Ning and the rest flew to the other Origin in the Atlantic, not knowing what to expect at all. The only thing he could ask himself was why it even needed to exist at all.

It was the same planet, so one Origin was enough. Was it perhaps a timing thing where two origins were forming and ended up forming at the same time?

'I know too little about Origins to make any sort of guess,' he thought.

They arrived at the next location and once again Ely concealed it with her artifact. The incoming planes and drones would soon notice that whatever light had suddenly emerged had disappeared, and there were bound to be some questions and conspiracies being thrown around.

Ning thought of giving some excuse so the people wouldn't be worried later, but for now, he needed to focus on what was in front of him.

Another Origin.

Another small pool of Qi that could be used to—

"Wait, what?" Ning shouted the moment he saw the pool of energy down below him.

"What's going on?" Ely asked as she slowly moved closer. "I can't sense the Qi at all. It's like it's nothing to my senses."

"Me neither," Blue said.

"That's because it's not Qi at all," Ning explained. "That down there is mana. Holy shit! A mana Origin opened up on Earth as well."

"What?" Ely was surprised. "What do you mean mana Origin? How can there be Mana and Qi on the same planet?"

"I don't know," Ning said. "I'm just as confused as you."

"But…" Ely didn't know what to say. She could only hope there was nothing to worry about.

"Look at how much mana is coming out," he thought. "It would probably make me stronger than I already am as a mage."

"Didn't you reach the peak as a Mage?" Ely asked.

"Tier 10, yes," Ning said. "But that was the peak of the universe where the mana was coming from. In our universe, the peak of mana was actually more around… Tier 8? I think. It had a different system, so it's hard to judge. Anyway, judging by the quality of the mana, Earth is probably going to have very strong mages, very soon."

"Isn't that… bad?" Night asked. "Having so many people emergy with new powers is devastating if we don't have a method of controlling them."

"That's… not wrong," Ning said. "But we can't just control people."

"I think it's better to not do anything," Ely said. "Let people figure it out on their own. It will certainly take some time for the Qi and mana to reach the countries, and for the people to experience the effect."

"I do have an idea on how to make people docile, in a sense, without taking away their freedom," Ning said. "We will talk about that later though. For now, what should we do?"

"I'm going to the previous Origin to cultivate, master," Blue said. "It's been years since I've gotten to properly cultivate."

Night nodded. "Same for me," he said.

Ning nodded back. "Yes, go do that," he said.

"Then, I'll do that too," Ely said, but Ning stopped her.

"No, I think you should stay here for a while," he said.

Ely gave him a weird look. "Why?" she asked.

"Your body hasn't been adapting to the mana as well as I would've hoped it to. Perhaps you were too strong, to begin with, so it's taking time. I want you to sit around here so the strong mana here can help you acclimate faster," he said. "Once you are done being acclimated, you can both become a Mage and a cultivator."

Ely thought for a moment and couldn't help but agree. "Sure, that sounds good. I will call my brother here. He would do well becoming a mage too," she said.

Ning nodded and soon everyone was there to cultivate.

Ely, Ning, Chase, and Sorlus cultivated on the Mana Origin, while Night, Blue, Hi-Ah, and Jung-Hee cultivated on the Qi Origin.

Ning improved steadily, with Chase and Sorlus not far behind. Ely was the only one with no progress as a mage as her body hadn't adapted to the mana just yet.

It took 2 months of staying in the Origin before her body had adapted, after which she too started improving more as a Mage.

Sorlus and Chase left the Origin multiple times as there was no reason for them to stay there for too long. However, Ely stayed there at all times.

After some time, they started approving more and more people to come to the Origin. Chase's girlfriend and Jung-Hee's girlfriend were allowed to visit the Mana Origin.

Ning also brought his grandmother and uncle to the Qi origin where they slowly cultivated to reach Immortality. Once they were Immortal, Ning would have nothing to worry about anymore.

Ely switched from one Origin to another, while cultivating both energies at once. The others did so as well, but no one seemed to be as dedicated as her.

It was almost as if she was trying to make her forget about her worry about her unborn child. However, even if it worked for the first few years, it was soon filling her with worry once again.

Perhaps, the only solace here was the fact that her belly was in fact getting bigger by the year. Now, she could even tell the gender of her own child.

Ning's worries were not any less than hers, but he had been able to hide them much better. He instead helped the world in the following years by helping them in a way they wouldn't have expected.

The people were all agitated about being strong, but never being able to use their skills properly.

So, together with the various world government, he released virtual reality technology where people could go in to use their skills. Others would work on spinning that concept however they wanted to.

With that, the world would calm down enough so that Ning didn't have to worry about wars again.

Nearly 50 years passed in the blink of an eye. The world transitioned so much that it was unrecognizable to Ely every time she used her divine sense to check.

She had created a small hut in the Qi Origin, where she would cultivate for days. There were other huts there as well, but those were usually empty. Only she was dedicated enough to cultivate for so long.

Ning had gone back home since she was in closed cultivation and was spending some time with the family. It was An-Jee's birthday, and they were celebrating her reaching 9 years old.

An-Jee was Hi-Ah's 2nd daughter.

Hi-Ah and Jung-Hee had gotten married by now and had kids of their own. They had married late, but that didn't matter much to them as a cultivator.

Hi-Ah had 3 children, while Jung-Hee had 4.

They would all be gathered in the family too, even her brother, who would be there with his wife and children.

It always felt bad being around children, so Ely decided to skip this one birthday party. Besides, she was so close to breaking through as well. Just one simple push and she would fly past the Immortal God realm, entering whatever it was that lay beyond it.

She felt the movement in her womb and couldn't help but smile. "You want to come out too, don't you?" she asked. "But, it's not time yet. You still have to grow just a little more. You can come out after that."

Ely held a positive attitude towards her child these days. She was no longer as worried, or at least she didn't appear to be.

Nothing bad had happened to her child yet, and the baby had grown in her womb without any problem.

Sure it was slow growth, but at this point, that was the least of her worries. She had come to terms with the fact that it might take her a hundred years to give birth to her child.

Once the child calmed down, she focused on cultivation again.

She cleared her to find and slowly fell into a meditative trance where she felt the gentle Qi in the air. She calmly pulled it towards herself, improving her cultivation base as she did so.

Time passed slowly but surely, and at some point, she lost herself to the feeling.

A sudden change in the gentleness of the Qi woke her up from her trance and she stopped cultivating immediately.

Her first instinctual act was to softly hold her baby, but she was not in problem. She then focused on her own cultivation base, which was also not what had woken her up.

Then she checked the surrounding. Nothing was there either.

"What happened?" she couldn't help but ask. She looked around and at the last moment, she saw specks of light vanishing from the sky.

Those bright lights in the sky had appeared again, and Ely's worry increased again. "What the hell are you?" she couldn't help but ask.

Once everything was back to normal, she went back to cultivating.

Similar instances happened many more times over the course of the next few years. Ely asked Ning about it, but Ning couldn't tell her what was happening at all.

Without the system, he was just as in the dark as the entire world was.

Ely broke through to the next realm, and now she was in a realm that had no name. She could give it one herself, but she had no idea what to give it.

It would make more sense for the names to be set taking in mind the rest of the cultivation realms from start to finish, but people weren't cultivating fast enough for anything to have names at all.

Most didn't even know they were a cultivator at all. Due to their lack of understanding, most of them were stuck at a breakthrough.

Ning tried to keep the information as hidden as possible, going as far as to force people to make blood oaths to not spread the cultivation techniques he gave them.

This mostly happened to the extended family he had now, which included his cousins-in-law and their respective families. He was fine with them using it, but he wanted to rest of the world to come to the understanding of what cultivation was on their own.

With both mana and Qi available at a high concentration, he didn't want to turn the world chaotic all of a sudden by giving people two pathways to becoming strong.

He cultivated in the Origin as well, and by now he was at the peak of whatever was possible.

He walked over to the hut where Ely had been cultivating after her breakthrough.

Her stomach was as large as it had ever been, and Ning was sure the child would come any time now.

"Our child is moving around a lot these days," Ely said.

"It should be anytime now," Ning said. "I'm so nervous. I… I've always been so bad with children. I don't know if I can be a good father."

"You are great with children. Look at how many kids you've taken under you and trained them," Ely said.

"I… I was using the system most of those times. I don't know how I will do without it," he said.

The sky lit up for a few seconds and stopped.

"When is that going to stop?" Ely asked.

"What is that even?" Ning asked.

"At least the Qi had stopped being disturbed every time that happened," she said. "I wonder if that is some sort of sign."

"Maybe," Ning said. "Do you want to go home?"

"Sure," Ely said. "I've cultivated enough already. I should go relax a little around the family."

Ning nodded and held out his hand to help her up. Ely grabbed his hand and slowly got up when she stopped halfway through and looked at Ning with an incredulous look.

Both she and Ning realized at the same time what had happened.

"My water broke," Ely said.

Ning's eyes went wide. "The baby is coming."

Ning wasted no time and teleported Ely to a room he had previously prepared. It was full of artifacts and formations that gave them not just privacy but also sanitary and highly defensive.

Ely quickly took off her robe and lay on the soft bed as the delivery was beginning.

Ning paused for a few seconds, wondering if he should have gotten some doctor instead, but he was the best doctor he knew, so he didn't feel right employing someone else. He just couldn't find it in himself to trust them to succeed.

Ely herself knew what she had to do, so she waited for the baby to start making its way out.

Ning got next to her and talked to her to keep her mind occupied with other thoughts than whatever pain she would feel, but as a cultivator, she didn't need that. Her pain tolerance was high enough already that she could handle it all.

Ning still did what he could and even let everyone know that the baby was coming.

There wasn't as much struggle with the baby coming out at all. Ely pushed for a few minutes and the baby stuck its head out.

A little more and the baby was entirely out.

Ning held the baby, and before he could even look at the gender, he was in awe.

The shock of becoming a father was one thing, but this… this was not something he ever expected at all. Heck, this was not something he even knew was possible.

A weird look appeared on his face. "What the hell?"

Everyone from Ning's Grandmother to Chase's family was gathered in Ning's mansion, waiting for them to come out of the delivery room with the good news.

Suddenly, everyone turned around as they sensed Ning and Ely's presence. They stood around quietly as the two of them slowly walked up.

They walked through the door and arrived in the living room with everyone already gathered.

Ning held the baby while Ely walked in slowly beside him. They both had slightly teary eyes and a smile on their faces.

"Guys," Ning said. "Let me introduce you all to the newest addition to our family."

He slowly turned so everyone could see their child that was snuggly sleeping in a comfy white blanket. "This is our daughter."

The tiny face of the baby girl that was seen through the blanket was enough to make most of them tear up immediately.

Ning's Uncle was the first to come forward. "HAHAHA! Amazing. Finally," he said. "Congratulations to both of you."

"Master!" Blue shouted. "Let me hold little miss in my hand."

"No, let me do it first," Sorlus spoke.

Ning smiled and turned toward his grandmother who was tearing up. "Here, grandma," he said as he passed along his newborn daughter to her.

Bak Jung-Hwa couldn't help but tear up as she held her great-granddaughter. She had held many great-grandchildren and even some great-great Grandchildren already, but this was the first one she had been waiting to hold and after nearly 75 years of waiting, she was finally here.

"You two have suffered a lot of mental distress waiting for this child to be born," she said. "I am very happy for you two right now."

"Thank you, grandmother," Ely said softly.

The baby immediately started crying out loud. "Oh no, I woke her up," the old woman said. "Hi-Ah, come hold her."

Hi-Ah nodded, held her niece in her hand, and softly hummed.

Everyone's children started gathering around to look at the newborn, while the adults went to congratulate the two new parents.

"Oh, she had your eyes, cousin," Hi-Ah said. "Her nose though looks like its sister Ely's."

"Let me see," Chase came and took her from Hi-Ah.

"Hello, little girl. I am your uncle," Chase spoke with his rough voice, and immediately the child started crying again.

Chase tried to calm her down, but he couldn't help but be sad that she wasn't calming down.

Hi-Ah took the baby again and let her children gather around to watch the newborn girl.

The newborn girl stopped crying and looked around curiously at what was in front of her.

"Right, did you guys think of any names yet?" Hi-Ah asked.

"I was thinking of giving her my mother's name, but it didn't feel right, so I decided not to," Ning said. "As for other names, I only just found out I have a daughter, so it's better if the one who has known it forever is to answer."

"I have a few names," Ely said. "How about you guys help me decide if it feels right or not."

As soon as Ely started speaking, the child's head slowly turned to look toward her mother. It was as if she could recognize the sound of her mother from a crowd of people even after having just been born.

Ely continued speaking, saying different names, and discussing which worked.

The newborn baby moved around a little and managed to free her hand from the blanket that was wrapped around her. She slowly pulled her hand out and reached out.

She reached towards Hi-Ah who was closest to her. Hi-Ah noticed and smiled as she got her cheeks close to the baby's hands.

Ning's eyes went wide and quickly sprinted across the room and grabbed the baby's tiny arm before putting it back in the blanket.

"She will get cold," he said. "Let me take her back."

The others wanted to hold her too, but Ning decided not to do that. If they handled her wrong, there was a chance of someone being injured, and it was definitely not the baby.

He took his daughter back and smiled at her, who also gave a soft, innocent smile back.

"That is what I liked the best to begin with," Ely said, finishing her list.

"That sounds lovely," the rest said.

Ning looked towards her. "You landed on a name?" he asked.

"Yes," Ely said. She looked at her child. "How does Emma sound?"

Ning repeated the name. "Emma… I think that sounds lovely."

Let me take her," Ely said and took Emma from Ning's hand.

Ning let the baby go, but he hovered around, looking at the two of them.

"Hi! Do you like mommy?" Ely asked as she made a funny smiling face towards the curious child. Emma smiled back and that brought joy to the entire room.

The adults gathered around, talking to the baby even though they knew she couldn't respond back. They all talked with their high voice to amuse the child and had fun

Everyone smiled, except Ning.

On his face was nothing but worry and confusion. He stuck around, hoping Emma would just fall asleep for now, but with the people all trying to talk to her, it was not possible.

"I must say, given how long she took, I half-expected her to come out looking older," Jung-Hee said. "At least, older than a newborn."

"Well, she does seem to be more mentally developed than all newborns. Look, she's barely cried at all," Hi-Ah said. "And she's even looking around so much. Newborns shouldn't be able to do that so early."

"You guys should put her to sleep," the Grandmother said. "Newborn babies need a lot of sleep. She might be the child of cultivators, but she's still a newborn baby."

Ely nodded. "I should probably feed her again too," she said.

"Yes, let me help you," Hi-Ah said.

Blue didn't give much thought to the conversation happening around him though. He was too focused on trying to make funny faces to make Emma laugh.

"She can't laugh right now, Blue," Ely said. "It should take her a few months."

"But she can already smile, can't she?" Blue asked. "Laughing is not that far off."

"It is far off," Ely said.

"Look at her. Your mommy doesn't want you to laugh at all. Emma, show us that you can laugh," Blue said as he got close. Emma turned toward Blue and gave a curious look.

Ning saw her try to move her little arms and got ready to catch her if she moved very quickly, but before he could, a magic circle appeared out of nowhere in the air for a split second, and Blue was struck with something that sent him flying back.

He struck the wall of the house where the formation in the wall shined for a second, showing how sturdy it was.

The house defenses immediately activated as artifacts appeared from everywhere else and barriers sprung up all around them.

That all wasn't very bad, but then the offensive artifacts appeared as well.

Ely had set the defenses in a way that did not activate normally at all. It only did when it detected disturbances. In that case, the house would sense everyone inside and see if they were recorded individuals or not.

Everyone in the house had their aura recorded when they entered through the door or when they arrived through the magic circles.

However, there was someone in the house currently whose aura had not been recorded as of yet. So, the offensive artifacts instantly targeted Emma.

Maybe it was because she was weak from having just given birth, or maybe she wasn't expecting such a thing to happen, Ely couldn't stop the attacks from the artifacts in time at all.

Everyone else was one step behind to realize what was happening, but Ning was already there. He was ready to stop the artifacts from hitting his child, but before he could do anything, the attacks vanished.

A loud crash sounded as the many artifacts in the room were suddenly destroyed, and their attacks had disappeared.

No one understood what just happened at all, so they stood there in silence with shock on their faces.

"Hehehe!"

Then, they heard a small peal of laughter and turned around just in time to catch Emma making those sounds.

"She… she laughed."

Ely's eyes went wide and even Ning was very surprised.

"Argh!" Blue got up while holding the back of his head. "What… what just happened?"

"I think sister Ely hit you because you were being too noisy," Sorlus said. "You shouldn't bother the baby."

Ads by Pubfuture

"No! It wasn't me," Ely said. "I didn't hit him."

"I'm pretty sure I saw a magic circle in front of aunt Ely," one of the children said.

"But Ely says it's not her," Chase said.

"Ning…" Ely turned toward Ning to ask for him to explain.

Ning couldn't help but sigh. "It was Emma," he said.

"Huh?" Everyone looked at him confusedly, as if they were wondering if he was joking.

"I'm serious, it was Emma," Ning said. "She just sent Blue flying."

"Huh?" they still didn't believe it. "How could it be Emma?"

"I don't know, but it is her," Ning said. "For some reason, from the moment she was born, she has the strongest cultivation base and Mana tier on the entire planet."

"What?" Ely looked at Ning with a confused look.

"Strongest?" the others looked at him. "When you say strongest, are you…"

"On cultivation base and mana alone, she is stronger than me as well," Ning said. "The reason you guys can't notice is that she is too far up your league. She should appear to your senses the same way I do."

Everyone's eyes were incredulous. What they heard was something they could not believe at all, and rightfully so, but even then the shock of hearing something like that was way too intense.

"And you didn't tell me yet?" Ely asked.

"I was trying to figure out what was happening," he said. "But I couldn't."

The rest of them looked at him, waiting for him to explain some more, but Ning really didn't have any explanation.

"I really don't know what is happening. I've heard of people being born with a cultivation base after they were in the womb for a few years, but this is something else entirely. I genuinely have no idea at all."

"Then… what do we do?" Ely asked worriedly.

Ning shrugged. "I don't know," he said. 'But I'm sure everything is fine."

"Hehehe," Emma laughed once more and everyone turned to look at the incredible child she was.

Emma was strong, so over the course of the next year, Ning and Ely took her away from any human civilization to make sure she didn't harm someone accidentally.

People came to visit them from time to time, and Night, Blue, and Sorlus stayed around with them, but other than that, it was only Ning and Ely who remained together with Emma.

Emma was strong, but she didn't use her cultivation or magic spells that often. The only time she did, it was either because she was in the mood for some fun, or when she was sad.

Her spells weren't refined at all and her techniques were amateur, so the attacks usually just came to be random blasts around the house.

On top of that, she didn't use very strong attacks. At least by comparison to what she was capable of.

Her attacks were strong enough to kill a normal person, but no one around her was normal. Both Blue and Night were strong enough to take a beating from her, and she liked playing with them for that very reason.

She also played with Sorlus and hit him as well, but not as much as the other two. Even when she did, her strength wouldn't be as strong as with the other two.

Emma grew rapidly, and in just 6 months reached what most newborns would become in an entire year.

Ning and Ely were worried that their child was going to continue to grow rapidly, but for some reason, she stopped growing after that.

It was as if she had hit the base limit of what a cultivator needed to be and did not grow further than that.

Time slowly passed and Emma started learning how to talk. She was now capable of stringing together words to form coherent sentences to ask for what she wanted.

Which was either to play with daddy or ask for milk from mommy. She never asked to play with her mother, even though she did like playing with her when Ely did play.

She simply liked her father more because Ning would play thrilling games with her, which Ely simply never could.

Ads by Pubfuture

Blue and Night would also play with her, but not to the same level as Ning.

Blue playfully taught her how to swim, while Night taught her how to fly. Within a month or two, she was better at it than them.

At some point, Ning realized that he had to teach her how to use cultivation and magic, especially what not to do.

So, he started teaching her.

Emma's intellect was high for a baby, but not high enough to understand many concepts and nuances that a more grown-up child would understand.

Even then, Ning taught her the best he could. No matter how long it took, he would teach her.

Time passed quickly when he was together with his wife and daughter, and several years were gone in the blink of an eye.

The world moved on, even without them. Many people even forgot about him and their family, who had become a figment of the past for everyone.

The world became more advanced and modern as time went on.

For Ning and his family, however, nothing changed at all.

A few years later, he found a small island in the pacific where he transferred his house and build even more houses, where he brought every family member to live in. They didn't have to worry about keeping up with the world that way, and they liked it.

Emma looked no more than 2 years old even when dozens of years passed and somehow the people around them expected that to happen. Some even preferred it that way.

Knowing that she had such a strong cultivation base, Ely wasn't even worried that her daughter wasn't growing fast enough.

With her lifespan, she could take millions of years to grow to be a teenager and it would be fine for her.

Ads by Pubfuture

Emma could speak a bit better now, so she was able to converse with people, even though she still kept her childish charm and naiveness.

She was way better at handling her strength, and apart from Night and Blue, no one else was ever harmed at all.

Even the two of them were only harmed because Emma found it funny and they let her do it. Both of them had become great uncles to her and loved her like she was their own daughter.

Time continued passing and they could not stop it.

They all remained timeless, but the world did not.

Multiple natural disasters occurred, killing a lot of people. There were other problems that nearly wiped out all humanity.

Emma would be sad those days, but there wasn't much she could do. Ning wanted to help them, but it was impossible to help everyone from a random earthquake toppling buildings, or a magical experiment that went wrong.

So, he and the others had let the world develop on its own.

And after the first few times, they realized that the world really didn't need their help at all. It in fact was better for the people to die.

Because from that was born a new group of humans who would do as good if not better than the humans that came before them.

Such was the circle of life.

Hundreds of years passed, and then thousands, but nothing changed for Ning and the others. They lived together as even hundreds of thousands of years passed.

Even after all that time, Emma looked no older than 8 years old. She was playing with Night in the sky one day when she paused and looked in a certain direction.

Without waiting for Night, she suddenly disappeared using a magic spell and appeared in the upper atmosphere where she saw a woman looking around curiously.

The woman looked surprised to see a child in front of her. "H-hello," she said.

Emma looked at the woman curiously as she was hearing some things from her that she didn't from the others.

Curious, she asked, "Who are you?"

consciousness awoke for the first time, one that was even more innocent and oblivious than a newborn child.

It could see, but it didn't know what seeing was. It could hear, but it did not know what hearing was. It could think, but it did not know was thinking was.

It looked around itself, but every single thing it saw confused it. After all, the vision itself was new for this thing.

The visions changed a few times, but most of the time they would return back to the same thing it was always used to seeing.

The sounds, however, were rarely the same. It was all similar sounds in new variations every day. The consciousness couldn't discern how similar or different they were though.

Its thinking slowly improved with time. It realized that what it was seeing was things that were physically available in front of it.

Some time passed and it was able to discern the things that were capable of moving, from the things that were not.

The things that moved usually changed shapes very easily. They also made sounds mostly, which originated from a small area at the top.

The consciousness was starting to understand what humans were.

The human children ran around in a room and the consciousness silently observed them, trying to learn from them. Slowly, it got a little more intelligent and was able to discern information from noise.

Most importantly, it could tell that the humans sometimes made sounds intentionally, using their mouths. It started focusing on that exactly.

The human children would play around in the room where this consciousness had awakened, and sometimes they would come up to it and grab it.

"Teiwo Ghabixla Trepakali!!" the children shouted at it. The consciousness would listen to the words but it did not understand anything. It was still going to take a while before the consciousness realized that the children were trying to communicate.

Ads by Pubfuture

Some more time passed, and the children remained children, running around playing. From what the consciousness could tell, there were 8 different children. Not that it knew numbers or anything.

It simply remembered the faces of the children that came to play in the room.

The room had nothing but a few chairs and a side of the wall that was… full of random stuff. Not a single one of the children would be able to tell what exactly they were.

It wasn't just the children that came into the room, however, bigger children came as well. They never came a lot, and it took the consciousness a while to realize that they may not be children actually.

Whenever they came, they would look at the wall and speak. The consciousness had no idea what they were saying at all. They would speak for a longer period of time than the children, so it was hard to comprehend any meanings at all.

At least the children would simply grab the consciousness and start saying "Teiwo Ghabixla Trepakali!!" to it. They would only repeat these three words.

The consciousness took some time to realize that the sounds the children meant actually had some meaning to them. It wasn't just random uttering.

Some more time passed and the consciousness grew even more intelligent. By now, it was starting to experience the passage of time, instead of everything feeling like it was a fleeting moment to it.

After the children would come and play in the room, they would leave the room, and the consciousness would wait the entire night for them to come again. It was then that it began to realize how long a night really was.

The children almost always came to play in the room, and so the consciousness started learning from them now.

It understood what playing was. It understood that you were supposed to run around. It understood that you were supposed to laugh when someone touched you.

It was slowly understanding more and more.

At some point, it started assigning the words the children spoke to the task they did.

For example, when someone said "Heek!", everyone would run. So, that word most likely told the children to run away.

Ads by Pubfuture

"Nwaan na" meant "come here", "Yolta ba" meant "let's stop."

The consciousness, over the course of an entire year, observed the children playing, and slowly started learning more and more words from them.

It thought it knew what it was hearing now. Almost all words made sense and had meaning. It wasn't until an adult would come and speak to the wall that it realized that it knew nothing about speaking at all.

Seeing that, it never tried to think of itself as knowing too much.

Some more time passed, and the consciousness continued to grow. At yet, at no point did it ever come across any conversations or games that would let it understand what "Teiwo Ghabixla Trepakali" was.

It was just a random string of words spoken by children that had no meaning to the consciousness as of yet.

That was until one day an adult came to the room and started playing with the children.

This wasn't a very rare instance, of course, but it was still rare enough to confuse the consciousness. It was mostly because when adults came around, the children wouldn't run around laughing, but rather stay in one place and laugh.

That made no sense to the consciousness at all.

It continued observing the game the adult was playing with the children, which was a weird one.

The adult would speak some words, starting with 'Teiwo', and the children would repeat the words after discarding the first one.

If the adult didn't say 'Teiwo' the children would not speak at all. If they did, everyone would laugh and say they lost.

The adult went away sometime later and one of the children grabbed it again.

"Teiwo Ghabixla Trepakali!!" they said.

The consciousness realized what that meant. It was supposed to repeat what the child said but without the first word. It did not know the meaning behind the words, but it spoke softly.

"Ghabixla Trepakali."

Restoring the system. Please wait.

The consciousness was surprised by the random sounds coming from nowhere that it could somehow understand. It didn't even know what words were being spoken, but somehow the meaning was being passed along.

System has been restored.

Energy cap has been restored to what it was before you were captured

Unfortunately, all skills, knowledge, and memories have been removed. Would you like to buy them again?

The consciousness heard the system, but it didn't respond at all. It wasn't sure it was supposed to respond.

Would you like to buy your skills, knowledge, and memories again?

The consciousness heard it once more, but it did not answer.

Please reply 'Yes' or 'No'. Would you like to rebuy all the skills, knowledge, and memories that have been removed during the restoration?

The consciousness finally understood what it was supposed to do. "Yes…?" it spoke, out loud in fact. That surprised the child that was holding him.

The child was surprised and they threw it at the wall. Whatever the consciousness was in crashed onto the wall, making everything in the wall fall to the ground.

You do not have enough Energy to buy everything right now. Please request once again the required energy.

The consciousness didn't understand what that meant, so it stayed silent this time around.

A woman ran into the room quickly and looked at the situation on the wall. Everything that had been kept on the wall had fallen to the ground and was now a jumbled mess.

She spoke to the child that had brought her along and asked something that the consciousness did not understand at all.

Would you like to buy the language?

The consciousness thought for a second. "Yes?" it spoke. This time again, the voice came from the material it was in.

You only have enough energy for Intermediate language. Would you like to buy that?

"Yes," the consciousness said once more.

Confirmed.

You have bought Intermediate Illarian Language

"Which one was it?" the woman from outside the room spoke up. "I am sure I heard it just now."

"I think it's that one," the child pointed to a random piece of item on the floor, which wasn't consciousness at all.

The woman picked it up and spoke to it. "Is this you?" she asked. "Are you awake? Please speak if you are awake."

The consciousness was very surprised to hear words that clearly made sense for the very first time. It was not a random bunch of gibberish that it had to make sense of, but was rather words that held meaning to it.

Of course, it only held as much meaning as the consciousness could give to it, but that still was quite a lot to its mind.

"Please speak," the woman said to the thing that she was holding onto. The consciousness failed to realize that she was speaking to it, and continued to keep quiet.

After a few seconds more, the woman dropped the item. "No way this is it," she said. "Are you sure you don't know?"

"No," the child said. "It said 'System Activate' and I got scared."

"Hmm," the woman thought for a bit and stood up. She stepped back a bit and spoke out loud. "Say System Activate."

The consciousness was alerted when it heard that. It knew what it was supposed to do when those words were spoken in that order. It was supposed to remove the first word and say, "System Activate."

Ads by Pubfuture

The woman heard it clearly this time around. She looked at the pile of objects from where the sound was coming and honed it towards it.

"Say System Activate," she said again.

"System Activate," the consciousness repeated, although it was wondering where that voice it had been hearing all this time had gone to.

The woman pulled out a few things from the pile and scattered them around on the open floor. Then, one last time she asked again, "Say System Activate."

"System Activate," the consciousness repeated.

The woman finally grabbed onto the object where the consciousness was in. "Finally," she said with a bright smile. "I found you."

The consciousness observed her face with a confused mind. It did not understand what she meant at all.

The woman stood up and started walking out of the room with consciousness in hand. "Nigel will be very happy to know that your system has been activated finally. She's been waiting for you for a very long time."

The woman walked through somewhat familiar hallways. The consciousness remembered the children bringing it out on occasion. But there were so many items in that room, that it rarely got to go out at all.

The woman took consciousness through the side of a window, through which the consciousness got to see the beautiful blue skies. It wondered what the massive, round things floating in the blue were.

"She's awake, guys," the woman said to some other women that were walking through. Everyone who heard that followed her.

She soon had a small gathering of people following the woman, and the consciousness couldn't help but wonder what was going on at all.

Down a set of stairs, the group of people arrived at some sort of dark room that the consciousness assigned with nighttime because of the chill and darkness.

They all walked over to a table that was not really a table, but rather some sort of box. The consciousness watched as they all opened the box and inside was another child, seemingly not moving at all.

The consciousness expected the child to speak, but the child did not even make a single sound. That was a new experience for the consciousness.

A few of the women brought the child out and some red and orange stuff was started around the girl, which made the consciousness think it was day again.

"Switch bodies with this," the woman said as she placed the object on the child's body.

The consciousness wasn't aware of what she meant at all.

"Say 'System, switch my body to this'," the woman said.

"System, switch my body to this," the consciousness spoke.

Understood. Switching bodies

The little girl looked around, not knowing what she was looking at really. A moment ago, her view had been multidirectional, but suddenly, she could only see in front of her and not to the sides.

It took her a moment to realize that she could see around her, but she needed to consciously change how she viewed things.

"Can you talk?" one of the women asked.

The little girl simply looked with a gawking face as her eyes moved everywhere, trying to look at all the children she used to watch play and the adults that she sometimes saw.

"We're not going to hurt you," one of the girls said. "You can speak with us."

The woman who had brought the consciousness here looked at her. "Say I can."

The little girl's eyes widened slightly and she spoke. "I can." Everyone looked at her weirdly when they realized that she was speaking without opening her mouth at all.

"Can you speak with your mouth? Like we do," another woman asked.

The girl stared at them blankly, not knowing what to do.

"It's like I'm talking to a wall that sometimes speaks," one of the women said.

"Leave her alone for now. She might be in too much of a shock to say anything," one of the women said. "Let's leave this cold cellar for now."

The woman reached out her hand to the little girl and the little girl looked at the hand quietly.

"Come," the woman said and extended her hand ever more, but the little girl had no idea what she was supposed to do.

"Your hand. Put it here," the woman said.

The girl looked around and saw that she had similar things to what the lady had brought next to her, so she put both her hands onto the woman's extended hand.

The woman chuckled slightly and let go of one of the hands. "One is enough," she said. "Can you walk?"

The girl didn't understand.

"Walk," the woman said. "Uhh… she really doesn't know anything, does she?"

Another woman walked up front. "Why not make her buy some basic human knowledge? I don't know how much energy she has, but that should be possible right?" she asked.

"Oh, that should work. I wonder if she has enough energy though," one of them said. "It's basic knowledge, so it shouldn't cost much."

They then made the little girl buy a bit of information, which at least gave her the knowledge of how to act and interact like a human.

"Hello, can you speak now?" the woman asked.

"Yes," the girl said, this time speaking with her own mouth.

All the women around her smiled when they heard that. The woman at the front, the one with blue hair and deep green eyes took charge. "Do you know where you are?" she asked.

The girl shook her head.

"You're in the Rosegrain family house," the woman said. "Come, we can talk after we leave here."

The little girl nodded innocently and took her first step, something she had never done before this, and yet it came so naturally to her.

The group let her have her own space as she walked up the stairs slowly. Once outside, the children were sent away, while the women took the little girl outside to the beautiful garden.

The garden was massive and had a big meadow in the middle with hedges full of beautiful flowers. The little girl was curious about everything, so she looked around curiously.

The women smiled as they watched the girl turn her head from one thing to another like some sort of puppy.

"Do you remember anything?" one of the women asked.

"Remember? No," the little girl said.

"Hmm, you will soon," the woman said. "Once Nigel meets you, you will get the help you need."

"Nigel?" the girl looked at them with a confused look. "Who is Nigel?"

"We are all married to Nigel," the woman said.

The little girl heard that and thought for a second. She understood what marrying was now that she had a bit of knowledge, so she looked at the woman and asked, "Nigel is your husband?" she asked.

"Well… technically not, but you can say that," one of them said.

The little girl was slightly confused. "Is Nigel the father of your children," she asked.

"Technically, yes," the woman said. "But I wouldn't really call Nigel a father."

The girl was even more confused. "Where is Nigel?" she asked.

"Not here, unfortunately," one of them said. "But we've passed along the message, so it shouldn't be very long."

The little girl nodded and looked around. As she did, she once again looked at the sky with the massive circular things that covered half the sky. To her knowledge, there was nothing that could describe what she was looking at.

"What is that?" she asked.

The woman looked up and said, "That's Gabeous II. It's the planet right next to Illara."

"Planet?" the girl was confused again.

"Planet, you know," one of the women said. "The thing we are living on. There are 12 habitable planets in this world, all of which surround us just like that. You can see another one about 12 hours later."

The girl nodded but she didn't really understand what was going on.

Just then, everyone turned their heads and looked in a certain direction. Their eyes seemed to notice something that the little girl could not.

It was only after a few seconds that the girl saw something too. By the time she could realize what it was, the thing had already arrived right in front of her.

A woman in her late 20s with long and beautiful golden hair flew down to the group of women.

"Oh, so you really are awake," the woman said looking at the little girl.

The girl looked a little confused. "Who are you?" she asked.

"Me? I am Nigel," the woman said with a bright smile on her face. "Just like you, I am another host of the Energy System."

The girl looked at Nigel with wide eyes, but not for the reason Nigel would have expected her to.

"But you are a girl," the little girl said.

Nigel was slightly surprised. "Yes?" she said. "What's wrong with me being a girl?" she asked.

"They said you were a man," the little girl said.

Nigel looked around at her wives, who chuckled lightly in response. "What did you guys say?" she asked.

"She's probably confused because she learned that you were married to us and had fathered children with us," the woman said.

"Oh, I see," Nigel said. "I just made a male body for a second so I could get them impregnated. That's why I'm a father. Although, I would rather be called mother by my children."

The girl's confusion reached a point where she didn't even want to question what the lady in front of her was saying.

"Are you not surprised that I have the Energy system?" Nigel asked. "I would've thought you would be surprised about that. It's not every day you meet someone with the same system as yours."

The girl was confused again, although this time it was words she had heard before. "What's the Energy system?" she asked.

"Oh dear… we've regressed that far back, have we?" she asked. "Bloody Bayrus must have experimented on you for a very long time for you to have lost all memories and understanding about everything."

The girl looked at her awkwardly, wanting to ask for more answers.

"For starters, the Energy system is a system we both have," the woman said. "It is the best system in the entire Omniverse as it makes you immortal and lets you travel the multiverse."

The words were not something the little girl could understand so the confusion only continued to increase more and more.

"Can you not understand what I am saying?" Nigel asked.

The little girl shook her head.

"Sigh, I can't explain it all to you here," she said. "I'm still traveling outside. Well, the basic thing you need to remember is that you and I are pretty much the same thing."

"We are the same?" the little girl asked.

Ads by Pubfuture

"Yes, not entirely, but we are very similar," Nigel said.

"But, you're so big, and I'm so small," the little girl said.

"You can be big too," Nigel said. "If you want, you can ask the system to age you up a bit. Maybe some 20 years."

"Ask my system?" the little girl asked.

"Yeah, ask your system," the woman said.

"Okay," the girl said. "Hello, system. Miss Nigel is telling me that you can age me up 20 years. Is that true?"

Nigel struggled to keep herself from smiling since this was the first time she had seen someone use a system like they were speaking to a stranger.

The system is capable of doing so. Would you like to age by 20 years?

The little girl nodded to the question, not even verbally answering.

As everyone watched, the little girl changed, and she was no longer little at all. The cloth she was wearing started tightening around her body and ripping at parts.

Nigel moved her hands suddenly the ripped clothes disappeared and a new set of clothes appeared on the older girl's body.

"You okay with your body now?" Nigel asked.

The girl looked around and realized that she had grown taller now. "We're the same," she said.

Nigel was about to deny her words, but she decided not to. She was still naive after all.

"You must not have many memories at all," Nigel said. "Let's talk outside. I'm already wasting quite a lot of time by staying in here."

As she said that, she waved her hands and suddenly the two of them disappeared from the planet.

Nigel and the girl appeared on the deck of a spaceship that was flying through the dark sky with many brilliant dots all around.

The girl looked through the window at the front and was in absolute awe at what she was seeing, as it was the first time she saw such a thing.

Nigel looked at the girl act just like a child would and even wondered if she should not help her remember anything for a while so she could enjoy this, but in the end, her conscience won over her.

"10 years have already passed," she thought as she looked at the ship's system. "I should find a place to stay for a while so I can go visit my children."

She then turned around and looked at the girl looking back at her. "Where are we?" she asked.

"We're on my spaceship," Nigel said.

"Spaceship… is that… a planet?" the girl asked.

"What? No," Nigel said.

"The other women said what we're living on is called a planet," the girl said.

"Sigh, no. They are separate things," Nigel said.

"Oh," the girl said. "Where are the girls then? Where is the planet?"

"They are all in my inner world," Nigel said.

"Inner world? What's that?" the girl asked.

"You're a curious one, aren't you?" Nigel asked. "Inner world is a world that is within you. You have to make one using Space stones. The larger you can find, the better."

"Do I have an inner world?" the girl asked.

"I don't know," Nigel said. "Why don't you ask your system?"

"Okay," the girl said. "System, do I have an Inner world?"

The girl got an answer and turned towards Nigel. "It says I do."

"Oh," Nigel was surprised. "That's surprising. What is in your Inner world?"

The girl asked the system again. "A sun and a planet with many people in it," she said.

"Holy shit!" Nigel was surprised. "You must have family there then, or someone who is waiting for you to return. I can't think of why else you would create one. You should check it out."

"I can go there?" the girl asked.

"Just ask your system for help."

The girl asked the system and very quickly disappeared from where she was. She appeared in her inner world and saw the beautiful blue planet.

She slowly floated down towards the planet when she paused. In front of her was a little girl who looked at her with a curious look on her face.

"Who are you?"

Who are you?" the child in front of the girl asked.

The little girl was wearing a small pink frock with a red headband on her head. She was barely 8 years old in age and was no different from the many children the girl was used to seeing on the other planet.

The girl looked at the little girl in front of her, flying in the sky so mighty high, and wondered how she was doing that. She herself was flying in the sky as well, and that was a bit surprising too.

'Is she like me?' the girl wondered. she couldn't understand the words, so she had to buy a language to understand.

The little girl perked up a little and was about to ask something when her little head turned around somewhere down below.

The girl looked below as well since she noticed someone approaching. Well, she noticed everything in this world, but this one stuck out for her as she sensed a rather odd feeling from this.

A man appeared in front of her and slowly moved toward the little girl. Behind him, many others were on their way here as well.

"Emma, who is this?" the man asked, and the girl realized that she hadn't learned the little girl's name just yet.

'Emma,' she thought.

The little girl looked back at her one more time before turning back to the man. "Papa, this is someone who came from far away," she said. "I came to meet her."

"You don't meet strangers without your parents. You even left Uncle Night behind," the man said before turning towards the girl. He looked at her for a while, but he couldn't figure out anything at all.

The girl had no cultivation base and certainly had no mana. It didn't look like she had any sort of equipment on her either. 'Then how is she flying?' he wondered.

"My name is Ning, who might you be?" Ning asked, finally unable to stand his own curiosity.

"Ning…" the girl said slowly. "I am…" the girl paused. "I am me," she said. "I have no name."

"No name?" Ning asked. That was suspicious. "Where did you come from?"

"Planet," the girl said after thinking for a while. "Illara, they said it was called."

"You came from a planet named Illara?" Ning asked. Ely and Night had appeared behind him by now and they were all hovering in the stratosphere, talking with the people.

"Yes," the girl said.

"Where is this planet Illara, if you don't mind me asking," Ning said.

"In Nigel," the girl said.

"Nigel? Who is Nigel?" Ning asked.

"She's like me," the girl said.

"Like you?" Ning asked curiously. "How so?"

"She is an owner of the Energy System, just like me," the girl said.

Ning took a moment to process the information, but when he did, he couldn't help but come to a conclusion. It wasn't just him, even Night and Ely behind him were of the same mind as well.

"Sorry, how did you get in here exactly?" Ning asked.

"I was told by my system that this was in my Inner world. So I came to check," the girl said.

Ely grasped her mouth in shock when she heard that. Tears started dripping down her eyes as she came to the same conclusion as Ning.

Night was slightly confused, however. After all, he and the rest were told a different story as to what exactly had happened to the system.

"This is your inner world? Are you sure?" Ning asked.

"Yes," the girl said.

"Then do you remember who you are? Where you came from? How you got the system?" Ning asked.

"I don't know who I am, but I awoke in Illara. As for the system, it came to me when I said 'Activate System'," the girl said.

Ning took a deep breath. "Have you not bought your memories yet? Or even checked your system status?" he asked.

"What's that?" the girl asked.

"Say status, and see what is reads," Ning said.

"Okay… status," the girl said.

Something appeared in front of her, both visually and in her mind's eyes. The blue panel floated in front of her with information on it that the girl could surprisingly read.

[Status

Name: Ning Ruogong

Energy: 51.8 Billion

Skill: Intermediate Illarian Language, Beginners Earthen Language, Basic Human Knowledge]

"Ning… Ruogong…" the girl read. "It says that's my name."

Ning smiled. "That's it," he said. "You're Ning. You're finally back. It has been so long."

"I am Ning too?" the girl asked. "Isn't that your name?"

Ning chuckled. "You really can't remember anything, huh?" he asked. "Ask the system to give you all the memories you've lost."

"Okay," the girl said. "System, give me all the memories I have lost."

Understood

Suddenly, the girl felt the energy in herself disappear and a wave of information hit her head that she struggled to understand for a second. However, slowly, the information melded into her memories and become things that she had always known.

She looked up at them with wide eyes and gave a genuine smile. "I… I can't believe it," she said.

"Ning?" Ely asked curiously. She slowly moved forward to make sure Ning had in fact remembered himself.

"Hey Ely, I'm back," the girl said.

"You're really back!" Ely shouted as she moved forward and grabbed Ning into a tight hug. Ning felt his body crack, but he didn't feel much pain. He reached back and hugged Ely too.

"Papa, who is she? Why is mama hugging her?" Emma asked.

Ning chuckled slightly, not knowing how to answer.

Ely let go of the female Ning and looked back at the other Ning and Emma who were together.

"Emma, come here," Ely said.

Emma slowly flew up to her mother and stood before her, looking at the girl in front of her.

The female Ning looked with wide eyes as he realized who this was finally. "This…" he looked at Ely and Ning. "Is this..."

Ely nodded. "Ning, meet your daughter, Emma."

Ning's eyes went wide for a moment and he started tearing up. "Emma, come give your father a hug."

Emma looked at the female Ning weirdly and turned towards her mother. "Mama, what's going on?" she asked.

"That's your papa," Ely explained to her.

"But that's my papa," Emma pointed towards Ning who was behind them.

"Yes, he is," Ely said. "But so is that. Go give him a hug, okay? He needs it."

Emma didn't understand but nodded regardless. She flew up to Ning slowly and wrapped her tiny arms around his chest. "Mama said you needed my hug," Emma said as she hugged him even tighter.

Ning felt the strength behind the grip and knew if he wasn't the god of this world, this body might have already died.

"You're… so strong," he couldn't help but say. "But… how?"

He looked towards the others for an answer, but none of them could give him any answer at all. He decided not to care and hugged back his daughter.

He picked her in his arms and looked at the other two. "How long was I gone?" he asked.

"About 120 thousand years," Ning said. "It's hard to keep track of time when it is that long, so I don't really know if I'm right."

Ning nodded when he heard that. 'System, how much time has passed here?' he asked.

143,242 Years

'I see,' he thought. 'And what about outside?'

A little over 42 Million years.

Ning's mind didn't comprehend the number for a moment and had to consciously think of how long that was.

All the days he had lived didn't amount to a single million years at all, and somehow over 42 Million years had passed outside.

"Why is he lost in thought?" Ely asked softly.

"He's talking with the system," Emma said.

"Ah," Ely said, nodding to herself, before being surprised. "How do—"

Ads by Pubfuture

"Ah!" he said. He quickly let go of Emma. "You guys go back for now. I'll come back in a bit. Someone's outside waiting for me."

"Oh, okay," Ely said and took her daughter. "Come soon."

"I will," Ning replied. He looked at himself for a second and remembered that he was still in his female body.

"I didn't make this body. How many changes can I make?" Ning asked the system.

The creator of this body has allowed you to make changes, so you can do whatever you want with it.

"Great, can you change it to look like what I look like right now, please?" he asked.

Understood

The system quickly changed his look and dress, becoming the same as the Ning that had left just moments ago.

"Good," Ning said. "Now, the question is… is Nigel really a host of the Energy System? I'm not being tricked, am I?"

The system cannot confirm that.

Ning paused. "Why is that? Is it because you're incapable, or are just choosing not to?" he asked.

The system cannot confirm whether someone is a host of the Energy system or not.

"Okay, let me rephrase the question. Is she a Will?" he asked.

No.

"That's good enough for me," Ning said and teleported back outside on the ship.

"Hmm?" Nigel turned around and was surprised to see Ning standing there, and not the girl that had just left.

"Are you… the same person?" she asked.

"Hi!" Ning said as he held his hand forward. "I'm Ning."

Nigel smiled and grabbed his hand in greeting. "I'm Nigel," she said.

Ning smiled back. "You said you're a host, just like me?" he asked.

Ads by Pubfuture

"I am," Nigel said. "Is this your first time seeing another host?"

"Yes," Ning said. "Honestly, I thought hosts were rare. I didn't expect to meet you at all."

"I wouldn't have met you either," Nigel said. "Were it not for the system beacon."

"Beacon?" Ning asked. He tried to remember, but before he could remember anything like that, Nigel answered him.

"When you are in a precarious situation where the system can't help you to get out of it, it sends a beacon throughout the universe, requesting help from another host of the Energy system. Of course, I just happened to be passing by here when I heard your beacon and decided to come help," she said.

"I see," Ning said. "I didn't know the system would still send a beacon when I shut it down before I was captured."

"Hah!" Nigel gave a laugh. "You shut your system down before you were caught?"

"Yes," Ning said. "Is that bad?"

"No, it's not bad," Nigel said as she laughed. "It's just that a disabled system is apparently notoriously difficult to get into, even for a Universal will, not only a Galactic one. They have to spend so much time and energy just trying to get it to work that some don't even do it in their lifetime."

"Was Bayrus capable of doing it?" he asked.

"I don't know," Nigel said. "He was still working on your when I arrived, so probably not."

"And, I'm assuming you killed Bayrus?" he said.

"Of course," Nigel said. "And I rescued you too."

"Thank you for that, really," Ning said.

"Don't mind it," Nigel said.

"Thank you for not leaving me alone wherever it was you found me," Ning said. "Although, is there a reason why you placed me in your inner world, instead of keeping me out here?"

"There is," Nigel said. "Because before I helped you in any way, I needed you to wake up. However, it was impossible to tell when you would awaken because I didn't even know what you were."

"You were just a bunch of… rocks when I found you, and the system won't tell which of the rock holds you, so I had to take everything, including dust back to my house," she said. "My plan was brilliant, wasn't it? To have my children help you with activating the system."

"It wasn't bad," Ning said.

"Anyway, that's why I kept you there. Also because I wanted you to awaken faster. Still, you took over a million years to wake up," she said.

Ning's eyes went wide when he heard that. "I see," he said. "It must have been a pain to take care of me. This is a debt I hope you will let me pay in the future."

So, what do you want to do now?" Nigel asked Ning.

Ning thought for a bit and couldn't help but feel empty inside. "I don't know," he said. "I can't think of anything that I should be or could be doing right now other than being with my family that I haven't been with for a long time."

Nigel nodded. "You do have to do that, but what about after that?" she asked.

"I… really don't know," Ning said. "Is there anything I can be doing?"

Nigel shrugged. "That's for you to decide," she said. "Myself, I like to go find more women to be in my harem. I spend a few hundred thousand years with them, and then I'm done for a while before I move on to find another one. Do you think you can do that?"

"A harem?" Ning asked. "No, certainly not. I have a wife, and I'm happy with her. I also found out I have a daughter now, so that's fun too."

"Well, congratulations," Nigel said. "Although, in that case, I can't really help you much. You will have to find out what you like and what drives you forward on your own."

Ning nodded. Still, it was hard to imagine a future where he would be going across the cosmos when he would have a wife and daughter back home.

"By the way, how long have you been a host for, if you don't mind me asking."

"Hmm, I don't remember actually," she said. "It's been so long after all. System, how long ago did I get my system?"

The system gave her an answer and Nigel raised an eyebrow slightly in surprise. "Ooh, it's been 16 Billion years already. That's a long time, isn't it?" she asked jokingly.

Ning's eyes went wide when he heard that. "16 Billion?" he couldn't help but ask. How long was that even? He hadn't spent a single million years alive, and this girl had spent 16 billion years already.

"Oh right, I can give you one suggestion that will make it a lot more fun to travel the various planets," she said. "Forget about the unique energy on the planet before you go there, and don't ask the system for anything. The mystery and adventure of learning the magic itself are quite fun."

Ning thought for a moment and nodded. He could see how that would be fun.

"Also, another thing is to remove all of your memories from time to time and only keep the essential ones. That way, you don't get bogged down by nostalgia and a sense of loss when you remember everyone you've ever loved and had to leave behind is most likely dead."

Ning thought for a moment and felt his heart skip a beat when he realized what she meant. "No…" he said silently.

He remembered Anya, Hyesi, Aegis, and everyone else he had left behind on Gionia. His original plan had included him going back to them after he had taken care of everything on earth. There, he would gain enough energy and bring Gionia into his inner world as well.

A Star, Earth, and Gionia were the three things he had intended to keep in his Inner World. However, he had missed the chance for the last one.

And he had missed it by 42 Million years.

It had been so long. Were they still okay? Were they still alive?

It was such a long time that the entire solar system could've been destroyed in that amount of time and a new planet would be in its initial stage.

"What's wrong?" Nigel asked when she saw the look on his face, one that was filled with sorrow.

"I had people I left behind in the other Universe, it's been 42 Million years since I left them," he said.

"Well, that's happened, my friend. It is our life, there's nothing you can do about it. There is a chance they are still alive, but I'm not sure you can go back to the other universe at all. You don't have the energy for it," she said.

"The Universes were colliding, is it over?" Ning asked.

"I don't know about any such events in this Universe," Nigel said. "I came here not long ago after all."

Ning quickly asked his system and found out that the colliding Universes had indeed drifted apart so much that every single wormhole had disappeared over 40 million years ago.

Ning was saddened by the knowledge. If he wanted to go back, he would require a lot of energy with a lot of Space stones.

If he didn't have space stones, then he would require enough energy that could power a Super Massive Black Hole.

"Have you tried asking the system about them?" she asked.

Ning shook his head, but he simply didn't want to know. There was a chance that they were alive, but there was also a good chance that they were dead.

An Immortal God would still die if they had to survive in the vacuum of space after their world was destroyed. Ning didn't want to learn about that at all.

"Do you want to forget about them?" Nigel asked. "Remove their memories from your mind and be done with this sorrow?"

"No," Ning said. "I would rather live in the false hope of them still being alive than forget about them."

"Sure," Nigel said. "I was just suggesting anyway. After all, I've done it many times."

"Don't you feel guilty just forgetting about them?" Ning asked.

"Guilty? Certainly not," Nigel said. "Why would I feel guilty when I don't even remember who I removed from my memories."

Ning didn't say anything. He couldn't judge what a person who had lived billions of years must have had to go through, the guilt they would hold, the pain they would suffer.

He was in no position to call her anything other than what she was. A survivor. She was someone who would continue living however she could, even if it meant removing part of herself so it didn't drag her down.

Do you have any other suggestions for me?" Ning asked.

"Hmm, let's see…" Nigel thought for a moment. "Right, how many types of Energy have you unlocked?" she asked.

"Uh… let's see, Heat, Sound, Kinetic, Electric, Magnetic, Gravitational, and Radiant. So, 7," Ning said.

"Hmm, so you still have Chemical and Nuclear energy to go through," she said. "Do those as fast as you can."

"I will try," Ning said. "I only just got Radiant Energy, so it will take a while."

"It will, but you will be super happy to go past Nuclear energy," Nigel said.

"Oh, what's past Nuclear Energy?" Ning asked curiously.

Nigel was about to answer, but she stopped. "No, why don't you find out on your own? It will be a nice little surprise for you anyway," she said. "Although, you might have trouble going past the Nuclear energy. It is notorious for being one of the hardest to complete since it requires you to kill a Galactic will."

"Oh, that's alright. I've already killed one before," Ning said.

Nigel's eyes narrowed a bit. "You've killed a Galactic will before?" she asked.

"I got lucky," Ning said. "He was very weak from creating a system and a planet successively and I got to sneak up on him."

"Wow! That's some luck," Nigel said. "Then the rest should be very easy for you."

Ning nodded. He tried to think of what else to ask and looked around the spaceship. "Where are you going?" he asked.

"Toward Meghilars," Nigel said.

Ads by Pubfuture

"And that is?" Ning asked.

"A Galaxy," she replied nonchalantly.

"It's your destination or just someplace that's on your way?" Ning asked.

"I'm going to kill Meghilars and absorb his energy. With Bayrus and him, I should have enough energy to go to another universe," Nigel said.

"Oh… you collect energy like that?" Ning asked.

"Yeah, it's so simple that way," Nigel said. "I don't have to wait around somewhere for years just collecting energy."

"So… why are we on a spaceship? Why haven't you gone there directly?" Ning asked.

"Oh, never make the mistake of teleporting to a galaxy that you know has a Galactic Will. They will immediately find out you're there, and with the entire galaxy as their home turf, you have no way of winning if they get the headstart. The best thing to do is go to the closest galaxy and then take a spaceship this way. That way they will never find out that someone has sneaked into their galaxy."

"Oh," Ning thought as he noted down the information. It was good to have a veteran host teach him stuff that he would have otherwise had to find out painfully.

He looked outside the spaceship and saw the stars that were everywhere.

"We are already in the Galaxy?" he asked.

"Oh yeah, we arrived long ago," she said. "It will still take a long time before I fly to where Meghilars is though. I don't suppose you want to come with me?"

Ning hesitated. "You don't plan on having me be with you, do you?" he asked.

"Imma be honest. I would rather you leave me as soon as you can after you're back to normal," Nigel said. "It's not like I hate you or anything, but I like to fly solo."

"That's fair," Ning said. "If you don't have anything to teach me, then I suppose you can drop me off here somewhere."

"What sort of planet would you like to go to? One with a lot of girls?" Nigel asked. "I'm sure there are a few around here like that."

"I'm not looking for girls. I already have the two I need," Ning said.

"Whatever," Nigel said. "Then what sort of planet would you like to go to?"

"One without any human, if possible. Any planet that won't immediately be destroyed in the next couple thousand years. I want to stay in my Inner world for a while so I can spend some time with my family," Ning said.

"Oh, uhh… wait for a second," Nigel said. Suddenly, an astral chart appeared around the two of them as Nigel pinpointed where they were.

"I'm going here, so on the way, I have… right, these 5 planets I can take you to. They are planets where you can live in, but at the same time, they don't have humans. Humans have yet to evolve there," she said.

"You can drop me off at the nearest one," Ning said.

The chart disappeared and they were still on the spaceship. "That's settled then," Nigel said. "Also, a side note. You will be spending some time inside the Inner World, right? Will you be leaving anything to guard yourself?"

"To guard me? No," Ning said.

"You probably won't need one here, but you should try and find some guard for yourself in the future. You are nothing but a point in space when you go in, so any sort of Will that can capture that space can capture you in there. They may even follow you into your inner world through that point in space. It's really dangerous."

" Also, because time moves so quickly on the outside than the Inner world, you usually don't have enough time to react even if you do get an alert or something from your system. In those cases, it's necessary that you keep some sort of defense on the outside."

"I see, thank you for telling me," Ning said.

Nigel nodded. "One last thing," she said. "Do not absorb any energy for the foreseeable future. If that bloody Will finds out we're here, he will go into hiding and I won't find him again."

"I can't absorb energy here at all?" Ning asked. "That's until you kill him right?"

"Of course," Nigel said. "You are free to do what you want after I've killed him."

Ning accepted that offer. "Please send me a message once you've killed him so that I don't waste my time without absorbing any energy," he said.

"I will," Nigel said. "Now, get ready. We will come upon your destination at any moment now."

Nigel stopped on a planet that was filled with beasts of enormous size, barely evolved primates, and an ever more weird life.

"You sure you want to be here?" Nigel asked as she looked around. It would take a few hundred thousand years before humans were civilized enough to live in a well-established society.

"Yeah, it's fine. I won't be here for long anyway," Ning said.

"Alright. I'll be leaving then. I'll see you in the future," Nigel said.

"Sure, thanks for everything."

Nigel flew away in her spaceship, living Ning in the prehistoric-looking world. He remembered her words and decided to spend some time unlocking the next set of energies.

Chemical energy specifically needed him to witness a million chemical reactions. He had already started on this, but there hadn't been much to it.

Ning went out and found a place where he could stay for a while. Although he didn't need to worry about that as he would be just a point in space, he didn't want to be in a place where he would either be buried or be in a volcano when he arrived back.

Ning flew into the air, far enough that no change would cause him a problem, but at the same time low enough that the space he would disappear to wouldn't slip away from the planet as the further he went from the planet, the less it had its hold on it.

Once he was in the perfect spot, he teleported into his Inner world.

He arrived in the vacuum of space, but as the god of this world, he didn't need to worry about his body freezing or dying in space at all.

He teleported onto the small island where his family was staying and looked around to see the various things that he wouldn't have otherwise expected to see here at all.

His mind scanned the entire world, surprised at how much it had changed.

"It looks so… medieval," he thought. The world had gone through many different cycles and was at the starting phase of one of such cycles. However, somehow the humans didn't look that different, despite it being over a hundred thousand years since the last time he had been here.

'How did they not evolve even the slightest?' he wondered.

Emma appeared in front of him first and pointed at him. "Why do you look like papa?" she asked.

Ning smiled. "Because I am your papa," he said.

"Why do I have two papas?" she asked.

"You only have one papa," Ning said as he grabbed her and picked her up. "Your papa and I are the same people, you know."

"Same?" Emma asked.

Ely and the rest had realized that he was back as well and were walking out. One by one, everyone appeared outside, very confused as to why there were two Nings.

Ning looked at the small village-sized number of people, with many that he had never even seen before. The only ones he recognized even were his grandmother, uncle, brother-in-law, and his two cousins. The rest from what he could guess were their spouse, children, and grandchildren.

"Hey everyone, I'm back," Ning spoke.

Everyone looked confused and looked at each other. They then looked at Ning that was with them and waited for an answer.

"I told you guys that I have lost the system before and that I was just a normal person," Ning said. "I had lied. That is the real me who had been taken away by someone powerful. We decided to lie so you wouldn't get worried."

Ning looked at his own clone with a weird look on his face. He had never expected them to have lied about him the entire time he was missing, but when he thought about it, he would have done the same.

He was him after all.

"I'm back now, so no worries," Ning said and moved on. "Let's go inside, I want to hear about everything I missed in the many years since I've been missing."

Everyone was still weirded out by there being two Nings, but the more they understood what was happening, the less they questioned their decision.

They couldn't imagine what it would have been like living so many thousands of years knowing that one of them was out there being tortured by what could only be considered a real god.

"At least you are back now. You can live here happily with us," his grandmother said.

Ning smiled. He was happy that his grandmother was still alive. He would've expected her to be, but reality still made him quite happy.

His uncle was there too to talk.

Ning met with his cousins-in-law who had some idea about his system, but not enough to make them understand what exactly they were witnessing.

He talked a bit with Chase and her wife, as well as the children before everyone returned to their own place, leaving Ning and the rest alone.

"I'm sorry they had to lie to you too," Ning said as he looked at Blue, Night, Sorlus, Saphandra, and the rest.

Saphandra seemed to not be as intelligent as she once was, and the other 3 spirits were in an even worse situation. They had lived hundreds of thousands of years without any Spiritual energy to use, so any abilities they did use only made them worse.

He decided to buy some more spirit spaces and have them restored in there for a while.

"You don't have to be sorry. I'm just happy you are back, master," Blue said.

Sorlus nodded as well. He was big now, looking like a middle-aged man if anything. Ning was still the same, not speaking at all.

He only nodded and said nothing.

Ely looked towards him and asked, "do you want us to tell you everything? Can't you just learn everything from him?"

Clone Ning nodded. "Yes, that will be quicker and easier," he said.

Ning thought for a moment and nodded. "Very well then," he said. "System, link our memories."

The system linked Ning and his clone, which was truly just the ring he was wearing. Once they were linked, Ning took the ring and changed his body back to his original one.

Suddenly, he felt a strength that was unusually strong and understood that his body had grown quite a lot in the past hundred thousand years.

Emma looked worriedly when she saw what had happened. "What happened to papa?" she asked.

"Nothing," Ely said. "Look, papa's back."

Ning smiled lightly as he remembered everything he had done, every feeling he had felt, every memory he had made.

Every single experience was his, and to him, he was the one that had done it all.

"We will leave you alone for now, master," Night said and walked out of the house. Blue, Sorlus, Saphandra, and the rest left as well.

Ning nodded as they left and turned back towards his wife and daughter. "You love papa, don't you?" he asked as he took Emma from Ely and held her in his embrace. "Give papa a kiss."

He gave his left cheek forward and Emma giggled slightly before kissing him on his cheeks.

"Aww, my daughter is so cute," Ning said as he kissed his daughter as well. "Mwah!"

He played with her for a while, and Ely watched with a wide smile on her face. She had never felt this happy and relieved in her entire life at all.

"Alright, that's enough you two," she said as she pulled Emma away and held her. "It's time I get some answers from you too."

"Answers? What sort of answers?" Ning asked.

"Well, first of all. What happened to you? How did you survive and that sort," Ely said.

"Oh, uhh… let me get the correct accounting from my system," Ning said.

Ely nodded and waited until he got all the information.

"So, Bayrus captured me and took me to the adjacent universe at the time through one of the wormholes. He came back here and went into a space of his own where he destroyed my body until only the energy part of me remained and started trying to break through the barrier of the system to learn more about how it was created."

"Before he could learn anything, however, he had to enable the system so he had an easier time. He could learn something while it was disabled, but it would be highly limited. So, he spent most of his energy trying to learn about it."

"He spent over 40 Million years trying to do that very thing," Ning said. "In here, you've only spent close to 150 thousand years, but outside, it has been over 42 million years."

Ely gasped when she learned that information. "No way!" she said.

Ning sighed. "It's true," he said.

Ely couldn't even begin to comprehend how much time that was. Before her thoughts could go anywhere, Ning continued.

"That entire time, my system was sending out a beacon to call for help. After 40 Million years of being captured, someone appeared and saved me," Ning said. "Her name was Nigel, and she is another host of the Energy System, just like me."

"Nigel?" Ely asked.

"Yeah, she just left like 10 minutes ago when I was outside. I had only just met her, but it seemed she wanted to leave, so I let her go," Ning said.

"She saved you?" Ely asked.

"Yes," Ning said. "She saved me and kept me in her world until I woke up. That was maybe just a few days ago for me. After that, I came here straight away."

"I see," Ely said. She took the information and slowly consumed it until she learned it all. "42 Million years… everyone you and I knew must have been dead by now then."

"I don't know," Ning said. "I would rather not find out."

Ely understood the sentiment. "Alright, continue," she said.

Ning gave a weird look. "Continue? Continue what?" he asked.

"Answers," Ely said. "You know, the questions we have had for so many years. You now have your system back, so we can find the answers."

"Huh? Oh, right," Ning said as he realized what she was talking about.

There were 3 mysteries in precise that they wanted answers about.

First, they wanted to know what the lights were in the sky that would appear from time to time.

Second, they wanted to know why there were two different Origins on the same small planet, each with a different type of energy coming out of it.

And finally, they wanted to know why their daughter was born so strong.

Ning asked his system, and one by one he got the answers to his question.

"Those energies were Bayrus trying to break into my system," Ning said. "He used so much energy back then that they would periodically slip through into this world. That wasn't anything dangerous at all."

Ely nodded. They had expected Bayrus to be behind it after all.

"And the Origins?" she asked.

"The Origins are a little unique," Ning said. "Apparently, two Origins at the same time is a very rare case in any universe. A planet would have to have a very high amount of energy, far beyond its threshold for an Origin."

"In some cases, when there were too many energies, a planet would end up creating two Origins to compensate for the amount of energy the planet required, instead of just one," Ning said.

Ely was slightly confused.

"Well, think of it this way. If you go to a high-class restaurant, you end up paying a lot more, regardless of the food," Ning said. "It's the same thing. The planet had that much more energy due to the dungeons that were created and the energy from Bayrus."

"So, when the Origin did form, it formed so that it could keep up with the amount of energy that was already on the planet," Ning said. "As for the reason why there are two different types of energy, that's simply a matter of luck."

"Earth got lucky and happened to form two unique Origins."

So, Mana and Qi Origin forming was just a coincidence due to the high amount of energy on the planet when the Origin was starting to form?" Ely asked.

"Yeah, that's about right," Ning said.

"Such a thing is even possible huh?" Ely asked.

"Yeah, but it is extremely rare," Ning explained.

"At least we have an explanation now," Ely said. "And what about her?"

Ely held Emma in her lap and asked. "She took over 70 years to be born and came out stronger than me. That's not normal is it?"

Ning gave a rueful smile. "No, that is not normal," he said. "And the reason for that… well, that's not normal either."

Ely frowned. "Is it bad? Is something wrong with our child?" she started to worry.

"No, nothing is wrong with her," Ning said. "Although, you can judge it for yourself once you hear what is happening with her."

Ely waited for him to start explaining and Ning sighed. "It all starts with Bayrus again," he said.

"Bayrus? Why him?" Ely asked, slightly frowning.

"Not him, exactly, but the energy he was putting into my system, that was falling into this world," Ning explained. "It all started with that."

Ely was confused, so she kept on listening.

"At first, nothing happened with the energy that fell onto earth other than the fact that it increased the amount of energy on earth. That slowly lead to the point where the Origin was starting to form."

Ads by Pubfuture

"The two origins formed, which led to the planet being covered in even more energy. Then, when the Origins formed, a requirement had been fulfilled, one that was the last of the 3 requirements that needed to be fulfilled for something to happen."

"First, there were enough humans living on earth, which was the first requirement. The number of souls was exactly what was required."

"Second, there was enough energy on the planet. Usually, the amount had to be over a certain threshold, but this time around, there was nothing to worry about. Earth had infinitely more energy than was ever required."

"And finally, there was the last requirement. An Origin had formed on the planet."

"With all the three requirements fulfilled, Earth had become ready for its will to form," Ning said. "And it slowly did."

"For years it slowly developed on its own. The will was getting more and more sapient, but not to the point where it could manifest. However, something happened that stopped it from forming entirely."

"The energy coming from Bayrus was too strong and foreign to the will. Each time it happened, it would fear. It was young and naive, so it feared anything it didn't understand. As such, it started looking for a place to hide, a place where it could have others protect it."

As Ely listened to Ning's explanation, she could guess what the next string of words was going to be and was surprised.

"Are you saying…?"

"Yes," Ning said. "The Will searched for a place to hide, and it just so happened that it had gotten very familiar with you, who were cultivating by the Origin all the time it formed. So, it chose you to become its guardian."

"But… at that time," Ely's thoughts moved faster than she could speak, so she started speaking in broken words.

"You were pregnant, and the Will of this world went into our child," Ning said. "Emma is the Will of planet Earth. That is why she was born so strong."

Even Ning couldn't hide his shock as he spoke those words. Ely didn't even know what to say anymore.

"Mama, are you okay?" Emma asked when she saw that the both of them had stopped speaking.

"Mama is fine," Ely said before looking at Ning. She spoke with her spiritual sense. "Are you saying our daughter is not our daughter?"

Ads by Pubfuture

"What? No," Ning said. "She is still our daughter. It just so happens that she is also the will of the planet Earth."

"But how the hell can a human be a will?" Ely asked.

"They can," Ning said, before hesitating a little. "Although the type I know about is usually someone taking the place of a Will, not the Will itself being born to a human. But the system says it's possible, and only happens when the Will is terrified of coming out into the world due to outer influence."

"So… she is still our child?" Ely asked. "What about a soul? What about if the earth were to one day be destroyed? What about when the Origins disappear or the threshold lowers?"

"Don't worry, she still has a soul. If the world were to ever disappear, only the Will part of her would be gone. I don't know how much less powerful she would be at the time, but I don't doubt she will be any less strong than she already is. After all, she's lived so many years already."

Ely felt relieved when she heard that. She sighed and hugged Emma again.

Ning looked at Emma and said, "no more reading papa's mind, okay?"

"Eh? But it's so fun," Emma said.

"No, you can't read my mind," Ning said. "Reading minds is not something a good girl does."

Emma pouted a little. "Okay," she said.

Ning pinched her cheeks a little and shook her head. "No pouting," he said. "Now, tell your papa what you want. I can give you anything you want."

"Really?" Emma's eyes went wide. "I want to go see the other places."

"On earth?" Ning asked.

Emma nodded. "You always make me stay here, so I never got to see the other places. I want to go," she said.

Ning thought for a moment and nodded. "You're right. You've stayed in here for a bit too long. You need to see the outer world too," he said.

"Yay! We're finally going out," Emma said. "I know exactly where I want to go."

"There's no hurry," Ning said. "You, Mama, and I will go on a little family vacation and we will go through the entire world."

Ning, Ely, and Emma went on a trip around the world.

Their trip included going to every single place, every single city in the entire world, and staying there for a couple of days at least.

That would take them years to complete, but what else could they really do?

The trip started from the nearest place to where they were right now. Japan. Or at least, what was remaining of it.

In the last hundred thousand years, the country Japan no longer existed, and in its stead was a new land that was way too divided to have a name.

That was the case for every single country and location all over the world. Humans had died to almost nothing and went back to repopulating the planet so many times that the knowledge of the old world no longer existed.

No one remembered when the planet didn't have Qi or Mana. No one remembered when the sky wasn't always dark, but rather had stars.

No one remembered the people that had fought to save the planet. They didn't even remember there had been a war.

The animals and plants had evolved now that they were in constant contact with Qi and mana. They had all adapted to using one of them and had become strong with it.

Humans had also learned how to use it, but they hadn't evolved for it. They hadn't even evolved normally.

Ads by Pubfuture

Ning now knew why that was. It was all because Emma was so used to seeing their face that in her mind, that was what the humans were supposed to look.

As such, despite the years that have passed, the humans of this world always looked the same, never evolving. In fact, the plants and animals instead learned how to evolve to look like a human instead.

Ning arrived in a small medieval city on the island that used to be japan and found himself a place to stay. He made sure he and his wife and child have dressed accordingly so as to not stand out and started going around the city to learn about it.

They viewed its culture, its foods, and its people. They stayed in that city for a couple of days before moving on to the other cities.

The people there were cultivators more than anything as the Qi origin was close to them. The Mana Origin was on the other side of the planet, so Mana didn't really reach this side at all. Even if it did, there was no point in learning how to use mana when Qi was ever so abundant.

Emma was beyond excited to finally see the other people up close, and when the people did see her, they felt the urge to bow toward her.

It was only the weaker ones as the stronger ones didn't feel such an urge. Ning remembered this effect with Alexis back when he was in Vilmore and was surprised his own daughter had the same effect on the people here as well.

Although, now that he thought about it, it did make sense.

From one city to another, it took Ning about 2 years to go through the entirety of the islands that used to be Japan.

Once done, they took a flying boat to the nearest land and continued their travels.

The world had grown to be closer now than ever. There were teleportation formations everywhere and people themselves could just fly to wherever they wanted to either by themselves or using spirit boats that they could buy.

Years slowly passed and Ning's family traveled through many cities. They came across some conflict in a few places, but there was nothing a single punch didn't solve for it.

He was with Emma, so he made sure to not kill anyone, even if they deserved it. Emma herself couldn't kill anyone, and even hurting someone was hard for her, so Ning tried to avoid conflict if possible.

Ely was more fierce than Ning, but she too held back when it came to these conflicts.

The further the group moved from the Eastern lands, as it was called at this period, the lower the Qi and Mana became for them.

However, as they continued west, they realized that while Qi continued lowering, Mana was now on the rise. Slowly, cultivators were getting harder to find and magic users were getting more and more in number.

The population concentration of the planet had also been affected by this concentration of energy on two sides of the planet, which was why the eastern side of Europe, and most of Africa were very sparsely populated. Even when there were people living there, they wouldn't compare to the Cultivators and Mages of Eastern and Western lands.

It was nearly 11 decades later that Ning and the rest arrived at the Western lands, where their journey continued. They finished all of Europe in about 9 more decades, Africa in about 7, and moved on to the two Americas that were now known as the Mixed lands.

With Mana and Qi Origin being closer to them, both Mages and Cultivators could be found in this place, creating a rather unique environment to live in.

Ning and the rest spent about 9 decades in this place that was populated with quite a lot of people and had many, many cities for them to go through. After going through the Lone land that was the Australian continent, their trip had completed.

All in all, the total trip took their family nearly 40 decades to go through the entire planet. 4 centuries was enough for the planet to have changed again for them, but that was enough for them.

Ning returned back to the Qi origin where his family had made their place and lived the rest of the time with everyone there. This was all he had ever wanted and there was nothing he would ever want either.

His wife, his daughter, his family, and his friends-- they were Ning's world, and he had them with him right there. With them there, he could live happily ever after and not worry about a single thing ever again.

[End of Book 7: My World]

Ning opened his eyes in outer space, floating next to the sun. It had been many years since he had come up here to improve his physical strength.

This was the body that Nigel had given him. He was improving it as it was about time he left his Inner world and went back to the outer world.

If possible, he wouldn't want to, and he even felt that he wouldn't need to for the longest time. However, he didn't expect some small problems to pile up, all of which required him to go out again.

Emma had grown to be about 14 or 15 years old both mentally and in physique, despite being over 3 hundred thousand years now, and was finally in her rebellious phase.

She would frequently get mad at Ning over nothing and kept on blaming her parents for not having any friends. It was because of them that she was now so strong and slowly aging, and as such, she couldn't have any friends at all.

Ning had told her she could make friends with anyone on the planet, but she didn't like that idea. Everyone would usually be too nervous or reverent around her, and she did not find that to be friendship.

So, Ning had to go out and find other people that wouldn't act like that around her, who she could be friends with.

That meant, he was going to have to find an entirely different planet with many people of its own that he could bring in here for her to have friends.

Given how much energy was needed to do so, he was going to have to absorb a lot of energy.

Another problem was with his 3 beasts. Sorlus, Blue, and Night hadn't had any friends aside from their small group and they were desperate enough to find some partners of their own.

In fact, even the calm and collected Night asked him to help them go to some other place where there were females of their species.

It would take way more many years for the beings on this planet to evolve to become dragons and phoenixes, so Ning had to go out for that as well.

Another problem was the fact that in sun was slowly deteriorating. While it would take billions of years for the sun to fully finish burning itself off, Ning couldn't wait for that time.

He needed to change it frequently so that he didn't get into a problem where another Will would capture him and he would be gone for millions of years while the people of this world simply died in that time.

Finally, the last reason why he needed to leave was simple. He had witnessed a million total reactions of every single type he could find and now, he was one step closer to unlocking the Chemical Energy.

The only thing left for him to do to unlock it was to gather 1 Septillion energy, and that sort of energy was not something he could gather while simply remaining in this world.

So, he was preparing to leave once again.

He returned back to his family and met up with them. "Alright, I'm all prepared to leave," he told the few people that were there.

"Are you sure you you'll be gone for long, master?" Blue asked.

"Mm… no, not really," Ning said. "I will be staying outside for a long time, but time will move so much slower for you guys that you will barely even miss me."

"What are you talking about missing?" Emma asked. "Aren't you going to be right here?" She pointed to the other Ning that was there with them.

"I will be with you, but he won't," the other Ning said, pointing to the real Ning.

"I mean, it's the same thing," Emma said.

"Emma!" Ely spoke sternly. "Don't talk to your father like that. He's going out to find friends for you."

"Hmm, fine," She said, pouting slightly.

"Come on, give me a hug before I leave," Ning said to his daughter, who hesitated a bit. Ning ignored her hesitation and walked forward to give her a hug on his own.

Only after she was hugged that Emma finally reciprocated back with a small hug from her as well.

Ning hugged Ely and kissed her once before moving away. "Alright, see you in… I don't know, a month or two?" he said and disappeared.

He reappeared out in space, in the middle of nowhere.

"Huh?" he thought as he looked around. "Wasn't I in the sky of some planet? What happened?"

in the last 87 Million years you have been gone, the planet was struck by a giant asteroid, breaking it off into chunks. In the process, the point of space where you were staying was ripped away from the location and is now floating out in space somewhere far away.

"Oh, well… that sucks. I was hoping to be on a planet when I started," Ning thought as he looked around.

"How much does an astral chart cost by the way? Just for this galaxy," Ning asked.

55 Quadrillion Energy

"Status," Ning spoke.

[Status

Name: Ning Ruogong

Energy: 31.2 Quintillion Energy

Skills:…]

"Oh, I absorbed quite a bit while I was near the sun, huh?" Ning thought and quickly bought the astral chart.

With a 5.24 Trillion energy cap every day, Ning had acquired a lot of energy and had bought many of the things that had disappeared when the system had seemingly been reset.

"That's a good planet to start with," he thought. "I haven't seen that type of energy since Genesis. That should be fun."

Ning closed the astral chart he had just bought as he figured out where his next destination was going to be.

"Do I waste my energy?" he thought for a moment. In the end, the amount of time it would take to fly to his next location would take him a long time, so instead, he decided to simply open a portal to that location.

"Let's go on a new adventure then."

Ning arrived on a small island of… somewhere on a planet called Astoria. He had absolutely no grasp of anything about the planet aside from its name.

After all, right after arriving, he had asked the system to remove any knowledge he might have had about this place, its people, and its power.

Ning looked around at the island that had a few coconut trees, but other than that, the island was a small one with nothing really in there at all.

"What do I do now?" Ning wondered. Of course, he could fly around the world in a matter of seconds, but he didn't feel like doing that.

He was on an adventure, and as Nigel had said, it was better to experience it all by yourself, without using any of the system's help.

"I really should do that," Ning thought. He created another body next to him, one that looked just like his. However, unlike the other bodies he had, he didn't give this one anything else aside from making it acclimated to every single energy out there.

The only thing he added was a slight talent in everything. Not a whole lot to not have to work for it, but enough so that he wasn't trash.

"How much energy do you think this body can handle?" Ning asked.

About 200 Quintillion

Ning was surprised. "That's more than I would have imagined. Are you sure?" he asked.

Yes.

"Alright, I guess that's something," Ning thought and switched bodies. He took back his other body and was now on the island, waiting around with a weak body.

"Did I make a mistake?" he wondered. "Should I have maybe changed my body after I arrived in a place with civilization?"

Ning wondered if he should just teleport away, but that felt like cheating so he didn't. He looked out into the deep blue ocean with not a single thing in sight.

His new body had nothing in its stomach, so Ning felt incredibly hungry. "Urgh, that's such a bad feeling," he thought. It had been so very long since he had felt the hunger of this level.

"I should eat the coconut," Ning thought and turned towards the coconut trees. He went close and searched for some coconuts that might have dropped to the ground.

He did find a few, but…

"Wait, those aren't coconuts," he thought. The tree looked like a coconut tree, but the fruit most definitely was not.

Ning looked at the fruit and instead of being something that had an outer shell that needed to be cut through, it looked like this fruit was something that one could eat just as it was.

Just by the touch, Ning could tell the fruit was incredibly soft and it felt like it could tear at the slightest touch. He could also tell that there was a lot of juice inside, which would definitely help him stay hydrated in this ocean.

Ning tried to puncture the fruit with his fingers, but he found that the fruit was rather elastic. No matter how much he tried to puncture it, the shell would simply stretch, but nothing would get torn as he expected.

"Dammit, I can't open it," Ning thought. He tried some more, but his fingers started hurting instead.

"Screw it," he thought. "Let me find something sharp."

He looked around for some stick he could use to poke, but there wasn't anything like that there. These not coconut trees didn't have any branches in the first place.

Ning then looked for some stones, but it was more sand than anything in there.

"Dammit!" he thought. He thought of what he could use, aside from everything else he had in his storage at the moment. Opening the fruit itself was an adventure, and he didn't want to ruin the experience.

"What is sharp in an island?" he thought as he looked around. As he searched for things, he realized that he was surrounded by the ocean.

While he wasn't sure how dangerous the ocean was exactly, he was sure there would be fishes in there that would have died and most likely been swept up by the tides to this island.

He would have to check the shorelines to see if there were any dead fish. More importantly, he would have to see if he could find some sharp fish bones he could use to puncture this thing. If he could, that would be definitely amazing.

Ning walked around the island and was surprised that it took him longer to go around than he expected.

He searched for fish or fish bones the entire time or even anything else that was hard and sharp, but he didn't seem to have any luck today.

'Damn, am I going to have to give up on my systemless adventure on the very first day?' he wondered. That would be incredibly sad, but Ning didn't know what else he could do.

He definitely didn't want to go around hungry any longer.

He walked around, slightly depressed for a bit more when he stopped in his tracks as he saw something.

Something long was moving along with the foamy waves on the side of the beach. It moved up with the waves that hit the beach and would get dragged back toward the ocean.

It did that multiple times, but the object remained in the same place overall.

Ning's eyes went wide as he couldn't imagine his luck at all.

"A Sword?!" he shouted in disbelief. There was a sword in front of him. It looked rusty from what he could see, but Ning didn't worry about rust.

As long as it could puncture the fruit in his hands, he would be very happy.

He ran up to the sword and got down to pick it up. However, when he tried to, he nearly broke his spine because of how heavy the sword was.

The waves still moved the sword around as easily as if it were made up of styrofoam, but to Ning, it held the mass of a thousand elephants.

"What the hell?"

Ning stepped back and looked at the rusty-looking sword that floated up and down the beach on the water.

"What is going on?" he wondered. He tried once again, and it once again appeared so very heavy.

"Why the hell is this rusty sword so—" Ning paused. He looked closer and noticed something that he hadn't noticed before.

"Wait, is that rust?" he thought. The sword had a rusty color for sure with a cracked surface, but now that he was looking at it, that didn't look like rust at all, more like… well, he couldn't tell.

The closest thing he could think of when seeing it was dried mud.

"Is this sword made up of mud?" Ning wondered. "Why is it so heavy?"

He wondered if it was like with Qi artifacts, where it had to be refined before being properly used.

"I'm too hungry to care right now," he thought. He brought the fruit next to the sword and tried to cut it open.

The fruit opened in a clean slice and the juices inside started spilling out. Ning quickly placed the cut in his mouth and started drinking it.

As he drank, he found the fruit's juices to be so very tasty. It was such a refreshing drink that he didn't think he had drunk anything like that in a very long time.

He drank till his belly was full and burped a little. He chuckled at his own burp as he hadn't done that in thousands and thousands of years per his memory.

Once he was full, he sat down and looked at where the sun was in the sky. As he watched, he noticed a moon in the sky as well.

'Oh, that looks quite big,' he thought. The moon was either bigger or closer to the planet than it normally would be on other planets.

He sat there for a while, wondering what he was to do next. Just then, he felt something in his body. Some sort of… discomfort from what he could tell.

"What's happening?" he thought as he held his stomach. Something was definitely with him. Just as he thought that he realized what was happening.

He needed to go take a dump.

"But I only ate," Ning thought worriedly.

He quickly ran off to one side to relieve himself, only to notice that nothing solid was coming out at all. The juices from the fruit he had just eaten were coming out as it was, completely unabsorbed by his body.

Once done, Ning covered it with some sand and walked away.

"Did I… not get anything from that?" he thought to himself. That wasn't right at all. He wasn't feeling hungry and neither was he feeling weak at all.

If anything, he was energized, despite everything going to waste.

'Maybe it didn't go to waste,' Ning thought. He must have acquired something from the fruit, not nothing. He waited to see if that was just a feeling, but it became quickly apparent that it wasn't. He really had received all the required sustenance from the liquid.

The sun slowly started going down, and Ning couldn't find a way off the island at all.

"Guess I will have to sleep here then," he thought. He found some dried leaves from the not-coconut trees and piled them up before going inside it. He hoped that was enough to keep the chill off of him for the night.

Ning fell asleep rather quickly as his new body was strained quite a lot on the very first day. He did not feel any discomfort throughout the night.

There was no cold, no heat, and definitely no itchiness despite sleeping on leaves. He hadn't realized, but the energy in the liquid he had drank the other day had started affecting his body.

Ning had removed all of his knowledge of the energy, so he didn't even know what energy it was, so he couldn't guess it at all.

The entire night, the energy moved through his body, improving it slowly. The improvements were not very noticeable at the moment, but very soon, they would be.

Ning woke up, unaware of the changes in his body. All he could feel was hungry again. He looked out and saw the moon on the horizon. He had been facing the opposite side to where the sun was going to rise.

"Hmm, the moon looks smaller," he thought and got back up. Since he was hungry again, he looked for more fruits. While he would have to waste it all, the feeling of sustenance was what he looked forward to.

He found one of the fruits on the ground and walked up to the beach where the sword was. He had to look around for a bit before he found the sword. It seemed to have moved a few meters to the side over the course of the night.

He waited for a wave to float it up high and used the opportunity to cut his fruit again. He wasted no time drinking the fruit and finished it easily.

"What about this skin?" Ning wondered. He had thrown away the one from yesterday, but he wondered if he could eat it.

He started chewing it from the torn part, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't rip it off at all. The skin of the fruit was so very soft, but it was also so elastic that he simply couldn't destroy it at all.

Ning feared what would happen if he were to cut up such things and eat it, so he got rid of the notion entirely.

"Am I going to have to dump once more today?" he wondered. It had been less than a minute yesterday before he had to do it, so he assumed the same for today as well.

He waited for the entire minute, but nothing happened at all. "Oh, am I safe?" Ning wondered. It felt like he didn't have to worry about anything.

Just as he thought that he felt his stomach growl a little and he knew he had spoken too early.

"Dammit!" Ning cried out and ran for it once again. He found a place away from where he would sleep and relieved himself once again.

However, this time he noticed that the contents he excreted were a lot less.

He walked away wondering if he had drunk less. 'That's not right,' he thought to himself. The fruit was the same size, so he had to have drunk the same amount as yesterday.

"Maybe I absorbed a bit more today," he thought. "My new body must be getting used to food then."

Ning looked to the sky with a happy face and noticed a large moon there.

"Hm?" he thought and looked in the direction he now knew was west. "Wait, that moon is still there. Oh, two moons."

He nodded to himself as he understood what was happening. This planet had two moons. He remembered Nulwurn having two moons. "I wonder what their names are," he thought.

It felt very weird not immediately have the answer to such easy questions. But then again, that was part of the adventure he had set for himself.

"So, can I get out of this island somehow?" Ning wondered.

Ning decided to climb up a tree and see if he could see any ships on the horizon. Maybe he could set up some fire as well if he could find one to let them know he was here.

He sat on top of the tree for nearly half a day as he just looked at the horizon for something to show up.

It was a good place to absorb the 5.24 Trillion energies he could absorb today, as Heat and Radiant Energy were abundant in there. His body also absorbed Sound energy and some Kinetic energy from the wind.

If he could just get 1 Septillion energy somehow, he could collect energy by simply eating stuff. Anything in his stomach would give him the energy to absorb.

Unfortunately, that was still quite far away.

Ning waited for a long while before going down. He wondered what he could do here and started training his body to improve his physique. If it got stronger, it could absorb a lot more energy after all.

He spent the rest of the day training and then went to sleep. At night, his body would improve on its own, which he didn't become aware of.

Once he woke up, he would find another fruit and go drink from it after cutting it with the sword that he couldn't pick up. Ning gave up on even trying for now.

Every time he drank from the fruit, he had to take a dump. However, the period after which he had to do so and the amount he had to get rid of were slowly getting better and better for him.

At some point, it would be no different from eating normal foods.

Of course, Ning was starting to get suspicious that the energy of this world was affecting him. He didn't know what this energy was, but simply drinking a bit of fruit was not enough to sustain one for an entire day after all.

"I must be consuming the energy in it," he thought.

Days passed one after another, and Ning waited for a ship or something to show up on the ocean. However, as each day passed by, he started to become more and more certain that that was not the case.

He couldn't wait for someone or something to come save him here.

He had to make his way out of here on his own.
