Chapter 1: The Moonshot Museum
One chilly 4th Saturday of March 2024, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri along with some of my other best friends Carly Shay and Spencer Puckett, as well as Carly's stepdad, Freddie Benson, at the Moonshot Museum for a tour. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. While jamming out to Kate Bush, Sarah, James, Henri, and I composed a Childhood Chat in which Allison Brawner discussed making YouTube videos in 6th grade in downtown Pittsburgh, Ashley Cassoin discussed getting a new wheelie bag for her birthday in 5th grade in the North Side, Samantha Mifflin discussed listening to music in 3rd grade in Oakland, and Victoria Spurnick discussed pulling pranks her sophomore year at Carlow University in the South Side. Then, while jamming out to NSYNC, Carly, Spencer, Mr. Benson, and I composed another Childhood Chat in which Emily Grey discussed eating popcorn at 2 years old in Bloomfield, Hannah Mifflin discussed staying up all night in kindergarten in Highland Park, Sarah Ching discussed laying on her fuzzy pillow in 3rd grade in Lawrenceville, Emma Wallace discussed taking a dare in 7th grade in Morningside, Grace Luster discussed eating pancakes for breakfast in 1st grade in Point Breeze, Madison Dayley discussed making YouTube videos at 10 years old in Regent Square, Jennifer Preager discussed taking a selfie at 16 years old in Squirrel Hill, and Kayla Jennis discussed having a pillow fight at 18 years old in Stanton Heights. "Mr. Benson, those were all great Childhood Chats and the stars of Hamilton really liked growing up in the 2010s as children," Henri stated. "It's crazy, Henri," Mr. Benson agreed. "They went from little girls to near-young adults performing on stage," Mr. Benson remarked. "Spencer, as much as I loved visiting the Moonshot Museum for the first time, it reminds me of how much my old potential girlfriend, Phillis wanted to be an astronaut growing up," James stated. "I have felt that way about many girls that I wanted to marry and be friends with as a teenager, too, James," Spencer agreed. "But, I honestly don't mind being single!" "Yes, we are just single young men," James agreed. "Sarah, I remember taking an astronomy class for a time when I was in high school," Carly stated. "Either way, I am glad to have gotten to visit this place for the first time!" "That sounds cool, Carly," Sarah remarked. "I miss going to school. Hopefully, they can find a good guest speaker for the Taylor Allderdice Honors Banquet because I would be interested in speaking." "That would be amazing," Carly stated. Carly and Sarah then hugged. Then, it was time to go home afterwards. "Thanks for a great evening, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
