"What?!" Night cried, staring at Venom. Venom looked back at her innocently.

"Wow, you are as subtle as a grizzly bear," Crimson muttered.

"More like a hippo," Crocodile growled. Tidal snorted.

"That's as obvious as Futureseer being a Nightwing," Frozen agreed. Futureseer let out a sigh and nodded. Even Cacti raised his eyebrows. Venom turned to them and shot venom from her fangs, just missing Crocodile and Crimson.

"I don't need to be "subtle". Night knows if she doesn't answer or lies, her mother will get hurt. So shut your mouths and stop with the eyebrows and noses or I will aim better," Venom hissed furiously. Night took a step back.

She had never seen anyone so angry before. Everyone also took a step back except Cacti. He reached to brush her wings, but she pulled away from him and turned to Night.

"Well? Answer me!" Venom growled. Night shuffled her talons, feeling her wings shivering.

If I don't answer or lie, she will hurt Mother. She might even go find and hurt Kinkajou! Or Qibli! Ohh no. Night thought, terrified. But I would then risk my queen's and tribe's lifes.

"Don't you know?" Night asked shakily. Venom sighed, turning dark blue.

"No. I left before Glory became queen," Venom said. Night noticed a little part of her wings turning sky blue, before she changed back to her normal form.

"Hmmm, if you expect me to know, it probably hasn't moved," Venom thought aloud. Night's eyes widened.

"No! No! It moved! Yeah, it's far, far away from where it used to be! Hehe…" Night panicked, and trailed off, knowing Venom knew.

"You're lucky your lies are so obvious," Venom said. Night shivered. Cacti tried to brush her wings again, and this time she didn't pull away. Instead, Venom leaned into him.

"That's all I need to know for now. Take her back," Venom said, emphasising on the "now".

"Wait! Please! I- I… okay…" Night sighed, allowing Crocodile to grab her and pull her back.

"You okay?" Sharpclaws asked worriedly as Night was hauled into the cell.

"Yeah, just they know where Queen Glory is," Night whispered, shuffling closer to Sharpclaws, "I think we need to escape."

"Escape? How?" Sharpclaws whispered back, lowering her head to meet Night's eyes. Night turned around and inspected the bars. They weren't wooden, probably because Venom knew how easily that could burn. They were rusty metal. Night slid her claws down the bars, thinking.

"If I burn this just a little bit, I think I can bend it enough for us to crawl through. And, because it's night, there are no guards and they won't spot us," Night said quietly, taking a deep breath. She felt Sharpclaws place one of her talons on Night's shoulder.

"Okay. Good luck," Sharpclaws said, brushing one of Night's wings before she pulled away and watched. Night breathed flames so lightly nobody could see them apart from anyone inside the cell.

Night picked up some dirt and threw it at the fire, killing the flames and winced as she touched the burning hot metal. With all her strength, Night pulled the bars further and further apart until her mother could just squeeze through them. Night slipped through and Sharpclaws followed.

"Quick!" Sharpclaws cried, launching into the sky. Night followed her, flapping as hard as she could. They sped through the forest and landed far away from the base.

"Let's rest here and go to the palace tomorrow," Sharpclaws said, lying down. Night collapsed beside her and fell asleep, dreaming of being reunited with Qibli and Kinkajou.

"We are here," Night said cheerfully, landing at the entrance of the Nightwing village. Sharpclaws smiled at Night and started forward, being cut off by a Nightwing.

"Hey! You!" The Nightwing growled. Night recognised him as Whiptail. Night thought he was desperately in love with Sharpclaws, so he was funny to watch. Night was right. Whiptail's frown broke into a smile and nodded at Sharpclaws.

"Sorry about that," He said, "Come along."

"No, stop. You're the Nightwing who ran off, right?" Another Nightwing cut in, eyebrows raised. Sharpclaws shuffled her feet.

"Stop it, Hardrock. Who cares about the past anyway. You would too, for your kids," Whiptail grumbled, shoving Hardrock. Hardrock rolled his eyes and stepped back, allowing Sharpclaws and Night to walk through.

"Wait, why are we here? Aren't we going to warn Queen Glory?" Night asked. Sharpclaws nodded quickly and nudged Night. She turned around and saw the Nightwings staring at her and Sharpclaws.

"Sharpclaws?" A Nightwing asked, looking excited. Sharpclaws turned to her and her face lit up. The Nightwing jumped towards Sharpclaws and hugged her. Two others came from behind trees, smiling.

"Mother?" Night asked, stepping closer to her, not wanting to interrupt her reunion. Sharpclaws looked at her. Her friends smiled kindly at Night.

"You go ahead, Night. I will catch up later," Sharpclaws said calmly and followed her friends. Night stood awkwardly for a moment and turned to keep flying, when she bumped into someone she never thought she'd bump into ever again.

"Night…? He asked. Night stared at him. She was right. It was Darksky, her ex-boyfriend. He stood in front of her, looking surprisingly happy to see her, considering he seemed to hate her after she broke up with him.

"What?" Night asked sharply, glaring up at him. Darksky had grown a little. He was way taller than her and had strong, huge wings, the moon reflecting off his midnight blue tingle in his wings. Night took a step away from him, causing Darksky to wince.

"I-I…I'm sorry," He stammered, meeting her eyes. Night blinked, startled and raised her eyebrows. Darksky never stammered. He was always so full of himself. That's why she broke up with him. So who was this scared, little dragonet, inside a huge, hulking Nightwing?

"No, you're not," Night declared, stepping further back, "So go. Please." Darksky's eyes softened and he lowered his wings and head.

"I am…so…um," Darksky trailed off at Night's fierce look.

"I'm sorry, but no," Night said, shaking her head and taking off.

"Wait! I am! Please…come back Night!" Darksky cried. Night could hear his voice wobble, but not for long, because Night flew far away enough that she couldn't hear him. It was quite sad though, because Darksky was probably one of the only dragons that actually accepted her mind reading.

One of the only Nightwings, because Mother,Kinkajou and Qibli accept me as who I am. Night thought. As if the thought summoned him, Night turned to see Qibli standing right behind her, smiling.
