Over the next couple of days, Harry and I packed up my flat.
I sold all the furniture because Hogwarts was providing it. We moved my stuff into our new set of rooms. When entering the apartment, I noticed that the room reminded me of the Gryffindor common room. The walls were red with gold accents and there was a fireplace for a fire, and another fireplace for travel.
In front of the fireplace was a small couch. I looked to the other door and walked in. It was the bedroom. I gulped. Harry must have seen it and came to the rescue. "You can put your stuff in the dresser." He said. I nodded and did it without a word. I just realized that Harry and I would be sleeping in the same bed.
We had never even kissed, how were we supposed to be married? I came out of the bedroom as fast as I could and Went to the bathroom.
There was a tub and shower in it. I put my things in it and walked out. Harry was sitting at his desk grading papers. I turned to him. "Ok, I'm all done." I said. He smiled and turned to me. "I guess I'll be seeing you tomorrow." He joked. I smiled. Tomorrow was our wedding. I sighed and looked around.
"I'll be the one in white." I replied. Harry smiled and pulled me in for a hug. He smelled of sandalwood and fireplace.
I sighed and pulled away. I'll see you tomorrow. I said and walked out of the apartment. I watched as Harry went back to grading papers. I turned and left, not looking behind me.
I woke up at the burrow the next day and headed downstairs for breakfast. Mrs. Weasley was busy cooking. I smiled. "Good morning, dear." She said.
I smiled. "Good morning." I said. Mrs. Weasley turned to me and put a plate of food in front of me. "You need to eat." She said. I nodded and ate. When I had finished. Mrs. Weasley turned to me with a serious face. "Now Dear, I talked with Ginny and she told me everything." She said.
I sighed. "I know, Harry told me. I just don't want him to resent me for not being Ginny." I said. Mrs. Weasley nodded. "I understand dear, just give him some time. He will fall in love with you soon enough." She said. I nodded still not believing what Mrs. Weasley was saying. How could Harry fall in love with me? He loved Ginny and she broke his heart.
How could I compete with the memory of Ginny? I sighed and got up. "Let's get you ready dear, the wedding is in an hour." She said. I nodded and headed upstairs.
I was standing in my wedding dress waiting to walk down the aisle to Harry. I could see him. He had chosen a nice black suit with a blue shirt and white tie. He looked so handsome. I heard the music begin and knew it was my que to walk. So, I did.
I walked up to Harry who had a smile on his face.
When I reached the alter, Harry spoke to me. "You look beautiful." He said. I smiled.
"Thanks, you look very handsome in your suit." I said. Harry nodded. "Thanks." We turned to the minister and waited for him to begin.
"We are gathered here today to join Harry Potter and Hermione Granger in Holy Matrimony. Today Harry and Hermoine will exchange vows to be together forever. As you well know, a wizard's and witch's marriage is forever, there is no divorce. So, upon saying this let us begin." He said.
The minister turned to me. "Hermoine, do you take Harry to be your husband, in sickness and in health, for rich or for poor?" he asked.
I looked at harry who took my hands and lightly squeezed them in encouragement. "I do." I said.
The minister smiled and turned to Harry. "Harry, do you take Hermoine to be your wife, in sickness and in health, for rich or for poor?" He asked.
Harry looked at me in silence. I started to get worried. Did he really want this? The answer was no, but to stand me up at the alter?
That would hurt. But then, Harry let out a breath he was holding and spoke. "I do." He said. The minister smiled. I let out a breath of relief.
"With the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife, wizard and witch. You may kiss your bride." He said. Harry smiled and took a step closer to me. He gave me a quick peck on the lips and everyone cheered. Suddenly, I looked at our fingers and magic wedding rings appeared.
Harry and looked at each other, knowing full well that we were now being tracked. Harry took my hand and we headed to the Burrow.
Once alone, Harry spoke. "I know this is not a normal marriage, but I want to do it right." He said. I nodded.
"I want this to work, no matter where my heart is at." He said. I sighed.
"Harry, I'm sorry that you had to marry me." I said. Harry stopped.
"Hermoine, It's not that I didn't want to marry you, it's the fact that Ginny broke my heart and now I don't know who to trust, but with you, I know I can trust you." He said. I smiled. "Harry, I will always tell you the truth." I said. Harry nodded.
"Shall we go to our reception?" he asked. I smiled. "Yes." I said while taking his hand.
We walked into our reception with happy cheers from our guests and even Ron was smiling with Lavendar hanging on his right arm.
I smiled. I was happy that Ron was taking this so well.
I just hoped that He did not have the problem of getting hurt and having to trust people like Harry did.
Harry had a lot of scars from the war, physical and emotional. I didn't want to cause another scar, but Harry said he wanted this marriage to be real, so I decided to take a step forward and do just that.
I was married and this is what life would look like.
The rest of the reception was wonderful. People were dancing and the wine glasses were charmed to always be full. The food was wonderful, thanks to Mrs. Weasley and the decorations were beautiful.
I sighed and looked around. This was a wonderful day and I wanted to take it all in so I would not forget it.
Eventually, Harry asked me to dance. I smiled and took his hand and we danced to some beautiful music.
"So, I know there are rules for our marriage." He said. I sighed. "yes, we have 24 hours before we have to consummate the marriage." I said.
Harry turned white and I quickly spoke to calm him down. "But we don't have to do it right away. We could wait." I said.
Harry sighed. "I don't want to get into trouble. We will do it, but I don't want to pressure you." He said.
"I know you are a virgin." He said. I nodded. "Yes, I am." I said.
"But I know you will be kind with me. Let's not focus on that and focus on our wedding reception and how all our family and friends have come to support us." I said.
Harry smiled. "Hermoine, you always know what to say to calm me down." He said.
I smiled. "That's because your my best friend of 7 years. I know you." I said.
Harry nodded in agreement. Soon, the music ended and Harry and I went our separate ways to greet our guest and chat.
By the end of the night it was time to go. Harry took my hand and we traveled by floo to our new Hogwarts apartment.
I didn't know what the night was going to be like, only that I was scared as a hippogriff with a tied tail.
