Kyle walks into his and Casey's room and powers up his UE boom and connects his phone.

Opening Spotify, he selects one of his all-time favourite songs: 'I'm not okay (I Promise)'.

He turns the volume up a bit and goes and lies on his bed to read his book but as he's picking up his book, he sees his guitar; he's been wanting to learn how to play this song on his guitar for ages.

Once the song finishes, he puts down his book and turns off his UE Boom and then grabs his guitar and laptop.

Pulling up the chords on his guitar, he starts to practice and hums along with the song at the same time.

After about thirty minutes Casey walks into the room and rolls his eyes at his brother as he hears him singing and playing the guitar.

"If you're going to play emo music, play it in the lounge; I don't want to listen to it," Casey says, huffing; already annoyed with Kyle because he got to carry in the lighter bags, he doesn't want to listen to his stupid emo music.

Kyle looks up from his guitar with his mouth open.

"But I was here first," Kyle says; not seeing why he had to move when he was here first, and it was as much his room as it was Casey's.

"Well, I'm here now! Now stop playing stupid emo music or get out!" Casey hisses.

He walks over to Kyle and slams his laptop shut.

"What's your problem?" Kyle snaps, annoyed, even though he suspects what Casey's problem is: he's annoyed which means he has to be Casey's emotional punching bag.

"You! You're always kissing Brax's arse! You're such a goody-goody! That's the other reason you get to carry the lighter bags. For one you're a scrawny little weakling and the second reason is because you're always kissing his arse," Casey hisses, not making much sense.

"How do you think Brax would react if he heard you talking like that?" Kyle asks and Casey immediately turns to him furious.

Despite tolerating Casey's nasty comments and remarks, Kyle feels he's the only release that his brother needs and so Kyle feels obligated to allow Casey to rant and rave at his leisure, despite putting him down.

"Why? Are you going to tell on me, you goody-goody?" Casey hisses at Kyle.

Kyle drops his head. He knows Casey will only be nastier to him if he tells on him.

"No, I'm just saying," Kyle grumbles.

"Good!" Casey sneers.

"By the way it's called being helpful, maybe if you helped out more, Brax would get off your back," Kyle replies reasonably; wishing Casey would calm down.

"Most normal teenagers don't help all the time, but saying that you aren't normal; are you? I mean you're practically a human calculator: a total freak!" Casey hisses, he knows that what he says wasn't fair, but he is just so annoyed and can't help spurting off his mouth.

"Can you stop being so immature? I can't believe this is all because I got to carry lighter bags than you," Kyle protests, huffing, as he puts his guitar away.

He is no longer in the mood to play on his guitar and wishes his brother could just go away.

Full of anger, Casey storms out of the room back to the lounge to cool off before dinner.

Kyle sits down on his bed and runs his hands through his hair. All he wants is to try and forget about his stupid Math test and focus on something he enjoys but Casey calling him a human calculator certainly doesn't help.

He usually tops his year, but with this test he knows that he has done rubbish and that is something he can't handle; he can't handle disappointing the entire family.

After Brax prepares the meatloaf and sticks it in the oven he approaches Casey, who is still sitting on the couch after his return from the bedroom.

"Do you have any homework tonight?" Brax asks.

Casey doesn't look up from his surf mag that he grabbed once more to flick through.

"Nup," he replies in an abrupt tone.

"Are you lying to me?" Brax implies.

Casey stares up, feeling a little hurt at being assumed he was lying.

"No, Brax. I don't," Casey snaps and immediately gets up, tossing his magazine on the table and storming outside.

Brax shakes his head and goes back to finishing the rest of the dinner preparations.

The three brothers sit at the dining table with their plates of meatloaf, mashed potato and pumpkin, and vegetables, consisting of: beans, peas, and broccoli.

Kyle is still quiet, and Casey is still grumpy.

Brax eyes both Casey and Kyle as he eats his dinner. Kyle slowly munches all his vegetables first, while Casey scoffs down half his meatloaf with gravy and pulls a face at the vegetables on his plate.

"Yuck! Why did you make Broccoli, Brax; I hate this stuff," Casey complains and picks at the green trees with his fork.

"It's good for you and I know you're not a fan, so I only put three on your plate so eat them up."

Casey tries his best to smother the broccoli in his mashed potato and pumpkin, as well as his meatloaf but every time he takes a bite, he still pulls a face.

"After dinner, how about we all sit down and watch a movie? Have a brother's night in? Obviously not too late as you boys have school tomorrow," Brax suggests, trying to lighten the mood.

Kyle nods, "I'd like that."

"Sounds cool," Casey adds; his mood slowly starting to simmer.

Once they are all finished, Brax takes the plates and cleans up and tells Kyle and Casey to go and sit on the couch ready.

"Um, Ky?" Casey mutters.

"What?" Kyle replies.

"I'm sorry for saying you were weak before and for the way that I was talking to you in our room before. I guess I was just a bit mad."

"It's okay; don't worry about it," Kyle assures.

Brax comes out of the kitchen, hearing his brother's talking and smiles.

"So, what movie did we pick?" Brax asks.

Kyle holds up a DVD of School of Rock.

"Alright then, and by the way: here is some dessert," Brax says; taking the movie and handing both boys a chocolate bar.

"Thanks," Kyle immediately replies.

Casey however is already tearing open the treat.

Brax sets the movie up and sits to the right of Kyle.

Casey immediately gets up to sit on the other side of Brax.

"Thanks Brax, and I'm sorry for how I acted this afternoon," Casey mumbles, with his mouth full of chocolate bar.

Brax ruffles Casey's hair and gives Kyle's shoulder a squeeze and the three sit back and watch the movie.
