This is where the time dancing experiences start. Some will be based canon, others not so much. But I had to have inspiration for each one. And maybe even a little help. And some of the dates might be off, but this is my version. I also prefer the Gate itself taking Brooklyn and Sil through time rather than the Phoenix.
Of course, I don't own the canon stuff. Enjoy!
When Valentine's Day rolled around, it meant a lot more to lovers, usually.
Goliath and Elisa had a romantic evening planned as did Broadway and Angela, and David and Fox. Lex was babysitting for David and Fox.
Brooklyn hung out with Sil. He didn't want to be near any of the lovers here in the castle. It would just make him think about how bad he was with the women. Maybe if he turned human, he could go out and get a girl to like him. Being a gargoyle male just wasn't cutting it. Brooklyn loved his Skeksis friend, but he just had a desperation inside his soul to find that female of his dreams.
Brooklyn decided to get away from the castle and take Sil with him. "What is this Valentine's Day I hear about?" Sil asked him from in his arms.
"All I know is that it's for grown up lovers. Ones like Goliath and Elisa, and Broadway and Angela. We won't get the benefit of feeling it until we find girls of our own." Brooklyn explained. "For now, we just get to enjoy being bachelors; male friends being single and doing what we want when duties don't call us."
"I feel too young for such things." Sil replied.
"Yeah, you are, but you'll likely want to when you get older." Brook stated.
"You really want a girl, right?"
"Yeah, I do, but for some reason, the ladies just keep passing me up. I just haven't found the right girl yet. I hope to someday." Brooklyn said.
"But, when you find a girl of your own, then we not be as close." Little Sil realized. "You always be with her, like Broadway and Angela."
"I will always be your friend. Yes, a new mate will keep me busy, but I will always find time to spend with you." Brooklyn promised. "Even mates can be understanding of needing to keep other clan mates happy. But perhaps there will be another young gargoyle that can be your best friend too. It helps to have friends your own age as well."
"No other ones here my age." Sil argued.
"But there will be soon, I bet. Lexington and Hudson are soon going to London to meet some new gargoyles. The London Clan." Brook declared.
"Can I go with them to meet them too?" Sil asked.
"Probably not the first time. They'll be leaving in a couple weeks. It's been decreed by Goliath." Brooklyn said.
"Wish Goliath would go and give us a break." Sil stated.
"Goliath is going to be going to Japan soon too. He and Elisa. Xanatos is taking them. The clans of the world are going to start coming together now that humans have accepted us into society." Brook explained. "But they're waiting for Hudson and Lex to go to London first and come back. Maybe you can go next time after the successful meeting."
"It seems like all we do is wait, wait, and wait some more for everything to happen." Sil complained.
"It's all we can do at times. I know it gets nerve wracking." Brook replied with a chuckle. "But you just have to learn patience. Patience and persistence pay off if you're after a certain goal in life."
Chamberlain knew that his older friend had a point. He would wait to ask to go to London. Things just had to go well first. But perhaps even Brooklyn could meet a girl in London too. It was said to be a huge clan. Then, maybe even Lexington would find his soulmate there too.
…..
Soon, it was time for Hudson and Lexington to depart for London. Demona's human counterpart, MacBeth was going to take them there. He was an ally now that had very little contact with the clan. It also involved taking the Stone of Destiny back to London too. MacBeth was at least rich like David Xanatos.
Who knew how long Hudson and Lex would be gone? Goliath and Elisa would be going to Japan a week later after them. Fox would be going with her husband. Owen would be left behind to look after Alex and run the business, but even Brooklyn was willing to look after the little guy. He and Sil would do it together.
Within weeks, there were only Brooklyn, Angela, Broadway, Sil, and Bronx left at the castle to run things. Brooklyn was in charge of the others, but they didn't need much told of what to do. The red male just wanted to avoid his brother and his mate. Their lovey-dovey behavior made him upset and gave him a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. He hated being jealous of them. Even with Sil there to occupy him, it wasn't the same kind of relationship that he ultimately longed for.
Brooklyn was just feeling more and more restless being here in the castle. He was longing to get out of the castle and meet another clan in another section of the world. He had to get out and try to find the girl of his dreams. Maybe if there was another meeting with another clan in the world they had yet to discover, he would go on that next outing. He had to try. He had had no luck with the Ishimuran Clan when they met last time over a year ago.
…..
Time dancing begins.
A few nights later, it was still February. It was a full moon. There was an eclipse tonight too.
Brooklyn was feeling bored and was just sitting on the high tower parapets. He was thinking about leaving the castle to get some air or find something to do. But before he could depart, little Sil came up there.
"There you are. I was looking for you, Brooklyn." Sil spoke up.
"Hey, Sil. What are you up to?" Brooklyn asked.
"Finished with today's school lessons and want to see what you are up to. What you want to do?" Sil asked curiously.
"I was thinking of going gliding to get some air under my wings. I'm just too restless." Brook replied.
"Feeling same way. Don't want to watch tv and just want to see city." Sil agreed.
"Well, you can join me if you want to." Brooklyn invited Sil.
Sil smiled. "Sure! Love to!" The little Skeksis climbed on Brook's back this time and the red gargoyle spread his wings to jump off the parapets to go soaring over to some other buildings that were a little distance away.
Broadway and Angela had been out gliding and enjoying each other's company and they spotted their red companion and young Skeksis friend.
"Let's go see what Brooklyn and Sil are up to." Broadway suggested. Angela nodded. They were holding hands as they soared over the city.
Brooklyn soared a good distance from the castle, and he soon landed on a hotel to just get a look out over the city. He crouched down so Sil could get off his back. "Wow. This is a nice place." Sil commented. He liked being able to get out and see the city, even if they stayed on the rooftops.
"Yeah, it is." Brooklyn agreed. He still felt restless in his soul, but he was glad to show his young friend a good time. Then there was a swishing of wings.
"Hey, Brooklyn, Sil, what cha doin'?" It was Broadway and Angela. Both of them looked up.
Brooklyn glared at the two of them as they landed, holding hands. He turned his back, scowling. "Nothing. Just killing moonlight."
"I've never been here before. Nice place." Sil said.
"Yeah, it sure is beautiful." Angela stated with a smile.
"It sure has been dullsville with Hudson and Lex in London. Wish they'd come home already." Broadway said.
"Yeah, I wish I could have gone to meet some young gargoyles." Sil stated.
"Another time you can, I'm sure." Angela said.
Brooklyn turned back around. He was about to suggest they go home or something, but then, above them, they were watching the eclipse going on, but then, a glowing light in the sky just started happening.
"Hey, what's that?" Sil asked curiously.
The light grew into a ball of flame. Angela started to recognize what it was. She thought this was something she would never see again. "Oh no! It's the Gate! The Phoenix Gate!" She exclaimed in fear.
The Gate fell out of the sky and bounced down in front of the gargoyles and Skeksis. They glanced down at it. "What is this Phoenix Gate?" Sil asked.
"It's a magical time traveling device." Angela replied.
"Cool." Sil smiled.
"It's not cool." Angela said.
"Well, it's not every night a magical time travel talisman drops out of the sky." Brooklyn declared. He and Sil were still looking at it curiously.
"You don't understand. Goliath released it into the timestream because it was too dangerous…" Angela started to say.
Brooklyn knew something dangerous couldn't be left lying around. He started reaching a hand toward it and picked it up. "Which means we can't leave this lying around for just anyone to pick up." He said.
Then, Brooklyn had a strange feeling in his hand, a vibration. But also seeing the Phoenix flame also reminded him of other times in his life when he had seen it just then, and he had fled those times. But now, this device had him! It had chosen its new passenger.
The flames ignited from the Gate once again. It made the three gargoyles and Sil to cover their eyes in shock but quickly recovered to see it. The flames then surrounded Brooklyn. "What's going on?" he asked fearfully.
"Hey, wait for me!" Sil screeched and he ran into the flames too, grabbing onto Brooklyn's hand as the flames began to shrink, taking the two of them together.
"Hey! Give them back!" Broadway shouted out. "Stop!" Angela shouted. They were too late. The flames disappeared.
Broadway and Angela were left standing there saddened and shocked. "We've lost them. Maybe forever…" Angela stated sadly. She feared the worst. Who knows what would become of their friends…?
The Phoenix Gate was no longer just a talisman that relied on someone's mind to take them someplace. It now had a mind all its own to do with its passengers to send them anywhere it liked… At least Brooklyn wasn't alone. The red gargoyle had been the target, but little Sil had jumped in by his own free will. Who knew where they would end up, and when?...
Much rather the first part starts next time.
