"Are you sure you don't mind watching her?" Rose asked Marie as she placed Emilia on the floor. "Of course not! You know how much I enjoy taking care of her!" Marie smiled. "I know, but it's a Saturday, I'm sure you had more exciting plans in your head" Rose said, a guilty look on her face. "Not at all" Marie shook her head. "Thank you…" Rose smiled gently "and you're sure you wouldn't mind watching her in the evenings if I got the role?" Rose asked "No! Now go! Good luck!" Marie smiled, getting a grateful smile back.

After talking the idea of auditioning for the role in the play over with Marie, who said she was happy to have Emilia, Rose decided to bite the bullet and try. "Thank you…" Rose said before bending down and kissing Emilia's head. "Bye baby, I'll see you later" "bye bye" Emilia waved before going back to playing with her toys. "Bye… thanks again" Rose smiled at Marie before rushing out the door and heading to the theatre.

"Take it away!" Tom said as he and a producer sat down, watching as Rose began her audition.

"That was brilliant!" Tom said, pleasantly surprised. "Oh, thank you" Rose smiled back. "I've got a few more auditions to see this afternoon but I'll pop by when I'm done and let you know if you've been successful" Tom smiled "thank you so much" Rose smiled back. "Now go on, get back to Emilia" he replied. "Thank you" Rose chuckled, grateful Tom knew how much quality time meant to both her and her daughter.

Rose walked back in to the house once she arrived back from the audition. "Hey" Rose said quietly as she crept in to the living room where Emilia was asleep and Marie was reading a book. "Hi! How did it go?!" Marie replied. "It went well, thank you. Your dad is going to come round later and let me know how I got on" Rose smiled as she sat near Emilia and began stroking her hair. "Amazing!" Marie smiled. "I'm really sorry, I've got to rush off, I promised my Mum I'd cook dinner" Marie rolled her eyes jokingly "tell Emilia I said bye" she smiled as she stood up. "I will… thank you again for watching her" Rose replied "you're more than welcome… see you soon" Marie smiled as she left.

Around 20 minutes later there was a knock at the door so Rose left Emilia asleep in the living room to answer it.

"Oh, hi Tom. You're here earlier than I thought" Rose frowned confused but stepped aside to let him in. "Well the auditions were fairly quick in the end" he chuckled. "I see" Rose said as she felt her heart beat in her chest, waiting to find out if she had been successful in getting the role. "Well, congratulations. You were the best we saw by far, so the role is yours, if you want it?" Tom asked. "Really?!" Rose grinned. "Of course" Tom smiled. "Thank you so much!" Rose replied. "We just need you to do a chemstiry test with the man that's going to be playing the male lead. He's a lovely guy, he's called Henry. Are you free to come in tomorrow around 1?" Tom asked. Rose's heart suddenly sank, she hadn't thought it through when she auditioned for the role that she would have to kiss another man- the only other man she would have kissed aside from Jack, but quickly brushed her thoughts aside. "That should be fine, I'll ask Marie to watch Emmy for an hour or so" Rose replied. "Fantastic. I'll see you tomorrow, and congratulations again!" Tom smiled "thank you" Rose smiled back, following him to the door and saying goodbye as he left.

Rose headed back in to the living room where Emilia was still asleep. Just like before, she sat beside her and ran her fingers through her daughters hair gently, looking down at her, before resting her head back against the sofa, wiping the tears the began to fall. She was thrilled that she had managed to get the role in the play, but her heart broke a little over the fact that she had once spoken to Jack about how this was one of her dreams, and looking down at their daughter- who was the spitting image of him, made it hurt just that little more.
