A female Hellhound was sparring in the gym against a large punching bag. Each punch, kick, and jab were hit hard and shook the punching bag. The punching bags weren't ordinary ones. They were custom-made to be more robust and durable because it didn't take long for her to break ordinary ones and have the sand spill out.
Her name is Phoenix. She was 14 years old. She had long, straight, layered dark brunette hair that faded to a light brown – similar to her tail. Her fur was brownish grey, but her hands were black. She had a Hispanic background, which would explain the accent and why, when she was angry, she'd swear in Spanish. Her favorite music was hard rock and punk. Her favorite food was spicy and hot food – cold food wasn't her cup of tea. She hated bullies, techno music, and plain tasteless food like tofu. Her hobbies were potion alchemy, fire magic, listening to music, martial arts, kickboxing, and watching MMA, UFA, and kickboxing matches. She was a strong and skilled fighter despite looking a little on the skinny side. Phoenix was a tough gal that took crap from nobody.
When she finished sparring, she was all sweaty and showered off. She changed into her normal clothes. She wore a torn red midriff shirt over her black sports bra, black tight jean shorts, ripped black leggings, dark brown knee-high combat boots with yellow laces, black and red spiked bracelets, and a red belt with white holes.
She walked out and headed for the library a few short blocks down the street from the gym to meet her best friend and adoptive sister, Ave. Ave was a Hellhound with white, black, and turquoise hair and fur. Ave was the same age as Phoenix but the opposite of her. She wasn't a tough and sassy girl but more shy and sweet. She was more into pop rock, hip-hop, and rap music. Her favorite foods were sushi and ramen. Her hobbies were computer art, making music videos, dancing, rally car racing, and off-road racing. She wasn't a physical fighter but a computer wiz expert – especially hacking. She was a wiz computer hacker and a master at 'digital hacking' where one can literally go into the system Sombra from Overwatch.
Her clothing was a black and yellow hooded jacket with spikes on the end of the sleeves and a skull with crossbones and chains around the shoulders. Under the jacket was a light turquoise sleeveless shirt, black shorts, ripped leggings, a pair of sneakers with fur around the ankles, and a dog paw print on the side of the shoes.
When Phoenix got to the library, she searched for her best friend and found her. Ave goes to the library to study or do her thing on her laptop. However, she was backed up against a wall with two teenage boy Imp demons. She recognized them, Dave and Albert. They were the same pricks that were stalking and harassing both her and Ave.
"Come on, baby. One evening with us, and I'll make all your dreams come true," Dave said.
"I-I told you before. I said no," Ave said, looking away with an uncomfortable expression.
Albert leaned in, "Don't be such a prude, darling. You won't know—"
"Hey, pendejo!" Phoenix shouted.
They both turned to her as she marched over. Ave escaped from them and hid behind Phoenix.
"I told you shitstain assholes to leave us the fuck alone," Phoenix declared.
"Phoenix, Phoenix, Phoenix. Do you have to be such a wet blanket?" Dale insulted with a cocky smirk while placing his hand on her shoulder.
Phoenix glared and growled. She grabbed his wrist with one hand and used her other elbow to break his arm like a stick. There was a loud cracking sound followed by a compound fracture as his broken bones stuck to his punctured skin. He began to scream, but Phoenix grabbed his head and kneed his face hard. He fell on his back and lay there unconscious with blood oozing out of his broken nose and his broken arm.
Albert was shocked by this at first but then lunged to attack Phoenix with a punch. Phoenix blocked his punch by grabbing his fist and punching him square in the gut. Then she grabbed and swung him overhead and had him land his head upside down on her knee. When he fell on his back, she stomped on his face. Both were bleeding and unconscious.
Ave never liked seeing violence up close like that, but she didn't protest against her best friend standing up for her.
"Thanks, Phoenix," Ave said.
"No problem," Phoenix replied, "Now, let's go home."
They left the library, and Ave was holding Phoenix's arm the whole way. She always did that whenever she was scared or nervous.
"You won't tell Mom about this, will you?" Ave asked.
"You remember what happened last time I told her about some boys harassing us?" Phoenix replied.
"Oh yeah. She castrated them a mini sledgehammer."
"Exactly."
They walked to the bus station to take them home. Thankfully, the bus didn't take long, and they got in and took the seats in the back. Along the way, Ave pulled out her laptop to work on her music videos – Phoenix sat close next to her with her around her shoulder. Phoenix looked to see Ave using clips of Cody's fights against Overlords.
"Ave, are you sure that's a good idea?" Phoenix asked.
"Sir Cody's got a huge following. I'm showing my support and help to get more followers," Ave said while typing.
"It'll also get some hate comments from VVV followers and sympathizers."
"Relax, Phoenix! It'll be fine. Wouldn't it be cool if Cody went to our school?"
Phoenix turned to face her, "To Red Moon Junior High School? As a student?"
"Yeah!" Ave answered.
"Well, that would be something. The Sir Cody Laurent at our school. Actually, I haven't kept up with the news lately. What's happening with the golden boy?" Phoenix asked.
"Cody, the Fallen Angels, and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse took Slaughtersburg and the Blood Hills. Also, a little 'bird' told me they will hold off a VVV invasion," Ave explained.
"A little bird? Did you hack into the Free Demon Union database?"
Ave shrugged, "Maybe."
Phoenix looked over to see photos of Cody with Loona and the Knights Raiders after they won the Battle of Slaughtersburg. Even as a kid among adults, he looked amazing. The destroyed city, the fires, and the dark smoke trails all looked ominous. However, none of that was more impressive looking than Cody in his dark-light angel form. Phoenix wasn't one to scare easily, but she still got chills seeing Cody like that – his black feathered wings, horns, glowing aura, and eyes that showed pure rage.
Phoenix pulled out her phone and put on her earbuds. She watched and listened to the video that Loona posted of Cody singing 'If Only For Now' by Popevil. The sound of his voice and his guitar filled her ears with magnificent music. Phoenix has always been a fan of his music, but lately, that's all she's been listening to. For some reason, she didn't feel like listening to any other music. Phoenix wondered how a human boy could fit right in Hell so well. Anyone else would continue to struggle until they've reached the end of their rope.
When they got home to their house, they walked through the giant rose garden to the front door. Their adoptive mother, Laraine, was in the backyard trimming the flowers and plants in the garden. Laraine was a beautiful half-succubus and half-hellhound demon with soft blonde hair. Her wings and horns were pink. Her usual clothing would have been her pink dress with glowing red hearts, but since she was gardening, she was wearing tan shorts, a white shirt, outdoor shoes, and her gardening hat. She's a perfect milf, thin, tiny waist, big boobs, and long legs. It's hard to believe that she has a violent side.
Phoenix turned to Ave, "Sir Cody still has to go to school, right?"
Ave looked up at her and then thought for a moment before speaking, "Yes. I mean, Dame Loona isn't going to deny him his education. So, I suspect that when Cody's tour ends, he'll return to school."
"Will he go to school back on the surface or here in Hell?"
"No one knows. Why?"
"Red Moon is a huge fan and supporter of Cody and the Free Demon Union. He'd be the high school prince if he went there . . . and if that happened, then big things would come our way. Can you get a hold of Loona's email address?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Because I want to make a video showing how great Red Moon Junior High School is to try and convince her to enroll Cody there."
Ave's eyes widened with a smile. Stars and sparkles glistened in her eyes.
"Oh! That's an awesome idea! We should go to the school council and get the clubs in on this! We'll need the photography club and their camera crew. We'll need everyone to help show the cool things of the school. Oh yeah, this could be amazing!" Ave praised.
She got on her laptop and sent emails while Phoenix was brainstorming ideas to show the best of the good sides of the school.
Meanwhile
The battle of Cliff Rock grew more gruesome by the hour. The waters were infested with the dead, and it was deep red. Demonic sea monster Overlords arrived and kept King Purson and Duke Dantalion busy, so much so that they were in their complete demon forms. Cody was slaughtering flying demons and bringing down as many helicopters, jets, blimp battleships, and flying demons as possible, but there were so many.
Fort Cliff Rock was giving everything they had. They were shooting choppers and flying demons out of the sky. They were blowing boats in the water. They gunned down troops on the beaches as they were trying to scale the walls while firing mortars. When the rock walls were full of enemy soldiers, they unleashed flame throwers that flooded nearly half of the beaches with flames. The sound of agonizing screams and the stench of burning flesh filled the air. The dark wizards were holding up the force fields while at the same time shooting lightning blasts against paratroopers and enemy choppers.
In the town of Cliff Rock, Loona, and her forces were trying to hold off the enemy landing on the beaches while also killing those coming in from the air. More than once, Loona had to leave the 25mm to help kill enemy paratroopers. Her gauntlets' laser blasters and flamethrowers came in handy.
Then, from the distance cliffs, dark mags for the VVV summon portals that led in giant monsters – two types. One was a horde of giant Cerberus demons. Their bodies were black with burning red eyes and claws. The three heads had red horns and red spikes on their backs. The horns, tails, claws, and mouths all had red flames coming out.
The other beasts looked like a cross of giant scorpion demons and the widowmakers from Resistance 3. Their colors were the opposite of the Cerberus demons. Their bodies were jet red, while the claws, sharp pincers, fangs, horns, and stingers were all jet black.
"Widowmakers and Cerberus dogs! Look out!" a Knight Raider called out on coms.
The Widowmakers charged through the water toward the fort while the Cerberus dogs headed for town. The tanks and armored vehicles directed their fire down the Cerberus dogs killing and crippling many of them, but they got to town. The Hulkbusters charged at them, punching their skulls hard and grabbing them so they could slam them into the ground.
Loona had to run through a building and jump through a window to another building as a Cerberus demon chased her. Her assault rifle wasn't doing any damage as it smashed through the buildings, trying to bite and claw at her. She threw a grenade into one of its mouth, killing one head. Its lower jaw and half its face were gone, but it still had two other heads. Finally, it was brought down by GRS or Gunner Robot with its 25mm gun.
Cody killed many Widowmakers with giant energy blasts. Then he hovered his hands together and concentrated his power as a dark energy ball emerged. When Cody threw it toward the Widowmaker horde, it erupted into a black hole as it violently sucked in surrounding beasts and shredded them apart as they were in the center of the vacuum. There were still several Widowmakers making their way to the fort. Cody summoned his Blue Diamond sword and, with lightning speed, charged at them. He sliced and cut through them, severing their heads or cutting them in half. He threw his sword into the skull of one and parried and deflected another Widowmaker's attack with its pincers. Then, it tried to attack with its stinger tail. Cody caught it as he grabbed it, and saw three other beasts coming at him while roaring and hissing. Cody used all his strength to swing the Widowmaker by its tail and used it as a bat as he swung and hit the other beasts – blood escaped from their broken faces and fractured torsos. Then Cody threw the Widowmaker hard, and it crashed through dozens of the demon monsters far away before slamming into a destroyer ship and blowing it up. Cody flew the Windowmaker that had his swords lodged in its skull, pulled it out, and then cut its head clean off before stabbing another one in the back and burning it with blue flames. The other Widowmakers were getting killed by the fort's rockets and 30mm guns. Their blood, guts, and brains sprayed the air and got into the sea.
The remaining Widowmakers grouped together and shot laser blasts from their eyes at Cody. He summoned an energy shield to protect himself. However, the Widowmakers raised their stingers, glowing brighter until they shot big red lightning bolts. The blast from the zap was enough to break Cody's shield and send him flying, and he crashed into the fort's rock wall. The rocks collapsed on top of him, and he was unconscious.
The dark mags at the cliffs by the sea were gathering around to summon sea twisters, but Draven attacked them. Draven used dark magic to summon giant sharp spikes that impaled several dark mags. The enemy wizards retaliated by shooting dark fireballs at Draven, but he deflected them easily. Then he waved his hand and his staff. Nearby rocks were gathered and floating in a circle in front of Draven. The rocks were as big as basketballs and truck tires. The rocks heated up as if lava was coming out of them. Draven launched them at high speed like bullets out of a gun. When the rocks hit the dark mags, they exploded, killing them.
Draven used dark lightning magic to grab the remaining enemy mags and swung them around in the air before slamming them into the ground. Then he waved his staff and summoned a wave of fire that engulfed them and burned them to a crisp.
King Purson and Duke Dantalion killed the remaining Widowmakers and Cerberus dog demons. After that, within a short hour, the VVV army was in full retreat, and the battle was over. Only one armored blimp, three cruisers, two destroyers, and a badly damaged carrier were left limping away to escape to the open sea.
King Purson and Duke Dantalion reverted to their normal forms. They stood together on the beach, watching what was left of the fleet flee. The beaches had dead demons everywhere, along with impact craters, destroyed armored vehicles, boats, helicopters, dead monsters, and Overlords.
"Want to go after them?" Duke Dantalion asked.
"We got our hands full here," King Purson replied and turned to an officer, "Secure the area, tend to the wounded, and someone get me the status of the other bloody beaches. I want to know if those twat kings are holding their bloody own or are they mucking it up."
"Right away, my dark king," the Imp officer said.
Loona got on comms, "Sir Cody, come in. Sir Cody, come in!"
No response.
"Red Feathers CO, do you copy? Over. Does anyone at Fort Cliff Rock copy?"
"We copy over," a Hellhound Red Feather responded.
"Does anyone know where Sir Cody is?" Loona demanded.
At the fort, everyone looked around the fort and to the sky but didn't see him.
Loona said on comms, "All teams, all teams, we got an MIA. Sir Cody is missing. Find him!"
"I saw where he landed. He's at the rock wall of Fort Cliff Rock. I'll need help getting him out. I'm sending a flare to mark my location," Draven said.
Draven pointed his staff to the sky and shot a flare, and everyone saw it. King Purson went over there while Duke Dantalion stayed to secure the town. Knights Raiders and Red Feather troops were moving rocks and rubble from the impact cracker out of the way. King Purson uses his big hands to move bounders out of the way. A succubus demon was flying Loona to the location.
"I see an arm!" an Imp Knight Raider called moving rocks.
"I got a leg!" a Baphomet Red Feather added, picking up a big piece of rubble.
"Clear that rubble!" a Hellhound Black Fang Ranger said, moving rocks.
"There's reinforced bars in the way! We need the saws!"
"I got it! Out of the way!" King Purson ordered.
With his finger, he sliced the reinforced bars and cleared the rubble.
"I see him! Sir Cody! Can you hear me?!" the Imp Knight Raider called.
"He's unconscious! Get him out of there!" the Hellhound Black Fang Ranger ordered.
They moved rubble and rocks out of the way until, finally, a Hellhound managed to pull Cody out of the rubble as rocks and dirt fell off of him. He handed him to King Purson, who laid him down on the beach for a medic to look at him. The medic fed Cody some healing water, and that woke him up. Cody coughed several times as they sat him up straight.
"He's alive. He's okay," the medic said.
"Cody!" Loona called.
As soon as she landed, she sprinted to Cody and checked him. Nothing was broken, and everything was in place. Cody opened his eyes to see Loona, and she was overjoyed to see him okay as she hugged him.
"Cody! You alright, boy?" King Purson asked.
"I just got the wind knocked out of me. I'm fine, my dark king. Those Windowmakers pack a wallop," Cody answered.
"Yeah, they don't fuck around, and neither do the goddamn Cerberus dogs," Loona commented.
"Is everyone okay? What about the VVV fleet?" Cody asked.
"The VVV fleet is in full retreat. We held the beaches, and we're getting confirmed reports that the other beaches are still ours, too," a Knight Raider officer answered.
"So, we won?"
"You damn right, we won, boyo!" King Purson smiled.
King Purson hollered, and everyone cheered in victory. What followed was the wounded being tended to, securing the fort, the town, and the beaches. General Braxton sent reinforcements. There were dozens of medical tents, more armored vehicles, Hulkbusters, and GRSs. For all the beaches, including Cliff Rock, the Free Demon Union Army suffered 4,000+ dead and 8,000 wounded. The VVV Legion suffered 25,000 dead, 12,000 wounded, 3,000 POWs, and 1,000 MIA. The Fallen Angels, Four Horsemen, and their armies were sent to hunt down the missing VVV soldiers.
Cody suffered some bruises from that hit, but nothing was broken – he would be sore for a while. He and Loona sat on top of the fort's walls, overlooking the sea at the burning ships and armored blimps. Loona lit a cigarette, inhaled, and blew a smoke cloud out.
"This was too fucking close in my taste. I literally felt my heart coming to a stop along the way," Loona said.
"It was a close call, I admit. However, this was a big loss for the VVV. This is a bigger loss than Slaughtersburg," Cody said.
"Still, though. I'm going to talk to King Purson to sign you to some lighter shit, not this over-the-top bull—"
"Loona, we're both under sworn oath. Wherever he sends me, I have to go. I know you want to protect me, but the VVV are our biggest threat here."
Loona flexed her hands, causing her to claw the stone, "You think I don't know that?!"
Cody flinched at her snapping.
"That's all I think about. Every day, I keep wondering if am I going to lose my boy today or tomorrow and how is he going to die. And that . . . that is the worst feeling in the world," Loona stated.
Cody looked to see her holding back tears. Cody reached over and hugged her as she hugged him back.
"I've been asking myself that too. I'm as afraid as you are, but there's no easy way through this. We have to stick together, hit the VVV hard, and not give up," Cody said.
Loona lifted her head and looked at Cody, "Do we know where the VVV are? Because what if we assassin them? Wouldn't that end the war or whatever?"
Cody shrugged, "I don't know. Hitler shot himself, and Germany didn't exactly surrender right away. Who's to say that the VVV will do the same? I mean, it'll definitely do something, but there's still the whole Grand Overlord to deal with and the I.S.N.A."
"I know, I know," Loona said before huffing her cigarette, "Crap, why is this shit so fucking hard?"
"You're asking me? I wish I knew."
Loona let out a big sigh and relaxed against a wall across from Cody. After a moment of silence, Cody spoke, "Hey."
Loona turned toward her boy.
"I love you," Cody said.
"I love you too," Loona replied before inhaling her cigarette.
They gazed back at the sea overlooking destroyed VVV ships and armored blimps. It looked like something from a WWII photograph of Pearl Harbor or the aftermath of a major naval battle, especially with the black smoke trails from the fires. However, as Cody looked closer at some of the smaller armored blimps, he noticed some familiar ones.
"Hey Loona, is it me, or do some of those armored blimps look like the one Sir Pentious uses?" Cody asked.
Loona pulled a high-powered binoculars and zoomed in.
"Huh . . . you're right. Can you get us close?" Loona asked.
Cody summoned a portal to a desk of a destroyed cruiser that was half sunk. They walked carefully to the port bow. Once they got to the railing, they got a good view of the blimp and saw it looked nearly identical with only a few alterations. Loona and Cody took a few photos.
Then Cody uses his powers to tear apart a piece of the armored blimp and levitate it before them. The metal piece had two logos. One of them was a king cobra snake head in a circle with a top hat. The other logo was a creepy jester logo with razor-sharp teeth. Loona and Cody immediately recognized that logo as their eyes widened, and they softly gasped.
"Mammon," Loona and Cody said in unison.
