The six weeks leading up to graduation went past quickly. Rory and Paris were both so distracted by finals and interviews connected to their future that they barely had time to sit down and talk, which meant that here they are now, the night before graduation and neither of them actually knows what the other's plans are.

"Paris! The chinese food is here," Rory yells as she locks the door after paying for the food. Even after they moved to a better apartment, some of the habits from the old place hung around.

"I'm coming, I'm coming," Paris shouted from her bedroom. "You better not be trying to steal any of my general tso chicken," she said as she rounded the corner of the kitchen, only to see Rory looking sheepish with a fork in her hand.

"Would you like some of my kung pao chicken?" Rory asked innocently, as she divided the egg rolls between plates.

"Well seeing as you have had some of my chicken, I might as well have some of yours now." Paris replied. Rory at least had the good sense to look repentant as she gave Paris an extra egg roll.

"I can't believe we graduate tomorrow," Rory said, sitting down on the couch with her food and a glass of wine.

"Me either Gilmore. I think I'm finally getting rid of you."

"What are you doing after graduation, Paris? I have barely seen you recently to find out."

"Well first Doyle and I are taking a vacation, he is picking the destination, I told him to surprise me."

"Which means that you gave him almost exact instructions for two places and told him to book one?" Rory asked, watching Paris nod affirmatively.

"After that, well I have the summer free, because come fall I am going to Harvard Med school!"

"Oh My God Paris," Rory exclaimed, dropping her fork, and quickly pulling her still eating friend into an embrace.

"Breathe Gilmore, I need air."

"Sorry, I was just excited for you. I can't believe it. Harvard, it's your dream. And you got in even though you are having sex," Rory added, unable to resist poking fun at her best friend's reaction back at Chilton.

"Haha, very funny Gilmore. But yes I'm moving to Boston." Paris states, beginning to eat again.

"Boston, not Cambridge?" Rory asks.

"Yep, Doyle got a position at the Boston Globe so it makes more sense to be there, for now anyway."

"Wow, I'm speechless. I'm so excited for you guys. Do you want any help finding a place? I can ask my Dad for help to make sure you get a good area, he has been in Boston a while now."

"That would be really helpful, thanks. What about you Gilmore? I know you were uncertain about your plans after your breakdown last year."

"Hey!" Rory exclaims.

"What? It's the truth." Paris states with a shrug.

"Still, it's not nice to throw it at me." Rory says with a pout.

"That face doesn't work on me Gilmore, I'm not one of your guys."

"I don't have any guys," Rory said, defensively.

"Sure you don't," Paris said with an eye roll.

"Anyway. I'm moving too," Rory said, biting into an egg roll, purposely delaying her answer, as she knew it would annoy Paris.

"Where to?" Paris asked, the frustration obvious in her tone.

"Manhattan." Rory replied, she stopped to take a drink of her wine. "I got a job at Random House, as an Editorial Assistant."

"Really?" Paris asked, sounding actually excited for her.

"Yep."

"You will be getting paid to read, edit and pick books?" Paris asked.

"Yes, well probably not too much editing to start, but all the rest." Rory said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"That is awesome, I'm so happy for you. So do you start right away?" Paris asked.

"No, not until July, so I have some time."

"What will you do?" Paris asked, having not heard Rory mention any other plans.

"Well I promised Mom we would take that rollercoaster trip after graduation so I think I'll start there. That will take up two weeks, and then I need to actually find somewhere to live and get moved in."

"I can't believe it, from tomorrow we will be actual grown ups. Well you will be, I suppose I will still be a student but at least I will already have an undergrad to my name."

"Actual adults!" Rory said, raising her glass to clink against Paris' in a toast.

Rory and Lorelai were on day nine of their roller coasters across America trip. They had finally made it to Disney World, which Rory was excited for, but Lorelai was holding her excitement for when they went to Universal the next day.

Once they get through the gates and are at the end of main street, Rory is stopped by a tug. Lorelai has stopped dead to stare up at Cinderella's Castle.

"Kiddo, we need to get a picture in front of the castle!"

"Sure Mom, we can do that when we get there," she says with amusement, she had known her Mom was more excited by Disney than she was portraying.

Next thing she knows she is tugging her into a store.

"We need ears!"

"What?"

"We need ears!" she repeats as she surveys the options on the wall. She finds a pair of blue glittery ears and hands them to Rory, while he can't decide between two pairs.

"Which pair?" she asks, showing her a pair of classic black ears and a pair of Minnie Mouse ears with the classic red polka dot bow.

"Oooh good choices, I think you should go classic Minnie."

"Done!" Lorelai disappears before she can stop her.

Rory stands in front of the store, looking around her and soaking up the atmosphere, this is exactly what she expected Disney to be like, the excitement in the air is infectious. Her musings are interrupted by the feeling of something being pushed onto her head, she turns to see her Mom trying to adjust her own ears.

"Bend down, and let me," Rory says, as she adjusts the ears.

They find a cast member who happily agrees to take their picture in front of the castle, where Rory struggles to get Lorelai to stay sensible for one picture.

"So do you want to ease into it gently, or go big or go home?" Rory asks.

"Do you know your mother at all? Go big or go home!"

"This way then," Rory says, pointing her in the direction of Space Mountain. "Now I didn't get us a tour guide, but I did get us fastpasses which should cut down some of our queueing time today."

"That was amazing! We have got to do that again," Lorelai exclaimed as they emerged from Space Mountain.

"We can do repeat rides later, Mom, first we have to do them all at least once." she said laughing at her Mom's pout at being told no.

"Come on, I need coffee," Lorelai said, leading Rory towards the bakery on Main street.

"Okay, I want a salted caramel cold brew, I need something cold," Rory said, as she tried to see all of the snack options from their place in the line as it snaked its way through the building.

"Cold coffee?" Lorelai said with a sneer, "I need something warm."

"What about a white chocolate mocha?"

"Actually, that sounds good. Now snacks, chocolate bear claw, or the Minnie Mouse cinnamon roll?"

"I'm getting that Cinnderella cupcake," Rory said, pointing at the cupcake covered in blue sparkly frosting with a shoe on top.

They continued around the park into the early evening, repeating rides, taking pictures with characters and sharing sugary snacks. As it started to get dark Rory tugged Lorelai off to main street again.

"Mom, we need to get a good spot to watch the fireworks."

"Okay, you find us a spot, I'll go get us a snack, for while we wait, don't worry I will find you!" Lorelai shouted before running off.

"Next time, I'm tying a balloon to you," Lorelai said, when she finally found Rory, handing her a warm pretzel.

"Well I did try to warn you," Rory said, "but you ran off too fast."

"Hush. The fireworks are starting," Lorelai said, as the street lights turned off and the fireworks began to light up the sky.
