Episode 68: Sloth And Diligence
1313
Gray clouds covered the skies. The light of the sun shined onto them, illuminating the skies. From one direction to the next, rays shined through the clouds, yet the day was still covered.
Days such as these were very common in Transylvania. Days like these would often make you wonder what kind of day you are going to experience. The moment your eyes open from slumber is when the question comes into your mind, yet it is not one that is easily answered.
At the cathedral of Orasul Rautcios sitting on the upper ledge of the building was Onyx, The Black Reaper. With his back against a corner he silently turned a page in his book. On his shoulders two crows were perched, nestling themselves against his neck. They nuzzled their heads against his cheeks once he turned to the next page. The company given to him wasn't all bad. As much as Onyx would've preferred solitude, the crows didn't bother him. They read the book alongside him in silence.
Turning their heads the crows softly cawked. Closing his eyes Onyx closed his book, making the crows fly off of his shoulders. Turning his head to where the crows were looking a single woman was making her way to the cathedral. The woman had long red hair and crimson eyes. She wore a pure-white dress and white shoes. Her lips smiled as she continued her way to the cathedral. Once she came near it she stopped in her tracks and waved her hand at Onyx.
Onyx stared at her. His eyes locked onto the single woman whom also was carrying a large basket in her other arm. The more he looked at her waving at him the more his curiosity grew. It was common for anyone to come to the cathedral whenever they wished. It belonged to the town, of course, yet this single woman would often come to see him. Not many people would see him because of what he was, though this person was different.
Putting his book into his Gemstone Onyx turned his body and pushed himself off of the ledge. The woman watched as he landed on the ground, bending his body forward before straightening himself. Not a word exited his mouth as he calmly approached the woman.
"Hello, Onyx." The woman greeted.
Onyx blinked at her.
The woman narrowed her eyes and placed a hand on her hip. "Really, now. Don't I even warrant a hello?"
No response left his mouth.
Closing her eyes the woman let out a sigh. "Honestly, the silent routine is getting a little annoying." Opening her eyes she smiled at him again. "I came here today to have a picnic with you. May I give you some company?"
Moving his eyes onto the basket and back to the woman's face. His quiet time was now officially over, which meant it was time to do some socializing. Socializing...isn't really something he enjoys getting into. Talking to other Humans... Talking to Gems... Talking in general is just a pain. Verbal communication is such a pain, yet it was a mandatory thing he had to do when it was needed. There were times he could interact with others without verbal communication, but it didn't always work in his favor. So... If he must engage in such an activity with this woman, then so be it.
Helping the woman put out a blanket for the both of them they sat down on it with the woman presenting the basket. Opening it she brought out portions of cheese, bowls of berries, some brown bread, and some meat. Alongside that were two large glasses containing milk.
"I've been trying my best to keep my siblings from eating these." The woman said as she took a slice of bread and placed some meat and cheese on it before topping it with another slice of bread. "Here. Try it."
Onyx silently took the food from her and held it near his face. Looking at it was...strange. Gems didn't require substance or liquids. However, the woman would get upset if didn't at least try it. That would've been such a pain to deal with. Opening his mouth Onyx took a bite out of the food. He chewed, chewed, and chewed until he was able to swallow it.
"What do you think?" The woman asked.
Onyx blinked at her and nodded. "It is delicious." He said nonchalantly.
The woman smiled at him. She then offered him a berry, to which he accepted. She then gave him the glass of milk and he merely took a sip of it before putting it down.
"I'm happy." The woman said. "Everyone in town always told me to stay away from you, but...they were clearly wrong."
Onyx looked at her with a cocked eyebrow.
"There were rumors going around about you. Some say you're a monster. Some a savior. But...all I see is a man." The woman said.
Onyx calmly shook his head to her. "I am not a man, woman. There are many things you do not know about me. I suggest it is better that way."
The woman looked at him with an unsure expression. But she continued to smile, "I think you are a man. A man that caught my interest. I want to know more about you."
Onyx took another bite of the food as he looked at the woman. There was a lot of things she didn't truly know about him. Practically speaking, she really should keep her distance from him, but she wasn't. This Human woman wishes to understand him. When that happens, the outcome might not be what she might expect. Although...it'll be a pain to not give this to her and instead have her constantly asking him to spend time with him. That would be the biggest pain of all.
"Very well, woman." Onyx said.
The woman groaned, "My name is Veronica. Veronica Blood, not woman."
"I see. Veronica Blood." Onyx said.
December 30th 8:00 p.m. (Present Time)
Dark clouds covered the skies above with only small amounts of light illuminating the area. All around there were dead trees. Shriveled up with skinny branches stretched out and nothing attached to them, except for large rusty chains. Up and down from the trunk to the branches, rusty chains shackled the tree.
Sitting on the branches themselves were a large number of crows. The crows flew through the depressing skies and hopped from one branch to the next. Some cawed into the air while others remained silent.
In the center of the area between two massive trees lied Kameron and Onyx. In the middle of the air both brothers were bound and shackled in chains, gripping onto their arms, wrists, ankles, legs, and necks. Side by side the brothers remained in silence; coiled in restraints. Nothing but the sound of the crows entering their ears.
To some, this looks like a punishment. Perhaps Kameron did something wrong and this was the consequence of his misdeeds. However... all is not what it seems.
Lifting their heads the brothers looked at each other. Neither showed an ounce of emotion. Merely locking their eyes onto one another. The more they looked at each other the more their chains began to loosen. One after the other their binds began to come off of them. Head to toe, their shackles released them, making the brothers plummet to the dead ground below. Soon they both impacted the ground at the same time.
Laying on the ground the brothers remained as they were. Not moving. Not speaking. Just...laying on the ground like they were defeated in a massive battle. Though...both of them knew they couldn't stay in those positions forever. Even if they wanted to, someone or something was bound to come and make them move.
Putting their hands on the ground the brothers soon picked themselves up. Walking up to each other Kameron and Onyx stopped once they were at close range. Raising his arm Onyx summoned it near Kameron's chest. Little by little the arm continued to rise until it made it's way up to Kameron's neck. Wrapping his fingers around his brother's neck Onyx added some pressure to his grip. With his other hand he brought it to Kameron's neck, adding even more pressure. Kameron blankly stared at his brother with small breaths leaving his nose. The breaths continued the more Onyx gripped onto him.
Onyx looked deep, deep into the eyes of Kameron. The brother he has known since the day he was born. The brother who wanted to become a Rainbow Gem. The brother who has brought pain and despair into his soul from losing what was dear to him. That despair still lingered within. The anguish. The agony. They all were still there, yet...something had changed. There was...a new kind of light. A light that embraced the dark, complimenting each other and finding harmony among themselves.
Onyx weakened his grip on Kameron's neck. Soon after he released his hands from him altogether. Removing his hands Onyx lowered them. This change... This...was the change that needed to happen. It finally occurred.
Coming up to Kameron Onyx wrapped his arms around him, placing his head onto Kameron's shoulder. Kameron silently mimicked his brother's actions, wrapping his arms around and increasing their embrace.
"You have indeed changed. You have changed for the better, brother." Onyx said.
"Thank you." Kameron replied. "I'm sorry for being a jackass."
Onyx softly padded his brother's back, making Kameron hum while his lips grinned.
Soon the brothers released themselves from each other. But right when either of them would speak a word their phones went off. Reaching into their pockets the brothers saw a Gem icon on their phones and pressed onto it. Once they did that the icon placed itself onto a location on the map. Kameron's eyes widened to the location and looked up at Onyx. Onyx merely closed his eyes and placed his phone back into his pocket. Turning his head Onyx raised out his arm, summoning a black portal.
"I'm coming with you." Kameron said, putting his phone back into his pocket.
Onyx gave him a nod as they went into the portal.
December 30th 8:30 p.m.
Arriving at Orasul Rautcios the brothers were met with rain pouring down from the sky, but that was the least of their worries.
In the middle of town they saw dozens of G.A.F soldiers firing their weaponry at...at...well, that was hard to describe. There were black monsters with sharp teeth and claws causing havoc and carnage. Most were destroying houses while others were attack civilians. But there was something really...off about them. These creatures... Neither of them had a single Gemstone on them.
"Take them down! Do whatever it takes!" G.A.F Soldier#1 called.
"What are these things?" Kameron said out loud.
"Make a cage." Onyx replied as he summoned his scythe.
Kameron turned to his brother with a confused expression. But just when he was about to ask why Onyx vanished into a black portal. With no time to think Kameron summoned his blade and started sprinting.
Appearing out of a portal on top of a building Onyx raised his scythe and slashed through several G.A.F soldiers. Raising his head up to the creatures he summoned a black portal beneath them, sucking them into it. Closing it he turned his head and off of the building, only to be met with G.A.F soldiers pointing their guns at him. Rushing up to them Onyx sliced through them and made his way to another creature, bringing out another portal underneath it.
Making his way to the center of town Kameron saw three G.A.F soldiers spotting him and raised their guns. Picking up speed Kameron quickly dodged each bullet fired at him right as he came in close to the soldiers. Leaping into the air he thrusted his leg out, kicking one of the soldiers down before turning his head and aiming his leg to the next. Hitting the soldier right in the chest Kameron watched the soldier impact the ground while looked at the last one. The third soldier fired a barrage of bullets. Kameron turned to his side and rapidly moved from the soldier's line of fire. Sprinting up to the soldier Kameron kicked the gun out of their hands before hitting them with Venganza.
Watching them soldier fall Kameron narrowed his eyes and turned around before coming up to the center of the town. With his free hand he slammed it right on the ground and in mere seconds large crystal spikes began to form into a large circle. Once the circle was finished more crystals came out of each side and connected to each crystal beside them.
Right as the cage was finished a large black portal opened up from within, bringing out the creatures and imprisoning them inside. Each one ran to the cage, but were quickly pushed back from a surge of energy.
Still a bit unsure of why the cage was needed Kameron's moment of thinking was interrupted by the cries of the people. Turning his head he saw a large black creature coming in close to a couple. The creature pinned them to the wet ground and...slowly licked them with it's long tongue. Disgusted and even more confused, Kameron ran up to the creature slashing it's back with Venganza. The creature howled at the attack given to it, but when Kameron saw the slash mark he gave it he saw a torn shirt and blood dripping out before the creature covered it's wound.
Turning around the creature hissed at Kameron and soon pounced onto him. Raising up Venganza Kameron was pushed to the ground while creature chomped it's teeth onto his blade.
"Get out of here! Go!" Kameron yelled at the couple.
Doing what they were told the couple quickly picked themselves and ran off without looking back.
Watching them leave Kameron's attention was soon placed back onto the creature violently moving it's head on his sword. Gripping onto his shoulders the creature dug it's claws into his skin, making him groan right as he pushed himself back and kicked the creature off of him. Turning over on his stomach Kameron grunted while picking himself up and glaring at the creature. The creature snarled at him and unleashed a frightening roar, but right as it was about to attack a blade pierced right through it.
Kameron was shocked. The creature lowered it's arms while falling to the ground, giving Kameron a clear view to the owner of the blade. The owner was young woman with white-silver hair and grey eyes. Strangely the woman wore a grayish-white suit, covering herself from head to toe. Small black plating covered her shoulders and hips. Lastly she wielded a long katana with it's sheath equipped on her left hip.
The woman lowered her blade as she looked down at the creature. But as she did the creature began to dissolve into a black substance, removing itself from the human it was on. The black substance soon began to crawl its way to Kameron, but when it got close he captured it in a mini-crystal cage. The creature pounced all around it's cage, but eventually stopped when Kameron picked it up.
"I suggest you exterminate that immediately." The woman said with a robotic voice.
Kameron soon narrowed his eyes at her. "Let me guess. You're with G.A.F. I take it?"
"Correct. I am Ray. The leader of Faction#13 of G.A.F." The woman said as she pointed her blade at him. "Surrender and I will make your death quick and painless."
Right when Kameron was about to answer her a scythe blade appeared near Ray's neck. She soon turned her whole head around to see Onyx standing right behind her.
"The Black Reaper." Ray said.
"I see you've upgraded yourself, Ray." Onyx replied.
"After what you did to me, I had no choice. Now, I will make you suffer just like I had to." Ray said with no emotion.
A black portal soon erupted beneath Ray, making her fall into it before closing up. Once it closed up Onyx raised his head to Kameron as the brothers approached each other.
"What the hell is going on, Onyx?" Kameron asked as he looked down at the corpse near his feet. "These aren't Corrupted, so what are they?"
"A mistake." Onyx replied.
Kameron narrowed his eyes. "Okay, but that answer lacks detail. What kind of mistake?"
"A mistake that I made." Onyx replied as he walked up to the caged creatures. "I thought that it was contained enough and would never be released. It appears that I was wrong. So now I must make it right."
"That still doesn't answer the question." Kameron pointed out.
Onyx sighed as he stopped in front of the cage. "These creatures are parasites. They latch onto a host and feed off of their emotions until they become husks. Once that happens they move onto their next prey. During the War a Home-World Gem attempted to use this parasite to eliminate humanity. I managed to contain it. I had thought keeping it here in a secured location would've prevented it from spreading, but I was wrong."
Absorbing this information into his mind, Kameron wasn't entirely sure on what to think of it. A parasite feeding off of the emotions of those who it comes into contact with, draining them until they were husks. And all this time Onyx didn't bother to check on it at all. Even though Kameron should be angry with him, he couldn't be. Onyx didn't know this would happen. How could he? And now the only thing to do is to make it right.
"How do we stop this?" Kameron asked firmly.
"The Queen. She is the source of all of this." Onyx answered. "I will locate the Queen. You remain in town and imprison as many of them as you can."
Kameron twitched at his brother's suggestion, but...this wasn't the time for arguments. As much as Kameron would want to go with him to face the Queen, someone had to stay behind to round up the creatures and keep them alive.
"Do they have any weaknesses?" Kameron asked.
"Loud sounds." Onyx replied. "Do your best." He added as he disappeared into a black portal under him.
Loud noises... Right... If Lepidolite was here she would definitely be a helping hand, but...she isn't since she's already occupied with something else. So...it looks like Kameron is gonna have to improvise.
Sprinting among the streets Onyx rapidly spun his scythe while several G.A.F soldiers fired at him. Each bullet fired was immediately deflected away right as Onyx vanished into another portal. The soldiers carefully turned their eyes around, wondering and waiting to see where the Black Reaper would appear. The answer came from above when a black portal erupted in midair with Onyx coming out of it and attacking the soldiers.
With each one slain he continued to sprint. Up ahead he saw more creatures attacking people, but...looking closely Onyx saw some familiar faces getting cornered. As they were mere inches away from sinking their teeth into their prey a plethora of black portal erupted underneath them, sucking them in.
Approaching the people a woman immediately came to him, wrapping her arms around his torso. "You came! By the stars, the Black Reaper came to us!"
Onyx lightly padded the woman's back until she released herself from him while wiping the tears from her eyes. "Black Reaper. Please. You must save Catherine."
Onyx blinked twice at the woman, "What has happened, Mrs. Blood?"
"Our daughter went to the cathedral to do her daily chores, but..." Mr. Blood replied as he gulped. "But...when my wife and I came to check on her...she was surrounded by this...black goo."
Mrs. Blood turned to her husband as he embraced her. The mentioning of Catherine...made Onyx grip onto Lucifer tightly. The details were scarce at best, but he could connect the dots on what might've occurred when Catherine made contact with the Parasite Queen.
"I knew you were still trouble!" A Resident yelled. "This is all because of-"
Onyx turned his body, walking away before the Resident could finish.
"I will save your daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Blood. You have my word." Onyx announced as he went into another portal.
The Bloods watched him leave and turned to each other. They believed his words and even though they couldn't do much in return for him, at the very least they can still help as many people as they can. That's way better than doing nothing.
Screams and wails echoed in the skies. Many people continued running for their lives as the creatures were coming for them. A mother and child were running to the entrance of town right when the child and mother tripped on some debris. Turning their heads the mother and child saw a large creature coming right up to them. Leaping into the air the creature opened it's jaws, ready to bite it's prey with the mother embracing her child, preparing for the worse to come.
RRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG!
A huge ring soon erupted into the air, making the creature drop to the ground. It's body started to twitch with black tentacles seeping out of it.
RRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG!
Another loud came and made the creature screech. It screeched more and more until the black substance slowly came off of the person it was controlling. The black substance quickly made it's way to the mother, but small crystals came up around it, containing it in a crystal cage.
Looking up the mother and her child saw Kameron coming up to them. He offered them his hand in which the mother gladly accepted while Kameron gave the child her stuffed bunny.
"You dropped this, sweetheart." Kameron said sweetly to the child.
"Thank you, mister." The child replied, taking her bunny.
"You two get out of here, I've got this handled." Kameron said to the mother.
"Okay. Thank you." The mother replied as she and her child ran off.
Turning around Kameron saw the person controlled by the creature and went up to help them stand. The person was barely conscious, but was enough to stand. Kameron told the person to leave immediately and the person agreed without asking any questions.
Right when was about to look for more creatures to capture he looked up to see two glowing red eyes descending onto to him. The eyes were coming in closer and closer until Ray made herself known to him. Raising her blade she rapidly slashed it at Kameron, but seeing her blade come to him Kameron brought Venganza up, making both blades collide. Sparks flickered when the two metals came together, but Ray then pushed her body back, flipping herself in midair until she angled herself right and kicked Venganza. The sheer force from the kick pushed Kameron back, making his feet slide on the wet ground until he ultimately fell onto his back.
"You stand in our way of exterminating our targets. For that, you will be eliminated." Ray said, pointing her blade at him.
Kameron grunted slightly as he picked himself up from the ground. "I don't know what kind of past you have with my brother, but there are other things going on right now than petty vengeance. Of course, who am I to say that when I went through a similar thing. But I don't think you're going to listen to me, are you?"
"Affirmative." Ray said as she slowly bent her body down while holding her blade upwards to her right side. Her eyes flashed red as a gray aura surrounded herself. "All of Gem-kind must be terminated."
Kameron sighed as he brought up his other hand and gripped it onto Venganza's hilt. Under different circumstances having a fight with G.A.F wouldn't be too much trouble, but looking at Ray and given the current situation right now, he needs to make this quick. Lives are on the line and there's no telling how many creatures are left to capture.
Kameron's eyes glowed green right when he rushed toward Ray. Ray mimicked his actions as the rain around them started to get heavier. Coming in close both sides summoned their blades and clashed them toward each other. Kameron glared at her while Ray continued showing no emotion to him, but Kameron could take an easy guess that she was very, very furious. Both swordsmen soon pushed themselves away from each, but at the moment they distanced themselves they rushed at each other once more.
Raising up their blades they clashed. Their blades bounced off, but they clashed again and again and again. Upon the tenth clash Ray sent huge streams of slashes at her opponent. Kameron brought up Venganza right when she was hit by the barrage of slashes. However, even with Venganza protecting him Ray did manage to land a few hits in. Her blade cut onto Kameron's shoulders, the sides of his torso, his upper legs, and his stomach. Grunts exited Kameron's mouth from the sharp edges hitting his body. He could already feel drips of blood pouring out.
Bringing her sword up Ray unleashed another strong downward slash. Seeing it come to him Kameron brought up Venganza again right when both blades made contact. The attack sent a small shockwave on the area, but Kameron managed to stand his ground and pushed Ray back. In a burst of speed he made his way to her, slashing his blade to her stomach. Not wanting to give her a chance to counterattack Kameron raised Venganza up, slashing Ray's upper-body before spinning his body and kicking her chest. The attack pushed her back, making her fall onto her back.
Seeing Kameron rushing up to her Ray quickly brought herself up and without warning two wing-like structures came out of her back before she was propelled forward thanks to the thrusters in them and clashed with Kameron again. Gritting his teeth Kameron pierced the ground below him with crystals, keeping him in place as Ray continuously tried pushing him back. Her thrusters added more power to them by the second while Kameron kept himself where he was.
"Surrendering is your only valid option. You have no other options or any confirmation in defeating me. Give up." Ray said as her face was dangerously close to Kameron's.
Kameron huffed at her while his eyes glowed even brighter. "That's never gonna happen." He said strongly. "If you want to stop me, you're gonna have to kill me. But death can have me when it earns me. Today isn't the day!"
With as much strength as he could muster Kameron pushed Ray back, causing her to go airborne. Removing the crystals that binded him Kameron bent his knee and ascended into the air. Coming in close there was only one option he could take to beat her. Twisting his body Kameron slashed Venganza across Ray neck. Her head instantly came off while her body fell to the ground below. Falling to the ground Kameron grabbed her head with one arm as she stared at him.
"Do not think this is your victory." Ray said.
"Sure does look like it." Kameron replied as he turned to the buildings near him. "Not so tough without a body, huh?"
Right when Ray was about to reply Kameron tossed her head into the air. Watching it fall to the ground he sprinted up to her and launched a powerful kick, sending her head flying across the buildings. Putting Venganza on is back he began to run at the sounds of screaming in the distance.
Rushing out of a black portal Onyx locked his eyes onto the whereabouts of Catherine and the Parasite Queen. Right in front of him was the cathedral. This was a sacred place to him. A place of solace and solitude. A place where he would find comfort in his books, his crows, and...at times people. But with his own eyes his beloved cathedral was now perverted with black goo, covering it from top to bottom.
In front of the cathedral there were several G.A.F soldiers lying on the ground. Neither of them were moving an inch as Onyx made his way to them. A sigh left his mouth as he looked at the cathedral and went inside. Coming through the front door Onyx's eyes lightly widened as he witnessed a figure standing at the altar. It was...Catherine. Only...she was covered in the black substance, but her face remained uncovered, showing off black darkened eyes. There was also a large spider-like creature attached to her chest.
"Onyx..." Catherine said with an eerie voice.
Putting Lucifer on his back Onyx slowly approached her, "Catherine..."
Catherine slowly walked down the alter and approached him. Lifting her hand she placed it on his cheek, caressing it as she brought her face to his. No smile was formed on her face, but by caressing his cheek with her other hand a small hum exited her mouth.
"You left us... You hurt us... You...gave us this pain." Catherine said. "Why do you not feel? Why do you not show us what you feel?"
Onyx brought up his hands onto hers and removed them from his cheeks. His eyes locked onto hers. His hands lightly gripped onto Catherine's the more he looked at her. She was the splitting image of her great, great grandmother. She did not deserve to be placed in such a situation. She was too innocent... Too kind to be corrupted by such a perverted creature.
"I see..." Catherine said. "You want the girl... You want her. But if you want her...you must feel for her. Let me have you...Onyx."
A single tear slowly fell out of Onyx's eye, traveling across his cheek until it dropped from his chin. The spider-like creature on Catherine awed at the tear falling. Then it released it's legs on Catherine and jumped right onto Onyx's chest, gripping it's legs onto his body. Leaving Catherine's body the black substance surrounding her began to dissolve as she collapsed to the ground. Onyx watched her fall right when the Queen's black substance began to cover his body. Onyx didn't move a muscle or utter a word. Instead he stood in place while the substance covered his body. Soon after...the Queen got what it wanted.
A void...
There's was nothing but a pitch-black void; darkness within the surrounding area.
Not a glimmer of light was present. All that there was was the empty void. Well...that wasn't entirely true.
In the void there was Onyx. The Black Reaper floated in the void. His arms and legs were spread out with the expression on his face...being as it always was, blank.
Up above the Queen floated in the void. Staring down at the Black Reaper the Queen hissed at him. "You tricked us! These emotions...! They taste awful! You never wanted us at all!"
"Nice to see you've finally figured it out after bonding to me." Onyx replied nonchalantly.
"But... You cried! We saw you cry!" The Queen roared.
"A little trick I developed." Onyx replied. "You were always easy to get a handle on when it came to emotions."
The Queen hissed at him and began to fire a web out of her mouth. Seeing it come to him a white flash erupted into the void, illuminate the area and dissolving the Queen's webbing. The light soon split itself into multiple fragments and morph themselves into imagines of people. Onyx's brothers. His sisters. The residences of Destiny City. The residences of Beach City. The Crystals. Greg. Steven. Lapis. His mother. His father. Andy. Anna. The Bloods. The very people that he's come to know and have become important to him, no matter what.
"Impossible!" The Queen yelled. "Who...are you...!"
Onyx floated above and over the people before landing in front of them. The people all looked at the Queen and glared at her.
"You do not truly know me, Queen." Onyx replied. "I do not show my emotions in the same manner as others do. These individuals will never allow you to take me, no matter what you do. You are a cancer. They are the cure."
Soon after each person started illuminating the void, shining a huge flash of light at the Queen.
"GGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Back in reality the Queen soon released itself from Onyx, dropping onto the ground. The Queen soon began to twitch and stretch out all of it's legs before it's body began to shrivel up and turn gray.
Onyx walked up to the Queen, looking down at the creature that caused so much trouble. Lifting his leg he stomped right onto the Queen, squishing it right under his shoe. Once this occurred the black substance around the cathedral soon began to dissolve and ultimately disappear.
Lifting his head Onyx looked over at Catherine and walked up to her before dropping onto his knees and picking her up. He gave her a light shake, making the young woman moan as she squinted her eyes before opening them to see Onyx's face.
"Onyx?" She asked.
Onyx gave her a nod as he helped her up on her feet. Once she touched the ground she soon stumbled, making Onyx catch her in his arms. Her cheeks began to burn as she slowly wrap her arms around his torso.
"I do not wish to interrupt this moment, but I wish to check on my brother." Onyx asked.
"Just...a little longer?" Catherine asked softly as she slowly increased her grip on him.
Onyx rolled his eyes. Veronica would do the exact same thing whenever she'd embrace him. Closing his eyes he soon wrapped his arms around her.
Interview#5
In the white room Onyx slowly walked on screen and took his seat.
Author: Glad you could make it, Onyx. How are you?
Onyx blinked at the author.
The Author groaned.
Author: C'mon. You gotta talk to me. That's how these sessions work.
Onyx merely gave the Author a blank glance as he brought out his book and opened it up.
Author: The amount of talking you did in this episode was enough for you, wasn't it?
Onyx looked at the Author and gave a nod.
Author: Well...can you at least say one more thing? That's it. After that you can go home. Say one more thing to our readers.
Onyx soon turned his head to the readers.
Onyx: Goodbye.
Getting up from his seat Onyx walked out of the area while reading his book.
Author: Well...at least he didn't try to attack me.
End of Episode 68.
Hope you all enjoyed this. I certainly did as Onyx isn't too hard for me to write, but he is still a little complex to work with. But hey, he's an alright kinda guy.
