This is going to be a little bit different. Instead of three chapters, we are getting two.
It's just looking things through and getting this to work. We'll see where we get, but I have fun on this weekend's challenge.
Although I doubt that I will have the complete fic done by Thursday.
There is quite a bit of exploring, but when you have solutions, you use them.
I also cut out bits where I found they weren't too important.
As before, the smut can't be rewritten by the AI.
The first chapter focused entirely on the Sekirei, and only in chapter eight was there also the Infinite Stratos.
I had to wait until the requester caught up on this chapter.
Maybe one day I'll be an honest man
Up till now I'm doing the best I can
Long roads, long days, of sunrise, to sunset
Of sunrise to sunset

Chapter seven: 01/05/2019
Chapter eight: 18/05/2019
"Matsu, why hast thou gathered us here?" Tsukiumi asked the question on everyone's mind.
"I've been thinking," Matsu began, adjusting her glasses to catch a glint of light, "about our Ashikabi, Minato, and the dynamics of our... let's call it a 'family.'"
Her voice carried a mixture of mischief and seriousness that immediately caught everyone's attention. Musubi looked up with earnest curiosity; Kusano's head peeked out from her lap, intrigued. Uzume tightened her hold on Chiho slightly, a protective gesture that didn't go unnoticed by the keen observer. Kagari's posture straightened against the wall, her interest piqued. Tsukiumi's eyebrow arched in suspicion, her arms remaining firmly crossed, while Kazehana swirled the contents of her glass, her expression one of amused anticipation.
"We all know how unique our situation is," Matsu continued, her voice lecturing, "with Minato being an Ashikabi to such a diverse group of Sekirei. And with Chiho here, it's even more special. It's... unprecedented."
"So, what is thy point, Matsu?" Tsukiumi's impatience was palpable, but Matsu wasn't deterred.
"My point," Matsu said, leaning forward, excitement building in her voice, "is that we need to think about the future. About how we can support Minato and each other in the best possible way. How can we ensure our family not only survives but thrives?"
Musubi's eyes sparkled with determination. "We will do anything for Minato!" she declared, Kusano nodding vigorously in agreement.
Uzume smiled, her gaze fondly resting on Chiho before meeting Matsu's. "I think I see where you're going with this, and I'm in. As long as it helps us all, and especially Minato."
Kagari pushed off the wall, moving to stand more centrally in the room. "Count me in as well. I may not always show it, but Minato's well-being is important."
Tsukiumi, still skeptical, finally uncrossed her arms. "If it is for the benefit of our Ashikabi... I shall listen."
Kazehana, silent until now, set her glass down and flashed a wide, knowing grin. "Oh, Matsu, always up to something. Let's hear this grand plan of yours."
Matsu nodded, pleased with the response. "Great! Now, let me ask you. Who of you wants to be knocked up by Minato?"
As Matsu had rightly bet, being the smartest being on the planet had its advantages. Musubi and Kazehana raised their hands without even looking, both blushing.
Kazehana did so because she was, if not more, then equally as perverted as Matsu herself.
On the other hand, Musubi saw beauty in it and found no reason for embarrassment.
Kusano was the third to raise her hand, and Matsu hesitated to involve her in this conversation. However, understanding that the youngest Sekirei would also be affected by this matter, she decided it was necessary to include her.
The situation was delicate, but Matsu, along with the other Sekirei and Minato, was determined to ensure that Kusano would neither be having babies nor engaging in sexual activities until she was of an age that Minato deemed appropriate. Consequently, she would have to wait for at least ten years.
The fourth person to raise her hand, her cheeks a deep shade of red, was Tsukiumi. "Doth thou have any idea what you are asking? How can one be so perverted?"
"You're the one who raised your hand," the cyber maiden retorted with a cackle, though she quickly returned to her more mature demeanor.
"It's good to see you all share the same sentiment. However, Kusano, it's safe to say you won't be having babies with Minato."
This elicited the predictable response from Kusano, who pouted. She always did that when she felt excluded.
"Mou, that's not fair. Why can the other big sisters have babies, and Ku cannot?" Matsu sighed, at a loss for words, until Musubi spoke up.
"Because Ku, to have babies, you need to have sexual intercourse, and Minato-san isn't comfortable with that. And I don't know if I can speak for everyone here, but neither am I."
"You can count me on that, Musubi. It's one thing to share our Ashikabi as a husband, but I will agree that the idea of sharing the bed sexually with an underage Sekirei isn't a thing I am in favor of." That was Tsukiumi's two cents.
"Neither am I. I don't mind sharing Minato with all of you as he has done with us, but I do not like the idea of you in his bed, Ku-chan," Kazehana added. While love was all well and good, there were limits.
"I don't think it's a good idea," Kagari added.
"No, Ku-chan," Chiho said.
"They're all right, Ku-chan. It's not a good idea. And Matsu, if you're going to discuss this, why involve Chiho-baby and me?" Uzume asked.
"Uzume, do you really think you can avoid this discussion?" Before Uzume could reply, Matsu interjected.
"Not a chance. Chiho-baby might wing you," she used the affectionate nickname, prompting a glare from the Ashikabi in the room, which Matsu found utterly adorable.
"But you forget, you shattered all our preconceptions about Sekirei when you were winged a second time by Minato. Thus, you're as much his Sekirei as you are hers. And let's not overlook your desire to have a baby, too."
"I understand the concept of Minato-san fathering Uzume's child, but what about me? I'm not a Sekirei. I'm a human woman. Surely, those rules don't apply to me." Chiho questioned.
Matsu shook her head in response, "Not at all, Chiho. First and foremost, you're an Ashikabi—a slight distinction. And since we've come this far, it's worth mentioning that you've shared his bed, just like the rest of us."
"And from what I thought, you liked it. If your marks on my breasts are anything to go by." Kazehana added, and Chiho turned into a steaming mess, which caused the Sekirei to laugh at her.
"So, I can safely assume that you both would be open to it," Uzume spoke for her blushing mistress.
"I've discussed it with her, and you're right, Matsu. The idea of having Minato as our children's father is appealing. So yes, I'm open to it." The room's attention shifted to the grey-haired Sekirei, who blushed under their gazes.
"What?" she asked, puzzled.
"You're the last one, Kagari-tan. You've made it this far. Are you sure you want nothing to do with Minato? It might be enjoyable for you," Matsu teased, prompting Kagari to ignite a flame in a display of irritation and power.
While the intended effect was to intimidate, it only intrigued Matsu further, sending a shiver of excitement. Eventually, the Flame Sekirei softened.
"I'll think about it and let you know," he said before exiting the room. The remaining group exchanged looks before turning their attention back to Matsu.
"So, we're all in agreement then. I believe we all desire this," Matsu concluded, her statement echoing the collective sentiment in the room.
"Perhaps it's time to consider Minato's perspective. After all, he will be the father of our children if we proceed with this plan," Chiho suggested, her smile radiating warmth that touched everyone's heart.
"I concur. Moreover, we must not forget Ichika, who has his own challenges to face. And we're all aware of how our Ashikabi is—always ready to lend a hand to others," added another.
Uzume found herself nodding in agreement. It was this very compassion that had saved both her and Chiho. Yet, there was one more consensus she could not help but acknowledge: her relationship with Minato had fundamentally altered the world's understanding of Sekirei.
That night, we had become the stuff of legends.
Line break
It had been a considerable time since the Sekirei had been resurrected, and life had gradually returned to normal for many. For some, this transition had been smooth, while others faced challenges.
Among the positive developments was that Namiji had been winged and had bonded with Koujji. They visited to extend a heartfelt invitation to their wedding—or the human ceremony. Uzume expressed deep remorse for the damage she had caused, and it was a relief that forgiveness had been extended.
In other news, with MBI no longer dominating the scene, life in Shinto Teito—or Tokyo, as some still preferred to call it—had been rejuvenated.
Homura's story offered another reason for celebration.
Yashima had escaped her coercive and abusive Ashikabi, Junichi Tanigawa, and had recently found solace with her true Ashikabi, Jin Sokai. A young man in his twenties, Jin worked in storehouses, living the life of a drifter. Unlike his peers, he favored overalls and helmets over traditional attire.
After a long day, Jin meandered home, hands in his pockets, lost in thought about his evening meal. Absorbed in his musings, he collided with Yashima, who was fleeing from Junichi.
Initially unaware of the situation, Jin caught sight of Yashima's fear-stricken face. As Junichi approached, menacingly brandishing a knife, Jin demanded he leave. Junichi's refusal led to a confrontation. Jin skillfully disarmed and subdued him, ensuring Yashima's safety before inquiring if she was alright.
Jin was indifferent to rewards or recognition, but the unexpected kiss and the emergence of wings made it unmistakably clear that a Sekirei had chosen him as her Ashikabi.
Homura observed, curious about Jin's reaction to this sudden bond. To Homura's surprise, Jin accepted the situation with a nonchalant shrug and invited Yashima to accompany him. Offering his hand, she accepted, and together, they left her former Ashikabi defeated on the ground.
The aftermath of the fight marked a significant change in Jin's life. Previously uninterested in romantic endeavors, he was now unprepared for the presence of a woman in his home—especially an alien one, albeit a strikingly attractive one.
Homura, who had been monitoring the Sekirei, noted the dwindling number of unwinged Sekirei as they found suitable Ashikabi. This shift signified a decrease in Homura's duties, observed as relationships formed and strengthened.
The celebration continued, and revelry reached its peak, with the majority of the attendees succumbing to inebriation. It became easier to identify those who were sober than those who were not.
Kusano abstained for obvious reasons, while Miya refrained to maintain her dignity and avoid giving her juniors any ammunition. Homura, ever the pragmatic one, chose sobriety, recognizing the importance of keeping a clear head amidst the festivities.
Minato and Takehito enjoyed a moderate amount of alcohol, staying well clear of the inebriated state that had claimed many of the Sekirei and Chiho. Chiho, in particular, found humor in how she caught Minato's eye, aware of the lengths he had gone for her and Uzume.
Speaking of Uzume, she was thoroughly inebriated, a vivid reminder never to challenge Kazehana to a drinking contest again.
Observing her Sekirei mingling with the others, Chiho noted Musubi's defeat by alcohol, sprawled out and utterly unconscious.
Tsukiumi remained by Minato's side, her inhibitions lowered by wine, revealing truths about her Ashikabi in a moment of drunken honesty. It was fortunate that Kazehana and Matsu were too intoxicated to react; otherwise, the inn might not have survived the night.
Uzume, finding solace next to Kazehana, underscored the affectionate bond that led her to refer to Kazehana as "big sis." Overindulged, Matsu retreated to her room, a decision that would likely result in a morning of regrets and headaches.
Chiho, seeking comfort and closeness, chose Minato's lap as her refuge, clinging to him since Tsukiumi's collapse. This simple yet profound gesture spoke volumes of their connection amidst the chaotic tapestry of the evening's events.
"Neh, Minato. Hiccup. I have never… I have never…" Chiho slurred, struggling to find her words, while Minato sighed, glancing at Takehito, who couldn't help but grin at the scene.
Despite the slight disruption, Minato took it in stride, far preferring this scenario over any potential confrontation with Miya. He resolved to wait it out.
"I have… hiccup… never… hic… gotten… hiccup… the chance of… hic… saying thank you." Chiho's attempt to express her gratitude was hindered by her hiccups, dragging out her confession much longer than necessary. With the party winding down, Minato figured patience was his best approach.
"You're welcome, Chiho," he responded, his sincerity not lost amidst the evening's disarray.
"I have never… hic.. never gotten… have never thought… hic. it would work… hic… to get me… Uzume and me… hiccup out of there," she continued, her words interspersed with pauses for hiccups, revealing her astonishment at their escape.
"Well, we did. And now, young lady, it is time for bed," Minato declared, rising to his feet. He exchanged understanding glances with Miya and Takehito, who nodded in agreement. It was time to usher the drunk to their rest and tackle the aftermath of the celebration.
Lifting Chiho into his arms, Minato was reminded of her fragility, a stark contrast to the strength she and Uzume had shown in forging their relationship, especially after Chiho's battle with an illness that had nearly claimed her life. Despite his initial underestimation, it was clear their bond had only grown stronger.
As Chiho wrapped her arms around Minato's head, she pressed her lips to his, initiating a bold kiss in which she shoved her tongue down Minato's throat, which left Miya speechless and prompted Takehito to burst into uncontrollable laughter. Homura, witnessing the scene, could only blush at the intimate exchange.
This unexpected turn of events stirred the rest of the group, rousing those who had fallen into a drunken slumber. The newly awakened, though still inebriated, looked on with varying degrees of surprise and amusement.
Tsukiumi's jaw dropped in shock, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment, while Kazehana and Musubi uttered "aaah," not out of fright but finding the moment endearing.
Matsu, thoroughly entertained, cackled with delight at the unfolding drama.
Amidst the reactions, Uzume's stood out. There was no sense of betrayal in her gaze; instead, a flicker of jealousy seemed to surface. Decisively, she stood, gently pushed Minato down—Chiho still in his embrace—and confronted her tangled feelings.
"Chiho. You are not fair," she declared, then without hesitation, she too shared a kiss with Minato.
Takehito's laughter grew louder, overshadowing Matsu's cackles, as Musubi and Kazehana smiled warmly at the scene. Kazehana mused on the irony. Chiho had indeed winged Uzume, yet here they were, both drawn to the same man who had proven more than worthy of their affections.
Tsukiumi, on the brink of outrage, managed to contain her fury. She had learned from past mistakes and was determined not to let her temper flare over this incident.
She had learned from her mistakes.
The atmosphere shifted from hilarity to astonishment as Uzume's back began to illuminate. The Sekirei symbol at the nape of her neck glowed intensely, heralding an unforeseen event.
Chiho's expression mirrored her internal shock; this development was entirely unexpected. Her bond with Uzume, usually clear and robust, felt amplified, and intriguingly, there seemed to be an additional presence, equally potent, intertwined with theirs.
As Uzume released Minato, a second circle formed around her Sekirei crest, signaling something profound. She turned to Chiho, equally bewildered.
"What just happened?" Chiho's voice was tinged with surprise rather than distress. A wave of euphoria enveloped her, a sentiment shared by Uzume and Minato.
"Beats me," Uzume murmured, her cheeks flushed with a blush, yet a smile unfading from her lips.
"I have no clue either," Minato admitted, recognizing the familiar sensation of winging a Sekirei, yet this time it was intensified, different.
"I have," Takehito interjected, his voice cutting through the confusion with a gravity that commanded attention. "You three just experienced something unprecedented."
The room fell into a hushed anticipation, hanging on his following words.
"Uzume. Minato has just winged you. Congratulations are in order. You are the first Sekirei to be winged by two different Ashikabi."
The silence was shattered by a loud. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH".
"What dost thou mean, winged? How can my Ashikabi wing a Sekirei already winged by another, no less?" Uzume's voice carried a mix of confusion and disbelief.
"I think I lost it," Musubi admitted, her tone revealing her astonishment.
Kazehana, ever the optimist, chimed in with a smile. "So, the power of love proves once again." She was visibly pleased, seeing this as an opportunity to deepen her rivalry with Uzume.
Matsu, ever the scientist, was already thinking ahead. "I think we need more experimentation. Kuhuhuh. Follow me to my lab, and—" Miya's stern interjection abruptly silenced her.
"Illicit sexual relationships are strictly forbidden in Maison Izumo. And perhaps, Uzume-san and Sahashi-san, you could explain this phenomenon?" Miya's warning, underscored by her fearsome glare, shivered through the crowd.
Takehito, seizing the moment of silence, offered a theory. "At MBI, we've amassed considerable knowledge about the Sekirei, yet much remains beyond our grasp. For instance, we know that winging can occur between a Sekirei and an Ashikabi, including forced winging and instances where an Ashikabi attracts multiple Sekirei. Our hypothesis—that more than one Ashikabi could wing a Sekirei—lacked empirical evidence until now."
"How is that possible?" Minato asked.
"For this to occur, three conditions must be met: First, the Sekirei must harbor strong feelings for both Ashikabi. Second, each Ashikabi must feel a strong connection to the Sekirei. Lastly, there must be a mutual strong affection between the Ashikabi themselves. This was the theory, and it appears to have been confirmed tonight. It seems we have much more to study," Takehito concluded, his smile betraying a hint of madness typical of MBI researchers.
Absorbing the gravity of Takehito's explanation, Minato suddenly understood why his mother had taken up smoking.
"So, how does this all work? I'm winged to both Minato and Chiho. And they share a link as well?" Uzume sought clarification, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
Takehito nodded affirmatively. "Indeed. And I understand you might feel guilty, Sahashi-san, but it begs the question: Are there any regrets?"
Minato glanced between the two girls and then back at his established flock. With conviction, he responded, "No regrets here." His words carried the weight of truth. Having been integrated into the community for some time, and with Uzume's prior residence among them, their transition from friends to something more felt natural.
"Chiho-chan?" Takehito turned his inquiry to her. The honey-blond shook her head, reflecting on her happiness with Uzume's presence and the care she received. Now, living at the Inn with Minato Sahashi, she was part of a family that had become her true home. "I have to agree with Minato-san. No regrets. I'm actually happy," she affirmed, her smile infectious.
"Uzume-chan?" Her gaze fell on her Ashikabi, and without hesitation, she embraced them, one arm for each, drawing them close. "I think that I was pleased. Thank you, both of you." After sharing a meaningful look with Minato and releasing him, Uzume lifted Chiho into her arms, sealing their bond with a kiss. As her wings unfurled, she repeated her Norito, "By the veil of my contract, my Ashikabi's nightmares will be dispelled!" Their hug was a testament to their mutual gratitude and hope for the future.
"Thank you, Uzume. Now, we can think about our future," Chiho said as she was gently set down. The moment was soon followed by the other Sekirei seizing the opportunity for affection, enveloping Minato in a group hug with Chiho and Uzume.
Miya and Takehito observed the scene, smiles gracing their faces. It was evident that the lives of everyone involved were poised for a brighter, shared future.
Line break
Reflecting on the transformative experiences of the night before, Chiho found solace in the warm embrace of the morning sun, seated comfortably next to Uzume, her presence a constant comfort.
With Minato off to school, a sense of tranquility enveloped them, a stark contrast to the bustling life of academia that Chiho had left behind years ago.
The thought was bittersweet, acknowledging a future she once believed was beyond her reach, now unfurling with possibilities that intertwined with Uzume's.
What lay ahead for them was the looming question that danced on the edge of their serene morning.
Their lives had irrevocably changed; their connection with Minato had deepened, transcending conventional boundaries to a realm where shame lost its grip, leaving only the purity of their bond.
Chiho, once confined to the sterile walls of a hospital, now reveled in the thought of a shared life with the Sekirei, finding joy in the complexity and warmth of their collective existence.
The intimacy of their connection was evident in the simple acts of affection, like Uzume's fingers playfully tickling Chiho's belly, sparking laughter and lightness between them.
In these moments of quiet joy and contemplation, the weight of their past struggles seemed to lift, allowing them to bask in the comfort and promise of the life they were building together.
Their journey, marked by trials and triumphs, had brought them to this place of understanding and acceptance, where the uncertain future was ripe with the potential for happiness and fulfillment.
As they sat together, enveloped in the gentle warmth of the sun, the silent bond they shared spoke volumes of the love and resilience that had guided them to this moment of peace.
The hands of Uzume had begun to tickle her belly.
Chiho's playful objection to Uzume's teasing hint of a burgeoning hope elicited a light-hearted sigh from Uzume. "I think it is too early to hope for a feeling there, Uzume." Despite the jest, Chiho's eye-roll was a sign of affection rather than annoyance.
"Really? Maybe you have been putting on weight. Where is the frail girl going that I fell in love with?" Uzume's words were teasing, sparking a mock, indignant response from Chiho.
"I think you wouldn't mind. I'm not getting fat. We're having enough exercise for that, Uzume. Besides, I think I'll need a stronger body if we have a baby. Although, I'm sad that you wouldn't be the one to carry it."
"That's biologically impossible even for us. And let's be real. If you wanted to have a baby, Chiho-baby, I don't think there are good options out there." Kazehana's light and sober voice joined the conversation, earning her a glare from Chiho that was more cute than intimidating.
"Big Sis," Uzume greeted Kazehana warmly as she approached, acknowledging the unique bond and motherly presence Kazehana brought into their lives, contrasting with Uzume's playful demeanor.
"Why does everyone call me Chiho-baby? I'm not that young," Chiho protested, only to be gently restrained by Uzume's comforting hold.
"Because, among us, you are the youngest. As the elders, it's our privilege and delight to tease the younger one," Uzume explained, her tone light and teasing.
"I'm not the youngest. Kusano is, in case you forgot." Chiho's retort brought a smile to Kazehana's lips.
"Yes, but teasing Ku-chan would invoke the wrath of a terrifying demon. Besides, it's just Uzume, me, and Matsu who call you that. I haven't heard Kagari, Musubi, or Tsukiumi do so. Nor Kusano, for that matter."
The mention of Kusano prompted a collective sigh. The youngest Sekirei indeed saw them as older sisters, a role they cherished.
"Ku-chan calls me a big sister, just as she does with all of you. And can you tell me why the others don't do it?" Chiho's inquiry, mingled with the warmth of their shared connection, highlighted the unique dynamics within their extended family, each interaction woven with affection, teasing, and a deep sense of belonging.
Their conversation, brimming with affectionate banter and genuine curiosity, underscored the strength of their bonds, a testament to the unconventional yet profound family they had formed together.
The dynamic within their group, marked by a blend of deep emotional bonds and shared experiences, was evident as they navigated the complexities of their relationships with humor and honesty.
"Musubi might do it when we trick her into doing it. Kagari, because she's not so forward with that. After all, we can all say that she's the only one who hasn't gone with us to fourth base," they acknowledged, a blush coloring their cheeks at the admission of their intimate escapades.
They had gotten hooked on group sex.
"Tsukiumi, because she has her old-fashioned speech. And there you have it. I think we can assume things went well for us. So, we don't have to worry about more things. We can safely say that having his kids would be a great experience. Don't you agree?" Kazehana concluded her words by reflecting a sense of contentment and anticipation for the future.
The affirmation of their shared journey and the possibilities ahead prompted an affectionate exchange between Chiho and Uzume, their kiss a silent testament to their happiness and the strength of their bond.
"There's just one thing stuck in my head," Uzume confessed, her concern palpable in the ensuing silence. The tension in her grip and the worry lines on her face did not go unnoticed by Chiho and Kazehana.
"I suppose we must wait until our husband is done with Ichika Orimura, right?" Uzume's words, heavy with resignation, echoed the group's sentiments.
"I guess so, yes. It looks like our dear stupid boy wants to do that. Going on to the rescue," Kazehana sighed, sharing in the frustration. The hope had been for a shift towards building their future together, especially now that Musubi was back.
The collective decision to wait for Musubi to return before advancing their relationship with Minato spoke to their deep respect for one another and their desire to ensure everyone was included in their significant moments.
Now reunited, they wasted no time deepening their connections, embracing the joy and unity that defined their unconventional family.
Their candid discussions and shared dreams highlighted the complexities of their lives, intertwined with love, challenges, and the hopeful anticipation of what the future might hold.
Expecting a significant change can make seventy-two hours feel like an eternity, especially when the future promises something as transformative as the path they were contemplating.
"If he didn't do that, you realize we wouldn't be here? Do you want to miss out on that?" Chiho's words cut through the tension, a reminder of the serendipitous events that brought them together. Kazehana's playful gesture of squeezing Chiho's cheeks only elicited a slap away from Uzume, who couldn't help but glare at her elder with mock indignation.
"Cut it out, Kazehana. Only I am allowed to do that," Uzume's playful protest underscored their comfortable rapport.
"No, you're not. Only Minato is," Kazehana countered, sparking a light-hearted debate over who had the right to such familiar gestures.
"But he would never do that," Uzume mused, a smile playing at the edges of her lips.
"Which is the reason why I would only allow him. But even so, I suppose we will have kids around the same time if we have kids. So, let's look for a place to stay. Because I don't think Asama-san will have much patience with kids."
The reality of their situation settled over them, a shared understanding that finding a suitable home for their growing family would be no small feat.
They sighed collectively, the task's weight ahead not lost on them. Finding a place accommodating their unique family and children's laughter would require time and patience. Yet, the knowledge that they had to wait for their "idiot husband" to resolve his current predicament meant their plans and dreams were on hold.
But as they knew too well, their journey together was a testament to patience and resilience. Whatever the future held, they were ready to face it together, navigating the challenges with the same strength and unity that had brought them this far.
Navigating the prospect of pregnancy, especially with the added complexity of their unique situation, was a subject that required careful consideration.
Chiho, with her thoughtful nature, couldn't help but worry about the dynamics that would unfold with Minato, particularly under the influence of the myriad movies Matsu had enthusiastically introduced them to. Often dramatic and exaggerated, these films did little to ease her concerns about the future.
Chiho's preference for overseas detective shows, a pastime cultivated during her extended hospital stays, offered her a welcome escape from reality.
The simplicity and problem-solving in these shows starkly contrasted the complexities of her own life. The gift of an old laptop from Minato, though no longer of use to him, became a cherished portal to these stories for Chiho, enriching her days at the Inn with tales of intrigue and deduction.
The thought of seven pregnancies co-occurring was daunting. The idea of six superpowered aliens, alongside herself, navigating the hormonal tides of pregnancy could challenge Minato's well-being, especially if their conception timelines aligned closely.
These musings were abruptly interrupted by Minato's arrival. "I'm home," his familiar and comforting voice dispelled the cloud of daydreams that had enveloped them.
Minato's homecoming was met with a cascade of affection from his Sekirei, each moment a testament to their relationships and the collective bond they shared with their Ashikabi.
The group, momentarily lost in their thoughts, rushed to the hallway, eager to greet him. After returning from his studies at Todai, Minato appeared weary, a testament to the demands of his academic pursuits. The sight of the smallest among them leaping to share a kiss with him was a poignant reminder of the deep bonds and affection that united them all.
"Good to see you back, big brother." Kusano purred; for some reason, the girls wondered if it was because of their influence.
With her unmistakable eagerness and strong embrace, Musubi was the first to claim her moment with Minato after the youngest had her turn, her grip signaling a clear possession over her time with him, leaving no room for doubt that she cherished these reunions deeply.
Tsukiumi was next, adorned in a maid outfit crafted by Uzume's skilled hands. The attention to detail and fit of the clothing highlighted Uzume's talent, especially given the unique physical attributes of their group. Tsukiumi's kiss was tender, a chaste affirmation of her feelings, pulling herself close to Minato in a moment of quiet intimacy.
Matsu approached Minato with a different intent, her kisses more exploratory, a silent acknowledgment of the experiments and experiences she had yet to catch up on. Her actions spoke of a desire to deepen their connection, to make up for lost time in her unique way.
Gracefully stepping aside with Takehito, Miya allowed the younger Sekirei their moments with Minato. This understanding between them acknowledges the need for personal space and expression within their complex family dynamics.
Kazehana's approach was marked by a lingering kiss, her affection enveloping Minato in warmth. The necessity for air was the only thing that could pull them apart, highlighting the intensity of their connection.
Chiho, seizing her chance, leaped into Minato's arms. Her physical stature might have been more diminutive, lacking the dramatic flair of wings unfolding. Still, her blush was a vivid expression of her emotions, a silent communication of her feelings.
Uzume, embracing her role as both a Sekirei and a partner in this intricate web of relationships, offered Minato a kiss that was both a greeting and a declaration. The appearance of her wings, a physical manifestation of her bond, was a moment of vulnerability and strength intertwined.
Kagari's absence from this welcome ritual was noted but understood; her emotions were complex, a mix of jealousy and embarrassment that made such public displays challenging.
Minato's detour to visit Jin, a storehouse worker living within his territory, underscores the protective and responsible nature of Minato's character. By ensuring Jin's proper treatment of Yashima and providing a means to alleviate the financial burden through an MBI VIP card, Minato demonstrates his commitment to the well-being of those connected to him. Jin's reaction to the number of Sekirei under Minato's care, coupled with his empathy, adds a layer of camaraderie and mutual understanding between the two men.
Yashima's role in managing the household while Jin works highlights the traditional dynamics often found within relationships, yet it's clear that these roles are respected and valued by both parties.
Despite Jin's reservations about his qualifications, Minato's offer to Jin for a potential job at MBI further illustrates Minato's generous nature and desire to support those he considers friends.
The dynamics within Minato's household, particularly during dinner and the subsequent private moments with Musubi in the garden, reveal the complexity of managing relationships with multiple Sekirei.
Matsu's restraint from embarrassing Minato due to Miya's presence and Musubi's initiative to spend quiet time with Minato highlight the nuanced interactions and the balance of power and affection within the household.
The shared dream sequence, reflecting on Musubi's return to Earth and the Sekirei's collective decision to encourage Minato to take her on a date, underscores the group's deep bonds and shared history.
This initiative, aimed at fostering a deeper connection between Minato and Musubi, signifies the Sekirei's mutual respect for their relationships with Minato and their collective desire for his happiness.
Through these vignettes, the narrative weaves together themes of responsibility, care, friendship, and the complexities of love within a non-traditional family structure. Each moment, whether a gesture of support to a friend or a quiet evening with a loved one, contributes to the rich tapestry of their intertwined lives, showcasing the challenges and joys of their unique situation.
The Sekirei's decision to encourage Minato and Musubi to spend a night at a love hotel reveals a significant transition in their relationships.
This plan aimed to deepen the bond between Minato and his first Sekirei, Musubi. The candid nature of their conversation, devoid of subtlety, indicates a level of comfort and openness established over time, marking a pivotal moment in their collective journey.
The decision to wait for a year before encouraging this step reflects a thoughtful consideration of the emotional and physical readiness of both Minato and Musubi.
Drawing straws to determine the order in which the Sekirei would subsequently connect with Minato sexually highlights the blend of competition and cooperation that defines their unique family structure.
This method of decision-making, while seemingly arbitrary, represents an attempt to maintain fairness and balance within their group, acknowledging each Sekirei's desires while striving to preserve harmony.
After a period of separation, Minato and Musubi's reunion was marked by an evening of indulgence and connection at one of the city's most luxurious yet welcoming restaurants. The choice of venue, renowned for its hearty portions and Western cuisine, catered perfectly to their appetites and the celebratory nature of their meeting. Musubi's eagerness to savor the steak, a dish she had longed for while away, and Minato's anticipation for the ribs, influenced by his global friendships, added a layer of excitement and novelty to their dinner.
The restaurant staff, initially taken aback by Musubi's request for a second serving, quickly adapted to the extraordinary appetite of a Sekirei. However, they cautiously hoped it wouldn't extend to a fourth.
Musubi's capacity for dessert further showcased her remarkable appetite, underscoring the unique characteristics of Sekirei that Minato had become accustomed to accommodating.
Their evening was continued at one of the city's most opulent hotels, a stark contrast to the cold, harsh exterior of the town.
The luxurious setting, with its comfortable beds, plush carpets, and elegant lighting, provided a warm and intimate backdrop for the continuation of their reunion.
The presence of a singular large bed highlighted the personal and private nature of their stay, setting the stage for moments of closeness and reflection.
This carefully chosen setting, from the restaurant to the hotel, reflects Minato's feelings for Musubi and his desire to make their reunion memorable. It speaks to the journey they have embarked upon together, navigating the complexities of their bond amid the broader challenges posed by the Sekirei Plan.
The evening was not just a celebration of their reunion but a reaffirmation of their commitment to each other, underscored by the luxury and care with which Minato planned their time together.
Minato crawled into the bed and crossed his legs. Musubi dropped in it, and she began kissing the life out of him.
When her mouth let him go, she found him pulling her back to his. He didn't want to let her go. He tried to keep her with him. Close.
And never letting go.
"You waited for me all this time." She said, and she wasn't sure if Yume or Musubi was talking.
"I did. And I would wait a lifetime longer for you. But you came back. And a year. How short is that in life?" He answered his first Sekirei.
"I'm happy you waited for me."
"Words can't express how happy I am that you came back." They were in silence. Yet words weren't spoken by mouth.
The eyes spoke. 'Musubi-chan. You know what I want?'
'Yes. And I can't thank the others enough for waiting till I returned.'
No more words were spoken in any other way.
His arms were wrapped around her. Her body was trained and formed, yet soft to the touch. He pressed on her backside, and he pulled her closer to him.
He wasn't letting her go.
Not that she was. Her arms were around his thick hair. Yet, despite his actions, he wasn't rough. He was with the same kindness she had known him for.
Their mouths missed their lips as both of them licked their faces, necks, and torso. Minato began to strip out of the clothes in the way.
She took the clothes off, and he helped her when she pulled them out of his shirt. On the other hand, he didn't have problems with the Miko part of her outfit.
No matter how much he looked at her, those breasts were the biggest he had ever seen. He touched those breasts and caressed her.
He had never been too sure about everything, but now, he wanted her more than everything else. Kissing on her throat, he began to lean down. He was kissing, licking, sucking on those breasts. There was so much he could do with those.
Musubi was touching his body as well. Her hands had found his body and pressed on how his body came to be stronger and better than she thought. They just stayed like that for a bit, their foreheads pressing together. Their eyes made it clear.
Now or never.
Minato began to remove his trousers while Musubi started to strip down. Both touched each other and weren't sure if it was all good.
The two had too much lust to care about any eventual mistakes. It would be a bother to think about.
When Musubi touched him, she was impressed. Matsu was right. He was better than average. She began to wonder about something, and Minato felt her kissing his dick. When she felt his body tensing, she looked at him.
The bangs hid his eyes, but he nodded at her. 'Please continue.' She did as she began to kiss the penis of her Ashikabi. Minato had to lie down and close his eyes.
His fists clenched on the bed as she kissed and licked it. Without knowing his own hands, those went to her breasts.
He had only noticed that she had begun to wrap them around his member. Pressing those melons closer, Minato's eyes rolled back at the end of his head as he felt the pressure. It didn't take too long before his release found its way.
Musubi let him go, and she beamed at him. She seemed happy with the job well done. Minato didn't wait till she was tackled to the bed.
Finding his way to her core, he didn't know what to do precisely, but there was something. So, he did the thing that came closest to mind.
Musubi moaned long as the Ashikabi returned her the favor. Her hands were in his hair as Minato went for the things in her legs. He had never minded too much, as he just wanted to keep licking her.
He only stopped to tell Musubi that her legs had crushed him. So when those went to lay beside her body, he returned to his work. Musubi could feel the tension building up in her body. Now, she understood parts of love unknown to her.
Her mind didn't go anywhere else as the sensations were too intense. A ball of pleasure came out, and Minato felt her release on him.
When her body relaxed, he did as well, and he pulled her up.
Their lips clashed, and in the position they began, both their bodies ready for attention.
Musubi nodded and lowered herself on him.
She was used to pain as a fighter, but not like this. Still, she waited until she was sure Minato could allow her to do what she wanted for so long.
Her core, or at least a different one, was returning to his length and girth. There was nothing she could complain about it.
Neither did he. Their hips rocked and bumped until they found a rhythm they could settle for.
The Bear Sekirei was the last standing, but her Ashikabi slew her. Her breasts would bounce up and down if he didn't hold her so close. Their bodies didn't clash but were one grand harmony.
Minato had been a nice guy in his life, so he waited until he was sure that Musubi had reached her climax. She did, and the signals were all too clear. She bit on his neck softly. He let his release go.
It hadn't been all great, but neither had a reason to complain. The plus outnumbered the minus. When he was sure, he pulled out of her.
"So. How was it?" Musubi asked. Minato's kiss was the only answer she needed.
"Amazing. Musubi, can I ever tell you how happy I was when you got into my life?"
She smiled and kissed him again.
"And the same goes for me. Still, I am happy that you and I had our experience. Is this love?"
"You can be sure about it." Pulling her closer, they weren't going anywhere anytime soon. She kissed him and smiled.
"I know of the others. Minato. You waited for me. And I can't be happier you did. But you know the others."
"You talked with them."
"Indeed. I wanted this despite not knowing it. We both got our first time. The others felt they owed it to me. But in return, you'll need to do it with them." He hadn't been too bothered by those words.
"That was kind of them. And don't worry, I will do as you ask. But now, Musubi, want to go again?"
Stamina surprised Musubi as they spent half the night making love and the other half sleeping. It had been past noon before they got back.
They didn't ignore the others as they returned, but both had such smiles that they were drunk on the love they had experienced. It hadn't taken too long before Minato was off again.
The other Sekirei didn't waste too much time getting their Ashikabi to a bed. Miya had allowed them to have their illicit sexual relationships elsewhere. And with the whole mess over, they could use it.
On the nights after the events, Matsu, Tsukiumi, Kazehana, and Homura took their Ashikabi out for one long night. They had come back later. All of them beaming. Minato, for some reason, was not wrung out at all.
Miya sighed as her husband found Minato in bed after the sixth night. They had taken their toll, and now, he was ready to sleep it off.
The Sekirei would wait now this was all over. Nights of passion were still typical but wouldn't occur much at once.
It would be only later a sixth and seventh member joined. The only good thing for Minato was that with Chiho, they had to keep lovemaking down to a human level.
Line break
The next evening, Minato had started by looking over his email. There had been worry as he read through the message of Ichika.
Kusano had been seated in his lap. Her eyes drooped over the screen, yet she fought to stay awake until it was official bedtime.
So she could read along the lines of what Ichika had to say.
Hey Minato.
Things aren't exactly great if they could be great, to begin with.
I now have a third problem on my hands. Namely Lingyin Huang or Rin, I call to her. She was in middle school and helped me out when Houki was gone.
You haven't met her, but she is a lot like Houki. Or like Yukari, although with much more energy and a bit unhinged, if you catch my drift.
The saving grace is that she is not in my class. I already have enough to deal with Houki. And for some reason, Cecilia is also after me.
I don't have a good idea of why she is now interested in me.
Minato's reflections on his complex relationships with the Sekirei, particularly Tsukiumi's initial hostility towards him before accepting him as her Ashikabi, underscore the multifaceted dynamics inherent in the Sekirei Plan. Tsukiumi's journey from wanting to kill Minato to acknowledging him as her Ashikabi highlights the transformative potential of their connections, challenging their preconceived notions and leading to unexpected alliances and affections.
The mention of Cecilia Alcott introduces a contrast to the Sekirei dynamics, suggesting a different context where themes of rivalry and attraction play out.
Not being a Sekirei, Cecilia operates under different motivations and cultural influences, including her notions of female supremacy.
Her interest in Ichika, despite the distinct differences from Sekirei bonds, suggests that the complexities of attraction and relationships transcend the unique circumstances of the Sekirei Plan, reflecting broader themes of desire, competition, and the quest for connection in various settings.
Rin and I had lunch, which was interrupted by those two, and we had a bit of wording. I hope you are not angry with me if I called your name in that.
Dismissing any threat to him with the help of his girls, Minato didn't blame Ichika. The younger man was in a position that was rough on anyone.
And he pondered about what anyone could do. He was safe here; MBI would employ him later on, and Miya would protect him as long he was here. So, there was nothing wrong with the information.
I'm going to have to call your help Rin's IS. And I'm afraid I will need more help as I think I'll have more problems with those girls around me.
We will have an Interclass IS tournament where I have to fight against Rin, which isn't great as I don't have anything on her IS.
Also, I'm just wondering. What sort of idiot throws away her entire life and goes out on a limp to get over to school? That's what she did.
I have no idea how she did it, and I don't want to know. Just some help on her. Last night, you could choose Houki, and Cecilia were done training me or mauling me. Rin barged into my room and said she wanted to switch rooms with me.
That didn't go very well, and we're a few days before we are in this fight, and I can use your help. And a bit of information on how to deal with her.
Rin has been in this school for just a week and nearly killed me several times, almost destroyed my classroom and my bedroom, and for some reason, she seems angry with me.
If you need some information, it's not too different from Houki. Helped her with bullies at school and hung out with her.
I also ate at her place when Chifuyu was out to become a pilot.
So any help, man, I can really use about anything. I'm at my wit's end here.
Minato's contemplation of Ichika's situation and the interactions within his own Sekirei family highlight the contrasts in relationships and understanding of affection and respect. The youngest Sekirei, Kusano, brings a unique perspective to the conversation, expressing confusion and concern over how Ichika is treated.
Her innocence and sense of justice prompt Minato to engage her in a thoughtful discussion, valuing her insights despite her young appearance.
"Mou, what is wrong with that mean lady? Shouldn't she treat that Ichika boy like a good person? Ku is wondering if she even likes him."
Kusano's pout and genuine perplexity over the dynamics she observes reflect a broader discomfort with the treatment of individuals in their respective narratives. Minato's acknowledgment of her feelings underscores the Sekirei's capacity for empathy and their deep concern for fairness and kindness in relationships, contrasting with the harsher realities they observe.
"You're right, Ku-chan, but what do you think about this?" Minato's question to Kusano, treating her as a mature individual capable of insightful opinions, emphasizes the Sekirei's accelerated growth and understanding, transcending their physical age or appearance. Kusano's comparison of the "mean lady" to Tsukiumi's initial behavior towards Minato suggests her ability to draw parallels and understand complex emotional dynamics, indicating her advanced comprehension and emotional intelligence.
"I am not sure, but from what I read, she acts a lot like Big Sis Tsukiumi before she calms down. I think this Rin person is jealous. And she is acting that out on Ichika. Without thinking over the consequences. A bit like a child."
Kusano's analysis reflects a nuanced understanding of jealousy and its manifestations, likening it to childish behavior and highlighting the importance of considering the consequences of one's actions.
"He should do what Big Brother does. Trying to love everyone." Kusano's advice to Minato about what he should tell Ichika encapsulates Sekirei's ethos of love and acceptance, suggesting that embracing love as a guiding principle can overcome challenges and misunderstandings in relationships.
Though simple, this advice speaks to the core values Minato and his Sekirei shared, advocating for compassion and understanding as fundamental to navigating complex interpersonal dynamics.
As Minato carries a sleepy Kusano to rest, the moment serves as a poignant reminder of the familial bonds and shared values that unite them, offering a gentle contrast to the conflicts and misunderstandings observed in other narratives.
Hey, Ichika.
You really can't catch a break, now can you? No joke. With that, Rin looks like she could be jealous. Maybe that is one thing. That girl has some issues.
The question is how you can attract so many girls. I wonder how you would be as an Ashikabi. I'm just wondering about it.
That might have gone bad with my name out there, but don't worry about it. Perhaps if they know you have me as your buddy, that might be biting for them. I don't see how they can hurt me but for you. Good luck, man.
I'll be sure to look up your opponent's Infinite Stratos. But with Matsu, I will have a hard time paying her back. That girl has a perverted mind, and it shows in the lovemaking. I already had to pay her back with how much I had to look up that other girl, Cecilia.
Kusano guessed that Rin is jealous of you being friends with Houki and Cecilia. Even if that term is not correct, there is no other way I can describe it.
She says she acted like Tsukiumi before she calmed down. I think she is right on that.
You shook her worldviews, and that caused her to look up to new things in your case. It might be a significant pain to think about, but you have caused her to rethink.
Now, with Tsukiumi, she had heard ridiculous stuff about all she had to do when she had an Ashikabi.
Looking back at it, she has done the things she was told (not all of them, if I can be honest), but things calmed down later. In any case, good night, pal.
Minato's weariness is a testament to the demands of his multifaceted life, balancing academic responsibilities, the search for a new living space, the emotional needs of his Sekirei, and assisting Ichika. His role as a caregiver, student, partner, and friend stretches his limits, yet it's clear that he derives a profound sense of fulfillment from these relationships and responsibilities.
The anticipation of Sekirei's inevitable nightly migration to his room speaks to their deep bond and comfort.
This nightly ritual, where they seek closeness and warmth in his presence, underscores their connections' intimate and familial nature. It's a quiet moment of solace for Minato, a reminder of the love and support that surrounds him, offering a counterbalance to the day's challenges and stresses.
Minato's current disinterest in sex, driven by physical exhaustion and the shared fatigue of his Sekirei, highlights the complexity of their relationships.
Their bond is especially poignant, reflecting a maturity and understanding that transcends physical needs, emphasizing the importance of emotional intimacy and the non-verbal communication of care and affection through presence and touch.
Line break. The next morning
Waking up to Kazehana's passionate kiss was a vivid start to Minato's morning, her wings unfurling in a display of affection that heralded the awakening of the rest of the flock. A flurry of kisses and wings came out of the room.
Their morning routine was quickly interrupted by Takehito's presence, his light-hearted inquiry about their nighttime activities filling the room with a mix of tension and relief when he confirmed the cleanliness of the air.
"Good morning, you all. I hope you didn't have sex here," Takehito's words, accompanied by a sniff of the air, brought a moment of comic relief, ensuring that the intimate boundaries of the household remained respected. "And you didn't. Now, hurry up, as we will have breakfast soon."
"Eh, Takehito. Where is the landlady?" Minato asked.
That question led to a surprising revelation from Takehito, "The rule that no married couple can have sex here. In my case, that doesn't apply."
This comment, coupled with Takehito's grin, was a clear reminder of the unique dynamics within their household, prompting a unanimous decision never to broach that subject again.
Breakfast showcased Takehito's culinary skills, setting a warm and communal tone for the morning. However, the disheveled Miya's radiant happiness contrasting sharply with her unkempt appearance sparked a mix of amusement and curiosity among everyone—except Takehito and those who had arrived later.
Seo's habitual presence, driven by his failures and reliance on the generosity extended to Hikari and Hibiki, added another layer to the household's complex relationships.
The introduction of Hikari and Hibiki's sons, despite the confusion around their names—Raizou, Raiden, Raimei, Raigou. There is not much variety in their names there.
When Takehito and Seo began to chat, it was clear for everyone to move out. Minato trailed to Matsu's room as he had to ask for help.
"I'm wondering if our kids will be like that," Minato muttered as he looked at Matsu and her shapely body in that tight cheongsam. He couldn't help but feel his pants grow tight as he glanced at her body. Her behind was even better than she would guess.
"I don't think so, Mina-tan. Unlike that guy, you've got some decency and are a better guy overall. When we have those kids, I can't wait to teach them about my research." Minato wondered what would happen if their kid would be embarrassed by her enthusiasm.
"But before we head over there, I think you need my help with something. What do you need me to do, Mina-tan?"
The Ashikabi's expression turned serious as he looked her in the eyes.
"I need you to look up information on a new Pilot. Lingyin Huang, or Rin as Ichika calls her. From what I gather, she comes from China, and I want you to find out what techniques she uses and how we can counter them."
Matsu sighed. "This is going to be easy. All those countries like to flaunt their talents, so getting information on her won't be difficult."
And it wasn't difficult. At least, not by Matsu's standards.
Minato was sure that most humans wouldn't be capable of hacking into sites protected by the government—a formidable deterrent for anyone daring to challenge the Sekirei. And, as expected, the Wisdom Sekirei discovered information about the Infinite Stratos.
The Shenlong, developed by the Chinese Government, was designed for close-quarters combat and equipped with two significant weapons.
The first, Souten Gagetsu, appeared to Minato as a pair of Chinese scimitars that could be combined to form a double-bladed weapon.
He briefly pondered whether all these weapons were inspired by ancient pride. The second was the Ryuhou, a 'supposed' state-of-the-art Impact/Shock Cannon.
In simpler terms, it was a massive cannon mounted on the shoulders, challenging to evade at close range and capable of inflicting substantial damage. Ichika would find it challenging to dodge, and unlike Cecilia, destroying it would be even more difficult.
Minato contemplated how Ichika would manage to confront such a weapon. It didn't take long for him to devise a strategy. After leaving Matsu both intrigued and satisfied, he moved to the computer. There, he began drafting an email to Ichika, outlining a plan for how Ichika could develop a strategy of his own.
Line break. Back to the ISA.
Ichika had been diligently training on his own to avoid being outmaneuvered by the machine. Minato's ingenious plan for utilizing his Infinite Stratos was far more effective than seeking advice from Chifuyu or training with Houki or Cecilia.
Upon receiving an email from Minato, Ichika began formulating his strategy for optimally confronting Rin.
Soon, the Inter-Class Tournament commenced.
Standing ready in her Infinite Stratos, Rin exuded confidence, convinced of her victory.
"Oh, you look confident," Ichika remarked nonchalantly at Rin's remark, poised for the battle and determined to prove any detractors wrong. He felt prepared to face Rin without significant hurdles.
"Well, I got some help," he informed Rin, who responded with a confident smirk.
"The contestants may proceed," announced Yamada's voice throughout the arena.
Ichika exchanged nods with Rin, who then unleashed her cannon. The bullets and trajectory were invisible, prompting Ichika to adopt evasive yet unpredictable maneuvers.
This strategy proved effective, leaving Rin puzzled by his movements.
"I can't see your cannon but must dodge wherever you aim. That makes my job easier," Ichika boasted, now sure that Rin would target him directly with her cannons.
In the control room
"How is he doing that?" Chifuyu marveled, her eyes fixed on the unfolding battle.
"The Shenlong's impact cannon is a third-generation weapon. It concentrates atmospheric particles into a solid projectile. But what strategy is Orimura employing?"
Maya pondered aloud, scrutinizing the specifications displayed before her. From their perspective, Ichika seamlessly navigated the challenge.
"A third-generation weapon akin to my Blue Tears. Yet, he seems unfazed by it."
"Will Ichika be okay? I mean, he's just avoiding the attacks. But why?" Houki expressed her concern, seeking understanding amidst the tension.
"Do you need to ask, Shinonono?" came the retort, tinged with a hint of rhetorical admonishment.
In their analysis, Ichika's movements were initially perceived as unpredictable, spontaneous reactions to an onslaught of invisible threats. However, beneath the apparent randomness, a discernible pattern emerged—visible only to Ichika, a testament to his strategic insight and adaptability in the heat of battle.
In the Izumo Inn
Minato and the others were engrossed in the spectacle unfolding on the television screen.
"So this was your plan, Sahashi-san? You certainly opted for a straightforward approach."
"Simple plans are often the most effective, Miya-san," Minato replied, his strategy laid bare for all to see: get close to Rin and conclude the duel. The group observed Ichika's execution of the plan with keen interest.
"Mou. I don't get it," a small voice piped up from Minato's lap. Kusano squinted at the screen, her disapproval evident.
"Why is Ichika fighting that Rin girl? If she loves him, why doesn't she tell him?"
Minato pondered her question.
"It's not that simple, Ku-chan. In their world, they have to fight," he explained, though Kusano's pout deepened, finding the logic of Ichika and Rin's actions nonsensical.
"But they don't fight like you and the big sisters do," the eight-year-old asserted, prompting the group to tear their attention away from the screen.
"Eh, Kusano-tan. We don't fight. At least, not with Minato." Matsu answered the little girl's question.
"That's not true. You do fight when you're away. Because you always come back looking satisfied, as if you've had a good fight," she countered, her innocence illuminating the room's previously unacknowledged tension.
The remark sent eight individuals blushing furiously, with Miya unable to suppress her giggles. It was becoming increasingly clear that a severe conversation with Kusano was overdue. Scratch that; several discussions were necessary, especially regarding how Kusano had deduced Rin's feelings for Ichika.
"Like the landlady this morning. Did she have a fight with you, Takehito-san?" Kusano inquired, her simple question laden with complexity, causing Miya and Takehito to choke awkwardly.
Miya caught the shared glances between Matsu and Kazehana, realizing this moment would linger in their memories. And as she reflected on her past views, she couldn't help but think of it as karma. Meanwhile, back at the school, it was evident that the situation had escalated significantly.
In the arena
As Ichika closed the distance between him and Rin, he activated his special weapon, Reiraku Byakuya, unleashing a surge of energy that glowed menacingly in the dim light of the arena. He was moments away from engaging Rin when the barrier that enclosed them was suddenly torn apart, sending plumes of smoke billowing from his left. Ichika promptly deactivated his energy weapon and focused on the unexpected intrusion.
An alarm blared, piercing the sudden silence falling over the arena like a heavy cloak. Rin and Ichika, momentarily united by confusion and caution, peered into the smoke.
"The match is canceled! Orimura, Fang. Get the hell out of there," Chifuyu's authoritative voice echoed, her quick thinking ensuring the gates were shielded to protect the audience from the unfolding chaos. They were safe, yet immobilized, spectators to a rapidly evolving threat.
Amid the confusion, a heat signature emerged from within the smoke, indicating the presence of an unidentified entity. It was clear to Ichika that whatever had joined them bore hostile intentions, a suspicion confirmed when a laser beam targeted him and Rin.
"Rin! You need to get the hell out of here!" Ichika's warning was cut short as he noticed the laser beams locking onto her position.
Without waiting for her agreement, Ichika dashed towards Rin, his resolve firm despite her protests. "Hey, idiot. What are you doing? Let me go," she demanded, struggling in his grasp.
Her resistance made escaping exponentially more complex, their bickering adding a dangerous delay to their retreat.
"Rin. Can you stop that? Do you know how hard it is to pilot this thing with you hitting me?"
Ichika pleaded, the urgency clear in his voice as he navigated the chaotic battlefield. A beep signaled the relentless pursuit of their assailant, prompting Ichika to glance back, only to be met with the sight of their pursuer, now fully revealed in the dim arena light, charging another attack.
Ichika knew he had to make a split-second decision with no time to lose. He intensified his grip on Rin, steering them both through a maze of debris and laser fire.
Their unknown enemy was relentless, each beam a deadly dancer seeking its final pose. Amidst the chaos, Ichika's training kicked in, his movements becoming a blend of evasion and calculated risk, a dance of survival against an unseen choreographer's will.
The arena, once a stage for a controlled clash of skills, had transformed into a battleground where the rules were rewritten by the minute, and survival hinged on adaptability and the unspoken truce between two rivals forced into an uneasy alliance.
"That's gotta be an IS." The structure before them bore the unmistakable silhouette of an Infinite Stratos, yet its size and apparent autonomy marked a stark departure from the norm. Silence hung heavy as the entity stood motionless, a titan among its kind.
"Orimura. Fan. It would be best if you got out of there. The teachers and third years are ready to take care of this." Ichika scanned the vicinity, his frustration mounting. The promised support from the school's elite seemed nowhere in sight.
State-of-the-art school, his ass.
"But we have to contain it until everyone evacuates!" Ichika cursed inwardly, a reluctant sigh escaping him.
"So basically, we are sitting ducks until the rest get out of here. Great. Rin. How about we fight this thing?" Before awaiting her consent, he released her just as a beam sliced through the space they had occupied moments before.
"Rin. You're up for this!" She nodded, determination etching her features, their situation growing dire by the second. The behemoth pursued them relentlessly, its beams carving deadly arcs through the air.
Evading the monolithic death machine, Rin and Ichika gained a momentary reprieve. Rin, quick to strategize, seized the opportunity.
"Ichika. I have an idea. If you charge in, I'll cover you. You can only fight close quarters, right?" Ichika's nod was resolute.
"Fine. We can do that." Beams lanced towards them as they braced themselves, a lethal ballet of light and shadow. Rin countered her attacks with a dazzling display of defiance. Meanwhile, Ichika, shrouded in smoke and determination, charged at the mechanical titan.
The arena transformed into a war zone, with the pair weaving through a storm of energy and debris. Ichika's approach was a blur of motion, a testament to his training and resolve.
From her position, Rin unleashed a barrage designed to disrupt their adversary, her shots calculated to offer Ichika the opening he needed.
The clash escalated as the smoke thickened, obscuring friend and foe alike. The air vibrated with the energy of their confrontation, a symphony of chaos and courage. Ichika, embodying the eye of the storm, moved with a singular purpose, his every step a challenge to the imposing force before him.
In this moment, the duo epitomized the essence of teamwork, their combined strength a beacon of hope amidst the uncertainty. The battle was more than a test of skill; it was a declaration of their unwillingness to yield, a dance on the razor's edge between victory and defeat.
The battlefield lay shrouded in uncertainty and smoke, the air thick with the tension of the unknown. Ichika's realization cut through the confusion as they faced the enigmatic adversary. "Rin, I don't think we're fighting against a human."
"What are you talking about? The Infinite Stratos is a machine."
"No. That's not what I meant. I don't think that there is a human inside that thing," Ichika clarified, the gears of his mind turning with possibilities and questions destined for Minato.
"What are you talking about? An IS won't move unless someone pilots it." Rin's assertion hung in the air, even as the machine's aggression momentarily paused.
"But hey. She hasn't attacked us now. Like she only does that when we go after her." Rin's skepticism was evident, yet the connection Ichika suggested was too intriguing to dismiss outright.
"It's impossible. You can't pilot it without a pilot in it. That's just how it is." Together, they faced the mechanical behemoth, contemplating the implications of Ichika's hypothesis.
"Just humor me. What if? What is the hypothetical sense if we are fighting an unmanned unit?" As the smoke dissipated, the reality of their opponent became clearer, yet no less daunting.
"If you say that, how are we supposed to defeat that thing?"
"I think we can. After all, if we don't have to worry about a human being, why should we be held back?" Ichika's confidence sparked a glimmer of hope in Rin.
"All we got? Ichika, what are you getting at?"
"I got something. An ace up my sleeve. Reiraku Byakuya. I can use that as Yukihira's extra weapon. So I can use it. The weapon is too strong to really use all of it. But I think I can make it work. The problem is that my shield Points will be eaten away." Rin's apprehension was palpable, yet her trust in Ichika's plan was evident.
"Okay, Mr. Confident. I'll listen to you."
"You shoot at it with your canon. Don't hold back. I'll give you the signal." Rin's nod was the affirmation Ichika needed.
"You do know the shot won't connect." But Ichika was undeterred.
"That isn't a problem. Ready?" Rin's agreement was silent but firm, a shared resolve anchoring them.
They prepared for the engagement, but Rin's composure contrasted with the awaited chaos. The plan was audacious, perhaps even reckless, but the seed of victory lay within it. As Ichika moved closer, Rin steadied herself, her canon primed and her spirit unyielding.
As the tension on the battlefield reached its zenith, a familiar voice pierced through the chaos, drawing Ichika's immediate and sharp attention. He turned to find Houki, her presence both bewildering and infuriating.
"Ichika! If you're a real man, you better beat this thing!" Her words, meant to encourage, only fueled his frustration.
"Houki, I don't need you to tell me that. And what the hell are you doing here? You're putting yourself in extreme danger. Get out of here." His concern was palpable, his glare scorching.
But as the machine swiveled its deadly aim towards Houki, Ichika's protective instincts surged. Despite Rin's loaded cannon and his glare that could slice through steel, he positioned himself in her line of fire.
"Idiot. What are you doing? Get out."
"Just fire. Do it, or we are all going to die!" His command to the Chinese candidate was desperate, a roar over the din of battle. Rin caught between frustration and the situation's urgency, let loose her cannon.
The projectile hit Ichika, but rather than falter, he absorbed the impact, channeling the energy into a power surge. Internally, he berated himself for this reckless act of heroism, questioning his motives even as he accelerated towards the enemy.
At top speed, Ichika collided with the machine, his attacks relentless. The power he unleashed was monumental, his strikes severing the mechanical limbs one after another.
Amidst the fury of his assault, a line echoed in his mind, 'Johnny, I hardly knew ya,' a sad reminder of the unpredictable outcome of the battle.
The aftermath was a silence that spoke volumes, punctuated only by debris settling. Ichika lay amidst the wreckage, the adrenaline fading, leaving behind a stark realization of the cost of victory. His body bore the brunt of the explosion, a testament to his sacrifice and the thin line he walked between heroism and folly.
Line break
When consciousness returned to Ichika, he was met with the concerned gaze of Rin leaning too close for comfort. The stark white of the infirmary replaced the chaos of the arena, a silent testament to the aftermath of their battle.
"What are you doing?" His shout, louder than intended, led to an unintended collision of heads.
"I'm just worried about you. Don't take that the wrong way!" Rin protested, her concern genuine despite the awkward execution.
He recoiled slightly, confusion evident in his gaze. "So why are you here? Actually, what happened?"
"That is an excellent question." His attention shifted as a third pain he had to deal with, a reminder of Minato's words about changing world views through battle.
"But that leaves the question? What are you doing here, Huang-san?" The irritation in his voice was unmistakable, yet Rin's presence puzzled him.
"Right back at you. What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to check on my wounded classmate. And I have no idea why you are here. You shouldn't be here."
"Well, I can be here. I'm Ichika's childhood friend." Rin's declaration was met with an immediate challenge.
"Well, I am his childhood friend as well." Houki's arrival only escalated the tension.
After several minutes of growing frustration, Ichika couldn't contain himself. "Can someone now please tell me what the hell went down? And Houki. I have a question for you!" His glare intensified, his patience worn thin.
"What the hell were you thinking, idiot? You could have died or been wounded!"
"Don't yell at me, idiot!" Houki yelled back at him.
"I am the idiot who got an IS!" His retort silenced the room, a momentary victory in the ongoing battle of wills.
"And you don't have one yet, so for Pete's sake, woman. Don't put yourself in danger like that. And can now someone tell me how things went down." The room fell quiet under the weight of his words.
"It looks like you defeated that machine, but there's too much left. What little remains is up for examination." Cecilia's input finally offered some clarity amidst the confusion.
"But the explosion," Ichika asked.
"You caused too much damage for it. So it exploded. And that took you out." The reality of his actions settled in, a mixture of relief and exhaustion washing over him.
"So, in the end, it worked, huh?" The potential for further bickering loomed, only to be dispersed by the timely intervention of the nurse.
Her stern demeanor and the shake of her head left Ichika wondering if her disapproval was directed at the girls, him, or the situation.
Resigned to a night in the infirmary and immobilized by his injuries, Ichika found solace in the quiet that followed their departure.
Grateful for the respite but restless with thoughts, he reached for his cell phone. The message he began to compose was concise, a reflection of his current state, as he sought to connect with those beyond the sterile walls of the infirmary.
Hey Minato.
I'm not dead, but I have been close to it. I suppose that you know all about that. Rin and I had our match, although I don't have to tell you what invaded us.
It was some unmanned drone. At least, I guess that is what it was. I managed to destroy it, but what wasn't destroyed is up for examination. If you want to look into it, you can ask that Matsu-san of yours. You got my regards to her. I am afraid that I'll need her help soon.
The girls have been fighting over me, and with Rin, it looks like things are not calming down.
In any case, sorry to have you worried.
I'll be sure to send more messages soon.
In Shinto Teito
For Minato, the night it was had been filled with restless thoughts despite the comfort of being surrounded by the affectionate embrace of his Sekirei, serving as a somewhat unconventional pillow that allowed him to drift into sleep. Yet, the tranquility of slumber couldn't shield him from the unease that permeated his dreams.
Upon receiving an update on Ichika, his relief was palpable, a brief respite in the storm of worry brewing within him.
Matsu, ever the diligent one, had been tasked with a mission that Minato could only sympathize with. The predicament Ichika had found himself in—a veritable circus of danger and emotional turmoil—elicited a sense of pity from Minato, not just for Ichika but for himself as well.
The aftermath of the ordeal meant Minato would have to navigate a delicate balance with his own Sekirei. This task might come at a significant cost to him both emotionally and strategically.
As he mulled over these thoughts, he turned to Kusano, seeking her insight again, particularly regarding Rin. Kusano's perspective was insightful; Rin harbored feelings for Ichika, feelings she could not confess.
This revelation struck Minato as peculiar, considering the straightforward nature of his own Sekirei when it came to matters of the heart.
The contrast between Rin's hesitance and the "big sisters" openness in his own life underscored the complexity of human emotions and relationships.
For Minato, these reflections were not just contemplations of others' affairs but a mirror reflecting the depth and diversity of his entanglements with the Sekirei. As dawn crept through the curtains, Minato was left to ponder the intricate dance of love and confession, a dance as delicate as it was profound, played out in the silent musings of a restless night.
This was another rewrite. It turned out well, and the word count has been decent. It's funny to go back and look at them years later.
But it is also weird that I use this AI to go over it and utilize it to redo those chapters.
I had hoped I could have done more, but we are not even halfway through.
There has to be a delay on them. Ah, well. Let's continue on it.
Saluut.
