Hello everyone, I'm here once again to write another crossover story about our favorite Gargoyles. I wrote one before (if you haven't read it, I would really appreciate you read it. It's actually one of my favorite stories I've written so far. You don't have to if you don't want to it's ok) Anyways, I've decided to do anyone because I thought this might actually work. If not, well….at least I gave it a shot. What's the story about, well all I can tell you it brings two of my favorite childhood items together; Yugioh and Gargoyles. Am I crazy for trying this, possibly but like I said, you never know unless you try. So, come join me and enjoy this crossover, in which I call; The Cards of life.

Manhattan, New York

Debris falling from the sky, people scattering, giant claw marks on solid stone. Detective Elisa Maza makes her way towards the scene of the crime, The Eyrie Building. She parks her car and makes her way to Officer Morgan, who was trying to get the crowd under control.

"Get Back! Everyone Get Back!"

Elisa shows Morgan her badge, "Detective Maza, 23rd what's going on?"

"You got me, detective. It looks like a party up there." They look up towards the top of the building. At least, they tried, as the top of the building was covered with grey dark clouds and thunder shook the very ground they stood. Suddenly, a loud bang was heard as debris came crashing down on the people below. Elisa and Officer Morgan jumped of the way, just in time. Other people ran for their lives. Elisa looks up and heard more banging sounds coming from the building. She looks over her shoulder to see bystanders not moving.

"Get Back! All of you!" The bystanders quickly ran for safety.

"You guys want to be street pizza." She murmured. She turns her attention to one of the stone pieces.

"Claw mark?" Elisa got a closer look. "What can be strong enough to leave claw marks on solid stone?"

Meanwhile…

Domino City, Japan

A golden box, the eye of Anubis, puzzle pieces scattered all around.

14-year-old Yugi Muto sat at his desk in his room, alone. He was always alone. He didn't have any friends at school, expect his childhood friend Tea. Yugi wasn't the tallest in his class, nor the most athletic. He was very shy, and very timid with a big heart, which unfortunately made him a target. Every day, he would constantly hide from bullies. But, it's not all bad for Yugi. There was one thing that makes Yugi happy; games. He loved games. After all, solving puzzles and games were his specialty. Living with his grandfather at his game shop, help too. One day for his birthday, Yugi's grandfather gave him the ultimate gift, the Millennium Puzzle. His grandfather told him that no one has ever solved the puzzle. He challenged Yugi into solving it and he gladly accepted it. Day in and day out, Yugi would work on the puzzle. Tonight, is no exception.

Yugi looks over at the golden puzzle pieces in front of him.

"Today's the day." He said, "I'm gonna solve this puzzle tonight, I just know it." As Yugi kept working on the puzzle, for some reason the pieces were fitting together perfectly.

'It's coming to me so easily, now.' Yugi stare at the pieces.

'It's starting to take form. It looks like…a pyramid but upside down.' With determination, he kept on working, not knowing the dark shadows surrounding his room.

Manhattan

Detective Maze made her way to the rooftop. One thing that made this building stand out from the rest, there was a castle at the very top of the building. After talking to Xanatos, the owner of the building and grilling him on what occurred, Elisa knew she had to investigate.

"This investigation isn't over yet."

Elisa reached the door to the castle and went inside. The castle was decorated with medieval artifacts. She walked through the dark and eerie hallways, keeping her guard up. Eventually, she stumbled upon a flight of stairs.

"Why do I get the feeling this is the part were Dracula shows up." Knowing there was no turning back, Elisa made her way up, not knowing a creature lurking in the shadows. Elisa made her way to the top, amazed by sight before her.

"Whoa." The sight of the city took her breath away.

"It's beautiful." Suddenly, Elisa heard footsteps coming from behind. Acting quickly, Elisa leaned against the wall, hiding herself from the preps view. She took out her gun and waited. She heard the footsteps got closer, she made her move.

"Ok, pal show me your hands nice and easy." The shadowy figure emerged from the shadows. Elisa let out a gasped. It wasn't a human at all but a creature. She pointed the gun at the creature, but it was quickly snatch. Elisa's eyes grew wider as she saw another creature much bigger than the one behind her. The creature crushed the weapon without even a thought. Elisa took a step back, failing to realize there was a gap in-between the back wall. The creature noticed this and tried to stop her, but it was too late. Elisa took the step back, losing her balance, causing her to fall backwards.

"Ahhh!"

Domino City

The puzzle was close to completion, all the pieces were fitting perfectly.

"I'm almost there, just a few more." As Yugi placed another piece in the puzzle, the shadow creature grew closer to him. Finally, with a smile on his face Yugi grab the last and final piece. Holding his breath, Yugi gentle placed the final piece in the middle.

"There! I did it! The Millennium Puzzle is complete!" Yugi look at the puzzle in awe.

"Alright time to make my wish." With a deep breath, he closed his eyes made his wish.

'Please Millennium Puzzle hear my wish. I wish for true friends. Friends who will always be there for me and I can be there for them. Friends, that I can always count on. Please Millennium Puzzle make my wish come true.'

Yugi opened his eyes, hoping his wish was heard. The puzzle began to radiate a powerful energy. 'Something's not right.'

"Hey, what's going on?" Suddenly, dark shadow creatures emerge from the eye of Anubis. The shadow creature surrounded Yugi. The creatures growled at him but there was something about the creatures that seems familiar to him.

'They look like Duel Monsters' Slowly a devilish Kuriboh creature started to charge at Yugi.

"Ahhh!"

Manhattan

Elisa screams as she plummeted to the ground. With no hesitation, the creature spread its wings and jumped, gliding towards her. As the creature reached closer to the detective, he reached out his hand. Elisa stretched out her hand, grabbing a hold of the creatures hand. Just in the nick of time. Pulling the detective closer to him, the creature glided them to safety. They landed onto a ledge. He gently place her down. Carefully, Elisa examine the creature in front of her. He was a tall creature with lavender skin, and sharp talons. His wings clasp together as if he was wearing a cape of some sort. He had long black hair and a tail. But, what caught the detectives eyes were his eyes.

'I've never seen eyes like that before.' Even though his body was strong and tough in texture, there was something about his eyes that made her feel safe. After a few moments, Elisa spoke.

"Tha-thank you for saving me."

"What were you doing in my castle?"

'He spoke.' "You-you can talk. Who? What are you?"

"I am a gargoyle. My kind have no name for themselves, but you humans have called me Goliath."

"Your kind? You mean there's more than one of you?" She asked.

"Barely." The creature Goliath turn his back to Elisa.

"Wait. Don't go."

Goliath turned back. Elisa couldn't help but look at his soft brown eyes again. "Um…listen we either have to get down to the street or go up to the castle. Since you can fly-"

"I can't fly." He interrupted, "I can only glide on the currents of wind. There isn't current strong enough that can lift us up."

"So, we're stuck here." Elisa stared at the ground below. There was no sense in jumping. Suddenly she felt her body being lifted. Goliath wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Hold on." Using his sharp talons, Goliath began his ascend up the building. Elisa was in awe with the creatures' strength. As they ascended further up the building, Elisa made the mistake of turning towards the ground. Seeing how high up they were, Elisa tighten her grip.

"Trust me, I won't let you fall."

For some reason Elisa believe him, "I do."

Domino City

The devilish Kuriboh began its charge at the young boy. The Millennium Puzzle glowed once again, light surrounded Yugi, protecting him for the shadow creatures. Then, something unexpected happened. The light engulf into Yugi, causing him to transform.

"YU-GI-OH!"

Standing before the creatures wasn't Yugi. He looked similar to him, however the appearance was different. The shadow creature couldn't care less as the once again charge forward at the nameless boy. With the eye of Anubis glowing in his forehead and the puzzle at hand, the nameless being knew what he had to do.

"Shadow creatures be gone! I command you!" The shadow creature shriek in pain as the light devours them.

"Return to the dark realm in which you came!" The puzzle's light devoured every creature until they were all return back inside the puzzle. The light dissipates into the puzzle as Yugi woke up back in his room. Looking around his room, everything was back to normal.

'I don't know what happened, but...' Yugi look down at his puzzle, 'I get a feeling, this is just the beginning.

Manhattan

The sun slowly began to ascend from the horizon. Elisa stood once again at the top of the castle. The events that unfold, befriending the new creature known as gargoyles, the betrayal that occur from the people they trusted the most, slumber was somewhat of a blessing for all of them. Goliath and the others prepared themselves. Elisa watched as the sun creeped itself up from the sky.

"It's nice to know that I least have one human friend in this new world." Goliath said.

"I hope you have more, lots more. But, whether you do or not, I'll always be your friend Goliath." Elisa smiled, "Same time tomorrow night."

It was Goliath turn to smile, "Of course."

"Great! Maybe we'll catch a Giants game too."

Her comment caught the gargoyle off guard, "Giants!" Just as the sun peek over the horizon, Goliath and the others turned into stone.

Elisa couldn't help but laugh at his expression, "I wonder if this city is ready for you guys."

'A new beginning.' A smile grew on her face as she took out her locket she had hidden in her shirt. She open the locket to reveal a photo, 'Maybe, one day I can share this new beginning with you.' She held the locket a bit tighter before deciding to leave for a long-awaited rest.

They say destiny has a funny way of creeping up on people. But for Elisa and Yugi their destiny will bring them something they never thought they needed.
