'I have mastered a thousand of my blades a thousand times and ten thousand of my swords ten thousand times. In the end, immortality allows for one to see the broader image that the world wishes to show. I have gazed upon the beginning, foreseen the end, lived through the chaos and anarchy, and let me tell you, men will not change. Greed, Lust, Pride dwells within all. I am no exception, that is why I decided to be the kind of ruler that I was. I isolated myself from both gods and mankind to ensure that both could grow into their own without the need to rely on the other. I am a being born of both man and god, so I cannot tell you what I feel towards either, but I can tell you that both have their ups and downs. Good and bad, it dwells within all...'~ King Naruto.
The world was on edge. A strange unknown feeling permeated the air around the world as if it was preparing for something that could be experienced only once in a lifetime. Jellal smirked, "The party is starting and the gallery is getting boisterous." the rogue Wizard Saint remarked, "This battle is where we spectate the clash of the origins of magic itself from the most ancient of times that predate the Great Founder Merlin. This is the power of those from the Age of the Gods, and it is sure to be a sight." he stated with a mad smile, "Give us something worth watching will you?"
Naruto hovered in the air, Ea held in his grasp, silent, unmoving. He was waiting for his opponent to appear so the fight could begin. This change with a sudden blast of dust fills the air as he newcomer comes to an immediate stop beneath him, the cloud quickly vanishing as Naruto stares down calmly while his opponent stares up at him in return, her eyes holding nothing but love and respect in them. And then...
They both smile!
At this signal, the King of Heroes mightiest weapon; the Sword of Rupture let out a roar. Ea, the sword which the Gods wielded at the beginning of all creation. Older than man-older than the stars themselves, having inherited a factor of divinity, when Naruto handles it, it can be categorized as...
'W-What is this ridiculous magic power?' Juvia grunts as she nearly buckles to the ground.
'What the...' Erza thinks to herself.
'This is bad... I feel like I'm being crushed...' Gray shakes in fear.
AN ANTI-WORLD WEAPON
It doesn't matter if there is one opponent or many, so long as they are a part of this world they will be ripped apart. That is what it means to take a full powered blow from the King of Heroes. Right now, one person stands against that very blow. This blow is a gift to his oldest and only true friend. His joy at their reunion.
He is a dignified man with golden hair standing up like a blazing flame. His face is described as handsome, and his eyes, crimson like blood, are visibly not those of a human and give off a mysterious radiance that makes people wither. He has a 'perfect, Golden-proportioned body' described as emanating majesty that makes flames surrounding him afraid to come close, and his very soul glows golden. He presents himself with the golden armor complete with a red waist cape. By removing his armor, he exposes the red tattoos that he bears when using his full power. In addition, he wears a golden necklace and has golden earrings.
His action of unleashing this primordial weapon causes a series of jagged geographic lines to fill the air, crisscrossing to form the shape of a massive tree that illuminates the dark heavens in which he floats. A bolt of red energy shooting down from the tip of the massive energy-made illusion. He can't help but feel excited, haven't not seen the face of this particular enemy in close to five thousand years, "Ea!" he declares the name of his sword, the rotating cylinder-like sections glowing red/white from the sheer amount of power coursing through the weapon. Powerful storm-cloud's quickly building up from the sheer potency of his energy, "Sing praise as you like!" he demands, aiming the godly weapon down towards the earth.
The Star that Split Heaven and Earth... Enuma Elish... Naruto's ability to split the world asunder was being cast.
Across the world, many could feel the planet vying for its power as the weapon of destruction gathered its fill, and many instantly felt such ramifications of this action. Lucy gasped, her hands weakly shaking as she looked down at them in shock, 'Magic power is escaping my body...' she thought to herself.
What was causing such a phenomena that it forcefully removed a persons magic without dropping them into the throes of death itself?
It wasn't just those on the island where the Tower of Heaven was located, it was happening everywhere. Back at the guildhall, the guild in its entirety was affected, and if they were to go outside, they would see that it wasn't just the wizards, the ordinary folk, the animals, the plants, the very ground was literally having any and all forms of magic stripped away and pulled towards the direction of the battle. The Sword of Rupture growled as sparks of crimson electricity spark and crash through the sky as it turns to thunder. The forces of both heaven and earth clash against each other. A battle of the divine never before seen by mortal eye that would no doubt leave many filled with various emotions of awe, shock, wonder, fear, dread, horror and more.
"The sky is being scraped away..." Gray remarks, drops of sweat run down his cheek. He hears something and turns and feels his eyes widen as he watches the ground crumble apart, several people crying out in shock as it happens. Such power would destroy the world itself...There isn't a person alive who can survive an encounter with the one wielding this kind of power. Gray turns and feels his heart skip as he takes notice of a flower blooming from the ground nearby, the energy it held surpassed any amount of magic he had ever wielded in his life. Just what the hell was happening?
Naruto's opponent looked up towards the sky with happiness, the red light of the godly sword glowing as it gathered its strength shining through the growing storm, "I am happy...all that I am will be laid out in one blow..." the green haired woman smiled at him, "to compare my abilities..." she said as the wind grew in ferocity, she raised her arms, widely spread as she embraced her power, "I am happy...against to face off you once again." she stated as rain began to fall from the high heavens. She lowered her arms as she spoke in a more firm tone, "In modern terms... I'm gonna go all out..." she told him, "Naruto..." she said, declaring her opponents name seriously, droplets of rains hovering in the air as her power flexed itself.
That which spread life, bloomed. The ground beneath her feet glowed as she began to spread her power of creation around her. The golden energy spreading to cover a vast amount of land as a veritable hurricane was conjured up by the sheer power of her opponents Sword of Rupture. White lightning flashed as their energy of both creation and destruction filled the air. Red Lightning fell from the heavens as golden lightning flew up to meet it in the sky. From the past to the future, from the future to eternity... the land together with the sea, and those in turn to the sky...
"Whoa!" Gray cried as he stumbled, the energy blasting down around him and the others.
"WAH~" Natsu exclaims as he falls to the ground.
As this happens, Erza gains a look of serious concern, "There's no mistake..." she utters to herself, "The one facing Naruto currently... has the same level of strength." she states.
What a terrifying thought.
It shouldn't be possible, but yet... it was...
THE PLANET CRIED OUT~ALL ITS POWER, GATHERING TOGETHER IN ONE PLACE...
"The power of the void is in opposition to that of the planet." Makarov said with wide eyes as he eyes the growing thunderstorm on the horizon, the tendri,s of raw Ethernano filling the sky and coalescing to fight back against the sheer devastation.
"In life, losing fear is engraved into every deed. Humans create their own paradise and understand the origin." Porlyusica said with narrowed eyes as she stands outside her house in the forest, the energy filling the air unlike anything she had ever sensed before in her life. What was this, and how was all of it coming together to finish.
Enkidu smiled at her friend, "Don't hold back on my account." she tells him.
They walked together with humanity into hell itself...and having gained the joy of friendship, they sang of a paradise.
All around the continent, all across the sea, a flower of energy blossomed into being as Earthland gathered its strength.
O' humans, let us restrain the Gods above... Enuma Elish... The power to build and conceive anything into creation, Enkidu called upon her power over life.
"I will tell you of the beginning." Naruto chanted, red and gold lightning flashing through the air as he did so, the ground shaking as the unfathomable power once again peaked higher and higher, "Heaven and Earth split, nothingness congratulated creation, my sword cleaved the world!" he declared, a flash of red electricity shooting past him, his grin filled with excitement for the next and final clash between the two friends. The clouds continued to gather, growing darker and darker each second and expanding to become one massive hurricane of raw unconstrained power.
At the same time, his friend allowed her power to flourish, wreathing vines grew and turned into towering tree's, beautiful ferns growing around the base of the trunks, "I will awaken the breath of the planet..." she chanted in response to his own, her power of creation versus his own power of destruction... they had never settled the fight, and now it was time to see who was the better between the two of them, once and for all, "For I walk with humanity." she finished as she was lifted into the air on the ever growing tree she was conjuring, "Therefore..." she seemed to growl. The tree's wound around each other, growing ever higher and higher into the sky, a ethereal blossom of raw Ethernano had bloomed into being as her creation reached the heavens above.
"Mortar of the stars, heaven's hell is the eve of creation's celebration!" Naruto declared loudly, the clashing of two primordial forces ripping the fabric of reality apart as cracks appeared around the epicenter of their growing strength.
As they finished gathering the last vestiges of their power, the sun peaked over the horizon, illuminating the super-storm that had been conjured from the energy being released.
"Enuma..." the two chanted with loud cries, "Elish!"
And their forces clashed... white light illuminating the world...
To understand how the circumstances of how this battle came to be, we must go back. Back to where it all begin, when man and god lived as one and the world was much more different and dangerous than it is in the current era, where a hero is found... and reborn from myth.
Many would consider gods as mere story, their power only ever witnessed through those called God Slayers and the even rarer take over mages. However, every so often, the Gods would interfere with the lives of the mortals. Sometimes as buffers to keep the balance. Sometimes to punish. Sometimes to reward. Sometimes to simple mingle about with them, but they would always leave something behind in the wake of their visits. One such visit was during a era before the very concept of wizards, before the idea of wizard guilds and even Dragon Slayers. Ages before the time of Zeref the Dark Wizard, before the birth of the horrifying Dragon Slayer Acnologia.
This was the time known as the Age of the Gods, in which the God's themselves would sometimes come down and interact with humanity. It was in this era, a man would rise up. He would come to be known as the King of Heroes, his legend is one where many would assume that he separated mankind from the subjugation of the Gods when they became to arrogant and thus challenged them to battle and succeeded. However, this is not all true. This King of Heroes did challenge the gods, but not out of spite, arrogance, or even hubris.
He did it to free humanity of their burden to being forced into subjugation by the gods.
The great half-god, half-human King of Heroes born from the union between the King of Uruk; Lugalbanda, and goddess Rimat-Ninsun. He was an ultimate, transcendent being so divine as to be two-thirds god and one-third human, and no others in the world could match him. He was a despot, possessing high divinity who was believed to be almost nigh invincible. His title, King of Heroes, is not meant to call him a king who is a hero, but rather implies that he is the king over all heroes. He is mankind's oldest hero, the origin of all myths and model on which heroes are based, so his story is copied within the mythologies of all the countries of the world.
Before his birth; Naruto's father, made a deal with The White Titan Sefar, in order to be spared, allowing for him to be born.
Born with a body that was of the highest grade by mortal standards and knowledge reaching truth, Naruto was born, designed, as king and the Wedge of Heaven to connect the rising humans and the fading gods. He was the first demigod ever sired and as such was sent to ensure the humans and bind the earth slowly leaving the Age of Gods. He was a being embodying the two life sets of life forms, with the blood of those who had ruled and the blood of those who would rule from thereon. He was to be the ultimate neutral party able to discern their respective failings, adjudicating from their respective positions. During his childhood, he loved the gods instead of humanity, but the gods created Enkidu at that time to punish the arrogant boy-king.
Enkidu observed the young Naruto, but could not understand the need to punish such an amiable, ideal king who was praised and lauded by his infatuated subjects. There could be no flaw that required correction, and the only problem was that he did not submit to the gods even if he did respect them. Enkidu was forced to admit that the gods had been correct as she watched the boy grow into a young man. Practicing absolutism, oppression, duress, levies, and the utmost decadence from self-interest, the people of the kingdom lamented the change, and even the gods were perplexed at the extent of the expected transformation.
The reason was simply that he had been born with the conclusion already drawn, existing independently as a being neither fully divine or human. He acquired the characteristics of both, so his field of vision reached even past what the gods were able to comprehend. His overwhelming power bred overwhelming isolation, but his strength of self kept him from abandoning his kingship or fleeing from the mission imposed upon him. Through revering the gods and loving humanity, he decided to follow the path to its conclusion by deposing the gods and loathing humanity.
Naruto encountered Enkidu for the first time outside of the Temple of Uruk, who immediately stated that she would reprimand the King and rectify his arrogance. They entered a battle that spanned for seven days and seven nights, and Naruto was forced to use all his strength to match his transforming opponent. He was both angered and surprised at having found his equal for the first time, insulting Enkidu as a clod of mud. He was forced to draw out his treasures that had been carefully stored away, marking the first use of his Gate of Babylon as a weapon, and although it was a reluctant and forced humiliation at first, he eventually began to enjoy it and brought them out without regret.
He eventually emptied the entirety of his sacred vault, and Enkidu was left with only a small percent of her clay. Rather than continue, Naruto let himself fall backwards onto his back while bursting with laughter, Enkidu following in suit. He remarked that there would only be one chance to strike for each of them, and without any means of defense, it would leave only two foolish corpses. Enkidu was never able to interpret if that meant it was a tie or if Naruto wanted to make it so that there would only be one corpse. Enkidu asked, "Do you not regret the treasures you have spent?" to which he replied in a bright voice, "Why, if it's someone I should use it on, then it's not unthinkable to do him the favor."
Naruto and Enkidu soon became close friends afterward, marking the one and only story of eternally unchanging worth in all the world. They worked side by side, and Naruto noted that his vault started to become disordered after having begun utilizing weapons as projectiles, calling it a bad habit. Looking towards Humbaba, the guardian of the forest and beast of the gods, Naruto decided to seek out and defeat it. They did so with their combined strength, but Enkidu was left confused by the action. It had not been an order from the gods, and it could not have been for his people who suffered under him.
Naruto told her that it was part of purging the evils of the world to protect Uruk, but Enkidu could not understand why he would care about those he tyrannized. Naruto then explained his way of protecting humanity, causing Enkidu to fully realize the source of his isolation. Enkidu stated that Naruto took the path of observation, causing Naruto to smile in embarrassment like in his childhood and speak of it. In response to his passion, Enkidu pledged herself as a tool to the King of Uruk afterward, but Naruto reprimanded her, explaining to Enkidu that she was his friend. Enkidu believed it was the only time Naruto had ever shown relief.
In time, Naruto became the greatest and richest king on Earthland, who eventually acquired all the treasures of the world. Uruk became unprecedentedly prosperous, and Naruto was considered so powerful that even the gods could not ignore his existence. One goddess, Ishtar the goddess of fertility, even fell in love with Naruto and proposed marriage to the perfect king. He rejected her immediately because he felt her to be a witch who would be unfaithful, cruel, and the eventual corrupter of all men. She became furious, feeling that he had insulted her, and went to her father, the god Anu, to get revenge. She begged him to unleash the Bull of Heaven.
The unstoppable beast of the gods caused seven years of starvation and destruction on the earth. Working together, Naruto and Enkidu defeated it after binding it with the Chains of Heaven, causing the dark clouds covering the world to fade and saving the land from the flood. Ishtar's reputation was crushed, and her fury did not abate. She requested they be put to death for the sin of slaying a beast of the gods with the body of a human. Her request was granted, and Enkidu, created by the gods, was unable to defy the decree.
She slowly weakened and was returned to clay, as Naruto desperately held onto the crumbling clod in his arms. He was angered by this, believing that he was the one who deserved retribution should it be required. Enkidu attempted to assuage him by telling Naruto that she was only one of the many treasures in his collection, that he would find countless more greater than her in time. Naruto instead declared, "You do have worth. You alone have this worth. I hereby declare: In all this world, only one shall be my friend. Thus-not for all eternity shall this worth ever change." Enkidu returned to her original state afterward, leaving nothing behind but Naruto's thunderous cry.
Up until that point, Naruto had lived by his own standards, collecting riches, bedding women, fighting with his friend, and purging the earth of banes. Enkidu returning to dust, meeting death, greatly changed his views. Death had never inspired grief or fear in him until that moment, and it had never once even been in his mind though he knew that it awaited all. Seeing the one who held equal power to him perish before his eyes let him register the true reality of death for the first time. The despair that Naruto felt was because he saw death as an escape from his duty as the observer of humanity; in order to fulfill his mission completely, he was to observe humanity's path until its eventual end. Falling into depression and with his vigor gone, he sought out the Herb of Immortality, a spirit herb of perpetual youth and eternal life.
He had known of it even before Enkidu's passing, and had planned to obtain it eventually in order to complete his collection. With a reason to search for it, he left for the underworld. He sought out the sage, Utnapishtim, who had lived since placing a large amount of animals upon an ark before the coming of a deluge that assailed the Earth. He was said to have been the only one of the Earth to escape from death and live until the present. Naruto loathed and feared the death that took away his friend, making him frightened for his own life for the first time since birth. He went on his journey, that he later called a farce, that lasted the same amount of time as he had lived up until that point.
He wandered the wilderness for decades, as described in the epic, "grovelling along pathetically" while thinking nothing other than not wanting to die. He had the same motive as all humans, as not even a child of the gods was any different when faced with death. With "idiocy exceeding that of humans", he continued to attempt to overcome death, flinging aside the pride, authority, and power of the king, without knowing a purpose to do so or someone for whom to do it. His fear of death was one of the reasons for his actions, but he also loathed death because he could not forgive himself for abandoning his role of observing the future.
He eventually reached the realm of the dead, and found upon meeting with Utnapishtim that his form of immortality was not special at all. Utnapishtim had gained longevity by joining the ranks of the gods, half-becoming a plant in the process. Naruto rejected such an immortality because he had to be immortal with the desires of a human still intact, rather than simply living eternally in a body with no appetition. He had simply planned to leave the underworld and return to Uruk to bring his vault to completion, but Utnapishtim, having grown doubtful of having his way of existence rejected or possibly wanting to condemn one who had denied immortality from the gods to the same existence, told the demigod a secret.
He told Naruto a method of becoming immortal without seeking the mercy of the gods, the root of a herb that grew in the deep. Though he would not consume it himself, as he would only become a plant, he collected it as a rare treasure to decorate his vault. Stopping within the deep, he jarred the herb and returned above ground. Unable to put words to his state of mind at the time, there was some part of him that was hopeful even though he declared that there was no need of immortality modeled on the gods. He smiled at his accomplishment upon returning above ground, believing that he could overthrow death and avenge his friend.
With the ability to rise above the "death" that had taken even Enkidu, the voices and acclaim of the people of Uruk would have reached unprecedented level upon returning with immortality. Describing himself as being in the "rashness of youth", vanity soon followed and he became bothered by his ragged state to which he had not spared a single thought until that moment. He wished to cleanse himself before returning to Uruk to test the fruits of his labor in perfect condition, so he rested at a spring close by to recover from the fatigue accumulated over decades of searching. He experienced a certain feeling at that point that he believed to be his first true feeling of joy.
As the water healed him, he felt a peacefulness like being released from a prolonged malaise in both body and mind. It was the first time he had been so ecstatic about any of his accomplishments because the act of amassing treasures is like an instinct similar to breathing that does not bring joy to him. The action of obtaining immortality was the first time he was thankful for being born into the world because, despite claiming to have the perspective of humans, he believed he was not human until that moment. He felt free from everything, no doubts, fears, fixations, or duties. Overwhelmed by the sensation of omnipotence, he describes the feeling as élan vital, the reward of his self desire and the belief that he could do as he pleased with that joy for all eternity.
It was then that his carelessness caused it to be snatched away from him, brought down by the desires, simple appetition of "hunger", of a serpent that crawled the wilds. The snake with an empty stomach was drawn by the herb's smell, and although a panicked Naruto emerged from the spring, it was too late. The snake gained the property of shedding, having been the restoration of youth instead of immortality, and all that was left was its shed skin. He then was struck with laughter at the event, the absurdity of the conclusion in all he stood to gain and all he took pride in being "naught." He laughed at his own foolishness until his sides ached.
Though it was not that he was unable to obtain anything, he understood that his sole reward was that not one thing would remain for him. The fulfillment in life and joy that he obtained for the first time vanished instantly, causing him to realize that was the nature of the human world. Realizing that immortality was unnecessary to his duty, he had been born as a human at that moment and died as a human after learning of joy. Though he had been "complete since birth", he also had his times of inexperience. Taking nearly the entirety of his life to complete his development, he reached physical maturity in the time with Enkidu and mental maturity at that moment, marking the end of his youth.
Having laughed away the theft, the sun had risen, and smiling at the fleeting moment of human joy, he returned to Uruk. Marking the end of his adventures, he governed Uruk as its greatest ruler and brought it to completion. He later also returned to the deep to retrieve the herb once more simply to complete his collection and for the off-chance he would ever be in a situation he could only tolerate as a child. Though he was still severe, he ruled Uruk quietly, entrusting it to the next king before going to his eternal rest without telling the whereabouts of the herb. He became humanity's most ancient hero and the illustrious king who was the first in this world to have "become a story."
It is said that the snake begins its life again in a new body after shedding its skin because it stole Naruto's medicine and drank it. The way snakes went about their life appeared to the ancient people as a kind of perpetual youth and eternal life that was not available to humans.
Although he was created for a specific purpose, he did not feel contempt for being artificially manufactured life for the sake of being used by the gods, and although his every cell was designed before birth, he was born from his mother's womb like a normal human; therefore, he was both "born" and "created" at the same time. It matters not if a being is an animal or a puppet, as all life is created through the intentions of the parents. He was brought forth by predecessors like all living things, the only difference being that his predecessor was the planet, the gods. The "self", the soul, is the only naturally occurring and unique part of life, awaking to individual originality that cannot be thought of as having been created. Whether the body was manufactured or the product of reproduction, the shape of life is always brought forth by predecessors, so only the naturally occurring soul matters to him. The gods' countermeasure was correct, but it was that, being born as a new life with a new will, that he did not behave in accordance with their wishes.
While he was designed as the wedge for the gods, he became the tip of the spear that put an end to the old age. He decided upon reaching adulthood that he would not live as a king governing his people, but would instead act as a storm that reprimanded them. Ignoring the will of the gods, he ruled Uruk because it was something worthwhile. Collecting and seizing as he willed it, the nation and the people were his all for the reason of judging them. He considers humanity to be the epitome of ingenuity, but also believes it lacks a shared standard. It is for this reason that humanity continues to bring forth new advancements, and the reason that an absolute standard is indispensable. It required someone human while more than human and belonged to the gods without being a god. It would have simply taken a human to govern and a god to menace, but the gods never understood that even in the very end. To better become this absolute standard, he collected all the treasures of the world and judged the worth of humanity.
Enkidu believed that his actions, his tyranny over his people, extended from his ability to see even what the gods were unable to comprehend. His overwhelming power bred overwhelming isolation for him, but his strength of self did not allow him to abandon his kingship or flee from this mission imposed upon him. The reason that he favored isolation is that he chose that path and needed to advance down it alone. He needed to hate the gods and dislike the people while keeping the future in mind, so he needed to be isolated. The more favorably he regarded the future of humanity, the farther he had to remove himself. The only thing he stood to gain was the result of it because, being more than human, he could not interfere with the brilliant course it would bring about. He personally felt the resulting future would be quite dull, but decided to abide his decision to the end.
During his search for immortality, he was also obsessed with seeing the end of humanity. Dying would mean abandoning his role, his kingship, because he had determined to be the observer and adjudicator of the people. It was necessary to obtain an enduring body that would last until the end of the world not to see everyday contentment, but the deeds, the future of the people, and witness their end. He felt true joy for the first time upon obtaining it, but it was snatched away in an instant by the snake. This caused him to realize that was the nature of the world of humanity, that which he must observe.
He realized he could not understand that unique appeal with an undying body, realizing immortality to be nothing by the incompleteness of the common people and the dream of those who cannot face the end. He decided he had no need for it because his eyes that could foresee the future had no reason to fear death. He was able to exist in that era, unfading at that moment, and still gaze at the distant future even without experiencing the passage of time. His duty would be fulfilled as long as a hero, humanity's most ancient tale, was passed down through the ages.
The future he is able to see for humanity is that of human knowledge continuing to expand until they will be able to see even light from millions of years away. Though it would take such a long time that his body will have long rotted, it was an exhilarating sight for him, but he feels that he must have lost his drive. Having collected all that needed to be collected, he found no further joy in that era. He needed to simply depart with integrity, experiencing death as many times as necessary, time and again reviving and observing until the end of the world and the day when humanity reaches beyond his garden, the planet, to reach the end of the sky and strike its final note.
~XxX-Current Era-XxX~
A grunt filled the air as a pickax struck the ancient stone. Three years the archaeologists had been digging through old tomes, ancient scripts detailing the greatest of kingdoms, and they had finally located the place where it had resided. With proper funding and explanation to King Toma, they had begun their search for the legendary King of Heroes vault; The Gate of Babylon. While many believed it to be myth and legend as a story told to children to make them aspire to be something great, the men and women of intuition thought otherwise. It was said to a vault that contained all of mankind's ingenuity.
The desires of ancient humans were said to be similar to those of the current age, so their technology, bolstered by the powerful magic of the era, was not inferior to that of the modern age. The "Instruments of Hope" that people dreamed of were all realized, and because every single case was requisitioned by the King's hand, his collection is stated to be even furnished with airplanes and submarines. It is still sought out by some of the more bold Treasure Hunter Guilds, believed to hold all things in the world and enshrine every possible magical artifact. That within are not merely riches, but King Naruto's collection is the very "origin of human wisdom." It is the proof of human wisdom and human ingenuity. That which is missing from the vault would be items produced with completely new concepts by a new human race and items produced with extraterrestrial intelligence and technology.
If the location of even a single one of the treasures from the fabled Gate of Babylon were discovered, mankind would never cease growing in both power and ingenuity. Medicines, spells, weapons, vehicles and transportation, foods and drinks, books and tomes, it would be a boon for humanity. That alone made this search worth it. With a final swing of the tool, the ground gave way, and a hole opened up in the ground, a abyss of darkness revealing itself before her. She quickly put the digging tool down and pulled a flashlight powered by a lacrima off her belt as she switched it on.
What the redhead saw was nothing sort of incredible. It was a tomb, ancient, but intact. Pictographs line the walls detailing the history of a forgotten time. God's walked among mankind, and dragons lived in harmony with the people, demons protected the weak and unfortunate, and people were united as one, there were no wars-famine-or other ailments that would cause unrest in the population. And at the head of all this amazing history, there was a man. Tall, wrapped in gold armor that was fit for a king. He sat at the peak of a mighty temple ruling his land in a fair but firm reign of life.
Erza Scarlet was hardly a historian, but seeing as she was being paid to help excavate the dig site of what could only be a ancient kingdom of sorts, she could hardly contain herself when the ground gave way under her feet where she cried out as she fell for several feet before landing on her back, her lacrima flashlight lighting up the even darker tomb that held the greatest being to ever walk the face of Earthland. She groaned as she stood up and looked around, pausing as she laid her eyes on the sarcophagus that was carved from the finest quality of granite, lined with gold and precious stones with more images depicting the deceased's history.
She had to show the archaeologist's immediately. Taking the better part of three hours to escape her hole, she eventually found the head of the operation and it soon became a horde of excited scholars as they rushed to get their extraction equipment. Through the painstaking work of two weeks, Erza watched as the historians would pull out large slabs of stone with the images carved in them from the hole she created, and laid them out neatly before quickly working out a way to extract the sarcophagus where they rolled it out into a large clearing to be inspected.
"I-I don't believe it..." the head digger whispered in awe, "T-The legends, they're all true!" he said running his hand across the casket.
"Well, I know that your request said until something was uncovered to receive payment, but even now I find myself curious Director, but what legends are you speaking of?" Erza couldn't help but ask.
Before the man could respond, a explosion of power washed over them, bringing all in the immediate vicinity to their knees. Erza immediately felt herself being brought down to the ground, forced to bow before this unknown presence. Suddenly, light shown on the casket they had removed and she understood... there was something alive even after all these years... inside of it... There was a great presence escaping the stone of the sarcophagi, the aura it exuded was greater than anything she had ever felt before and that included any of the others of the guild. Master Makarov's, the strongest member of the guild, presence alone was enormous-more than any man's had the right to be. But this one felt like a massive wave of power crashing into her, like somehow she'd sunk deep into the bottom of the ocean with no bottom in sight.
There was no doubt about it now. Within this stone box... lay the King of Heroes, the one who possessed all things of this world… She had thought they were just digging up some old bones, never a living person who was said to unite the whole entirety of Earthland under his name. It was impossible, but yet, here it was... Suddenly the lid of the sarcophagus exploded up and into the air, a loud cloud of dirt, dust, and stone raining down around the stunned group as a hand enveloped in a gold gauntlet was placed upon the rim of the box of stone and priceless items, the sound of movement drawing their attention as the person within stood up.
A snort of contentment fills the air before a arm swipes through the air and clears the dust cloud, "What is the meaning of this?" he questions. He wears golden armor that is bulky, but covers his chest enough to protect his heart and lungs from the back while allowing for greater forward mobility, his left hand is bare while his right hand bears a golden glove. He is a dignified man with golden hair standing up like a blazing flame. His face can be described as handsome, and his eyes, crimson like blood, are visibly not those of a human and give off a mysterious radiance that makes people wither. He has a 'perfect, Golden-proportioned body' that was emanating majesty that makes the flame-like aura that is surrounding him make it seem as if his very soul glows golden. He has deep crimson tattoo's that crisscross over his body, and cross over to his back and intersect on his shoulders.
"I be placed in a bewilderment. There I were, resting peacefully. And upon a sudden, I hear an ungodly sound of someone trying to excavate my slumbering form and seize my riches for themselves..." the King stated calmly.
"K-King Naruto... h-how are you... how do you live?" one of the men asked in wonder.
The king narrowed his eyes before suddenly, a series of golden portals open around them, and a series of chains they couldn't stop if they wanted to wrapped around them and brought them to their knees by force, "I am one of the divine. More god than man I might be, but you dare to ask me why I live when you try to plunder my home for its bounty within, why should I let those who try to take what is not their own leave my presence unscathed?" the King demanded.
"K-King Naruto, please spare them!" Erza cried out, "They are scholars trying to find the history of the great King who united humanity in his time as ruler!" she called out, "If anything were to be found, the knowledge would be shared with the masses, medicine, transportation, books and scrolls for those willing to learn to better themselves!" she told the ruler of humanity.
"You dare challenge my judgement?" the king demanded, a sleuth of portals unconnected to the ones extending the chains appeared, "I am the King of Humanity, what I say is law, so anything I deem to happen is already concluded." he said as dozens of blades begun to emerge. Erza gulped nervously, she knew she couldn't hope to stop such an attack, there were dozens of portals, dozens of blades, she'd be skewered in an instant.
"Please, they mean you no harm, they only search for the history of the world to spread it's value to the rest of humanity, there is no need to skewer the innocent!" she pleaded as she escaped and summoned a blade to her hand, to defend herself more than anything.
"So, you would risk drawing a blade on your king to have me spare them? Interesting. Never before has anyone dared to stand before me begging for another's life save their own. I have mastered a thousand of my blades a thousand times and ten thousand of my swords ten thousand times. Good and bad, it dwells within all..." he told her with a shrug.
"So you are going to hold strong to your faith that you held when you ruled over the world? I see nothing wrong with that, but please, spare them, they are only teachers, historians who wish to spread the knowledge you potentially held so long ago." Erza told him.
King Naruto snorted, "In faith, there is light enough to see, but darkness enough to blind. I detest the God's but respect them. I love Humanity but loathe them all the same. It's not that I am killing out of anger or frustration, but from what you have explained they only wish to search for the history of their people, your people." the man muttered, "Very well. I shall release them, in return all of you will swear a oath of silence and reveal only what I deem worthy to be shared. Anything else will be taken to the grave." he told the excavators, "And you, Erza Scarlet, you will help me learn the ways of the modern world so that I may regain what is rightfully mine." he told the shocked redhead.
"H-How do you know my-my name?" Erza asked in shock.
"I need only gaze upon you to know your past, your present, and the future that will sway you. You are a woman of strong conviction, like my friend was when she was alive. The only reason I spare them and make them swear this oath, is because of your unwavering conviction in wanting to help others. When we leave, my city will return to my vault and remain hidden until I deem the world ready to see the glory of my home." he said as a gold glow filled the air, a massive portal filling the sky, and slowly lowering over the landscape around them, and vanished where only the people who were there in place, "Be grateful, mongrels, you were spared a most gruesome of death by the hands of the woman before you." he said as the chains vanished in particles of golden dust, "You may talk your findings and share them, but one mention of me, and I will fulfill my judgement from earlier." he said, "And before you ask, I used my abilities to gaze at what you have located so far, and it is inconsequential of what you have now."
"You are a kind King, thank you." the head archaeologist bowed as he was released.
"Don't thank me, I have no need of it." Naruto said as he turned to Erza, "Come, Erza, we leave to return to your home so I can learn the current era and its ways." he told her as he walked past her.
Power's, Abilities & Skills-
Powers-
Magic Resistance: A ability that grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether.
Presence Detection: This ability allows Naruto to become one with the World and identify anything out of place at long range. Via the Earth, he is able to sense the presence of things at long range.
Perfect Form: By making use of the Magical Energy of the land, Naruto restores himself to his true strength. So long there is a supply of magic energy from the land, Naruto's body (which was produced during the of the Age of Gods) will never collapse. A powerful regeneration & restoration ability that is completely unprecedented.
Sha Naqba Imuru: Naruto possesses a tremendously efficient Clairvoyance that allows him to discern heavily concealed truths with a single glance, making him fully capable of reading the True Name and Magic Capabilities of his opponents and he is able to guide others with the most optimal tactics. He is extremely perceptive of magecraft, allowing him to see through Zeref's fake death and tell the exact number of spells a Wizard is preparing just by looking at them. He is also capable of accurately assessing his opponents' abilities, as when he discovered Irene's ability to enchant anything she desired and utilize Dragon Slayer Magic where he easily countered her abilities afterwards.
Divinity: Being a mixed-race child bearing 2/3 divine blood and the blood of a human, Naruto possesses the power of Divinity due to not possessing true immortality rather having been born a Demigod. Even Zeref's 12 Spriggan noted that the sheer amount and purity of the Magic Energy flowing from his body seemed divine. In fact, every fiber of his muscles, and every drop of blood in his veins, is overflowing with magic power so pure it could be called divine.
Abilities-
Charisma: He is often praised as the greatest king, so his ability to command and lead great armies is excellent. His ego and self-confidence can surely boost the morale of any army led by him to an extremely high level, allowing them to gain a tremendous increase in abilities.
Golden Rule: Naruto is a being fated to a life that is filled with riches. It does not measure the percentage of gold in one's body, but the chance of attracting gold in one's life.
Battle Continuation: The ability to resume combat. Allows for Naruto to survive unless dealt a decisively fatal blow, continuing to fight even when sustaining a wound that leaves him on the verge of death, even if he receives a fatal wound or loses half of his body, for example, will keep snapping at the enemy as if he was in perfectly good health.
Skills-
Immense Magic Power: Even by Mage standards, Naruto has been noted to possess an immense amount of Magic Power which he can release as a thick, potent aura around him. People in the immediate vicinity can be brought to their knees by its power, even S-Class+ wizards, and its force can be felt at great distances. When exerted, Naruto's' Magic Power is gold in color. Naruto's Magic Power is absolutely overwhelming to the point of even members of the Wizard Saints and Spriggan 12, even the strongest male, "Magic King" August himself, being awed and sweating at his enormous power.
Expert Hand-to-Hand Combat: Living in secrecy for thousands of years, Naruto has adept prowess at the art of close combat, easily combating away the strongest wizards of Fairy Tail that opposed him simultaneously in a all out spar.
Immense Durability: Naruto has proven himself to be extremely durable, shown when he emerged completely unscathed after taking the full brunt of Natsu's Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade, (which was used to defeat an overwhelming barrage of attacks from Jellal Fernandez in the Tower of Heaven-before Naruto and Enkidu reduced it to dust in the wind) only taking a single step backwards afterward.
Immense Strength: Naruto has shown to be extremely strong, as when Jose Porla's Elemental Wizard Aria attempted to attack him, he casually threw him into the ceiling with one hand without even turning to face him. He is also shown to be able to not only move, but attack with surprising agility and strength under the influence of the effects of a incredibly powerful gravitational field, a remarkable feat as Gildarts Clive, a SS-Class Mage known for his physical prowess, wasn't even able to stand.
Gate of Babylon: is the "Golden Capital" and the "King's Treasury" of Naruto, and moreover the golden key connected to it. His main Magic Ability, it is the storehouse that Naruto built to store all the world's treasures he claimed in life, referred to as the "Divine Gate". It connects the space of reality to the vault, opening an "invisible door" between dimensions that allows for the contents to pass through upon their owner's command. Allowing for easy access to the items of the treasury, he is able to pick and utilize them as he pleases. The items passing through the gate form gold-glowing energy ripples in the empty air as they appear instantly. He can summon items directly into his hand, pull out weapons from directly behind him, or prepare numerous weapons midair, loaded like bullets.
