Side Story Chapter 4

100 Acre Wood Saga

Eeyore's Birthday & We say goodbye to Pooh for now.

Now the Hundred Acre Wood boasted many natural wonders, but none was more beautiful than a tiny stream running through the forest. The particular stream had a very long way to travel and by the time it reached the edge of the forest, the stream had grown up, so that it was almost a river, and, being grown-up, it did not run and jump and sparkle along as it used to do when it was younger, but moved more slowly. For it knew now where it was going, and it said to itself, "There is no hurry. We shall get there some day." But all the little streams higher up in the Forest went this way and that, quickly, eagerly, having so much to find out before it was too late.

There was a broad track, almost as broad as a road, leading from the Outland to the Forest, but before it could come to the Forest, it had to cross this river. So, where it crossed, there was a wooden bridge, almost as broad as a road, with wooden rails on each side of it. Christopher Robin or Ami Mizuno could just get his chin to the top rail, if he wanted to, but it was more fun to stand on the bottom rail, so that he could lean right over, and watch the river slipping slowly away beneath him. Pooh could get his chin on the bottom rail if he wanted to, but it was more fun to lie down and get his head under it, and watch the river slipping slowly away beneath him. And this was the only way in which Piglet and Roo could watch the river at all, because they were too small to reach the bottom rail. So they would lie down and watch it . .. and it slipped away very slowly, being in no hurry to get there. The Bridge was a familiar spot to Winnie the Pooh for he would often wander there doing nothing in particular, and thinking nothing in particular.

While Ami, Usagi, Rei, Ash, Makoto, the Pikachus, Raichu and Pichu, Chibiusa, Togepi, Hotaru and Minako were walking towards this bridge along with Pooh and Piglet, however on the most recent of these excursions, something took Pooh's mind off of nothing.

"This is a very good fir cone, and something ought to rhyme to it." Pooh said and he began to think. Then he thought of something "Now fir cones bone in trees up high with the buzzing bees."

"Pooh, fir cones don't belong in oak trees." Ami said "They belong on pine trees but that is a good thought."

"Thank you Ami, but this one I found down on the ground…." Pooh smiled

They had just come to the bridge; and not looking where he was going, he tripped over something, the girls, Ash and Piglet rushed over to Pooh's side as he landed on his back and and the fir-cone jerked out of his paw into the river.

"Oh Bother," said Pooh, as it floated slowly under the bridge. "I suppose I shall have to find another one."

"Are you ok, Pooh?" Ash asked which Pooh nodded

"Come on, let's get another cone." Usagi said

Pooh and the others have every attention into getting get another fir-cone which had a rhyme to it. But then he thought that he would just look at the river instead, because it was a peaceful sort of day, so he lay down and looked at it, and it slipped slowly away beneath him . .. and suddenly, there was his fir cone slipping away too.

"That's funny, I've done this before." said Pooh. "I dropped it on the other side, and it came out on this side. I wonder if it would do it again?" And he went back for some more fir cones, with Piglet, Usagi, Ash, Ami and Minako tagging along

It did. It kept on doing it. Then he dropped two in at once, and leant over the bridge to see which of them would come out first; and one of them did; but as they were both the same size, he didn't know if it was the one which he wanted to win, or the other one. So the next time he dropped one big one and one little one, and the big one came out first, which was what he had said it would do, and the little one came out last, which was what he had said it would do, so he had won twice . . . and when he went home for tea, he had won thirty-six and lost twenty-eight, which meant that he was that he had--well, you take twenty-eight from thirty-six, and that's what he was. Instead of the other way round.

"Oh this is the moment where I invented a game called PoohSticks." Pooh said

"Oh I get it! Like Stick races across the river." Minako said

"Yes, Minako, Pooh his friends used to play on the edge of the Forest. But they played with sticks instead of fir cones, because they were easier to mark." Ami informed

Now a little while later, Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit, Roo, Ami, Usagi, Ash, Pikachu, Rei, May, Makoto, Chibiusa, Minako, Pichu and Togepi were all playing Poohsticks together from the bridge. Rabbit explained the instructions of the game since our heroes never played it before.

All right," said Rabbit, " the first stick to pass all the way under the bridge wins.

They all got ready to throw their sticks into the stream.

"Now on your marks, get set... " Rabbit poused, seeing Roo hanging down closer to the water than anyone else was and knew that wouldn't do.

"Hey, Roo, what are you doing in there?" Minako asked

"Roo! We must all start together." Rabbit shouted and he puts him back on the bridge and started again

They all got ready to throw their sticks into the stream.

"Now on your marks, get set... " Rabbit said "Go!"

They all dropped their sticks down and then they had hurried across to the other side of the bridge, and now they were all leaning over the edge, waiting to see whose stick would come out first. But it was a long time coming, because the river was very lazy that day, and hardly seemed to mind if it didn't ever get there at all.

"I can see mine! I win, I win!" Roo cheered

"I can see mine!" cried Minako "Oh wait, it's a dragonfly."

"Oh…. I can see mine!" Ami said

"My stick is coming." Usagi said

"Ours too!" Makoto, Ash, Rei, Hotaru and Chibisua said

"Hey, I can see mine…." May said

"Can you see yours, Pooh?" Piglet asked

"No, I expect my stick's stuck." He replied

"They always take longer than you think," said

Rabbit.

"How long do you think they'll take?" asked Roo.

"I can see yours, Piglet," said Pooh suddenly.

"Mine's the sort of g-g-g-g-grayish one." said Piglet, not daring to lean too far over in case he fell in.

"Yes, that's what I can see. It's coming over on to my side." Makoto said

Rabbit leant over further than ever, looking for his, and Roo wriggled up and down, calling out "Come on, stick! Stick, stick, stick!" and Piglet got very excited because his was the only one which had been seen, and that meant that he was winning. "It's coming!" said Pooh.

"Are you sure it's mine?" squeaked Piglet excitedly.

"Yes, because it's grey. A big grey one. Here it comes! A very-big-grey-" May said

"N-n-no it isn't! It's...it's..." Ami gasped

And out floated Eeyore.

"Eeyore!" cried everybody.

Looking very calm, very dignified, with his legs in the air, came Eeyore from beneath the bridge.

"It's Eeyore!" cried Roo, terribly excited.

"Is that so?" said Eeyore, getting caught up by a little eddy, and turning slowly round three times. "I wondered. Don't pay any attention to me. Nobody ever does."

"I didn't know you were playing," said Roo.

"I'm not," said Eeyore.

"Eeyore, what are you doing there?" said Rabbit.

"I'll give you three guesses Rabbit." Eeyore said

"Digging holes in the ground?" Pooh asked

"Wrong."

"Leaping from branch to branch of a young oak tree?" Minako asked

"Wrong again."

"Oh, waiting for somebody to, uh, help you out of the river?" Rabbit asked

"But, Eeyore," said Piglet in distress, "what can we-I mean, how shall we-do you think if we-"

"Yes," said Eeyore. "One of those would be just the thing. Thank you, Pigket."

"He's going round and round," said Roo, much impressed.

"And why not?" said Eeyore sadly

"I can swim too," said Roo proudly.

"Not round and round," said Eeyore. "It's much more difficult. I didn't want to come swimming at all to-day," he went on, revolving slowly. "But if, when in, I decide to practise a slight circular movement from right to left-or perhaps I should say," he added, as he got into another eddy, "from left to right, just as it happens to occur to me, it is nobody's business but my own."

There was a moment's silence while everybody thought.

"I've got an idea," said Pooh at last, "but I don't suppose it's a very good one."

"I don't suppose it is either," said Eeyore.

"Go on, Pooh," said Usagi. "Let's have it."

"Well, if we threw stones and things into the river on one side of Eeyore, the stones would make waves, and the waves would wash him to the other side." "That's a very good idea," said Rabbit, and Pooh looked happy again.

"Very," said Eeyore. "When I want to be washed, Pooh, I'll let you know."

"Supposing we hit him by mistake?" said Hotaru anxiously.

"Or supposing you missed him by mistake," said Eeyore. "Think of all the possibilities, Hotaru, before you settle down to enjoy yourselves."

But Pooh had got the biggest stone he could carry, and was leaning over the bridge, while rolling it down the bridge, Ash, Ami, Rei, Usagi, Makoto, Minako, Hotaru, Chibiusa and May got out of the way in time, then Rabbit instructed the others to move out of the way too, including Ash's Pikachu, Makoto's Raichu and the girls' other Pikachus, Eeyore was still turning around in the water.

"Oh, Piglet, Piglet, give Pooh a little more room! Get back in there, Roo! Minako give Pooh more room." Rabbit instructs "l-I think a little to the left, Pooh. Uh, uh, no, to the right, yes."

"Eeyore, could you please stop turning for a moment because it ruddles me rather." Pooh asked nicely

"No," said Eeyore shaking his head. "I like especially round."

Rabbit began to feel that it was time he took command.

"Now, Pooh," he said, "when I say 'Now!' you can drop it. Eeyore, when I say 'Now!' Pooh will drop the stone."

"Ready….. set…… now!" Rabbit said

Pooh dropped his stone. There was a loud splash, and Eeyore disappeared... Pooh sighed in disappointment

"Oh dear." He sighed "I guess it wasn't such a good idea afterall."

"Don't worry, Pooh. Eeyore will be ok." Ami comforted as she places her hand on his shoulder

It was an anxious moment for the watchers on the bridge. They looked and looked... and even the sight of Piglet's stick coming out a little in front of Rabbit's didn't cheer them up as much as you would have expected. And then, just as Pooh was beginning to think that he must have chosen the wrong stone or the wrong river or the wrong day for his Idea, something grey showed for a moment by the river bank... and it got slowly bigger and bigger... and at last it was Eeyore coming, out

"There he is!" Roo called

"Come on, let's all go to him." Ash said

"Pi Pikachu."

With a shout they rushed off the bridge, and pushed and pulled at him; and soon he was standing among them again on dry land.

"Oh, Eeyore! You're all w-w-wet!" said Piglet, feeling him.

Eeyore shook himself, and asked somebody to explain to Piglet "That happens when you've been in a river a long time, Piglet."

"Well done, Pooh," said Rabbit kindly. "That was a good idea of ours."

"What was?" asked Eeyore.

"Hooshing you to the bank like that." Rei informed

"Hooshing me?" said Eeyore in surprise. "Hooshing me? You didn't think I was hooshed, did you? I dived. Pooh dropped a large stone on me, and so as not to be struck heavily on the chest, I dived and swam to the bank."

"You didn't really," whispered Piglet to Pooh, so as to comfort him.

"I didn't think I did," said Pooh anxiously.

"It's just Eeyore," said Piglet. "I thought your Idea was a very good Idea."

Pooh began to feel a little more comfortable, because when you are a Bear of Very Little Brain, and you Think of Things, you find sometimes that a Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it. And, anyhow, Eeyore was in the river, and now he wasn't, so he hadn't done any harm.

"How did you fall in, Eeyore?" asked Rabbit, as he dried him with Piglet's handkerchief.

"I didn't," said Eeyore.

"But how-" Minako asked

"I was Bounced," said Eeyore gloomily

"Oo," said Roo excitedly, "did somebody push you?"

"Somebody bounced me. But it wasn't on purpose." Eeyore said " I was thinking by the side of the river, minding my own business, when I received a loud bounce."

"Oh, Eeyore!" said everybody.

"Did this person tripped on something while bouncing?" asked Rabbit wisely.

"Who did it?" asked Pooh. Eeyore didn't answer.

"I expect it was... Tigger." said Piglet nervously.

"But, Eeyore," said Makoto,

"I didn't stop to ask, Pooh. Even at the very bottom of the river I didn't stop to say to myself I was floating away a bit faster, he tried to save me, but I floated away faster then he expected, and he followed me to save me, and said to myself, 'It's wet. ' If you know what I mean." Eeyore said

"And where was Tigger?" asked Rabbit. "I think Tigger bounced you on purpose."

Before Eeyore could answer, there was a loud noise behind them, and through the hedge came Tigger himself, and tackled Rabbit knocking him on his back.

"Heya Everyone!" Tigger greeted

"Hi, Tigger," everyone greeted

Rabbit became very important suddenly.

"Tigger, what happened just now?" Rabbit asked solemnly "When you bounced Eeyore into the river….. on purpose!"

"Oh, it was an accident." Tigger disagreed

"It was, and he didn't mean it."

"Yeah, he is telling the truth, you see when I was bouncing down the path, like I always and I…. Uh, tripped over a tree root and I knocked Eeyore into the river and I gulped….." Tigger explained "Then when started floating away, I tried to dive in to rescue donkey boy, until he floated away too fast, and I said 'Don't worry donkey-boy! I will follow you and figure out a way to save ya!' And followed him."

"That is where he didn't mean to bounce me." Eeyore agreed

"Well, That's what I call on purpose." Rabbit said sternly

"It wasn't on purpose, long ears, it was an accident." Tigger argued turning his back on Rabbit

"Indeed he tried to rescue me, but the current swooped me away." Eeyore agreed

"Accident or purpose, it's all the same with Tigger." Rabbit scoffed

"Oh no it's not!" Tigger shot back

"Uh Oh. This is making me remind me of a certain blonde and black haired girl getting into a argument." Ash gulped

"I can see that." Usagi said

"I see that Usagi is going to be a big crybaby at 9:00-4:00 on a daily basis." Rei snickered

"Hey, watch it Rei!" Usagi glared.

"Oh no…" Eeyore said

"That was an accident!" Tigger shouted

"I think it was on purpose!" Rabbit shot back

"Accident!" Tigger glared

"Purpose!" Rabbit yelled

"Accident!" Tigger shouted

Then suddenly, a couple of voices can be heard from Ash's and Makoto's, and those said voices are Misty, Verity and Setsuna and they would help out what really happened.

"Excuse me, perhaps me, Misty and Verity can help." Setsuna said

"Excuse me, perhaps me, Misty and Verity can help." Setsuna said

"Wait a second who said that?" Rabbit asked

"It's the green haired lady." Tigger said

"Setsu! You, Misty and Verity are gonna help?" Ash asked

"Sure, let's see how what really happened." Misty said

"By returning to the spot." Verity said

"Don't worry, everyone. Setsuna's very cleaver." Ami soothed

In order to find out what really happened, we'll simply return to the spot where Eeyore was thinking by the side of the river, all by himself, when suddenly Tigger was bouncing down the path as usual, when suddenly he tripped over a tree root which caused him to loose his balance of bouncing and he knocked Eeyore in the river, which caused him to float away. Tigger gulped of what happened.

"Oops, Don't worry Donkey-Boy, I'm a-Coming!" Tigger cried

But the donkey floated away a bit faster

"Don't worry donkey-boy! I will follow you and figure out a way to save ya!" Tigger declared as he bounced to find a rope to pull Eeyore out

Back at the side of the river and the bridge, Ami, Ash, Usagi, Hotaru, the Pikachus, Raichu, Pichu, Togepi, Rei, May, Makoto, Chibiusa, Minako, Pooh, Piglet, Roo saw what really happened, that Tigger and Eeyore were telling the Truth and the two starred at Rabbit while he laughed nervously and everyone else was confused and dumbfounded, then Misty, Verity and Setsuna nodded at one another.

"Looks like Tigger did bounce on accident." Misty said

"Looks like Rabbit has gotten a few screws loose." Verity giggled

"So he did tried to save Eeyore." Ash said

"Rabbit, are you sure he did it on purpose?" Ami asked

"Oh, uh well I guess my marbles are crossed." Rabbit said nervously while everyone looked at Rabbit confusingly

"Oh, boy, I guess I shall go bounce somewhere else before things really get out of hand. And it's not a red hand." Tigger sighed then he bounced away "T-T-F-N."

"Tigger can be thoughtless with his bouncing sometimes." Rei said "But this time, it wasn't deliberately."

"Why should anyone think of me? Nobody else does." Eeyore said sadly

"But why do you say that, Eeyore?" Pooh asked

"Eeyore, if there's anything we can do, we can help." Ami said

"Please tell us." Usagi begged

Without question, something was troubling Eeyore, and while his friends puzzled over his unusual behavior, Eeyore followed the stream back to his gloomy spot which became even gloomier than usual.

When Eeyore's Gloomy Spot which is at the bottom of the forest where it's boggy and sad, it became more and more gloomier then before, with a lot of rainfall, and Lilly pads, Eeyore stood by the side of the stream, and looked at himself in the water, and sighed in massive disappointment and sadness, he is more depressed this day, then he usually is.

"Pathetic," he said. "That's what it is. Pathetic."

He turned and walked slowly down the stream for twenty yards, splashed across it, and walked slowly back on the other side. Then he looked at himself in the water again.

"As I thought," he said. "No better from this side. But nobody minds. Nobody cares. Pathetic, that's what it is."

There was a crackling noise in the bracken behind him, and out came Pooh, Ami and Usagi. Who they have followed Eeyore.

"Eeyore, what's the matter?" Pooh asked

"what makes you think anything's the matter?" Eeyore asked

"You seem so sad." Ami said in a light tone

"Why should I be sad?" Eeyore asked

"You see, Eeyore we want to make you happy." Usagi said

"It's my birthday, the happiest day of the year." Eeyore said

"Your birthday?" Pooh asked

"Many happy returns, Eeyore." Ami sweetly smiled

"Happy birthday, Eeyore." Usagi said

"Of course. Can't you see all the presents?" Eeyore asked

"No." Pooh said

"Can't you see the cake, the candles, the pink sugar?" Eeyore asked

"No." Ami said

"No cake." Usagi sadly sighed

"Neither can I." Eeyore replied

"Oh. Well, many happy returns of the day, Eeyore." Pooh said

"We will throw you a wonderful birthday party." Ami said wanting to cheer Eeyore up

"We'll get you a cake. Mako can make one" Usagi said

"Thank you, Pooh, Ami, Usagi. But we can't all, and some of us don't." Eeyore sighed

"Can't all what?" Pooh asked

"Why not?" Ami and Usagi asked

"No gaiety, no song and dance, no "Here We Go 'Round the Mulberry Bush"." Eeyore said "But don't worry about me, Pooh, Ami and Usagi. Go and enjoy yourselves. I'll stay here and be miserable, with no presents, no cake, no candles."

Pooh, Ami and Usagi looked at one another, they don't want to see Eeyore miserable on his birthday, so they decided to make it very special for him

"Eeyore, we promise you that we will make your birthday very special!" Ami said

"Eeyore, wait right here." Pooh said

Then, Ami, Usagi and Pooh turned and hurried to Pooh's house as quick as they could; for they felt that they must get poor Eeyore a present of some sort at once, and Pooh could always think of a proper one afterwards, and Usagi and Ami are going to help Pooh.

Then when they got to Pooh's house, he found Piglet, jumping up and down trying to reach the knocker. Even getting an empty honey pot and standing on top to reach the knocker then, the three spoke to Piglet.

"Piglet!" Pooh, Ami and Usagi said

"Hello, Pooh! Hello, Ami! Hello, Usagi!" Piglet greeted

"What are you trying to do?" Usagi asked

"I'm trying to-" Piglet said as he fell on his back while he is knocked off the honeypot by loosing his balance "That is, I was trying to reach the kn-kn-kn-kn-knocker."

"But Piglet-" Usagi tied to Speak

"Let me do it for you," said Pooh kindly. So he reached up and knocked at the door. "I have just seen Eeyore is in a Very Sad Condition, because it's his birthday, and nobody has taken any notice of it, and he's very Gloomy—you know what Eeyore is—and there he was, and -What a long time whoever lives here is answering this door."

"B-b-b-b-but Pooh! Isn't this your house?" Piglet asked

"Oh! So it is." Pooh giggled

"Pooh's house? Usagi asked suddenly "Piglet did Owl's house get rebuilt and fixed?"

"But I thought we couldn't fix it." Ami gasped

"T-t-t-that's what I thought at first, but when his house was rebuilt he lended me back my house." Piglet said

"That is very sweet of Owl." Pooh said "Well let's all go in. Ladies first."

"Aw, thank you Pooh bear." Ami awed

"For a bear with a very little brain you are very sweet." Usagi giggled

So in they went inside of Pooh Bear's house which looks unchanged from before, Pooh explained the situation to Piglet of Eeyore's birthday and finding him a gift for him to make him very happy.

"We must get poor Eeyore a present of some sort." Pooh said then he looked around and he saw a small jar full of Honey and he got it off of the cupboard "Honey. That should do very well. What are you going to give him, Ami, Piglet and Usagi?"

"I could give Eeyore a blanket for him to keep very warm." Ami said as he got a spare blanket out of her backpack

"Maybe I could give him a YoYo." Usagi said as she got a YoYo from her pocket which is red

"Those would be very good presents." Pooh said then he turned to Piglet "What about you, Piglet?"

"Couldn't I give it too?" said Piglet. "From both of us?"

Pooh, Ami and Usagi looked confused and dumbfounded and the wouldn't be a good idea to give two of the same present from two people, Pooh was disappointed.

"No, Piglet." said Pooh shaking his head "That would not be a good plan."

"Besides, I don't think giving the same present to someone on their birthday is the best option." Ami agreed

"Perhaps I can get Eeyore a balloon." Piglet suggested getting another idea "I've got one left from my party. I'll go and get it r-r-right now."

"That, Piglet, is a very good idea. It is just what Eeyore wants to cheer him up. Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon." Pooh said

"Now let's all head to the others to inform them about Eeyore's birthday." Ami said "Then we can have a party for him."

So off Piglet trotted in one direction, and in the other direction went Pooh with his jar of honey, Ami with her spare blanket, and Usagi with her red YoYo. It was a warm day, and they had a long way to go. They hadn't gone more than half-way when a sort of funny feeling began to creep all over Pooh. It began at the tip of his nose and trickled all through him and out at the soles of his feet. It was just as if somebody inside him were saying, "Now then, Pooh, time for a little something."

"Pooh, are you sure it's a good idea to eat?" Usagi asked

"I'm not sure if Eeyore likes honey or not." Ami sighed

"Dear, dear," said Pooh, "I didn't know it was as late as that." So he sat down and took the top off his jar of honey. "Lucky I brought this with me," he thought. "Many a bear going out on a warm day like this would never have thought of bringing a little something with him." And he began to eat.

So Pooh had a little something. And then he had a little more. And a little more. While Usagi and Ami looked on with worried looks on their faces, Until he had taken his last lick from the inside of the jar, then he got up on his feet.

"Now let me see," he thought! as he took his last lick of the inside of the jar, "Where was I going? Ah, yes, Eeyore. Come on, Ami and Usa…."

And then, suddenly, he remembered. He had eaten Eeyore's birthday present! He picked up the empty jar and looked at it sadly

"Oh Bother!" said Pooh. "What shall I do? I must give him something."

"We should all go to Owl's house." Ami said

Then Ami, Usagi and Pooh saw Owl's House and it is indeed repaired it is a tree house located in the middle of The Hundred Acre Wood once more. The house can be accessed by flying (or falling from above), or by climbing very steep wooden ladder mounted on a tree. There is a very small front porch with no banisters nor railings. The house has one exterior door, a Dutch Door, with a window at the upper half. There is a small round window directly above it, with two windows for each wall, suggesting an attic.

"That is a very good idea, Ami." Pooh said

"Off to Owl's house we go." Usagi said

Then Pooh thought: "Well, it's a very nice pot, even if there's no honey in it, and if I washed it clean, and got somebody to write 'A Happy Birthday' on it, Eeyore could keep things in it, which might be Useful."

At Owl's house, Owl is getting comfortable to his fully restored house in the fully restored tree. He is now hanging a picture of one of his family members.

"Ooh, that should do it. Perfect spot." Owl said as he hears a ring in his doorbell "Yes, yes, coming!"

Then he answered the door, and he sees Ami, Usagi and Pooh in his front porch, he is very delighted to see his guests.

"Oh Good evening, Madam Ami, Madam Usagi and Pooh Bear." Owl greeted "To what do I owe this?

"Many happy returns of Eeyore's birthday, Owl!" Pooh greeted

"It's Eeyore's birthday." Ami said

"We wanted to make it very special for him." Usagi added

"Oh, is that what it was? Well come in, everyone! Come in!" Owl said delightfully

Then Ami, Usagi and Pooh entered Owl's house and they sat down on the chairs to make themselves comfortable as Owl served some tea for the three, as he begins to tell the story about his Uncle Robert as Pooh places his empty pot on the coffee table.

"You know, that reminds me of the birthday of my great uncle Robert, a portrait of whom you see upon the wall on your right. He had just reached the ripe old age of one hundred and three, although of course he'd only admit to ninety-seven. We all felt a celebration was in order. So, while my Great uncle Robert was returning in the late forenoon from the-" Owl said

"I don't want to interrupt your story Owl, but What are you giving him, Owl?" Ami interrupted

"Uh, giving who, Madam Ami?" Owl asked

"Eeyore." Pooh replied

"Oh! Eeyore!" Owl chucked "Hehe, yes, I uh-what are you three giving him?"

"I'm giving him this warm blanket." Ami said as she got a blanket out

"I'm giving him this red YoYo." Usagi said

I'm giving him a Useful Pot to Keep Things In, and I wanted to ask you….." Pooh said

"Is this it?" said Owl, taking it from the Coffee Table and looked inside as it has a little bit of Honey left and one dropped on his beak "Evidently, someone has been keeping honey in it."

"You can keep anything in it," said Pooh earnestly. "It's Very Useful like that. And I wanted to ask you—"

"You ought to write 'A Happy Birthday' on it." Owl finished the sentence

"That was what I wanted to ask you," said Pooh. "Because my spelling is Wobbly. It's good spelling but it Wobbles, and the letters get in the wrong places. Would you write 'A Happy Birthday' on it for me?"

"I can help you, Owl." Ami said sitting next to him as Owl handed her a pencil as she washed it out first and then gave it back to Owl.

Then Owl licked the end of his pencil and began to write a birthday message. Then Ami helped out by putting a little happy face on it, then when they are done, the two informed Pooh and Usagi

"All finished! What do you think of it? I kept it simple just saying "Happy birthday." Owl said

"I'm sure Eeyore will love it." Ami smiled

The pot says:

A very Happy Birthday

With Love

From Pooh.

"Yes, well, um, actually uh, of course We, uh, uh, I wrote "A very happy birthday with love from Pooh." Naturally, it takes a good deal of words to say a long thing like that!" Owl said "Madam Ami added a smiling face to make it very special."

"Oh, thank you, Owl! Eeyore will be most pleased!" Pooh said

"Oh, I do hope so! Ooh, this is so exciting! I'll fly directly over to May, Ash, Chibisua, Roo, Kanga, Rabbit, Gopher, Rei, Makoto, Minako and Hotaru to tell them the news!" Owl said as the others finished their tea and head out the door

"While you do that, Owl, Me, Pooh and Usagi are gonna head to Eeyore about the presents." Ami said

"I say, Madam Ami, good show!" Owl said as he began flying "See you three at the party!"

While all this was happening, while Owl was flying to where May, Ash, Chibisua, Roo, Kanga, Rabbit, Gopher, Rei, Makoto, Minako and Hotaru which they are at Rabbit's helping him out with his garden. Piglet had gone back to his own house to get Eeyore's balloon. He held it very tightly against himself, so that it shouldn't blow away, and he ran as fast as he could so as to get to Eeyore before Pooh did; for he thought that he would like to be the first one to give a present, just as if he had thought of it without being told by anybody. And running along, and thinking how pleased Eeyore would be, he saw Owl flying by.

"Many happy returns of Eeyore's birthday, Piglet!" Owl greeted

"Ooh, and many happy returns to you, too, Owl!" Piglet called

he didn't look where he was going... and he bumps into a tree and he and the balloon bounced all about, while Piglet was holding onto the balloon, and when it came to a halt, he sighed as it all stopped, and all this sudden…..

BANG!!!???*!!!

Piglet lay there, wondering what had happened. At first he thought that the whole world had blown up; and then he thought that perhaps only the Forest part of it had; and then he thought that perhaps only he had, and he was now alone in the moon or somewhere, and would never see Christopher Robin, Ami, Usagi, May, Rei, Ash, Makoto, Minako, Chibiusa, Hotaru, Tigger, Pooh or Eeyore again. And then he thought, "Well, even if I'm in the moon, I needn't be face downwards all the time," so he got cautiously up and looked about him.

He was still in the Forest!

"Well, that's funny," he thought. "I wonder what that bang was. I couldn't have made such a noise just falling down. And where's my balloon? And what's that small piece of damp rag doing?"

It was the balloon!

"Oh, dear!" said Piglet. "Oh dear! Oh dearie d-d-dear dear! What shall I-Who shall I- Well, it's too late now. I can't go back, and I haven't another balloon, and perhaps Eeyore doesn't like balloons so very much."

So he trotted on, rather sadly now, and down he came to the side of the stream where Eeyore was, and called out to him.

"Good afternoon, Eeyore!" shouted Piglet.

"Good afternoon, Piglet." said Eeyore. "If it is a good morning," he said. "Which I doubt," said he. "Not that it matters," he said.

"Many happy returns of the d-d-d-day," said Piglet, having now got closer.

Balancing on three legs, he began to bring his fourth leg very cautiously up to his ear. "I did this yesterday," he explained, as he fell down for the third time. "It's quite easy. It's so as I can hear better... There, that's done it! Now then, what were you saying?" He pushed his ear forward with his hoof.

"Meaning me?" My birthday? Me having a real birthday?" He asked

"Yes, Eeyore, and I've brought you a present."

Eeyore took down his right hoof from his right ear, turned round, and with great difficulty put up his left hoof.

"I must have that in the other ear," he said. "Now then."

"A present," said Piglet.

"Meaning me again My birthday still? Me going on having a real birthday?" Eeyore asked

"Yes, Eeyore, and I brought you a b-b-b-b-balloon." Piglet said

"Balloon?" said Eeyore. "You did say balloon? One of those big coloured things you blow up? Gaiety, song-and-dance, here we are and there we are?"

"Yes, but I'm afraid-oh, I'm very sorry-but when I was running-that is, uh, to bring it-I fell down and uh…." Piglet stuttered "Here it is. With—with many happy returns of the day." And he gave Eeyore the small piece of damp rag.

"Thank you, Piglet," said Eeyore. "You don't mind my asking," he went on, "but what color was this balloon when it—when it was a balloon?"

"Red." Piglet replied

"My balloon? My birthday balloon? Red-my favorite color. How big was it?" Eeyore said

"How about as big as m-m-m-me." Piglet replied

"My favorite size." Eeyore said

He was still opening his mouth to begin something, and then deciding that it wasn't any good saying that, when he heard a shout from the other side of the river, and there was Pooh, Ami and Usagi.

"Many happy returns of the day, Eeyore." called out Pooh, Ami and Usagi

"I brought you a warm blanket to keep you nice and comfy." Ami said as she gets out the present

"And I got you a red YoYo." Usagi said as Eeyore played with it.

"I brought you a little present. It's a useful pot, and it's got "A very happy birthday with love from Pooh" written on it, and it's for putting things in." Pooh said as he places the Pot on the floor.

"Like a Balloon?" Eeyore asked

"Oh, no, Eeyore," said Pooh. "Balloons are much too big to go into Pots. What you do with a balloon is, you hold the balloon "

"Not mine," said Eeyore proudly. "Look, Piglet!" And as Piglet looked sorrowfully round, Eeyore picked the balloon up with his teeth, and placed it carefully in the pot; picked it out and put it on the ground; and then picked it up again and put it carefully back.

"So it does!" said Pooh. "It goes in!"

"So it does!" said Piglet. "And it comes out!"

"Doesn't it?" said Eeyore. "It goes in and out like anything."

"I'm very glad," said Pooh happily, "that I thought of giving you a Useful Pot to put things in."

"I'm very glad," said Usagi happily, "that thought of giving you something to put in a Useful Pot."

"In a while, We shall throw you a wonderful birthday party!" Ami informed as Eeyore layed on the blanket

Then whith in no time, Ami Mizuno had made a long table out of some long pieces of wood, and they all sat round it, and to celebrate Eeyore's Birthday party Ami Mizuno sat at one end, and Eeyore sat at the other, and between them on one side were Owl, Makoto Kino, Rei Hino, Pooh and Piglet, and between them on the other side were Rabbit, Usagi Tsukino, Chibisua Tsukino Ketchum, Ash Ketchum, Minako Aino, Roo, Kanga, May and Hotaru Tome Ketchum, all Rabbit's friends and relations and Ash's, Ami's, Usagi's, Hotaru's, Chibiusa's, Makoto's, Rei's, May's and Minako's Pokemon all spread themselves about on the grass, and waited hopefully in case anybody spoke to them, or dropped anything, or asked them the time. Pooh and his friends are greeting themselves and Ash's and the girls' Pokemon. It is revealed that Makoto and Rei made a birthday cake for Eeyore.

"Many happy returns, Eeyore!" May cheered

"I hope you liked the cake me and Rei made." Makoto giggled

Then Eeyore took a deep breath and blows out the candle after making a wish.

"Hooray!" Everyone cheered

"Oh boy! Eeyore must have a great time on his birthday." Chibisua giggled

"I'm glad that we are all here for Eeyore. Ash said

"Pi Pikachu."

"Ooh, bravo! Bravo! Good show!" Owl cheered "This reminds me of the party we once gave my great uncle Robert. He had just reached the ripe old age of one hundred and three though, of course, he'd only admit to ninety-seven. So, we had to instruct the guests to pretend that he-"

"I don't want to interrupt but, aren't we missing someone?" Minako asked

"Hello!" Tigger called

"Oh no, oh no, oh no... not…." Rabbit cried

Tigger arrived and tackles and bounces Rabbit out of his seat and he greets everyone at Eeyore's birthday party.

"Tigger…." Rabbit sighed

"Hello, Tigger! We're having a Birthday party for Eeyore." Roo greeted

"We're sorry we started without you." Rei apologized

"A party?! That's ok, Rei!" Tigger chuckled "Oh boy! A party! Tiggers love parties! I hope Donkey-Boy loves the gift I made for him!"

Tigger got into his seat as the annoyed Rabbit sat down as the stripy feline wished Eeyore a happy birthday and he is about to pull the big ribbon on the tree.

"Hold it Hold it, Tigger!" Rabbit scolded "You've got a lot of nerve showing up here after what you did to Eeyore!"

"Come on, Rabbit, Tigger did it on accident!" Ash groaned "Besides he made present for Eeyore that he has been working on all day."

"Pika Pikachu!"

"Let him stay." Hotaru said

"Pretty please?" Usagi, Chibiusa and Minako begged

"Hmph! w-well, I think Tigger should….." Rabbit grumbled until his mood quickly changed "…. You made him a gift?!"

"Yeah, Long ears." Tigger said as he bounced to the ribbon "Ok, Donkey-Boy, what I made for you on your birthday….."

Tigger then pulls the ribbon from a tree. Eeyore and everyone gets surprised by what is happening and then, a house made out of oak wood planks for him lands on the ground and it revealed that Tigger has built a big house for Eeyore for his birthday.

"…. A big house for you." Tigger finished

"Seems kinda big." Eeyore said goes in and checks it out "Bit on the comfy side. Not very drafty. But I suppose I'll get used to it. Thank you Tigger."

"Your welcome, Donkey-Boy." Tigger said

"What do you think we should do now, Ami?" Pooh asked

"I think...I think we all ought to...play Pooh-sticks!" Ami declared

"PoohSticks? Oh Boy!" chuckled Tigger, and in his great excitement, resorted to his customary bouncing.

"That's what Tiggers do best!" he exclaimed, further exasperating an already grumpy Rabbit.

So they all gathered on the old wooden bridge and played the game for many contented hours, And Eeyore, who had never played it before, won more times than anybody else, Tigger won a few times since he never played before, and came in second place most of the time, and isn't bother by it. Ami, Usagi, May, Ash, Chibisua, Pikachu, Raichu, Pooh, Piglet, Roo, Kanga, Owl, Rabbit, Gopher, Rei, Makoto, Minako, Hotaru and Pichu won a few times but Eeyore won a lot of times.

"Say…. I'm getting a hang of PoohSticks." Tigger said "I learned that How to Win at Poohsticks, which you do by letting your stick drop in a twitchy sort of way."

"Hey, it's starting to get sunset. Let's all go escort or new friends back to their world." Rabbit said

But then, Pooh had a thought and it goes like this as he read a poem:

Ami, Usagi, Ash, May, Rei, Makoto, Chibisua, Minako and Hotaru are going.

At least I think he is.

Where?

Nobody knows.

But he is going-I mean they goes

(To rbyme with "knows")

Do we care?

(To rhyme with "where")

We do

Very much.

(I haven't got a rhyme for that

"is" in the second line yet.

Bother.

(Now I haven't got a rbyme for

bother. Bother.)

Those two bothers will have to rhyme with each other

Buther.

The fact is this is more difficult

than I thought, I ought-

(Very good indeed)

1 ought To begin again, But it is easier To stop.

To our new friends, good-bye,

(Good)

I

And all your friends

Sends-

I mean all your friend

Send-

(Very awkward this, it keeps going wrong)

Well, anyhow, we send

Our love

END.

it was all signed Pooh, PIGLET, WOL, EOR, RABBIT, KANGA, TIGGER & ROO

As The game of PoohSticks has finished, it was getting close to sunset, and everyone walked on, thinking of This and That, and they came to an enchanted place on the very top of the Forest called Galleons Lap, which is sixty-something trees in a circle; and both Ami Mizuno and Christopher Robin knew that it was enchanted because nobody had ever been able to count whether it was sixty-three or sixty-four, not even when he tied a piece of string round each tree after he had counted it. Being enchanted, its floor was not like the floor of the Forest, gorse and bracken and heather, but close-set grass, quiet and smooth and green. It was the only place in the Forest where you could sit down carelessly, without getting up again almost at once and looking for somewhere else. Sitting there they could see the whole world spread out until it reached the sky, and whatever there was all the world over was with them in Galleons Lap and one Big Tree has a door on it, and it was time for goodbyes. Ash, Ami, Rei, Usagi, Makoto, Chibisua, May Hotaru, Minako and their Pokémon all have to head back home to Pallet Town, but nobody else in the forest knew when they will be coming back, all they knew, that it has something to do with a championship celebration. But somehow or other everybody in the Forest felt that it was happening at last. So everyone in the forest gathered around including Rabbit's Friends and relations to say goodbye to our heroes and their Pokémon.

"I guess this is farewell?" Owl said.

"Yes it is, but we'll never forget any of you." May said.

"I certainly won't forget you." Rabbit said. "Even though I was annoyed at times."

"Well good to see the old Rabbit back." Rei giggled. "If we meet again, I'll make sure to read your fortunes for you."

"Thank you all for everything, everyone." Roo thanked But can't you stay a little longer?"

"We'd love to Roo, but we've got friends waiting for us back home." Chibiusa said. "But we're gonna miss playing with you."

"Now try not to cause too much trouble for Usagi will you?" Kanga asked.

"Don't worry Kanga, it's not like I can't handle a kid like Chibiusa and Hotaru." Usagi said with a giggle.

"Well it was nice meeting you all." Gopher said. "I'm not in the book, but I'm in this Fanficton, and I'm glad to have met all of you."

"And we're glad we got to know you too Gopher." Minako said.

"Will you come back and see us again?" Piglet asked.

"I'm sure we can come back with some more of our friends." Makoto said. "And I hope you love the lunch Me, Ashy, Rei and Ami made for all of you."

"Well it was great making new friends, and thanks for finding my tail." Eeyore said. "But it isn't fun to say goodbye."

"No problem Eeyore, we're glad that we were able to find it." Hotaru said.

"Saying goodbye is not what Tiggers do best, but I'm sure gonna miss playing with you." Tigger said as his tail flopped down in sadness.

"We're gonna miss hearing your bouncing too Tigger, 'cause you are the only one we've met." Ash said.

"Pika, Pikachu."

"Well I hope one day you can come back and see us." Pooh said. "Or maybe we can visit you."

Everyone turned to Ami as she hasn't said goodbye yet. Ami is feeling very unsure whether to leave the Hundred Acre Wood and the honey loving bear from her childhood as her eyes are watering up and she is in a urge of crying her eyes out, as she bit her lip.

"Come on, Mama Ami, you know you want to." Hotaru said

"Ami, now it's your turn to say goodbye." Ash said

"We know it's hard saying goodbye Mama Ami, but we have to go back." Chibiusa said.

"It's like when Ash and I released our Butterfrees but we're all here for you." Makoto said as her voice began breaking

"And when I had to say goodbye to Chibiusa when she went back to the future." Usagi said with her eyes are leaking

Ami then walked up to Pooh and the little yellow bear with the red shirt did the same There was a long silence, neither one of them saying a word, Ami then bit her lip, trying to hold back her tears, however she couldn't anymore and embraced the bear in a tender hug, as tears fell out of her eyes, She let loose a wail of sadness as the floodgates in her eyes opened, and The two stayed like that for a good while.

"We'll miss you, Ami." Pooh said while hugging her

"And I'll really miss you too Pooh!" Ami wailed as she couldn't hold her tears in for long "I'll never forget you!"

"But whenever you want, you can always come back into the book and visit us whenever you want too." Pooh said.

"Girls, I think we should let Ami and Pooh have their moment." Ash suggested as the others nodded

As Ami and Pooh continued to embrace one another as he wiped her tears, she then started to calm down a little and they have a conversation before they part with their respective parties, which made everyone's hearts melt.

"Pooh, what do you like doing best in the world?" Ami asked while her voice is cracking

"What I like best is me going to visit you and you saying, "How about a smackerel of honey?" Pooh replied

"I like that too. But what I like best is just doing nothing." Ami said

"How do you do just nothing?" Pooh asked

"Well, it's when the grown-ups ask" what are you going to do?" and you're saying nothing and then you go out and do it." Ami spoke tearfully "But you know something Pooh? I'm not going to do just nothing any more."

"You mean never again?" Pooh asked

"Well, not so much. Pooh, when I'm away just doing nothing will you come up here sometimes?" Ami asked tearfully

"You mean alone? Just me?" He asked

"Pooh, promise you won't forget about me, ever, Not even when I'm a hundred?" Ami asked gently

Pooh thought for a little. "How old shall I be then?" He asked

"Ninety-nine." Ami giggled

Pooh then nodded. "I promise,"

Then with one last hug, Pooh went back over to his friends, and Ash went to Ami's side they prepared to head out the door in the Big Tree to head back to Pallet Town.

"Goodbye everyone!" Pooh and his friends waved, seeing Ash and his friends enter the Big Tree.

"Goodbye Pooh Bear." Ami said sadly, as Ash placed his hand on her shoulder.

"We'll all miss them Ami." Ash said. "But like Pooh said, we can come back and visit them whenever we want. So don't think of this as goodbye forever, just think of it as goodbye until next time."

"Oh Ashy, you always know what to say to make me feel better." Ami smiled, as she kissed Ash's cheek.

The gang then entered the door in the Big Tree and were instantly transported out of Ami's storybook and Through the big tree in Pallet Town with now a big door and they see the Ketchum/Kino house, Pallet Town is ready for the Victory Party for our heroes and they went inside the house to greet the others and turn in, Ami had promised Pooh and his friends that she and her friends will return to the 100 Acre Wood. Now they can enter where whenever they want. However wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the Forest, a kind hearted Girl Genius with short blue hair and a Little Bear will always be waiting.
