Cody used his infinite cube to get all the furniture out, and they moved it all into where they wanted it in the new house. Within an hour, they got everything where they wanted it, and on a trip to the grocery store, they were stocked up on food. They decided to celebrate and invite their friends over for dinner. Blitzo was the main cook while Loona and Cody were preparing everything – setting up the tables, getting cold drinks out, playing smooth music, and lighting scented candles. Loona was cooking some spaghetti aglio e olio for Cody and the other guests. Cody baked some Italian garlic bread and cut them into slices to be prepared nicely for everyone. Blitzo was cooking salmon with fried rice and was very proud of his work with all the seasoning and sauces. Cody was wearing black faded loose jeans and a nice white collared shirt that had a black tribal dragon design on it. Loona put on a nice black sweater with white stripes and tied her hair in a ponytail, looking really beautiful. Blitzo put on a black and red collared shirt with grey pants. The doorbell rang, and Cody answered.
Cody's face lit up joyfully, "Crystal! Serena!"
"Hey, kiddo," Crystal said.
Crystal and Serena arrived. Cody wasted no time as he hugged them both. They both had to leave Imp City as well. They're currently living with some friends in Howler Haven, which is a town just ten minutes from Nightmare City. It's a real Hellhound Hound community town, so they felt welcomed.
"I'm so happy to see you. It's been a long time," Cody said.
"Yeah, it has. You've gotten bigger and taller," Serena said.
"Thanks. Training in the time chamber made me physically older. So, how's Howler Haven?"
"It's good. We're staying with some friends for now until we can find a place of our own. The people there are big fans of yours and Loona's," Crystal said.
"Yeah, there's a lot of that going around," Loona said with a glum look.
"Also, congratulations on being knighted. That's big, and you're the first human to be knighted. So, you're making history," Serena said.
"Yeah, I guess I am," Cody said.
Crystal and Serena looked around and were amazed at Cody, Loona, and Blitzo's new place.
"Love the design, especially the big windows," Crystal said.
"Yeah, nice feature with the stairs and the lights. Oh man, you got a backyard pool!" Serena spoke with envy.
Then Vortex and his girlfriend Loraine showed up. Loraine was a female Hellhound with white and red dreadlocks. She was a DJ of rap and hip-hop. She wore faded black jeans and a torn black T-shirt with a big red 'X' on the chest. They brought a big bottle of wine as a housewarming gift.
Then Kimi and Shadow, followed by Millie and Moxxie, and Charlie and Vaggie. The couples dressed nicely for dinner. Charlie and Vaggie looked gorgeous in their dresses. Stolas showed up with his daughter Octavia. Cody and Loona greeted them warmly. Of course, Stolas flirted with Blitzo while he was cooking. Everyone congratulated Cody and Loona on being knighted. They all brought housewarming gifts like wine, candy, candles, and plants. The Hellhounds sniffed the air.
"I gotta say, that kitchen smells amazing," Shadow said.
"Yeah, we're going all out here," Loona said, preparing the spaghetti.
Cody walked around for everyone to have slices of garlic bread, fresh from the oven and warm with butter and garlic salt.
"Hmm, oh Satan! This is delicious," Charlie said, munching on her slices.
"Thanks, I made them," Cody said, smiling.
Vaggie turned to him, surprised, "You made these?"
"He sure did. The garlic salt was a nice touch, and those are Helloxide-free," Blitzo added.
"Well, if all else fails, you'd make a good baker," Moxxie said.
"So, how's the hotel?" Cody asked.
"It's good. Rosie found some new guests, and they seemed committed. Although, I am worried about the war reaching Pentagram City. Alastor had to go in full demon form to kill off rioters and looters last week," Charlie answered.
"Plus, I had to get my hands dirty and waste some low lives that wanted to turn our hotel into a headquarters for the VVV," Vaggie added.
"I'm sorry to hear that, but we have good news. We got a few leads about Angel Dust," Cody said.
Charlie and Vaggie turned to him wide-eyed.
"You do?!" Charlie asked.
"Yeah, we made some new friends here in Nightmare City," Millie said.
"They said either Niss or Molly might know where he is or where he went. So, they're gonna reach out to them," Moxxie added.
"Well, that's good," Charlie said.
Then the doorbell rang.
"Who's that? Who else is coming?" Blitzo asked.
"I invited Verosika," Cody said.
Blitzo rolled his eyes and groaned.
"Hey! Be nice, and she'll be nice. Misbehave and Loona will kick your butt," Cody warned.
As he went to the door, Loona said, "He's right. I will. Besides, Verosika has really turned over a new leaf. She's not the same bitch that kidnapped Cody. So, just be nice like usual and maybe. Just maybe. You two can be friends. Maybe."
"Come on, Blitzy, don't ruin this night," Stolas begged in his ear.
Blitzo let out a sigh, "Fine. However, we'll need to get some soda or carbonated water because she's on the wagon and wants to stay on it. So, no wine for her."
"Got it. Let's see what you have here," Stolas said, looking through the frig.
Cody answered the door to find a gorgeous Verosika Mayday dressed nicely for tonight. She was wearing a lovely tight black dress with sparkling white beads all over them. She had a pair of ruby earrings that matched her red diamond necklace, and her hair was tied in a ponytail with her bangs out. Cody greeted her with a kind smile, and she returned the same before pulling him in for a hug and kiss – both her shampoo and perfume smelled heavenly. Her eyes glistened when Cody kissed her back as he hugged her.
"Hey, Verosika," Cody said.
"Hey, honey. Love your house. It's amazing," Verosika said.
"Is it just you tonight?"
"No, my boyfriend is bringing the basket of housewarming gifts."
Blitzo turned, "Boyfriend? You have a—?"
He stopped when Cody, Vortex, and Loona gave him a look.
"I mean, that's wonderful. Glad he could join us," Blitzo said politely.
Verosika glanced at Cody before looking back at him unsurely, "Thanks."
"Do we know him?" Cody asked, looking past her.
"Actually, you do know him. So please, everyone, be nice to him and don't make fun of him," Verosika requested.
Everyone looked at her, confused, as they titled their heads or raised their eyebrows.
"Why would we make fun of your boyfriend?" Vortex asked.
"Yeah, that's a mean thing to do. We wouldn't do that," Moxxie said.
"I'm sure we're gonna love him," Charlie said.
Verosika spoke, "Weeeeeelllll . . ."
Then an Imp demon with big curled horns with a top hat showed up with a big basket full of gifts. He was skinny as a toothpick, but they couldn't see his face beyond the basket.
He set it down in the living and stood up, "I say, I say, this house is wonderful! I'm so grateful to be invited!"
Everyone exclaimed, "Wally?!"
Wally's smile disappeared and was replaced with a confused look.
"Wally Wackford is your boyfriend!?" Vortex pointed.
"Wally!" Cody cheered before he lifted him in a big bear.
Wally choked a little from being squeezed and chuckled, "Well, I missed you too, Cody, and I say, I say, you've gotten stronger since the last time we met. Also, more powerful with your powers and all."
Cody set him down, "Yeah, a lot has happy but . . . I'm sorry, it's really good to see you. You've always been cheerful with sunshine, and we could use some of that in our lives, right guys?"
Everyone glanced at each other before answering.
"Oh, of course!" Octavia spoke first.
"Absolutely!" Kimi added.
"Definitely," Charlie and Vaggie said.
"Sense of humor goes a long way," Shadow added.
"It does. So, Wally, I take your business in Imp City is, you know," Loona started.
"Oh, don't worry about me. I've got more than one business, and I'm considering setting up shop here in Nightmare City. Everyone's going to Nightmare City. It's really making a comeback," Wally explained confidently.
"So, for real, you and Verosika are dating?" Blitzo asked.
"I say, I say, yes we are! We moved in together a week ago."
"That's great, congratulations—both of you. I'm proud of you, Verosika," Cody said.
"Thank you, Cody," Verosika said before they sat on a couch, "So yeah, we're-we're going steady, and he's been so supportive of me staying clean. We're still working on setting up businesses, but we'll have something going. Sooner or later, I'll get back out there with music."
They talked some more, and Cody handed out cold drinks to everyone. Some had wine, some had champagne, and some had carbonated water or soda. Then the doorbell rang again. It was Slade with Kyo. Kyo was dressed nicely in a navy blue shirt with green flames on them and tight pants with the same design. Slade wore a black collared shirt with a neat blue design on them that was the same blue as the highlights of his hair. Kyo was smiling as Cody greeted them, but Slade looked nervous.
"Slade, Kyo, glad you could join us," Cody greeted.
"Sorry, we're late. I had to find something nice for Slade to wear that was his size," Kyo said, putting his arm around his friend's shoulder, "Oh, and something came up for Tim. So he won't be joining us, but he sends his regards.
"Well, it's good to see you two," Cody let them in, "Everyone, this is Slade and Kyo. Some of you have met these two, and others haven't. These are the newest members of I.M.P."
Everyone said hello to them. Loona came over and stood with Slade. Slade met Vortex and his girlfriend, Loraine. Octavia and Kyo were happy to see each other and flirted with each other a few times. Cody passed out more of the garlic bread slices. Then dinner was finished, and everyone sat down to dine in. Of course, the food was spectacular.
"So Cody, how are you and the others enjoying Nightmare City?" Loraine asked.
Cody finished chewing his food before answering, "I think it's a neat town. There's a lot of cool stuff and places here. I don't want to be mean to Imp City, but that place was . . . it was—"
"A dump?" Verosika guessed.
"No. Well, actually, yes. A lot of it was."
"You don't have to be so humble and modest, Cody. Most of us never really like that town to begin with," Loona stated.
Cody turned to Millie and Moxxie.
"Don't look at me. I'm a country girl. Cities never felt like home to me. My Moxxie is home," Millie stated as she stroked her fingers through Moxxie's hair.
"It was better than Notamafia Town and most of Greed, but yeah, it still sucked," Moxxie agreed.
"I'd take Imp City over L.A.," Octavia said before sighing, "Oh Satan, I am never going back up there again. I don't care what people say; L.A. was the worst."
"Yeah, it's not for everyone. Now, San Francisco is a fun town on the surface. There are a lot of cool restaurants. I recommend that place over L.A. Much better experience, I promise," Kyo assured with a smile.
"Well, you're gonna like Nightmare City, I promise you that. You'll find this is a fun town. I grew up here, and I've been thinking of returning to do my raves and Hellhound parties," Loraine said.
"We could use a Hellhound party," Crystal said, looking at her plate.
"God, tell me about it. I haven't partied since we had to leave Imp City. There's supposed to be one in Howler Haven, but we don't really know anyone that's going," Serena said.
"Why don't you come to one of our Hellhound parties, you two and Loona, Shadow, and Slade?" Vortex offered.
Slade looked up from his food, concerned.
"Oh, Hell yeah. I could use a Hellhound party. Give us a place and date. We'll be there," Loona said.
"Uh . . . a Hellhound party? I haven't been to one in years. I think I'm really out of my game for stuff like that," Slade said.
"Come on, Slade. It's not rocket science. It's a party. You just show up, mingle, and dance a little. Anybody can do it," Kyo said.
"Yeah, I can do it," Cody added.
"Oh yeah, although you ain't as good as me," Loona joked.
They both chuckled with a smile, and the others laughed, except for Slade.
"See? Even Cody can dance," Kyo sided.
"And I would love to see that and dance with him," Verosika smiled.
"Yeah, I don't dance. It never worked for me," Slade said, looking away.
Kyo, Vortex, and Loraine had a look like they were dumbfounded. The whole dinner table was silent.
Vortex started, "You don't dance? You don't dance?"
Slade shook his head.
"Oh baby, you did not just say that to me. Are you telling me you don't get down with that funky music? You don't shake that fine ass tail to the honeys? You don't work them hips to the grooves? You don't slide on the dance floor like you own that motherfucker like Michael Jackson in Smooth Criminal?" Loraine asked, getting up from her chair while shaking her booty and fluffy tail that was as big as Loona's.
"No, I don't," Slade said shyly.
"So, you got none of this?" Verosika asked, moving her body and shaking her hips to show some dance moves.
"Nope."
"None of this either?" Cody asked while putting on some different dance moves.
"Nope."
"You just ain't about that life, huh? Alright, tell you what. After dinner, we're gonna teach you a thing or two," Loraine said.
"I don't know."
Loraine rolled her eyes with a scoff, "Oh, you gotta be kidding me. Loona, help me out here, honey."
Loona placed her hand around his shoulder, "Slade, there's nothing to it. I'll dance with you. You just gotta move your body. Also, you were a sniper that hunted terrorists. You're not afraid of anything. You got nothing to lose by trying to dance."
"Okay. It's not really that I'm afraid. It's more like embarrassed," Slade said.
"Oh, dude, relax. No one gives a fuck. At Loraine's Hellhound party, this guy dances like he's from an 80s disco," Vortex said.
Once everyone was finished with dinner, they thanked Blitzo and put away the plates.
"Michael Jackson in Smooth Criminal. Is that the one where he's dressed in a white suit with a fedora hat, and it starts with him flipping a quarter all the way across the jukebox?" Wally asked.
"Yeah, that's the one, babe," Verosika answered.
"Oh, I say, I say, I love that music video! Good song to dance to."
"In fact," Cody got to the stereo, found the song, and played it.
As soon as the music started, so did his dancing. Everyone smiled and cheered as he danced in the living room. Crystal and Serena joined in, followed by Wally and Verosika. Being a pop star, Verosika was trained in professional dancing, so she was less amateur like the others, but they were having too much fun to care.
Loraine dragged her boyfriend Vortex to dance as well. Verosika was dancing real close to Wally feeling him up and making him blush. Crystal and Serena did the same thing with Cody, with Crystal close behind him and Serena in front of him, making Cody laugh as they danced together.
"See Slade? No one gives a fuck whether they look dumb doing it. It's just about being in the moment and having fun," Loona said to Slade.
Slade slowly nodded, "It's been so long, I barely know where to start with it, but I guess it doesn't matter."
"Good. Now, take off your sissy pussy panties, put on your big boy balls boxers, and get your ass out there and dance with me, or I'm gonna cry myself to sleep, and you'll feel shitty about yourself for the rest of your life until you kill yourself and become a zombie," Loona said pulling Slade's arm.
"You have an interesting way of sparking confidence, Loona," Slade replied sarcastically with a small smile.
"I know. I'm a fucking genius. Now come on!" Loona said, raising her arms and shaking her hips.
Slade rolled his eyes with a smile and started dancing. Everyone cheered as he danced, and it wasn't long until everyone was dancing. Charlie with Vaggie, Kimi with Shadow, Octavia with Kyo, Millie with Moxxie, and Blitzo with Stolas. Cody even changed the lights to multi-color as they danced to the music. Now they were having a real party.
Loona looked at Slade, and they smiled at each other while gazing into each other's eyes. Kyo and Via were in a similar state. You could feel the love off of them. However, their fun moment was cut short when they heard the doorbell ring. Cody had to pause the music to ensure they heard it, and it rang again. Everyone glanced at each other with a pensive look.
"Blitzo, are you expecting anyone else?" Stolas asked.
Blitzo shook his head, "No, who the fuck is that?"
He went to the door and looked through the peephole. He opened it, and there was no one there but a card on the ground. He picked it up, and it said, 'Duck.'
Blitzo started, "Duck? What the fuck does that—"
He looked and saw something coming, and he ducked just in time. A figure flew into the house and slid on the wooden floor. Everyone reacted and readied their weapons or got into a fighting stance. As the figure stood up, they saw that it was a woman. She had long pink hair in a large ponytail with blonde and white accents. Her skin was primarily white, with pink freckles and red tattoos of bombs and explosions all along her right arm, while her left arm was covered in a red sleeve. She wore a torn red midriff shirt with a black 'X' over her heart, a torn red tight skirt over her black ripped leggings, and red boots. She was a Cyclops sinner demon with one red eye having a white 'X' as a pupil.
Charlie and Vaggie blinked several times.
"Cherri?!" Charlie spoke, surprised.
"What the fuck?! Where the Hell have you been?!" Vaggie questioned, lowering her spear.
Cherri panted as she caught her breath.
"Which one of you is Cody?" Cherri asked.
