Vita grumbled as she licked her palms and spread saliva over the dragon's pale skin, "Not the worst thing I've ever put into my mouth." her nose wrinkled, and she rolled her eyes dramatically, making her best diva impression. The thought of electrified bug guts and who knows what turned even her stomach.

Less than a month after becoming a vampire, Miriam was unbothered by the unsavory task. She passed her time, humming softly as she slathered her spittle over the dragon's body. "Cheer up, Vita." She stopped humming and chirped. A bright smile spread across her face with a hint of mischief as she shot Vita an impish grin and bit her lip. "I'm sure there will be more chances to put something else in your mouth." her face turned blush red.

Vita couldn't help but shake her head, appreciating the young vampire's favorable view of the unsavory job. She could see Miriam would be a great addition to the House of Mikoto. She sighed, licking her palms, lightly smacking the dragon's skin, "again," she emphasized, "the butt is yours," she said, thinning her eyes. Miriams' smile widened, and her eyes danced, seeing the creature's pale white skin becoming more vibrant. "fine," she said, beginning to hum again.

Vita shot her an exasperated look and shook her head, "You're unbelievable." she muttered.

While Vita and Marian attended to the dragon, their mistress, Mikoto, smirked at their banter as she surveyed the cave with a watchful eye. With arms across her chest, finger tapping her forearm, Mikoto leaned against the rock wall, glaring at the three dragons peering menacingly out of the cave. It was like watching cats while they stared back at you. Each daring the other to make a move. Each took turns as they stepped out of the cave and dared her.

With a click of her tongue, the three dragons would retreat a few steps. But these were Dragons, Not cats; cats wouldn't scare much and would end up prancing, tails high in self-proclaimed victory or like nothing had happened. "cats are awesome," little misaka quickly added.

But to continue, these were three good-sized, hungry Dragons. And as she watched, she was being watched. The pale white dragon with pale blue eyes never looked away, nostrils flaring, taking a deep breath after deep breath. Breathing in her scent.

A faint rumbling echoed through the cave as the ground trembled. Mikoto furrowed her brow, sensing the disturbance and seeing small stones hop over the ground. A growing shadow drew the cave into darkness as if the twin suns fell behind the clouds—only there were no clouds in the sky. This was followed by a strange chill that crept up the backs of their necks as if death had entered the cave.

Mirian's soft humming stopped. Vita quickly sniffed the air, eyeing the surrounding area. She stopped at her mistress. Slowly, They turned and followed their mistresses' gaze.

Mikoto had felt the chill as the cave went into darkness, the smell of the air becoming more menacing and massive. The three hungry dragons shrank, heads dropping to the ground, hoping to become smaller and less noticeable, eyes looking up warily. Each shook at what they saw. Mikoto followed their gazes.

A familiar voice broke. "Ohh fuuck!" Little Misaka exclaimed as she rolled out of her comfortable recliner. "Did someone say Godzilla?!"

And with it, there was a heavy, wet thump that surprised them, smacking the ground with a sickening spatter. Blood and muck covered them. The impact shook loose pebbles that rained down. Ignoring the splatter covering them, heads snapped upwards in unison. Gasping at the sight, like something they'd watched during the weekly movie night in the castle back on Earth, in the four kingdoms.

An enormous dragon descended from the shadowed heights. Its bulk is covered in overlapping black scales, the size of large shields. Massive Crimson colored wings spread wide, blotting out the twin suns. With each powerful thrust, gale-force winds swept over them like a physical force, slamming against their armor.

Another heavy thump followed, and a fresh hunk of meat landed a few feet away. What looked like another piece of another dragon. The putrid stench of torn flesh and scorched scales assaulted their vampiric senses. Surging their predatory instincts, the smell of blood and the hints of the violent nature of the hunt rushed through them. Mikoto felt the heat of her adrenaline burning her insides. Her fangs were inching with the desire to feed growing. Biting her tongue, her blood burned in her throat. With a glance, she saw it was happening to Vita and Mariam. With Vita, she had faith in controlling her vampire nature. But Miriam, she worried before she could call out to Mariam.

The dragon unleashed a deafening roar. A weapon of choice for the beast. Intimidation, Personified.

The cavern shook, and the acrid scent of smoke burned their nostrils. Mikoto's hair whipped around her face as she braced against the powerful wing beats. This was no pitiful, scrawny runt. This was the alpha predator itself. And as they braced themselves, it hung in the air as if reading the intruders.

Vita and Marian crouched defensively. Vita gripped the handle of her weapon, knuckles whitening as she tensed her body, ready to spring at a moment's notice. Miriam was silent, cheeks red, whether she was awed struck by the beast or analytical. She thinned her red eyes, taking deep breaths, waiting for her mistress's order.

Mikoto stepped forward, electricity crackling. Her red eyes narrowed, her jaw clenched, and veins bulged against her skin as she readied herself to take on the threat.

"well shit!" little misaka commented dryly. Brushing imaginary dust from her armor. "well, isn't this a pickle…" she said.

It hung in the air like a dark spector, eyeing the intruders with its piercing gaze. The dragon's rumbling voice shakes the cave. "What have I found?" it questions. The dragon stares intently at Mikoto, who is standing defensively by the small ghost white dragon. It seems surprising that despite everything, she sees it. In just a blink of an eye, it is a mother's love.

Dipping its head to sniff the pitful creature. "it seems you get to live another day, little one." It spoke, sniffing and following the burnt pieces of bugs.

With a raise of its head, it swung towards the collapsed column, neck scales spreading along its glowing bright red seams. "oh shit!" Vita yelled, remembering every dragon movie she had seen, grabbing Mariam and diving behind the white dragon.

The mother dragon's cheeks swelled, Smoke billowing from its open maw, and Like a sledgehammer dropping from a great height, it chomped down on the broken remains. Its chest and belly spread and squeezed mechanically as smoke, flame, and fiery sludge spewed from its mouth. The ground swelled like a rapidly growing balloon, ready to pop. It shook, glowing red hot and melting the stone.

Mikoto summoned her power with her subtle brow furrow, watching the dragon's powerful form come alive. She saw the hints of flames and the smell of smoke rolling along her spreading neck and coming from her mouth, which would build the fire that would eventually swallow them.

She quickly raised a magnetic barrier as the dragon's fire washed over them. Scorching heat pushed over the shield and surged along the roofline and out. The air became hot and stifling. The ground swelled, cracks spreading, the balloon becoming fragile until….. until the dragons' fiery onslaught finally ended. The barrier held strong, but she could still feel the intensity of the dragon's flames pushing her defenses.

She waited a few moments as the dragon wings beat, pushing the heat away with strands of hair sticking to her face. She brushed them aside with a casual flick of her fingers, her calm demeanor never wavering. Vita and Mariam emerged from behind the white dragon, drenched in sweat from head to boots. The dragon's glowing neck scales faded as it raised its head and turned its terrible gaze on them. It was then and only then that Mikoto dropped the barrier, bringing with it the rush of cool air sweeping them with relief.

"And what am I to do with you three?" the dragon's words rumbled, smoke still rolling out of its mouth. Its red eyes were burning and focused, bearing no remorse or care for the intruders. "It's not like I shouldn't eat those who have trespassed into my nest," she said with a tilt of her head. The dragon's tone was more conversational. The dragon sighed as its gaze shifted, softening in its thinking. "Considering I failed to protect her," it said, disheartened.

"I go out for the hunt and return to that thing," she said. "No matter how often I use my fire, it glistened back at me, taunting me." She continued, "My claws are useless on something so small," taking a breath, "and those three males are rather useless." She added, glaring down at the three dragons.

The great dragon slowly lowered itself, sitting atop the nest, her wings folding back. She eyed the frail white dragon in sadness and revulsion. "tell me, little ones, how did you come to find yourselves here?" she looked at the three of them. "And what prompted you to take mercy…" struggling for the words, "to end this….or was an abomination?"

If a dragon could smile, it did, its eyes glimmering and becoming softer. She looked at the little white dragon as if it were a gift.

Mikoto's gaze swept over the small dragon, one hand resting on its head, as sparks of electricity danced from her hand over the white skin of the dragon. It was purring softly, enjoying the attention.

All turned to Mikoto as the white dragon leaned its head against her legs. Mikoto breathed, electricity arcing over her fingers. "It's a long story…"
