Chapter 1: The Rainbow Guardian

[Location: Musutafu City – Residential Area]

[Time: 8:24am]

Loud rock music could be heard throughout the neighbourhood. Even though it was in the early hours of the day, most people in the area were already awake and well accustomed to the free wake-up call the music gave. Sometimes multiple intruments from various musicians across the neighbourhood could be heard, all playing in harmony. Guitars, drums, bass, even some piano and violins join the orchestra on occasions. Everyone just loves it.

This particular music, if you were too far away from the source, could be traced to an open window of a house, many of the neighbours nearby knows the musician personally, as this guitarist inside is usually the one who starts to play and for all the other musicians would join in.

If anyone would look through the window, they would see a teenage girl around the age of 14, playing her electric guitar, wearing her new school uniform and her favourite Wonderbolt theme headphones on her pony ears. Her quirk was called pegasus, giving her the body and traits of a pegasus/human hybrid. She had wings, a rainbow coloured pony tail, with her mane matching the colour scheme, light blue fur like her mother's, hooves for her feet and a short muzzle.

Her room was decorated with your typical teenage tomboy like herself. Posters and merch of rock stars, metal bands and her favourite heroes plastered around every corner of her room, especially american heroes like her favourite hero team, "The Wonderbolts". Other heroes she had were your typical favourite Japanese heroes; like All Might and Miruko, and she also had many figurines, comic books and games, but also an exercise kit full of dumbbells.

["Rainbow! Stop playing your guitar and get ready! You'll be late for school again!"] A gruff, voice called in English from the other side of her bedroom door, but the loud music she was playing drowned out whoever was calling her from the other side.

Her door swung open, almost coming off its hinges, revealing her father with an angry face, but she was too focused on playing with her guitar, but she stopped when no music wasn't playing anymore. She looked around, then shrinking on herself when she saw her father's angry and dissapointed look, holding the plug to her guitar in his hands.

"You're going to be late, Rainbow! Please tell me you're at least packed?" Her father, Bow Hothoof, a large and burly man with stubble and short rainbow hair like his daughter's mane, asked, hoping his daughter spent half her time packing and not slacking off.

Rainbow usually wouldn't be this intimidated, but her father's quirk, "Electric Battery" made her shiver under her father's gaze as small bolts of electricity sparked and arcked around him. Rainbow's gaze locked onto her bag, her father following the gaze, seeing it half packed and unzipped, various contents scattered around it and spilling out. Before she could get scolded or possibly shocked by her father, she used her superspeed she inherited from her mother's quirk to pack all her stuff in her bag in seconds, wearing it on her back.

Bow Hothoof sighed in annoyance, "Don't think this means you'll get out of any punishments Rainbow. You need to take school seriously. If you don't, you won't be able to get into UA. Understand?" Bow Hothoof scoulded his daughter, using his electricity to intimidate his daughter more.

"Sorry dad. You know I'm not that great at keeping track of time." Rainbow apologised, seeing how upset her father was from his frown, but it isn't like she can help her tendansies to lose track of time.

Rainbow's quirk, just like her mother's, grantes her super speed, but for her to react at the speeds she can run at, all her brain's activities and processes increases drastically, but one negative side effect is her perception of time after any amoujt of time using her increased speed. Her body isn't affected, but her mind is servealy warped by the time dilation, causing her and her mother by extention, to percieve time differently than others during their recovery time, like objects moving slower, faster, or just not moving at all.

"That is no excuse. Your mother is able to work around it, and so can you. Use reminders, alarms and try to get into a schedule. We keep telling you that." He offered, but allowed his daughter to run down the stairs so she can get to school quicker.

When she passed her dad, she felt a small amount of electricity pass from him to her, but she hid her surprise from her father, as she flew down the stairs using the railings and she saw her mother near the bottom of the stairs. They embraced each other in a quick hug, Bow watching from the top of the stairs with a smile of his chiseled jawline..

"Hello, Rainbow. I hope you got everything, because I am not running all the way down there because you forgot a pencil." Her mum, Windy Whistle, who's quirk is almost the exact same as her daughter's, only her fur was a softer shade of light blue and her mane and tail was a light red with peach orange highlights mixed in.

"Don't worry. I checked 3 times already." Rainbow said confidently, but she saw her mother raise her brow, but her smile told her it was in a teasing manner.

"You said that last year." She teased, seeing the small blush of embarrassment on her daughter.

["Mum!"] That was one time!" Rainbow cried, angry that her mother was laughing at her embrassement, she accidentally slipped english for a second.

"And it was one time too many." She replied, as she handed Rainbow her lunch, which Rainbow almost forgot to make, again.

"I packed a little extra to compensate for the long run you'll be taking today." Windy Whistle explained, dropping the box into Rainbow's hands.

Rainbow took less then a second to pack her lunch into her back and hugged her mum, thanking her. Her father came from behind and ruffled her hair, saying she should go now before she is late for her first day back to school, again.

"Alright, I'll see the both of you later. [Love you!"] Rainbow said, dashing to the door and once she finished speaking, she was already down the streets, a trail of dust left in her wake.

"Y'know, she is a lot like you when you were her age." Bow Hothoof said to his wife, belly laughing at the sweet memories of their youth.

"Oh please, I wasn't that bad at remembering things." Windy scoffed, waving her hand in front of herself.

"Maybe, but what about all those dates you were late to, or the time when you were 20 minutes late to our own wedding? I thought you moved on, you almost broke my own heart." Bow said with mocked sadness, untill he was swatted by his wife, saying he isn't any better, reminding him the many times he shocked her and overcharged her quirk, he gives her enough energy to travel across the world for multiple hours.

Bow cackled, but his mind went straight to a senario of his daughter harnessing electricity like he does, but at a much higher degree. He shudders at the thought, his wife already knowing what he was thinking. She assured him that senario will never happen, as she may be able to conduct electricity like him, she won't be able to use it because her body isn't wired to harness that large amount of electricity, or has the symptons of having a second quirk. Bow understood, saying it is hard to get the thought out of his head. Windy Whistle agreed, but she knew it was better to spend their alone time on something more, productive.~

[Location: Musutafu – Downtown]

[Time: 8:31am]

Rainbow ran through the city, hoping she could get to school before homeroom started. Unfortunately, in her rush, she was pushing her speed a little too much, which put her under the radars of the local heroes, so she was startled when a voice called out from behind her.

"Hey, kid! Slow down! You're not supposed to use your quirk in public!" Rainbow looked behind her to see Kamui Woods and a few other heroes behind him, swinging from lampposts and jumping from rooftops to catch up to her.

Rainbow didn't want to get into trouble, so her underdeveloped teenager brain thought of a brilliant idea to run even faster, so she wouldn't get caught. When she increased her speed, her body turned into a rainbow blur, leaving a streak of rainbow behind her as she ran at speeds she never ran at before. But because she was pushing herself beyond what she could handle, her mind wasn't able to catch up in time, so when she came to a turn, Rainbow couldn't react quick enough and she ran straight into a brick wall, smashing right through it like it was made of paper.

[Unknown Amount of Time Passed]

Rainbow's vision was blurry and her head felt woozy and dizzy. She never knew running into a brick wall would be so painful. When her vision was slowly coming back, the sounds around her she didn't register before started to hit her head like a bunch of daggers stabbing at her brain, along with the realisation of what she just did.

(["Oh crap! I'm in so much trouble."]) Rainbow thought in her head, as she stubbonly ignored the pain in her body and crawled out the rubble she created.

When she stepped out, dozens of people surrounded her, along with a handful of heroes. The heroes approached her, asking if she was okay, rather focusing on her injuries instead of her illegal quirk usage. Thankfully for her, she was being patched up by medical personnel and was asked about her quirk. She explained what it was and what abilities she has. The heroes and police, after a few minutes of discussion, decided to let her go, her injuries not to serious and letting her offence go as a stern warning that will be punish if she is caught repeating it.

"Also, your parents will be notified of your actions, so I would like for you to give me their names and their numbers." The officer who was interviewing her, explained, causing Rainbow's headache to worsen and her body to stiffen up.

If Rainbow thought her day couldn't get any worse, it just did. Her father was strict, but his fury was nothing in comparison to her mother's, especially during their training sessions, and she knew very well that training will become a lot more brutal when she gets home. When she gets home, she already gave up the idea of even having any sort of devices in her room for the next month.

Once Rainbow was finally done with the questioning, she looked at her phone to see the time, groaning in frustration, seeing the time was 8:43. There was no way she could get to school on time now. Even if she went as fast as she did before and can actually control herself, she would just be a few minutes late.

"Hey kid, what school do you go to?" Rainbow looked up to see Kamui Woods standing in front of her.

"Um, Aldera middle school? Why?" Rainbow said, raising an eyebrow and tilting her head.

"Well no wonder you were rushing! You were going to be late for your first day, weren't you?" He asked, getting a gruntle nod from the teenage Pegasus.

"Yeah, and even if I was able to get away, I don't think I would've gotten there in time." Rainbow pouted, crossing her arms in frustration.

Kamui Woods then got an idea, as he bent down to Rainbow and asked her if she wants to ride on his back as he takes her to school personally. Rainbow eyes widen in shock, the hero seeing the joy and excitement in those sparkly orbs.

"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh! Yes, yes, yes yes! That would be totally awesome!" Rainbow yelled, as a few people stared at the excited girl in confusion.

Kamui Woods didn't need to be told twice, as he let her jump onto his back, as he waved his colleagues goodbye, letting them know where he was taking Rainbow before leaving the scene. Using his ability to grow and exstend his wooden arms, he pull his and Rainbow's weights forwards, launching them high into the air as Kamui Woods continue this motion like he did when he was chasing Rainbow.

"Woo hoo! Yeah! Hahaha!" Rainbow yelled with happiness, feeling the wind blow through her fur and feathers.

"Never felt so alive before, huh?!" Kamui asked, getting a cheer from the rambunctious pegasus.

"Mum never let's me fly this high, so this is the highest I will ever be once I become a hero and get my license!" Rainbow yelled, intriguing Kamui.

"You want to become a hero?! Then why the hell did you do that stunt earlier?! If I were you, I wouldn't harm my reputation at such an early age!" Kamui asked, lying to himself that he wouldn't do the same thing as she did at her age.

"Hey, I'm a stupid teenager who desires freedom and independence over being controlled and contained! Can you really blame me?!" She shouted, mockingly.

Kamui Woods rolled his eyes at the girl, but under his wooden mask he had a smile, knowing full well she was somewhat right. Even after what he just said, he was what his parents would call, a difficult child. He barely had any control over his quirk, so when it went out of control; especially when he had tantrums, his father, a large man with a beard worthy enough to match the norse gods themselves, who can produce chainsaw blades from his arms, had to literally cut his way through to him to have his mother calm him down, usually using a sweet sap she can produce from her mouth. It was weird when she did it public so she had to store some back up sap for future tantrums. Now she sells the sap online and to many of their neighbours. Questionable, I know.

[Location: Aldera Middle School]

[Time: 8:49am]

Kamui Woods and Rainbow landed outside of Aldera's gate, with various late students, parents and bystanders watching in awe at their arrival. Rainbow can already hear the rumors that will spread because of this, feeling her headache worsening.

"Alright kid, we're here! Time for you to head to class before you're late." Kamui said, letting Rainbow jump off of his back.

["Thanks mate!] That was totally awesome!" She cheered, raising both her arms upwards, hands into fists.

Kamui says he is used to it, but he is always happy to put a smile on someone's face. He told her to quickly hurry, before she is late for class. Rainbow's eyes widen in panic, takingboff with breakneck speeds, but not before waving off the hero goodbye, leaving a cloud of dust and sand when she left.

("Teenagers.") Kamui shook his wooden head, but his felt the atmosphere fill with dread, when he heard the familiar, yet exhausting noiofs of camera shutters and questioning shouting.

He looked back to see a bunch of reporters and photographers reaching his location. He didn't know how he was followed by a large crowd so quickly, but he didn't want to stay ans get crowded, so he latched onto the side of a building, and swung his way out of the situation.

[Location: UA Highschool]

[Time: 8:50am]

Shotoa Aizawa; known as Eraserhead, was drinking his morning coffee, ready to start his miserable day when he felt a chill crawl up his spine. Hizashi Yamada, known as present mic, also the secret husband of Aizawa, noticed his sudden shiver and asked if he was alright. All he got from Aizawa was a annoyed groan under his capture scarf.

"Damn vultures." Yamada knew who he was talking about, but was confused why he suddenly brought them up of all people, when neither of them was looking at the news, as they were writing up lesson plans.

He rolled his eyes, used to his husband's antics, as Eraserhead was used to his own.

[Location: Aldera Middle School]

[Time: 8:51am]

Rainbow made it to her classroom door, but she checked her watch and saw she was a minute late. She groaned, annoyed that she was so close to making it this time.

["Fuck! I can't keep doing this! First the bruck wall, now being late for class! Why must the universebdeem me of all people to fuck with?!"] Rainbow yelled with all her might to the universe, the angry scowl on her face parting anyone around her away from her, if her strange behaviour and sudden yelling didn't do that.

Rainbow was about to open the door, when she heard a sudden roar of cheering from the other side. Curious, she swung the door open, but this caused everyone in the room to go silence and look towards her. She could see they were expressing their quirks. Some cool, some weird and some that was just plain disgusting and creepy.

"Dash, you are 2 minutes late. You better have a good reason for being late!" The teacher asked, his stern tone matching the glare he had towards the blue pegasus.

"Um, well, I lost track of time. I kind of gotten into an accident on the way to school." Rainbow said, trying to not bring up the fact she was taken to school by a pro hero.

"Whatever. Sit down so I can continue class." The teacher said, so Rainbow walked to her seat somewhere in the middle of the room.

Rainbow took her time to take in her surroundings, seeing if there was anything interesting to look at while she drowned out her teacher's voice, and her eyes went straight to a green hair boy who seemed to be very, very shy. Keeping himself stuck in his notebook, not focusing on anything except his book.

"Oi, teach!" A voice suddenly shouted, gaining Rainbow's and the whole class's attention.

"Don't lump me in with all of these extras! Only I will become a hero among these losers!" A boy with ash blonde hair, proclaimed with all his bravado, and Rainbow can already tell she won't be getting along with him any time soon.

The whole class started to roar in protest, as they flung insults and accusations at him, but he seemed to not care, keeping his cocky grin plastered over his ugly face.

Rainbow was curious about something, and she looked to the green hair boy to her left. Watching him lower his head to his desk, snd then covering himself with his arms, Rainbow could tell he wasn't a fan of the blonde, seemingly scared of the blonde boy. What that reason was seemed obvious, but she had this nagging feeling the answer is a lot more complicated.

"Oh yeah, Bakugou. You applied for UA, didn't you." The teacher said, shocking everyone in the class.

(["Oh, you got to be fucking kidding me!"]) Rainbow mentally screamed, as she strained her fake smile, dragging her nails across her desk from the thought of a boy like Bakugou become a hero with his not so great personality and ego bugger than her dad's electron supply. (Yes, she knows a little physics, sue her.)

Rainbow watch the Pomeranian praise himself about his perfect grades and about him getting perfect scores on the SAT's; even though it wasn't that hard to begin with, this school was full of idiots from what the reports she found when picking schools. Rainbow rolled her eyes and almost audibly groaned in annoyance.

"Oh, and it says here that Dash and Midoriya also applied for UA." The teacher said, causing the classroom to go silent.

"Hey, what the fuck! That's private information! You can't just say things like that out loud!" Rainbow roared at her teacher, slamming her desk it nearly broke under her strength.

The teacher didn't respond to her, going back to the papers in his hands, but Rainbow had better things to deal with, as Bakugou was now in front of her and greenie. So he must be Midoriya, fitting.

"What the hell do you think the two of you are doing applying for UA? I'm the only one in this backwater school that will be going to UA! So you better go drop out before I make you! Especially you Deku, you have no right becoming a hero you bastard!" He threatened, cracking his knuckles.

Rainbow raised one of her eyebrows, but was holding back her anger at the insult and threat Bakugou threw at Midoriya. She wasn't an idiot, and knew what Deku meant, so she stood up from her chair; letting out a calm sigh, stood infront of Midoriya and glared at Bakugou, compared to his, her's was more firm.

"No." She said simply, causing the whole class to shuffle away from them, expecting the whole class to explode.

"What did you say to me, pidgeon?" Bakugou questioned, shocked that someone besides Deku has the gaul to stand up to him.

"You heard me. I'd said no. I already sent in the application weeks ago, so I can't really take it back." She explains, seeing a small twitch from Bakugou's eye, which told her he was nothing but a horrible bully who can take what he dishes out.

"So you think you're better than me?! That you can stand on the same level as me?! Your quirk doesn't even look strong. You're just an overgrown pidgeon trying to fly with the big leagues like me!" Bakugou yelled, small pops coming from his palms.

(["Of course the one with the biggest ego is also trigger happy with their quirk. [Fantastic!"]) Rainbow mentally groaned, already feeling the bruises she would get from fights she will have with this blonde in the future.

"K...kacchan, please, don't make a scene. I don't thinkg she means to..." The green hair boy came up to them, trying to calm the situation down, but he was cut off with a...

*BOOM*

"Shut it Deku! Wait your turn! Once I'm finish with her, it'll be you who will be cowering under my feet! So go drag your useless ass back to your desk and be a good nerd and wait your turn!" Bakugou hurled his palm at the boy, an explosion erupting on contact, knocking Midoriya to the floor.

Rainbow eyes widen in rage and fury, as she watched Midoriya fall to the ground, a giant red mark in the shape of the blonde's hand leaving itself on his left cheek. Small sparks emminated from her body, her anger reaching heights she never felt before. She had so much built up aggression to blow off, and she has the perfect target to blow that steam off. The blonde didn't seem to be flustered, seemingly wanting to fight her, wanting show hebwas better than her. It pissed her off even more, and with great speed, she launched a quick punched to the brat's face.

"THAT'S ENOUGH!!!" The teacher yelled at the top of his lungs, grabbing all the student's attention and stopping Rainbow from connecting his fists into his boy's face, a small gust of wind blowing passed his face yet he seemed unfazed by it.

"Rainbow Dash! You are disrupting class to the point I cannot teach! You have two options to choose, either sit down and stay silent, or get after school detention for the rest of the semester!" He demanded, as his attention went to Midoriya.

"And Midoriya. Go clean youself up before the smell lingers. I don't want my class to smell like smoke. And make it quick!" He spat, angering Rainbow even more.

("Selfish prick.") She thought, already wanting to cave in her teacher's face with a clean thunder punch, but she knew she had to hold in her tongue, and stomped to her desk, her anger building up even more.

Rainbow thought about ignoring her teacher's order and help take Midoriya to the bathroom, but she knew she would be punished if she tried, and she had the feeling Midoriya would be pulled down with her, and she didn't want to do that to him.

She felt so heartless to watch Midoriya slump away, holding his left cheek that had a very red mark in the shape of Bakugou's hand, soot covering the edges of the mark. She decided to bide her time to show that arrogant brat that hurting others isn't right.

[Location: Aldera Middle School]

[Time: 3:02pm]

It was the end of the day, and Rainbow could finally sigh in relief, now that math class is over. She dragged all her belongings into her bag, books, pens, pencils, her ruler, rubbers, and even some pieces of paper she doodled on to pass the time.

(["Now that math's over, I should go talk with Midoriya, see if he is okay."]) Rainbow decided, walking up to talk with him.

Before she did, she zipped up her bag and noticed it was only her, Midoriya, Bakugou, and two more students left in class. She made sure to stay on guard, just in case any of them tried something they'll regret, especially Bakugou.

"Hey, Midoriya!" Rainbow called out, getting Midoriya to jump in his seat, while she watched from the corner of her eye, seeing silently watching them.

He looked to his right to see Rainbow sitting on her desk, giving him a big smile.

"U...umm, y...y...yes?" Midoriya replied, being very startled from being called out.

"How are you? Are you okay? Does the burn still hurt?" Rainbow asked, and she saw his eyes widen.

"What?" Midoriya whispered, barely audible to Rainbow, who hasn't stopped smiling at him.

Midoriya was utterly confused. Why was she asking him if he was okay. Doesn't she know he's quirkless, a useless nobody. Maybe she doesn't know, but Kacchan would probably tell her and she will abandon her when she learns the truth.

"What you got there?" Rainbow asked, pointing at the notebook she noticed in Midoriya's hands.

"O...oh this? It's just a silly notebook I write notes in about heroes I see in public. It's nothing special." Midoriya said, believing his silly hobby of analysing quirks wasn't anything special or worth reading.

"Can I see it?" Rainbow asked, holding her hand out for Midoriya to put his notebook in.

Midoriya felt a little happy that someone had taken interest in his notebooks. But that happiness died down when he thought about her disappointment when she inevitably reads it and says it was horrible. That response is always the reason he never shows his notebooks to anyone, not even Kacchan. But for some reason, her smiles made him feel warm and... safe, almost making him forget those horrible thoughts from before

"Umm, s... sure. It's n... not much, really." Midoriya said, handing his notebook to Rainbow, his face sightly red as he was looking away in embarrassment.

"Thanks." Rainbow said cheerfully, as she read the front of the notebook.

"Hero Analysis For The Future No.13"

Rainbow looked through only a few pages, yet her eyes widened from the high level of detail in each page and how awesomely written they were. With how Midoriya was talking about it, she wasn't expecting this level of detail and craftmenship inside it.

"Holy crap Midoriya! You wrote all of this?!" Rainbow asked, causing Midoriya to blush even more.

"Y... yeah, but it's nothing, r... really." Midoriya said, waving Rainbow's compliment off.

"Midoriya, this is amazing! I could never make something this detailed! This can really help you become a hero! Are you applying for the hero course in UA?" Rainbow said, causing a small explosion to erupt in the room, which soured the entire mood, causing her build up anger to come to forefront once more.

"Like hell he is!" Bakugou roared, jumping off his seat.

"Beat it, Pomeranian! You have nothing to do with this!" Rainbow said, glaring at the explosive teen.

"This does concern me, especially when you're both looking down on me, thinking you both can become heroes!" Bakugou roared, but Rainbow didn't flintch, but she saw Midoriya shiver in his seat.

"I am the only one in this shitty school that will become a hero, and I will not let my backstory be ruined, by an overgrown pidgeon and a worthless quirkless Deku!" Bakugou yelled in Rainbow's face, an explosion erupted at the end of the sentence.

Rainbow's eyes widen, her shock from the knowledge that Midoriya is quirkless. Bakugou smirked a little, happy to see he got through to her from her quick reaction alone, believing he had separaded the pidgeon from Deku.

"Wait, quirkless? What does that have to do with anything?" Rainbow asked, surprising everyone in the room.

"Umm, what? You know what quirkless means, right?" One of the other teens in the room asked, and Rainbow nodded.

"Then you should know that it is impossible for someone to become a hero without a quirk. Midoriya will just be killing himself before he even becomes one." He said again, but Rainbow scoffed.

"You're kidding me, right. 20% of humanity is quirkless and I can count dozens of heroes who don't have a quirk across the world. And I believe Midoriya can become a hero because he is smart enough to handle any challenge thrown at him!" Rainbow ranted, shocking the trio and surprising Midoriya.

"You can't be serious, a quirkless hero?! Please, no such thing exists." Bakugou scoffed, laughing at the bothing someone without powers fighting villain with powers.

"Three of the top 10 heroes in america are quirkless! If you can't come to the reality that being a hero is more than some flashy power and beating up villains, then you're all lost causes!" Rainbow said as she hopped off her desk.

Rainbow kept her sight on Bakugou, as she handed Midoriya notebook back. Midoriya grabbed his notebook, but when Rainbow's hands left the book, Bakugou snatched it away and quickly read through it.

"Hey, give that back! Midoriya didn't give you permission to read it!" Rainbow demanded, ready to sucker punch him for the notebook back.

Midoriya asked for his book back as well and felt hopeful when Bakugou closed the book and looked at him. Bakugou turned to Rainbow for a few seconds till he gave her a smile, a smile she didn't like. Small sparks appeared from the palm holding Midoriya's notebook. Rainbow realised what he was going to do, so she jumped into action. Bakugou let off an explosion, watching Midoriya yell in fright, but when he looked back to see his handywork, he realised the notebook was no longer in his hand.

"What the hell?" Bakugou asked to himself, when he heard the pidgeon speak up, but was confused when her voice came from behind him.

"You know, I would love to knock your lights out, but I really need to get back home. C'mon, Midoriya, we're leaving." Everyone turned to see Rainbow behind them, but she payed no mind to them, walking past with Midoriya's notebook in hand.

Midoriya was shocked at the sheer speed Rainbow was capable of, so be reminded himself to ask about her quirk later. For now, he focused on grabbing his bag and leaving before Bakugou could grab him. When Midoriya reached Rainbow's side, both walked out of the classroom and headed for the front doors of the school.

Bakugou gritted his teeth, his anger seething from every pore in his body. He felt humiliated, absolutely weak. If it was just Deku, he could get away with hurting him, but he wasn't an idiot. If he attacked her, she wouldn't hesitate to fight back, drawing the attention of the teachers, risking the both of them getting detention or expelled, but the teachers wouldn't go that far with him, would they? He was the best they had, and they would do anything to keep it that way.

"Holy crap, she faster than any of us gave her credit for!" One of Katsuki's friends, said, shocked at Rainbow's sheer speed, like Midoriya was, reffering to Rainbow talking about her quirk after the drama in homeroom.

"Yeah. I wonder how someone can be late with speed like that?" The other friend said, falbergasted that she of all people was late to class.

What neither of the friends realised, their little chat was making their resident blonde Pomeranian even angrier.

"Would you too shut it already! I don't want to hear anymore shit about them!" Bakugou yelled, causing his friends to step back a little.

"Woah, sorry dude. Didn't mean to make you upset." One of them said, stepping back.

"Yeah, sorry man. Why don't we make it up and go to the arcade, you can try and best that pink freak at DDR again." The other suggested, which Bakugou scoffed.

"Tch, fine. Not like I have anything better to do." Bakugou said, walking out of class with his friends.

He tried to look for Deku among the crowd, but even with his famous green mop of hair and the slightly taller blue Pegasus, they didn't stand out from the ever growing crowd. He scoffed and left, telling himself he'll get another opportunity tomorrow.

[Location: Musutafu Downtown]

[Time: 3:12]

Midoriya and Rainbow was walking down a unpopulated stretch road near the school. Their walk so far has been very silent, neither of them knew how to start a conversation with the other. Thankfully for Midoriya, Rainbow was the one to break their silence.

"So, how are you feeling? Still feel a little sore from boom boom's slap this morning?" Rainbow asked, but Midoriya flinched at the mention of his injury.

"U...um, I...I uh, no, not anymore. It just stings a little. I kind of gotten used to it anyway, so it's nothing." Shit, why did he say that? Now she will be worried about him even more, ans he didn't want her to worry about him.

"Used to it? What the hell! You shouldn't be used to being blown up in the face!" Rainbow exclaimed, horrified that Midoriya is used to the physical abuse.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have told you. Maybe I should go, so that I won't worry you anymore." Midoriya said, walking off faster, trying to separate himself from Rainbow.

"Woah, hold on there, mop head, who said I shouldn't worry about you? We're friends, right? It is the job of friends to worry about each other" Rainbow said, stepping in front of Midoriya's path.

Midoriya's eyes widen, not expecting to be called someone's friend.

"Y... you think I...I'm your f...friend?" Midoriya stuttered, almost believing this was some cruel joke planned by Rainbow, expecting someone to pop out with a camera.

"Of course! We may have just met today, but it doesn't stop us from becoming friends. We always have to start somewhere." Rainbow said, pumping her chest.

Midoriya recognised this gesture from Bakugou when he praised himself, but he could tell this was different, but he couldn't tell how. Just that it was different.

"Why don't we introduce ourselves properly." Rainbow offered, stretching her hand out to Midoriya.

"The name's Rainbow Dash! My favourite things are heroes, music, and anything awsome. My favourite hero is the Wonderbolt Team from america and my favourite food is pasta and potato sandwiches, preferably on sourdough bread." Rainbow introduced herself, telling Midoriya many of her favourites things.

Midoriya's eyes sparkled, saying he also like heroes, but Rainbow didn't expect the boy to spiral into a muttering spree. She smiled at how adorable Midoriya was being, but sweat drop from how fast he was talking, she barely caught every 3rd word he spoke.

["Bloody hell, what have I gotten myself into?"] Rainbow asked in English, though she still had an amused smile on her face.

Rainbow snapped her fingers in front of Midoriya, breaking him out of his mutter spree. Midoriya apologises for his rudeness, but Rainbow brushes it off, saying it was nothing. Midoriya was shocked, but shook his head as Rainbow encouraged him to introduce himself and tell her all his favourite things. Midoriya blushed but nodded, clearing his throat.

"I'm Izuku Midoriya. I also like heroes, but I also like studying, writing about hero's and their quirks and my mum. My favourite hero is All Might, the number one hero and my favourite food is Katsudon." Midoriya said proudly, his smile as bright as the sun itself.

"There we go, that's the spirit!" Rainbow said, ruffling Midoriya's birds nest of a hair.

With their moods lifted, they carried on walking, Midoriya asking various questions about her quirk and things she knows. Midoriya the asked Rainbow a question.

"Umm, Dash-san, can I..." Midoriya spoke up, but Rainbow stopped him.

"Please, call me Rainbow. And no honorifics. I grew up in England for the first 10 years of my life, so you can call me by my first name, I won't mind." Rainbow said, but she saw the hesitant look on Midoriya.

"A...are you s...sure?" Midoriya asked, worried that he may upset her, even though she said she wouldn't.

"Of course. I was given a name to be called, right. I won't get upset, don't worry." Rainbow assured, her smile soothing Midoriya out of his anxiety.

"O...okay, Rainbow-san." Midoriya said, Rainbow rolling her eyes at the honorific, but she wouldn't pressure Midoriya too much.

["Baby steps I guess"] She said under her breath.

"I wanted to know why you're name is called Rainbow, as it's really not a common name, so..." He trailed off, but Rainbow walked slightly ahead of him, pointing at her mane with a big smile.

Midoriya felt stupid for asking that question, but Rainbow said it was okay, as he was actually curious unlike a few nasty bullies she had. Midoriya was shocked Rainbow had bullies, with how out going she was, he expected she would be quite popular, but Rainbow said they stopped bullying her when she started fighting back. Midoriya was kinda surprised, but after some thinking, he understood why. Most bullies are all bark and no bite, and when it comes to an actual fight, they always cower under the pressure.

Finally, they reached an underpass, where Rainbow and Midoriya had to split off to head to their respective homes. Rainbow said it was nice to meet him, offering him her number to stay in contact. Midoriya became flustered, as his stress and anxiety of today had covered up the fact he was hanging out with a girl. A girl that was more boyish, but a girl non the less. And when she offered her phone number to him, that's when his mind caught up, unable to cover up his large blush.

"S...sure, n...n...no prob...blem." Midoriya shakily took his phone out and allowed Rainbow to put in her number, naming her contact in Midoriya's phone, R.D with a rainbow emoji, while hers said Green Bean with an amoji of green beans and a book.

Midoriya blushed at the name she gave him, but he was too embarrassed to say anything as she waved him goodbye, hoping him a happy afternoon. Midoriya waved back and felt a little happier that, for once, he has friend. An actually friend. He didn't care that she was a girl, she actually cared for him and he was happy for it. She even believes he can become a hero, even without a quirk. Midoriya turned to the underpass, walking through it, but he didn't know that his day would be flipped on its head too many times for him to count.

In Rainbow's mind, when she was walking up the stairs, she promised herself and Midoriya she will protect him at all cost, not because he was quirkless, but because she was his friend, and she will protect any and all her friends.
