"Jay can you take this phone to Mouse and see if he can track out who sent this text." Adam asked before heading back to Kim. Jay handed him a box of tissues before he left the room. "Kim. We are going to figure this out. I promise you that." Adam rubbed her back as she cried. Voight came into see what happened. "Give me a second Kim." Adam. Stood up and handed her the tissue box. They left the break room and into the office. "She got a text telling her she was a bad girl for going to the cops. She's pretty broken up about this." Adam headed back to Kim, he grabbed a water for her. "Here drink up. I know know upset but you need to drink some water." Adam got her to drink some.

"I can't stay at that hotel again. He already found me there. Where do I go now?" Kim asked almost to herself. "Well first write down the hotel name and room number and give me the key. I will have patrol officers go empty the room for you. And then tonight you decide where you want to stay and we will have you in protective custody." Adam stayed as he tried to calm her down. "I can't let people watch me. It puts them in danger. I can't put them out. But I have rehearsal today and a performance tonight. I can't take tons of time off." Kim hung her head low. "First this is what we get paid for. We will have two cops in plain clothes escort you to and from your appointments today. And then tonight I will be your protective custody. That way it's only me invading your space. Does that work for you?" Adam asked her.

"Are you sure? I don't want to put you out." Kim asked shyly. "Of course. I want to help you. So let me get your guards set up and I will be right back. Also we will get you a burner phone in case you need to call for help." Adam left the room leaving Kim alone with her thoughts. "Okay so I promised her protective custody to and from rehearsal and performances. A burner phone since we are scrubbing her phone and i told her I would stay with her tonight so she is safe at home. She's scared, I feel for her." Adam announced to the group including his boss. "Yeah that works. We will protect her." Voight said before Adam interrupts. "Oh I also told her we would have someone clean out her hotel room so she doesn't have to go back there." Adam added as he went to his desk. "Okay so let's get all this taken care of so we can get her going again. It also will bring this stalker out of hiding. And we need that." Voight says as he went back into the office as the team got to work.

Adam was able to get the protective custody all set up and they started right away by taking Kim to her rehearsal. Orders were to bring Kim back to the district in between to see if the stalker showed himself. As Kim left the district her eyes stayed locked on Adam and he noticed for sure. The entire unit did. "Ruzek! She's a victim. Doesn't matter how you feel or she feels right now. It can't happen while we are working her case!" Voight went into his office leaving the team to watch Adam as his face dropped. He knew what Voight meant but he still didn't like it.

Mouse entered the room with Kim's phone. "Okay so I did some digging. The number that texted Kim was a burner phone but I traced it to the store it was purchased at. It was paid for in cash but I have a photo of the person who bought it. He's not in the system. But I also found this guy who is a new employee at the Opera House and he has a connection to Kim's parents. I'm waiting for a recent photo of the guy to see if it matches the guy who bought the phone. But Kim mention her parents or someone they knew working at the Opera House?" Mouse asked knowing he doesn't get all the info. "No she didn't mention them. Or anyone new at work. She's coming back after rehearsal we can ask her then." Adam answered as they continued to look for more connections.

By the time Kim returned they were pretty sure they knew who the stalker was, problem was they couldn't find him. He hadn't shown up for work and he wasn't at home. "Kim. We would like to show you some photos is that okay?" Adam asked as he brought her to the break room. She saw the white board and stopped moving. "I know that guy. He works at the Opera House as a janitor. I've talked to him several times. Is he the one?" Kim whipped around to look at Adam. "We think so but we can't find him yet. Also he has a connection to your parents. Have then mentioned him?" Adam asked her noticing her face. "I don't know. I haven't talked to them in 10 years. What's the connection?" Kim asked watching the team look away.

"Let's talk in here and you can sit down. So your parents sold their house last year as a short sale. Which means they were going to lose it in foreclosure if they couldn't sell it fast. They sold it tagged as the child hood home of you. And this guy is the one that bought it. You said the person took your first pointe shoes, first costume, lucky earrings. We think he's obsessed with you and trying recreate your childhood in that home." Adam explains. "But I never lived there. I visited once when I was 13 almost 14. They bought that house while I was away. It's total crap! They are still screwing me over even now!" Kim cried out as her body shook from the sobs. Adam pulled her in for a hug. He knew it was wrong but she was broken right now.

Adam had so many questions he wanted to ask but he knew it wasn't the right time. He just tried to stay in the moment with her to try to calm her down. It seemed like an hour before she stopped crying. "How do I do this? Why is this happening? Why can't they leave my damn life alone?" Kim was talking to herself again. "I wish I had answers for you. But you are incredibly strong and you will get through this." Adam rubbed her back a bit as she closed her eyes and focused on her breathing. "How about I get you something to eat? You need to keep your strength up since you have to preform tonight." Adam suggested. Kim just nodded but didn't really respond.

"Erin I need your help. I told Kim I would get her lunch. What do dancers eat? Salad?" Adam wasn't sure if she on a specific diet or not. "Dude I don't know but salad sounds right, make sure it has healthy protein on it. Dressing on the side." Erin has no clue either. Sure she was thin but she ate horribly and worked out. Adam ordered the food and worked at his desk while he waited for the food to be delivered. The team worked to find the stalker but was running into a brick wall each time. When the food arrived he took it into the break room. Kim was curled up asleep on the couch. "Kim. Honey the food is here. You need to eat okay." Adam woke her gently. She smiled grateful for kindness Adam showed her. "I will be out here if you need anything okay." Adam waited for her to nod before he left her alone again. He could tell she was overwhelmed by all this information.

Adam checked on her later and noticed she has eaten and cleaned up after herself but was napping again. He headed back to his desk to grab his jacket to cover her as she napped. He didn't want her to get cold in the break room. After he left he saw Erin's face giving him semi sad face. "I know. But I can't help it." Adam shook it off as he walked back to his desk to work. Later in the day he saw her protective detail coming back into the room. It was time for her to leave. "Let me wake her." Adam stood and headed towards Kim. "Kim it's time to wake up so you can go to your performance." Adam nudged her a little. The soft smile as she opened her eyes warmed his hearted some. "Thank you for the jacket. I will see you afterwards right?" Kim asked softly. "Yes I will see you at your home. You are safe with these guys okay." Adam smiled at her as she nodded and got up from the couch.

He watched her walk out of the bullpen. It was crazy how he was feeling about this girl he just met. But he knew he needed to keep a level head. He worked the case trying find her stalker so she could rest easy but he was in hiding knowing the cops were involved. As the night continued Adam kept in touch Kim's protective detail making sure there was no sign of her stalker. He was sent pictures of her throughout the night as well to prove she was doing well. As she finished her night the detail drove her home where Adam was waiting at the door for her. "Alright guys I got it from here. Thank you for all help today." Adam shook their hands and he was left alone with Kim.

"Welcome to my home. Please make yourself at home. I'm gonna shower and change and will be back out shortly." Kim left him to look around her place. He had been there before but he was looking for evidence. This felt different. He found something to drink in the fridge and settled onto the couch to await her return. When she returned she was dressed in a simple tank and sleep shorts. "I didn't say it earlier but thank you for everything you are doing for me. I really appreciate it." Kim grabbed his hand to squeeze it. "You dint have to thank me. It's my job and I care about you. More than I should but I do." Adam's eyes flitted towards her to see a smirk on her face. "But I can't do anything about it right now because of the case. But know I do care about you." Adam admitted wanting to be honest with her. "I care about you too. And more than I should. My life doesn't allow for this but I really like you. From the moment I first saw you I knew we were connected." Kim watched his eyes go wide at her confession.

"Just so you know. When this is over I'm here. I would like to try. I know your life is crazy and so is mine. Our schedules are intense but this connection is worth it to me. So when you are ready let me know." Adam was leaving the ball firmly in her court. "Well since we have to wait how about we talk?" Kim suggested. "I love that idea. Can I ask about your parents? What happened there?" Adam asked her as she sank further in her seat. "I will tell you but I need something stronger than water to drink first. I know you are duty technically but I needs drink." Kim laughed as she headed to the kitchen returning with a large glass of wine.

"It's a very long story. So I started dancing at 5, which is normal but I showed promise apparently so my mom signed me up for classes as 4 different studios, which isn't really allowed. Most times it wasn't even my real name so no one would know. By 9 I getting recruited to work professionally but I had no idea. At 10 I was signed to a contract to dance in a company that worked in Europe. So my parents sent me to Europe to work but I didn't understand why they didn't come with me. And even worse I didn't know I was getting paid. I always had to ask my parents to send me things I needed and they always sent me a step down item. So instead of Nike I would get Reebok. As you know I only went home once during my first contract and it was to that house. They drove really nice cars, the house was huge, the clothes were fancy. It was odd to me." Kim took a sip before continuing.

"When I flew back an older kid that I worked with told me that I needed to contact a lawyer. I was beyond confused as to why I needed a lawyer but I called and after talking to him for a bit be said he would look into it and call me back. When he finally called I found out my parents were spending my salary. It was how they were paying for their lifestyle. So I started the process to emancipate from my parents. Little did I know they signed me into another 5 year contract while we were battling in court. Anyway I won my freedom at 15 and they have to pay me back 750 a month. Compared to what they stole it's not much but since they weren't working really it's all I could get. So yeah great parents." Kim looked over at Adam seeing the shock on his face.

"Wow that's insane! So what happened after that?" Adam asked. "I worked for 5 more years all over Europe. I went crazy over there for a bit because I could. Drinking, smoking pot, clubbing, bars, I had a blast. I even got suspended a couple of times. I was probably 17 was I settled down again. At 18 I started looking for a way home. I was emailing every dance company in America looking for a spot. I didn't care if it was in small town Idaho I wanted to come home. I wanted to learn how to drive, I wanted to live somewhere and not out of a suitcase. I wanted a place where I belonged. So Chicago had a job opening 3 months after I was supposed to get home and they offered me part time work to help me out till the position I have now opened. I lived in this really horrible ghetto apartment, like I was the only white girl for blocks that wasn't a hooker. It was insane. But I needed a place to live while this was being built. I designed the whole place, even if it won't resell I love it." Kim smiled thinking of her journey.

"That sounds completely insane! Now I see why you don't talk to them and why you said they screwed you over. You've come a long way. You should be proud of yourself." Adam looked at her with love in his eyes. He knew it was wrong but he kissed her softly. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that." Adam moved back to his seat mad at himself. "Yes you should have. But I know we can't right now. And it's kind of late so I'm gonna turn in. Good night Adam." Kim started to walk away but leaned in to kiss him hard and full of passion. "Just to keep you interested." And she was gone. Her door shut and he was left stunned.

Several hours later Adam awoke to a noise coming from the front door. It sounded like someone was trying to break in. He called it in immediately and went to wake Kim. "Kim wake up! Someone's trying to break in. Go in your closet and wait for me. Take your phone just in case." Kim ran into the closet and was very well hidden, even Adam couldn't see her. He walked back towards the door and waited. He knew back up was on the way and he wasn't opening the door if he didn't have to. "Let me in! I know you're in there! Going to the cops was the wrong move! You are going to pay for that!" The nan screamed through the door. Just as the door burst open Adam was ready to take down the offender. But he didn't go down with out a fight. Armed with a knife he waved it around screaming for Kim while lunging at Adam. He managed to stab Adam in the flank before his back up arrived.

"Ruzek? You okay man?" Kevin asked seeing the blood on Adam. "Yeah it's not that bad. I have to find Kim. I told her to hide in the closet." Adam winced at the pain when he moved. He couldn't find her. He called her name but nothing. He called her phone. "Kim where are you? It's safe to come out now." Adam watched as the mirror on the wall moved. The team behind him shocked to see her hidden closet. "It only opens with my finger prints." Kim shrugged before flipping out. "Adam your bleeding! We need to get you to the hospital now!" Kim cried out as she went to touch him but he made sure she didn't get blood on her. "Now I know you are safe I will go. But you need to rest." Kim ignored him and moved towards her room to throw on some more clothes. Paramedics had arrived to asses Adams injuries and bring him to Med with Kim by his side the entire time.

The team watched as she held his hand walking out the door. They knew it was game on for them now and truly they looked cute together so they wished them luck. The ride to med was quiet but they stayed connected the entire ride. Kim Of course wasn't allowed in the treatment room so she waiting in the lobby with his team who had arrived behind him. "Can you tell us what happened?" Voight asked hoping to figure this all out. "I don't really know. We stayed up late talking and I went to bed. He stayed in the living room. When he woke me he said someone was trying to break in and I should hide in my closet and take my phone just in case. He didn't know about the hidden room so I knew it was safe. It's sound proof so I didn't hear anything. I'm sorry that's not much help." Kim sat down defeated.

"You did good. You are safe and he will be fine. The good news is we got him. And you are safe now." Voight tried to make her smile with the good news but it didn't help she needed to see Adam. "Hey he's going to be fine. He was able to come find you. If it was really bad he wouldn't have been able to do that." Kevin knew his best friend liked this girl so he was trying to get to know her some. "I hope so. I uh told him that I like him. He was surprised but I kissed him before I went to bed. I couldn't help it. He has to be okay." Kim cried as she waited for news about Adam. She barely knew him but she felt an intense connection to him, she was drawn to him. "Trust me, all of us, he feels the same." Kevin gave her a side hug while they waited.

"Family of Adam Ruzek?" The doctor called out. "That's us." Voight offered. The doctor looked like he didn't believe him but with the badges on each of them he didn't question it. "Okay so he's in surgery right now to repair a small tear in the muscle. It won't be a long surgery and we expect him to make a full recover. About 6 weeks of desk duty though. Probably little to no rehab after as well. He did want me to tell Kim that he's going to be fine. And not to cry." The Doctor laughed when he saw the crying girl laugh at his words. The team settled into their seats as they waited for surgery to be over.

Hours later the team and Kim were escorted to Adams room to visit before leaving for the night. They all left quickly but Kim stated behind. "I was so scared for you." Kim admitted as she touched his cheek. "Me too. Good job with the hidden room though." Adam was proud of her for having a room like that even if it was a closet. "Well I guess we are free now huh?" Kim shrugged as she leaned over to kiss Adam with every ounce of passion she could muster. Adam gave as good as he got, moaning into the kiss. "God damn girl. You trying to kill me?" Adam laughed before kissing her again. "Lay with me please. I want to sleep next to you for the rest of the night." Kim curled into his good side and they both fell asleep together for the first time. They both were excited to see where this would lead and knew it would be one hell of a ride.
