Chapter 21: Triple Threat III: Retribution
Age 762 (2012), Paprika Wasteland, Chikyu
Time seemed to remain still as Vegeta watched the Destructo Disc edge ever closer to his foolish partner. The Saiyan prince perpetually warned his stupid comrade about his gaudy pride. Nappa was prone to violent outbursts and easily susceptible to anger. These Earthlings had managed to push all the right buttons in a matter or mere minutes. If this sizzling attack struck it would surely spell the end of the one-time general.
As the Destructo Disc neared contact with Nappa's neck Vegeta's eyes remained put. Visages of brutal violence were the norm to him and if Nappa died here, he deserved it. Sure enough, the circular Ki construct reached Nappa's voluminous neck. A geyser of blood spewed forth, the large Saiyan's eyes rolling towards the heavens. Flesh and bone were torn asunder as the Destructo Disc ripped through his neck, before finally detaching his head from his shoulders.
Krillin's jaw hung open in clear shock that their plan had worked. Nappa's head flopped wildly through the air before slamming into the ground below. Blood continued seeping, splashing all over the dirt as the remainder of Nappa's massive frame crashed into the Earth.
"W-we did it!" Krillin exclaimed. Happily pumping his fist as Vegeta looked on in disgust.
"Great job Krillin!" Gohan cheered on as he rose to his feet. He was just as shocked as his father's best friend.
"Well, that's one less problem to deal with." Piccolo grunted as he folded his arms. His enthusiasm was less vocal, realizing there was still one more combatant left.
"Nappa you imbecile," Vegeta sighed as he walked over to his now deceased partner. Picking up his skull he scowled. "You were always a worthless piece of trash. Your presence will not be missed." Tossing Nappa's head into the air Vegeta swung his leg, catching the skull in stride, as he blasted it away.
A collective chill went down the heroes spine as the watched the sadistic display. Just what kind of monster were they dealing with? He held no remorse, even for his own comrades. And judging from the respect Nappa had shown Vegeta is was clear the shorter Saiyan was the brains of the operation. It had taken the luck of the draw to even beat Nappa, who knew what power this new foe held?
"As weak as you are, even I must applaud you for your combined efforts in defeating Nappa. You humans have shown true ingenuity that I would not have expected to see on such a backwater planet."
"Is he complimenting us?" Gohan asked in a confused tone as he turned to Krillin who had landed beside him.
"I'm not sure," Krillin mumbled as his brows folded in disarray. "But it sure sounds like it though."
"Who cares if he is complimenting us? He still intends on killing us all and destroying this planet!" Piccolo screeched from above. It was shameful how easily these two got distracted in the midst of battle.
"As powerful as Nappa was his strength was still infantile in comparison to my own. As the prince of all Saiyan's I am the most powerful member of my race." Vegeta smirked as he took a proud bow.
"What race? If I remember correctly your planet is gone. You're just one of the few remaining survivors. That's nothing to be boastful of." Piccolo fired back. Vegeta's species was practically a non-factor now.
A gloved hand clenched as Vegeta heard the insult. The Namekian would pay by dying first. "I hope your haughty speech was worth it when you're dead!"
Gohan and Krillin were left gawking as Vegeta suddenly vanished. The Saiyan's Ki signature appeared to have completely vanished. Neither fighter had seen the prince even fidget. As they warily glanced around, eyes darting in every possible direction, their gaze was diverted to the skies as Piccolo screamed in anguish. A hard knee materialized, ramming into Ma Junior's gut as Vegeta arrived.
An evil grin formed on the Saiyan's face as he immediately followed the strike with a barrage of punches to the face. Piccolo's head was treated as a punching bag as each deft blow landed. Throbbing pain barraged the one-time demon king as Vegeta's knuckles became blurs. Blow after blow shredded his green skin as the prince remained unrelenting. The force of each consecutive attack reverberated across the landscape, shattering nearby rock formations.
Krillin and Gohan watched in horror as their comrade was savagely beaten, nearly breaching the edge of unconsciousness. Having had enough the young hybrid jumped into action, sparking his aura as he blasted skywards. Krillin followed in hot pursuit, trailing the young child as they charged to greet Vegeta. The Prince's eyes split from the battle at hand as the duo engaged him. Wild blows were thrown as the Gohan and Krillin lashed out with their full fury.
The Earthlings were at a height disadvantage but managed to offset it by aiming high and low. Krillin's hands moved rapidly, firing with the force to crumble mountains, as he aimed the Saiyan's head. But with his left hand, Vegeta lazily blocked every single strike. A smiled stretched from ear to ear on Vegeta's face as he watched the former monk's frustration mount. This was far too easy for him.
Gohan wasn't fairing much better as his blows, aimed at Vegeta's abdomen, were parried by his knees. The Demi-Saiyan focused, pouring more strength into his attacks, but the result remained the same. Vegeta's muscle control was impeccable. He was simultaneously defeating the both of them with ease! Finally having had enough of being the victim, Vegeta summoned his aura, flinging both combatants back.
Lunging back into battle Vegeta lashed out at his nearest opponent. Krillin happened to be the unlucky winner and was promptly struck by an open palm to the face. Stunned, Master Roshi's pupil stumbled back before a chop to the neck put him completely out of commission. Gohan's immediate thoughts turned to his comrade as he quickly dashed towards him, hoping to catch Krillin before he crashed. He, however, wasn't given the chance as Vegeta gripped him from behind, taking hold of his skull.
"Focus on the task at hand, not your pitiful friends." Vegeta cruelly whispered into his ear before dashing off towards the nearest mountain.
Gohan's eyes expanded in freight as he neared imminent collision with the formation of stones. A painful cry escaped his lungs as Vegeta slammed him, face first, into it. Every jagged rock was felt as the prince dragged him through. As the mountain finally began to collapse upon them, Vegeta released the boy, allowing the full weight of the boulders to crush him. The prince, however, escaped in the nick of time, flying out of harm's way before a single pebble could even scratch him.
"That's it? So easily? I expected more out of you all," Vegeta shouted across the plain, to the now fallen warriors. "Where's all that ego now Namekian?!"
Wiping the blood from his burst lip Piccolo struggled to his feet. Gohan and Krillin's distraction had potentially saved his life. Without their interference, Vegeta would have surely sent him to meet Goku. Speaking of that kindhearted fool, where the hell was he? Chikyu's hero should have been here by now. The wish they had placed should have already taken effect. Forget him! I am no weakling! With or without Son Goku I shall survive this battle.
"Ready for another thrashing?" Vegeta chuckled as he landed nearby the battered Namekian. "I had hoped to save you for last, but you're making this very difficult for me."
"If you think I'll help you find the Dragonballs, you've got another thing coming."
"I have ways of extracting that info, whether you want to talk or not." Vegeta grimaced as his left hand sparked with Ki.
"Like I said before, the Dragonballs have gone dormant now. You came far too late to use them." Piccolo spat back. Why couldn't this Saiyan understand that?
"What do you mean?" Vegeta's jaw tightened as the Ki in his hand fizzled out. "I'll give you one last chance."
"We used the Dragonballs to bring back Raditz brother, Goku."
"Kakarot you mean." Vegeta corrected. Regardless of Goku's allegiances, he was still a Saiyan.
"Whatever," Piccolo grunted. "We used the Dragonballs to reconstruct him following his death at my hands, due to your brother. The Dragonballs can only be used once per year. Goku is on his way here now. It's too late for you and whatever plans you had."
"You lie Namekian!"
"I'm telling the truth. Even if you kill us all your wish will never be fulfilled. There's no hope for you now."
"Damn you Earthlings!" Energy surged around Vegeta as he screamed to the top of his lungs. A violent wind spread across the battlefield as Ki crackled around his body. "I needed that wish to defeat Frieza! You don't know what you've done!"
Frieza? Piccolo thought with concern as he watched the prince's rage continue to mount. Judging from this little episode there was someone out there even more powerful than him. Great, jut great.
Without a further word Vegeta charged. Piccolo grunted as the prince's fist submerged itself in the confines of his stomach. A spit-laden gasp escaped the Namekian's lips, as oxygen vanished from lungs. His pain intensified as Vegeta finished his combo off with a tremendous Ki blast. It exploded harshly against his skin, sending him rocketing towards the ground below. A clap of thunder echoed as he landed, embedded in a crater. Quickly, Piccolo jumped to his feet as he saw the flame-haired Saiyan descend upon him.
Tightening his fingers into a fist, Kami's evil half mustered Ki to his hand. A large vermillion Ki blast rocketed towards the Saiyan, who simply smiled. He swatted it away, sending it soaring into a nearby mountain, which instantly collapsed as it made contact. Turning his attention back to the battlefield, he discovered his opponent had vanished. He frowned briefly before he settled himself mid-way between the sky and the ground.
This was a reoccurring event in the battle with the Earthlings. They would simply disappear and reappear seconds later; all Vegeta had to do now was wait. His assumption was proven correct as Piccolo reappeared behind him, launching a fist at his seemingly unprotected backside. The Saiyan instantly turned around, latching on to the Namekian's green appendage. Turning, he violently tugged Piccolo's arm along with him.
Gaining enough velocity Vegeta threw Ma Junior high into the sky and rocketed off to meet him. Piccolo had no time to recompose himself, as the prince instantly appeared in front of him. He barely saw the Saiyan's arms move, but suddenly felt pain echo throughout his face. A forearm scraped across his face, sending him flying across the atmosphere. His flight never stopped as Vegeta appeared on his side, bringing his hands together and slamming them down on the Namekian.
A shockwave reverberated as Vegeta plummeted to the ground below. A strange feeling moved throughout his body, as Piccolo felt himself propel upwards. He screamed as he gazed down, and noticed the Saiyan's feet on his back. Multiple bones snapped, as he vaulted back towards the sky.
There was a brief pause in the battle, as the tremendous pain throughout Piccolo's body ceased. Shaking the cobwebs, he opened his eyes to discover a massive beam of light headed his way.
"Mouth Energy Wave!"
A tremendous gust of wind washed over the battlefield, as the blast collided. A massive explosion followed, wiping the cloud of smoke away.
"Completely pitiful Namekian, I expected more! You could have spared yourself this fate but you chose to be foolish instead!" Vegeta screamed as he surged towards Piccolo who was now embedded in a crater.
The Namekian had no time to react, the oxygen escaping his lungs as Vegeta's elbow rammed into him. A horrified scream escaped his lungs as Vegeta's fist followed up the attack. But suddenly it stopped, as Piccolo felt himself get tugged and pulled up. A second later, the air in his lungs began to disappear once more as Vegeta began squeezing his throat.
"Piccolo!" Gohan screamed as he ignited his Ki, rocketing towards his sensei.
Without batting an eye Vegeta swatted the hybrid away, slapping him back in the opposite direction. Krillin's proceeding attack didn't fare much better as the former monk was blasted by a Ki beam.
"Pitiful," Vegeta scowled as he glanced over to the two warriors who presently sprawled out on opposite ends of the battlefield. "I should kill you now, my patience has already been severely tested."
"Do what you want to me, it doesn't matter. Goku is still going to come and kill you." Piccolo said, managing to smirk even as Vegeta tightened his grip.
"Kakarot you mean."
"Yes," Piccolo consented. "He'll be less than pleased when he discovers what you've done."
"Oh really?" Vegeta chuckled to himself as he tossed his head back. "And where is this all powerful Kakarot at now? He's been missing this whole battle."
"Like I said earlier, I killed him during our battle with your former comrade Raditz. Before you even got here we used the Dragonballs to wish him back to this plane of existence. He'll be here anytime now."
"Kakarot was killed by you, but you expect him to be some kind of threat to me? The prince of all Saiyans?" Vegeta questioned in a mocking tone.
"He's been training, getting more powerful ever since he died. If I know that son of a bitch, he'll come back as the most powerful being on this planet."
"It's too bad you won't be here to greet him when he arrives, seeing as you'll be dead!"
"Do it! It doesn't matter in the end. You'll just be giving Goku more reasons to kill you for what you've done. Once he sees my dead body and the state of his son, there won't be any hope for you."
"His son?" Vegeta parroted as he slowly turned towards Gohan. "I knew that boy was extraordinarily powerful for his age, but never did it even cross my mind that he was Kakarot's son."
As soon as the words left his lips, Piccolo realized he made a grave mistake.
"If Kakarot is truly on his way here imagine the pain his heart will feel if he is greeted by the sight of his dead child!"
Dropping Piccolo to the ground Vegeta turned as he raced towards the still dazed Demi-Saiyan. Gohan's eyes widened in shock as the prince loomed over him, open palm radiating with Ki.
"Goodbye!"
But before the torrent of crackling energy could be released Piccolo jumped in the way, summoning the last remaining bits of his energy.
"No!"
Age 762 (2012), Mojave Desert, USA
Tien stared intently at the cloud of smoke hovering in front of him as he anxiously awaited the results of his latest attack. No matter how powerful Turles was, a powerful Kamehameha like that should have damaged him, if only a little bit. Up until this point in the battle, everything the Earth's heroes had thrown had at him had been ineffective. Turles had just essentially shrugged them off
As the smoke blocking his sight cleared, Turles once again appeared on the battlefield; he was injured! Silently pumping his fist Tien was thankful that his attack had done something. At least he'd managed to inflict some sort of pain on the Saiyan.
"That was actually my favorite piece of clothing," Turles growled as he gripped the tattered remains of his suit. "You don't know how hard it is to find nice armor like this in your system."
With that final word Turles charged forward, completely catching the Triclops off guard. Luckily, though, right before Turles left fist struck, Chiaotzu intercepted it, catching it in the palm of his hand. It didn't stay there for long though as Turles quickly overpowered the telekinetic and leaned forward, smashing his skull into the Earthling's face.
The former assassin reeled back, dazed, slightly bleeding, as a stream of blood trickled down from his nose. Unrelenting, Goku's doppelganger reached out and latched onto Chiaotzu's head giving it several blood-curdling squeezes. Tien quickly dashed forward to help his friend, dispatching several punches at the Saiyan's back and abdomen. It was to no avail as Turles began squeezing his comrade's skull even harder.
Growing frustrated with his attempts Tien cupped his hands together and began chanting Master Roshi's infamous words once more. He hoped Chiaotzu would forgive him for putting him in harm's way of this blast, but it was better for Chiaotzu to be injured than to be dead. Rushing forward, Tien slammed the beam of sizzling Ki into Turles back. This time it elicited a reaction from the Saiyan.
The bounty hunter dropped the telekinetic's face as he turned towards the Triclops. Tien's attack had worked but now he was in harm's way. Shaking his head the former Crane student removed the fear from his mind. He was better than this. Deciding to take the incentive Tien ran forward and began launching fists at supersonic speeds.
Turles stood his ground and traded them right back with Tien, his blows often getting the better of Triclops. Sonic booms erupted left and right as the duo traded fists, each strike causing a shockwave which echoed throughout the desert. As the two fighters trekked across the California skyline Tien began to lose ground. Each punch from the Saiyan was becoming faster, stronger, and he could no longer keep up with their intensity. Taking evasive action, Tien decided to retreat, ducking under an overextended fist, he backpedaled faster than an Olympic swimmer.
Taking a quick glance below Tien saw that Chiaotzu was back on his feet. His best friend was taking a few seconds to resettle himself after having his head nearly squished into mush. Tien would somehow have to survive these next few minutes alone, without him. The brief moment of peace Tien had quickly ended as Turles rushed forward to once again re-engage him.
The Triclops was forced to leap higher into the air to avoid the blow. But as Tien did so Turles hands wrapped around his leg. Tien struggled, kicking with fury to escape the Saiyan's grasp but the bounty hunter would not let go. With a quick turn and flick of the wrist, Turles sent the Triclops soaring towards the sand dunes at breakneck speed. With a cloud of dust, Tien arrived on the ground.
The was awoken by the excruciating pain he felt throughout his body. He attempted to stand up but it was too painful for him to move. He looked around at his surroundings and found himself encased in a crater. Looking up, he saw Turles descend towards him. He immediately rose from his dwelling and dropped into a battle stance.
Turles landed on the other side of the battlefield, smirking as he walked towards the Triclops. The former Crane student frowned as he saw the evil grin plastered on the Saiyan's face. He quickly charged forward, arms outstretched in a punching motion. But Tien was greatly circumvented when his fist was easily evaded by a slight head turn. The Triclops instantly attempted another attack thrusting his other fist out.
This time it connected, but not at the place he'd aimed it. Turles grip tightened as he squeezed Tien's fist, causing him to cry out in pain. Tien's fist was eventually released as Turles struck him with a quick pair of jabs. The Triclops head bopped up and down, as the bounty hunter's fists pounded into his face.
With each punch, Tien's vision began to fade. Each heavy handed blow was bringing the weight of the world with it. He didn't know how much more of this he could take, his body was beginning to get numb from the strikes. The once small trickle of blood from his forehead was now a large stream descending all the way down his face.
The Saiyan felt no remorse as he pounded into the unguarded Earthling's face. Each punch echoing throughout the desert, sending shockwaves all around. Flashing a final smirk Turles moved in for the kill. He was sick of playing games with this human. He had infuriated him to no end and now he would pay the ultimate price.
"Dodonpa!"
But before Turles could act further, a luteous beam of light engulfed the battlefield. Turles was forced to cover his eyes as the light was too bright even for him. As the golden rays finally waned the Saiyan turned to see who had attacked him.
"You again? How hard is it for you to stay down? I guess I'm just going to have to kill you now!"
Chiaotzu stood unfazed by Turles words. His attack had failed to inflict any major damage on Turles but had made him release Tien, which is what he had been aiming for in the first place. Wiping the smudge off his face Chiaotzu motioned for Turles to come at him. He didn't know how much energy he had left, but if he was going to die, he would at least go out fighting.
Taking one final look at his friend's bloodied form, Chiaotzu sprang forth with all the power he had.
Extending an arm forward, the telekinetic lashed out with a karate chop. As tall as Turles was, he managed to evade it, though not gracefully, causing Chiaotzu fingers to instead slice through the cool California breeze. The telekinetic quickly retracted his arm knowing retaliation from Turles was imminent. Chiaotzu's deduction proved to be correct as the Saiyan requited him with a fist of his own. Chiaotzu managed to block it, raising his arm up just in the nick of time but was still sent tumbling backward from the force of the strike. It was utterly clear who the stronger of the two was. Regardless, though, he was determined to fight until the end.
Raising his right leg, Chiaotzu brought it around, aiming a roundhouse kick at Turles head. The bounty hunter didn't make the attempt to dodge this time, he simply stood there waiting for it. With a resounding crack, Chiaotzu's kick landed, though not with much effect. The smile that Chiaotzu so hated, crept across Turles face as the juggernaut proceeded to grab his leg. Before the telekinetic could even process what was occurring he found himself being tossed across the battlefield, headed directly for a collision with a small mountain.
Righting himself at the last moment, the smaller fighter spring boarded off the mountain, using his momentum to flip around and fly back towards his opponent. Turles was slightly perturbed, he hadn't expected that at all. Regardless it was just a little hiccup in his plans. Grinning as he planted his foot, the Saiyan began charging towards Chioatzu who was now half way towards him.
As the two neared collision with one another Chioatzu latched onto Turles shoulders, using them as weights to anchor himself. Quickly planting his feet down onto the ground, the telekinetic flipped The Saiyan over his shoulders, tossing the bounty hunter into the sky. Turles was surprised, to say the least as he found himself rocketing away.
"Continuous Energy Bullets!"
Beams of blue Ki erupted from Chioatzu's hands as he fired at the unprotected Saiyan. He knew this attack was a major risk for him. He was placing the remainder of his Ki into this attack and if it failed, he was doomed. But it was a risk he just had to take, Turles didn't leave many openings for attack. He had to strike while the iron was hot.
The screaming from Chioatzu's lungs continued to grow louder as he desperately poured more Ki into his blasts. Beam after beam after beam struck Turles. The sky was set ablaze with azure light, flashing whenever an orb of Ki struck him. Though his hands grew weary of firing so many continuous attacks, the former assassin persevered. This was his last stand. This was where he would make his mark. With a final deafening shout, the telekinetic ceased his assault, dropping to his knees as he began to pant for breath.
"It's finished."
As Chiaotzu struggled, gasping for breath, he looked towards the heavens above. The massive mushroom cloud that had formed overhead was beginning to clear. Silently uttering a prayer to whatever gods existed, Chiaotzu hoped he would see Turles frame descending towards the ground. His hopes were instantly dashed as the smoke evaporated, instead revealing a scarred but grinning Saiyan in the sky.
"That was quite impressive for an Earthling. You're not as weak as I thought you were. Too bad you still have to die."
Chiaotzu's words hung on his lips as he watched Turles streak down from the sky, aura blazing behind him. His body was completely drained of energy, his previous assault having depleted it. Gritting his teeth in frustration he took one final look around his surroundings. This would be the place where he died. He had never expected to die so early but the Universe clearly had other plans for him.
"Spirit Ball!"
Turles eyes darted around as a whizzing sound was heard throughout the air. Turning his head as the noise approached his eardrums the Saiyan came face to face with a hovering ball of energy. The bounty hunter's eyes sprang to new heights as the attack narrowly missed him, managing to scrape across his cheek.
"You!" Turles exclaimed as he located his attacker, homing in on Yamcha.
In a flash the Saiyan was on him, phasing in front of the Lone Wolf as he launched a strike. Yamcha narrowly dodged the uppercut, sighing in relief as the Saiyan overextended himself. Capitalizing on his miss, the former bandit retreated back several steps, distancing himself from the bounty hunter. Tien and Chiaotzu had been easily disposed of, he would have to be extremely cautious.
But Yamcha was completely caught off guard as the Saiyan sprung into action once more. Turles fists slammed into his face, sending him soaring back several feet. Before he could even land, the bounty hunter was knocked upwards by Turles kicking him into the sky. Observing him soar farther than his eyes could see, Turles vanished and materialized behind the still ascending Earthling.
Bringing his hands down together, Turles slammed them down on Lone Wolf's back, the immediate effect being a shockwave. Down below Superman had to strain against the resounding wind caused by the force of the blow. His eyes bulged as he watched Yamcha rocket back towards the ground, even faster than Turles initial blow.
In the blink of an eye the scar-faced warrior arrived, a crater thunderously announcing his arrival. Up above the Saiyan watched with curious eyes, he knew that attack wouldn't be enough to finish of the Earthlings. They were proving to be quite resilient to his attacks.
"I'm definitely gonna feel that one in the morning." Yamcha groaned as he slowly rose to his feet. The crater that had formed beneath him was anything but comfortable.
Turles remained stale faced, as expected; The Earthling had survived. Not wasting a second, Turles ignited his Ki and swooped down below, firing an assortment of rainbow colored Ki beams along the way. A deep scowl formed on Yamcha's face as he warily watched them approach.
Once again Superman had to shield himself from a reverberating shockwave. As the ensuing smog and haze cleared, the man of steel was given sight of the unharmed Lone Wolf, an aegis of Ki having formed around him in the nick of time. Kal-El's joyous expression was only trumped by Turles frustrated one. Quickly discarding his annoyance, the Saiyan landed and proceeded to attack Yamcha with a hasty combo of punches and kicks, one's that were too fast for him to even detect.
Yamcha screamed as his body exploded with pain. Turles power was overwhelming, beyond anything he could have ever conceived. For the past several minutes, he'd been bombarded with bone shattering attacks and techniques. He hadn't felt this much pain since his training with Master Roshi, and even that was incomparable to this. Skidding to a halt, the Lone Wolf attempted to recompose himself.
Yamcha quickly hopped to his feet, only for Goku's doppelganger to greet him with a knee to the face. He staggered back, feet nearly tripping over one another. But recovering quickly he launched a right hook at the Saiyan's face, only to be left frustrated as it passed through an after image. He immediately spun around as he heard the sound of two feet landing. But as soon as he did so, his face was hit with a strong knee to the jaw, sending him stumbling back.
Yamcha tried to regain his composure but was met with a rib-cracking punch to his abdomen before he could. His knees caved in sending him tumbling to the ground. But before he could crash into the sand, Turles foot collided harshly with his face, sending him soaring through the air.
The Saiyan quickly followed up, appearing behind him, still in flying motion. Bringing his leg up, he slammed it into the Earthling's back, sending him crashing through several piles of dirt. Yamcha eventually recovered, though, managing to shout his way out of the debris. Sparking his aura the former bandit shot towards the sky, aura streaking along the way.
A shockwave reverberated as the duo met in mid-air, fists clashing against one another. Swinging his fist with the weight of the world, Yamcha brought it down on Vegeta's face. A shockwave echoed as it collided, causing Turles to scowl in displeasure
Yamcha immediately charged forward, hoping to strike once more, only to be meet with a sharp kick to the face. He soared back but was pulled forward as Turles tugged him by his throat.
Backing away slightly, the Saiyan slammed his fist into his face. He smirked as he felt several bones snap along the way. But his smirk quickly vanished as Yamcha recovered, retaliating with a fist of his own, hitting the bounty hunter directly in the face.
"ARGH"
Yamcha growled as he charged back, tossing multiple jabs at the otherworldly invader. Turles simply smirked, moving his hands rapidly to slap and block all of the blows, further frustrating Yamcha.
The rate of the punches increased as the Lone Wolf observed their continued failure. After several minutes of blocked attacks, he switched strategies and abruptly kneed Turles in the stomach.
The Saiyan immediately dropped his guard, moving his hands to clutch his now aching stomach. Yamcha grinned before dispensing a brutal combination of punches and kicks upon the reeling warrior.
After a minute of unceasing attacks, Yamcha halted, taking a moment to form Ki in his hands. Turles eyes expanded as he sensed what was coming next. The Lone Wolf then detonated the topaz ball of Ki on him, sending him rocketing away.
Following up, Yamcha charged, extending his legs to meet him. His foot never reached its target, as Turles hands grasped and clasped his foot. Spinning around he picked up momentum before he promptly tossed the Earthling into the distance.
Yamcha finally managed to halt himself, igniting his Ki as he came to a stop. Turles, however, managed to vanish in that brief second. Scanning the perimeter Yamcha readied himself for anything. The Saiyan was an incredibly dangerous opponent, who knew what he could be planning? But his search was derailed as the warrior in question materialized behind him.
A knee to the back immediately struck him, sending him lurching forward. Multiple jabs to the ribs followed next as the Saiyan peppered his stomach. Spit spewed forth with every blow as the oxygen quickly vanished from Yamcha's lungs. His eyes began rolling back as Turles added Ki with every strike. His brute strength was powerful enough, but the combination of the two was a dangerous concoction.
The Lone Wolf attempted to fight back but was circumvented by the speed of the Saiyan's assault. Fist after fist struck before he could even recompose himself. The aura surrounding the former bandit began to dim as each hit began to produce blood. Painful cries echoed across the desert as Yamcha was subjected to a brutal beating. At this moment Clark decided to intervene, he had been on the sidelines far too long.
Launching into the air the man of steel raced skywards towards the duo. Moving with all the speed his body would allow him he attempted to put an end to the one-sided affair. Unfortunately, his efforts would be far too late though as Turles finally finished his combo, ramming his hand through the Lone Wolf's chest.
"Yamcha!"
A big thank you to everyone who reviewed chapter 20!
Authors Note: I'm always extremely grateful for the reviews I get and make sure to mention it at the end of every chapter. But I will admit that I was disappointed by the response to the previous chapter. I'm starting to feel like this story has kind of plateaued. I don't personally know what I can do. I try and write better and progress as an author, but even then things still feel stagnant. No one is obligated to review, but each review is extremely appreciated and motivates me to write and be creative.
As a side note, I'd like to recommend a great story that suffers from a lack of reviews. Teen Titans Star Wars crossover: A Galaxy Far, Far Away by Nitebreaker. It's an awesome story, and you won't regret reading it.
Q/A:
Sailor Dragonball 87: The lone mention of Chichi in chapter 19 was a typo which I need to correct. If you need any help with your fighting sequences feel free to PM me.
Darkmist111: Yamcha will not be a bum. I have plans for him, but that won't be until much later on. I can't give you an exact number on the Metahumans, but there a few of them. Can't give you an exact number on the Superheroes either, don't want to create any future plot holes.
JOEL: Wonder Woman will not return to the main plot-line for a long time.
Nanin123: Wonder Woman is probably SSJ right now, as far as this story is concerned.
wehtam 444: I can't give you spoilers on how Gohan's divine powers will be unlocked, but it will happen eventually. Gohan is going to be a lot more powerful than his canon counterpart.
Leoj 3455: I can't spoil the ending of the Turles battle. I can't give a definite number on the power increase the tree of might gives. Maxima is stronger than Frieza, especially due to her array of abilities. King Cold does have a treaty of sorts with an organization you'll see soon. Beerus and Whis will probably only show up at the very end of the story, so I can't even really say. Thanks for the kind words.
Noelesy154: The Justice League will be formed after this story arc. Beerus has been asleep for a long time, they've never met. I already explained the afterlife dynamic in chapter 17. Thanks for the kind words.
Sprirax 570: The Androids will not be the only threat in the future. The human Z-fighters are already more relevant they were in canon, as you saw in this chapter. One of the human Z-fighters will become a GL, but I won't spoil who. Vegeta and Bulma's relationship will remain intact. Can't spoil anything about Trunks. Can't spoil anything about the Olympian gods either. Thanks for the kind words.
Omnitus: Superman is nowhere near his full power. He's still growing and gradually getting stronger. I've previously mentioned that his abilities will grow throughout the duration of this story. You are correct though, Superman's heat vision at full blast is very powerful.
