Chapter 78: Liberty City Isaribi Chronicles 10

Liberty City, 2008. The day started out with shit, but it got better when I worked with Yusuf Amir. For once, someone I was working with that was both pretty respectful and well-paying. Was his work insane? Yes. But I was more than willing to do that because it was usually pretty damn. Too bad my first job wasn't as exciting as Luis's, but I got it done. However, I had to prepare myself to work with Niko.

"It's so damn cold today." Isaribi said as she pulled on a black trenchcoat.

She was over at Niko's apartment getting ready as Niko opted to wear his trademark navy Spyde track top. He had it finished off with stonewashed jeans, his dark blue fingerless gloves, and white tennis shoes. She was back in cheongsam only with thicker leggings and her boots.

"So we're finally working for Ray directly?" Isaribi said as they were leaving the apartment.

"Yes, that we are." Niko said.

"Well I'm driving…" Isaribi said getting in her Dukes. "I need to take a break from the bikes."

Niko got in and we were off to Drusilla's.

[A Long Way to Fall]

We arrived to meet Ray and I let him talk to Niko first before he got to me. He had asked about my Lost MC ties and I was upfront.

"I'm basically quitting. Personally, the Lost looks at me as an associate despite the fact that I'm a patched member. When I wasn't dealing with sexism and racism, any good ideas I had were ignored. So I'm slowly cutting my ties…they can't even keep themselves together." Isaribi said flatly as Ray snickered.

"Well you got a good head on your shoulders. Maybe you can help with this job I have for you. Have a seat." Ray said as he got to explaining what he needed done.

Niko was to kill Teddy Benavidez and I actually noted that I knew the prick. Considering the asshole nearly got my friends killed, I had been planned to merc the fuck for a while. However, because I mentioned I knew where Teddy lived, I was tasked to get rid of his right-hand man, Alonzo. With that, we got to work. Alonzo was an easy mark and I waited in the car while Niko went up the building for Teddy.

He looked to her phone to see Hank calling her to which she ignored the call.

"I'm surprised I'm not hearing gun-

I remember the sound of Teddy's flesh hitting the pavement. A loud crunch…and I just looked over in disbelief. I started the car as Niko came down calling Ray. We briefly split as he had to go to Alderney…and I had to go get paid from Ray. We also got a 'boon' from Ray, that being an apartment in Alderney off Mahesh. Honestly, looking back, as slimy as Ray was…he did basically solve my homelessness in Alderney given I technically didn't have a place I could call home. I'd collect my payment from Ray and catch up to Niko only to find out about the job that was going down with Derrick. I didn't exactly approve.

[Babysitting/Caught With Your Pants Down]

"Absolutely not. Fuck that." Isaribi said crassly.

"C'mon, Isaribi…I…"

"Derrick, you drug-addled bastard! I have hard lines, one of them is counterfeiting cash because doing that fucks up the economy. The same economy we need. Two, it's working with the North Koreans." Isaribi ranted.

"I didn't think of you as a racist." Derrick mused.

"Racist? The North Korean Mob is basically Room 39…the NK government's hired thugs. I am not a good girl, but I refuse to take money or do any work from those hypocritical fascist fucks. Also they're pretty damn racist to everyone." Isaribi said. "So count me out."

I took off. I personally refused to work with Derrick again after that. Packie understood when I told them why. Even he was not pleased with Derrick. But while Niko was aiding Derrick, I went back to Liberty to meet up with Luis for another job for Yusuf. What I walked into was the funniest shit possible…I'll give it to Yusuf…he can rap pretty good. When he said he wanted a NOOSE tank, I was down to get it for him.

"Isaribi, that's why I admire you. You're a go-getter!" Yusuf praised.

"Along with being loco." Luis teased.

Then Yusuf's father walked in…and Yusuf was trying to downplay the situation. Then his father practically roasted him.

"Just want to clarify, I'm not a hooker." Isaribi said as Yusuf's father had his eyes on her. "Business associate. If someone needs protecting, an enemy put down, or a wide variety of issues, I am your woman. Isaribi Umi. Your son speaks highly of you…and as a business graduate, you live up to the hype."

"You went to college?" Yusuf asked.

"She has three degrees." Luis remarked. "One of them is in business."

"Well apologies for my son's behavior." Abdul mused.

"Please, this is tame compared to what I've seen." Isaribi said. "Now I must be going… Luis and I have work to do."

Luis and I took our leave. We'd meet at Star Junction later as Yusuf got us in a helicopter. He really was willing to get his hands dirty and I respected them. He'd hand us both Advanced Snipers to shoot the bolts off on the APC as the Skycrane was carrying it. Easier said than done, but after that…the fun began.

"Good luck, homies!" Yusuf said as both Isaribi and Luis jumped off the chopper.

They pulled their cords, parachuting down to ground level before getting in the APC. Cops descended on them but given they were in a tank….they fought back. Isaribi took control of the cannon as Luis drove.

BOOM! I had a bit too much blowing shit up with it. Not that Luis was complaining as he was mowing down cops and their cars in the way. Pretty sure we murdered 10 dozen cops before we managed to get away from the police. We delivered the APC to the construction site. A job well done…even if it took hours.

As Luis left, Yusuf got the APC stored away before handing Isaribi her payment.

"40 grand?!" Isaribi said.

"Yeah, double. For sticking your neck out for me…made a bad situation a bit less bad. Thanks, Isaribi." Yusuf remarked.

"No sweat, Yusuf. I had fun." Isaribi said before hearing a car horn.

He turned to see Danica drive up in a black Gang Burrito.

"Isaribi, get in. We need to go!" Danica yelled.

I bid goodbye to Yusuf before getting in the van. I knew that if she was rushing over and raising her voice something was up.

[Bad Standing]

And then she told me. Brian Jeremy had attempted to do business with Danica, but he had decided to arrange for her to be whacked by some of Pegorino's guys. So I end up calling Ray for answers. As slimy as he was, he did apologize stating that Brian had tricked his guys into doing that. Even give up the place that the rat was hiding before hanging up. Brian? He was a problem and it was that moment I realized Danica…was something I had cherished more than Estelle. She really was my best friend.

"Danica, I promise you that I'm going to get this motherfucker." Isaribi said as Danica smirked.

"I know you will, and I got the tools for you to do so." Danica remarked confidently as they crossed the bridge.

However, we got to the place too late. Brian owned a house on Emery Street, a townhouse that was probably much nicer in its heyday. It was only a shell of itself now. And there was clearly a fight, but we came out strapped only to see Johnny come out the back.

"Isaribi, what are you–"

"Where's Brian, Johnny?" Isaribi asked.

"He's gone. He's already dead inside." Johnny mused.

"So you killed him?" Danica asked.

"No, I let him g-"

I didn't give a damn that Johnny was bigger than me or was my 'superior' at that moment. It was funny because you'd think with my friendship with Niko that it was him helping Roman's kidnapping that would push me over the line. Yes, it would have…but Johnny sparing Jeremy happened first. I exploded.

"Are you fucking kidding me? After all that spineless sycophant did…YOU LET HIM GO!" Isaribi roared.

"Hey, I made the cal-"

"Fuck your call, and quite frankly Johnny, fuck you. You clearly don't give a shit. You say you do, but you let people think it's ok to walk all over me. You let them use slurs on me with no consequence. And now, Brian causes a civil war, numerous deaths, and you're just going to let him go. After he nearly gets the daughter of one of your prospects killed. No, I'm done with you and I'm done being the Lost's whipping girl." Isaribi roared again, cutting Johnny off before walking away.

Danica glared at Johnny.

"Consider this my resignation and the end of our business relationship." Danica said before flipping him off and leaving.

I really was done as Danica was and I had left him there. Johnny had tried to call, but I ignored it. My focus was finding Brian Jeremy and we'd find him not too far away after a few hours trying to call for any backup he had left. I remember that it was the place I found the Sultan RS, how fitting…

"Isaribi, I…"

Isaribi shot him in the right kneecap with a deagle as he fell to his knees. She pistol whipped him into the ground, managing to knock out a tooth. Danica promptly took the phone, hanging up the call before turning the phone off.

"Stay down." Isaribi growled.

"Fuck both of you…." Brian spat.

He tried to get up only to get pistol whipped by Danica before she kicked him into his stomach which had him drop his gun.

"Not so tough without Billy having your back." Isaribi said before whirling him into his back. "This is it, the end of the line. If Johnny doesn't have the stones, I'll kill you…and Billy's next. So…"

They both aimed their deagles down at his face.

"Any last words?" Isaribi asked.

We didn't let him speak, we just fired right into his face. I remember the blood splatter that came off his skull.

"Not like you had anything of value to say." Isaribi said before taking his keys. "But you had something of value."

Danica took his wallet.

"Let's get out of here…any mooks still loyal to him and Billy are going to be looking for him." Danica remarked.

"I got a place in Alderney, but I'm going to need you to buy some shoes for myself. Unless…" Isaribi said before checking her bag. "Ok, got the old Hinterland boots. The dark ones too. Come on, I got an apartment in Alderney."

Isaribi swapped her boots before getting rid of the bloody boots.

I made sure to dispose of those bloody boots before taking off on Brian's cherry red Diabolus. Danica followed me to the place. The safehouse is very basic, and slightly dilapidated. I wasn't expecting a luxury condo given it was the Pegorinos, but it was barely a step above the one in Broker.

"So the Pegorinos give you and Niko this dump. They didn't even fix up the place and get you a new television." Danica said in disbelief. "Considering where the boss supposedly lives, and where Ray lives…"

"Honestly, I'm just glad I have a place in Alderney…" Isaribi remarked before seeing a text from Tony to see him in the morning for work. "And I'm calling it a night."

I would have slept there, but I ended up getting a call from Angus. I expected him to lambast me for killing Brian. But he had other words for me.

"You don't need to say anything. I get it." Agnus remarked.

"You do?" Isaribi remarked.

"I do and personally you did the right thing. But Hank's used to justify giving you the ax from the group along with you chewing out Johnny." Angus remarked. "So you're really on your own."

"I'm not alone. I have actual friends…" Isaribi remarked. "Ones who actually have my back. You going to tell him?"

"No. I just wanted to call you for what's likely to be the last time…"

It wouldn't be the last we'd meet though.

"I want you to have something. It's at the Acter Industrial Park Police Station…I was going to give it to Johnny. But I want you to have it…there's a cop expecting a Lost van. You'll have to get one."

"I got one. Thanks, Agnus." Isaribi said before hanging up. "So I guess we're leaving."

With the van that Danica had gotten her mitts on, I had put Brian's bike in the back before we went to the police station to see what was the gift. It was in the impound lot…and it was Billy's Revenant. Honestly, a hell of a gift. But I cherished it out of appreciation and amusement. It only made me have a goal that I'd see Billy just one last time before I kill him.

(A/N: And that's she got Brian Jeremy and Billy Grey's bikes. Given that Brian Jeremy's random encounter isn't required for 100% completion, I figured I'd take advantage of this. Yeah, I did take TheProfessional's take of Johnny in mind in why Johnny spared him. And in the end, Isaribi quit the Lost MC before they could kick her out. While they did, people would basically see it as 'You can't fire me, I already quit.' But now back to the present. (And yes, I skipped High Dive but Luis had filled Isaribi with the details.)
