Quirk.

One word.

All it takes is this one word to determine the importance of a person in society. A word that defines a phenomenon in the body where the genes within a human being create a supernatural reaction that causes them to develop and invoke an abnormal ability. This 'superpower' can develop within a person as early as the age of four. This strange phenomenon has evolved humanity into something ethereal, almost like a comic book come alive. And with these powers begets people with selfish desires who will try to misuse them of their own volition with no regard for human life. These people are known by a single word.

They are called villains.

They are a growing problem that plagued society until an answer came in the form of a group of people retaliating against these villains, their goal being the safety of the civilians and to protect society. This group of retaliators who protect the people and combat the villains are called vigilantes.

Over time, quirks started to develop more frequently, and people who had developed these powers started to take up most of the population which ultimately made the term a form of identity to everyone in civilization. Now in current society, the view of the superpower known as quirk has changed, making individuals in society only see your worth in the power and strength of your quirk, people with powerful ones are regarded highly in civilization while the ones with weaker ones take lower to middle careers at best.

Due to this public view, quirks are now seen as an additional quality in work life, a person with an earth-related quirk being seen or put towards a job with the construction business or a person with the ability to control and command plants usually pushed and encouraged for a job in the agriculture field. With all this development now thrust in society benefitting people with quirks, it raises a question that no one asks: what happens if you have a quirk similar to one of a villain? What would happen to a person who owns a quirk that causes destruction and chaos?

Or what happens when you don't have a quirk at all? A term in modern society defines the phenomenon as being…

Quirkless.

In the world that revolves around these superpowers now known as quirks, there is a lifelong battle between good and evil which allowed the government to put forth a law to permit the employment of super police officers to enforce the law against these villains, pursuing the goal of the vigilantes as they now don the name: heroes. However, within the world of quirks and the people who hold the title of heroes, one has to wonder.

'What does it mean to be a hero? What does it take to become one? What does it take to have an identity in this world?'

"Izuku, lunch is ready!" A green-haired woman of average height and a slim figure with her hair in a ponytail yelled as she came out of the kitchen with a tray of dishes.

This woman, Inko Midoriya, was introduced to silence which made her worried until she heard some squeals from her young daughter, a baby with emerald hair that was tied into pigtails, her big, black eyes sparkling when she was eating food messily which made the mother put down the plates and run to the child. "Oh, Yu! You're messing up your dress. Stop that!"

Wiping the food from her daughter, she called for the boy's name again but once again received no answer before she turned to a tall black-haired man who was coming into the kitchen while glancing at his phone. "Sashi, is he in his room again?"

"Yeah…he's been holed up in there since Friday. Tried to get him out of his room but nothing, I'm not sure if he's sleeping." Hisashi remarked in a worried tone with his arms crossed as he sat down by the table.

"Alright, nice as new. Huh, Yu?" Inko smiled at her daughter before she looked upstairs with a worried expression on her face. 'I hope that everything's alright.'

At the upstairs of the house, there was a locked door with the nametag 'Izuku' on it. Within the room, the air is silent as the place is shrouded in darkness with a slight source of light coming from the window. The bedroom is fairly average and empty with a brown mat along with dumbbells by the closet and some posters of heroes plastered around his room's walls.

At the table in the room was a pale, raven-haired teenage boy who was sitting down in a chair, his long black, curly hair covering his face before he raised his right arm to his head, his other hand squeezing a muscle cruncher.

This teenager, Izuku Midoriya, was looking at the dirty and wrinkled paper that rested on his table with a dead look in his big, dark green eyes. Inspecting the paper again, the teen let out a huge sigh when he looked at the top of the paper.

Dreams and Aspirations.

Izuku's shoulders started shaking upon seeing the title, his head bumping on his wooden desk before he turned on his computer, seeing a list with most of the options showing a red 'X' beside them. Letting out a sigh, he lifted his hands to get ready to type before he paused, his hands resting on the desk as his lips curled downwards.

"It's no use, huh? No matter what I suggest or which profession I go for, I keep getting rejected. What can I do?" The teen mumbled to himself, in deep thought about the options that he had on the screen before he spun in his chair and looked outside. "Maybe a jog could get me an answer."

Turning off his computer and getting up from his chair, Izuku went to his closet, taking out a green and black hoodie along with black pants and red high-tops before he went out of his room. His parents were surprised to see him, the teen taking a moment to smile at them as he greeted his baby sister.

"Izuku! Are you ok?" Inko asked which he responded with a nod. "Yeah, mom. I'm alright…just gonna take some fresh air."

Inko looked at him, a bit worried before she went to him and straightened his jacket and hair, a smile on her face as she did so. "OK, please stay safe. And make sure not to stay out late, ok?"

"Yes, Mom." Izuku nodded before he heard his father on the table. "Oh, come on, Inko. He's 15. Izuku knows what to do. Kid's pretty much grown."

"I don't care, he's still my baby! Along with little Yu, is that right?"

Izuku heard a muffled sound from his sister, seeing her mouth covered in food, much to Inko's dismay as Hisashi got up and wiped her mouth.

"Alright. I'll...go." Izuku waved at them, the raven-haired teen left the house and then went on a jog, unaware of the worried stares from his parents.

On his way down the street, Izuku observed his neighbourhood, seeing people on the street doing their jobs, some of them using their quirks and powers to aid them with their occupations which made him look down at the ground and put his hoodie over his head.

"I really need to clear my mind." He said, gritting his teeth as he nonchalantly avoided the bins, garbage bags, and dumpsters as he crossed the road. "At least the breeze felt nice."

After several minutes of jogging, Izuku arrived at a beach, passing a sign that said 'Takoba Municipal Beach' before he decided to sit on the sand and watch the horizon. Feeling the wind passing through him, Izuku rested his arms on his knees as he allowed the breeze to put down his hoodie.

"Hey, c'mon, bro! Use your quirk!"

"Okay! Let me charge up first!"

His attention was caught by a few kids who were playing on the beach with their quirks. Watching the kids use their powers, Izuku could not help but feel jealous as he looked at his hand in pity before he let out a heavy sigh. "What career path can I follow? Is there anything that can I do? What should I do now?"

His mind recalled some memories at school as he looked at a crushed and dirtied piece of paper in his hand, his eyes looked at the title 'Dreams and Aspirations'.

"What can I do?"

"Give up."

These words have rung in Izuku's head after they left the mouth of the spectacled man sitting in front of him in the classroom, his four arms checking various papers on the desk. "There's no future for you, Mr. Midoriya."

"W-what?" Izuku's eyes widened when he finished processing the words of the teacher in front of him.

Barely paying attention to the teen's anguish and pain, the man looked at the boy with disgust and frustration as he looked at another paper. "I said give up, Midoriya. There is nothing for you. You don't need to come to Career Day."

Izuku racked his brain for every possible reason for this outcome, he tried his best and studied hard to score the best grades in his year which is shown in his reports, including the one in front of him. He has a fairly clean record and tried his best to avoid trouble, he even has decent grades in Physical Education. Gripping his hair, Izuku thought of any idea he could to persuade his teacher but he failed which made him begin to panic as he desperately asked. "W-why?"

The man ignored Izuku, continuing to read his papers before the teen asked again. "Why?"

"It's simple. You're quirkless."

Izuku felt his blood boil, trying his best to calm himself. With his fists clenched to the point of his knuckles turning white, his shoulders shook in rage as his eye twitched before he tried his best not to glare at his teacher.

He hated that word. That damn word. That stupid status.

"T-there's got to be something that I can do! I-I'm even top of the class and year in some subjects and I'm even studying very hard-"

"But you have no quirk. No redeeming qualities and you're not even a part of a prestigious family." The teacher cut him off, the old man rubbing his wrinkled forehead with a frustrated expression as he stamped some papers.

His mind in a panic, Izuku looked to the ground with a frown, thinking about his remaining options before he asked a question on his mind. "Teacher. Are there any jobs that I can go for? How about scholarships? What do you recommend for me to do? There has to be something!"

The teacher's expression changed into one of annoyance as he put down the papers on the desk and rested his hands on the table, his eyes looking at the curly-haired teen in front of him until he stood up and slammed his hands on the table.

"Be quiet, you quirkless reject! You're lucky we even allowed you to attend this school for so long! You are just a waste of space, boy! You will not be anything! You will not amount to anything and there is no place for you in this world! There is absolutely nothing for you! If you have put that through your skull, then leave this room at once!"

Izuku was shocked when he heard this, his eyes descending to the ground while the teacher ignored him and continued his work.

With a heavy heart, he grabbed his stuff and exited the room with his shoulders slumped, a huge sigh leaving his mouth as he dragged himself outside of school.

'It's always the same. I have no place. What can I do? Is there a point to keep trying?'

His thoughts clouded his mind as he left school, the teen not bothering to look back as he let out a sigh and scratched his wrist. 'It's almost the second year of high school and...I don't know what to do. More like I'm not getting the chance to prove myself. I can't even mask some of my achievements or say I have a quirk because they take an exam to check your quirk factor. Who needs a quirk to do office work anyways?'

"Well, a part-time job would be good. Some work experience could be good even if I don't have a quirk...maybe..." Izuku looked at his time as he made his way to the train station, making sure to check his surroundings. "It's gonna take some minutes until the train arrives. Just in case, let's kill some time."

After spending some time around the street and at the store, the raven-haired teenager quickly dashed to the station only to realize that the train was not there.

"What the? Where's the train?" Izuku looked around, seeing on the screen that he would have to wait for an hour for the train to arrive due to delay, much to the teen's shock. "I need to get out of here or else-"

"Hey, Deku~"

The voice made Izuku's body freeze before a hand went on his shoulder. He slowly turned to see an orange-haired burly teenager who had an evil grin on his face which made fear grip the raven-haired boy. "How horrible. Why are you going home so early? Don't you want to hang out with your friends?"

"K-K-Kurai. U-uhh…I-I need to g-go home. M-m-my-" Izuku was cut off when he was lifted into the air and then slammed onto the ground, the teenager named Kumo Kurai standing over him. Grinning, Kumo's eyes turned yellow before four hairy, spider-like arms came out of his body.

"Who gives a shit about what a quirkless piece of crap like you have to do?" Kurai's distorted voice echoed through the train station as he kicked Izuku into a wall, the latter tried to make a run for it only to be stuck on the floor by a string of webs. "Not so fast, Deku. You gave us the slip last time but now, you deserve compensation."

As the ravenette tried to escape from his webbed restraint, he received a kick to the chest before he noticed a group of delinquents behind Kumo. Before Izuku could do anything, the gang began to pummel him, his screams of pain echoing through the empty place. After a while, they took a break and admired their handiwork as they took pictures of a bloodied Izuku who was coughing up blood from his swollen face before a foot slammed on his head.

"What the fuck is this?" One of the delinquents said as they took out a piece of paper from Izuku's bag, reading the paper before he let out a laugh. "No, seriously! What the hell is this? You got the 'Dreams and Aspirations' paper as well? Why the hell did they even give you one?!"

"Hey, Kemono! The piece of shit wanted to apply for psychology?! You, a psychiatrist?! HAHAHA!" Everyone started to laugh at Izuku, one of them handing it to a blonde teenager whose hair was combed in a pompadour haircut along his ears were filled with piercings. This blonde delinquent, Sento Kemono, had a blue hoodie over his uniform and a pair of black gloves with a skull logo on them.

"What's this?" Kemono said as he took the paper, ignoring Izuku who was quivering on the ground in frustration. The wounded boy tried to get up, outstretching his hand to the paper. "K-K-Kemono…please, give that ba-ugh!"

Izuku received a kick to the face that busted his lip, blood dripping from his mouth before the foot connected to the back of his head which slammed him onto the ground.

"Deku, what did I tell you? You address me as Master Kemono. Understand?" Kemono said, his calm tone causing some of his henchmen to shiver in fear.

Izuku could barely voice a word when he received another kick to the stomach that nearly made him vomit before they continued torturing him, throwing away his bag into a trashcan and taking away all his money.

"Jeez. Well, that helped relieve some stress. Also, I don't know why you have this. You don't need this at all." Kemono crushed the paper and threw it on the ground before he stomped on it with the rest of the bullies.

Izuku could only watch as they all laughed while destroying his stuff, the teen fighting desperately against his restraints but it ended up in failure. After a while, they left him on the ground bloodied and beaten, the teen losing his consciousness as he heard the last words from Kemono.

"Face it, Deku! No matter what happens, you'll always be a loser! A quirkless piece of shit like you has no future!"

'Quirkless…all because I'm quirkless…'

Izuku thought as the memory flowed through his head, his frustration grew as he started gritting his teeth and balling his hands into fists. His body began to shake as he looked towards the sea. 'All because I'm quirkless. Nothing I do…nothing I try...nothing matters.'

Rubbing his black, curly hair, he looked out at the sea, his frustration changing to depression as he traced his fingers along his wristbands. "I just want to be something. To do something. Why does it have to come to this?"

Izuku spent an hour gazing at the sea as he had those thoughts, the scenery being able to soothe some of his depression as he enjoyed the comfort of the gentle breeze hitting his skin. 'None of the stores around here would accept me around here but...just any part-time job would do. Maybe-'

"Hey, if it isn't Deku?" Izuku's eyes jumped up quickly at the sound, turning to see Kumo and his gang who were approaching him. "It's nice to see you. We need your 'help' with something."

Hearing that sentence and getting up, Izuku quickly sprinted as fast as he could, the delinquents chasing after him. He sped through the street, trying his best to lose his pursuers as he hid within the crowd. After a while of running, the ravenette was able to lose them, catching his breath by an alleyway. "I guess…I lost them-"

"Motherfucker! You're a faster bastard than I thought."

Hearing the voice, whatever happiness and serenity that Izuku felt at that moment disappeared when he was grabbed by Kumo and thrown into a wall that knocked the wind out of him before he was stuck to the wall by a ball of webbing. "L-let me g-go, Kumo!"

"Fat chance! You're coming with me." Kumo said with a grin before he dragged Izuku like a garbage bag before he threw Izuku into the ground.

The spider-quirked teenager then grabbed him by the hair and dragged him towards the direction of a music store, ignoring the pained yells from Izuku as he pointed at a guitar on a display within the store.

"You see that guitar over there? I want you to steal it." When he heard the words from the Kumo's mouth, Izuku's eyes widened before he shook his head. "N-no...I-I-I-I can't do that. I won't do that. T-that's stealing. T-there's no way I'm doing that."

Izuku received a punch to his face before Kumo grabbed him by the collar and glared at him, veins showing on his forehead. "Do you think I give a shit? You're just a quirkless piece of shit outcast! Who would care if your ass went to jail? They probably won't even care if you steal it!"

"I-I can't do it. I won't. You can insult me all you want. Beat me up all you want but I'm not doing that." Izuku said before Kumo lifted him into the air and then slammed him onto the ground, choking him. "Now listen here, you motherfucker! I don't give a flying fuck about your morals or your livelihood. I want you to steal that guitar and give it to me. Capiche?"

Despite fear coursing through his body and the bloodthirsty look on his assailant's face, Izuku kept to his word as he spoke.

"No."

Hearing the ravenette's defiant reply made Kumo angry before someone cleared their throat, the two turning to see Kemono who was walking down the alleyway. Without warning, the blonde went past Kumo before he stomped on Izuku's chest.

"Deku, you have a baby sister, right?"

Izuku froze when Kemono said that, turning to the blonde who had a devilish grin on his face, his teeth transforming into sharp needles. "Your family? They live down the street near the doctor's office."

Kemono's hand turned into a claw as he grabbed the ravenette's face. "My brother's a gangster in this area. I think you know what this means, right?"

"B-but…" Izuku stuttered out of fear for his family's safety, his breathing becoming haggard, much to his tormentors' joy.

"No buts. Unless you want your family's house to be covered in red, do as I say. She's about to turn 1, right?" Kemono smirked before he took out his phone which made his captor break in a cold sweat.

"Wait! Ok, I'll do it. J-just…leave my family alone." Izuku conceded, much to the joy of the delinquents as Kumo and Kemono smirked, the two returning to normal.

"That's what I wanted to hear. Now be a good Deku and steal the fucking guitar." The delinquents snickered as Izuku gazed at the ground before he slowly went to the store. He tried to go to the store owner to explain his situation which ended in vain when he saw Kemono dialing on his phone from his peripheral vision.

'I can't have my family getting hurt…not them…' The black-haired teen was in deep thought as he dragged his feet towards the guitar, a wave of guilt hit his body which made him sick as he struggled to hold the bile in his stomach. 'I don't want to this b-but…'

Each step felt like an eternity as Izuku's sense of guilt weighed onto his body down like gravity, making it seem like the item was too far. As he went in front of the guitar, his hand shook with nervousness as he outstretched it towards the guitar.

'Why does it always have to be like this?'

As he picked up the guitar, Izuku started sweating as he looked at it, moving from the owner's field of vision to find the best path to dash out of the store.

'Why do I have to do this?'

Starting to breathe heavily, Izuku clutched his chest as he started panicking, a bunch of thoughts going through his head. 'I can't do this but I have to…for my family.'

"STOP!"

A voice thundered through the place.

Upon hearing the voice, Izuku froze, his body breaking into a cold sweat when he saw a bulky, blonde-haired man dressed in a blue and red superhero suit. Seeing the man, Izuku's eyes widened as his mouth worded his name. "All…Might…"

Shaking in fear, the raven-haired teenager was overwhelmed by pure despair and fear as the hero entered the store. All Might then started laughing with his hands on his hips before one of the people in the store fell to the ground, roaring in pain as he transformed into a huge lizard.

"Damn you, All Might!" The lizard said as it attacked the hero who vanished, Izuku was caught off guard before he heard several men getting knocked out around him which caused some of the people to cheer and celebrate.

"What the hell is happening?"

"It's All Might! We're saved."

Taken back by the strength of his opponent, the lizard man observed the place for any hostages until he saw Izuku, lunging at Izuku who nimbly dodged his attack. He continued trying to attack the teen who dodged a few more strikes until he jumped to the side, making his pursuer hit the wall. Not wasting any time, Izuku quickly sprinted until a shelf fell on his leg. "Damn it! C'mon, I need to get away."

"Too bad, kid. Now get in my belly!" The huge lizard shouted as he dashed towards Izuku who closed his eyes and shielded himself from the villain who opened his mouth. 'O-Oh no! It's the end.'

A sound of collision echoed through the store, Izuku opened his eyes to see All Might in front of him, the man stopping the alligator man in his tracks by holding his jaw with his hands.

"Hahaha! To think that you would do something so unsightly! If you want food…" All Might stated with a smile as he lifted the reptile into the air with one hand before he tightened his fist.

"Have a knuckle sandwich!" The blonde hero swung his arm, landing a powerful punch that sent the reptile into the air before he followed with another that knocked it out.

As the unconscious lizard transformed back into a man, everyone rejoiced as All Might picked up all the thieves in the store and handed them to the police who just arrived. During this, Izuku was on the floor, watching the scene in silent excitement and at the same time, immense guilt and nervousness before he looked at the guitar that was still in his hand.

'I hate this. What the hell am I doing?' He thought as he was about to take advantage of the commotion and leave. "Damn it."

As he was about to leave with the guitar, a hand stopped him, Izuku turning to see All Might who had a judgmental look that made the teen look down in guilt.

"What are you doing, young man?" The blonde man said, his words and the worried tone of his voice stabbing the teen's heart as he looked to the ground in disappointment until he dropped the guitar, his breathing getting more ragged as the man turned him around. "Are you ok?"

The police came to the place and arrested the villains, one of them approaching All Might and Izuku as they saluted the hero. "Thank you, All Might for all your good work. Hey, is the kid ok?"

"Don't worry. I'm just speaking to this young man. He's a huge fan. Are you able to take him home after our talk?" The blonde hero laughed while patting Izuku's back.

Raising an eyebrow, the police officer nodded before he pointed at the boy. "Oh. So, you think this kid is a part of the group of thieves?"

Izuku felt his throat dry, trying his best to stay calm as he could hear his heartbeat in his ears. All Might looked at the teenager, his glowing blue eyes searching the teen's expression until he voiced his answer. "Not at all. I'm just making sure that my fans are doing alright."

The officer glanced at the two before he left and waited by the police car. At that, Izuku fell to the ground, the teen finding it hard to breathe until he felt a hand on his shoulder, seeing All Might still beside him with a worried expression.

"You have not answered my question, young man. What are you doing?" Hearing his question and thinking to himself, Izuku pursed his lips before he opened his mouth and started. "I-"

"IS THAT ALL MIGHT?! AHHHH!" A bunch of fan girls dashed towards All Might who laughed and saluted before he vanished into thin air, making the girls faint out of excitement.

After a while and by a roof near the destroyed store, All Might reappeared with a winded Izuku in his grasp, the man putting the boy down before he turned to him and asked his question. "Are you able to answer my question now?"

The teen looked to the horizon, an unreadable expression on his face before he nodded. Izuku then took a deep breath and calmed his nerves before he decided to speak his mind, pointing to where the delinquents were. "I…I-I was forced to do it. My classmates...t-they threatened me...saying that his brother is part of a gang."

"Hmm…why did you not explain to the police or the school about their behavior towards you?" All Might said with a concerned face, getting his answer in the form of a nod from Izuku. "I tried but they ignore me…they all ignore me…because I'm quirkless..."

All Might's smile slowly faltered as he heard that, Izuku continuing to tell his story. "I tried many times to explain myself, even to my teachers but to no avail. They kept covering the evidence and even went as far as to forge things and make it my fault. I tried recording them but...the fact that I have no phone should explain everything."

Gritting his teeth, Izuku's hands shook when he looked at the city. "I…I just thought I could just grit my teeth and avoid them as much as I could until I finished high school but today…today…those guys found out about my family's whereabouts and threatened me…to take out my family if I didn't steal the guitar. And knowing them, this is not gonna be the last time."

After Izuku finished his story, the teen was unaware of All Might's fist clenched shut and his smile turned to a frown as he heard about the atrocities caused by his school's delinquents. 'To think such children exist…I need to do something about it.'

"Not to worry, young man. You will be alright. Everything will be ok because I am here." All Might said as he patted Izuku on his back, the black-haired boy looked up at the man who gave him an inspiring smile. "Keep holding your head high and never give up!"

All Might then took him back down to the police officer who was surprised by their presence as the hero gave the teen to them. "Guide this young man home please."

"Oh, ok, sir." The officer saluted as he directed Izuku to his car.

"Ok. Oh! Umm, All Might, sir. I have a question-" Izuku turned to see nothing, much to his surprise. Turning at the sunset, he went into the police car before he was driven home.

"I didn't even get to ask my question…"

After a few hours of driving, Izuku arrived home with the police only to come face to face with a worried Inko, the woman panicking as she spastically searched his body for any injuries. "Izuku! Are you ok? I heard about the accident near the jewelry store! I hope that you're ok! You're not hurt, are you? It was close to the Takoba beach!"

"Don't worry. He's fine. He has sustained no life-threatening injuries. He's a lucky kid." The officer explained, much to his parents' relief as Inko hugged her son. "Thank you, officer."

"You're welcome." The man bowed before he left, Izuku entered the house to see Yumemi who was slowly waddling around the place.

Seeing his sister made a smile appear on his face as he went to pick her up, the girl giggling as he played with her. The two children were unaware of their parents watching them, Inko let out a sigh of relief before Hisashi hugged her. "Inko, I told you that he was gonna be ok."

"That's rich coming from the man who was seconds away from filing a search request for his son and was ready to burn down the city for his boy." Inko gave the man a teasing glare before she pinched his cheek, getting a nervous chuckle from him.

"You can't blame me for being worried," Hisashi said, rubbing his hair. "You know how everyone looks at him...I just hope he can hold out."

"I know and I'm just happy he's ok. Let me get out his dinner." Inko said as she rushed to the kitchen.

Hisashi smiled as he joined them, laughing at Yumemi who sat on Izuku's lap and watched her favorite show. After having dinner with his family, Izuku stretched his arms before he caressed his sister's hair, the two siblings unaware of their parents looking at them with worried expressions.

"Hey, Izuku," Hisashi spoke as he leaned up in his seat. "Tomorrow, we'll be going shopping so how about you come with us? I'll buy you anything you want.

"Good idea!" Inko clapped her hands. "Especially since we were too busy to get one for your middle school graduation from Aldera Junior High. We were planning to go to Natsuha: your favorite restaurant."

"What about it? You could get that special edition All Might card you wanted?" Hisashi nudged Izuku who was cradling a sleepy Yumemi, an unreadable expression on his face before he nodded. "A-alright...I'll come along."

"I hope you're coming to spend time with your family and not for the Katsudon." Hisashi grinned at Izuku, Inko picked up Yumemi and put her in her crib. "Well, it's time to go to bed. We're going early tomorrow."

"Got it!" Father and son said in unison before they went to bed.

The next day, they all got ready and went to the store, Izuku felt a little better as they drove to a five-story shopping mall. They all spent time in the shopping mall, Inko buying groceries, and Hisashi buying clothes and tools for his work and the house respectively. Meanwhile, Izuku was wandering around the place with Yumemi, his eyes gazing at the hero merchandise on sale. During their trip around the shopping center, he felt the carriage shaking, Yumemi's eyes sparkling as she pointed at one of the stores.

"You want something in there, Yu?" The raven-haired teenager asked as he pushed her carriage into the store. Entering the store, Yumemi energetically pointed to a stand where a blonde-haired chibi dragon doll which Izuku recognized. "Oh! You want the Ryukyu doll, huh?"

"She likes dragons so it makes sense," Inko said as she entered the toy store. "Don't you, Yu?"

The little girl cooed happily as she held out her hands towards the toy.

"Alright, I'll get it for you." Hisashi pumped his chest, grinning ear to ear before he bought the doll. His attitude confused Izuku before he leaned towards his mother. "Is it ok for Dad to be like this? I mean, Yu's about to go to preschool soon when she turns 2?"

"Let him be. He just got a huge bonus so he's feeling good right now. Surprisingly, he has her school tuition sorted which in itself is surprising."

"Oh," Izuku said as they watched Hisashi skip and give the doll to Yumemi which made them share a nervous chuckle.

Seeing his sister happy made Izuku feel elated until he noticed something in one of the stores, walking to see a metal bat that was colored blue and red, similar to the colors of All Might's superhero suit. He walked to the bat, tracing her fingers along the metallic bat, and seeing the symbols on the top section of the bat.

"Don't you want anything for me to buy?" Hisashi said, knocking Izuku out of his stupor before the man noticed his son's hand on a bat, picking up the bat and inspecting it. "Is that what you wanted, Izuku?"

"Honestly…I don't know…" Izuku was in a daze, looking at his reflection on the bat before he put it down. "I'm… not sure…maybe this bat?"

Hearing his response, Hisashi grinned and Inko clapped her hands together. "You want to go back to playing baseball again, Izuku?"

"I'm...not sure," Izuku said as he looked at the metal bat before he practiced some swings with it, the store clerk was surprised by the strength behind the swing. "Woah, kid! Those are some super swings there! Careful you take someone's head off with that."

"Sorry." Izuku apologized as he tried to get a good grip on the bat before he put it back on the shelf. "I don't think I need it."

Hisashi looked at his son's expression before he picked up the bat. "Hey, Izu-"

Suddenly, the place began to shake violently, Izuku looked around the place in shock as it happened. Everyone in the mall started to panic, the guards trying their best to stay calm as they inspected the place and escorted the people out of the shopping mall as a precaution.

"What happened?"

"Is it an earthquake?"

"Seems like a slight tremor. An attack?"

Izuku turned to his parents to see that they were ok, Inko holding a scared Yumemi while Hisashi was carefully searching the place. Letting out a sigh of relief, the teen smiled until he noticed something from the distance out of the window coming towards them. 'Is that a giant fis-'

Suddenly, the shopping plaza was struck by a fist which destroyed part of the building, causing everyone to lose their balance. Seeing the ground about to give away, Hisashi grabbed Inko and took her and Yumemi to a safe place before he called to Izuku. "Izuku, c'mon! We need to leave!"

Suddenly, a huge piece of rubble descended towards them, Hisashi's mouth lit aflame as he shot a wave of flames that did nothing to the falling piece of earth.

"Damn it!" He cursed, carrying Inko with him as they hurriedly ran away.

Seeing the situation, Izuku's heart fell as he saw the debris coming towards his family. The black-haired boy began to panic as he saw the situation, multiple memories of his family going through his mind as he watched. Without thinking, without reason, Izuku gritted his teeth as a singular word came out of his mouth.

"N-no..."

Everything was in slow motion as the debris was a few meters from Hisashi's face, the man trying again to charge another fire blast until he was pushed out of the way along with Inko and Yumemi, the parents turning to see Izuku behind them which made their faces pale. "Izuku!"

'Alright, they're out of the way.' Izuku thought as he tried to retreat.

Within an amount, Izuku felt a sharp pain coursing through his body before he saw a metallic pole stabbing through his arm, the piece of debris pierced through his arm which caused him to yell in pain. "AHHH!"

Before he could do anything, the ground broke apart underneath the debris which made him lose his balance; the weight of the boulder bent his arm in an unnatural position, his ears hearing the sickening crunch that followed that made him shout in pain. 'Damn, my arm! It hurts!'

The raven-haired teenager clenched his teeth to ignore the pain, tears welling from his eyes until he noticed multiple people falling along with him, some underneath him who were on the ground before he yelled at them.

"RUN NOW!"

Everyone underneath him looked up and ran away in fear and panic, Izuku tried to move but failed when his head collided with the floor which nearly made him unconscious.

'Damnit, it hurts.'

Suddenly Izuku heard a roar that shook the place, looking outside to see a gigantic man, who looked like a shark, wreaking havoc until he was dragged out of the shopping mall by a wood-clad hero dressed in a dark-blue bodysuit with several wooden protective pads on his knees and elbows.

"That's Kamui Woods!" Izuku said as he saw the hero, Kamui Woods, fighting the shark villain.

During their brawl, Kamui Woods noticed that the villain was destroying the shopping mall, the hero unleashed a barrage of wooden tendrils that wrapped around the villain.

"Get this shit off me!" The shark villain said as he tried to fight against his bindings.

Despite his struggle, Kamui pulled him into the street, other heroes escorting the civilians away from the shopping mall while saving some people from the falling rubble in the process.

"It's Kamui Woods!" Some of the fangirls on the roadside squealed as they watched the Wood Hero hit the villain with an enlarged wooden fist before grabbing him by the neck and then pulling him further into the street. "Now, Mount Lady!"

"Canyon Cannon!"

A huge, blonde-haired woman descended from the sky and landed a dropkick on the villain, knocking him down. She was dressed in a purple and tan skin-tight bodysuit with a pair of purple boots and gloves. The woman wore a domino mask with a pair of purple horns on the sides of the mask.

As the villain fell to the ground, Mount Lady quickly transformed into her normal form before she went underneath the villain and then enlarged herself to catch him. "Hold on! You can't be falling for me now; we'll have to add property damage to your bill if you do!"

"Shut up, you bitch!" The villain said drowsily as he tried to regain his bearings. "I'll kill you!"

Recovering from the attack, he tackled Mount Lady who withstood his attack, the shockwave from their collision caused the shopping mall to be unstable which did not go unnoticed by the heroine.

"Kamui! I'll hold him off! Help the other heroes with the civilians!" Mount Lady said as she punched the villain in his face.

Kamui Woods nodded as he swung over to the shopping mall, using the tendrils from his arms to lift some of the rubble that was trapping the civilians along with stopping some of the falling boulders from hitting some of the people on the road who thanked him. "Thank you, sir!"

"It's no problem. Now please go before you get hurt. The ambulance is over there!" The wood hero said before he went to the other side of the building.

Meanwhile, Mount Lady was fighting against the villain, the heroine managing to land a couple of blows and then putting him in a headlock before she noticed veins appearing on her foe's body, the man beginning to increase in size.

"What the? Why can't you just stay down and comply?" She voiced her complaint, her opponent screaming angrily.

"Shut...up!" The villain said, trying to slash her which failed thanks to her evading his strikes before she grabbed his hands and twisted them behind his back. "Nonono! Now please stop! Let me go!"

"Sorry, but I can't let you cause any more damage!" Mount Lady said with a grin.

Meanwhile, Kamui Woods tried his best to reinforce the damaged building, transforming his arms into wooden poles to keep the infrastructure stable. After he was finished, he noticed a few villains about to shoot Mount Lady before he lunged towards them.

"Not on my watch!" The Wood hero said, quickly binding the group of villains before he knocked them out by slamming them down on the ground.

He then turned his attention to the fight between the two giants, seeing Mount Lady dodging a few strikes before she held her opponent in a chokehold to prevent him from damaging the surrounding buildings. Despite her best efforts, the villain managed to break out of the heroine's grip before he went on a rampage.

"I'm free!" The man said as he was about to run into a park, Kamui Woods rushing towards him.

Before the man could crash into the park, the Wood hero immediately rooted himself onto a rooftop using the branches coming from his boots as his arms began to get bigger.

"Lacquered Chain Prison!"

Without warning, multiple branches shot out of his arms and wrapped around the villain, binding him in place as he struggled to move.

"Now Mount Lady!" Kamui shouted at the heroine who smiled as she dashed towards the villain with her arm put forward.

Swinging her arm with all her might, Mount Lady hit the opponent with a powerful lariat before she quickly positioned herself, putting her fist behind her opponent's neck as he unleashed all of the strength in her body to keep her grip on him.

"Gridlock!"

Keeping their hold on him for a while, the two heroes let out a sigh of relief when the villain lost consciousness and began to shrink in size, resulting in Mount Lady doing the same while Kamui Woods dragged the thug to the police, much to the civilians' joy as they all shared the same thought.

"Good riddance..."

"…sashi…Hisashi!"

"Huh?" Hisashi let out a sharp exhale, jumping up before he felt a slight pain in his head. "What the hell?"

He looked around the place before he noticed that he was under a pile of rubble with some other civilians, some of them being wounded. Beginning to panic, Hisashi searched the place until he saw Inko and Yumemi beside him, the two having slight bruises on their bodies. "You're ok, Inko! Oh, thank God!"

"I'm ok…I thought you were going to die…" Inko said, her eyes watery as they both hugged each other. After a while, Hisashi looked around the place with a serious expression. "This isn't good."

"Yeah. It's a miracle that we aren't hurt. Luckily, the ground didn't get destroyed and some poles helped us from being crushed." Inko said, cradling Yumemi as she started panicking. "I'm just worried about Izuku. I-Is he gonna be ok? I don't want my baby Izuku to d-"

"Inko!" Inko stopped as Hisashi looked at her with a gentle expression. "Izuku is gonna be ok. He's our son and he's a strong kid. We need to focus on getting out of here so that we can be able to find him."

They then heard some sounds above them, hearing Kamui Woods and other heroes calling for people as someone pushed away the rubble with a blast of water, the people saw a man in a red outfit similar to a water hose looking at them. "There are some more people here! Keep calm, we'll get you out!"

Everyone started to celebrate until the rubble started to lower on them which caused some of the people to scream and panic.

"Tch, we don't have time! Everyone, please move!" Hisashi announced to everyone, the civilians moved out of his way as he took a deep breath and held his breath. After a minute, sparks began to come out of his nostrils before he released a blast of blue fire that melted the rubble in front of him and created a pathway. "C'mon, let's go!"

Everyone quickly went through the pathway; the rubble started to give way and fall on them.

"Oh no!"

Before they were crushed, a white-haired, muscular man, who was dressed in a cyan cardigan and dark blue baggy pants, suddenly dashed through the opening and lifted the rubble. "Go now!"

"Our thanks, Death Arms!" One of the civilians said, the man nodded with a grin.

Hisashi quickly got everyone as quickly as possible, Death Arms smiled as he punched the rubble that caved in on him, much to everyone's shock. Seeing no sign of movement from the pile of rocks, the people got worried until an arm busted through the rubble, the hero coming out unscathed which made everyone celebrate. Meanwhile, Hisashi and Inko were looking around the place, worried expressions on their faces as they prayed for the wellbeing of their eldest child.

'Izuku, please be safe.'

"Huh?" Izuku's eyes opened suddenly, his vision being red until he noticed blood coming down his face before he looked around. 'What happened?'

As he tried to move, he felt an intense pain coursing from his left arm which made him grunt in pain. "Ow. What the-"

His eyes widened when he saw his bloodied arm that was bent unnaturally, noticing a gash that went from his elbow down to between his middle and ring finger. Gripping his injured limb, Izuku slowly stood up before he noticed a few wounded children in front of him who were crying.

"I'm scared…"

"It hurts…"

"I want my mommy!"

Seeing them like this made Izuku feel a pang of pain in his chest before he took a moment to calm himself. 'The best way to get around a situation like this is to keep a level head and check my surroundings.'

He then heard a collision, a huge tremor following that caused the rubble to descend which scared everyone. Izuku observed the place once more, noticing more people around him before he began to mumble to himself. "Alright, this place isn't going to hold for long so we will need to keep it reinforced until the heroes come. If we have the right quirks, we can keep the rubble from crushing us."

He was cut out of his thoughts when he heard the kids crying, one of them curling themselves into a ball out of fear. Izuku felt a feeling of familiarity, seeing a smaller version of himself in the same position which made him look to the ground.

'I hate how familiar this feels. I can understand their fear. These people…' He then tightened his fist as he noticed the rubble moving again. He then got up and clutched his arm, a single thought into his mind. 'I can't…give up…'

"I'm so scared…" One of the kids cried until he felt a hand on his head, seeing Izuku looking at him with a huge smile on his face. "It's…gonna be fine, ok? We'll get...out of here."

The children looked at him as they wiped their tears before they gasped at seeing his arm. "B-b-but you're hurt...and we're stuck."

"Don't worry, it's not as bad as it looks. It's just a slight cut." Izuku gave them a thumbs-up with a smile before he snapped his fingers. "Hey, we're going to play a fun little game. I'll make sure that you guys get out of here…"

Izuku then turned to the adults with a serious expression. "Do we have anyone with a super strength or an earth manipulation quirk among you?"

"No, our quirks aren't much." An injured, old man said in the back, Izuku shook his head in defiance as he stood up. "I don't think so, sir. There's no such thing as a useless quirk. Maybe if we put them together, we can get something done."

Everyone looked at Izuku in disbelief before they all frowned and shook their head.

"There is nothing that we can do. We're powerless…we're gonna die…"

"We can wait until the heroes come..."

"What are you talking about? We're going to die before then."

Izuku tried again to speak to them but they would not listen, the teenager seeing the defeated and depressed expressions on their faces before he looked around for something. Realizing it was no use and ignoring them, he picked up a few poles and put them in sections of the rubble to reinforce the place, the old man looking at the teenager. "Give up, kid! It's no use!"

"Do you want to die, sir?" Izuku said while he tried to stick a pole into the ground before another tremor happened which caused the place to shake, the poles able to withstand the rubble. "Or do you want to live?"

Suddenly, they heard a collision before the place started shaking. The boulders above them started to break apart as part of it slowly collapsed towards the injured civilians and the children, all of them screaming in panic as the rubble fell on them. They all closed their eyes and braced for impact, feeling nothing that made them confused.

"W-what?" The old man looked up; his face distorted to a shocked look at what he saw. "What?"

They all saw Izuku holding up the debris, the teen clenching his teeth as blood dripped from his body.

"Are…you ok?" Izuku could barely speak out, the people slowly nodding which made him smile until he strained when the boulder started descending on him. Taking a deep breath, he tried his best to hold the rubble in place as he pointed to a safe spot with his safe arm. "You need…to go quickly…I don't know…how long…I can hold this up…there's…an opening…"

"Oh! The opening got bigger!" One of the kids said as they tried to get through but it was too small for them, much to everyone's dismay. "But we can't squeeze through it."

Thinking about the situation, Izuku looked at everyone, seeing them panicking before he glanced at the ground. Contemplating his choices, the raven-haired teenager searched the place before he looked at everyone, something coming to his head.

"What are…your quirks?"

Everyone looked at him, the adults panicking a little while the kids looked at each other before they shared a courageous look and turned to the teen.

"I can throw things very fast!" One boy with purple hair said with a determined expression.

"I can harden everything I touch." A blonde girl with a ponytail added in before another child with brown hair jumped behind her. "Anything I spit on blows up! It has to be small though!"

Izuku nodded before he searched the place, seeing a bunch of rocks. "Those…are wonderful quirks. I wish...I was as cool as you guys."

The kids were happy to hear that before Izuku turned to some rocks that were around the place. "Hey, why don't you try hardening those rocks over there?"

"Oh, ok."

The blonde girl touched the stones which made them glow, the teen then turned to the purple-haired boy. "It's your turn."

"Yes!"

One of the adults noticed Izuku before he said. "Wait! Aren't you that quirkless kid?"

Everyone was surprised by this but Izuku ignored them as he told the kids what to do, one of the adults crawled to him and grabbed him by the collar. "You idiot! What are you making the kids do?! What can a quirkless boy like you can d-"

"Yes, I'm quirkless." Izuku cut the man off, a glare on his face that frightened the man and the rest of the adults. "But I at least want to live. Heroes are humans too so there are times when you need to persevere on your own."

"What do you mean? We can't do anything without the heroes!" The old man shouted. "You won't understand! You're just a quirkless reject!"

"Who the hell cares?!" Izuku shouted.

Everyone was caught off by this, Izuku shaking in anger as he started to push against the rubble. "Having a quirk...or not having a quirk does not prove your identity…you can be whatever you want...despite this. Even you, sir!"

The old man paused in shock as Izuku turned to the kid with a smile on his face. "You can do this. Time for operation: Hero."

Nodding happily, the kid then threw the stones with all his might, all of them moving at the speed of a bullet as they hit the boulder. After they pierced and embedded into the boulder, the last kid did not waste any time before he looked at Izuku who took a deep breath and he parted his legs.

Izuku looked at everyone as he braced himself. "Okay, everyone! I'm gonna push the boulder and once I do, all of you get out as quickly as possible, ok?"

Everyone looked at the teen with shocked expressions, one of the kids hugging his leg. "But what about you? Are you going to be ok?"

"I can't move right now...but I have to make sure that you and everyone get out safe. Just make sure that you get out safely...and tell the heroes that I'm here, ok?" Izuku smiled, and the kids nodded before he turned to everyone. "The heroes can't save from everything. That's the reason for safety precautions, right?"

"You…" The old man mumbled.

"Are you all ready?" Izuku asked.

As soon as he saw everyone nod, Izuku pushed the rubble with all his might, veins appearing around his body as he managed to move the boulder a little. Ignoring the blood spilling from his broken arm, he felt a spark of energy coursing throughout his body, everyone noticing the rubble beginning to rise as the entrance got bigger.

'C'mon, Izuku. You can do this.' The teen's body started to feel like it was on fire, especially his hands as he pushed against the debris. His body started to let out a small glow, his hair moving wildly as he was able to make enough space. Seeing what he did, he quickly turned to the kid.

"Now!"

The kid did not waste as he spat on the pebbles, all of them exploding which created a huge hole for everyone to go through.

"Go on…now!" Izuku shouted.

Everyone nodded as they quickly crawled through the hole, Izuku trying his best to hold the debris in place as he watched them all go through the opening. Seeing the last person go through made a sigh of relief come out of the teen's mouth before he noticed the old man who was arguing with him still inside, much to his shock.

"What's wro-" Izuku paused, gasping when he saw the man's leg being damaged. "Your leg!"

"That's why I told you to give up…" The old man said as he looked down.

"This is different! If you told me about this, someone would be able to help you to get out-"

"I'm going to be dead anyway. This is the end of the rope. Save yourself, kid." The elderly smiled before he looked at the entrance. The teen's heart started to beat fast, his breathing becoming ragged as an immense pain coursed through his body. "You're at your limit, kid. Go...you qurkless reject!"

"Who said that it's the end?" The man opened his eyes as he saw an angry Izuku still holding up the debris, ignoring whatever pain was coursing through his body. "Don't give up! I'll hold on as much as I can! I won't let you die!"

Izuku's body started to feel less strain as he steadily began to hold up the rubble, the only thing on his mind being the safety of the old man in front of him. He did not care how he felt at the moment, he did not care how much pain ran through his body, he only focused on lifting the debris.

"Don't…fall…"

Seeing the teen slowly begin to push the boulder up, the old man watched in shock at the boy's vigor and willpower. After a while, Izuku's body reached its limit, the teen unable to conjure any more strength as his body fell forward, the rubble coming with him. At that moment, his entire life flashed before his eyes as he fell to the ground, looking at the old man who was bracing himself for death.

'I guess...this is my limit.'

The teen heard nothing, his consciousness fading until he felt a shockwave hit his back. After the shockwave, he saw a blinding light as someone picked him up, the boy was confused until he heard a few voices in the distance.

"There's two more here! Get this one on a stretcher!"

"Did…did this kid really hold up that rubble?"

Izuku started smiling, his feeling of relief lifting off his adrenaline as he turned to the elderly man. "I…told you…so…"

His eyes closed, his mind shutting down into unconsciousness as the last thing he could hear was his parents' voice.

'At least you're all ok…'

A new story. My Hero Academia. This is a weird show for me honestly. I like the show but I have my gripes about it but eh, who cares? Enjoyed it. And yes, Izuku's hair is black about his beta look but yeah. Another thing that was weird to me was how much they discriminated against quirkless people. Well, enough of that. This is the chapter, Hisashi is alive and here, the Midoriya household has another child, Yumemi Midoriya, and Izuku and All Might's meeting is much...different than the anime. Hope you all take care of yourselves from here and let me know your thoughts. Enigma out!
