn in on the showdown.
Cat and Amelia gritted their teeth anxiously as they saw Boscha slowly draw a circle with her finger, Luz still keeping a straight face.
Soon, Boscha lifted up her hand to complete the circle, but Luz was the first to draw, taking out her Progress PET with the Shot Grip, and shot her hand, causing the magic circle to cancel out and Boscha to clutch her hand, seething in anger.
Eda, King, Raika and Morton watched from afar, seeing what had just unfolded to take a break from their deal.
Amelia and Cat both gasped and ran to Boscha's aid while Willow, Gus, Skara and Amity all aimed spell circles at them, with Luz keeping her PET drawn.
"And that's without my so-called 'fancy armor'," Luz said. "Now if you know what's good for you, Boscha, don't bully us again, unless you can back up what you say."
"This isn't over, Human!" Boscha snarled as she ran off. Cat and Amelia looked to each other, then back to the group with nervous smiles on their faces, before chasing after Boscha.
"We'll hear from them again, you know." Azura said.
"She should have known better before knowing what we're capable of," Luz said. "That shot wasn't fatal, but it will make the point known to her that we are not to be messed around with."
"That was… intense." Amity said.
"What were they talking about?" Luz asked, turning back as the witches and demons around them went back to what they were doing. "What conjuring thing did Boscha mean?"
"Well, do you have sleepovers in the Human Realm?" Amity asked, getting a nod from Luz. "It's like that, but at a Moonlight Conjuring, everyone brings to life an object with the celestial power of the moon, for that night and that night alone. At maximum, it takes three people to bring the chosen object to life."
"Well, I'm glad there's five of us. Nine, counting our NetNavis." Luz said.
"You'd do it with us?" Willow asked.
"Boscha has her posse to do it with at anywhere they please," Luz said. "And from what I've been told," she went on, turning back to Amity. "You weren't gonna have much fun if they did it at your place."
"Trust me, doing this NetNavi stuff is way more exciting after fighting you and ShadeMan at the Covention," Amity said. "If you're holding a Conjuring, I'm there! Plus, you still have my Scroll, and I'm very eager to see how my NetNavi turns out."
"You're making one for Amity too?" Gus asked.
"For all my friends," Luz said before turning to Eda, King and Raika, still talking with Morton. "Let's break the news to Eda."
"Who's the guy in green and dark-green?" Skara asked before seeing his ears. "Another human?"
"He doesn't plan on staying for long," Luz said. "He's got business back in the Human Realm, fighting their own Darkloids and Cyberworld threats."
"They'll both be in the same place for what I'm prepared to do… but I can't do it alone," Pandora said before looking down the street to see Wild Jango still with the Demon Hunters. She grinned and took out a Dark Chip with the Beast-Keeping symbol on it. "You'll do." She said, AreaStealing away.
"What do you mean, you don't have my elixir?" Eda asked, more feathers showing on her, as Raika looked on, concerned.
"I didn't have any ready in time for you to suddenly come here," Morton reasoned. "But seriously, E. You can't just wait this long for an order and expect it to appear out of nowhere."
"Don't you have another alternative?" Raika finally spoke up as Luz and her friends arrived. "You might be her top buyer, but I'm sure that even you know other potions dealers that sell a similar elixir."
"See?" Eda asked, a grin appearing. "You do know business!"
"There's a guy at the night market, now that you mention it," Morton said. "His name, from what other potions dealers say, is Grimm Hammer. Find him, and there's a chance he'll have a fully-ready set of elixirs that I make too. If not, then I should have at least half of the usual batch ready by tomorrow evening."
"I'll take what I can get, but remember, you're my top seller." Eda said as Morton went back and closed the doors, the sound of him groaning once more coming from behind the closed shop.
"That's what he gets for experimenting on himself." King mused.
"For once, I agree," Raika said before turning to Luz. "Should I assume that the girl you shot started that whole scene?" he asked.
"Yeah, Boscha started it," Luz replied. "If she's smart, she won't bother or bully us again."
"Well, if you're done shooting kids, which I hope not, then…" Eda started before noticing condescending looks coming from Luz and Raika. "Disregard that message," she said quickly before clearing her throat again. "Luz, you're in charge of the house tonight. I've got to head off to the night market for more elixirs."
"Can my friends and I have a Moonlight Conjuring?" Luz asked. "Amity canceled hers with Boscha, and she has to stay anyways until her NetNavi is ready."
"She can stay, but a Conjuring?" Eda said before letting out a scoff. "Baby magic. All you do is sit around and hold hands to bring something to life. You can already make people feel alive by bringing famous NetBattles to life."
"And what good would that still be if we're just teaching and not mingling with others?" Azura chimed in as Luz's holographic screen from her PET turned on.
"You know, I hate to admit it, but she's right," SearchMan said as well, activating the holographic screen from Raika's own PET. "I may not know much about how things work in the Demon Realm, but you do need to make more friends and let loose."
"SearchMan…" Raika said, irritated.
"You know what, good points from your Navis," Eda said. "Knock yourselves out. I need King with me anyways to be an extra set of eyes."
"I'm gonna steal everything that's not nailed down!" King bragged.
"Not unless you get arrested saying that out loud." Skara snarked.
At the same time, Wild Jango was looking over several new postings of demons for him and the rest of the Hunters to hunt down and sell.
"A lot of good choices… but not enough money to take from it all," Wild Jango said, kicking a can angrily. "I need a real challenge!"
"But we've gotten the best of the best so far!" another Demon Hunter pointed out.
"Don't stop until we've hit the mother load!" Wild Jango yelled.
"Then prepare to halt."
All of the Demon Hunters gasped before Pandora appeared to them. Letting her third eye open, the Dark Chip shot at Wild Jango, causing him to scream. As he was, armor appeared over him. He gained a helmet with fangs at the sides, claws to replace his normal hands, talons on his boots, spiked quills on his back, and gold eyes that replaced his blue ones. When the Dark Chip finally took full effect, he snarled, much to the shock of the rest of the Demon Hunters before they started to be transformed by the excess Dark Chip energy.
"So, this is your plan?"
Pandora grinned as ShadeMan appeared next to her. She turned and bowed, as did the former leader of the Demon Hunters. Now, there were feral versions of the Demon Hunters in place of the crew, each with features of random Viruses on them and wielding different weapons.
"I present to you the ultimate savage Darkloid of the Demon Realm… FeralMan." Pandora said as Wild Jango bowed.
"I am at your service, Master ShadeMan." FeralMan said in a guttural voice.,
"Good," ShadeMan said. "And you require him to accomplish your mission?"
"It will be too easy to do now," Pandora said. "Tonight, we Darkloids will feast! All witches and demons alike shall cower before us and our new power! Tonight… we strike!"
Hours later, night had fallen. While Amity had to stay for her full Scroll conversion and Navi completion to finish, everyone else arrived, still with their casual attire from earlier. Raika watched them settle in before turning to Eda, walking with her towards the door.
"And what are you doing?" Eda asked.
"Third set of eyes," Raika said as Luz and Willow watched on, with Gus and Skara watching over N1 Grand Prix NetBattles. "Think of me as your bodyguard."
"Touching, but King's got my back. Stay here with the rest of the kids," Eda reassured before turning to Luz. "Now remember. Clean up whatever you bring to life, make sure nothing breaks, keep everyone in line, and watch over Hooty. Break any one rule, and I'm gonna find legal ways to have you ex…" she started before seeing another condescending look from Raika, getting her to gulp. "Extra busy with chores." She quickly corrected herself.
"Don't worry," Luz said. "Just be sure to get your elixirs."
"And you have fun… bye~!" Eda called, letting Owlbert spread his wings and take her and King off to the Night Market.
"Flying on a staff instead of a broom… I've almost seen it all." Raika said.
"You're still skeptical about magic here, aren't you?" Luz asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Show me Baba Yaga, and I'll be a believer," Raika said before looking to everyone else. "So, what do you do with them that can help in this new Darkloid problem?" he asked.
"See what's floating next to them all?" Luz asked, pointing to each of the three Scroll PETs. "Those are the personal devices of witches and demons here, known as Scrolls. By using my special Extension Chip, I was able to convert them into the Demon Realm PETs, the Scroll PETs. NetNavis for each of them are still being made."
"I knew you were smart, but this is a whole other level," Raika said as Amity walked over. "If only you could help out the NetSaviors with the trouble we're facing now."
"Thanks for letting me be here, Luz," Amity said. "Truth be told, Boscha and her friends would usually just do whatever they want if I still had the Conjuring at my house. I'd be bored the whole time. It's never the same unless I'm with people I like to actually have around."
"Do your parents know about that?" Luz asked as Willow went to join Gus and Skara in watching the NetBattles.
"The less you know about them, the better, especially my mother. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if I heard from her during our Conjuring," Amity said before feeling her hair. "Raika's right, you know. This isn't my natural color, and I honestly hate it."
"Well, set yourself free, then," Luz said. "You're your own person, and nothing can change that."
"Luz, these NetBattles are incredible!" Gus squealed as everyone watched the NetBattle between MegaMan and ProtoMan against BlasterMan and StoneMan. "There have to be dozens of NetBattlers in your world!"
"Trust me, this is only a small handful before celebrities like Kim Possible became major NetBattlers on Lan's level," Luz said as everyone turned to her. "You all still have yet to learn about Lan and MegaMan, don't you?"
"You do mention him a lot," Willow said. "But you never went into complete detail about him or MegaMan."
"It's quite a long story, and I want to make sure that we have enough time for the Conjuring." Luz said as she switched off the recordings to show Azura with the Normal Navis of Willow, Gus and Skara.
"Well, we've got enough time. Take as long as you want, because the latest we do the Conjuring, the better the results will be." Skara said.
Luz looked to Raika, who nodded at her. She smiled and took a deep breath. "Okay," she said. "Well, it all started in the town where I now live adjacent to, DenTech City. In the Human Realm, there are a lot of NetBattlers, all who started from humble beginnings, and Lan was no exception," she started. "It happened after a NetBattle with his former rival turned best friend, Dex Ogreon…"
About half an hour passed from then, and now, Gus, Amity, Willow and Skara were drawn in as Luz was telling them all of the known adventures that Lan had had with MegaMan.
"He was standing there, armed with only two Battle Chips left, and went all out on LaserMan," Luz said, now recalling the recording that was taken from when Lan and MegaMan made their final stand against Dr. Regal and LaserMan. "He pushed him back with little to no effort. And with a Charge Shot, took both of them down!"
"After that, Dr. Regal was no more, and LaserMan was too," Azura went on. "We later learned, though, that he had a protégé and an assassin who were to carry out Nebula in his absence, and that's been one of the new threats of the NetSaviors and NetPolice since last year."
"They really sound amazing!" Skara squealed. "I can see why you're a fan of them now."
"I had never even met him. He became my true hero ever since that day," Luz said, still remembering how she saw Lan and MegaMan take on Dr. Regal and LaserMan. A somber expression appeared on her face then. "And it was that… that made me into the kind of person I want to be. Someone who will do anything to make sure the world becomes a safe place for everyone, human and Navi alike."
"Well, you won't have to do it alone," Amity reassured as Raika nodded, having sat down on a chair nearby. "You'll have us by your side when we take the fight to ShadeMan."
"Thanks," Luz said before hearing a pinging sound. "That's yours!" she realized, seeing the laptop with Amity's Scroll now changing its appearance. "Raika, think you can help Amity out? I can guide her once you show her how her new PET works."
"I'll at least get it disconnected," Raika said. "It's a new PET, so something so unfamiliar should be handled by you."
"Why with Raika, though?" Amity asked.
"Well, I still want to make sure the Moonlight Conjuring can happen, and I feel that six—"
"Five only. I'm not holding hands and doing magic." Raika said.
"Five people… would be too much," Luz said, correcting herself before turning to Willow. "What do we have to do?"
"First, we need to pick something to bring to life," Willow said, looking to a plant on a table with a smile on her face. "Something beautiful… something… meaningful."
"What about Azura?" Skara chimed in.
"Wait, me?" Azura asked, a blush appearing on her face. "I mean, I'm flattered, but I'm not sure it'll work, Skara."
"What are you getting at?" Willow asked as nearby, Gus, who had taken an action figure, put it away after hearing what Skara had suggested.
"Well, what if we brought her to the real world?" Skara suggested. "Think about it. Everyone else can animate anything on a Moonlight Conjuring, but can they bring someone to life when it isn't a Wailing Star?"
"Which is…?" Luz asked.
"You'll find out eventually," Willow said. "Still, now that you say that, I'd like to give it a try," she said before turning to Luz. "If it's okay with you, that is."
Luz looked to Azura, picking up her Progress PET. "Well, what do you say?" she asked. "An ability to come to the real world and back at will?"
"You know, it would be quite the accomplishment," Azura said before clenching her fists with enthusiasm. "Let's go for it!"
Luz smiled before setting her Progress PET on the ground. She looked to Amity and Skara, who smiled back at her with support, before she sat on the ground cross-legged with Willow and Gus angled in a circle around Azura as her hologram displayed.
"This should be interesting." SearchMan said.
"Bringing a NetNavi to life," Raika said. "I'll have seen everything if they succeed."
"According to the Conjuring books I've read, we say the incantation and make a connection with Azura," Willow said. "Do it right, and she should be able to come out from the MagiNet and into our world."
"I'm so excited!" Azura squealed as Luz, Willow and Gus all took each others' hands.
"Moonlight, we call, we sing. Moonlight, take this chance. Moonlight, come tie the string. Moonlight, start the dance!"
As soon as the incantation was made, the moon glowed bright. Hooty, who was sleeping, gasped as he opened his eyes. They too glowed, with a blue color, before a wave spread throughout the Owl House.
"What is happening?" Raika asked, seeing all of the candles and lights around everyone start to diminish away.
"Did it work?" Luz asked, opening her eyes as she, Willow and Gus looked to her Progress PET. "Azura, you there?"
"Well… I'm not in the PET," Azura's voice said, startling everyone, causing them to jump. "But I don't know where I am now. Maybe it takes a few moments?"
"Did something maybe go wrong?" Skara asked before the entire house started to shake.
"Tell me earthquakes are normal here!" Raika called as the Owl House continued to rumble.
"I think… oh no!" Willow said with sudden realization.
"What? What is it?" Azura called.
"You didn't bring Azura to life…" Amity caught on as the house shifted again. "You animated the entire house!"
"What?!" Luz exclaimed, running to the door. However, before she could get further, she stopped upon catching herself almost falling off a ledge.
The Owl House was now risen above the ground, leaving a hole where it once was. Now, underneath the whole abode were two chicken-like legs. Without warning, they moved, and the whole Owl House shook.
"Whoa!" Luz exclaimed as everyone ran to grab onto something to prevent from falling off.
Luz ran and grabbed her Progress PET, but as she was making her way to the foyer, she tripped on the action figure Gus was admiring before. Slipping towards the still-open door, she struggled to grab onto the carpet to prevent from falling out.
"Luz!" Amity called, diving after her. Latching her foot onto a lamp, she took Luz's hand.
"Amity!" Luz exclaimed happily, but still felt herself sinking as the house continued to move.
"Hold on!" Raika called, taking off his jacket. He tossed it at Amity, who caught it by the sleeve.
"Pull!" Willow called as she summoned a vine from a nearby plant to wrap around her waist. She leapt down with Gus to grab onto Luz as well.
At that moment, once everyone came into contact with each other, with Skara helping Raika to pull up Amity and Luz, the blue glow spread to the six. Then, the door closed, and Luz found herself being lifted back as everyone worked together to pull them back up.
"What… what happened?" Luz asked. She turned around to see the door before letting out a gasp, followed by everyone else doing the same.
Standing before them all was Azura, holding out her MagiBuster as Hooty's speed decreased.
"Trust me, I'm as confused as you are," Azura said before looking out the window. "We gotta get Hooty to stop! We're heading towards a cliff!"
"¡Hooty, que pares alto! Stop" Luz called out, everyone still in contact with each other.
At that moment, Hooty came to a stop before he could walk off the cliff and into the river chasm below.
"How… how did you do that?" Raika asked, now shaken at what had just transpired while putting his jacket back on.
"We're controlling the Owl House with the power of the moon!" Willow exclaimed. "It started with just the three of us, but I think all of us together must have boosted the power somehow!"
"And that incantation was no bust either," Azura said. "I'm really out of the PET!" she exclaimed before digitizing away.
"Azura?!" Amity called, only for Luz to hear her PET beeping.
"Whoa, that didn't last lo—"
Azura did not get the chance to finish before digitizing again, now appearing back in the real world once more.
"It… it worked!" Luz exclaimed. "I think now, you can come and go to our world as you please!"
"Let's be cautiously optimistic and say it's just for the night," Azura said. "But now that I'm here, what else can we do?!" she asked giddily.
"We have got to show up Boscha," Amity said. "Knowing her history with these things, she would never have been able to animate a house or bring a NetNavi to life!"
"Then lead the way!" Azura cheered, getting Luz, Willow and Gus to hold hands again, leading the Owl House into the forest.
As this was happening, Eda and King were at the Night Market. While Eda carried King around in a baby carrier held onto a harness around her chest, she looked to her hand, seeing more feathers starting to show.
"The curse…" Eda said to herself before checking her PET, only to see the same progress as before for her NetNavi. "Luz, what am I missing here?"
"Maybe it only transfers to the Navi after you take an elixir?" King suggested.
"If that's the case, then there's no time to lose," Eda said before seeing someone sitting by some trash, with a mug by his side. She walked over and tossed in some snail coins. "There you go. Now, you know where a guy named Grimm Hammer is?"
The hermit nodded thankfully before pointing to a large tent. Eda smiled and nodded back before walking towards the tent.
However, Eda and King were unaware that someone was watching them from above. There stood GrandeurMan, eyeing Eda with envy. Clenching his fists, the flasks on his arms started to glow violently.
"I can't believe we have to go back to my place to do this!"
Skara gasped while the Owl House moved, getting Luz's attention. She turned to the Bard Witch and focused her attention in her direction, seeing Boscha with Amelia and Cat walking down a path through the forest nearby.
"Mrs. Blight wasn't all that happy that Amity canceled her plans for the Conjuring." Cat said.
"And she didn't even allow us in anyways," Boscha said. "If I get my hands on the human or Skara, I'm gonna… oh! Times like this, I wish murder were legal for kids our age!"
"Boscha…" Skara seethed, clenching her fists.
"Wow, I've never seen her so mad, and saying such stuff," Amity said before turning to Skara to see her anger. "We can turn back if you want."
"What exactly happened? If it's okay to ask?" Luz asked.
Skara took a deep breath and sighed, sitting down as everyone else turned to her.
"I used to hang out with Boscha, ever since we were kids," Skara said. "My family, the Capellas, were one of the wealthiest on the Boiling Isles, and we only knew each other; me, Boscha and Amity, through our parents. But as I was growing up, I came to like Willow, which became hard when that friendship ended for her and Amity."
"Yeah… that's a long story for me." Amity said shamefully.
"I was fine with what we did, hanging out, socializing… but I was never comfortable when it came to picking on others. Especially Willow," Skara went on. "She saw the worst in us when we picked on her, and eventually, that day came when I drew the line."
"You don't have to tell them if you're not comfortable with it," Willow said. "I know what it was like for you."
"No, I should tell them," Skara said, turning back to everyone else. "It was Boscha's birthday, and while she invited the rest of the former team I used to be captain of, the Banshees, she also invited Willow. I was curious why she did that, and then she revealed that she was only inviting her to dump spoiled Apple Blood onto her, which would take a long time to get out of her clothes, and even her skin."
"Sounds psychotic," Raika said. "And the way you describe it… almost like your version of tar and feathering."
"From what we've learned about it, it should have been called just that what Boscha wanted to do," Skara said, anger showing in her voice. "I could tell Amity didn't like it, and left the party. I thought she would tell Willow, but she didn't when she showed up. So, I did the only thing that my conscience was telling me."
"You stood up to Boscha." Azura realized.
"I did more than that," Skara said. "When she had Willow in position, she prepared to dump that stuff onto her, but I was drawing the line then and there. It didn't fall onto Willow… because I whistled a strong enough Bard manipulation spell to make it fall on Boscha, and I did it in clear view of her so that she could see the anger I had in my eyes."
"And it cost us all," Amity went on. "Because of Boscha's condition, she was put in the Healer's Ward for months, and we were forced to drop out from the tournament of that year. Boscha never forgave Skara, and when she got better, she took over as the Banshee Captain."
"She challenged you for the position?" Raika asked.
"No… I resigned," Skara said. "After that party, which Boscha claims to this day is the worst day of her life, I told Willow everything that was planned," she said, looking to Willow as her anger slowly disappeared, now starting to show a smile instead. "It took time for her to trust me, but I made sure I was there for her. Whenever she needed to vent, I would listen and offer advice. I even joined her and Gus in the Human Appreciation Society, giving them my full support."
"Human… what?" Raika whispered to Luz.
"I still need to find out more about that too." Luz whispered back.
"Eventually, I helped Willow to get through with her struggles, even help in a few classes when I had the time," Skara went on. "Since then, it had been me, Willow and Gus. I was recently trying to help Willow get a passing grade for Abominations… until we met you and Azura," she said, turning to Luz and Azura. "In more ways than one, you really helped us to change things around for the better. Thank you."
"No, thank you," Luz said. "You've proven to be the best friend for Willow and Gus before I came along. I just introduced you to one of the wonders from my world. You were all amazing before that in your own ways."
Willow smiled, as did Skara, before they turned to each other.
"We're gonna keep that bond for a long time, right?" Willow asked.
"I promise, Willow," Skara said. "That no matter what, I will always be there for you. For Gus, and for all of your new friends."
"Now isn't that disgustingly sweet?"
Everyone heard the voice and turned around, seeing a shadow looming outside of the door. They all walked over and saw Pandora digitizing through a purple spell circle, now in full view as her veil lifted, revealing her face.
"Is that one of the new Darkloids?" Raika asked.
"Wait, I know that face…" Amity said before her eyes widened. "Penelope?!"
"That's Penelope?" Luz asked.
"I'm disappointed that you don't know me, Luz," Pandora said. "I was at the Covention, and I was in charge of that booth where I gave your pet that pen offering. I foretold the outcome of the duel between you and Amity, that she would win, but no…" she seethed. "One thing happened after another, and you came out on top! You ruined all trust that was placed into Oracle magic, and my status as the top student!"
"That wasn't her fault, Penelope!" Amity defended. "She was the stronger with Azura. I was the overconfident one!"
"Well, Penelope may forgive you, but not me," Pandora said, narrowing her eyes. "Thanks to ShadeMan, I'm the decider of all fates now. Call me Pandora!" she announced before the chatterbox on her back grew. "Folding Crush!" she yelled, sending forth several runes from each fold of the fortuneteller.
"Look out!" Hooty called, stretching his neck to cover everyone.
A large explosion went off from the attack, which got the attention of Boscha, Amelia and Cat as they nearly got out of the forest. They gasped and turned, but Boscha gasped upon seeing Pandora as the Owl House staggered back.
"That vampire got Penelope!" Boscha exclaimed.
"Wait, is that the Owl Lady's cottage?" Amelia asked before seeing Luz and her friends as Hooty unfurled back to the door. "It's Luz, Amity, Willow and Skara!"
"Weh?" King asked as Luz was dealing with a pig demon over a stash of her elixirs. Both turned when they too heard the explosion.
"Hold that offer, Tibbles," Eda said, walking out of the tent to see the Owl House getting back up. "Holy Titan, that's no baby magic," she said in amazement before hearing something whir towards them. "Get down!" she yelled, pushing King down as Tibbles ducked, just as two yellow blasts destroyed the tent, with Eda's elixirs flying off the shelf and over the Owl Lady herself.
Eda gasped and removed her cloak, using it to catch all of the elixirs, before turning again to see GrandeurMan with his arms out, his flasks with smoke coming from the tops.
"GrandeurMan," Eda said before setting King down. "Find Luz, make sure she's okay," she ordered before taking out her staff while drinking down an elixir. As soon as she did, her feathers went away. "I've got this."
King nodded and scurried off as Eda flew up to GrandeurMan, who leapt back and aimed his flasks again.
"Almost had you, Edalyn," GrandeurMan said crossly. "I was so close to ending you!"
"Only my family calls me by that name," Eda said, letting Owlbert fly off while keeping her staff, aiming it out. "What, did ShadeMan want me out of the picture so he could kill Luz?"
"Oh, he didn't ask for that. He still wants his enemy to fully become a witch so he can take her down himself," GrandeurMan said with a chuckle. "I find it nonsense, but he did allow me the chance to try and off you while you were vulnerable to the curse. Now, I can end you, just like I should have the day I became a Darkloid!"
"Then prepare to be disappointed!" Eda spat, creating several spell circles from her staff.
"Flask Cannons!" GrandeurMan yelled, sending forth several blasts from his flask cannons once more.
Several elemental blasts came from Eda's circles, both attacks colliding with each other before the two flew for a clash in the middle.
Back at the mobile Owl House, Pandora was continuing to fire down at Luz and her friends, but Luz kept using her Slash Grip to deflect the blasts while Raika was borrowing her Shot Grip, firing back at her.
"Dash Claw!"
"Look out!" Willow called, seeing FeralMan rush in from the side. Quickly, she grabbed him as soon as he came into contact with her, holding him back as he snarled angrily.
"Two Darkloids?!" Luz exclaimed. "Azura, we need cover so I can load up and CrossFuse!"
"Anything we can do to help too?" Amity asked. "I know my NetNavi isn't ready yet, but I'm sure we can help."
"She's ready, but I haven't had the time to load everything into your PET," Luz replied. "Skara, your NetNavi, however, is ready! Get to my laptop and put your PET next to it! Your new NetNavi will load on immediately. Then grab a Synchro Chip, do what I did at the Covention, and help me out!"
"I'm with you, let's go!" Gus called out as Azura flew forward, summoning the MagiBuster.
"Magi Bolts!" Azura called out, sending forth attacks that sent Pandora backwards.
Willow yelled as she eventually managed to overpower FeralMan, sending him to the ground as Amity slammed Abomination goo at him.
"Here we go!" Luz called, loading up five Battle Chips into her PET. Still keeping the Slash Grip attached, she turned to Raika. "You'd better help the others, or get inside. I know you don't like CrossFusion, but—"
"Times have changed," Raika said, taking out a Synchro Chip of his own. "You lead."
Luz stood surprised for a moment before she nodded. She detached the Shot Grip from Raika's PET before placing her own Synchro Chip out.
"Synchro Chip In! Download!" Luz and Raika both called out, Raika tossing his coat off while Azura returned to Luz's PET, now holding it out with the Slash Grip.
"Begin CrossFusion Now!"
As soon as Azura returned to Luz's PET, Luz let her armor manifest itself onto her outstretched arm as at the same time, her left arm started to gain her same gauntlets. Spreading them out, Azura's boots appeared over her legs, right as a purple over-shield appeared over her top chest. On her back, a set of two stars split in half appeared, acting as a pack for her, before she crossed her arms, allowing her Navi Crest to form and place itself on the center of her chest. As soon as it did, she spun around, her black bodysuit appearing beneath. She turned around and grinned, Azura's hat appearing over her head, followed by the sides of her helmet forming and placing a plate over her mouth. Holding out her right hand, the MagiBuster appeared, which she spun around before finishing her CrossFusion, staff held behind her, her left arm clenched in a fist facing up, and her left leg crossed behind her right.
Raika spread out his arms and closed his eyes. His shirt tightened before SearchMan's green combat Kevlar come onto his chest, followed by grey shoulder pads digitizing onto his shoulders before his black bodysuit appeared under his armor. SearchMan's Gauntlets manifested on Raika's arms, where his Crests appeared, before his Boots snapped into place at the same time. Afterwards, he gained SearchMan's Helmet as it digitized over his head, followed by an orange visor. His Crests soon came onto the sides of his Helmet afterwards before he thrust out his right arm, summoning the Scope Blaster. Grabbing onto it and cradling it in his arm like a soldier, his CrossFusion completed.
"Whoa!" Amity exclaimed in amazement as Willow was using her plant magic to make a barricade against FeralMan's attacks.
"When did you get the ability to CrossFuse?" Luz asked.
"It's a long story," Raika replied. "Right now, let's focus on them!"
"Help Willow and take FeralMan. Pandora's mine!" Luz ordered as she flew at Pandora, with Raika acknowledging as he leapt towards FeralMan.
"Get the house moving!" Raika yelled before narrowing his eyes at FeralMan. "Satellite Ray!" he called out, summoning his Satellite Ray to fire on the new beastly Darkloid.
"Okay, here we go!" Skara said as her normal NetNavi started to change. Soon, in place of her starter was a female NetNavi with red and lavender armor, with striped white and red gauntlets as well as mauve boots. Her Navi Crest was on her chest, she had purple hair with green eyes underneath a yellow visor, and had a lute in her arms. "Wow, my own Navi! I'm Skara."
"Call me Melody," the new NetNavi said. "Nice to meet you."
"I wish we had more time to talk, but right now, my friends need our help," Skara said as she looked to the laptop, seeing a case. She opened it and saw several Synchro Chips inside. Taking one, she looked back to her new NetNavi. "We need to work together in our first fight. Can we do that?"
"Don't worry. Luz uploaded everything that happened in the Demon Realm into my memory when designing me, and I know the threat we're facing," Melody said. "Skara, whatever you need me for, I'm there. We both want to become great friends. Not with just each other, but with Willow and Gus… and rebuild what was a lie with Amity too."
"Yeah, I want to show them that I'm a true friend," Skara said with a smile before she and Gus both saw Luz jumping away from several of Pandora's attacks. "You ready for this?" she asked.
"Go for it!"
"Guys, we need to get moving back to where the Owl House once was, and away from here before we cause damage!" Willow called as she and Amity approached Gus and Skara. "If it worked when you and I did it with Luz, Gus, then we can do it with Amity too."
"Do that, I'm heading out there," Skara said before placing a hand on Willow's shoulder. "You can do this." She said with a reassuring smile before running to the door.
"Just as we did before." Willow said, holding her hand out, one of them being held by Gus.
"I won't leave you again, I swear." Amity said, taking Willow and Gus's other hands.
As soon as Skara arrived outside, the house once again moved. Hooty's eyes glowed as he walked back to where he originally was, with Luz and Raika taking notice.
"Destroy that home!" Pandora ordered, only for Luz to shoot away Pandora.
"Luz, this is way different from when we handled ShadeMan," Azura said. "We're gonna need extra power to combat an Oracle."
"Then it's a good thing you've got the sound of music on your side." Skara said, showing off her Synchro Chip.
"Go for it, Skara!" Luz called, leaping onto the roof, with Raika right behind her.
"How did it go again? Oh, right," Skara said with a grin as she tilted her Scroll PET onto its side. "Synchro Chip in, download!" she called out, placing the Synchro Chip in and letting the data flow through, magic circles creating each screen as she held it out.
"Begin CrossFusion Now!" Skara and Melody both called out, letting the light spread.
"Her too?!" Pandora exclaimed as FeralMan covered his eyes from the light.
"That traitor can do it?!" Boscha exclaimed before she was forced to jump out of the way of the Owl House before it could walk over her, while Amelia and Cat had already stepped out of the way. All three were sharing the same shocked expression.
Skara flung out her Navi Crest before letting it pass through her. As soon as it did, she let Melody's gauntlets appear over her arms before performing a high double kick, letting her boots appear over her own. Spinning around, her clothes compressed to allow for her black bodysuit to manifest onto her before her Navi Crest flew onto her chest. Eyes closed, she bowed her head down and let Melody's helmet appear over her, followed by her visor appearing over her eyes as she opened them. Spinning once again, she summoned her lute before backflipping, playing a single note from it as her CrossFusion finished.
"Whoa…" everyone said in awe, both friends and enemies alike.
"We… we did it?" Skara asked as she looked to herself. "Dang, I look hot! How are you feeling, Melody?"
"In perfect harmony with you, girl," Melody replied. "I'm ready for whatever we do next!"
"And I see every move that we can pull off too," Skara said as she lifted her head up. "Come and get it, Penny!"
"You know I hate that name!" Pandora yelled, flying at Skara.
"Summon the band!" Skara called, causing several Felony Viruses with her Navi Crest on all of them to appear. "Bard Band, go!"
The Bard Band all let out sonic blasts that caused Pandora to create a psychic barrier to protect herself before she saw Amity in her view.
"Time to collect!" Pandora quipped, creating spell circles that shot at Amity's neck.
"No! Vulcan, Battle Chip In!" Luz called out, shooting rapid blasts at Pandora.
Amity gasped as she felt one of the blasts tug at her neck. She grasped it before something flew off and towards Pandora, getting her to drop to her knees as Gus and Willow ran to check on her.
"I'm… I'm okay," Amity said, feeling her neck. "Let's keep going."
"My turn!" FeralMan called, rushing at the three CrossFusers. "Feral Crash!"
"Search Grenade!" Raika called out, tossing a green grenade at FeralMan. It created a smokescreen that blinded him, causing him to drop down before it cleared away.
"Where are you now?!" FeralMan yelled, seeing Raika gone from Luz and Skara.
"Look closely." Raika said, appearing behind FeralMan with his Scope Blaster aimed.
"Impossible!" FeralMan gasped.
"Search Shot!"
FeralMan yelled as the Search Shot surged through him. He was soon sent flying, right as one of the Owl House's legs stepped on him.
"FeralMan, Logging Out."
"Augh, you can't rely on good help anymore!" Pandora complained before Luz shot her.
"How about that Style Change?" Azura suggested.
"Good idea," Luz said as she spread out her arms. "Style Change! Starlight Style, Activate!"
Two golden rings appeared from Luz, circling around her as she closed her eyes, taking a deep calming breath. Before her, the MagiBuster floated around before her purple trim turned into a bright gold color. The helmet parts of her turned to a shining silver before two gold and bronze guns appeared in holsters at her sides. She opened up her eyes, the MagiBuster floating back into her hand, now with a golden orb to replace the blue. Grinning, she spread out her arms, letting the light now shine around her body, the Light Glyph appearing on the sides of her helmet.
At the same time, Eda was clashing her staff with GrandeurMan, using a blade that had liquid flowing through it. eventually, she slashed him back before allowing Owlbert to claw at his eyes.
"Get off, bird!" GrandeurMan yelled, trying to swat Owlbert away before he flew back to Eda, now floating above him. "What?!"
"Ah, it's cute that you think you can get the drop on me, but I'm the most powerful witch for a reason, and here it is!" Eda proclaimed, spinning and creating dozens of spell circles with her staff. Now flying higher, she thrust her arms out, getting fire blasts to impact on GrandeurMan, sending him crashing into the ground.
As soon as Eda landed, she saw the Owl House making its way towards them. Tibbles yelled and ran for cover, but his tent was destroyed, before Raika leapt off and shot GrandeurMan as he was getting back up.
"I'll be back! And you will pay!" GrandeurMan swore before digitizing away through his spell circle.
"GrandeurMan, Logging Out."
"Take us home!" King called, jumping onto Eda's back as she flew up.
"Thanks for the free purchase!" Eda called to Tibbles as he looked at the remains of his shop.
"Curse you, Eda the Owl Lady! Curse you, Darkloids! I will have my revenge!" Tibbles proclaimed as onlookers watched with strange looks on their faces.
"Starlight Sword!" Luz called out, creating her golden blade from her MagiBuster before slashing at Pandora with it, only for her to create a blade of her own from her crystal ball and lock with her.
"You can't defeat me! My mind is greater than yours!" Pandora proclaimed as she tried to push Luz back, only for her blade to shoot stars at her, forcing her towards Skara.
"Then you clearly don't know what we can truly do!" Skara quipped, playing her lute. "Musa-Beam!" she called, sending forth several music notes that sent Pandora to the ground, though she still continued to hover.
"Prism, Battle Chip In!" Luz called out, sending forth several prisms from her MagiBuster that all surrounded Pandora. "Go for it," she told Skara. "We'll weaken her."
"I've got just the thing to end this ballad." Skara said before dashing at Pandora.
"Light Blaze Charge!" Luz called out, sending forth several Light Glyph-powered shots, all going through each of the prisms before they all blinded Pandora.
"My eyes!" Pandora screamed.
"You should be more worried about your ears after this!" Skara quipped, spinning around her lute before charging right at Pandora. "Sound Barrier Breaker!"
Pandora gasped before Skara's attack sent her crashing into the ground, music notes all crashing down on her. An explosion went off afterwards, just as the Owl House returned to where it once was.
"Mess with the best…" Luz started as she landed in front of Skara, holding her fist out.
"Lose like the rest." Skara finished up with a fist bump.
"There's that thrill again!" Amity exclaimed giddily. "Go, Luz and Skara!"
"I can't wait until we're all ready for CrossFusion!" Gus squealed.
Pandora groaned as she got back up, her vision returning. She looked to everyone as Eda returned before looking to her hand. In it was a necklace with a purple gem, letting off a glow. Grinning, she took it and slammed it into the empty Dark Chip she was given before activating it.
"You win this round… but I got what I came for," Pandora said to herself. "I'll come back for you especially, Skara. And Amity? Be ready for revenge."
"Pandora, Logging Out."
Luz spread her arms out, as did Raika and Skara. All at the same time, they caught their respective PETs before Eda flew down to meet with them just as Willow, Gus and Amity came down as well.
"You were amazing, Skara!" Willow exclaimed.
"Ah, thanks," Skara said before looking to her Scroll PET. "Melody, how do you feel?"
"Like I could use a rest from a battle like that," Melody replied, getting everyone to laugh, though Luz could have sword she heard Raika chuckle a bit before seeing a stoic expression on his face. "Mute everything for the next few minutes, then we can talk. I really want to have some fun with you, Skara."
"Same." Skara said before turning to Luz and Eda.
"Well, kids, you did it," Eda said. "Didn't animate anything in the house, but you did get the house itself. I gotta say, I'm envious now."
"Yeah, it was a bit of an accident, but look at what else we got!" Luz replied, ready to pull out her Progress PET again. Before she could, Azura digitized next to her.
"They animated two things! The house, and me!" Azura exclaimed. "Not sure how long it lasts, me being able to stay outside of my PET. Might be just for tonight, or forever. Who knows?"
"Well, next time, invite me over," Eda said. "Oh, Skara, thanks for reminding me…" she said before pulling out her PET. As soon as she did, she smiled before showing her screen to Luz.
"Would you look at that?" Luz said in amazement. "The process is still slow, but you at least got the Navi Crest and helm to finish. And you're already at forty percent completion of your Navi too!"
"Yeah, I think that the elixir is what I need to not only keep the beast at bay, but to also help with the process, and I have enough to last me a whole soap opera season," Eda said before looking to Hooty as his eyes went back to normal. "Just hope that's not gonna happen again."
"Oh wow! What a rush!" Hooty exclaimed.
"Hey, Raika," King said as everyone turned their attention to Raika. "How was it with the madness here?"
"Well, I'm certainly a believer now," Raika replied, putting his jacket back on. He turned to Luz and nodded. "And you seem to have this situation under control. Being able to take on three Darkloids is quite a feat," he said before looking to Skara. "And you're on a path to something big if you can CrossFuse like that."
"I'll do everything in my power to prove that I'm worthy of this." Skara said.
"Raika, I was able to book a flight to DenTech City," SearchMan said as Raika took out his PET again. "It leaves in the next two hours."
"Thanks, SearchMan," Raika said before turning back to everyone. "You seem to have the situation handled, but just in case, I will let Chief Kiefer know. With luck, Doctors Hikari and Possible should be able to establish contact with you, and we can go from there."
"Does that mean…?" Luz started.
"Yes, the secret of the Demon Realm will be just that. Only the NetSaviors, NetPolice and SciLab will know until the time is right," Raika said. "Though I still have questions about how we can CrossFuse here."
"We're still working on that," Luz said. "I'm glad you came. It was nice seeing you for the first time."
"You're a talented girl, Luz Noceda," Raika said. "And while you would make a good candidate for the Stream Saviors, I see you're needed here most."
"Wait, back up," Willow said. "Stream Saviors?"
"In response to new Asteroid NetNavis and corrupt NetOps using them, the NetSaviors have dedicated themselves to creating a new faction that can handle them, made of both civilians and NetSaviors. We call it the Stream Saviors," Raika explained. "So far, aside from me, other candidates are Lan Hikari, Chaud Blaze, Kim Possible, Ron Stoppable, Monique Raizen and Maylu Sakurai. They will be the first line of defense against anything Duo throws at us."
"Sounds like quite an adventure you have ahead of you." Luz said.
"Well, we don't want to keep you waiting," Eda said, taking out the Portal Key. She clicked it, and the door opened itself up. "Best get going."
Raika nodded and walked through, but stopped to turn to Luz again.
"I'll break the news to your mother as best as I can. She has been trying to hear from you and Azura ever since she got back from the camp," Raika said. "But I'll make sure to also let her know that you're making your father proud, and making new friends too."
"Thanks," Luz replied. "Good luck, and say hi to Kim and Ron for me."
"Adios, Luz Noceda." Raika said before stepping through, now returning to the Human Realm.
"This has been quite a night, and I think we got enough witnesses through the Night Market to have gone viral." Willow said.
"I think I'd better be off," Amity said before feeling her neck, where an outline of the necklace string used to be was. "See you around!" she called as she walked home.
"Tonight was a fun night." Luz said as she waved to Amity.
"Yeah," Eda said. "Now let's get some sleep."
In the Cyberworld, ShadeMan watched the events of the night as his Darkloids bowed before him.
"So, a witch joins in this CrossFusion crusade," ShadeMan said. "I suppose it's time to expand our forces."
Later, as Amity was looking at her new PET, she saw a Navi digitize in. She smiled as soon as the rest of the body appeared.
"We're gonna be great friends." Amity said, unaware of something happening on the ground floor.
"Darkloids… You ruin everything!" a female voice said in an office, watching the battle from the night. "But I have ways to keep Mittens in check… and you will not stand in my way."
