A/N: One of the characters who I will be adding to this story has history on both shows, however I will be drastically changing their background, and they will actually be related to a current squad member. The other person joining this story is still up in the air, so if there is someone you're interested in seeing in this story, please let me know, review/comment, DM me on FFN, or on IG and the blue bird app new2svu2017.

A/N 2: Picks up where we left off, and if you need a slight refresher on a character in this Chapter 57, I introduced her back in Chapter 46, Elliot's slightly younger sister Claire, who's currently studying to be a nurse. Here's a new Chapter since we don't have a new SVU or OC tonight!

Disclaimer: You'd all have seen a different finale if I was the boss.

Chapter 57

Thursday July 4th 2013, 16th Precinct Manhattan

Olivia had barely made it inside the building before she literally ran into Fin, she pressed her hands against his chest, as he grabbed her forearms, and she was happy it wasn't the other way around.

"Woah, where's the fire?" he asked, in reference to her rushed state.

"Uhhh I just gotta get back to my office, I ummm-"

"Holy shit," Fin released her, and slapped the button for the elevator, "What the hell happened to you?!"

Olivia smiled, and stepped onto the elevator, surprised when he got on with her, "I guess I got too close to the car wash station."

"I'll say," Fin nodded, "Ummm look… please don't take this the wrong way, but if you're trying to keep your pregnancy a secret, then you may not want to wear a soaking wet see through shirt that's clinging to your body."

Olivia side eyed her friend, but he was staring resolutely up at the ceiling, "Fuck, is it really that noticeable?"

"Yep," Fin nodded, barely shifting his eyes to quickly look at her, which he instantly regretted, "Ughhh I know that look… what do you need me to do?"

Olivia had been giving him her best 'help me' expression, "Just cover me as I try to make it to my office, intercept anyone who might try to talk to me, pleaseeeeee Uncle Fin."

"Wow you are desperate," Fin muttered as the elevator dinged, and opened on their floor, "Come on let's go," he grumbled unhappily.

Elliot had barely made it inside the building when he literally ran into another person.

"Ca-seeeeey," he exclaimed, "Shit you okay?"

Casey regained her balance, "Me what about you? And watch where you're going Stabler, you need to be more aware of your surroundings, and the people around you."

"Yeah, yeah, sorry Casey I'd love to chat but I actually have somewhere I need to be-" Elliot called over his shoulder as he opened the door to the stairwell, he didn't have the patience to wait for an elevator.

He was surprised when Casey followed him, "No Stabler I was being serious, you need to keep your eyes peeled."

Elliot grunted and rolled his eyes at the woman following him up the stairs, "Look Counsellor I said I was sorry-"

"Why are you all wet?" Casey questioned as they continued to climb the cement steps.

"My hose got away from me," Elliot said the words, as if they explained his current state of soppy dress.

"Wow after your not so little striptease assignment, I would've thought you could handle a large hose, Tony has no trouble with his," Casey was as blunt as could be.

"Glad that's still working out for you," Elliot huffed as they climbed flight after flight.

"Thanks, well anyways I wasn't referring to you running into me in the lobby, I'm trying to warn you that Kathy, that girl you took to the Governor's ball is here, and she's on a mission to find yo-"

Casey stumbled on the landing outside of the Special Victim's Unit, after walking into Elliot's back.

"What?!" he exclaimed, turning to face her, "Why the hell didn't you say that downstairs the moment you ran into me?!"

"You ran into me," Casey countered, pointing a finger at him.

Elliot rolled his eyes and placed his hands on her shoulders, "Casey focus! What do you mean Kathy is here?"

Casey shrugged, "I've worked with her a few times since that eventful night, and she's mentioned wanting to reconnect with you. Guess she thought this would be a good excuse to 'accidentally run into you,' hah she would've killed to be in my position a couple minutes ago."

Elliot closed his eyes, and pinched the bridge of his nose, "Fuck," he whispered.

"Anyways thought I'd give you a heads up, good luck… that girl's like a dog with a bone," Casey pulled open the door to their floor before Elliot could even move.

"Casey wait, he pleaded as she left him in the stairwell. He tried to look out the small window on the door, figuring that's where Kathy would most likely be, waiting to 'run into,' him, on his unit, but he couldn't spot her blonde head.

Elliot sighed, all he wanted was to grab some clean dry clothes, and meet Olivia on the roof.

His last week at SVU was turning out to be the longest week of his life.

"Captain Benson is that you?"

Olivia froze beside Fin, her office was only 10 feet away, and she seriously considered ditching Fin and making a run for it, but Fin's voice froze her in place.

"Sergeant Stabler, Mrs. Stabler, it's so nice to see you two," Fin greeted, partly shielding his Captain's body with his own.

The older couple nodded politely, "Fin Tutuola," he pressed a hand to his chest, "I was at Captain Cragen's retirement party, I'm a Sergeant in this unit, I work with your son…"

Olivia nearly snickered as Fin listed the different ways the Stabler's might have known him.

"Of course," Joseph Stabler smiled slightly, "How are you? It's good to see you, and you Captain Benson."

Someone coughed lightly beside them, it was only then that Olivia noticed another woman, she was the same height as Bernie, with a short blonde bob.

"My apologies where are my manners, this is our eldest daughter Claire, she's only a couple years younger than our boy Elliot, and she's almost graduated too," Bernie explained.

"Claire sweetie, this is Elliot's lady boss, Captain Benson," Bernie pointed at her then quickly covered her mouth with both hands, "Oh I'm sorry dear I didn't mean to say it like that, it's just so weird to me still, a lady cop, and one who's in charge no less."

Bernie laughed awkwardly.

Olivia turned her attention to Elliot's sister, she was embarrassed to say she had seen her before, as she hid under her boyfriend's bed. Olivia stuck out her hand, "It's a pleasure to meet you."

"The pleasures all mine," the younger woman smiled sweetly, "Elliot's spoken very highly of you, he didn't mention how beautiful you are too!"

Joseph coughed, and rubbed his greying sideburn, "Well not that Benson's not quite the looker, but I suppose it'd be pretty unprofessional now adays for Elliot to point that out.

Olivia frowned, as Bernie and Joseph chuckled lightly, and just as she opened her mouth to speak, Fin interrupted her.

"Pretty sure that would've been inappropriate at any time," he pointed out, making Olivia beam with pride.

"Hmmm well…" Joseph trailed off.

Olivia couldn't help noticing the way Claire was watching her, as if her steely blue eyes, which perfectly matched her boyfriend's, had some kind of X-ray capabilities.

Olivia crossed her arms over her chest, "Sorry to cut this short, but I'm in desperate need of a change of clothes. I fear I got too close to the car wash downstairs."

"Oh isn't that funny, I think that's where Elliot's working today, did you see him?" Bernie asked as she clapped her hands together.

"You know what Mrs. Stabler, she didn't get a chance because I accidentally sprayed her before she even got close to the rest of the crew down there, if you'll excuse her she's just gonna-" Fin tried to give her an excuse to leave the awkward conversation.

"Actually we were hoping to have a quick word with you if that's alright dear?" Bernie spoke softly, her blue eyes pleading with Olivia.

"Ummm, sure? Do we need some privacy or-"

"Nonsense, I was just wondering, well you see…" Bernie began but Joseph cut her off.

"Bernadette I told you not to broach this subject-" Joe mumbled in her ear.

"He's my son, and I can ask her anything I want!" Bernie snapped quietly.

"The thing is Elliot's still so young, and he was just shot not long ago, yet he seems to be working ridiculous hours. Half the time he doesn't even come home at night. Is that normal practice? Because he's the newest on your unit, he has to work nights, and weekends? The worst hours, and the longest shifts? Not to mention it sounds like the most dangerous too-"

Olivia held up her hand, "Let me stop you there for a moment Mrs. Stabler."

"Bernie please," the older woman insisted.

Olivia nodded, "I can assure you both that Elliot isn't working any more, or less than any of my other Detectives did when they started, or myself even now for that matter. I also know how dedicated your son is to his profession, and quite frankly a lot of us have that mentality. We don't feel we can go home, or take time off until we 'catch the bad guys' and get justice for our victims."

Olivia cleared her throat, "Elliot is very determined to learn as much as he can from his superiors in the unit, and sometimes that does require staying late to learn a new skill. And the best way to master something is through repetition which he quite often uses his weekends for, to uh refine his techniques."

Fin coughed beside her, he seemed to be choking on something, but Olivia knew he was simply trying to hold in his laughter.

Still trying to keep her body angled away from the Stabler's Olivia thumped Fin on his back, "My point is, you should be proud of your son, he is shaping up to be a very well rounded Detective, who would excel in any unit, and any department would be lucky to have him. I'm sorry to cut this short but I really have to get back to my office, work never ends when you're the one in charge, I hope you guys can enjoy the festivities."

Olivia finally made it to her office door, and unlocked it, pushing a shaking Fin inside. She closed the door before rounding on him, "Really Tutuola?"

Fin was laughing so hard he was wheezing, "I mean…"

He wiped a tear from the corner of his eye, "When Mama Stabler asked why you were workin' her poor baby boy to the bone day and night, I think I saw your eyes bug out of yo' head. Damn I nearly shi-"

Olivia turned around and waved her hand dismissively, "Yes I get it, that's another bump in the road we need to address at some point. I especially didn't like the way his sister was eyeing me."

"Hah if that's the only Stabler that's on to you, I think you should consider yourself lucky Cap," Fin smiled at his flustered friend.

"Get out," Olivia stated, not quite seeing the amusement in her situation yet.

"Awww come on, you're not really mad at me right?" Fin pressed.

"No but I am about to change all my clothes so unless you want to see me nak-"

"I'm out," Fin called, throwing a peace sign over his shoulder and walking out of her office.

Olivia rolled her eyes, hoping Elliot would be waiting on the roof for her, having obviously not been delayed by some unexpected visitors.

XxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxX

He couldn't hide in the stairwell forever, especially with all the foot traffic in it today, it wasn't safe either. Maybe he could make it to the roof by staying out of the main hallways. He could sneak from interrogation rooms, to conference rooms, hopefully they wouldn't be too full, he needed to get to the cribs somehow as well.

Elliot took a deep breath, and pulled the door open, he kept his head down and made a beeline to the stairs in the unit that lead up to the cribs.

Fortunately for him he didn't see anyone in the small lounge area outside the cribs, and it gave him a perfect view of the rest of the unit.

He was in and out of his locker in a couple minutes, choosing to change into some fresh clean clothes in the privacy of the deserted room. He replaced his soaking wet t-shirt with an identical one. The precinct had provided them with staff shirts for most of Detectives and unis.

Elliot jogged down the stairs, all he had to do was take another staircase up to the roof. He could take the elevator to the top floor and another smaller staircase but he didn't want to risk running into more people by the elevators.

Just as he passed Munch and a group of extremely bored children, he saw a blonde head, with pale skin, and a pointed nose whom he recognized. With nowhere to hide he rushed to Munch's side, and clapped him on the shoulder.

Munch smiled at him, "Hey children, this is the newest member to the 16th precinct Detective Elliot Stabler. Elliot how would you like to share a few words with these young ones about what it's like to grow up in a family with cops?"

"See kids, Elliot's an officer, his father was an-"

Elliot tuned out when Kathy spotted him. He could barely hear Munch explaining his family history to his audience. Kathy signalled that she wanted to talk to him, but he simply shrugged, mimicked talking with his hand and pointed at the kids, then his watch, while shaking his head.

He saw her heavy sigh, and roll her eyes, her shoulders slumping in defeat. He tracked her until he saw her get onto an elevator.

Turning his attention back to Munch he heard him say, "Anything you want to add to that subject Detective Stabler?"

Elliot shook his head, "Don't do drugs, and stay in school," he pointed at the bored children, before making a dash towards the back staircase.

Elliot didn't care if his words of wisdom made sense or not. He had kept the love of his life waiting long enough.

XxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxX

The elevator chimed as Elliot opened the stairwell door. It was rather serendipitous, "Where have you been?" they asked at the same time.

"Never mind."

"Doesn't matter."

Olivia rushed forward, pressing for forearms against his firm chest, her fingers brushed his jaw as she sealed their lips together.

"Mmmm," Elliot grasped her hips, pulling her close, he could feel her chest pressing into his.

"God I need you," she muttered between heated kisses, as he slipped his tongue between her open lips.

"So beautiful Liv," Elliot slid his hands around her body, slipping his hands into her back pockets, he placed a leg between hers, pulling her against his body, until her core was grinding along his thigh.

"Wa-aait, come on," Olivia hummed as she broke their kiss, and separated their heated bodies, tugging him up a short final flight of stairs to the roof access.

They both groaned, and not in pleasure when they saw the heavy chain and padlock baring anybody from going out onto the roof.

"Fuck, I forgot they mentioned in the memo about today that they'd be cordoning off the roof, they didn't want any patrons accidentally going out there, or purposely going out, and having some kind of accident!" Olivia slapped her hands against the door, leaning her forehead against the cool surface, and closing her eyes in defeat. It felt like every person on the planet was cock blocking them that week.

Elliot rubbed his hand along her lower back, he kissed her shoulder, "We'll think of someplace else. As long as I can be alone with you, I don't care where we are Liv."

Olivia turned her head to face him, "I feel like people are trying to keep us apart this week. The more they try, the more I yearn for you more, and more."

"Me too, come on let's think, where can we sneak off to for a little alone time before the fireworks tonight?" Elliot prompted his girlfriend, he didn't care where her gorgeous mind came up with, he'd follow her anywhere.

A/N: I left this open for a reason, here's your chance if there was ever a room/area in the precinct you wanted to see EO get it on in? No room is off limits, and you can vote on the activities too. Including the roof, I can still easily make that work.

A/N 2: I'm also still taking suggestions for who you want to see fill the spots being vacated by Elliot and Carisi in the unit. Happy Reading!
