Saiyan Arrival
Four alien space pods fly through space at great speeds, passing by neighboring planets and nearby suns. The white pods eventually spotted a large pure black world, it somewhat blended in with the surrounding "space" but it was still noticeable. The planet is a forest world, covered in lush vegetation all colored a charcoal black. One would think they were blanketed in ash if the sky wasn't so clear. No, this is the natural color of the plant life which is what gives the planet its unique color. Despite being a planet mostly populated by forests there are multiple areas covered by large cities and small towns.
The local Toru people populated these cities, a bipedal mammalian race that are covered in black fur, they resemble earth bears but are a bit smaller. The cities were busy, morning shoppers and locals making their daily commute to work were everywhere. Today however things were busier than normal. The local police force, Toru policemen sporting more armor than normal, patrolled the skies of the city at a double pace. Flying in the air with the usage of Ki, a universal power system acknowledged throughout the known galaxy. They have been at this for the past couple months.
No one knew why they were so active today; crime was at an all-time low and they generally held friendly relations with neighboring planetary governments. Nonetheless the civilian populace went about their day blissfully unaware of what was coming. The Four Space Pods soon entered Prune's atmosphere, handling planetary re-entry without any malfunctions to be seen. The inhabitants of the city mistook the pods for asteroids, but they soon doubted that assessment when said asteroids split off from one another, moving too deliberately to be mere space rocks. Two of them split from the main group heading in two different directions while the remaining two stuck together and remained on course with the city below.
Two officers look up at the falling pods as they get uncomfortably close. One officer grabs his communicator and talks into it, he speaks in a tone of urgency, "A pair of flying objects are headed for area C, evacuate the area immediately!" The officers begin to scramble but the call comes in too late and the two Pods smash into the center of the city, not slowing down for anything. One Pod smashed through a building curving its descent until it smashed into a street carving its way down it until the pod stopped at a park while the other pod smashed through three large buildings eventually stopping partway into a fourth structure.
The officer calls in the situation and after a couple minutes of deliberation from their superiors they give out new orders. Five officers arrive at the crash site with a Police Lieutenant as well as a Sergeant arriving a minute later, there to take command of the situation. They immediately start calling in medical personnel and tending to the survivors while evacuating everyone else. The police investigate the cause of the damages in the meantime and discover two large white pods. The Sargent takes three officers and investigates the pod up in the building. The Lieutenant on the other hand takes the remaining two to examine the pod on the ground. They landed on the destroyed street, following the massive streak it created upon hitting the ground.
The pods were slightly larger than an adult male and had a red circular window in the front of it. It also had a thin black line that circled the front of the pod which stretched out onto the bottom of the pod. The officers assumed it was a projectile, a bomb that hadn't gone off yet but upon closer inspection they began to doubt that assessment. They guessed it could be an escape pod but given its size, it didn't look like it could hold more than a single person.
This was strange, why would an escape pod only be able to transport a single individual, it would be inefficient for the job of an escape craft, perhaps it was meant for a VIP's or maybe it was a bomb after all. The Sergeant worried the Pod could have done enough damage to cause the building to collapse and orders the officers to move the pod. Admittedly a bad move but given the mystery of the pod, doing nothing was not an option. If it was indeed a bomb then that would cause more damages, even if it wasn't a bomb they would lose the pod in that scenario, who knows if it could survive a falling building. The Lieutenant ordered the officers to examine the pod on the ground, a closer inspection could reveal what it really was.
Right when the officers in the sky were grabbing a hold of the pod in the building and the officers on the ground began to circle the pod, both objects let out a high pitched shriek as air was visibly released from the edges of the front of the pod. The officers immediately backed away, worrying that the "bomb" was about to go off. The Lieutenant and the Sergeant ordered their men to them. The ground officers stood close to the left and right of the Sergeant while the officers in the sky were three feet to the left and to the right of the Lieutenant.
They all kept their arm cannons to their side supporting them with their other hand wanting them to be ready for whatever was going to happen next. Suddenly the front of the pod peeled forward, opening wide as the window leaned forward until it came to a stop at the feet of the pod. Now the individuals inside of both pods were revealed to be sitting on a single white cushioned seat which rested inside the pod. With the mystery revealed the Sergeant immediately barked an order, "Step out of the pod!" At the same time, he aimed his arm-cannon at the new individual.
It may be extreme to treat the individual with hostility however the pods did crash through everything in their path causing a great deal of damage to the city and its citizens. His officers did the same following the example of the Sergeant. The Sergeant then said, "You were not permitted to land in this public sector, if you do not comply, we will treat you as a hostile force and react accordingly!" His fellow officers did the same, pointing their arm-cannons at the two newcomers. The aliens didn't respond and remained glued to their chairs, further stressing the men in front of them. Soon however both individuals complied, stepping out of their pods, closing them afterwards with a small remote controller.
The officers took a step or two backwards, trying to stay out of reach of the aliens just in case one of them tried to grab them. The alien inside the upper pod floated in the air while the alien on the ground level stood on the ground a couple steps in front of their pod with his arms crossed. They evidently possessed a similar mastery of ki as the officers did. Now the police had a clear look at the aliens before them. They were humanoid in appearance but unlike their own people these individuals only had black hair on their heads as well as having black eyebrows.
They also had a brown monkey tail, the alien in the sky let his tail wave freely in the wind while the other wrapped his tail around his waist like a belt. They had a light skin pigment, and they were tall, broad muscular men who clearly were familiar with combat given they both wore battle armor. They wore the same set of sleeveless, light brown surrounding black combat vests which had brown shoulder pads which slightly extended above their shoulders pointing to their left and right. This pattern was the same for their battle skirts which covered the front, back and sides of their lower region being a foot below their armored short shorts. This same color pattern was the same with their fingerless gauntlets and lace less boots.
They also wore a white and green device on their left ear that covered their left eye with a green visor with several yellow markings flashing over it, constantly changing as the alien looked at the officers and their surroundings. While the floating warrior had a red armband wrapped around his left arm, the other alien wore a matching one around his left leg. Both individuals had black hair and black eyes but the warrior on the ground's hair was long and unkempt, extending all the way down to the back of his knees. The man in the sky however had somewhat short messy hair which spiked out in every direction.
Both of them held dead serious expressions which did little to relax the armed officers. The officers didn't like what they saw. The best case scenario was that they were survivors of a destroyed military ship but several details about the aliens only made them more worried. Their impressive physique and armor made it obvious that they were soldiers, which fit with the idea they had about the aliens but the specifics of their spacecraft was troubling. The fact their pods were one-seaters was strange, why would a military escape pod or any space pod in general only seat one person? They looked like standard soldiers, their armor didn't have metals or any distinguishing design features that would make clear that either of them were a general or some sort of commander.
Assuming the aliens' culture was similar to their own, they didn't have the look or attitude of a military VIP. A terrifying thought crossed the sergeant's mind but he shook his head hoping he was overthinking things. The sergeant let out a nervous breath and questioned the aliens hoping their suspicions were unfounded, "What is the reason for your arrival?" Neither alien responds at first. Instead they glanced at each other but then the individual on the ground, rolled his eyes and made a motion with his left hand after which returning it to his folded posture.
The alien in the sky looked at the Sergeant in front of him and spoke in a menacing, gruff voice, "We are warriors of the Freeza Empire, we are here ta' clear you lot' out and sell this planet to some other race." All the officer's faces lose their color and then shift to a more serious expression. The sergeant's suspicions were proven correct. It makes some sense if they were being invaded but even then, the fact the pods only house a single individual is troubling. Why send so few forces to conquer a planet? A few possibilities shoot through the Sergeant's mind. Being low on warriors or their empire's forces being stretched thin, or being overconfident in their military strength but the scariest example pops into his mind. Could the invaders be so strong they only need to bring so few in order to overtake their military forces?
What's most puzzling is the honesty of the invader in front of them. "Most invaders would have attacked already, i-is there a reason you are being upfront with us?" says the sergeant in a shaky voice. He hopes this is the invaders way to open up negotiations, if so they could at least buy time to contact the Prune Defense Force. The planet's official military force is much better suited for this kind of scenario than police officers. His hopes were dashed when the invader said, "We have already begun our attack, I just thought it would be fair to tell ya' what you're up against."
The alien then formed a deep scowl and spoke in a menacing voice, "After all, after today you're all going to die, you at least deserve to know who's killing you." He spoke as if the fate of their people was a foregone conclusion and the combination of the fact he mentioned that they have already begun their attack along with the presence of the other flying objects created a clear picture to the sergeant. He took his left hand to his side and subtly made a hand gesture to the officers behind him. He closed his fingers together and spread them out slowly. His subordinates knew immediately what he was trying to tell them. The hand gesture he made was a sort of greeting that citizens used when greeting Prune Defense Force Soldiers.
Their hands would mimic the growth of the local trees of Prune. These trees were the symbol of the Prune Defense Force. The sergeant was signaling for them to discreetly call the Prune Defense Force for reinforcements. Given the fact the invaders haven't reacted when he did this, they obviously haven't caught on yet. The three officers in the air eye each other, only for one of them to pull on their own collar with their free hand. To them this was confirmation on who would be calling backup but to an outside perspective it would look like an officer trying to calm themselves while under a stressful situation.
The Sergeant locked eyes with the alien in front of him and said, "Ya know, for the past couple months our patrols have ramped up, more officers have been sent out per patrol and we were even issued emergency gear, as you can see." The invader looked confused, "Why the hell are ya tellin' me this?" The sergeant ignored him, continuing with, "We've even been told to hover over the city, instead of patrolling the streets as if they were expecting something big to happen soon." He let out a quick chuckle and said, "I guess they were right." The alien arched his brow and folded his arm while saying, "How the hell would you lot know we were comin'? You were clueless a solid five minutes ago."
The sergeant thought to himself, "That's right, focus on me, on my words." The alien below eyed the sergeant with suspicion. "Why would he suddenly start giving us information? He was panicking over our arrival a short while ago. What could have changed?" The alien murmured to himself. His thoughts ran through several possible explanations but he eventually realized why. He thought to himself, "He's stalling, but for what reason? His men haven't made a move…unless." Suddenly his eye fell on one of the officers to the right of the sergeant. The officer laid his left hand onto his left ab fiddling with a small communicator strapped to the stomach of his armor. "I won't be able to get away with a call for backup but If I send our coordinates instead…"
Before he could finish his thought or press another button on his communicator he was suddenly assaulted by a searing pain which engulfed his whole body. Before he could even realize what was happening to him his body dropped to the ground, motionless. The sergeant and his surviving officers looked down to see his body which had been burnt to a crisp in an instant. The sergeant laid his eyes down toward the killer and saw the second invader pointing his right open palm at them, his lips curved into a sly smirk. "And they thought they were being sneaky, pathetic." said Raditz in a tone of satisfaction.
The sergeant's eyes were filled with rage however his anger was soon overshadowed by the rage seeping from the invader in front of him. He looked down at his comrade and yelled out with venom in his voice, "What the hell Raditz, how dare you pull off such a cowardly move!" His fists were clenched and glued to his side. The Invader named Raditz flinched for a moment before giving his ally a stern if a bit nervous expression and yelling back, "Don't be fooled Kakarot, they were trying to call for help!" The invader named Kakarot looked back at the officers, surprised by their deception. Raditz, realizing he got through to Kakarot and then said, "The one you were talking to was keeping you distracted so his flunky could call in backup."
Kakarot's surprised expression twisted into a stern look which he turned toward the sergeant, "So that was your plan, you mustn't be feeling very confident if you thought numbers could save you." The sergeant had a panicked look, he's been found out and it cost him an officer. Raditz's expression relaxed as he dropped his arms to his sides. He thought to himself, "Damn, I can't remember the last time he got that angry at me." Raditz worried that if he hadn't chosen the right words then Kakarot might have acted against him.
Raditz shook the thought out of his head and he soon spread his arms wide while clenching his fists while pulling his elbows to his sides. "Kakarot, I think we've delayed long enough. If we don't get to work soon Vegeta will give us a scolding." Kakarot scoffed in response and replied in a sarcastic voice, "Well we wouldn't wanna get yelled at by "prince" high and mighty, now would we?" Raditz let out a short chuckle and then said with a wry smile, "No we wouldn't, let's get started." Before Raditz could make his move the Lieutenant angrily said, "If you think Prune will fall to a mere pair of hairless apes, then you're severely underestimating the Toru people's will to survive!"
Raditz stopped, dropped his battle stance and began to cackle loudly angering the Lieutenant in front of him. "Why…why are you laughing!" Raditz only continued finding something the Lieutenant said hilarious. Having had enough of the alien's laughter he fires a single ki blast at Raditz who stops the blast with his right hand not even leaving a single scratch on him. Raditz, not being fazed by the attack, crosses his arms and says with an arrogant tone in his voice, "I thought it would be clear by now but it seems you all are much slower than I gave you credit for." Kakarot chimed in with a disapproving look on his face, "Saiyan invasions nowadays don't rely on a single warrior, our Saiyan squad has four members."
As if on cue a massive explosion is seen about a hundred miles from their position. The resulting shockwave shakes the city they are in. Kakarot unbothered by the explosion says, "and the scariest part is they're even stronger than the two of us."
