The Scotts
Chapter 2
Brooke took a deep breath and put a smile on her face as she headed into the kitchen. She had grown up here in this home but throughout the years of her marriage they had made various renovations to made it more warm and comfy. Which is the polar opposite of what it was like growing up with her parents.
She had given her husband alot to take in fresh off a plane at.
"Brooke. I really appreciated you letting me stay these past few days but its clear he doesn't want me here."
"And i don't want to cause problems for you and you're husband."
"I can leave right now and i won't be a problem anymore." Sam suggested.
The expression on Brooke's face softened.
"You aren't a problem Sam. Yes Lucas was caught off guard but i'm going to give him some time. He will adjust to this."
"You can't go back to living in a car or another group home."
"If not there you'll end up on the streets and i wouldn't be able live my life here knowing you felt thrown away by me."
"Stay. Let's work this out." Brooke insisted.
Sam looked to her. "You really care about me don't you?" She asked.
"Yes i do. Now you had dessert. How are you and the baby feeling?" Brooke questioned.
"We're great. This kid is kicking and moving all over. On a sugar high i guess." "Do you want to feel it?" Sam asked.
Brooke smiled shyly and nodded her head.
Sam took her hand and placed it on her belly.
Brooke stared in amazement as she felt movement.
"How far along are you? Have you been to the doctor?" Brooke questioned.
"I don't know and i haven't seen a doctor i didn't need them asking questions and being unable to give out an adress on those stupid forms you have to fill out."
"I just figure everything is okay because i'm getting bigger and feeling kicks." Sam admitted.
"I'm going to make an appointment with doctor. We are going to get you and the baby checked out."
"We'll make a day of it." Brooke announced.
"You don't have to do that." Sam insisted.
"I want too. Get some sleep." Brooke replied.
Sam nodded her head and left the kitchen.
...
Brooke made her way out of the kitchen and entered her husband's home office.
"Have you calmed down? Can we talk about this now?" Brooke questioned.
"I called Haley. Sam just showed up in her class one day. According to what she's heard. Sam had no other schools listed."
"No contact information."
"I think you're making a mistake." Lucas confessed.
"Sam has been in the foster system since she was little. Abandoned by her mom. Never knew her dad. Just being moved around. Until she got tired of it and ran away."
"She's been unwanted and lonley for a long time."
"I want her to see that someone cares about her. That she doesn't have to live life alone." Brooke explained.
Lucas sighed deeply. It was obvious that his wife had made up her mind about this girl.
"She can stay for now." Lucas replied.
"It'll be nice to have a kid around." Brooke replied.
"Welcome home." Brooke said. Leaning over kissing him.
Lucas kissed her back.
