Chapter 2: Morning Routines and Picnic in the Park.

7 years later…

One morning, Dylan woke up and rose from his bed to see the sun shining brightly outside. He threw off his covers and ran out into the hallway.

"All right! Today's the day!" Dylan said as he ran to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

Eddie came out of the bedroom, all dressed.

"Good morning, Dylan!" Eddie said.

"Morning, Dad!" Dylan said as he tossed his father his deodorant.

"You ready for today?" Eddie asked.

"You bet I am!" Dylan said before he dressed and ran downstairs, where Anne was cooking breakfast.

"Good morning, Dylan!" Anne said.

"Good morning, Mom!" Dylan said as he took a seat at the table. Anne then served him a plate of pancakes.

"Ready for our family picnic?" Anne asked.

"Yeah!" Dylan said.

Eddie then came downstairs, "Morning, my lovely wife!" he said.

"Good morning, Eddie!" Anne said before she served him pancakes and set her plate down.

"Maple syrup, Mom and Dad?" Dylan asked.

"Yes, please!" Anne said as Dylan poured syrup on her pancakes.

"Me too, please." Eddie said as Dylan poured some syrup on his pancakes as well.

"We'll head to the park for our picnic as soon as we finish breakfast. Then, how about a trip to GameStop and then a movie night?" Anne asked.

"Sounds good to me. What about you, Dylan?" Eddie asked.

"Yeah!" Dylan said.

After finishing their pancakes, the three of them packed a picnic basket, got into their car and headed for the park, ready for a day of family fun.

In a few minutes, they had their picnic set up.

"All right, time to dig in!" Dylan said as they sat down.

"I hope you're hungry for lunch, Dylan. I made your favorite lunch, an Italian sub with Little Debbie Swiss Rolls and a cream soda!" Anne said as she handed him his lunch.

"Thanks, Mom!" Dylan said as he dug in.

"Eddie, here's a sandwich for you." Anne said as she handed him one.

"Thanks, Anne." Eddie said as he took it.

The three of them sat peacefully and enjoyed their lunch, enjoying the time relaxing with each other. As the sun shone over their heads, they couldn't help but be happy.

"This is so nice." Anne said.

"It is." Eddie said.

"Hey, Mom and Dad, can we go play?" Dylan asked as he finished his soda.

"Sure!" Anne said before they got up and headed towards the playground.

Dylan sat on a swing and Anne pushed him.

"Higher!" Dylan said as Anne pushed him.

Eddie watched with a smile as his wife and son played.

"Hey, Dad! Check this out!" Dylan called before he jumped off the swing and landed on his hands and feet before making a roar.

"We are Venom!" Dylan said, putting on a deep voice.

Eddie and Anne laughed at their son's imitation of Venom. He was a huge fan of both Spider-Man and Venom.

"How about a game of hide-and-seek?" Eddie suggested.

"Okay. You guys hide, and I'll count!" Dylan said before he covered his eyes and started counting.

"Ten. Ready or not, here I come!" Dylan called before he wandered around, looking for his parents. He looked closely behind trees and slides, but there was no sign of them anywhere.

After a while, he saw a mess of blonde hair sticking out from behind a tree. He snuck around it and found his mom.

"Found you!" he said.

"You sure did!" Anne said before she hugged him. They then looked around for Eddie before they found him hiding behind a water fountain.

"Found you, Dad!" Dylan said.

"You sure did, buddy!" Eddie said, ruffling Dylan's hair.

"Come on, guys, let's pack up and head to GameStop." Anne said.

They gathered up their picnic and headed to GameStop.

"Hey, Mom and Dad, check it out! Spider-Man 2 for the PS5!" Dylan said as he held up the game.

"You wanted that game, didn't you, son?" Eddie asked.

"Yeah! Can we get it please?" Dylan asked.

"Of course!" Anne said.

After paying for the game, the Brocks started on their way home, already trying to decide for their movie night.
