So Barney, the Winkster, Winkette, Dani, and Aaron headed on their way to where the home of Miss Mildred Goldfinch is. But to get there, the group of five had to go through the woods. But since the forest was deep and full of trees and bushes, it made the atmosphere not as light despite it was currently broad daylight. And just this small little detail made Winkette nervous thanks to her nyctophobia.

"You feeling okay, Winkette?" Dani asked Winkette, seeing how nervous the woman was.

"What's wrong?" Aaron asked Winkette.

"Ummm…" said Winkette, nervously. "It's kind of dark in these woods…"

"Are you scared of the dark?" Dani wondered.

"Y-Yes…!" said Winkette.

"It's okay, Winkette," said Dani.

"It is?" said Winkette, surprised to hear Dani say that. "But Dani, I'm a grown-up. I shouldn't be afraid of things like that…"

"Well, some childhood fears aren't easily outgrown," said Dani.

"Yeah?" said Winkette.

"Oh yeah," said Dani. "I'm a child myself. And fears that you've had since you were a kid are nothing to be ashamed of."

"Oh…" said Winkette. "Sorry, I'm just really afraid of the dark.

She then turns around and says to the group, "You guys go on without me. I can't do this…"

Winkette was about to walk back when the Winkster pulled their back.

"Hold it, Winkette!" he said to his sister. "Where do you think you're going?"

"Back to Dani's house," said Winkette. "I don't want to stay in this woods…"

"Winkette, I know you're afraid of the dark," said the Winkster, "but you have to come with us. You were the one that found the egg, right? So therefore, you are part of this whole thing."

"Mmmm…!" Winkette said all scared.

"Winkette…?" the Winkster said, as he tries to comfort his sister. "Whenever you feel scared, just hold my hand. Just like what you did last night."

Winkette looks at the Winkster.

"It's okay, sis…" said the Winkster. "I'm right here…I'm not going to leave your sight…"

Winkette gently grabs her brother's hand and holds onto it as the brother and sister were now hand in hand.

"There you go…" said the Winkster. "Now come on, we've got a bird lady to find."

The group walk through the woods together. But along the way, they suddenly got lost as Dani ended up not knowing the entire way as it has been a whole year since she and her mother went to see Miss Goldfinch.

"Dani?" Aaron said. "I think we're lost…"

"Are we...?" Dani wondered.

Dani realized that she wasn't familiar to where she and the rest where currently at.

"You're right, Aaron!" said Dani, starting to panic. "We are lost!"

"Oh no!" said Aaron, starting to panic as well. "What'll we do?!"

"Now don't panic, everyone," said Barney. "We'll find our way to our destination. Just stay calm."

Barney and the kids then noticed that the Winkster and Winkette were gone.

"Oh no…" said Dani, getting nervous. "The twins are gone!"

"Then we better go look for them," Aaron said. "We can't leave them behind on our trip."

The two kids start calling for the twins.

"Winkster?!" Aaron shouted. "Winkster, where are you?!"

"Winkette?!" Dani shouted. "Winkette!"

"Hey guys!" Winkette said.

Dani and Aaron gasp as they see both the Winkster and Winkette standing with each other a few steps away.

"Look what we found!" the Winkster said.

The twins show the group a sign on a tree trunk that was in the shape of a swan that read "Goldfinch" on it.

"Taaa daaaa!" the Winkster and Winkette cried in unison, as they point to the direction the sign was pointing towards. "That way!"

Everyone continues to walk through the forest together. And in just a minute later, they see the house of Miss Goldfinch as they walked out of the woods.

"There it is!" Dani cried happily.

"Wooooow!" cried Aaron.

"It's beautiful!" said Winkette, then seeing so many different species of birds on the property. "Oh my goodness! Look at all these birds, Winkster!"

"Oh my!" said the Winkster, shocked at the amount of birds were around. "By golly gee willikers! There are so many birds all over the place!"

"I've never seen so many birds in my life!" said Winkette, shocked as well. "Especially not different birds of the world!"

"Me neither!" said the Winkster. "This is amazing! Unreal!"

Just then, a male peacock approached Winkette.

"Why hello there!" Winkette softly said to the peacock. "My, what a pretty boy you are! So blue and green…And-WHOA!"

Winkette got spooked by the peacock quickly fanning out its feathers.

"Winkette, are you okay?!" the Winkster asked.

"You saw what this peacock did?!" Winkette said.

"No what?" said the Winkster, then seeing the peacock with its feathers out. "Oh. That."

The peacock started to shake its feathers as it started walking towards Winkette.

"What is it doing?" the Winkster wondered.

"Uhhh Winkster?" Dani said, recognizing the behavior from the bird. "I think it likes your sister…"

"Really?" said the Winkster.

"Yeah…" said Dani.

"You're saying that like it's a bad thing," said the Winkster.

He then realizes the way Dani worded the male peacock's behavior. It meant that the bird fans their feathers and then shakes them since the male is wanting a female.

"Wait a minute…!" said the Winkster, feeling a bit uneasy. "My sister is a human! A bird can't be interested in her like THAT!"

Because Winkette's outfit was very colorful, the female bird species' that were brown ran towards her as they found her attractive, while also mistaking her for a male bird of some kind due to her colors.

"Aaahh!" Winkette shouted, starting to run. "Guys, do something!"

"What do you want us to do?!" asked the Winkster, watching this happen.

Winkette then thought of an idea. Because the Winkster's outfit was also very colorful like hers, she grabs her brother and pushes him towards the birds.

"Here's your man, ladies!" Winkette said to the female birds. "Come and get him!"

The female birds start chasing the Winkster.

"AAAHH!" shouted the Winkster, as he started to run.

Dani and Aaron as well as Barney started laughing at this scene along with Winkette.

"Guys, come on!" the Winkster said. "I'm a human man, not a bird!"

The Winkster then felt his hat being snatched right off his head by a green parrot and shouted, "Hey! Give that back!" as he goes after the parrot.

"Come back!" the Winkster shouted while chasing the parrot. "That's my hat! It's mine!"

Winkette giggles as she follows her brother.

"Jumping jay birds!" someone said, seeing Barney and the two kids. "Looks like we have company calling."

It was Miss Goldfinch.

"Hello Miss Goldfinch!" Dani said.

"Hello!" Miss Goldfinch, approaching the group. "I remember you. You must be Dani."

"That's right," said Dani, with a smile.

"And who's this?" Miss Goldfinch asked, seeing Aaron next to Dani.

"This is my new friend, Aaron," said Dani. "He moved into the neighborhood last Christmas."

"Pleased to meet you, Aaron," Miss Goldfinch said to the boy, shaking his hand.

"Ditto," said Aaron, smiling.

"And this is our other friend, Barney the Dinosaur," Dani said to Miss Goldfinch.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Goldfinch," Barney said.

"We have two more new friends as well," said Dani. "But where are they…?"

Everyone looks over as they see the Winkster trying to retrieve his hat from the green parrot, while Winkette was following from behind.

"There they are!" Aaron cried, pointing to the twins.

"Will you drop it already?!" the Winkster said to the parrot.

The green parrot squawks as it kept holding the hat with its beak.

"Wait!" said Winkette, as she had just thought of an idea. "Winkster!"

Winkette whispers something in her brother's ear.

"It's worth a try," said the Winkster.

Winkette climbed onto her brother's hands as he lifted her up. And when the parrot flew in their direction, the Winkster threw his sister into the air as she grabbed her brother's hat from the bird. And when Winkette came back down, the Winkster quickly catches her in his arms.

"Thanks Winkster," Winkette said.

"No problem, Winkette," the Winkster said, as he sets his sister down on her feet.

"Here you go, brother," Winkette said, giving her brother his hat back.

The Winkster smiles as he accepts his hat and puts it on his head.

"Thank you, sis," he said, as he gives his twin sister a little kiss on the cheek.

Winkette just giggled.

"That was amazing!" Dani cried.

"Totally!" Aaron cried.

The Winkster and Winkette didn't notice the kids saw their physical trick as they both said, "Huh?" in unison while in confusion.

"We just saw what you two did over there!" said Aaron.

"You two really are nimble as can be!" said Dani.

"Thank you very much!" said the Winkster, as he laughed happily, "Whoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo!"

Dani and Aaron were both surprised at the way the Winkster laughed

"That's a very interesting laugh you got there, Winkster," said Aaron.

"Yeah!" said Dani. "It's cool! I like it!"

"Heh heh, thanks," said the Winkster, with a chuckle.

The Winkster and Winkette then noticed Miss Goldfinch standing with Barney and the two kids.

"Is that Miss Goldfinch?" Winkette asked.

"I think so," said the Winkster, then saying to Miss Goldfinch, "Hello there, ma'am."

"Hello there," Miss Goldfinch said. "Who might you be?"

"I'm the Winkster," said the Winkster, then saying as he hugs Winkette, "This is Winkette. She's my sister."

"Hi," Winkette said.

"Nice to meet you both," Miss Goldfinch said to the twins. "Now what seems to be the problem? You must have one since you came here to see me, right?"

"Why yes we do, Miss Goldfinch," said the Winkster.

Winkette takes the big egg out of the basket and shows it to Miss Goldfinch as she said to her, "We have a question about an egg. This egg right here."

"Ouch," Miss Goldfinch said, noticing its size. "I'd hate to be that bird who laid this egg."

"Winkette found it in our shed last night," said the Winkster. "But my sister and I don't own any birds as pets. So we don't know what kind of egg this is or where it came from. Do you happen to know something about this egg, Miss Goldfinch?"

"I'm not sure what kind of egg this is," said Miss Goldfinch said, examining the egg. "We'll have to bring it inside my house to check it out."

"Okay," the Winkster said, then saying to Winkette, "I hope Miss Goldfinch can help give us information about this egg, Winkette."

"I hope so, too, Winkster," Winkette said, looking at the egg in her basket. "I don't know what we'll do if we can't figure this out…"

Miss Goldfinch then blew a whistle that made a certain sound, activating a small bird animatronic dressed like a hotel bellhop. And as the tiny animatronic pressed a button, something was slowly lowering in front of the group, turning out to be an elevator that looked like a large birdcage.

"Oh, it's an elevator!" Winkette said all amazed at what was in front of her.

"Woooooow!" Dani and Aaron said, all amazed as well.

"How come we don't have an elevator in our house, Winkster?" Winkette said to her brother.

"We don't really need one, Winkette," said the Winkster. "It's not like we live in a mansion or anything like that."

"Oh…" said Winkette.

Just then, the same green parrot who took the Winkster's hat a few minutes ago landed on his shoulder and started squawking and whistling.

"Get out of here, you hat thief," he said to the parrot. "Shoo!"

"Whoo hoo hoo hoo!" the parrot squawked, imitating the Winkster's laugh. "Whoo hoo hoo hoo!"

"Ugh…" the Winkster said, all annoyed.

"Wow, he learned that real quick!" Winkette giggled. "Hehehe!"

The Winkster then slightly jerked his body, causing the parrot to get off his shoulder and fly away.

"Good riddance!" he exclaimed.

He sees his sister giggling at him as he shouted at her, "Shut it!"

Winkette stopped giggling as she goes silent. Everyone then gets into the birdcage elevator.

"Where did all these birds come from, Miss Goldfinch?" Aaron asked Miss Goldfinch.

"You see, Aaron," Miss Goldfinch said. "People from all over the world send me their pet birds that are sick. And once I help them get well, they're back to their owners. But most of the birds want to stay here believe it or not. And that's why I tell you, I buy birdseed by the barrel."

"Very interesting," said Aaron.

"Wonder how much that all costs…" Winkette thought to herself.

Just then, as the elevator started to slowly go up, a man driving a truck, Mr. Millet, arrived to deliver the barrel of birdseed for Miss Goldfinch.

"How you doin' today, Miss Goldfinch?!" Mr. Millet said, waving with a smile.

"Hey Mr. Millet!" Miss Goldfinch said, as she waves back.

She then said to the group, "That's Mr. Millet. He's making his weekly delivery of the birdseed I use to feed the birds."

"That sure is a lot of birdseed, I'll say!" Winkette said, seeing the size of the barrel.

Winkette then said to her brother, "Hey Winkster, you ever want to try some birdseed maybe?"

"What?!" said the Winkster. "No way! It'll taste awful!"

"How about with shaving cream on it…?" Winkette said, smiling comedically.

The Winkster sees Winkette was hinting at him for the prank he pulled on her this morning when he squirted shaving cream on his sister's pancakes instead of whipped cream.

"Okay...I get it..." the Winkster said.

"I thought so…" said Winkette. "Hehehe!"

The elevator stopped as the group was now in the library of Miss Goldfinch's house. Everyone was very amazed at not only the amount of books there were on the selves, but at the look of the room's interior as well.

"Oooooh myyyyy…" Winkette said, very astonished. "Winkster, look how colorful this room is!"

"Woooooooooooow…" the Winkster said, very astonished as well. "And I thought our house was the only colorful place around here!"

"So did I!" said Winkette, looking around the library. "Well, good to know we're not the only ones with fun taste."

"Oh yeah!" said the Winkster. "Whoo hoo hoo hoo!"

"Welcome to my library, friends," Miss Goldfinch said, as she shows them her egg collection. "This is my collection of empty eggshells. Everything from hummingbirds to ostriches!"

"Ooooo!" Barney said, all impressed. "Eggcellent!"

"Eggstraordinary!" the Winkster and Winkette said, all impressed as well.

"Well, if we want to find out about the egg," said Barney, "we sure have come to the right place, haven't we, kids?"

"We sure have!" said Dani.

"Mmm hmm!" said Aaron.

So Barney, the Winkster, Winkette, Dani, Aaron, and Miss Goldfinch tried to figure out the egg's history. They look in every single book in the library, but nothing was coming up.

"I really want to know about this egg!" said Aaron.

"Me too!" said Dani.

"And me!" said Winkette.

"So do I!" said the Winkster.

While continuing to try to figure out what the egg was all about, the group ran over to a table as they saw the egg suddenly moving slightly on its own in the basket. Then everyone started to look at the egg as it shook.

"What's happening?" said Aaron.

"There's something living in it!" said the Winkster. "How else would it be moving like this?!"

"Is it ready to hatch already?" Winkette asked.

"Beats me…" the Winkster said. "It's only been around for not even 24 hours. I don't get it…!"

Just then, the second ring from the bottom on the egg started to glow brightly.

"Winkster look!" Winkette said, with a gasp. "Another ring is glowing!"

"Oh wow!" said the Winkster, with a gasp as well. "It is!"

The ring stopped glowing as it left behind a shade of orange.

"So we have a pink ring and an orange ring," Winkette said. "Wonder what the next color will be…"

"Winkster?" Dani said to the Winkster, looking up at him.

"Yes Dani?" the Winkster said.

"You said you and your sister saw the first ring glow last night?" said Dani.

"That's right," said the Winkster.

"What does this mean?" Dani asked. "Do you know?"

"No I don't," said the Winkster. "I don't know what this means…"

"Do you know, Winkette?" Dani asked Winkette.

"I don't know either," said Winkette. "Though I wish I did…"

"We checked every book in this library," said the Winkster. "And we don't have any answers…"

"What will we do now…?" Winkette asked.

Just as everyone was starting to lose hope, the Winkster spotted something in the room.

"Hey, what's that…?" he said.

"What's what, Winkster?" Miss Goldfinch said.

The Winkster points to a book that was underneath one of the legs of a chair as he walked towards it.

"Oh that!" said Miss Goldfinch. "Don't mind it, I just use that old book to keep the chair from wiggling. I don't even know its title."

"Why don't you look at it, Winkster?" Winkette suggested. "It's another book."

"Sure," said the Winkster, as he takes the book off the floor and looks at it "You're right, Miss Goldfinch. It doesn't have a title. Not on the front cover, the back, or the spine."

He then paused as he noticed something else about the book as he said, "Wait a minute…"

The Winkster looks at the cover of the book again and notices a picture on it. It was of an egg very similar to the one Winkette found last night.

"Winkette!" the Winkster said to his sister. "Is that the egg?!"

"Is it?!" said Winkette, running over to her brother.

She looks at the picture on the front of the book and said, "Oh, I think it is! This might finally answer our questions!"

"I hope so!" said the Winkster, then saying to Miss Goldfinch as he hands her the book, "Miss Goldfinch? Can you tell us more about this egg?"

"I'd be glad to," said Miss Goldfinch, accepting the book from the Winkster. "Thank you."

Miss Goldfinch sits in a chair at the table as everyone gathers round to hear the story about the egg.

"It says here that there is a dream maker inside this egg," Miss Goldfinch said, reading the book.

"A dream maker?" everyone said.

"What does it look like?" Winkette asked.

"I don't know," said Miss Goldfinch, noticing a good amount of the book's pages are missing. "A lot of the pages are missing…"

"Anything else?" said the Winkster. "There should be a reason why the egg came here in the first place."

"Yes," said Miss Goldfinch, as she continues to read the book. "Every one thousand years or so, an egg falls from the skies. Inside the shell, the dream maker prepares its big surprise. A visitor from days gone by, who has a gift to share for boys and girls around the world, for children everywhere. But mark you well the very spot where first the egg is found. For when the colors all have changed, it must hatch on this ground."

"Hmmm…" the Winkster and Winkette said, thinking.

"What does she mean by that, Barney?" Dani asked Barney.

"It means the egg can only hatch where Winkette and the Winkster found it," said Barney.

"But also once all these rings light up?" Aaron said.

"That's right," said Barney.

"There's five rings in total," said Winkette, looking at the egg. "And only two of them are lit up so far. So there's three more to go."

She gasps and said as she grabs the egg, "I have to bring this egg back home to my shed right away!"

"How about I hold the egg this time, Winkette?" said the Winkster, taking the egg from his sister.

"No way, Winkster," Winkette said, taking the egg back from her brother. "I'm taking this egg back to our shed."

"I saw it first!" the Winkster said, taking the egg right back from her.

Winkette grabbed the egg as the two started fighting over it as they were pulling it back and forth.

"I was the one that found this egg!" Winkette said.

"I was the one that found the book explaining its origin!" the Winkster said.

"I want it!" said Winkette.

"No I want it!" said the Winkster.

"Give it to me!" Winkette demanded.

"Let it go!" the Winkster demanded.

"You're going to drop it!" Winkette said.

The egg slipped out of their hands. The twins gasp hard as the egg landed on the floor. Luckily, the egg was still intact with no cracks. But it rolled through an opening in the wall as it went outside onto a plank as it was wobbling on the edge.

"OH NO!" Winkette shouted.

She runs over to the window and sees the egg about to fall off the plank.

"NO!" shouted Winkette. "DON'T FALL! STOP!"

"Somebody catch it!" Dani shouted.

But before anyone could do anything, the egg fell off the plank and went down fast. It then landed into a barrel of birdseed without a scratch. Seeing this, Miss Goldfinch, Barney, and Aaron quickly went into the elevator as it started to go down.

"I'm taking the fast way!" Winkette said.

Winkette jumps onto a giant cuckoo clock pinecone weight as she is pushed down faster than the elevator. But she was in such a hurry that she left behind her basket. Dani grabs the basket as she tried to get Winkette's attention.

"Winkette, you forgot the basket!" Dani called out to Winkette. "Winkette! You forgot-"

The little girl sees that the elevator was gone and she said, "Oh no, how am I going to get outside?!"

She realizes that the Winkster was still here and hasn't gotten a chance to leave the library. The child quickly goes to him for help.

"Winkster!" Dani cried. "Winkster help!"

"Dani, what's wrong?!" the Winkster said.

"Your sister forgot her basket!" said Dani. "And we're going to lose the egg!"

"We better get it back then!" said the Winkster.

"But how do we get outside?!" Dani asked. "The elevator's gone!"

"Don't worry, I got this!" the Winkster said, as he grabs Dani and lifts her up. "Now hang on!"

The Winkster jumps onto the other giant clock weight as he started being lowered down fast while holding onto Dani.

"Hold on tight!" said the Winkster.

"Okay!" said Dani, holding onto him as she was enjoying the ride. "Weeeeeeeeeeee!"

The two then reach the ground outside as the Winkster jumps off the clock weight.

"You good, Dani?" the Winkster asked Dani, setting her back on her feet.

"Yeah," said Dani. "Thanks for the ride, Winkster. That was very fast! Or rather, quick!"

"Quick as a wink!" said the Winkster, as he winks at the child.

He then spots Winkette running after the truck Mr. Millet was driving since the egg was in the back of it.

"Wait Mr. Millet!" the Winkster shouted. "Stop! You have our egg!"

"Get back here!" Winkette said. "Come back!"

But she was no match for the truck and couldn't outrun it. Mr. Millet drove away. Upset that she lost the egg, Winkette went on her knees and pounded the ground in anger with her fists. Seeing his sister was upset, the Winkster ran over to her and stood her back up on her feet. But she was mad. Very mad!

"Now look what you've done, Winkster!" Winkette said, angrily.

"Me?!" said the Winkster. "Winkette, now look what YOU'VE done! You lost the egg!"

"I did not!" Winkette said. "You did! You dropped it!"

"No you did!" the Winkster said. "YOU dropped it!"

"Did not!" said Winkette.

"Did too!" said the Winkster.

"Clumsy!" said Winkette.

"Double clumsy!" said the Winkster.

"Triple clumsy!" Winkette said.

"Quadruple clumsy!" the Winkster said.

"Clumsy to infinity!" Winkette said.

"Clumsy to infinity PLUS ONE!" the Winkster said.

The fight between the twins started to get ugly as the brother and sister got physical with each other.

"Hey, wait a minute!" Dani said, running over to the twins. "Winkster! Winkette!"

"Whoa whoa, break it up!" Aaron said, running over to help.

The Winkster and Winkette stopped fighting as they stuck their tongues out at each other.

"Fighting isn't going to solve anything, you two," said Dani.

"So what should we do?!" said Winkette, getting upset. "We can't get the egg on foot!"

"We should use our imaginations!" Aaron suggested.

"Great idea, Aaron!" said Dani.

"Using our imaginations?" the Winkster said.

"What good would that do at a time like this?!" Winkette asked.

"It's worth a try," said Aaron.

"I'll imagine with you, Winkette," the Winkster said to his sister. "Okay?"

"Okay Winkster…" said Winkette, as she and her brother held both their hands.

The twins and the kids started to imagine. And in a few seconds, Dani and Aaron found themselves on a horse!

"Whoa!" Dani and Aaron cried.

"Wooooowie!" Dani said.

"Hop on, you two!" Aaron said to the twins.

"I don't think we can!" said the Winkster.

"Why not?!" asked Dani.

"Well," said the Winkster, "two young children, two fully grown adults, and a big purple dinosaur would be too much weight and break the horse's legs!"

The kids realized that he was right about that.

"I think you're right, Winkster…" Dani said, with a frown. "Aww…"

"But how will you and your sister get around?" Aaron wondered.

"Winkette and I can disappear and reappear at will, remember?" said the Winkster.

"Oh right!" said Dani. "But can you two outrun a moving vehicle at high speed?"

"Ehhh…" the Winkster and Winkette said, with a small sweat.

"Oh! I have it!" cried Winkette, as she thinks of a solution.

She then said to her brother, "Winkster, let's imagine again. Keep holding my hands, I have something in mind."

"Okay Winkette," said the Winkster. "Do your stuff."

The twins continue to hold both hands as they started to imagine again. Then a few seconds later, both the Winkster and Winkette were on roller skates complete with each a helmet and protective knee and elbow padding.

"Oh wow!" said the Winkster. "Nice thinking, sis!"

"Thanks!" said Winkette. "I think this will work since we'll be faster now!"

"Well, all we can do is hope for the best," the Winkster said. "You ready, Winkette?"

"I'm ready, Winkster," Winkette said.

"We'll see you guys in a bit!" the Winkster said to Barney and the kids, then saying to Winkette, "Let's go, sis!"

"Yeah!" said Winkette.

"Good luck on your adventure!" said Miss Goldfinch.

"Thanks Miss Goldfinch!" said Dani. "Bye!"

"See you later!" said Aaron.

"It was nice meeting you!" said Barney. "Let's go, everyone! We gotta catch that truck and get the egg back!"
