I spent a little while moving things around and getting stuff set up. My stats were still building up with my age, but I was getting stronger daily.
I finally had a proper house set up with proper furniture and even a proper chemistry set. I had been using a bunch of broken crap I had rigged up so that I could make my drugs during the past year. Every other batch would be ruined due to leaks or tears in my devices and it was already a miracle that I even managed that.
I had decided to start my plans with drugs since this world was already as crappy as it could get and everyone was going to have some sort of vice. I know that there is no way to get rich unless I started out with illegal goods and while I did have plans to try and help the people on this shit hole of a planet I was also planning to go with Momonga when Yggdrasil shut down. To get everything ready for that though, I needed a metric ton of money and there was no way anyone was going to hire a one year old regardless of how black the company and the laws were.
So now I was the sole supplier of the drug that swept the streets of our city. It got the street name happy, mostly due to the fact that it would cause people to literally become happy regardless of what they were doing. People loved it for its effects and the factories loved it since it made people happy to work for their complete bullshit pay.
I used the bare minimum of money on anything and had very quickly become the wealthiest child in the city, possibly even the world.
I had to meet with the backer once when Greg, which was the name of the big guy, pfft Greg, had been asked to have me meet with him.
The backer was a ridiculously fat guy who constantly sweat and talked in really long and roundabout ways to tell me that he was happy I was making him so much money and that if I ever needed anything that all I had to do was ask.
I got him to buy up the house I was living in and get some forged papers for me, this was necessary since my mother and father had apparently had me and failed to get any sort of paperwork done on me. They probably figured I would die sooner or later and didn't need papers for a dead baby.
I used my new papers and my money and got myself the best medical goods and a brand new DMMO helmet. I needed practice if I was going to be able to be one of the best players when Yggdrasil started.
I used the backer to get some land under my name outside of the city and had the gang members help me build a greenhouse of sorts into an underground cave system I had found when I had studied some old maps. While the education system had all but gone to shit because of the wealthy holding back on it so they could keep control of the masses easier, they also didn't really bother with anything that actually required advanced knowledge to use. Like schematics and maps that nobody could make money off of. The rich were barely better educated than the poor.
I set up the green house underground with numerous vents that would open to release oxygen into the atmosphere while drawing in the smog in the air. This would happen once the oxygen levels reached a certain point and would just continue happening automatically. It would over time help to cleanse the air nearby.
I also planted some apple trees in there and had one of the gang members taught how to manually pollinate the trees so they produced apples. Once the gang learned that they would be able to have some fresh fruit instead of the nutrient gruel they normally had they were more than happy to watch over the apple orchard. Not to mention that the backer was also looking forward to the harvest.
What I didn't tell anyone was how the real star of my plan was the grass and other plants I had planted there. It was very difficult to find enough grass to really plant there since I had to find a place that had semi clean air and had normal condensation drops while being away from the rain and so many other factors that it was ridiculous. I did manage to find some hidden in a few alleys that were covered.
I hoped that eventually I could find some more underground caverns that I could use like this so that I could hopefully make the planet livable again, though it would probably be a good thousand years or so before that happened.
I spent my time on making drugs and my other forms of entertainment. This lasted until I was 10 years old.
I had of course been asked if I wanted to go to school like other kids and had simply snorted at the idea. I had enough money now to be considered one of the wealthy, but I had no interest in wasting my money and drawing attention to myself by going to the idiot version of school that they had in this world.
In the past 9 years I had managed to get a total of twenty different underground caverns set up into greenhouses. The backer was beyond happy since farms were becoming more and more scarce and he was able to flaunt his status and make a profit by reselling his cut of the fruits and vegetables I had planted. Even the gang was happy about the greenhouses and had actually managed to set up a group to protect and farm them.
The gang had actually managed to grow since they had a few fights with other gangs in the area. I had of course stepped in as needed and it was never too long after I acted that Greg would be receiving the head of the gang boss he was just fighting along with the support of the new boss who had decided that he would rather just work under him than to end up like his previous boss. What happened to his previous boss? Well lets just say that having a ton of medical knowledge makes you able to do things to a person without killing them that would normally be impossible, both physically and mentally.
The gang was now the only gang in the city and was in charge of any and all illegal things that happened. Greg still hadn't forgiven me for killing his friend, but he was no longer as angry over it and had come to view it as more of a necessary sacrifice, it also helped that he was still in charge and could order around over a thousand people to do his bidding.
I was one of the first people to get the game Yggdrasil and I made sure to get every single bonus I could. I'm sure that nobody was surprised that there was a ridiculously pricy version of the game that gave so many bonuses and extra perks that it made the early game pass by in a flash for anyone who got it.
The bonuses were things like triple drop rates and a quadruple experience multiplier. I also got the add on of top class beginner set. I even got a legendary item right off the bat and got to design my own characters looks regardless of the data limits. I had gotten a ton more than that, but it would take forever to describe it all. The amount of money I put into the game would make others gasp in horror over how wasteful it was. I didn't care since I knew it would support me later on when I went to that world.
I entered the game and did the creation process. My name was Alex the Great and my race was Dragonoid. I know that in the game heteromorphs were hunted down left and right, but with all of my bonuses and with how serious I was taking this game I had no doubt that I would become the number one player for at least the first year. I had zero plans to die.
I finished the creation process and chose my starting world, which of course was Helheim. I didn't want to end up in a world where my being a heteromorphic race would end up weakening me and I had long decided to spend my time grinding some levels against the undead.
I did the tutorial which was about the same as any other game, well if you discounted all of the rather obvious prompts about what you could buy from the developers that is, I bought them all just in case.
I was sent to a city that had some ghostly looking people floating around and saw a few other people starting to show up. I decided to speak to a ghost who was friendly enough. He gave me directions to the bank where I went and set up a bank account and I used a good amount of real life money to change it into Yggdrasil currency. I also used the cash shop repeatedly. I got a bonus for being one of the first ten people to use the cash shop and managed to get a good number of limited time items that would only be available on the first day. I easily burned through a third of my saved money within just the first two hours of playing, but it was worth it since some items were definitely worth their weight in gold, especially since they wouldn't ever show up in the cash shop again.
After I was done with that I went around to the library and the training grounds and used their training facilities. I spent a week in the library and received a bonus title for reading 100 books and I received two more when I read 1000 books and the last one when I read the final book in the library. I actually had to do some quests for the librarian to get access to some of the books that she was protecting.
I also spent a month in the training area after the library and managed to get my monk class up to 4 which was as high as I could get it without going out and fighting. Or at least without spending an even more ridiculous amount of time there.
I went around the starting village doing every single quest I could before I received a quest to go to another city farther away than I had traveled so far. I took the quest and headed on out.
I had managed to raise my dragonoid class to 3 using the quests and I had managed to learn a ton of basic skills that I could work on without gaining a job class. Because of them only being available to people who have never been to any other places other than the starter village and its surroundings I was able to get such rare things.
I hadn't figured out until I had read online about how players were irritated about having to get job classes just to be able to do something as simple as farming a field for a quest. My skills were all basic, but they had the ability to grow to level 5 with practice and wouldn't affect my actual level. You just needed to stay in the starter village and do a ridiculous amount of quests that didn't give nearly as much experience as killing even a single wild animal near the next city. Never mind, it sounds completely insane when I think about it, but my time as a ninja made me unable to not train and do menial tasks like this.
Once you left the starter village you couldn't ever go back to it to learn those skills or get the titles.
I reached the city and finished my quest. I decided to train those skills to max level so that I could use the skills as needed.
When I trained each of them to level 5 they would ring out with each one asking if I wanted to gain the (class master). I turned them all down though since I already had my classes planned out.
I had went through the city and completed every quest I could get and ended up running all over the place. I did get a ton of items, some of which were just data crystals that would make things have different appearances, but some were actually useful. One of the quests gave me a ring that would give me an undead status for 4 hours a day. It was useful since the undead don't use stamina and my build required nothing but stamina and ki. It also gave me the undead negatives. It didn't really effect me as much since being a monk and a dragonoid let me have ridiculously high resistances to everything that would normally hurt the undead.
I had unfortunately fallen behind in my leveling compared to the other players and had to catch up quick. So I did the one thing that people were having the most difficulty with at this point in time. I went dungeon grinding.
I was a level 8 monk and a level 5 dragonoid and had gear that would let me easily overpower anyone who wanted to kill me unless they were at least 10 levels above me with a proper skillset to go past my defense, and even then they would need to burn down my ridiculously tanky hp.
I went to a dungeon that had some beginner monsters to test myself on. I ran the dungeon by myself which meant that I didn't need to fight over loot or exp with others and I found that it was easy. I hated playing games that required team fights since there would always be that one person who thought they deserved more.
The skeletons moved pretty slowly and were easily destroyed, all I had to do was move around the outside of the horde and pick them off one by one. I was able to tank any blows that did somehow manage to get through to me and I used the ki healing technique to heal after the battles.
I fought a ton of skeletons and I knew that I wasn't going to get any sort of applause for speed, but safe and steady was the way I wanted it for now. Half way through the dungeon I ended up fighting a skeleton warrior instead of a normal skeleton. He was pretty fun since he was a good bit faster than the other skeletons, but he was still slower than me and was also alone.
The second half of the dungeon had skeleton warriors and archers instead of skeletons and I had to focus more. I couldn't just run around them anymore and had to actually engage them. I used my buffs to minimize the damage I was taking and rushed into the packs of undead. I reached the end of the dungeon and faced off against the final boss.
The final boss was a lich with summoned bodyguards. It was hilarious for me to fight him since his three ways to attack were undead touch, which didn't work because I was still under the effects of the ring of undeath. Summon undead, which was fine with me since every time I killed the summons I could get exp. And last but not least was fireball, I am a dragonoid which makes me 80% fireproof and being a monk means that I could basically brush fire damage off like water droplets. All I could do is laugh. I didn't use my ring of undeath earlier in the dungeon because of this very thing.
I had paid for information on the various dungeons in the world and had found out about this dungeons boss. Most players would simply run the dungeon and move on since they would die over time because of the bosses attacks and constant spamming of summons, but because I had fire immunity to anything below tier 7 magics and had undead effects with infinite stamina I was basically in an all you can eat exp buffet. I had even timed it so that when the rings effects ended I would have one hour before it reset at midnight. I had found that out on accident that it didn't use a 24 hour countdown but instead used the literal term of being useable after a day. So I could use the ring after that one hour and continue grinding.
I spent 13 hours in the dungeons boss battle and got the title relentless. I did destroy the lich in the end, but I was a little sad that I wouldn't be able to fight him anymore since the level difference would kill any experience I would get from him.
My levels had risen so much that I was now a level 15 monk and a level 15 dragonoid. I was 20 levels away from the race change option and I already knew what I wanted. It was going to be fun.
I headed back to the city and had to get new armor that was monk specific. My beginner gear was nice enough, but it was now in tatters due to all the fighting I had done. I had quite literally used them until they were nothing but rags and tatters.
I never used a weapon beyond wrapping my fists and using my claws. So I didn't need to do anything for weaponry. I went and made sure to keep my eyes open for whenever the gacha had anything new pop up and had a lot of fun buying anything that interested me. when it popped up on there.
I also went and did some quests so that I could get the ki master classes over the course of a month. I made sure to get level 10 in ki master with 5 each in spiritual and physical. The spiritual increased my sensory and control abilities using my ki while the physical allowed me to use ki for physical buffs or just as an attack.
I had hit level 50 in total and it was finally time for me to either get a new race or I could add on a race and have both of them. This was very useful for me since while it did take away from my job classes it would let me get a racial class that would allow me to get the specialties inherent to that race. If I used any other way to change my race I would lose all of my levels in my dragonoid race and have to start from scratch.
I chose doppelganger as my new race and became a doppelganger dragonoid hybrid. The doppelganger had almost no attacking skills and was incredibly weak in its base form. This however was canceled out by its ability to transform into other creatures and use any of their abilities of level 40 or below. This was very useful as an ability since most players were just starting out and were still lower leveled. I found that I was limited at level 1 for doppelganger and could only use the ability to shapeshift into one other saved form. If I tried to transform into another form I would have to delete the previous form, but if I leveled my doppelganger racial level I could have more forms saved and could transform at will while raising the skill power limit.
I did have a transformation because of being a dragonoid, but it was simply turning into a dragon and lashing out with my limbs before releasing a breath attack. I had gotten the skill at my maximum racial level and I couldn't control my body when in that state. I also entered into a third person view when in that state which was very disconcerting, but it was my one major attack that I could use to wipe out an entire area. Even if it did wipe out all of my stamina in one go.
I had the chance to use that particular skill on some players hunting down heteromorphs. The players had found me while I was traveling around for my doppelganger quest and had seen that I was a dragonoid.
My character has black shiny scales on its forearms and legs, a tail with a spiked club on the end and horns. I also have yellowish slitted eyes and fangs, but otherwise I look mostly human. When I got my doppelganger class I got really long fingers and a mask that covered half of my face.
The players decided to try and sneak up on me, but I had sensed them already because of my ki sense.
"Hey you guys, I already know you're there, you might as well come out already."
Five people came out and surrounded me with their weapons drawn. They were obviously humans.
"Good, then that means we don't have to waste time following you around." A big berserker said.
"Lets just finish this, I need to go to bed soon so that I can get up for work tomorrow." A female mage said.
I immediately rushed at the healer who had started casting buffs for the party. I knew she was mid buff since the glow from her skill was still building.
I used a monk movement to flash step behind her and used a stun skill to stop her from using any barriers or escape skills and then I used a dragon strike to her back to kill her off.
"Kyra." The archer yelled out in shock.
"Damn, he took out the healer in an instant. Don't hold off on buffs and items." The paladin commanded them. I ran at the paladin next and got intercepted by the berserker who used a roar skill to boost his physical skills for the next 30 seconds.
I used a ki strike to cause defense penetrating attacks and managed to get him down to a third of his health before I was forced to back off because of the archer shooting at me with a venom strike.
The mage casted a few debuffs on me while buffing her allies. I decided to see what my trump card would do and used my transforming ability right there.
The four PKers didn't know what to do and just froze up while I transformed into a full sized western dragon with black scales. I got to see everything from a third person view and was able to see everything that happened.
My dragon form used his tail to smash the archer and instantly killed him while basically jumping up and down on top of the other three like a little kid in a sandbox or something. It caused the ground to get ripped up and trees were thrown all over the place. I saw both the witch and the berserker get killed while the paladin used a shield skill to survive. This didn't help him since after jumping around my dragon form flew up into the air before facing towards the ground where the paladin was casting what I can only assume was some sort of escape skill. My dragon form then took in a huge breath and released a beam of black and blue that covered the entire area. It lasted for about 10 seconds and when it ended there was only a pit left of the area it had hit. My dragon form then landed in the pit before looking up and letting out a roar of dominance that shook the forest before transforming back into me.
I received a list of notifications, apparently there were more than just these guys who had died from my dragons rampage. I however was unable to move after that since I was in a complete stamina drained state. I had to wait for one whole minute before my natural regen would kick in and I would be completely helpless for that minute. I figured that this could be used as some sort of finisher move in a boss battle if need be.
I went and finished my quests after that and had really wished that I could've used all of that experience towards my doppelganger class, but unfortunately I couldn't gain experience during this class quest.
