Chapter 17
A/N: Thanks for all the messages of support. Picks up where Chapter 16 left off. Words from previous chapters are written in italics. Memories are in bold. Whenever I try to write a short chapter it ends up being over 2k at least. Had to repost because of a formatting error, certain sentences needed to be bold or italic. Hopefully it's corrected as of 3pm December 4/2021.

Stabler Residence, Saturday Night
He had finally got his ass in gear and carried the heavy box full of empty beer, wine, and spirit bottles out to the curb, doing as his mother asked him. That's when, despite the crappy street lighting, he had seen her.
He called her name, but he figured she didn't see him as she paused and looked around, but still climbed into the back of a cab.
He knew he probably looked crazy as he ran after the taxi, yelling her name over, and over again.
Elliot bent over, breathing heavily, with his hands on his knees, as he watched her cab turn the corner, and drive out of sight.
"Fucking, fuck, fuck, fuck!" Elliot yelled, throwing his arms in the air angrily. He didn't normally swear a lot, she brought it out of him, either through anger or arousal.
Elliot leaned against a light post, he checked his phone to see if she had messaged him, at least to say she was leaving, but she hadn't.
Once he was sure he had caught his breath, Elliot turned, and slowly strolled back to his house, hands in his suit pockets, his head hanging heavily in defeat.

As Olivia leaned her head against the headrest, with her eyes closed, she couldn't help thinking about Nick's words, and how they made her think about Elliot.
Nick nodded, "When you meet someone special, and you make a connection with someone, unlike anything you've ever experienced before? Losing your job, or switching departments, is a small price to pay."
Olivia always thought her job was her life. She lived and breathed SVU, it ran through her veins, and ruined many past relationships for her. Elliot made her question those thoughts and feelings. However standing in the front hall with his parents, felt so wrong. She couldn't look either of them in the eye, especially when she thought about what she'd previously done with their son. It had been years since she had to deal with a boyfriend's parents. Even when she dated when she was younger, she tended to shy away from meeting her boyfriend's families, not really having one herself, she always felt uncomfortable around large 'normal' families.
She smiled though as she recalled a moment earlier in the day, in the Stabler backyard, thinking of families made her think of a conversation she overheard.
He didn't know she was watching him as he spun around the dance floor, with some of the younger kids at the party. His 4 year old cousin was perched on his hip, as he moved around the faux tiled floor in his backyard. Carisi was tossing her twin sister in the air when she overheard her detectives talking.
Elliot's Uncle was a cop too, up in Syracuse, and attended the party with his wife and kids. There had to be a couple hundred people that made their way through the Stabler house that day, but at that moment her eyes, and ears were locked on her two youngest detectives.
"Think you'll have some of your own some day?" Carisi asked Elliot, figuring the question would scare the mid-twenty year old, thinking about how immature he was at that age.
Elliot laughed as he playfully dipped his little cousin, who giggled loudly in his arms, "God I hope so! Sounds crazy I'm sure, but I can't wait to be a Dad."
Carisi was surprised by his answer, "Wow really, already?"
"Faster Sonny!" the toddler in his arms squealed excitedly, and squished his cheeks together.
Sonny laughed too as he tried to spin around more quickly, while not tripping over his own feet or getting dizzy.
"Yeah man, I dunno if it's because I'm the oldest, so I constantly took care of my younger siblings when my Father was busy working, but I'm beyond ready, what about you? Hear any little pattering feet in your future?"
Carisi chuckled, "I dunno I guess I wouldn't mind seeing a little blonde haired, blue eyed little boy, or girl, running into our bedroom every morning. Would be nice to be woken up in the morning by a child's laughter versus Benson's voice calling me into work."
Elliot grinned, Carisi had unknowingly confessed a lot in that one statement, those were some pretty specific traits, that matched another Detective in their squad. He however would be happy waking up to Olivia's voice every morning for the rest of his life. He couldn't help scanning the yard for the woman Carisi had mentioned, but he didn't see her.
Olivia had been surprised by their answers too. She also noticed Amanda standing on the other side of the yard, her gaze locked on Carisi, the same way hers had been glued to Elliot. Not wanting to be caught staring, Olivia moved on, spotting Cragen and his girlfriend in a small group of people, Casey and Melinda standing amongst them.
Olivia was brought out of her memory when the cab driver turned his attention to her, "We're here," he called in his thick Long Island accent, his body turned towards her as she reached into her purse, and paid him.
It didn't take her long to reach her apartment door. She sighed heavily as she leaned against it, having tossed her purse onto her kitchen counter, and locking her door. She stumbled as she kicked off her heels, they had been a bitch to walk in, on the mostly grassy backyard. She knew they made her legs and ass look great, but her stilettos kept sinking into the soft surface.
It was pushing 10pm, they had served finger foods at the party, and she wasn't particularly hungry after the events of that day unfolded, but she knew she should eat something before turning in.
Her fridge was once again particularly empty, save for some takeout she had got the night before. She popped the pizza into the microwave, watching it spin around.
Although watching her food heat up, she felt herself falling into another trance as she thought about how messy her life had become.
She knew they needed to talk, really talk, they couldn't leave things as they had, she felt like she was constantly feeling this way, but she was also nervous about inviting him over to her apartment. Not only did half her squad live in the area, but every time they were alone, they had proved they could not keep their hands to themselves.
Olivia was brought out of her thoughts by her beeping microwave. She grabbed her food and ate at her counter. She went through her work emails as she ate, to see what she had missed all day. Content that she responded to everything that needed her immediate attention, she quickly polished off her pizza.
Olivia flopped onto her couch, sighing as she laid her arm across her eyes. Not looking she turned on her TV, turning the volume on low, but enjoying the background noise. One thing Olivia loved about the city was the constant noise. Once a person got used to it, she believed it was hard to function in the silence.
Although it wasn't late Olivia felt herself dozing off, still wearing the dress she had worn to the Stabler's. It had been a long day at Cragen's retirement party, and arguing with Elliot had exhausted her.

Captain Olivia Benson's Office, Sunday Afternoon, 16th Precinct
Despite it being a Sunday, Olivia was woken up early do to a pressing case. Dodd's had called her, which caused her to call a meeting, that she needed most of her squad to attend as well.
That is how she found herself standing behind her desk addressing her detectives. Fin, Amaro, Stabler, Carisi, and Rollins, were all situated around her office.
"Married couples are being attacked at each Manhattan Pharmaceutical Convention," Olivia explained to the group at large. "Each of these conferences are for people in the pharmaceutical field for the Manhattan Pharmaceutical Committee, lots of money in the room, they hold events at different hotels in Manhattan each week. For the past 3 weeks a married couple has been attacked in their room after the conference. We need to send a couple in undercover, try to catch this perp in the act."
"Well Stabler proved he can handle himself undercover," Fin stated, "Him and Rollins should go under together, you still look pretty young 'Manda." Fin winked at the blonde causing some of the other detectives in the room to chuckle too.
Elliot noticed Olivia narrow her eyes, before speaking up, "I don't think Stabler needs to go under again so quickly, plus he was alone last time."
"Exactly," Nick replied, "This time he'll be going under with a partner, should be easier, he'll have someone to lean on. Plus they make a believable married couple. What do you say Stabler, think you can pretend to be Rollin's husband for a few hours?"
"You gonna give him pointers on how to be a good husband?" Carisi teased the divorced man, once again causing the rest of the members of the squad to laugh. Everyone except for Olivia, Elliot noted.
"Aw come on how hard can it be sugar?" Amanda drawled in her thick southern accent. "I won't bite, unless you're into that," Rollins joked.
Apparently Olivia was done with the comments, "Enough," she slammed her hands on her desk, "Rollins, you and Carisi can go under together. You're closer in age, and you both have more experience working together, I don't want to miss our chance at catching this guy."
Everybody in the room nodded, "What hotel is the next scheduled conference at?" Carisi asked.
"Uhhh, the Four Seasons, here in Manhattan," Olivia spent the next 20 minutes going into more specific details with her squad. Fin would work security, as Carisi and Rollins attended as the married couple. Olivia finished off the meeting by handing them folders, and orders to study their aliases before the conference on Monday, the very next day.
"Can I have a word Captain?" Elliot spoke up as the other detectives left her office.
"Five minutes I'm busy, I have to set things up for tomorrow," Olivia crossed her arms over her chest as she watched Elliot close her office door behind the other squad members, the blinds were already down.
He only waited a second before turning to face her.
"What the hell was that?!" Elliot exclaimed loudly.
"Keep your voice down, and what was what?" Olivia asked, looking down, the nails on her right hand drawing her attention.
"Don't play dumb, it doesn't suit you Cap," Elliot paced back and forth in front of her desk, trying to ignore how good she looked, even when purposely annoying him.
Olivia sighed loudly, "What do you want Stabler? I told you I'm busy." His confrontation was causing an odd sensation to crawl up her spine. As much as she liked teaching him things, and taking charge, she also liked his take charge attitude.
"What do I… You ended things with me, you don't get to act like a jealous ex when you're the one who got scared, and pulled the plug on this relationship, and that's exactly how you came across in that meeting!" Elliot had stopped in front of her desk, and jammed his finger on top of it to make his point.
Olivia looked down at the table between them. Even if they were just acting she couldn't stand the thought of having to watch him get cozy with another woman. She hated that he incited these thoughts and feelings in her though.
Olivia huffed loudly and rubbed her hands over her face.
"This, this right here is why this was wrong from the start, and can not continue," Olivia mumbled into her hands covering her face.
She gasped audibly when she was pushed against the counter behind her desk by a large pair of hands against her hips, she hadn't even heard him move.
Elliot nuzzled her nose with his, "What do you want?"
Olivia opened her mouth and closed it multiple times.
Elliot shook his head, placing his forehead against hers, "No, don't think about being my Captain, our jobs, protocol, our age gap, put a pin in all those things, and tell me what you want Olivia."
"I can't Elliot, we can't," Olivia whispered.
Elliot sighed, his breath brushing her lips. "Yes we can, we shouldn't, but we most definitely can. Liv you can't have it both ways, you can't end things, and then not let me do my job because you don't want to see me flirt with another woman. You can't break up with me, and get jealous if I speak, or date, or touch another wo-
Elliot's words were cut off when Olivia grabbed him by the back of his neck, and plunged her tongue into his mouth, tugging his bottom lip with her teeth.
Elliot leaned back, breaking the kiss, "No, you can't do this if we're not-"
"I can't hear you talk about touching other women Elliot," Olivia confessed
"So you kissed me to shut me up?" Elliot huffed angrily, dropping his hands from her hips.
"Yes," Olivia nodded, grabbing him by both cheeks before he could move away. "No," she said lightly.
"Which is it?" Elliot whispered into the inches separating their lips.
"Elliot can you please understand how hard this is for me?" Olivia suggested defensively.
"You wanna talk about hard," Elliot joked as he thrust his hips against her, pinning her to the low cabinets behind her desk.
She couldn't stop the breathy laugh from leaving her lips. She looked into his sad eyes, "I'm serious."
"So am I, tell me if we met under different circumstances and none of this," Elliot spun his index finger around in a circle, "Existed, what would you want Olivia?"
Olivia sighed heavily, she spread her legs, one of his slipping in between hers, "The problem is this does exist. I can't keep living in fairytale land, or ignoring all these obstacles anymore."
She could literally see his normally bright baby blues get dimmer the moment her words registered with him. She couldn't stand to see those defeated feelings on his face. Normally she would have kissed him, or used her body to cheer him up, but she took a different, more mature route. "If all of this didn't exist, and we met somewhere else, you, all I'd want is you."
Elliot looked up into her eyes after his expression had dropped. "Really?"
Olivia nodded slowly.
"Then let's figure this out, Liv you're one of the smartest woman I know, and I can be pretty crafty when I put both my heads to it-"
Olivia leaned her head against his shoulder, her long hair shielding her face, he could feel her shaking. "You just can't help yourself," she laughed lightly.
Elliot smiled, he loved that he could make her laugh.
Olivia straightened up, she smoothed her hands over his work shirt covered shoulders. He looked so handsome with his shirt sleeves rolled up, his blue shirt matching his eyes. "You really want to pursue this further?"
"I think I've made that pretty clear," Elliot moved his hands back to her jean clad hips, rubbing them in small circles.
"Even if it cost you your position here?" Olivia squeezed his shoulders and ran her hands down to his strong pecs.
"Don't get me wrong, I like it here, and I appreciate everything you, and Nick have taught me, but yes I'd be more than willing to move to a different department, if it meant dating you, without the fear of getting caught."
Olivia sighed, "I don't know why you're so different, you bring out emotions in me that no one else has ever illicit."
"Like jealousy?" Elliot probed her further.
"Yes exactly, a terrible trait that I normally hate in other people."
"Hmmm," Elliot hummed as she adjusted her hips, she was unknowingly rubbing against his hip bone. "I use to think that too, but I find it oddly flattering, you, hell even I, wouldn't be jealous if we didn't care."
Olivia stared into his eyes, she wasn't quite sure what she was looking for. Sometimes she couldn't believe how young he was, because he showed her time and time again how mature he was for his age when it counted. He also spouted constant words of wisdom when she least expected it. Like now, she always thought jealousy was an ugly thing, until now.
Olivia reached forward with one hand. She swiped her thumb over his thin soft bottom lip. She continued to move her hand, tracing his clenched jaw, she pulled him forward as her fingers curled behind his head. She brushed her lips against his, just barely ghosting over them.
They both opened their mouths, their lips glancing off the others, breathing the same mixed air into their lungs.
She knew it wasn't the proper time, or place to be having such an intimate moment with her younger Detective, but she threw caution to the wind as she stared into Elliot's open eyes.
They were connecting on a level she had never experienced, despite being the more experienced person in their relationship. Olivia gave in and pulled him closer, she closed her eyes and nipped at his top lip, smoothing her tongue over it before tugging it into her mouth.
She caught his moan in her mouth before releasing one of her own. She let go of his lips as she sunk her lower body against his firm thick thigh. "I'll look into it," her voice was already an octave lower.
"Yeah?" Elliot asked, tangling his fingers in her silky soft mahogany locks and reconnecting their lips.
He felt Olivia nod against his head, and rock against his thigh. Fuck, he thought, was this another way he could get her off? It was definitely something he had never attempted before. He'd prefer doing it differently if he was going to do it at all, however a light bulb went off in his head. He knew he couldn't actually do what he wanted to, but maybe he could use his words instead. As much as he loved her taking charge, he had a feeling she liked when he stepped up and surprised her with his confidence.
He released her lips and kissed across her heated cheeks to her ear, "You gonna come against my leg?"
He felt her physically tremble in his embrace, but she didn't respond verbally.
"Hmmm, you know if we were at your place, I'd take off my pants, and strip yours away. I'd rip off those soaked panties, and you wanna know what I'd do next?" Elliot whispered in her ear, licking the shell, and tugging her lobe into his warm wet mouth.
He heard the softest whimper leave her mouth, but still she didn't respond. He felt her bare down harder against his thigh. He imagined the seem of her jeans were stimulating her perfectly.
"I'd reach down, run my hand over your mound, through your warm wet juices, and spread your swollen lips. I'd open you up so your clit would be rubbing right against my firm leg. Then I'd grasp your glorious ass and press you harder against me," Elliot rasped sensually.
He heard her breath hitch as she gasped and stuttered. She ground against him, and he thought he could almost feel her heat through both their pants.
She gyrated on his leg, the zipper of her jeans rubbing perfectly against her slit, and clit. His words just pushed her over the edge. Her body trembled, and she hid her head in the crook of his neck.
She breathed heavily against him, slightly embarrassed by how quickly she had climaxed, and with no additional help from his body. She had rocked herself to that orgasm. Yes his words spurred her on but aside from that he barely even touched her. There was no fondling of her breasts or squeezing her ass like he described.
"You'd think I was the virgin in this relationship, not you," Olivia tried to recover and catch her breath.
She felt Elliot's smile against her temple.
"As much as I'd like to stay, and erase that status, if we're not ready to get caught, I should get out of here," Elliot maneuvered his mouth until he could connect it with her forehead.
He heard Olivia let out another heavy sigh, "Yes you should."
"You don't want to let me go, do you?" Elliot inquired, tilting his head.
Olivia shook hers, "No, no I don't, another feeling you've brought out in me that I'm not use to."
"Hmmm, well I'm sorry, I don't know how I've done that, but I'm not going to apologize for it, because I've felt that for you from the very start," Elliot confessed.
Olivia took a deep stabilizing breath, and pushed him away, finally disconnecting their bodies.
"You're okay?" Elliot asked as he walked backwards towards her office door.
She nodded, never disconnecting her orgasm brightened eyes from his.
She watched as he grabbed the doorknob, she expected him to turn and open it when he paused.
"The Four Seasons in Manhattan?" Elliot questioned.
Olivia furrowed her brows, "What of it?"
She watched as a wide grin broke out across his face, "Oh it's nothing, just a happy memory from an event I attended a couple years ago in their ballroom."
She watched as he smirked and left her office, leaving her to try to ignore the moisture in her pants, and wonder how on earth their assignment would go the following day.

A/N: No more angst for the time being, need more happiness in my life. Thank you for all your sweet messages about my health. Unfortunately I had to bury my Grandma yesterday, 95 years old, her and my 93 year old Grandpa helped raise me. It's been a rough week and I used this to once again distract me from the pain physically and mentally. Thanks to COVID laws and my doctor screwing up my medical exemption, I had to stream it from home. Broke my heart.
