Rory and Tristan easily fell into a new routine. They would still text throughout the day, then call or text at bedtime. Nothing much changed in that regard, making Rory realize how much they had already been flirting throughout those exchanges.

This weekend it was Rory's turn to go to Boston; Tristan had used a lot of his free time up while his Grandfather was ill, so it was easier for Rory to travel to him on a Friday evening. She was just getting off the train when her phone rang, assuming that it was Tristan, wondering where she was, she didn't even check the caller ID on her cell before answering.

"I just got off the train, I'm at the far end of the platform, I will be two minutes," Rory said, smiling into the phone.

"While that is good to know young lady, I was just calling to see what your weekend plans were." The voice of Emily Gilmore rang out through the phone.

"Grandma! Oh I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else. I was hurrying so I didn't check my caller Id," Rory said, slowing down to talk, hoping that she would finish the conversation before she reached the platform barrier and Tristan.

"Obviously. I know I have told you multiple times that you need to work on your telephone etiquette, I believe that this proves my point."

"Yes Grandma. How can I help you?"

"Really Rory, is that anyway to start a conversation?"

"Sorry Grandma, but as you just heard. I am walking through a train station right now, so I can't really be focused on stopping to have a complete conversation."

"I was calling to see if you would be around this weekend, the Gilmore Insurance Gala is coming up and I thought you might like to go shopping for a new gown."

"It isn't for another month yet Grandma."

"Well, you know as well as I do that it is never too early to shop for these things. Something could come up between now and then if you leave it to the last moment and then you might not get time to even find something new!"

"God forbid" Rory muttered under her breath.

"What was that?" Emily said, having realized that Rory said something, just not catching what.

"Nothing Grandma. Well I am in Boston this weekend, do you want to come into the city sometime next week?"

"What are you doing in Boston? I could come up there, I'm sure Francine would love to accompany us."

"I'm visiting Tristan, we have plans for the full weekend," Rory said, spotting his blonde locks in the crowd as she reached the terminal. "I'm sure that you would prefer to shop in Manhattan instead of Boston anyway."

"Well, I don't know about that. What are you visiting Tristan for?" Emily asked, Rory could hear the curiosity in her tone.

"I have to go Grandma, I just found him in the terminal, and it would be very rude for me to continue ignoring him like this." Rory said, smirking at Tristan, who looked at her trying to work out who she was talking to, leading to Rory mouthing 'Grandma' at him. He took the handle of her luggage from her, and placed his own hand in her now empty one, before beginning to walk, pulling both Rory and her luggage with him.

"Fine, will you be home on Sunday?"

"Yes, but I don't know what time. Can I call you on Monday night after I get home from work?" Rory asked, trying to beat her Grandmother to any other questions.

"Okay, I suppose I will talk to you then. And Rory?"

"Yes?"

"Remember you need a date for the gala. If you don't think you can find one, please let me know in advance so I can make some arrangements."

"Yes, Grandma. I will talk to you on Monday. Have a good weekend." Rory hung up quickly. Releasing a sigh of relief. She looked around and realized that Tristan had led them to his car, which they had just reached.

"Hey," Rory said, smiling at Tristan, who, seeing that she was off the phone, pulled her into his arms, as they stood beside his car.

"Hey yourself," he said, smiling down at her, before capturing her lips in a gentle kiss. The kiss quickly became passionate, with Rory opening her mouth on a moan, allowing Tristan's tongue to sneak inside and caress her mouth. Giving her bottom lip a quick nip, he pulled away. "Unfortunately, this is not the place to take that any further." He opened the door for her to climb in.

"Later?" Rory asked, climbing into the passenger side of his car.

"Later," he agreed, closing her door with a smile before rushing around to his side to climb in.

"How was the journey?" he asked, as he backed out of his space.

"It was fine, the usual. I got some work done on the train. I'm not used to that, seeing as I normally drive."

"Yeah, hope you didn't mind taking the train? I didn't want to be worrying about your car all weekend."

"No, it was good. And at least unlike a flight there wasn't the long wait for security," she said with a genuine smile.

Tristan reached over and caught her hand, holding it in his own, before releasing it with a squeeze when he needed two hands again, so he could navigate the Boston traffic safely.

"So I don't have much planned for tonight, in case there was a problem with the train or anything. Is a movie and pizza okay? I have a few options for tomorrow, I was waiting to see what you wanted to do before finalizing any plans."

"I'm okay with a movie and pizza, although it is just after 7. I'd really love Chinese food, would it be hard to change the pizza to Chinese?" Rory said, looking at Tristan hopefully.

"Don't bring out the puppy eyes, we drive through Chinatown anyway, do you want to stop and grab food?"

"Are you sure? Are we dressed okay?"

"It's no problem. We will be fine. I'll find somewhere to park. Dim sum?" Tristan asked, as he pulled into a parking garage, while Rory smiled contentedly in the passenger seat.

The next day found the new couple dressed and ready to leave Tristan's condo before 10 am, much to Rory's consternation.

"Tristan, where are we going so early?"

"It's not that early, we are going to grab breakfast," he half answered, holding the door open for her to leave. "Against your most common belief, you do need to live on food as well as coffee."

"Hey! I eat!" she exclaimed.

"I know, I know. Come on, I want waffles."

It wasn't long before Tristan was leading her into a run down looking diner. It was slightly out of place in Tristan's fancy neighborhood but Rory remembered Tristan saying when he bought his condo that the area was an up and coming neighborhood, undergoing gentrification.

"Don't judge by looks, this place is my Luke's. It has been here forever, I'm hoping they don't end up being forced out as the rents increase," Tristan said, as he led her towards a booth, not waiting to be seated.

"Okay, you were right, that was almost as good as Luke's. Luke has better coffee."

"I'll take your word for it. I haven't been there since we were seventeen." Tristan said, taking her hand as they left the diner, leading her down the street.

"We might need to change that soon then, give you a refresher." Rory said, giving Tristan a shy smile, at her half invitation to her hometown.

"So I thought we would start at Quincy Market," Tristan said, predicting what Rory's next question was going to be.

"Oh, I've never been there. I always come to Boston for business, or just to visit you or Paris. I never actually visited any of the sights."

"That's what I thought, I was thinking Quincy Market, the Sam Adams Taproom for lunch and then walk towards the Old Corner Bookstore?" he asked, already knowing she would be in favor of that plan.

"Really?" Rory asked, excitedly.

"Yep. it's all pretty open ended if we change any plans. I also considered the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum but I've heard it is better in late spring, so I thought we could leave it and go then?"

"You are thinking of next spring already?" Rory asked, avoiding making eye contact, which was easy to do as they were walking down the block.

"Of course." Tristan replied, stopping and pulling her aside, and into his arms. "I told you I was all in on this relationship. That means I plan on being here for the long haul, so you better get used to it. And plan on telling me what color dress you pick for the Gilmore Gala so that my tie matches."

"I haven't even asked you to accompany me yet."

"Are you telling me that you weren't planning on it?" Tristan asked, looking at her skeptically.

"Of course I was going to ask! Who else would I take?" she said, looking up at him.

"No one I hope."

"You are right, no one else. I finally got you, I need to show you off," she said, pulling his head down for a kiss.

"Oh God, show me off to Hartford society." Tristan exclaimed, his mind just beginning to comprehend the repercussions of that statement.

"Yep, although you have been my plus one before, no one will think anything of it unless you kiss me publicly while we are there and make a big display of it."

"You're right, you're always right," Tristan said, brushing a small kiss across her forehead as they started walking again.

"And don't you forget it."

"How tired are you?" Tristan asked. They were waiting on their main courses appearing from the seafood bar they had stopped for supper in. Tristan had ordered half a lobster, while Rory was having clam chowder with a lobster roll on the side.

"Moderately, we have done a lot of walking today. Why?" Rory answered hesitantly.

"There is a ghosts and gravestones tour that leaves not too far away from here, it is on an old trolley so not a walking tour. Do you want to try it?"

"That actually sounds really fun. If we can, that would be great," she answered with a smile.

"That was awesome, next time can we try one of the jump scare tours?" Rory asked excitedly, as they walked away from the trolley.

"So you liked it then?" Tristan asked, while laughing.

"Yep, the Edgar Allan Poe story was good, I need to remember to pass that one on to my Mom in case the society books the Inn again, they have a few times. She would love the jump scare one of those tours."

"I'll have to remember that for some of your next weekends up here," Tristan said, leading her towards a cab.

"We aren't walking back?" Rory asked, looking confused at the cab.

"No, we've done a lot of walking today, we are further from my condo than you think, you just didn't notice how far we walked because we kept stopping today."

"Oh yeah I forgot about that," she said, climbing into the back first. "I had a really great time today," she said once he had finished telling the driver where they needed to go.

"Good, that means I accomplished what I wanted to," he said, kissing her forehead.

"I mean it, you didn't have to make any effort for me," she said, rubbing her thumb over the back of his hand while she looked over at him. "Just spending the weekend with you was enough."

"Well, we have another twenty four hours to go," Tristan added, leaning over and kissing her as passionately as he dared in the back of a cab.

A/N Sorry for the delay. Had some writers block. I rewrote this chapter several times. I was worried it sounded similar to previous stories. I'm still not 100% happy with it, but oh well. Hopefully you all like it. I am trying to regain some moment with this story.
