In a quiet neighborhood on a sunny day, at the house of a child named Danielle, she was with her new friend, Aaron. The two kids were very close in age. They met each other just last Christmas and became really good friends since then. On this day, the little girl and boy had just got out of school for summer vacation. At the moment, they were in Dani's backyard playing together.

"I'm so glad we met, Dani," Aaron said to her.

"Me too, Aaron," said Dani. "And I'm very happy you came to play with me today."

She then paused and said, "Oh! I forgot someone!"

"Who?" asked Aaron.

The two kids gasp as they both said, "Barney the Dinosaur!"

"He's in my bedroom," said Dani, getting up. "I'll go get him."

She then said to Aaron, "Stay here, Aaron. I'll be right back."

"Okay," said Aaron.

Dani goes into the house and finds Barney in her bedroom, who was currently in his doll form.

"There you are, Barney!" she said, as she grabbed the doll.

She then goes back outside in the backyard and said to Aaron, "I found him, Aaron!"

"Great!" Aaron said happily. "Now he can play with us!"

Dani sets the doll down on the grass as the two kids continued to play together, this time with the Barney doll. But what Dani and Aaron didn't know was that two complete strangers were watching them. Hiding inside a big bush in the backyard, the Winkster and his fraternal twin sister, Winkette, were planning to play a trick on Dani and Aaron despite not knowing who they are.

"I can't wait to play a trick on those two, Winkster!" Winkette said, all excited.

"Me too, sis!" said the Winkster, all excited as well. "We haven't played tricks on anyone in a while!"

"I know!" said Winkette. "I'm so excited!"

She then said, "Wait, what are we going to do to them?"

"I think it was quickly untying their shoes while they're not looking?" the Winkster guessed.

"Oh right," said Winkette

This was when the twins spotted the Barney doll with the two little kids.

"Hey Winkster, look!" Winkette said, pointing to the doll.

"Oh! It's Barney the Dinosaur!" said the Winkster.

"Yes!" said Winkette.

She takes out her binoculars and looks closely through them as she notices that Barney was in his doll form currently.

"Oh, he's a doll right now…" said Winkette.

"That's okay, Winkette," said the Winkster. "Doll or not, Barney is always here to play."

"True," said Winkette.

"Winkette?" said the Winkster, turning to his sister. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking…?"

"What is it, Winkster?" Winkette said, looking back at her brother.

"Well…" said the Winkster.

"Come on, Winkster," said Winkette, getting closer to her. "Tell me. Tell your twin sister what you're thinking about."

"Well, I will ask you a question first," said the Winkster. "Do you want to play with Barney today, Winkette?"

"Yes!" said Winkette, with a smile. "Yes I do!"

"Then what do you say we take him from the kids?" the Winkster suggested.

"That's a great idea!" said Winkette, liking the idea. "Then we can play with him and have him to ourselves!"

She looks at the Winkster and asks him, "Can I be the one to take him?"

"You think you can do it, sis?" the Winkster wondered.

"Winkster, you're the one who does the most tricks," Winkette reminded her twin brother, then hugging his arm and saying, "Can I do it this time? Please…?"

"Well…" said the Winkster. "Okay, you can do the trick this time."

"Yay!" said Winkette, looking at the doll. "I got this!"

But when she tries to jump out of the bush quickly, the Winkster stopped her.

"Hold it, Winkette!" said the Winkster, pulling his sister back into the bush.

"What's the matter?" Winkette asked.

"Have you forgot the rules about playing a trick or joke on something in this way?" the Winkster asked her.

"Umm..." Winkette said, as she started to think. "Hmmm…I have to be both quiet and quick so I don't get caught?"

"What else?" the Winkster asked, testing his sister.

"Only hide if the targets turn to your direction?" Winkette guessed.

"That's right," said the Winkster, then noticing Dani and Aaron weren't looking at the doll and said to Winkette, "Now's your chance, sis."

"Oh boy!" cried Winkette. "Here I go! Wish me luck, brother!"

"Good luck, sis!" cried the Winkster.

Winkette got out of the bush and quietly headed towards the Barney doll. But when Dani and Aaron looked in her direction, Winkette quickly hid behind a tree without making a sound. Then when the two kids looked away, Winkette came out of her hiding spot and quickly snatched the Barney doll and ran fast back into the bush with it. The kids didn't hear or see her at all.

"I got him, Winkster!" Winkette cried happily, while showing the Winkster the Barney doll and hugging it.

"Great job, Winkette!" said the Winkster. "Now let's get out of here before the two kids suspect us."

"Right!" Winkette agreed. "Let's go home."

The Winkster and Winkette quickly got out of the bush and ran back home with the Barney doll now in their possession. And once the twins were out of sight, Dani and Aaron began to notice that the Barney doll was missing.

"Hey!" Dani said. "Barney's missing!"

"Where did he go?!" Aaron asked.

"Did he come to life and walked somewhere?" Dani wondered.

"Dani, if he came to life," Aaron said to Dani, "we would've heard him and his footsteps."

"That's true," said Dani, as she stands up. "We better go find him. Come on, Aaron!"

"Right with you, Dani!" Aaron said, following his friend from behind."

Meanwhile, in the house of the Winkster and Winkette, the brother and sister went into their shared bedroom since they wanted to play with the Barney doll there.

"I got him!" Winkette cried, dancing around with the Barney doll in her arms. "I actually got him! Yippee!"

She looks at the Winkster and said to him, "How did I do, Winkster?"

"You did great, Winkette!" the Winkster said.

"You really think so?" Winkette said.

"Yeah!" said the Winkster. "You did a really good job at playing the trick on the kids."

"Gee thanks, Winkster!" said Winkette.

Winkette then suddenly started to feel down.

"What's wrong, sis?" the Winkster asked her. "Aren't you happy that you succeeded?"

"Yes I am," said Winkette, then saying as she sighs sadly, "I just wish I was good at playing tricks and jokes like you...You're so much better than me when it comes to that..."

"Come on, Winkette," said the Winkster, putting his hand on his sister's shoulder. "Look on the bright side. You've improved so much over the years. I think you're doing much better at playing tricks and jokes now than you did when we were little kids."

"Thanks I guess..." Winkette said, with a frown. "Why does everyone have to be better than me? Especially YOU..."

The Winkster senses that his twin sister might be feeling something else since she was now starting to compare herself to him and others in a very negative way.

"Winkette?" the Winkster said. "Are you jealous?"

Winkette ignores him.

"Winkette?" said the Winkster, trying to get his twin's attention. "Yoo hoo!"

"What...?" Winkette said quietly.

"Is my twin sister..." the Winkster said, as he gets closer to her, "...jealous...?"

Winkette groans as she said, "Alright Winkster, you win. I am in fact jealous...Jealous indeed..."

"But why…?" asked the Winkster.

"Because I don't like that I'm not as good at playing pranks on people like you are," said Winkette. "Why are you so much better than me at that, Winkster? It's not fair…"

"It takes time to become good at something, Winkette," said the Winkster. "And it takes a lot of practice and effort."

"Says the one who was very good at pulling things off right away after first starting…" Winkette mumbled.

The Winkster just looked at his twin sister and didn't say anything.

"Winkster, we're twins," said Winkette. "We should be on the same level on everything. I really don't know why we're not…"

"Everyone is different, Winkette," said the Winkster. "We're not all the same, you know."

"I just wish I was better at playing tricks and jokes…" said Winkette, with a sigh. "I feel like I'm very below you when it comes to that…"

"Well, like I said, you need to practice," said the Winkster.

The Winkster puts the Barney doll in front of Winkette as he said to her, "Will playing with Barney make you feel better, sis…?"

Winkette gently pushes the doll away and turns her back on her twin brother.

"Leave me alone…" she said, all annoyed.

"Hey Winkette," the Winkster said, starting to imitate Barney's voice. "Oh Winkette?

"Winkster…" said Winkette.

"No, it's me, Barney," the Winkster said in Barney's voice. "Your purple dinosaur friend. Want to play with me today?"

"Nuh uh…" said Winkette, shaking her head.

"We can always play a game of pretend, you know," the Winkster said, continuing to talk like Barney.

Winkette turns slightly to look at her brother and says, "Then maybe you can pretend that I'm actually playing with you and the Winkster."

The Winkster was shocked at this since this was very unlike his twin sister. He had something to say to that as he switches back to his regular voice.

"Winkette, I'm surprised at you…!" said the Winkster.

"Huh?" said Winkette, all confused. "What are you surprised about?"

"Usually you like playing with Barney…" said the Winkster.

"I know," said Winkette. "And today's not that day."

"Come on…" the Winkster said. "Where's my twin sister that I know who likes to have fun all the time…?"

"Alright fine!" Winkette said all irritated. "If you want to have fun, then you'll get fun."

Winkette quickly covers her brother's eyes with one hand and snatches the Barney doll with the other hand as she runs off with the toy. Because the doll was snatched out of his hands, and that the two would often argue about who wanted to play with Barney, the Winkster wasn't happy about this at all.

"Hey!" the Winkster shouted.

"You gotta catch me first!" Winkette cried, running with the Barney doll.

The Winkster starts running after his sister all around the house. But in just seconds, Winkette wasn't in sight. The Winkster thought he lost her. This baffled him because usually he's able to catch his sister fast due to his ability to disappear and reappear in different spots very quickly, something that he sometimes forgets that his twin sister shares with him.

"How can my sister outrun me?" the Winkster asked himself as he looks under the kitchen table. "This is unbelievable! She can't do that! Can she…?"

Winkette was behind the Winkster as she tapped his shoulder three times and shouted, "Ta ta!" before running off again with the Barney doll.

"Come back here!" the Winkster shouted, as he continued to chase his sister.

"You can't catch me!" Winkette taunted as she keep running. "You can't catch me! Hehehe!"

"Oh yes I can, Winkette!" the Winkster replied. "Just remember I'm quick as a wink!"

Winkette stops in the middle of the hallway, turns towards the Winkster, and blows a hard raspberry at him as she started to run with the Barney doll in her hands yet again.

"Na na na na naaaa naaaaaaaa!" Winkette taunted again.

"I'm gonna get you for this, Winkette!" the Winkster said. "Just watch!"

As the chase went on, Winkette sees the front hall closet and runs over to it. When she notices that her brother wasn't in sight, she opened the door and quickly threw the Barney doll into the closet as she closed it. But when Winkette was about to start running again, the Winkster catches up to his sister as he immediately corners her. Winkette gasps as she realizes she can't escape now.

"Got ya!" the Winkster said.

"Heh…Hi Winkster…" said Winkette, with a small sweat.

"Alright, now hand him over," the Winkster said, with his hand out. "Your little game is over."

"Who?" said Winkette.

"Winkette, you know who I'm talking about," said the Winkster.

The Winkster then sees that his sister's hands were behind her back. Because of this, and that he didn't know that the Barney doll was currently in the front hall closet, he thinks Winkette was hiding the toy behind her back.

"Winkette," the Winkster said. "Give him to me."

"I don't have him," said Winkette.

The Winkster didn't believe her.

"Winkette, I know you're lying…" he said. "Show me your hands!"

Because she didn't have the Barney doll on her, Winkette listened without hesitation. She put both her hands in front of her and her brother, revealing them to be empty.

"Oh…" said the Winkster. "Well, if you don't have Barney, then you must've hid him…"

"No I didn't," Winkette lied.

The Winkster was not fooled.

"Winkette, where did you hide Barney…?" he asked.

"I don't know," Winkette lied again.

"Winkette, you know where Barney is…" said the Winkster. "You better tell me the truth right now."

He sees that his sister wasn't listening as well as her giggling a bit.

"Winkette, this isn't funny!" said Winkster, getting annoyed. "Winkette!"

"Nuh uh!" Winkette said, shaking her head.

Since Winkette wasn't cooperating, the Winkster was starting to lose his patience.

"Winkette…!" he shouted.

"Yes…" said Winkette.

"Where is Barney…?!" the Winkster asked again.

"Do I know a Barney?" Winkette said, thinking this was a funny game.

"Winkette, don't play dumb!" the Winkster said. "Where is he?!"

"Why don't you go look for him?" Winkette said to him.

"That's what I'm doing!" said the Winkster.

"Then keep looking!" said Winkette.

Suddenly, the two heard a loud thump coming from the closet, which startled them both.

"Winkster, what was that…?" Winkette asked.

"I don't know…" said the Winkster.

The two look at the front hall closet.

"It must've came from the closet," the Winkster said.

"You think something fell?" Winkette wondered. "It was a loud thump…"

"Maybe…" said the Winkster.

"Can you go first?" Winkette asked.

"Sure," said the Winkster.

The Winkster opens the closet door and walks in to look around. But it was very dark in the closet, and there was a lot of stuff inside. So he had to be careful not to run into anything.

"Winkster?" Winkette called out to her brother, as she takes a peek into the closet. "Winkster? Winkster! Hey Winkster, you find anything? Make sure you don't bump into anythi-"

Winkette sees something thrown at her and does a loud, yet short, "AAAH!"

It was a big spider plush toy from last Halloween. While still in the closet, the Winkster threw it at his twin sister in an attempt to scare her. Hearing his sister scream, the Winkster saw that his little prank worked as he walked out of the closet laughing.

"Winkster!" Winkette shouted, looking straight at her twin.

"What?" the Winkster said, continuing to laugh.

"You really need to stop scaring me all the time…" Winkette said, throws the spider prop back at the Winkster as the man catches it.

"Sorry sis," said the Winkster, with a chuckle. "I thought it would be funny! And it was! Ha ha ha!"

"But you didn't think my little trick where I ran off with Barney was funny…" Winkette said.

"Well, that's because you snatched him right out of my hands," the Winkster reminded her.

"So?" Winkette said.

"So?!" said the Winkster. "That's not very nice, Winkette! You could've waited until I put the doll down first!"

"Oh…" said Winkette, hearing her brother's tone of voice. "So what I did was rude?"

"Yes!" said the Winkster. "It was very rude!"

Winkette frowns as she said, "I'm sorry..."

"I forgive you…" said the Winkster.

"Thanks..." said Winkette. "By the way, did you find out what made that loud thump sound a few minutes ago?"

"No, I got sidetracked by that spider plush from last Halloween that I used to prank you just now," said the Winkster. "But I'll go check again."

He looks at Winkette and asked her, "Want to come with me, sis?"

"Uhhh..." Winkette said nervously. You know the closet is dark, right...?"

"And?" said the Winkster, then pauses and says, "Wait, are you afraid of the dark, Winkette?"

Winkette sees that her twin brother forgot one of her childhood fears that she never outgrew.

"Winkster, why do you think I have my nightlight on in our bedroom whenever I go to sleep?" Winkette reminded him.

"Oh right..." said the Winkster, feeling bad for forgetting.

He saw how nervous his sister was as he said to her, "It's okay, Winkette. You can hold my hand if that makes you feel better."

Winkette smiles as she grabs her brother's hand.

"Good," the Winkster said, smiling back.

The two go into the closet together hand in hand to figure out what the loud thump sound came from. And while they were looking around, the Winkster found the lightbulb hanging from the ceiling as he pulled the string. But the minute he turned the light on, the Winkster and Winkette saw a face with big eyes right in front of them. It was Barney! The loud thump came from him when the purple dinosaur was coming to life in the closet a couple of minutes prior. But since the twins were caught off guard as they didn't except this, the brother and sister were jumpscared as they screamed at the top of their lungs.

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" the twins screamed loudly.

The Winkster and Winkette looked closer as they noticed that in front of them was Barney and that he had come to life as his real dinosaur self.

"Barney!" the twins said.

"Hi Winkster!" Barney said to them. "Hi Winkette! Long time no see!"

"Hi Barney!" said Winkster. "Nice to see you again! Whoo hoo hoo hoo!"

"Yeah!" said Winkette. "Hehehe!"

"Sorry I scared you two…" said Barney, feeling bad.

"It's okay, Barney," said the Winkster, hugging him. "You didn't mean to."

He then looks at Winkette and said to her, "So this is where you hid Barney, huh sis…?"

"Uhhh…" Winkette said, starting to sweat nervously.

"Winkette..." the Winkster said, looking straight at her. "Tell the truth..."

"But Winkster…" said Winkette.

"No buts!" said the Winkster.

"Aah!" Winkette cried, jumping a bit. "Okay…I hid Barney in here, the front hall closet."

"I knew it!" the Winkster cried.

Winkette covers her face in shame.

"What's the story?" Barney asked.

"Well, you see, Barney…" said the Winkster. "Two kids nearby were playing with you when you were still a doll. So my sister and I wanted to play a trick on them by taking you and playing with you ourselves. Or rather my sister stole you from the kids."

"It was your idea!" said Winkette.

"You wanted do it!" said the Winkster.

"But you didn't want me to do it!" said Winkette.

"But I let you do the trick in the end!" said the Winkster.

"You were hesitant!" said Winkette.

"Not until you started begging like a little girl!" said the Winkster.

Barney saw that this was turning into an argument between the twins as he whistles to try to get their attention. The Winkster and Winkette looked at Barney as they both went quiet.

"Now wait a minute!" said Barney. "Arguing will not solve this."

"Sorry Barney…" the Winkster and Winkette said.

"My sister and I took you from two kids," said the Winkster. "I suggested the plan, while Winkette did the snatching."

"So the both of you are the reason why I'm in your closet and not where I should be," said Barney.

"Yes…" said the Winkster and Winkette. "We both did it…"

"I see," said Barney.

"You want my sister and I to give you back to the kids, don't you…?" said the Winkster.

"Yes Winkster," said Barney.

"But I want to play with you, Barney…" said Winkette. "Do we have to give you back to them…?"

"Yes Winkette," said Barney. "When you take something, you should return it. It's the right thing to do."

"I wonder who that little girl and little boy are," said the Winkster, then saying to Winkette, "Hey, since we're going to meet the kids because we're going to give Barney back to them, this might be a good opportunity for you and I to make new friends, Winkette."

"Ehhh…" said Winkette, with a nervous look on her face.

"What's the matter?" asked the Winkster.

"What if they don't like me…?" Winkette wondered in worry.

"I'm sure they'll love you, Winkette," said Barney.

"Yeah, they might like you, sis," said the Winkster.

"But what do I have to offer, Winkster?" Winkette said to the Winkster. "Certainly not our tricks and jokes…"

"You got plenty to offer," said the Winkster. "I know you do."

"Winkster…" said Winkette.

"It's worth a try," said the Winkster.

"Mmmm…" said Winkette, nervously.

"Just give the kids a chance, Winkette," said the Winkster. "Besides, maybe they'll see something in you that they'll both really like."

"Well…Okay, I'll give it a try," said Winkette, then saying to her brother, "Winkster? Can I hold your hand? You know I'm shy when it comes to meeting new people…And I could use some emotional support…"

"Of course, sis," said the Winkster.

The two holds hands.

"Thank you…" said Winkette, with a little smile.

"I'm always here for you…" the Winkster said, smiling back.

After walking out of the closet, Barney, the Winkster, and Winkette headed over to Dani's house to not only return the dinosaur to her and Aaron, but also to have the two kids and the twin brother and sister meet each other.
