Chapter 28: Emissary V: Tempest

December 7th

Age 762 (2012), Planet Frieza 79

"Do you think he'll survive?" Malaka asked as he stared into the glass chamber that encased Vegeta.

"Hmm his injuries were quite severe but he's survived worse before, he is a Saiyan after all." His fellow scientist, Planthorr replied.

"That's true, he'll probably come out of this even stronger than ever! With his uncanny ability to grow more powerful after each near death experience, I'm sure he'll be fine."

"He might even move up a rank!"

"Move up a rank? Not after what he's done, he'll be executed for insubordination." The two scientists immediately turned around upon hearing the gruff voice, gulping as they realized who it was.

"Gen...General! What are you doing here?"

Malaka and Planthorr, the two head doctors of the base came face to face with the leader of Frieza's honor guard, General Wada. [1]

"It's nice to see you two again, still doing your useless practices I see?"

Planthorr gulped, receiving a visit from Wada was never a good sign. Glancing over to his reptilian colleague he noted his immediate change in color. Malaka's once brown hue had faded into a ghostly white complexion.

"Ge-general ho…how are you? What's the reason for your unexpected drop in?"

"Do I need a reason to visit the hospital? If you question me again I'll kill you Malaka!"

The brown reptilian gulped and instantly closed his mouth, knowing better than to test someone of Wada's ilk. His reputation was infamous. It was once said that he slaughtered an entire civilization for simply annoying him. It was never a good idea to get on his bad side.

"Forgive my colleague general," Planthorr interjected on behalf of his friend. "He simply wants to know why you are here. Someone of your magnitude showing up at our lowly base is unexpected. But I assume you're here in regards to Vegeta's unexpected drop in?"

"That's much better." Frieza's highest ranking soldier smirked. "Count yourself lucky reptilian. If not for your friend here I would have killed you like the Kanassans that once occupied this worthless planet

"Of course general, I apologize for my questioning, it won't happen again." Malaka pleaded as he took a humble bow, dropping down to one knee.

"Make sure of it, you wouldn't want to lose your life just for pissing me off would you?"

Malaka frowned. "No sir, I wouldn't."

Wada simply grunted, draping his cape over his shoulders. "Good. Now as I was saying, Vegeta is guilty of insubordination."

Planthorr blinked questioningly, raising one of his silver brows. "Forgive me general but I don't understand - what has Vegeta done?'

The high commander scowled. "What planet did Vegeta arrive from?"

"If I'm not mistaken I believe it was planet Earth."

"You're correct. He arrived from a planet in the farthest region of this galaxy. Do you know where he was supposed to be headed?"

"No sir, I don't have access to that information."

The general rolled his eyes. "Of course you don't, civilians like you don't have access to such information. The 'prince' here was supposed to be headed to Angor on a purging mission. He and Nappa were originally slated to take on that operation weeks ago. I don't know what happened to bumbling oaf of a Saiyan named Nappa, but I assume he died because he's not here."

Malaka's eyes rose at this. "Forgive my intrusion sir but Nappa can't be dead, he was one of the most powerful privates in the entire military!"

"Well believe it, he's not here. He's supposed to be Vegeta's bodyguard. Anywhere this so called prince goes, he goes. Since Nappa isn't here he most likely died. It doesn't matter anyway, he was a weakling compared to the warriors under my command." The general said dryly.

"As I was saying though, Vegeta disobeyed the direct orders that had been given to him. Instead of going to Angor he went to planet Earth. Angor is a resource rich planet. The planet was to be sold to a galactic warlord, who would pay any amount for it. Frieza's brother was also highly interested in the possible profits for the planet. You of all people should know how competitive Frieza is in regards to Cooler."

The two doctors nodded. Cooler and Frieza despised one another.

"Due to the short notice of the request Frieza was forced to send out one of the lower ranking members of the military to handle this mission. That member, of course, was Vegeta here. Frieza expected the mission to be handled swiftly, hoping to defeat his brother in the race for the planet. But due to Vegeta's insubordination Cooler's men got to the planet and carried out the mission, wiping out all sentient life. Frieza was of course infuriated and embarrassed by the defeat he suffered at the hands of his brother. No one lives and embarrasses our Lord."

Planthorr and Malaka remained silent, shocked at all the information they were receiving.

"So Lord Frieza wants Vegeta dead?"

"Of course. Frieza has immense hatred for his brother and anything having to do him. Losing to Cooler simply amplifies the hatred he has. Lord Frieza has demanded his immediate execution for insubordination, and the losses he's caused him."

"But isn't that a bit extreme? Vegeta is one of Lord Frieza's favorite soldiers."

The general scoffed at Planthorr's words. "Favorite soldiers? Vegeta was one of Frieza's favorite pets. He's kept him alive for no other reason than amusement. He's nothing more than a play toy for Lord Frieza and every one of them eventually gets old. We both know Lord Frieza has killed for much less."

Malaka shuddered remembering how cruel Frieza could truly be. He wasn't feared across the galaxy without cause. "Of course I remember, his rancor and depravity are the reasons my own home world is no longer in existence."

Wada chuckled at the doctor's solemn tone. "Our Lord can be quite the killer, he never ceases to amaze me and Vegeta will find that out soon enough. I've been placed in charge of his execution since I am Frieza's highest ranking guard. When he's fully healed I expect to be notified. I want to torture him at his full strength and see him squirm before I execute him." Taking one final glance at the unconscious Saiyan, General Wada departed from the room.

"That…was intense." Planthorr panted as he attempted to catch his breath. "His mere presence Is overwhelming! I can see why he's ranked so highly. I hope we don't encounter him again."

"It may be terrifying but after years of dealing with people like him, you get used to it." Malaka sighed as he wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead. Things like this were a common occurrence in the PTO.

"You know Vegeta won't be happy about this execution order."

"I know, and he's very volatile when he's angry. How do you think he'll react?"

"I don't know Planthorr but I have a feeling things are about to get interesting around here."

Age 762 (2012), Apokolips

It had been a month since Turles arrival on Apokolips. The Saiyan still couldn't believe such a hellish place existed. The planet stunk of death. Nightmarish screams filled the air and the planet itself was literally on fire. There was no sun in sight. Apokolips was a world devoid of hope and joy.

When he initially arrived Goku's uncle had assumed this planet was hell. This was his punishment for the numerous transgressions and evils he had committed throughout his life. Any sane soul would have done the same considering the standards and state of his surroundings. But soon enough he found out that this place was even worse than he could have fathomed. Death might have truly been a better alternative than being here.

The woman who had brought him here, Intri, had dropped him off at the home of a man named Desaad. Battered and bruised beyond belief from his scuffle with the Earthlings Turles had blacked out. He finally awoke days later, only to discover himself being used as a guinea pig for the mad man's experiments. Try as he may the Saiyan was unable to break free from Desaad's machine and was tortured relentlessly for days.

His body endured unbelievable amounts of excruciating pain. Just when he thought the Universe could humiliate the Saiyan race no further he was proven wrong time and time again. Though his body was crushed, his mind and spirit remained as determined as ever. Through all the hours of suffering, the nights of horror, the days of starvation- his will persisted. Hatred and the lust for revenge were the motivations that kept him alive. He couldn't die here, not like this! Not before he enacted his revenge on Desaad and the Earthlings.

He had nearly given up all hope until the fateful day that Intri had strolled into Desaad's lab. Following a brief discussion between the two, the mysterious woman promptly broke his shackles with ease. Turles was stupefied at the power she momentarily displayed. Aside from Frieza she could have quite possibly been the most powerful warrior he encountered. He would have questioned her if not for her karate chop to the neck which caused him to pass out.

The next time he awoke the bounty hunter found himself in a bedchamber of sorts. It was a room fit for a king. Every inch of it was lined with gold and crystals he had never seen before. As he observed himself he noticed that all his wounds were gone. His previously damaged armor had been fixed and made anew. Somehow his body had been completely healed too. The moment he rose from underneath the bed's covers was when his life changed forever.

As Goku's doppelganger stood up to properly inspect himself an imposing man cloaked in armor walked into his room. Even without his scouter present, Turles could tell he had a massive power level. His mere presence changed the aura of the room. The sword dangling in his black fist blazed red as he approached the Saiyan.

Turles instantly went on the defensive, preparing himself for what was sure to be an attack, but the Saiyan was left perplexed as the man outstretched his free hand. Apprehensively taking it the bounty hunter shook his hand. The two felt one another out, meeting at eye level. With a slow retraction, the man told Turles to follow him. Uncertain, but left with no other options, Turles did as told.

The armor clad man eventually introduced himself as Steppenwolf, a general of the Apokoliptian army. A long and winding tour of the planet was given to the Saiyan. It was even more horrifying than he previously thought. It defied logic why anyone would choose to live here. It was a world not worthy of survival. But Turles soon discovered that it was not by choice that many lived here, it was by force.

Apokolips was a planet ruled by fear with an iron fist. It's leader, Darkseid, was a veritable god. Nothing occurred on this world without his oversight. Not even Frieza had been capable of such wickedness as this. On the final leg of the tour, Turles was taken to the palace to learn of the reason for his stay here. As he entered the throne room, inexplicable fear crept into the Saiyan's heart.

And it was for good reason.

As Turles made his way up a flight of gigantic steps surrounded by burning chalices, he met the god of Apokolips - Darkseid. Air retreated from the Saiyan's lungs as the massive being set his blazing red eyes upon him. Glancing at his hands Turles noticed they were shaking uncontrollably. Whoever Darkseid was, he was not to be taken lightly. An almost demonic voice greeted him as Darkseid ushered him forward.

The gray being properly introduced himself as the Lord of Apokolips. Turles would have been a fool not to thank him for his kindness. After a farce of pleasantries, the dark Lord informed the Saiyan that he had been watching him for some time now. The Saiyans, thought nearly extinct, were one of the few races he found intriguing. Their ability to grow more powerful after every battle was a trait his dark forces could use to their benefit.

Darkseid apologized for the harsh experiments, they had been done to discover the true extent of that incredible ability. But beyond that Darkseid was interested in Turles skills as a bounty hunter. His name was well known across the galaxy. There was a girl Darkseid had set his eyes on recently. Her powers would serve his army well if trained in the Apokoliptian way.

The only problem was the pact of nonaggression he had signed with some planet called New Genesis. Apokolips couldn't directly involve themselves in matters regarding other worlds without breaking the pact. But Turles could. The Saiyan had the proficiency to get the job done easily.

Momentarily Turles had considered turning down the offer. Sure Darkseid had saved him via Intri, but the dark Lord had also had him tortured for days because of some bizarre experiment. On the other hand, the Saiyan wasn't really in a position to bargain and Darkseid didn't seem like the type to take no for an answer. Turles conceded and accepted the job. Much to his surprise Darkseid even offered him a reward if he was successful.

The seeds to the tree of might were his if he brought back the girl. Turles was astonished. He had heard legends of the plant on various planets but had believed it to be a mere myth. Its fruits were stated to increase the power of whoever ate it by tenfold. He had to have it! Nothing would stand in his way!

If things went well the tree of might could potentially give Turles the power to defeat Darkseid himself in due time. He hated working for people like the Apokoliptan overlord, but the benefits far outweighed his ego. When he kneeled to bow he knew he was essentially selling his soul to the devil, but there was nothing that could be done it about it. It was a necessary evil.

"Bring me the girl named Koriand'r."

December 13th

Age 762 (2012), Planet Frieza 79

"Do you think we should inform the general? Vegeta is fully healed now." Planthorr asked as he read the prince's vitals. Everything was in good shape.

"Inform him? Yes, we should, but it won't be me to do it. I know the general already holds me in low regards, my mere presence might make him kill me." Malaka shook his head as he waved his arms. There was no way he would share the news.

Planthorr sighed, knowing very well that he would have to be the one to inform Wada.

"Should we release Vegeta from the rejuvenation tank now?"

Pausing, Planthorr pondered the thought for a moment. "We should. You should also get him dressed before I get back. Dying naked is not a proper way to die, even for someone like Vegeta."

Malaka nodded complying with his colleague's orders. "I'll have it done by the time you come back."

"Good."

With that the head doctor on Frieza planet 79 exited out of the sliding doors, heading towards the general's sleeping quarters.

Turning back around Malaka faced the rejuvenation tank.

"I guess it's time to release you from the tank huh?"

Vegeta simply remained floating in the green liquid. "Of course you're still unconscious." Malaka reached out towards the control panel and began pushing multiple buttons.

After a few seconds, he stopped as the water in the chamber began draining. With a large beep, the glass rolled down, allowing the prince to step out.

"You're healed Vegeta."

The Saiyan glanced at the reptilian snorting as he inspected his body.

"I know that you fool, clearly that's what rejuvenation chambers are for."

Malaka scowled at the tone of his voice. After all he had done for the Saiyan Vegeta still had the nerve to treat him with such disrespect. It was of no consequence though, the Saiyan would receive his comeuppance.

"I was simply stating a fact. But moving on to other matters, we need to get you dressed before Planthorr arrives."

Vegeta's brow rose at the mention of Planthorr's name. "Before we do, would you be so kind as to read me my power level using the scouter on that table?"

Malaka grunted before turning and picking up the device. Latching it on to his face, he read the power level as the scouter began beeping.

"27,000!"

Vegeta grinned at the flabbergasted look on the reptilians face. "It seems my excursion to Earth served me well, my power has increased significantly! Soon I shall be powerful enough for him!"

"I hope it's not our Lord that you're referring to Vegeta, you wouldn't want to be executed for insubordination and treason."

Vegeta turned and faced the direction of the new voice. His mood soured as he saw who it was.

"Kado, what a pleasant surprise to see you. What do you want, you bumbling fool?"

The claret alien simply scoffed. "Is that how you refer to your superiors Vegeta? You should watch your tone before I permanently shut that jaw of yours. You seem to forget that I outrank you."

Vegeta grit his teeth at the mention of his ranking. "Shut up! Your rank means nothing. You may be a colonel, but your power is meaningless compared to that of a Saiyan!"

"Getting under your skin, am I? Don't make me dispose of you like I did your brother!" Kado said smirking at the prince's enraged expression.

"Tarble? I don't care, he's no blood of mine! A Saiyan that weak isn't deserving of royal blood. Whatever you did to him is no concern of mine." Brothers by blood they may have been, but Vegeta felt no kinship towards that coward.

Kado's brow furrowed at the prince's words, he was sure the mention of his last remaining relative would rile him up.

"It doesn't matter anyway because you'll soon be joining him in hell after we execute you."

Vegeta lips twisted into an ice cold frown. "Execution? And what do you mean by we?"

Kado chuckled as he pointed to the shadows. "I mean my brother and me."

Vegeta's eyes nearly fell out of their sockets as he viewed a large, cyaneous, being step out from the shadows.

"How nice to finally meet you Vegeta I'd only heard stories about you before."

Vegeta's once calm demeanor shattered as he realized who was speaking. It was Abo, the other half of the dangerous duo. He'd heard rumors of their escapades together, about how they conquered dozen of planets in only a months' time. Until now he'd treated it as feeble gossip, but the warrior before him was proving otherwise.

"What do you want with me?" Vegeta said trying fiercely to conceal his growing sense of dread.

"You're wanted for insubordination and by orders of Frieza you are to be executed immediately."

Vegeta stumbled back as the words reached his ears. He knew disobeying direct orders from Frieza himself would have consequences, but he'd assumed he'd have the Dragonballs' power to protect him by now. Without the immortality he'd desperately sought out, he would be helpless against the tyrant's power.

"So that frozen lizard wants me dead huh? Interesting. I guess I must have made an incredible impression on him then. I'll comply but first allow me to dress, I wouldn't want to die naked."

Abo and Kado shared a perplexed look. They'd assumed the prince would put up a fight, something they'd both been hoping for, but he was conceding to their demands.

"I think we can allow him that one request can't we Kado? Besides I don't want to see a naked monkey walking around the complex."

Kado slowly nodded agreeing with his brother. "You have three minutes monkey. If you're not done by then we'll simply execute you on the spot."

Vegeta grit his teeth, resenting the language used but complied. Three minutes would be more enough time to prepare what he was planning.

"You, doctor, over there by the door," Vegeta said pointing towards Planthorr. "Show me to the lockers so I can put on my uniform."

The doctor nodded and motioned for Vegeta to follow him.

As the two took their stroll Vegeta noticed the twin soldiers trailing their every move. Damn it, this only makes my escape harder! I'll have to be extremely quick changing clothes if I'm truly going to pull off this stunt.

Coming to a halt in front of the locker room, Malaka pressed several buttons as the door slid open.

"Ex...Excuse me sir but it would be impolite to enter the room with Vegeta as he's dressing."

Abo and Kado scoffed at Planthorr but halted their march, they would simply wait outside.

Inside the room, Vegeta paced as he contemplated his next course of action. Having already worn his uniform he running on borrowed time.

First, that strange creature Kaiyo rescues me on Earth and now this. I still haven't figured out who she is, or what she wants from me, and now I'm suddenly facing an execution! It's just one problem after another.

Shaking his head, he stirred from his thoughts. His musings had cost him valuable time which he could not gain back. As glanced at the clock on the wall Vegeta realized he only had a minute left. What would he do?

Taking a quick glance at his surroundings, the Saiyan noticed a power switch located in the locker rooms. If his assumptions were correct, cutting the switch off could potentially depower this section of the building. He pondered it for a second longer before finally acting.

Summoning a Ki beam to his hands, he released it, completely incinerating the switch. The effects were immediate as the entire room went black, obscured by darkness.

Good. This is the perfect setting for my escape. Thanks to that little technique I learned from the Earthlings I'll be the only one who'll be able to move around in these settings.

Vegeta quickly summoned another Ki blast and used the light from the beam to locate another means of exit. Unleashing the beam he destroyed the door.

With that, the prince took off dashing through the new found hole, not bothering to even glance back.

Shit. How do you maneuver through this building? I've only been here once before, I don't remember my way around here. Running up a flight of stairs the prince cursed as he realized he'd just ran in a circle. Pausing momentarily, he jerked to his left and ran through the door nearby.

Hopefully, I can get to the hanger bay quickly. I need to get out of here before the power comes back. Vegeta halted mid-stride, as the power suddenly returned, once again lighting up the room. Crap. Glancing around the prince cursed as he realized where he'd ended up. He was in the mess hall.

"V-Vegeta what are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to be with Abo and Kado?"

Vegeta frowned at the birdlike being in front of him. He needed to get out of here before they caught on. He turned back towards the door, planting a foot to begin sprinting.

Attention all soldiers, the Saiyan known as Vegeta is attempting to escape! Bring him to the general Wada's quarters immediately! He's wanted at all costs, dead or alive, but preferably alive!

Vegeta cursed his luck as he heard the speaker's announcement. He was in deep trouble.

The tension in the room was palpable. Vegeta paused as he observed his surroundings. The sheer amount of enemies in the room was too insurmountable for him to overcome single handily. Though his power level had experienced a significant increase, he was still too weak to handle all of the warriors in the room.

Growling, he clenched his hands into a fist. His former comrades were beginning to draw in on him.

"What should we do?"

Vegeta's head jerked towards the direction of the voice.

"We have to follow our orders." Another soldier replied. "Not to mention there will surely be a reward for it. Besides, I never liked Vegeta anyway."

Vegeta scowled, glaring furiously at the two birdlike beings talking to one another. Though they outranked him he knew he could easily dispose of them.

"Shut up! If you're going to attack me then do it! I don't have time for your idle talk. Besides, it's not like you can handle an elite Saiyan anyway." Vegeta finished with a smirk, sliding into a fighting stance.

The two birdlike beings glanced at one another briefly before charging towards him.

"GET HIM!"

Vegeta's eyes widened as he watched the rest of the warriors in the room follow suit and tumble forward, mimicking the actions of their fellow soldiers.

The first bird warrior launched a large fist, aimed directly at Vegeta's head. Ducking underneath it, he jumped up in time to view his attacker's other fist drawing in on his face. Quickly back flipping out of harm's way Vegeta managed to avoid the attacks and landed, ending up on the opposite side of the mess hall.

He was quickly brought back to reality as a blue elbow rammed into his back. He stumbled several steps before managing to compose himself. Turning back around, he narrowly avoided a fist, courtesy of the sergeant of infantry five.

Stepping forward, he brought his arm, along with him, in a swinging motion and managed to deck the sergeant across the face, sending him flying across the room. Vegeta watched until he eventually crashed, slamming harshly against the steel wall.

Ducking as he sensed an attack passing overhead, he backflipped onto his feet and turned in the direction of his would-be attacker. Summoning Ki to his fingertips, he formed a cerulean orb of energy that sizzled as it roared through the air, eventually colliding with a soldier positioned near the entrance of the hall.

It detonated on impact, completely annihilating the poor soldier that had attempted to attack Vegeta from behind. His small victory was quickly forgotten as a Ki beam slammed into his shoulders snapping him back to reality. Peering down, the prince grit his teeth as he observed blood, those new arm canons were something else.

He growled as he flashed his aura, turning and facing the now trembling soldier in front of him. Vegeta frowned as he summoned Ki to his palm, he'd somewhat liked the private but this needed to be done. The boy screamed as Vegeta fired the blast, instantantly killing him.

Glancing at his charred remains Vegeta sighed, the boy had at least put up some semblance of a fight. Shoving the thoughts aside, he turned his attention back to the battlefield. He cursed under his breath as he observed the warriors circling around him.

Vegeta knew this formation all too well. He'd seen it used multiple times on opponents that were too powerful to be disposed of single-handedly. A group of soldiers would surround an enemy and slowly draw closer, preying on the fear emanating from said person. Once they had their enemy backed into a corner they would all simultaneously hail a flurry of Ki beams at their victim, thereby overpowering them and consequently eliminating them.

Unfortunately for these warriors, Vegeta knew what was about to occur. Summoning his aura to life, he formed twin Ki beams in his hands. Lifting his hands, he pointed them in opposite directions, one left, one right. The group of soldiers surrounding him tensed as their scouters picked up on the slight increase in Ki.

"His power level has jumped tremendously! From 4 to 15,000!"

"But that's impossible! He shouldn't have been able to handle so many soldiers with such a diminutive power level!"

Vegeta smirked as he heard the soldiers bickering with one another. They didn't know he could conceal his power level. Capitalizing on the momentary lapse of concentration, he released the two orbs of cackling Ki from his palms. The size of the beams doubled as they struck, killing the pair of soldiers. The remaining warriors gawked as they stumbled to get back into formation.

A wicked grin formed on the prince's face as he lashed out against the nearest soldier. With a quick karate chop to the throat, the oxygen to the soldier's lungs cut off instantly, causing him to slump to his knees, presumably dead.

Smirking as he turned, Vegeta sidestepped an oncoming punch from his left. Bringing his knee up, he slammed it into his attacker's chest, cracking his armor and causing a significant amount of pain.

As the soldier dropped to ground Vegeta brought his foot up encasing it with Ki. Bringing it back he slammed it on the soldiers back, slamming it straight through his back, snapping his spinal cord along the way. With the soldier subdued and presumably crippled Vegeta focused his attention on to another attacker, this one being the lieutenant of infantry four.

Jumping into the air, he narrowly avoided a Ki blast. Floating back down to the ground he was met with a fist to the jaw. His head snapped back, reeling from the force of the blow. He quickly recovered and recompensed the lieutenant with one of his own blows, striking the lieutenant in the chest. A gasp escaped his lips as he flew back, pain flaring across his chest.

He had no time to recover as Vegeta charged forward, slamming his palms into his chest.

"I don't have time to fight you weaklings, so I'll just end this now!"

The lieutenant could only utter a gasp as a beam of light washed over his chest, destroying his body atom by atom. A blood-curdling scream filled the air as he gazed upon the grinning prince.

"Goodbye!"

With a final shout, the beam completely overtook the lieutenant, obliterating his remains.

Bringing his hands down, Vegeta huffed as viewed the remaining warriors in the room. He had taken care of the weaklings, the strongest soldiers remained now. He sighed as watched the captain of infantry three charge forward. He wasn't sure how much power he had left to spare for this incoming fight.

Bringing his left arm up he managed to block the first blow, though it caused him to stumble back from the force. He managed to parry the next strike, this time in the form of a knee. Thrusting his hand forward he shot a beam of Ki at the captain.

The beam collided, though not in the way it was intended to. Bringing his arms up in an x formation the captain managed to block the attack. The beam clashed against his skin briefly before it was promptly slapped away.

Vegeta frowned as he watched his blast soar into the distance before it finally crashed, exploding against the ceiling. His frown instantly twisted into a smile as he unearthed a revelation. He'd ignored the possibility of escaping through the roof; it was his best option.

Smirking as he charged forward, he cocked his fist back. The captain instantly brought his arm up in preparation to the block the attack, only for Vegeta to vanish from sight.

"What the…."

The captain's sentence was left incomplete as Vegeta materialized behind him, slamming his leg into his back. The captain stumbled forward slamming into one of the tables in the mess hall. Seizing on the moment, Vegeta fired a finger beam into his back, thrusting him through the table.

Igniting his aura, Vegeta capitalized on the opening. His opponent wasn't finished but there was enough of a gap for him to escape through the roof. Jumping into the air, he shot multiple beams from his palms, blasting through the ceiling. He promptly flew through the holes he created, leaving behind a group of shocked soldiers.

"He's getting away; follow him!"

Shit. Vegeta cursed as he glanced behind, noticing the slew of warriors hot on his trail. Damn it! How am I supposed to escape them now? They're just going to keep chasing me!

Pausing in midair he turned and fired several luteous beams of energy, aimed randomly at the contingent of soldiers. The weaker ones were incapacitated by the blasts, but the higher ranking soldiers simply slapped them away. Realizing it was a fruitless effort, Vegeta decided to run once more, passing through the rec room.

"What the…Vegeta?!"

The prince simply ignored the shocked group of soldiers as he passed through the room and smashed through another ceiling. He had no time for distractions. Passing through another roof, this one taking him through a flight of stairs, he smiled as he realized he was drawing closer to the exit. One more ceiling and I'll be out of here!

As he passed through the final floor he gathered energy into his hands, forming a Ki blast. Releasing the beam, he smirked as it tore through the roof. The scent of the sky filled his nostrils as he finally arrived outside the building.

Flying directly above the spaceship hanger he paused as he viewed the soldiers halt along with him. He halted to look around, counting the number of soldiers he would have to kill. He frowned as he finished his count. Seventy soldiers. He would have to kill seventy soldiers to make to the spaceship hanger.

It was a challenge but the Saiyan blood circulating through his veins cried out for battle. Flaring his aura he smiled as he summoned a fireball to his hands.

"Give up Vegeta, there's no escape! Don't make this too painful on yourself!"

"Don't fool yourself Captain Strock, that scouter on your face can read power levels and mine clearly dwarfs your own!"

The captain scoffed, assuming Vegeta was bluffing. The Saiyan was a low ranking soldier anyway. Clicking his scouter his eyes widened as it beeped to a halt.

"20…..20,0000! That's….that's…..IMPOSSIBLE!"

Vegeta grinned at the astonished look on the captain's face.

"You should realize how outclassed you are by now, a mere captain like you will not be sufficient to handle me!"

A coarse laugh escaped the captain's lungs.

"You may outclass me, but even so, look at your surroundings! You're trapped by dozens of soldiers, even you can't be so arrogant as to believe you can survive against these odds!"

"It doesn't matter, I'll survive this battle and kill you all! I am the prince of all Saiyans, the last of the royal lineage, and I will not…."

"Vegeta cut the tirade already! We've heard your bullshit lines about your heritage before and no one wants to hear it."

Vegeta's lips quivered at the sound of a new voice.

"Surprised to see us here? Did you think you could really give us the slip Vegeta?"

Vegeta frowned as he saw the twin terrors, Abo and Kado. Blast! How am I supposed to escape now? I was already outnumbered and outmatched, but with Abo and Kado here, I have little chance of survival! No matter, as an elite Saiyan I shall not tremble before any warrior!

"I'll kill you all! It doesn't matter to me!

Abo and Kado scoffed, the sheer arrogance Vegeta possessed was mind-boggling.

"We'll handle you on our own Vegeta, we're more than capable of it"

"But Colonel we….."

"Shut up! We don't need your assistance, and this was originally our task anyway."

The soldier's conversation ended instantly as he heard the duo's words, there was no argument to be made as both brothers outranked all the soldiers present.

"I understand Colonel, we'll return back to base immediately"

"Good. Now hurry up, we want as much space as possible to dispose of this trash."

Captain Strock nodded. With a shout he ordered the remaining soldiers to follow him and return to the base, the rest of the mission would be handled by the brothers.

Vegeta smirked as he watched dozens of soldiers descend from the sky, retreating. Things were actually beginning to look up.

"Returning to your hole captain? You're lucky you've been spared from the humiliation you would have suffered at my hands." A cocky smile nestled onto the prince's face. He couldn't help but be smug at a time like this.

The captain halted his flight, turning and facing the Saiyan.

"Your arrogance is baffling. I can't believe how truly dense you are. You would have had better chances against us seventy soldiers than against Abo and Kado. They're monsters, and even certain generals would have trouble against them! I hope you've written your will because is your last battle you fool!"

A big thank you to everyone who reviewed chapter 27!

Authors Note: I'm sincerely grateful for every (constructive) review that I get. But lately, I've been noticing a trend where it appears that the same person or group of people is repeatedly reviewing my story. If you scroll through my reviews I'm sure you'll see what I mean. It's quite obvious due to the syntax of the review, the reviewer's names, and the content of the review.

It isn't necessarily a bad thing, but when I get multiple reviews that appear to be practically the same, and from the same person or group of people, it feels hollow and I cared purely about reviews I'd have a lot more. You guys can't see it but I've deleted a lot of reviews. I don't like inflated reviews. I'd rather get my reviews the right way. For that reason, I've decided to moderate my guest reviews going forward. If you have an account on this site it won't affect you though.

This chapter focused primarily on the two Saiyan villains, it's been a while since I touched on them. The other cast will show up in the upcoming chapters. As the cast continues to grow I'll have to figure out a way to give everyone enough screen time.

Q/A:

darkmist111: Diana's power hasn't plateaued. Donna is slightly younger than Diana and she is immortal like the rest of the Amazons.

DRAGONDAVE45: I do have plans for Supergirl and Cooler. I'm not sure but I believe I already explained why it's not possible for Kami or the Kai's to know what's happening with Diana.

Sailor Dragonball 87: I hope you got the explanation to some of your questions in this chapter.

EXTRA 9: 1. That's false and I never stated that. I stated Homo Magki have a predisposition towards Ki and learn how to use it easier. Non-Magki can learn how to use it, but with extreme difficulty. 2. Gohan's hidden power wasn't sealed. His Divine Ki was. 3. The Green Lanterns know about Vegeta. 4. IDK

JOEL: That's too many questions with too many spoilers. Shoot me a PM instead.

Warkaiser: Probably not.

Ryuga: Bardock is dead.

DIOS de la Nada: All of the groups you mentioned are simply categorized under the Shinjin pantheon in this story.

Ryuga: Zeus is pretty much a deadbeat so probably not.

Animeguy1101: I haven't seen his videos.

Reddepth: The fusion won't be affected.

Bruno Zaigot: Martian Manhunter's human name is John Jones. The spelling is correct.

ryuga kishatu: Gohan doesn't have blonde hair. Idk what you're talking about.

Team Soda: 1. My opinion of DBS is largely the same as it's always been. It's mediocre. GT had some good ideas but was overall terrible. 2. If you're referring to the TV versions of Young Justice and Teen Titans, then no. 3. There isn't going to be one consistent strongest character. Gohan will have a lot of potential in this story.

tenmen20: Lifting power has nothing to do with fighting ability. Your information about SSJ Goku is false.

JOEL: You were correct in your assessment, a lack of inspiration was the reason for the slow update. I can't work unless I am inspired.

Xample: I've heard of Absalon and I've watched it too. I'm not including anything to this story that isn't a part of the official Dragonball Franchise though.
