"Try not to notice the cameras, Marinette. Most of the time they just blend into the background," Adrien told her. "Oh, I'm not worried," she waved her hand. "I'm just glad we get to hang out together."
They were at the park waiting for the carousel. Adrien sighed. For this particular photo shoot he needed to look like he was on a fake date and make it look convincing. However, Adrien really liked Marinette. Maybe even had a crush on her. "Adrien? You there?" "Oh, sorry. Marinette, I…." Adrien fumbled with his words, and sighed. Fumbling with his words was so unlike him. "Yes?" Adrien leaned close, whispering in her ear. "I wish this were a real date, and soon I'll take you on a good and proper one."
He felt Marinette squeeze his hand. "Adrien, your friendship means everything to me. And even if its not a actual date, I'm having fun." Adrien's face lit up. "Really?" she nodded. "Now, let's find a horse to ride into the sunset!"
Adrien was about to climb on his, when he noticed Marinette standing there. "Need some help?" "Yeah, how do you just choose one? They're all pretty!" Adrien chuckled. "Knowing your taste, I would suggest…." he lead her to not just a pony but a unicorn. "Will this magical steed do?" Marinette laughed. "That sounds like something Kitty would say. And yes, its perfect!" "Here, I'll help you up."
Adrien felt like prancing back to his own horse. He loved when Marinette called him Kitty. The ride started, and he caught sight of Marinette. Her bluebell eyes sparkled, and her black hair blew back in the wind. "Wow, your so pretty," Adrien said, dreamily. "Oh, you think I'm pretty?" Marinette squealed. "I mean, the horse is pretty. With you on it." Stop talking, Agreste! "Nice try, but its a unicorn."
Ah, there was his Princess. As sassy as ever. After the ride, there was a line for ice cream. A group of girls came up. "Adrien! Adrien! Could we get your photo?" Adrien sighed. He didn't want a photo right now. Sure, maybe he wasn't on a "real date" right now, but that didn't mean he didn't want ignore Marinette. "Sorry, we need to go," Marinette told the girls, leading him away.
"Thanks for helping me back there," Adrien said, digging into his scoop of vanilla. "I could tell you weren't in the mood."
They were quiet for a minute. From across the street, Adrien heard of his favorite slow songs play from one of the outdoor restaurants. "Marinette?" he asked, tossing his empty dish. "Would you like to dance?" Marinette nodded shyly.
"Here, I'll lead," Adrien guided her into his arms. Marinette sighed happily as they danced in a slow circle. When the music came to a close, Adrien stopped, but kept her in his arms. "Maybe its a real date after all," he looked at her, wanting to kiss her. Marinette, sensing what he wanted, leaned in, meeting his lips. For two best friends who were supposed to be "fake dating" it was a very convincing kiss.
