"Dragons don't talk Stoick. That's insane." Astrid challenged again.

"What do they say?" Fishlegs asked sheepishly.

"All kinds of things, kid." Stoick paused. "They're like us, I guess. Talk about all sorts of things."

"And you understand them?"

"Not a single word. But I don't have to. They're not so interested in talking to me or the other handful of humans on top of that mountain. But they sure do talk to Hiccup. Boy can't go more than a deep breath before someone is asking him about something. Kid's got it worse than I do."

"So what do we do?" Spitelout asked. Looking for answers from someone.

"We attack them, of course." Astrid shouted and raised her axe in the air.

"And what's that going to do? And how? You still have to navigate through that fog, Which has never been done. And that's if you even make it that far. Cause if you move any closer they're going to attack, and suddenly all five of these ships are going to be under siege from all angles. Then if by some miracle you do make it to the fog you'll have to fight ghosts. Which are a group of dragons who cover themselves in ash so that when they're in the fog it's basically impossible to see them.

Trust me when I say, Hiccup is not someone you want to fight against. There is no winning against him. Plus he wants this finished as soon as possible. Right now your only options are to accept that Hiccup isn't going to hurt you and see what I've seen, or turn these boats around. Unless you lot really want to die here." He moved and stood next to one of the boarding planks. "Those of you who are willing to take a chance kindly join me on this ship. As for the rest of you. Go home. Tell the rest what you saw and heard here. I'm sure they'll believe you just as much as you believe me. Oh, and for those who are really hel bent on killing dragons, there is a war on the horizon for Hiccup and his dragons. So if you're looking to kill dragons, you're just gonna have to learn who's dragons to kill." Stoick climbed onto the plank and walked across to the other ship and waited. The large group on the other side was buzzing with questions and wondering what to do. Until Fishlegs climbed up and walked across. As he jumped down Stoick chuckled. "Had a feelin' you'd be the first.

"If Hiccup says they're not evil then I'll believe it."

"Hey Stoick?" Ruffnut called across the boat. Stoick acknowledged silently. "Can we blow stuff up?" Tuffnut yelled. Stoick rolled his eyes then held up Hiccup's signal.

"I'll let you shoot this off as long as you don't point it at anyone."

"Uh, what is it?" They asked.

"Come over and find out." Stoick shook the signal enticingly. Both scrambled over and jumped at Stoick trying to reach the thing he was now holding over his head.

"You said we could shoot it." Ruffnut complained as she jumped and grabbed at the signal.

"And you will once we leave. If it goes off now it'll be bad." Stoick explained.

Slowly a healthy number of people crossed over. Stoick spotted Astrid looking across with her arms crossed.

"You were the loudest voice against this and now you stand there contemplating walking across that board like all your friends did." Stoick called to her. "There's no shame in it. Wondering what it's like in there. Wondering if that book we've all read a thousand times isn't true. Sometimes you have to see something for yourself; come to your own conclusion. It's why I'm here, it's why these people are on this ship."

"And what if you're lying? What if it's all a trick?" She yelled.

"Ask yourself why would they trick you? If they wanted you dead they would have done it days ago. Why even bother letting you get this close if they had intended to attack. Why send me here in the daytime when attacking you at night would have been easier? And ask yourself if you really think Hiccup is someone who would do that to you.

He never wanted to do what he did. He rightfully was in fear of his life, and the life of his dragon. They never wanted to hurt us. It's why they don't attack us. Hiccup doesn't want us to be enemies. He wants to be allies."

Both ships went quiet.

"Allies, Stoick?" A voice from the crowd asked.

"Hiccup believes the best thing for both us and them is to become friends, and I think he's right. He's shown me how he plans to help. From fishing to cutting down trees, even new materials to forge with. We can help each other. We just have to learn to be friends. Or at least allies."

"You know you sound crazy? You exiled Hiccup for this same thing years ago." Astrid said.

"I did as anyone who was found in his position would have. But now I understand better what it could mean for us. Back then Hiccup had nothing to show, even had we listened. But now, he has everything he needs to show us what it would be like. I've seen it first hand and you can too, lass."

Astrid sighed and stomped her foot before climbing up and over the plank. Her friends happily greeting her. She turned and eyed Stoick.

"You better not be lying."

"Bit late to be threatening that now isn't lass?"

Stoick turned and addressed the other ships. "Now." He called out. "Sail away and do not make any plans to do something stupid. I can only guarantee your safety if you leave without making any sort of detour. And when you return home tell them what happened here. Tell them that a new era is about to begin." He turned away and began to address the people on his ship. Giving them instructions on what to do.

On the mountain Hiccup watched the ships separate. One sailing closer and the others turning and sailing away. He watched the single ship and watched as the flag was taken down. He nodded to himself and put the monocular down. He turned to the other dragons and humans and smiled.

"Alright listen up." He called. "It seems that our plan has worked. But we must still be careful. Toothless and I are going to go check out that solo ship. Since we didn't see that flare go off, that'll be our new signal that it's safe. We'll be bringing that ship in the same way we did before. The rope we used is stored in my workshop. Have it all brought out. We'll bring it to that ship and sort it out. It's all hands on deck again. Let's give them a show."
