"We need to talk about the recent villain attack." Principal Nezu said as he put his hands together, within a huge room and sitting in a table before him are all of the teachers within UA that are heroes.
The principal read at the documents on the table before he opened his mouth. "Have you all gotten any information?"
Nemuri raised her hand. "From what I've been able to gather, they were in cahoots with the quirkless kidnapper. As for who the person is, they have no information about it, even with Tsukauchi's help."
"Darn! We're back to square one again!" Touma slammed his fist on the table.
"Yeah." Shouta let out a sigh. "Just when we thought we could get something out of them."
"Yeah. Not even the villain named Dagger had any info." Midnight said as she looked into the documents.
Everyone sat down, an air of silence occurring until a voice broke it.
"Well, it's not all in vain."
Everyone turned to Sekijiro who had a piece of ripped paper in his hand.
"Could you explain a bit further, Vlad?" The principal asked.
"One of my students, Izuku Midoriya, had a run-in with two villains that were not part of the group that was captured," Vlad said before he pressed a button to turn on a camera feed showing Izuku being confronted by Tomura and Kurogiri. "I found this on the cameras at the same time that Midoriya confronted the two villains."
He then paused the camera feed before he pointed at Kurogiri. "Midoriya stated that the mist man's name is Kurogiri and he explains that his quirk creates portals that take him anywhere he wants. He could be the reason that the villains got in."
Sekijiro then pointed at Tomura as he continued to read the paper. "This man, Midoriya states that the mist villain, Kurogiri, refers to the blue-haired man as 'young master' or 'Master Tomura'. It is possible that he is related to the mastermind of the attack. As for what Tomura's quirk could be, based on Midoriya's analysis and the wound he received, the man's quirk seems to be some form of decomposition quirk that only activates when all of his fingers make contact with you. Other students have testified that this is the case as well."
"Hmm. A decomposition quirk?" Nezu said as he watched the camera feed, seeing the man's hand making contact with Izuku's shoulder before the shoulder began to disintegrate. "That is troubling."
"Indeed. Look at Midoriya wound." Nemuri winced as she inspected the video a few times. "His quirk could be what had damaged the UA barrier."
"You could be onto something, Midnight." Nezu nodded before he lifted his paw. "By all means, we will need to tighten up the security on UA so there will not be a repeat of this. If his quirk actually activated through contact, we would need to reinforce the electric barrier."
"How about the students?" Hikigane questioned with his arms folded. "This is the first time that this has happened so they will be shaken about this."
"I already have that covered. We will be hosting some guidance counseling seminars for the students starting next week. Hound Dog has already been informed about this." Nezu declared, getting a nod from Ryo. "The hero students will be the first to come back. We will need some of the third-year students to aid you, heroes, on your patrols around the school until the upgrade to the security system and the barrier."
"What about the UA Festival?" Power Loader asked. "We can't carelessly be putting our students in danger."
Hearing the question, Nezu thought about it for a minute before he calmly voiced his decision.
"We are going to proceed with the UA Festival."
What he said surprised the teachers in the room before he lifted his hand to silence them as he continued speaking.
"We have to assure our students, their parents, and the public that a situation like this will not hinder us. We have to also use this to send a message to the villains that we will not give up."
Power Loader let out a sigh before he leaned back on his desk. "So, business as usual?"
"Indeed!" Nezu said as he wore a smile. "Let's show them our spirit! Plus Ultra!"
It was a few days since the villain incident, everyone was recovering both mentally and physically from the event when UA College had to pause classes for several days.
During this time, Izuku was at home in his room, his body covered in bandages as he looked up at the ceiling. His mind recalled the events of the incident, how helpless he was while everyone was fighting against the villains which made him feel frustrated as he traced his fingers along his bandaged wounds.
'Man...I remember Aunt Nao nearly ripping the school apart to make sure I was ok.' Izuku thought before he looked outside his window, rubbing the bandages wrapped around his head. 'It feels weird now. Not doing anything. I'm not even allowed to work until I'm healed.'
After a moment of silence, Izuku heard his phone ringing, seeing that his mother was calling him.
'Oh boy. Here goes.' He took a deep breath and braced himself as he took the call. "Hi, Mo-"
"Izuku!" His mother's panicked voice could be heard from the other end of the call, Izuku changed the call to a video call as the lady continued. "A-are you ok?! I'm sorry I was not able to contact you sooner! I was so worried about you! I had to take a day off! I wouldn't be able to handle it if you were hurt badly! You are not hurt at all, right?! I-"
"Mom," Izuku spoke which stopped his mother's frantic rant. "I'm ok. I haven't been hurt that bad. See?"
Izuku stood up and outstretched his arms with a smile on his face, his smile was met with a worried Inko as she pointed. "What happened to your shoulder? What happened to your head? I can sense there are bandages under your shirt! My baby boy!"
"Uhh…" Izuku was surprised by the questions asked, his mind racking for an excuse. "I-"
"Don't lie, Izuku." Inko said with a serious voice which made Izuku look down on the ground and speak honestly.
"I...got injured during the villain..." He explained until he saw his mother's eyes becoming watery which made him panic as he quickly continued. "B-but don't worry, Recovery Girl said that it will be gone in a few weeks to a month! See! My body is A-OK!"
Watching her son, Inko had a worried look on her face before she opened her mouth. "Are you sure, Izuku?"
Izuku was surprised by the question before he answered with a serious expression. "Yeah, I'm sure."
Inko forced a smile on her face upon hearing her son's answer. She was about to say something until Yumemi suddenly jumped in front of the screen, startling the two. "Big brother Uku! Are you awright?"
"Yeah, Yu! I'm fine." Izuku said with a huge smile on his face which made Yumemi jump before she patted her mother.
"Yay! See, Mom? I told you Uku is very strong!" She spoke. "He will never make the evil people win!"
Despite her serious expression, Inko nodded and patted her daughter's head, getting a giggle from the little girl.
"Why don't you talk to your brother? I'm almost finished with breakfast." She asked Yu who nodded happily and celebrated before the little girl took the phone and talked to her brother while Inko went into the kitchen.
What Yumemi and Izuku did not notice was the woman wiping the tears going down her face, a smile appearing on her face when she saw them happily conversing. For several minutes, Yumemi spoke to Izuku, making him realize how much things are different when they are not around.
"Alright, it's time to go, Yu! It's time for your breakfast!" Inko said, much to her daughter's dismay when she began to whine. "Your brother needs to go and get his daily health checkup. Nurse orders."
"Huh?" Izuku raised a brow. "How do you know, Mom?"
Inko raised her phone. "Your nurse, Recovery Girl, told me. That's why I asked what actually happened."
Yumemi pouted as she stood before her mother. "But I want to talk to Uku more!"
"I know but Izuku needs to make sure that his body is ok," Inko said to a pouting Yumemi before she rubbed the little girl's hair. "You want your brother to feel better, right?"
Yumemi looked down in disappointment before she nodded. "Ok."
"How about this, Yu? When I get back, I'll talk to you." Izuku said with a smile. "Can you be a good girl and listen to Mom?"
Hearing that, Yumemi had a big smile on her face as she jumped into the air. "Yay!"
Izuku smiled as the two waved goodbye to them before the call ended. Putting down the phone, Izuku looked up to the ceiling, his mind recalling the look on his mother's face on the call.
"I made her worried again." He mumbled as he felt the breeze from his fan hitting his face. "She's been overworking herself."
Ever since the accident three years ago, Inko has been working herself every day for the well-being of her family. It is one of the reasons Izuku wanted to work so that he could lessen her workload with him and Yumemi.
"I just hope she gets some rest..." Izuku mumbled to himself as he looked at a picture frame of his family. "I don't want to make her worry. Maybe I should get her a gift."
After a moment of silence, Izuku took a deep breath before he readied himself and left his house. While Izuku was making his way to UA, he heard the voices of the people around him as they saw his ID.
"It's one of the UA students."
"Look at him. Wrapped up in bandages like that."
"UA should have provided better security for their students."
"I understand what you're saying but put it this way: at least none of them are dead."
Izuku ignored the people's chatter before he heard the announcement that said he had reached Tokyo, the teen came off before he made his way to UA.
Reaching the university, Izuku noticed multiple guards and heroes patrolling the campus. Making his way to the infirmary, Izuku watched as one of the teachers who looked like a cement block was working with Power Loader to rebuild the building.
'That's the Cement Hero: Cementoss! I knew he worked at a school but I never knew it was UA!' Izuku thought as he looked for his notebook, only to not have it. 'And I don't have my notebook! Darn!'
Reaching the nurse's office with a disappointed expression, Izuku knocked on the door before he heard a beep that signaled him to enter.
"Sit down, dearie." Izuku did as told while Recovery Girl began her diagnosis. "Let's start."
After a moment of silence which was a very awkward experience for Izuku, Recovery Girl finished changing the bandages in the teen's head and chest before she spoke.
"Midoriya." Hearing the elderly woman's voice, Izuku braced himself for another scolding which made the woman sigh as she noticed his body language. "Let me ask seriously: after what you have seen and experienced, do you still want to be a hero?"
Izuku remembered what happened at the incident, looking at the bruises along his body before he looked at the nurse with a confident expression. "Yes. I know you'd think I'm crazy but…I have to do this."
Recovery Girl observed him for a while before she nodded. "I understand."
Izuku was surprised by her response before he raised a brow. "O-oh! Ok?"
"You're an adult, Midoriya. The choices you make from here are of your own accord." The woman said as she put down her equipment. "Whatever happens now is all up to you. The good things...and the consequences."
"Oh!" Izuku said in surprise before he rubbed his head and then nodded. "Got it!"
"However..." Recovery Girl put her arm on his shoulder as she gave him a serious expression. "I want you to understand and if you want to take this path and save people, you need to learn to save yourself. And taking care of your body is the first step. Heroism is not an obligation or an excuse to hurt your body. This will be the last time I will say this to you."
Hearing the woman's words, Izuku's eyes widened in shock before the lady gave him a piece of candy which made him confused.
"Consider it a good luck charm." Recovery Girl gave him a serene smile. "Remember what I said."
Izuku smiled before he nodded. "Thank you very much!"
Watching Izuku leave, Recovery Girl's smile fell before she turned to the window, feeling the breeze as her expression changed to a pensive one.
"Please, kid. The last thing I need is another selfless person ruining himself."
After a couple of weeks, the Hero Course students were able to return to UA University, the group being introduced to an empty campus as they waited for their teachers in Gym Gamma.
"Wasn't expecting us to be the first ones here," Denki said, getting nods of agreement from Izuku and Hitoshi.
"It's expected," Kyoka said as she listened to her music player. "After what happened, I'm surprised they were able to continue classes so quickly."
"Yeah, I wanted to sleep more," Denki whined as he leaned against the wall.
Kyoka sighed as she sat beside him, closing her eyes. Meanwhile, Izuku was stretching his body to check for any sign of discomfort.
"Zuku," Hitoshi called for him. "How do you feel?"
"A slight discomfort but overall, I'm glad to be able to train again!" Izuku said before he took out a muscle cruncher. "Never thought a hit to the head from my own bat would hurt that much."
"At least you didn't get brain damage."
"Yeah," Izuku said while rubbing his bandaged head. "Happy that I only have until tomorrow to take this off."
They then heard footsteps, everyone turned to see Shouta and Sekijiro approaching them which made them quickly stand at attention.
"Good morning, classes! I'm happy to see that you've all fully recovered! Due to the interruption of the villain attack a few weeks ago, we're going to redo our Cross-Reference class!" Sekijiro stated as he stood in front of the class, much to the enthusiasm of the students. "However, we will do things a little differently today."
"We will be doing basic training with your hero equipment and quirks today. Nothing too strenuous. For those of you who have not decided on the weapon or gear yet, you can watch your classmates, use one of the equipment here, or take notes." Shouto said, crossing his arms. "The goal of this class is to see if you need any equipment ideas for your soon-to-be hero costumes. Since you all had your first experience of facing villains, you should have some understanding of how things will be on the battlefield against them. Any questions?"
Tsuyu raised her hand to which Shouta sighed before answering. "They are at the guidance counselor's office. They're going through their therapy sessions."
"I didn't-"
"You were looking for Uraraka and Hagakure." Shouta stated before he looks at the watch. "And they should be here in 3…2…1…"
"Sorry, I'm here!" Ochaco and Toru pushed the doors open with tired expression. "We aren't late!"
"Let's get started!" Sekijiro shouted.
"Yes, sir!" The students nodded.
Shouta walked over to Ochaco and Toru who were still by the doorway.
"You don't have to push yourselves." He stated. "You don't have to do anything strenuous. If you want to, you can take it easy."
The two girls looked at each other before they got up and went to train with their classmates. "Thanks, Mr. Aizawa!"
They then turned to him with smiles. "But we'll be alright!"
"Alright." The black-haired man said before he glared at them. "Don't overdo it!"
"Yes, sir!"
Everyone started to train, some of the students created a group and practiced with each other as the teachers observed their progress and helped some of the students with their equipment. Within the group of students was Izuku who was practicing his swings with his bat, the teen smiling as he felt no discomfort from his body.
"I can't believe we survived that," Ochaco said as she was lifting dumbbells. "It felt like a fever dream."
"I know," Izuku said as he threw a stone in the air and batted it into the wall. His mind then recalled the fight he had years ago against his bullies, a somber look on his face as he tightly gripped his bat. "I know."
They then heard clanging sounds before turning to Tetsutetsu and Kirishima fighting against each other. The two were aggressively trading blows, everyone noticing a strong aura oozing from their bodies.
"What happened with them?" Denki raised a brow, Itsuka and Momo walking beside him. "What a fight!"
"Yeah. I hope I get that strong." Ochaco said, her words getting a smile from Itsuka as she grabbed her by the collar.
"Great that means you're ready for a sparring match!" The orange-haired woman said as she dragged Ochaco who was completely confused. "Huh? What? Why? Help!"
Everyone laughed as the brunette was getting pulled into a sparring ring before they continued to train themselves, some of them using new gear.
Meanwhile, Izuku was silent as he went to the shooting range, the teen equipping his gauntlets before he picked up a rubber ball. Looking at the wooden dummies in front of him, he took a baseball pitcher's position as his hand began to glow. Izuku tossed the ball with all his strength, his arm fired a blast that made the ball knock down the wooden target.
Inspecting the damage, he picked up another ball while mumbling. "It's not as strong as my Air Bullets but I can incorporate it into my moves and use them as…"
"Someone's been going at it." Izuku was knocked out of his trance before he turned to Hiryu who was practicing shooting his scales. During their practice, Izuku noticed the new pair of yellow gauntlets adorning his classmates.
"You got new gauntlets, Rin?" Izuku asked as he marveled at the new gear.
"Yeah. After our fight and that villain attack, I knew I had to upgrade!" Hiryu said while patting his gauntlets. "Plus, guns are cool."
"That's cool! It can increase the power of your scale bullets! There's even a section for your scale blades to come out of!" Izuku said excitedly before Hiryu cut him off by holding out his palm.
"Anyways, you should be worried about yourself. Everyone is training hard so you can't relax now. Also, next time we fight again, I'll win!"
"Ok!" Izuku nodded as he continued training. "Yeah, don't count me out!"
During his training, Izuku was unaware of a pair of crimson eyes glaring at him from the other side of the room.
There was Katsuki who was wearing a pair of large green grenade-like gauntlets, the palms of the gloves being orange. The blonde was shaking in anger before his eyes then met with Izuku's who quickly looked away. After a few seconds, Izuku regained his composure before he looked at Katsuki with a confident expression which made the blonde angrier as he grabbed the stress ball in his pocket. He remembered what happened on the day of the villain invasion.
He remembered how Izuku saved him from Dagger. His teeth harshly grinded against each other when through his classmates' celebration, it was revealed that it was the useless bastard's plan that helped them defeat the villain. His hands began to let out more sparks onto his stress ball.
'That...fucking bastard...' Katsuki thought as he began to seethe. 'Is he trying to outdo me...why is he getting the praise...why is he doing better than me...I'll-'
"Hey, Bakugo! You have to spar with me!" Eijirou said while wrapping his arm around his neck. "I want to see how I fare against your explosions!"
Scoffing, Katsuki put his hands in his pockets and walked away with Eijirou.
After some time of training, the teachers were about to make an announcement until suddenly, their phones began to ring. Seeing the notification, the two teachers stared at each other uneasily as Sekijiro spoke. "What's happening? Another break-in?"
"I'm not sure." Shouta picked up his sleeping bag. "Our only way of knowing is by asking Nezu."
"Someone has bypassed the gate again? So soon? Shouldn't we be more worried?"
"As it stands, we don't have a choice. So many things happening in just a few weeks. This is such a headache."
"I know. What about the class? Should we let them return to class and do Hero studies in their classrooms?"
"They've been through enough. In a way, this can be therapeutic for them. At least, that's what Hound Dog said." Shouta said, Sekijiro nodded despite being worried. "Ok...I just hope it's not another repeat..."
"They should be able to handle a few minutes. They are going to have to handle more serious situations in the future."
"Hmm..." Sekijiro turned to Shouta, a moment of silence occurring between the two before the white-haired teacher squinted his eyes accusingly and spoke. "You're just glad to not have to do anything for a few minutes, aren't you?"
"C'mon! Nezu's waiting for us." Shouta said as he hurriedly left the room with Vlad.
"Don't you ignore the question, Eraser!"
The man let out a sigh before he turned to the students. "Students, a surprise meeting has just occurred with the principal!"
Seeing the students' worried expressions, the man quickly raised his hands. "Do not be alarmed, it's nothing serious, we will be right back! In the meantime, the class representatives of each class will be conducting the class in our stead!"
Hearing that, Momo, Tenya, Itsuka, and Setsuna walked toward the man. "You don't have to do anything too difficult. Just keep watch on them while they're doing their training. If any student goes out of line, let us know!"
"Yes, Mr. Kan!" The four students before Sekijiro smiled.
As the two teachers left, Momo looked down and let out a sigh before she turned to Itsuka. "Can you deal with this please?"
"Got it!" Itsuka nodded before she shared a nod with Setsuna who popped off her head and hand and spoke in a loud voice. "You heard the man, let's continue training, guys!"
Everyone did as told as they continued their exercise. After some time, Izuku and Hitoshi decided to spar with each other, their friends cheering as they took bets.
"I'm betting on Hitoshi in this one," Denki whispered to Kyoka who gave him a small smirk. "You might lose your money this time. I'm going with Midoriya."
"Someone's confident! How about the winner gets 200?"
"You're on!"
During their bout, Izuku was pushed back by one of Hitoshi's strikes which sent him into Katsuki, knocking him to the ground.
"Oh, sorry! You ok?" Izuku asked as he instinctively held out his hand to the blonde.
Those words. Those words made Katsuki tremble with rage as a memory unlocked in his head.
Realizing who it was that he knocked down, Izuku's body froze in fear when he saw Katsuki's crimson eyes glaring at him. Seeing Izuku's hand made the blonde angry before he launched an explosion that pushed back the green-haired teen.
"Watch where you're going, Deku!" Katsuki said, about to kick Izuku until a huge hand blocked him.
"Stop it, Bakugo." Itsuka stated with a glare, much to the blonde's anger as he raised a glowing palm. "Get the hell out of the way, you damn extra!"
"What is your problem?" Yosetsu said as he and a few more class 1B students stood in front of Katsuki.
"You're all just a bunch of clowns!" The blonde sneered at Izuku before he scoffed and then walked away with his hands in his pockets. "As expected of a class with you in it!"
"What's that supposed to mean?" Setsuna shouted at him as he walked away. "Can you take that stick out of your ass just once please?"
"Setsuna, language!" Itsuka said as she lightly chopped the lizard girl on her head. "But she is right?! You're being a bigger pain in the neck than usual. And that's saying something."
"Shut your face or I'll shut it for you!" Katsuki said as he lifted his exploding palm in a threatening manner.
"Oh, I get it." Everyone turned to Monoma who had a condescending grin on his face. "That frustration you have. It's because Midoriya managed to put up a plan to beat two villains that you couldn't!"
"Hold on, Monoma! Take it easy!" Yosetsu and Kosei held back the blonde but he continued.
"Am I right, Bakugo?!" Monoma egged on with a victorious smile. "Can't handle the fact that someone that you looked down upon has finally surpassed you, right?!"
Katsuki's shoulders began to shake as he unleashed multiple explosions onto the ball but it did not quell his anger.
"Monoma, stop!" Izuku told him which made Katsuki angry but he did not notice. "We do not need to worry about Bakugo. Let's continue training."
Hearing that, Katsuki's eyes went wide, his entire vision covered in red and his palms glowed intensely. With a single wave of his hand, he launched a huge explosion that pushed everyone away from him. As the explosion subsided, everyone turned around to see Katsuki whose arms were emitting smoke as he approached Izuku.
"Bakugo! What are you doing?!" Tenya said as he grabbed the blonde's arm. "You need to calm down!"
"Get the hell off me!" Katsuki shrugged off the Engine quirk user of his class before he stormed off towards Izuku. "It's between me and that spineless bastard over there!"
"B-Bakugo…?" Izuku mumbled while he retreated from the blonde who was approaching him with exploding palms.
"You think I'm nothing to worry about, huh? Are you looking down on me?!" Katsuki shouted angrily, rage oozing from his words. "Are you mocking me, you bastard?!"
"N-no. Why would you think that?" Izuku raised a brow.
"Don't you fuck with me!" Katsuki shouted angrily, smoke coming from his palms. Eijirou tried to stop the blonde again but he was sent back by an explosion.
Within an instant, a powerful explosion spread through the entire area, the force pushing everyone back. Barely dodging the blast, Izuku noticed that his clothes were covered in burns before he looked ahead to see Katsuki approaching him.
'…oh no…' Izuku started to pant when he saw the blonde's silhouette looking like a monster out of a horror movie.
"Get...away..." He mumbled with a voice that was breaking due to his fear, his body glowing intermittently as he tried to get on his shaky legs. 'Get up...Izuku...you have to run...'
Izuku started panicking as the blonde rushed at him again with an explosion, the blast sending him skidding across the floor. Trying to calm down his breathing, he clutched his chest and tried to calm himself but he heard an explosion that made his heartbeat faster out of dread.
"Get back here, you loser!" Katsuki said as he chased Izuku with a sparkling palm that missed.
The green-haired teen tried to run away but the blonde grabbed his arm and then swung him onto the ground, knocking the wind out of him. Before Izuku could get up, Katsuki stomped on his stomach and then unleashed an explosion that sent the freckled teen into a wall.
"Bakugo, stop!" Ochaco ran at him but he did not listen, his mind filled with rage as he fired a blast that sent her back.
Izuku looked up, seeing Katsuki rushing towards him, the scene making his heart beat a thousand times a minute. Despite his body shaking in fear, he instinctively dodged his strike, Katsuki grabbing him by the neck before slamming it into a wall.
"He's too powerful," Toru said as he watched Katsuki who was preparing an explosion. "We need to stop him!"
"Yeah!" Ochaco said as they tried to get into the fray only to be sent back by a blast. "He's not making it easy to get to him."
Meanwhile, Izuku was completely frozen in fear, trying to calm himself when he saw Katsuki running towards him.
"Die, you nerd!" The blonde yelled as he was about to shoot an explosion.
Izuku quickly dodged his hand, his body being sent back by the shockwave of the explosion.
"Bakugo! You need to cease this delinquent behavior! You are a part of the hero course!" Tenya said as he went in front of the raging blonde.
Veins appeared on the blonde's forehead as he pushed away the bespectacled teen.
"Get out of the way! That bastard…he made a fool of me?!" Katsuki said, marching towards Izuku who was getting up on his feet.
"I had the best quirk! I was top of my class and I trained my ass off to get into this hero course!" Katsuki said in pure rage before he pointed at Izuku. "Only to realize that bastard just suddenly got a lucky draw and got into this course without doing anything! He should not be in this course!"
Hearing those words, something inside Izuku snapped as he got up, his hands balled into fists.
'I didn't do anything...?'
The words echoed through his mind repeatedly.
'I did nothing to be here…?'
Izuku could not understand but all fear left his body when he heard that. He remembered all the days that he had trained endlessly and rigorously when he was quirkless to become a hero. Izuku trained himself daily to reach the same level as the people with quirks. He can understand about him being blessed for having a quirk but he had to constantly train himself to the bone to be able to use it and it is not the best quirk out there.
All of that effort...only to be told that he did nothing.
His blood boiled when he remembered those words, his body shaking in anger.
"He's such a disappointment! His damn mother doesn't believe in him!" Katsuki shouted before he went to attack Izuku only for his arm to be grabbed. "What the?"
Izuku glared at him, the blonde surprised by the intensity showing in his eyes. The green-haired teenager
'What the?' Katsuki thought as he tried to move his hand but he noticed the sheer strength of Izuku's arm.
"I haven't been training?" Katsuki heard Izuku say as the green-haired teen gave him a frustrated glare. "You think I haven't been training? You think I..."
Izuku then stood in front of Katsuki with a defiant look despite his disheveled state. '...I'm not that same person anymore. I'm not Deku anymore.'
"Deku…" Kateuki said as he tried to shake off Izuku's grip. if you don't-"
"My name is not Deku," Izuku said as his grip tightened, his eyes glowing. "It is Izuku Midoriya."
"You damn De-"
"Stop calling me that!" Izuku's loud voice shocked everyone as he pushed away Katsuki. Looking around, Izuku clicked his teeth before his eyes focused on Katsuki. 'Knowing Bakugo, since there are no teachers here, he's not going to stop until he makes a point.'
"You think you're all that, huh?!" Katsuki shouted, the explosions from his palms making Izuku reflexively jump but the green-haired teen kept his composure. "You make me so damn sick! You're just a weakling…that's all you are!"
"If you think I'm so weak…" Izuku gritted his teeth, pure frustration showing on his face. "...then why are you bothering me?!"
Katsuki was surprised again as Izuku walked towards him.
"Leave me the hell alone! All I'm trying to do is get better at using my quirk and be a hero!"
As Izuku made a step, Katsuki felt pressure coming from him which made him shock. 'What is this?'
"Why the hell can't you leave me alone, huh? You are here at UA! You are one of the best students in this class! You have an awesome quirk! Why are you obsessed with what I do?! Why?!"
Izuku's body began to glow intensely as his face distorted in anger.
"I'm trying to have nothing to do with you but still, you have a problem with me! What's the reason?! What is it, Bakugo?!"
Katsuki was silent which made Izuku angrier.
"You don't have a damn reason?! I'm not the Deku that was a coward, my name is Izuku Midoriya! So, stop calling me Deku and leave me alone!"
The entire area was silent as Izuku breathed heavily, Hitoshi and Denki looked at each other as they looked at Izuku.
"Hmm. That's the first time I've seen Zuku that angry."
"Yeah...didn't know he had it in him!"
"What…just happened?" Ochaco spoke, getting a shrug from Tsuyu. "Midoriya...exploded?"
Catching his breath, Izuku looked around to see everyone's eyes on him, all of them having confused expressions.
"What?" He was confused until he heard a spark.
"So, you don't understand the reason, huh?" Katsuki said before his eyebrow twitched. "I don't know if you expect me to believe that out of nowhere, you get a damn quirk! You were diagnosed as quirkless and have no sign of a damn quirk factor and then all of a sudden!"
"I was a late bloomer!"
"Late bloomer my ass! You were just a-"
Suddenly, a black scarf wrapped around Katsuki, stopping him in his tracks.
"Hey!" The blonde turned to Hitoshi who was pulling him. "Calm down."
"Why the hell should I calm down?" Katsuki said before his body froze, Hitoshi pulling him back. Regaining his consciousness, the Explosion user glared at Izuku who let out a sigh.
"You should've never come here," Katsuki said coldly to Izuku. "You're an eyesore."
"If you're so sure about Midoriya getting here through pure luck. How about a proposition then?"
Both Izuku and Katsuki turned to Itsuka who folded her arms. "A sparring match."
"Huh?" Katsuki raised a brow.
"Yep! If you have any unsettled business, settle it on the battlefield! Fairly!" She said before she pointed at the battlefield. "If either of you gets knocked out or sent out of bounds, we lose."
Katsuki glared at Itsuka. "Dumbass! Why the fuck should I-"
"You clearly want a fight, don't you? Here's your chance." Itsuka said to Katsuki before she turned to Izuku. "Midoriya, you don't have to do this if you don't want to. It's all up to you."
Izuku pondered about the situation, looking at Katsuki before he wore a defiant expression. "Yeah. If I win, you have to leave me alone."
"Alright, fine!" The Explosion user stated before he pointed at Izuku. "If you lose, you get out of this course and never be a hero again!"
Hearing his demands, everyone let out a shared gasp as their eyes landed on Izuku. Izuku thought for a moment, remembering all the training he had to do to get into the course. He could not get another chance like this again.
His eyes then landed on Katsuki, the person who had always looked down and berated him. Izuku felt a myriad of emotions at that moment: fear of Katsuki and his explosions, anger at the things Katsuki said about him, and doubt that he would be able to win this match. The logical part of his mind has been yelling at him multiple times that he will not win a close-quarters match against Katsuki but...
He was tired of being called Deku. He was tired of being looked down.
He will end the legacy of that nickname today.
"Ok." Izuku said, that one word causing everyone around him to look at him like a madman as some of his classmates began to grab him and speak to him.
"What are you doing?" Yosetsu shook him. "Do you want to lose that badly?"
"Midoriya, don't you remember how much you went through to get here?" Monoma asked him with a worried expression. "You barely got through."
"I understand how you feel but as your class representative." Itsuka approached Izuku, grabbing his shoulder with a concerned look. "Are you absolutely sure about this?"
"Yes." Izuku said confidently as he went to pick up his bat. "I'm sure."
Ochaco and Hitoshi watched the two going to the battlefield, the brunette being worried about Izuku as she asked. "What is Midoriya thinking?"
"I honestly don't know but one thing is for sure..." Hitoshi said as he watched the expression on Izuku's face. "...this is personal."
Izuku raised his bat and prepared himself while Katsuki's palms let out small explosions. Izuku noticed Katsuki's gauntlets while he prepared himself.
'Those gauntlets...if I had to guess, they increase the power of his explosions...' Izuku silently deducted as he adjusted the coils on his gloves. '...it's possible that it could have a container to store his sweat to let out at once. I can't allow him the chance to use that.'
The two waited as Momo went to the field, the girl sparing a worried glance at Izuku before she made the announcement.
"Start!"
"Die!" Katsuki rushed at Izuku who keenly watched his movements.
'His right!' Izuku thought before he expertly dodged Katsuki's attack, using his bat to block the flying debris.
The blonde clicked his teeth as he went for another blast that his green-haired opponent evaded by retreating. Katsuki continued on the offensive, Izuku continued to deflect and dodge his attacks as his eyes watched Katsuki's moves.
"Stop dodging, you bastard!" Katsuki yelled as he went for a kick that Izuku blocked. The freckled teen tried to go for a punch but Katsuki unleashed a powerful explosion that pushed him back.
"You fucking bas-" Katsuki could not continue when he saw Izuku's bat in front of him, barely dodging the swing.
'I promised myself to change.' Izuku thought as he went for a punch that Katsuki dodged before he retaliated with an explosion.
'I have to change.'
Landing on his feet, Izuku blocked a kick from Katsuki before he noticed a glowing hand at his peripheral vision, barely dodging the blast.
'Damn! The bastard's good at moving!' Katsuki thought as he retreated from a swing from Izuku. He then continued to dodge several punches before he noticed something. 'Where is his bat?'
Izuku threw some rocks at Katsuki who destroyed them with a blast.
"Rocks?" Mina raised a brow before Hitoshi tapped her shoulder. "He's doing a thing."
"Oh!" Her eyes widened before she smiled. "So, he's cooking then?"
"He's what?" asked Hitoshi, Denki and Monoma in unison.
"Ok...now!" Izuku stated as he rushed towards him with his hand in the air.
As Katsuki destroyed a few more rocks, he was confused by Izuku's form before he looked up.
"What?" He spoke when he saw the bat descending quickly, barely able to move in time when a rock hit him in the face.
Within a moment, Izuku caught the bat and slammed it onto Katsuki's arm, causing pain to course through the limb. Everyone flinched at the collision, the blonde's arm trembling uncontrollably before he looked at Izuku who went for another strike that he managed to evade.
"Not so fast!" Izuku thought aloud as he shot an Air Bullet that Katsuki dodged.
"My hand hurts like hell! Damn, that bat is strong!' Katsuki tried to go for an explosion at Izuku but the green-haired teen endured the blast and slammed down the bat which he dodged. Before Izuku could go for another attack, he received a punch to his face before firing an explosion that sent him back, shooting an Air Bullet to stop himself from flying out of bounds.
"I thought you'd be my punching bag!" Katsuki yelled before he unleashed another explosion onto Izuku who took the attack before he rushed towards the blonde.
"Midoriya is not doing well against Bakugo," Monoma said as he watched Izuku endure an explosion before he went for another swing that Katsuki barely dodged.
"Yeah, " Ochaco said as she saw Katsuki detonate a blast that knocked back Izuku but he held his ground and dashed towards his opponent.
Before Izuku could attack, Katsuki unleashed a barrage of explosions onto his opponent before he finished the assault with a powerful blast.
Despite the damage he endured, Izuku took a deep breath as he dashed toward Katsuki who shot an explosion.
"How did you get into this course?!" He yelled, Izuku kept going as he swung his bat with all his might but he missed. "All of that talk and you didn't even get a hit!"
Taking an explosion on his back, Izuku blocked a punch before he unleashed a barrage of strikes but Katsuki dodged them until Izuku shot a gust of wind that pushed the blonde back.
"FUUUCCCCCKKK OFFFF!"
Hearing Katsuki's shout, Izuku saw a flash of light that blinded him before a huge explosion covered the area, everyone watched as Izuku's bat flew out of the field.
"Umm…should I be worried?" Mina said worriedly, Toru sharing the pink-haired girl's uneasiness. "I hope Izuku pulls out an Einstein in this battle."
"And just like that bat, Zuku's chances of winning the match are almost gone," Denki said with a sweat coming down his face, getting shaky nods from Hitoshi and Monoma. "This...is where things are gonna get rough for Zuku."
"If he's not careful, Midoriya is gonna be out of the UA gates!"
As the smoke cleared, everyone gasped when they saw Izuku on the ground, covered in burns before they turned to Katsuki who only had a wound on his arm.
"Dumbass! You think you could beat me!" Katsuki grinned when he saw Izuku pushing him off the ground.
"Your bat is gone now so what's your next idea, huh?" Katsuki then rocketed himself towards Izuku.
'Now!' The green-haired teen grabbed the blonde's shirt and arm before he flung Katsuki over his shoulder, the blonde managed to stop himself with an explosion and then countered with a kick that was blocked.
Being aggressively attacked by Katsuki, Izuku hissed at the pain coursing through his arms. Everyone winced as they saw the wounds covering Izuku's arms, the teen taking another explosion to the face as he tried to attack his opponent.
"This...this is a slaughter fest…" Setsuna said, flinching when she saw Izuku take another explosion to the face. Watching the fight, Momo hesitantly turned to Itsuka. "Are you sure we should be continuing this? Even the power of Bakugo's explosions is stronger than usual."
"Yeah." Itsuka nodded as she saw another blast knocking Izuku across the field. "Midoriya is completely out of his league against Bakugo."
Meanwhile, Izuku watched Katsuki's movements before he dodged one of the explosions. Seeing his opponent preparing for another attack, the green-haired hero-in-training threw several rocks that the blonde destroyed until he saw no sign of Izuku.
"Where the hell did he go?" Katsuki looked around before he noticed a fist from his peripheral vision that he dodged, shooting an explosion that missed. He tried again to go on the attack but Izuku retreated as he evaded his opponent's strikes.
'Keep calm and watch his movements.'
Izuku took steady breaths as he continued his fight with Katsuki, the teen getting better at dodging his opponent's explosions. This continued until he grabbed Katsuki's arms and pushed them away, the blonde feeling the pain when he noticed Izuku's grip beginning to tighten.
'It's ok. It's ok.'
Izuku then spun around, firing an Air Bullet to make him faster before he threw Katsuki, making him skid across the ground. The battle continued until the blonde rocketed himself, landing a punch that busted Izuku's lip. Katsuki grinned as he pummeled the freckled teen's face until Izuku blocked his strike.
"Do you now realize that you're nothing!" He let out an explosion that sent Izuku skidding across the floor. "All you've ever been is lucky!"
"I don't get it! Why does Bakugo hate Midoriya so much?" Mina asked, turning to her friends who shrugged their shoulders. Toru watched the fight with an uneasy expression. "Probably has something to do with their past. You know, them being childhood friends? Well, ex-childhood friends."
"Maybe they thought he was quirkless?" Yosetsu said before he turned to Hitoshi and Denki. "He did say that he was a late bloomer, didn't he?"
"Yeah!" The two answered before they heard another explosion, seeing Izuku being sent across the battlefield.
"You see that, Deku? 6 years ago, you couldn't do shit to me and it's the same now! You're just quirkless!" Katsuki said with an evil grin while Izuku was getting up, wiping the blood coming down his lip. "All of that training and you're still nothing!"
Izuku tried to get up but he lost balance and fell back on his knees, the teen heavily panting as he kept his eyes on Katsuki.
"Why bother coming here, you scum?!"
Hearing Katsuki's insults, Izuku sneered as he flexibly dodged an explosion, much to his opponent and everyone's surprise.
'Ready!' Izuku let out a silent breath as he adjusted the coils around his gauntlets.
Katsuki tried to go for a kick that Izuku ducked under before he went for an explosion but his hand was knocked away by Izuku.
As Katsuki thrust his hands towards Izuku to fire an explosion, Izuku quickly slammed his palms into Katsuki's and then fired two blasts to push him back, much to the blonde's confusion.
'He cancelled out my explosion?' Katsuki stated in shock. 'Those gauntlets?'
Before he could recover, Izuku rushed towards him and landed a powerful punch to the blonde's face that sent him back. Not missing a beat, he grabbed Katsuki's leg and then slammed him on the ground, knocking the wind out of him. Seeing the look of pain, Izuku felt a wave of joy coursing through his body before he continued to fight Katsuki.
"Finally! He got one punch in!" Yosetsu grinned, the other boys of Class 1A and 1B were watching the fight with concerned expressions.
"I mean he needs to be careful now. Look at his arms, they're burnt." Monoma said but he kept on guard in case something bad happened. 'I hope you know what you're doing, Midoriya.'
Filled with rage, Katsuki unleashed a wave of explosion that pushed back Izuku but he kept his balance, seeing Katsuki dashing towards him. Taking the kick to the stomach, he grabbed his leg, spun him around, and threw him.
"That bastard!" Katsuki cursed before he regained his balance, about to attack until he was hit in the face by an air blast.
Barely recovering from the attack, he dodged another Air Bullet before he rocketed himself towards Izuku who stopped his strike but he used his other arm to unleash a powerful explosion that knocked back his green-haired foe.
"You're just below me!" Katsuki yelled, a huge smokescreen covering the battlefield.
Everyone watched as the blonde laughed maniacally as they all saw the smoke clearing but they could not hear or see no sign of Izuku. Ochaco covered her mouth with her hands as she watched in anticipation and worry. "I-is he ok?"
"I don't know," Hitoshi said, noticing the blank look on Izuku's face. "But knowing Zuku, he's not one to go down."
"What's wrong, Deku?" Katsuki shouted, sparks coming from his palms. "What happened to the nerd who passed the entrance exams? What happened to the 'Quirk Guru' whose plan got us the jump on the villains a few weeks ago? What happened to the bastard that just said he was training his butt off to get into this course? Because so far, you're nothing but scum?"
Suddenly, a hand quickly emerged from the smoke and grabbed Katsuki by the collar, surprising him. The blonde tried to attack but his hands were knocked aside by a powerful gust of wind, making his explosions blast elsewhere. 'What the hell?'
'Take a deep breath.' Izuku took a deep inhale as he got out of the smoke. Katsuki knocked away his grip before jumping back, his green-haired opponent keeping chase.
'Steady myself.' Izuku put his feet apart when he went close to Katsuki, winding his fist while his eyes focused on his target. The Explosion user quickly put his hands together and readied himself as his palms began to glow. "You're dead!"
'Now!' In a single leap, Izuku landed a strong punch to Katsuki's stomach that caused him to fall to his knees and clutch his stomach.
Everyone watched as the overconfident and arrogant blonde of class 1A was coughing up spit on the ground as he tried to keep the bile in his throat.
"Damn! What a gut punch! Nice one, Midoriya." Some of the class 1B boys cheered Izuku on, Tetsutetsu and Togaru grinned as they shouted at him. "Good job there, Quirk guru!"
"Show him that Class 1B is not bad!" Monoma said with a huge grin on his face which made everyone around him uneasy.
Although the punch caused devastating pain in his stomach, what hurt the most was Katsuki's pride.
Katsuki's eyes were bloodshot as he saw Izuku in front of him. The blonde gritted his teeth as he saw the look of defiance on the freckled teen's face. Seeing the look on Izuku's face angered Katsuki to no end as he tried to get up but the pain made him lose his balance.
Katsuki did not expect this.
Deku.
Deku should be underneath him. He should be behind him. He should be a pebble in his path. Just like back then...
An explosion was fired within the Aldera Middle School, sending a black-haired Izuku across the halls until he crashed into a wall.
"Ow..." Izuku said as he rubbed his back, the pre-teen brushing the smoke off his middle school uniform.
"DEKU, YOU PIECE OF SHIT!"
Hearing a voice, Izuku looked up to see an enraged Katsuki walking towards him, his hands glowing intensely. His lackeys then came behind him, the two of them snickering before one looked at the notebook that had fallen out of his bag.
"What's this? You're taking notes on how to be a hero?" He picked up the book, Izuku was about to get it before the other lackey grabbed his arm and slammed him into a wall.
"Taking notes? You really are taking this hero thing seriously, huh?" Katsuki said with a brow raised as he took the notebook. "You're just a useless freak! How could you ever think that you could be a hero?"
"I'm working hard..." Izuku said, blood leaking from his forehead. "...UA has a course for quirkless students so I can-"
He was cut off when he received a kick to the face from Katsuki. "Don't fucking embarrass me?! What the fuck can you do?! You're just a quirkless bastard! What the hell are you going to do on the exam?! Don't try to compete with me, you useless nerd!"
"I'm...not..." Izuku coughed on the ground as he tried to get up, Katsuki getting angrier before he kicked one of the desks in one of the classrooms. "People are destined for greatness once you see their quirk at the age of 4. You haven't shown any such potential ever. Just a useless pebble."
Katsuki then burned Izuku's book with an explosion, the raven-haired boy was heartbroken by this when he saw his book damaged and covered in charred marks. Before Izuku could do anything, the blonde threw the book out of the window without a care in the world as his lackeys laughed at Izuku's misfortune. While Izuku went to the window to look for his book, he was grabbed by the shoulder and then turned around to see Katsuki's murderous glare.
"Here's a little word of advice, for your sake." The blonde smiled at Izuku, smoke coming from his hand as he began to burn the black-haired boy's shoulder. "Don't bother applying. I won't need to tell you what happens if you do."
Katsuki then walked away with his lackeys, leaving Izuku on the ground.
"You know if you really want to be a hero, there may be one way." The raven-haired boy looked up to see Katsuki by the doorway. "Why don't you take a swan dive from the roof and hope that you will get a quirk in the next life? That might be a way that you will get a quirk."
Hearing that, Izuku felt a string snap within him as he turned to face the trio but his anger died down when he saw Bakugo's demonic glare smile while he let out a few sparks from his hands, making the curly-haired boy intimidated.
"Remember this and remember this well, Deku." Katsuki put his hands in his pockets. "No man is created equal. I'm destined to be at the top and you..."
Katsuki pointed at Izuku.
"...you are just complete trash."
Katsuki was always told that he was at the top of the food chain, the best in the room. A walking prodigy. No one could challenge him, every teacher told him that he was excellent. He had the perfect quirk and there was nothing that no one could beat him at.
But it all fell to naught when he came to this college. The school that he was destined for.
UA University College.
Here he found people that were considered better than him, the teachers talking back to him and telling him that he needed to work harder and he was not perfect. But the biggest shock to him was.
Deku's appearance.
The weak, quirkless loser that he stupidly once considered was a childhood friend. The piece of garbage human being that had no talent or friends. The useless loner from his middle school days.
Here he was in front of him. His presence mocked all his efforts. His new appearance is a thorn in his side. His new attitude frustrates him to no end and everyone telling him to leave Izuku alone.
In short, Deku was an eyesore. Pure scum.
And for this scum to face him. To hit him. But most of all, for Deku to look down on him.
'This bastard...' Katsuki thought as he looked at Izuku which made him twitch with rage. 'Just like back then. Despite that he was a quirkless loser, he never gave up. He's like a stain that would not go away!'
Meanwhile, Izuku took a fighting stance when he watched a twitching Katsuki on the floor.
'Keep calm, Izuku.'
Katsuki got up with a deranged look on his face that made everyone feel a chill up their spine. Putting his hands behind his back, Katsuki sped off like a rocket towards Izuku who was on his guard, the blonde unleashed an explosion that Izuku bulldozed through before he grabbed his arm and threw him back.
'His Explosion quirk is a power that has amazing offensive and speed. Paired with Bakugo's personality, it's a perfect quirk for him.' Izuku dodged a few attacks, hissing from the stinging pain in his arms when he smacked away one of Katsuki's arms. 'Usually, cold water would work as a way to weaken him. There's no cold water but...'
Izuku went on the offensive when he sent a flurry of punches until Katsuki shot an explosion that he shielded himself against with an Air Bullet. Despite being hurt, the green-haired teen ignored the pain as he ran at Katsuki.
"You want to die that badly? Be my guest!" The blonde said before he launched a barrage of explosions that Izuku bulldozed through, much to everyone's surprise.
'Ignore the pain. Ignore the pain. You have gone through this before so it shouldn't be much different.' Izuku thought as he continued rushing through Katsuki's blasts, everyone cringing as they watched Izuku going through the barrage.
"His arms! Ohhh..." Yosetsu said, twitching uncomfortably when he saw one of the explosions burning the skin off Izuku's elbows. "...that is so uncomfortable to look at. They're red!"
"Yeah..." Ochaco said with a worried tone. "I know I should be used to him being like this but he's more reckless than usual. It's like he doesn't even care what happens to him."
"We should stop the fight." Tenya turned to Momo who nodded until they heard a huge explosion that created a powerful shockwave that pushed all the onlookers. "Oh no."
"You are nothing but garbage!" Katsuki yelled until suddenly, a hand came from the smoke and grabbed his arm.
"I don't care what you think I am-" Izuku gritted his teeth, the glow on his body flickering.
His hand started to glow as he balled it into a fist, the veins in his arms turning green. Katsuki tried to attack before he felt an immense pressure that froze his body which made him shocked before he saw the intense glow from his opponent's eyes.
"-just know this." Izuku gritted his teeth. "I!"
"Am!" His freckles lit up as he stomped on the ground.
"Here!" Katsuki could only see a glowing fist near his face, unable to shake off Izuku's hold when he let out an explosion.
Izuku swung his arm with all his might, his fist colliding into Katsuki's face. Feeling the full force of the strike, Katsuki's vision became blurry until he was sent flying across before he skidded on the ground.
"Damn! That one felt personal!" Denki winced until he saw a huge smile on Kyoka's face which made him confused. "What's wrong with you?"
"That." She pointed at Katsuki, trying to hold back her laughter. "Look at his face."
"Shit!" Katsuki said, feeling a bit dizzy when he got off the ground. "You bastard."
He glared at Izuku before he felt something drip on his hand, looking down to see a crimson liquid on his palm. The blonde then felt a sharp pain on his face before he touched his nose which made him wince. "What the fuck?"
Seeing the liquid dripping on the ground, Katsuki looked at one of the windows to see his nose now broken and bloodied. Realizing what happened, he started breathing heavily, his eyes becoming bloodshot before he yelled at the top of his lungs.
"FUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKK!"
Everyone snickered at the blonde's humiliation except for Hitoshi who was a bit worried when he saw the seething expression on Katsuki's face. 'I don't like this.'
Feeling a bit exhausted, Izuku kept his distance from his opponent, his heart beating quickly which shocked him.
"Oh! I-I didn't mean..." Izuku lifted his right hand before he felt a slight numbness, looking to see some smoke coming from the limb. 'When did I use my quirk? Is that why his nose is broken?'
Katsuki, on the other hand, was completely stunned at what happened. His nose was broken and his stomach was still aching from the last strike he took.
'You…' He glared at Izuku, a feral expression on his face until he saw red. 'You…'
"YOU BASTARD!" Katsuki was blinded by rage as he lunged at Izuku.
Silently observing his opponent, the freckled hero-in-training ran away from the blonde which surprised everyone.
"Why is he running? He landed two solid blows in Bakugo's face!" Inasa said as he watched the battle.
"Is he scared now?" Togaru spoke, his arms crossed.
Hitoshi watched the battle before he noticed something that made him smile. "That madman…"
After a while, Izuku stopped and turned around, facing Katsuki as he prepared himself. The blonde lashed with his right hand, his palm glowing intensely. As he fired a blast, Izuku countered it with his own.
'Two left.' Izuku thought as Katsuki stomped forward and blasted another explosion which he repelled with an Air Bullet.
'One left.' Izuku blocked a kick from the blonde before he fired a blast into his stomach, knocking the air out of him.
"Die!" Katsuki said as he swung his fist with all his might.
'Now!'
Within an instant, Izuku grabbed his arm which surprised the blonde. Katsuki was about to go for another attack but the green-haired teen did not give him time when he spun around.
'What the?' Katsuki felt the ground leaving his feet before Izuku threw him over his shoulder.
Within a moment, the blonde's back slammed onto the ground which knocked the wind out of him. Katsuki got up quickly, rubbing his aching back before he lunged at Izuku with a glowing palm. "You little-"
"Katsuki Bakugo, you lose!"
This completely shocked the explosive blonde before he glared at Momo and Tenya. "How the fu-"
"Do you see where you are, Bakugo?" Momo said as she pointed down, Katsuki's eyes lowered to the floor before they widened like dinner plates.
He saw that he was outside of the white chalk line, indicating that he was out of bounds. "How..."
"That was a part of the rules."
Katsuki turned to Izuku who was panting heavily while rubbing his smoking arms which did not go unnoticed by the blonde.
"Yeah...I'm not as powerful as you are. But even I can be able to achieve something." Izuku said as he looked down on Katsuki.
"H-how did you…your arm was glowing...now it's smoking..." The blonde asked, completely stupefied at the situation.
"I don't know...but I know one thing. Believe it or not, I have a quirk." Izuku let out a sigh of smoke of his mouth before he walked away from the field. "Also, I won...so leave me alone. I'm not going to be your punching bag anymore..."
As Izuku left, Katsuki was in complete disbelief when he looked at the ground.
He lost. He actually lost.
But what made him more enraged was who he lost to.
He lost to Deku.
The quirkless loser that was beneath him. The damn nerd who does nothing but make notes of heroes and quirk. This loser was the one that beat him.
'This bastard...' Katsuki glared at Izuku who was being congratulated by his friends.
'That damn bastard.'
Some of his classmates outstretched their hands to Katsuki who ignored them. His eyes were bloodshot, veins pulsing on his forehead as he shook in anger.
'You...you...you...'
Katsuki shook in anger as he started sweating, his palms began to emit sparks. Getting up and grabbing his gauntlet, he sneered at Izuku.
"Didn't expect you to beat him at his own game, Zuku?" Hitoshi smirked as he nudged Izuku who let out a nervous chuckle. "Well, it could have been worse."
"Yeah! Thanks for the awesome spectacle of punching Bakugo." Kyoka said with a smirk as she looked at the camera. "I need to find a way to get that footage."
"Well, that should be the end of cl-"
Suddenly, an explosion shook the area that created a huge shockwave of smoke that blinded everyone. Turning around, Izuku came face to face with a Katsuki's gauntlet that began to glow.
"I WON'T LOSE TO YOU!" Katsuki yelled angrily as he pulled a pin from his gauntlet.
The grenade bracers began to glow intensely, the opening on the gauntlet unleashing a blinding light.
"Bakugo! Stop!" Tenya shouted as he kicked Katsuki's arm to throw off his aim but it was too late as the entire area was enveloped by a burst of light.
"NOW DIE!"
"First the villains, now the media." Snipe sighed in exhaustion.
"Damn it. Those news reporters were relentless. They took advantage of the hole in the barrier." Present Mic said as he stretched his arms, getting a nod from Nemuri.
Shouta scratched his head. "At least it's over now. Time to go back to my daily dose of a headache."
Suddenly, a powerful explosion shook the ground, shocking them and some of the students in the area. Seeing a smoke trail, the teachers' eyes widened in worry.
"That looks like it's coming from one of the gyms. Is it another attack?" Nemuri said, adjusting her glasses before she ran towards the area.
Shouta's expression turned to one of grim. "I hope that isn't the case."
As the teachers reached Gym Gamma, their eyes widened when they saw the state of the gymnasium. Before them was the interior of Gym Gamma, part of the area being destroyed as they noticed a hole in the wall and almost half of the place covered in debris and rubble. They then turned to Katsuki who was being held down by several of the male students.
"Stay down, Bakugo!" Tenya said as he held Katsuki's arms behind him.
"Let go of me!" The blonde squirmed against their hold.
"What is happening here?" Shouta shouted as he entered the gym.
"It's Bakugo..." Momo said, her expression being pale. She then held up her hand and pointed to the huge opening in the wall. "...and Midoriya..."
The teachers' eyes widened as they heard that, Nemuri immediately dashing towards the opening before she gasped. "Oh no!"
Within the destroyed shed was Izuku who was his body twitching uncontrollably. His face was bloodied, the right side being smeared with blood and covered by his hair. As some of his classmates rushed to his body, they winced when they noticed one of his arms being twisted in an unnatural way.
"Midoriya. It's best not to move." Nemuri spoke to Izuk, adjusting his face until she saw something that turned her expression into one of dread. "Where is Recovery Girl?! He needs immediate medical attention."
"How bad is it?" Sekijiro said as he called for the nurse.
"There's glass shards in his eye! His arm is broken! It lodged out of place!"
Realizing what he had done, Katsuki could not hide his shock as he watched a few medical bots scan Izuku's injuries, the blonde seeing several shards embedded in his right eyelid.
'The hell is everyone...' He thought as everyone followed Nemuri as they escorted Izuku from the premises.
"Bakugo." Katsuki felt a hint of fear in his heart at the sound of his teacher's voice. Turning around, he saw a horrifying glare from Shouta as he crossed his arm. His scarf levitated into the air before he started talking.
"We need to talk."
Yeah…the second(or in this case first) actual fight between these Midoriya and Bakugo. So yeah. I hope that you guys liked the Izuku vs Katsuki fight. It was honestly one of my favorite fights to write up since I had it cooking for a while. I took a while to write this because I had to show the difference between the two. Bakugo being a smart instinctual fighter while Midoriya is an observational and planning fighter.
Finally, the whole villain debacle is done. We can resume the normal school program...yay.
The next arc is honestly one of my favorites to write so I hope that you looking forward to it. Well, I hope that you guys enjoyed the story and please stay safe.
Enigma out!
