A/NOkay, that jigsaw puzzle chapter is taking a while. I know I got you all excited now I'm gonna waste your time talking about tracking down Ryker. I'm sorry. Tell you what if you're patient, I'll have Master Chief Child cook you up a virtual veggie pizza no olives. However, if you annoy me, it will be the Buy More fridge for you.
Let's get into it. Chuck is about to explain his plan to Sarah, it's a lot of computer nerd stuff. A lot of it is just words I threw in to impress Sarah. Chuck wants to look good for her. However, Sarah is a good wife and she'll act like she's interested. If you're a good guest, you'll do the same.

Chapter 23: My Purple Flower
Chuck sighs, "I'm sorry I have to put you through this Hon. Casey has been coming up empty. I had this idea I wanted to try. Now, don't get your hopes up, this guy is good at disappearing. For my idea to work I need to know every detail about him and… where he sent you."
Sarah sighs, "it's okay Chuck, you made a promise and I know you. You won't stop until you keep it. But Baby, please don't let it make you crazy."
Chuck opens his laptop and begins typing, "Did you mean crazier? Okay Sarah, I'm going to create a search parameter based on the information I get from you. Then I'm going to send my little spiders out to search the web for any matches that are even close. The fun part will come in when I have to filter out all the noise and get the raw data I need. Using that data, I'll refine my parameters. Then using mass quantities of bots to search for me, hopefully we'll find Ryker. As I said, don't get your hopes up. This is a long shot and win or lose, it will take a while."
Sarah looks across the desk at Chuck, "Baby, I have no idea what you said, but I'm very turned on right now."
Chuck laughs, "Sarah, control yourself, or I'll never get this started much less done."
Sarah is breathing hard, her chest rising and falling. "Two years Mr. Bartowski, we have to make up for two years. Ask your questions, and when you're done, I'm going to…"
There is a knock at the door. "Hold that thought." Chuck pushes the button to unlock the office door. Casey walks in with Mrs. Sawyer. "Folks, I have good news, what Mrs. S. told us seems to be the extent of her information. Buzzsaw had no play in this at all."
Mrs. Sawyer walks over and hugs Chuck. "Boss I'm so sorry. I had no idea that I was doing anything wrong. I would never hurt you knowingly."
Chuck stands up and hugs her back, "I never doubted that Mrs. S., we're good. Are you okay? Was John mean to you? If he was, I'll have Mr. Grimes kick his ass."
Everyone laughs, "No Boss he was a perfect gentleman, although he did seem to grunt more than usual." Chuck and Sarah laugh, Casey grunts. Mrs. Sawyer sounds worried, "Boss, is Thomas in trouble?"
Chuck sighs, "Mrs. S. I wish I could reassure you. But until this is all cleared up, I can't make any guarantees. However, if what Mr. Casey just told us holds up, I think he'll be fine. John, Diane is waiting for your call. She's not happy. She also wants you to get in touch with Jim. John, she filled Frank in, stay on top of it."
Casey turns towards the door. "On it Boss, Mrs. S., thanks for helping us out. Do I need to remind you to stay away from Mrs. Rabb?" Mrs. Sawyer shakes her head. "Good, see you all later. Chuck, I'll keep you looped in, stay careful." Casey leaves.
Chuck walks Mrs. Sawyer to the door, "Mrs. S. are you doing, okay? Would you like to go home?"
She shakes her head, "I'm fine Boss, I'd rather get caught up."
Chuck smiles, "Somehow, I knew that. You may not be able to contact Thomas for a while. No need for concern, I know that he's okay. We'll let you know whatever we can, okay?"
"Thanks Boss, Ms. Walker, I'm sorry for any trouble I've caused." She turns to look at Chuck, "Boss are you sure we're not spies?"
Sarah laughs, "Mrs. Sawyer, if you were a spy, don't you think you would know."
Mrs. Sawyer shrugs, "Yes, I suppose I would." She leaves the office and Chuck closes the door.
Chuck walks over and sits on Sarah's lap, she holds him tight. He sighs, "Baby, let's go home and do naughty things, I'm exhausted."
Sarah laughs, "You're the Boss Mr. B.. Baby, maybe you need a vacation?"
Chuck sighs, "I just got back from a Mediterranean cruise, didn't seem all that relaxing." He kisses Sarah, "Although it wasn't all bad. I did get to fly a jet."
Sarah looks at him, shocked, "Oh really! That was the highlight of that trip, flying the jet?"
Chuck looks at her puzzled, "Why? Is there something I'm forgetting?"
Sarah smiles, "No Sweetheart, I know there's nothing you're forgetting. I love you, Chuck. Now get off my lap, ask me some questions and then we can go home."
Chuck whines, "I don't wanna. I like it here."
Sarah chuckles, then whispers in his ear. Chuck reacts shocked, "Mrs. Bartowski, that's disgusting…Can we do it twice?"
Sarah laughs, "Baby we can do it as much as you like. Now questions."
Chuck grumbles, gets up and walks over to retake his place in front of the laptop. "Okay, tell me what you know about Ryker: His full name?"
"Kiernan Ryker"
"Age?"
"Hmmmm, he was probably in his early 40's."
"Height?"
"six foot, one or two"
"Weight?"
"I would say about 185, athletic build. Now remember this was around six years ago."
"Describe his appearance and what you picked up about him."
"White Male, pale complexion, brown hair, brown eyes. He liked to wear jackets, and dress sporty. He had a slight New York Accent, like maybe from upstate. He came across as an educated man. Confident bordering on cocky."
"Last time you saw him?"
"Budapest, Hungary, 2007."
Chuck finishes typing the info in. "Okay, now it gets a little rougher for you."
"What was the name of the family… Molly's Family?"
Sarah takes a deep breath, "Aldozat… the family name was Aldozat."
Chuck can see Sarah's eyes are tearing up, "Hon, are you okay, we can do this another time, there's no rush?"
Sarah nods, "The sooner I help you, the sooner I get Mom back. "Molly's birth name is Leszbi, Leszbi értékes Aldozat. I was able to grab the familiy papers before I left. I have them stashed if you need them."
Chuck nods, "They may come in handy later, we'll see. Okay now tell me what you can about the place he sent you."
"It was a mansion, a large one. The chandeliers were crystal. They were huge. This place was the very meaning of opulent. I remember a long, wide staircase going up. They were in a large open room at the top of the stairs, like a foyer of sorts. They were eating, the men that I..."
Chuck stops her, "Were there any pictures that caught your eye."
Sarah closes her eyes, "Several, there was a portrait of a man painting a painting.
Another was of a wagon, like for an old-time traveling show. There were a bunch of clowns sitting near it. It had the word circus across the top."
Chuck asks, "Anymore?"
Sarah takes a deep breath, "Yes, I can't forget this one. Her parents, Molly's mother, and father were lying dead. They were under the painting of a clown smoking a pipe. I only caught it out of the corner of my eye. Later, when I was replaying it in my mind, I noted how strange and tragic it seemed."
Sarah's eyes are closed tightly as she works to recall the event, "Statues, there were statues. A naked woman holding a baby, a pregnant woman, and a naked boy just standing there. Something was the same." Sarah is searching for a word, her eyes pop open. "Bronze, they were all bronze."
Sarah opens her eyes and slumps in her chair, "Hon, I could really use some hugs right now, Can we finish tomorrow?"
Chuck gets up and offers his hand to Sarah. She takes it and stands. He holds her close, "Of course Baby. I'm sorry to make you go through all this."
Sarah looks up into Chuck's eyes, she takes a deep breath, "I love you husband, I have no doubt that you're going to give Mom and Molly back to me."
Chuck bends and kisses Sarah softly, "I'm going to do my best, but right now we're going home, to share one of Julian's veggie pizzas. He sent us three of them. I froze them and the tamales. Let me make sure Mrs. Sawyer went home." He opens the door to the outer office. It's dark. "Good, she left." He takes Sarah by the hand and walks with her out the back door to the elevator. "Baby, any chance you can whip up a chocolate souffle for breakfast on Sunday, hold the poison please?"
Sarah laughs, "You mean if Ellie doesn't kill me."
Chuck works to stay positive, as the elevator starts to rise. "Baby, I'm so excited, you get to play with Clara. She's gonna love you. She gives the best hugs. Sarah, Ellie loves you. Remember that, and eventually, I'm sure she will too. Tomorrow morning we'll finish up my questions. Then I'll get some coding done. We also need to pack for the weekend. We should get to bed early tomorrow night. We have to be at the airport by 5:30 so we can be in the air by six. I guess I can do some of that coding once we're in the air."
The elevator door slides open. Sarah takes Chuck's hand and opens the apartment door. "Oh Baby, you won't have time to do any computer work during the flight."
Chucks follows Sarah into the kitchen, "Sarah, it's a four-hour flight, what are we supposed to do, to pass the time?"
Sarah turns the oven on to heat the pizza, "Don't worry Sweetheart, I'll think of something to keep you occupied."
Chuck gets a big smile on his face, "Mrs. Bartowski, are you talking about sex?"
Sarah smiles shyly, "Mr. Bartowski, let me remind you, us Bartowskis don't just talk, we do."
Chuck stands behind Sarah as she bends to put the pizza in the oven. Sarah is smiling, "Chuck you know this is a big kitchen, plenty of room. No need to stand right on top of me."
Chuck reaches down to pull her back to him as she shuts the oven door. "But Baby, I like to be right on top of you."
Sarah laughs as she turns to face him, "Yes, Sweetheart I like that as well, but unless we want burned pizza, that will have to wait."
Chuck holds her tight, "You do know, there is no way I would choose the pizza."
Chuck puts his finger under Sarah's chin and lifts her face to look in her eyes. "Sarah Lisa Bartowski, I love you so much. I don't want to wait anymore. I want to start our family. I hired an architect to work with you on designs to upgrade the house. Everyone who counts, knows we're married. I don't want to wait any longer."
Sarah looks into Chuck's eyes, "I don't want to wait either, but we have to. Not everyone knows. Ellie doesn't know. Telling her should be lots of fun. I still want to get married with our families there. My mom, Mollie, Ellie, Devon, Clara. I want them there to see me marry the best man in the world, to be happy for me. Do you really want me to walk down the aisle looking like the Goodyear Blimp?"
The oven timer dings, Sarah turns to get a couple of plates down. Chuck pulls a bottle of wine from the fridge. "You know Mrs. B., I hate it when you're right. I hope you don't plan on making a habit of it."
Sarah carries the pizza and plates to the dining room table. "Mr. B, the only habit I plan on having is you."
Chuck joins her at the table and pours two glasses of the red wine, "I could live with that."
They sit at the table and Sarah takes Chuck's hand, "Honey, I know we have a lot going on. I'm really clear that we're not Mister and Mrs. Average. I'm also aware at how incredibly fortunate we are to have each other. We will have our family, soon. I promise I won't let anything get in our way." Chuck shrugs.
Sarah continues, "I know that I made us wait longer than we had to. I also know that extra time gave us an opportunity to grow, to become better partners, to be better parents. Two years ago, I could never have appreciated you as much as I do now."
Sarah is pleading as she leans towards him, and squeezes his hand tighter, "Please Baby, please be patient just a little while longer. My heart tells me that very soon you will make Mom and Molly safe. Then we can finally bring our families together. Do you hear that Sweetheart? Sarah Walker Bartowski is talking about her feelings. You did that, your patience and understanding helped me find my voice."
Chuck nods, "Okay, we'll wait. I want us to have your family there to help raise our kids. Let's eat before I change my mind, throw you on the table and have my way with you."
The couple relax and enjoy their dinner, "Mmmm, Julian's pizza is so good, even reheated. We should get into the frozen food business. His recipes for pizza and tamales alone could make us rich people."
Chuck shakes his head, "Great idea Sweetheart, because we don't have enough on our plates right now. Speaking of things on our plate. You brought up a good question, when do we tell Ellie? Should we keep it a secret? With so many people knowing already, it could be risky."
Sarah Brings her left foot up under her bottom, she sits back and sips from her glass of wine. "Seems to me we're going to have to deal with Hurricane Ellie no matter what. I'm all for weathering the heavy winds all at once. Plus, if someone slips and she doesn't hear it from you, from us, it will add to her hurt."
Chuck nods, "I married a very wise woman." He sighs, "We'll tell her Saturday, in person." Chuck hesitates, he leans forward and puts his hand on Sarah's knee, "Baby, she's going to take this out on you. She's going to blame you for everything. I'm not trying to scare you, I know my sister, she'll go into Chuck protection mode and her brain won't be thinking right."
Sarah takes a deep breath and smiles, "I get it, she's going to act exactly like I would, if I thought someone was trying to harm you. Chuck is there any chance she would get physical?"
Chuck takes in a deep breath and blows it out. He leans forward and kisses her bare knee. "I would love to say no, but I've never seen her this riled up. On the off chance she does, protect yourself. Please try not to hurt her, but you don't have to be a punching bag on my account."
Chuck sits back and rubs his eyes, "Hon, I'm really spent, can we get ready for bed, cuddle on the couch and watch a movie?"
Sarah taps her chin, "Hmmmm, cuddle on the couch with my gorgeous husband wearing skimpy clothes. Okay, but no promises on seeing the end of the movie." She climbs into his lap and kisses him.
Chuck kisses her back, "You weren't joking when you said you want to make up for two years."
Sarah shakes her head, "Nuh uh, nary a joke in sight. What do you want to watch?"
Chuck thinks, "Well you told me you watched all the Star Wars movies. How about something light, happy? Have you seen Hook?"
Sarah shakes her head, "You said something light, that sounds like a horror movie."
Chuck laughs as he stands with Sarah in his arms, "Nope, it's the story of a man who discovers that his family is more important than work. The best part is he learns how to play again. It stars one of the brightest stars to ever shine, Robin Williams. Of course, the whole premise is ridiculous. Who would believe that a grown adult would forget how to play and make work more important than anything else?"
Sarah pulls his head down to kiss him, "Keep talking wise guy and you may wind up waiting another two years."
Chuck laughs as he stands her up in the bedroom, "Yeah, like you could wait two years."
Sarah stands on her tiptoes, "I'm sorry Hon, did I say two years? I meant two minutes."
She kisses him. "Is there something special you'd like me to wear to the movies?"
Chuck smiles, "Well do you still have that little purple number you wore that one time? I never got to tear that off you."
Sarah smiles as she walks to the dresser, "As a matter of fact, You're not the only romantic in the family. I saved it, and my stuff was delivered yesterday." She holds it up, "Is this the one you mean?"
Chuck sucks in a deep breath, "Oh Yeah!, That's the one."
Sarah walks over and gently rubs the fabric against his cheek, "Did you want me to put it on, or should I save time and just throw it on the floor?"
Chuck's eyes are wide, "I want to watch you put it on…slowly."
Sarah slowly pulls her shirt over her head. She could swear she sees Chuck drooling. In a teasing voice, "But Baby, if I do it slowly it might get too late to watch the movie."
Chuck shakes his head, "uh, uh not too late."
Sarah smiles pleased that she has his undivided attention as she unzips her skirt and slides it down over her hips to let it puddle on the floor. "Is this slow enough Husband?"
Chuck licks his lips and nods. Sarah reaches behind her back and unhooks her bra. She lets it fall from her hands to the floor. Chuck groans. Sarah is loving his reaction to her seduction. She points to her panties, in a whisper she asks, "These too?"
Chuck nods repeatedly. Sarah pushes the slight garment down and steps away from the clothes on the floor. She picks up the negligee that she placed on the bed, "Sweetheart, should I put the bottoms on first?"
Chuck is breathing hard, "uh huh."
Sarah holds the purple panties open and steps in one foot at a time. Then slowly raises them up to finally get them on with a wiggle. "Is this okay Chuck?"
Chuck groans.
Sarah smiles, "Should I put the top on now?" Chuck nods.
Sarah slips the top over her head and adjusts it to fit her breasts correctly, then smooths out the hanging fabric. "Is this what you wanted me to wear Sweetheart?" Chuck nods. speechless. Sarah steps over to stand in front of him, "Baby, have you been having dreams of me wearing this, for you?" Chuck nods. Sarah strokes his cheek, "I'm sorry I kept you waiting. Would like me to help you put on your pajamas?"
Chuck nods. Sarah unbuckles his belt and gently pulls it out of the loops. She lowers the zipper and opens the button. Falling to her knees she pulls his pants and underwear to the floor. She acts surprised, "Oh my goodness, Sweetheart, you seem very excited."
Chuck puts his hand on the back of Sarah's head. She looks up, "But Baby, I thought you wanted to watch the movie."
Chuck groans, "What movie?"
Chuck wakes up with a smile on his face. Sarah is resting on his chest, her arm and leg thrown over him. As if she senses that he's awake she starts to writhe against him pulling herself tighter to him. She moans, "Baby, you better get out of here before my husband comes home."
Chuck laughs quietly to himself. In a gruff voice and a Russian accent, "NYET, I go novhere, you are mine now. I vill keel him."
Sarah laughs, "Oh no what have I done? I love my husband if you kill him, who'll handle my baggage."
Chuck laughs, "Eet is too late. The time for regrets has passed. You mine, purple flower shall forever belongs to me. So swears Boris, the dangerous Russian espionage agent. Besides, your vorthless husband has run off vith mine sister, Natasha. She also is a dangerous Russian espionage agent. You see it runs in de family. It all started vith our great, great, grandfather on mine mother's side."
Sarah interrupts him, "Boris you have a choice, you can tell me your story, or you can wash me in the shower."
Chuck continues, "Yes, our great, great, grandfather, he vas the very first Dangerous Russian espionage…"
Sarah interrupts him again, "I love you husband, but if you don't get in that shower with me right now, I may have to go alone."
Chuck jumps out of the bed and strikes a dramatic pose, "Nyet, Boris does not allow it, come my purple flower, ve shall vash."
Sarah laughs and stretches her hand out to allow Chuck to help her up. When he reaches out to take it, she grabs his hand and pulls him on top of her. "I changed my mind. I need to be much dirtier."
After a much shorter shower than anticipated, and a quick breakfast Chuck and Sarah head down to the office. Sitting behind his desk he pushes the button on the intercom, "Good morning Mrs. Sawyer."
She responds immediately, "May I come in Boss?"
Chuck is clearly in a good mood, "Mrs. Sawyer, you've been chosen for Carmichael Industries, come on down."
Mrs. Sawyer walks in, "Ms. Walker, good morning, I see that the Boss is in good spirits, should I thank you?"
Sarah fakes confusion, "Why Mrs. S., whatever do you mean?"
Mrs. Sawyer shrugs, "I figured you made him a healthy breakfast, gave him lots of energy."
Sarah nods, "Oh yes, I see what you mean. Yes, he did eat his fill this morning, nothing wasted."
Chuck looks up and shakes his head, "I'm doomed." The ladies laugh.
Chuck gives them their moment, "So tell me Mrs. S, any chance you came in with something work related?"
"Yes Sir, Mr. Casey and Mr. Grimes wanted to be notified as soon as you both come in, they're on their way now. They asked me to be here. Before they get here, I want to tell you both how much I love my gifts. They are absolutely beautiful in my home. Thank you again."
Chuck nods, "I'm glad. Sarah was worried you wouldn't be able to get the cheese and the salami into that glass case together, but I knew you would figure it out." The ladies are laughing when Casey and Morgan walk in.
Casey slaps Morgan's shoulder, "See Grimes, I told you you're funny looking. All you have to do is walk in the room and people start laughing."
Morgan turns and smirks at Casey, "Laugh all you want now Dad. I'll be the one laughing when Little John grows up and looks like me." Casey grunts.
The room is filled with laughter, Chuck jumps in, "So what's up guys?"
Casey turns to Mrs. Sawyer, "Mrs. S., Buzzsaw has been cleared of all wrongdoing. He's in the clear and flying his jet home as we speak. He assured me he'll give you a call as soon as he lands."
Mrs. Sawyer hugs Casey. He frowns, "Oh thank you Mr. Casey. Can I tell Mrs. Rabb that her son is okay too?"
Casey shakes his head, "I'm afraid not. It's best if you avoid contact with Mrs. Rabb, and that's all I can say on the matter. Thank you for joining us, I wanted to give you the good news myself. Feel free to return to your desk. We'll let you know if there are any further developments."
Mrs. Sawyer looks at Chuck, she's obviously sad, "It's okay Mrs. S, Sarah will come out and speak with you shortly." Mrs. Sawyer leaves the room and Casey closes the door.
Casey points at the buttons on Chuck's desk. Chuck turns on the security measures.
Casey pulls a chair from the other side of the room and puts it in front of Chuck's desk, "It's about time we have a partners meeting." He sits down and Morgan and Sarah do the same.
He turns his head to look right at Morgan, "Beckman and the President have cleared you to be read in. Anything you hear in this room will remain in this room. If I even suspect that you told Alex anything that might put her in danger…" He raises his hand and closes his fist as if crushing something, then growls.
Morgan's eyes go wide, "Dad, you have to know, I would never do that."
Casey grunts, "I believe you, but remember I'm watching you."
Casey sits back and puts an unlit cigar in his mouth. "Rabb has been assigned to an isolated outpost, the only ones he can blab to will be the polar bears. I hope he tries to whisper in one's ear. His mother didn't know anything more than the rumor. She's been cautioned that she has classified information. Her phones are tapped, her internet too. If she makes a wrong move, Rabb will have company. She'll be under observation for an undetermined period. Beckman was livid. She wanted Rabb shot. Believe it or not Frank talked her down."
Morgan looks at Chuck, "Am I supposed to know what Dad is talking about? And who the hell is Frank?"
Chuck takes a deep breath, "When Casey and I disappeared last week we were on a special mission for the President, that's Frank."
Morgan is shocked, "Holy crap, you guys are on a first name basis with the President?"
Chuck nods, "Look Pal, I'm not going to tell you everything. I see no need to put you in danger. What you need to know is that where we went is classified. You know that Sarah was there too, that tells you the Agency was involved. She told you that. Rabb was one of the people that knew where we were. He leaked a rumor to his mother. It got back to Mrs. Sawyer, who then figured out where we were. Morgan, at that point all hell broke loose. Beckman and the President got involved. You're caught up now, any questions?"
Morgan is sitting with his mouth open. When Chuck finishes, he closes his mouth and asks, "Is Frank cool? You said he gave you a ride home, was it in that armored limo?"
Chuck, Sarah, and Casey laugh their heads off. Chuck shakes his head, "I love you, Buddy. No, he gave us a ride home on Air Force one."
Morgan jumps up, "No shit?" He looks at Chuck and Sarah, "Did you guys…?" Chuck looks down at his desk and Sarah gets all red in the face. "… You did. Wow! And I thought Uhura was hot stuff." Sarah and Chuck start laughing insanely. Casey stares at them like they're all crazy. Morgan joins in and the laughter get raucous.
Casey chomps down on his cigar, and waves his hands in the air, "All right enough nonsense. New Bartowski did you talk to your friend?"
Sarah nods, still laughing, "I did. She got fired."
Chuck looks shocked, "What?"
Morgan sits back down, "Okay, who are we talking about now?"
Sarah smiles, "Your ex."
Morgan looks confused, "Anna Wu, got fired. Why would we care. Where is she?" Chuck shakes his head.
Casey looks at Sarah, "What do you mean his ex?"
Chuck looks at Casey, "Oh you don't know? Wow, that's so cool, one more thing you guys share."
Casey pulls the cigar out of his mouth and stares at Morgan, "Grimes, what's the hell is he talking about?"
Morgan shrugs, "No big thing Dad, they must be talking about Carina. We had a little fling is all. Alex knows about it."
Casey turns his face to the ceiling, raises his arms and shakes his fists. "AAAAARRRRGGGHHH! I hate you, you little Elf! If you weren't my grandsons' father, I would crush you into powder!"
Morgan is clearly upset, "What? What did I do?"
Sarah and Chuck are laughing hysterically. Chuck stops laughing long enough to say, "Oh this is such sweet payback. Morgan don't worry Buddy. You did the same thing Casey did… Carina." Sarah and Chuck are laughing so hard they can hardly breath.
Morgan looks at Casey, "Dad, you mean you… and me… I mean… we…?"
Casey looks at Morgan, "Shut up numbnuts. If a word of this ever leaves this room, you'll wish you were stationed with Rabb." Chuck and Sarah are laughing even harder, tears are rolling down their cheeks. Morgan is trying to turtle into his shirt.
Chuck starts to calm down, "It's a good thing the security protocols are on, or Mrs. S. would be freaking out."
Casey is clearly pissed, "Okay kiddies, fun time is over. What are we doing with her?"
Chuck is working to catch his breath, "To be honest I don't want her anywhere near CI, especially with this history. Sarah, tell us the whole story, before we decide."
Sarah calms herself down, "It would seem that she, once again, improvised. She blew up a warehouse with six dealers inside. She wasn't specific but I'm guessing her bosses wanted those dealers so they could work their way up the food chain. Again, I'm guessing that they pulled her clearance and blacklisted her from all government work."
Chuck nods, "Another reason we don't need her here, she could hurt our pending contracts. Morgan, your thoughts?"
Morgan shakes his head, "Yeah, I'm pretty sure Alex wouldn't like it if she were working here."
Chuck looks at Casey, "John?"
Casey growls, "Putting all this personal crap aside, she's a pain in the ass. I don't trust her any further than numbnuts here could throw her."
Morgan is upset, "Dad, come on, how was I supposed to know?"
Casey stares at Morgan, "Call me Dad again, I dare you." Morgan slumps into his chair.
Chuck waves his hands, "Okay, let's all calm down. John, Morgan wasn't any more aware than you were. As you said, putting the personal issues aside, it doesn't seem like a good idea to hire her. However, we haven't heard from Sarah yet. She does have a vested interest here."
Sarah takes a deep breath, "You're all correct with what you say, but she was my partner. I don't like that she almost got us killed, more than once. On the other hand, she is good when she stays focused, and she is one hell of a fighter." Sarah shakes her head, "She's a liar, a manipulator, and willing to do anything to further her personal goals. Look, even if I wanted to have her here, I'm still outvoted 3 to 1."
Chuck smiles, "I forgot. This is your first partners meeting. We don't vote, we talk. Your voice carries weight in this room. No more and no less than anyone else's. Tell us why you think we should hire her. Will she be loyal to me, to you, to the company?"
Sarah shrugs, "Guys, she's my friend. When we were separated, I would call her. She would listen to me cry. Chuck, she would tell me to call you. She never bad mouthed you. I couldn't talk to Zondra. I knew she would rip you to shreds. Carina just listened to me cry. I guess that's loyalty. Don't forget she did stand with us against Decker. Okay, she's not like us, but until recently neither was I. You all pitched in, supported me, taught me how to be family. Maybe we could do the same for her."
Chuck smiles at Sarah, "I want to go on record. I'm proud of my wife. She's loyal, speaks her mind and shares her feelings, even when it's hard. You're right Sarah, those are points to be considered. I suggest we take some time to think this through." They all nod. "Okay, next issue, Ryker."
Casey shakes his head, "This'll be quick, nada."
Chuck nods, "I figured as much. I'm working up a little program that may help us find him. Sarah and I will be working on that once we're done in here. Morgan, how are those contracts coming? We've got big money riding on that."
Morgan holds his hands up, "Sorry to disappoint you pal, still no movement, Da…,"
Casey growls, "Casey says we're still on hold."
The intercom buzzes, "Yes Mrs. Sawyer."
Mrs. Sawyer seems nervous, "Boss there's a guy on the phone, says he's the President."
Chuck and Casey immediately sit up, "I'll take the call, thank you Mrs. S."
Chuck picks up the phone, "Hello, who am I speaking to?"
The voice on the other end sounds jovial, "How quickly they forget. Hi Chuck, it's me, Frank."
Chuck smiles, "Mr. President, how are you sir?" Morgan's eyebrows raise in surprise.
The President sounds surprised, "Chuck, why so formal?"
Chuck looks at Sarah, "Well sir, I'm in my office with the rest of the team."
Frank laughs, "Well, put me on speaker. Let me say hi."
Chuck pushes the button to put the call on speaker and hangs up the handset. "You're on speaker Mr. President. Sarah, Casey, and Morgan Grimes are with me."
"Chuck how many times do I have to tell you, the name is Frank. Hi everyone, Joyce said to tell you all hi, she misses you already. Sarah, she wants to know why she hasn't heard from you."
Sarah is apologetic, "I'm sorry Frank, but we've been awfully busy since we got back. I guess the wedding wasn't at the top of the list. How are you and Joyce doing?"
Frank whistles, "You'd better not let Joyce hear you say that about the wedding. Give her a call, just to say hi. We're doing fine. Master Chief seems to think I'm a Butterball, he's trying to fatten me up for thanksgiving. I can't say no. Manthat guy can cook."
Frank quickly switches to a new topic, "Morgan Grimes, I've heard so much about you can't wait to meet you in person."
Morgan is clearly shaken, "Me, Mr. President?"
"Yes, Morgan you, I hear you're the man to help me clean up my intelligence organizations. What are you waiting for?"
Morgan starts to squirm in his seat, "Well Mr. President, Dad, I mean Casey says we need some paperwork from your people before we can finalize the contracts."
The President sighs, "Chuck, could you please tell your friend that my name is Frank, some people think everything a politician says is a lie. No lie Morgan, my name is Frank."
Casey is sitting very stiffly, "It's good hear your voice Sir."
The president blows out a puff of air, "I give up, call me whatever you want. Look first off, I want to apologize for the fuss one of my sailors caused you. Diane wanted to have him shot at dawn. But I knew Chuck wouldn't like that. I had him put in a place, where he can't hurt you folks, with a strong warning. She did clear Sawyer, he had nothing to do with the leak. John, what paperwork is Morgan referring to?"
Casey looks at Chuck and crosses his fingers. "Well Frank, in order to do what you want of us, I need to be retired and Chuck needs to be demilitarized. A conflation like that could make you look like you're trying to militarize the intelligence community."
The line is quiet, "Good point John. Thanks for looking out for me. I'll get Diane on that ASAP.
Now let me get to the real purpose of this call. General Casey, I've put you in for the Medal of Honor, for your service in the Sandbox. You're going to be recognized for all the lives you've saved over the years. The paperwork is being fast tracked, should be good to go in a month or two."
Morgan exclaims, "Dad, you're a hero. I'm so proud of you." Casey grunts.
Frank hears that and jumps in, "Morgan, you're surrounded by heroes in that room. I've been told you're one yourself. Your Father-in-Law grunted some very nice things about you. Chuck and Sarah, I wish I could recognize you as well. I know you understand why I can't."
Casey is choked up when he speaks, "Thank you for your recognition, Mr. President. I'm honored. But damn it Frank did you have to tell him I said nice things about him? Now I'll never wipe that smile off his face." Everyone laughs, including Casey.
The President is still laughing, "Boy, I really miss you folks. We haven't laughed that hard in years. Now let me finish up. I've got people waiting for me. The ceremony will be public, at the White house. You'll invite your friends and family. When the ceremony is concluded, the press will be asked to leave and there will be a private reception, at which time I'll marry Chuck and Sarah."
Sarah is very excited, "Frank, that's genius, how can we ever thank you?"
They could hear the pride in the President's voice, "Yes, it is pretty genius, it was all Joyce's idea. You can give her that call and thank her yourself. Maybe she'll start bugging you and let me get back to running the country. Okay folks have to go, be good, we miss you." The call ends.
The office is quiet. Morgan is the first to speak, "The President knows my name." He jumps up and throws his arms around Casey. Casey growls. "Shut up Dad. I'm so damned proud of you. Alex will be too."
Chuck and Sarah stare at Morgan in disbelief. Casey looks Morgan dead in the eye, "Did you just tell me to shut up?" Morgan nods, terrified. "Well Son, it's about time you grew some balls."
The office erupts in laughter. Chuck and Sarah get up and hug each other. Sarah is overjoyed, "Finally some good news." Morgan joins them in their hug.
Chuck looks over at Casey, "General get in here, you're finally going to be recognized for your service. You also get to walk Sarah down the aisle." Casey grunts and reluctantly joins the group hug.
Chuck kisses Sarah, "People, we all have stuff to do. Sarah, would you mind giving Mrs. S. some attention? Then I'll need you back in here so we can finish that work." Sarah nods and walks out of the room.
"Casey, I'd like to know more about Carina's situation, before I decide. Any chance you have some DEA connections?" Casey nods, "I may know one or two people. I'll see what I can find out." Casey walks out.
"Morgan, I have a feeling those contracts will be moving along. How are you doing with the one name I gave you?"
Morgan sighs, "Chuck are you sure about this? The whole crew is working on it. It's gonna take some work, there are huge gaps…"
Chuck puts his arm around his friend's shoulders, "We knew that, stay on it. By the way, you can tell Alex who you spoke to today, and why. I'm sure she'll be proud of her dad. Speaking of proud, I'm glad you finally stood up to Casey, he's been waiting for that. Now go protect the country." He opens the door and Morgan leaves.
When Chuck looks through the open door, Sarah is sitting next to Mrs. Sawyer's desk, holding her hand, "I'm sure it will all work out okay."
Chuck walks in to join them, "That man on the phone," She looks up at Chuck, he nods, "That was the President." Mrs. Sawyer's mouth falls open.
Sarah continues, "He assured us that Thomas is fine, and not in any trouble. Mrs. Rabb will be okay, her son merely got reassigned. Are you okay now?"
Mrs. Sawyer nods, "Thank you Ms. Walker for taking the time. I'll be okay."
Sarah gets up, "Mr. Bartowski and I have some work to do, but if you need us, we're available."
Sarah walks into Chuck's office. Chuck smiles at Mrs. Sawyer, "Mrs. S., we're fine. In the future, if anyone outside this office discusses any of us, or company business with you. You'll let us know right away, won't you?"
Mrs. Sawyer nods, "Yes sir, you have my word. You know I would never want to hurt you."
Chuck smiles, "Of course I know that. Now I have work to do. Like Sarah said, we're here if you need us." Chuck walks into his office and closes the door.
As soon as the door closes Sarah jumps into his arms and wraps her legs around his waist, her short skirt disappearing. She shows a display of emotion that shocks Chuck. She kisses his face all over, and whispers in his ear, "I love my husband, I love, love, love my husband."
In his Russian accent Chuck responds, "Vhy you tell this to Boris?"
Sarah pulls her head back, "Oh shut up and kiss me." She kisses him hard, Chuck responds.
While kissing her he carries her over to his desk and sits in his chair. Sarah continues to kiss his face, "Mr. Bartowski, There's something I have to tell you." She continues to plant small kisses. "The best thing that ever happened to me was the day I met you." She plants more kisses on his throat. "The second-best thing that ever happened to me was the day you married me. Last night wasn't bad either." Chuck laughs. She kisses his mouth long and hard. "Soon both of those things will be eclipsed when you make me a mommy." She squeals, "We're getting married in the White House… by the President…holy shit!"
Chuck laughs, "I could be wrong Sarah, but you seem happy. You do realize this brings you one step closer to looking like the Goodyear Blimp."
Sarah kisses him, "And that will be the next best thing to ever happen to me, to us. Chuck…" she looks into his eyes, … "Thank you for loving me."
Chuck smiles, "Sarah, loving you is the best thing that's ever happened to me. You do realize, of course, this puts a deadline on finding Ryker. We can't get married until your mom and Molly can be there."
The door flies open, Mrs. Sawyer is screaming, "Mrs. Grimes, you can't just barge in there. They're in conference."
Alex looks at Sarah in Chuck's lap, "Yeah I can see they're in conference."
Chuck laughs, "It's okay Mrs. Sawyer. What's up Alex?" Mrs. Sawyer leaves and closes the door behind her.
Alex crosses the room and falls into the chair in front of Chuck's desk. She folds her arms across her chest. "What's up Alex? What's up is that you, and my husband, had a conversation with the President of the United States. Where was I? I was cleaning throw up off my new blouse. By the way Chuck, thank you for my new blouse. And what the hell is the deal on this cleaning crew thing? What are you trying to say?"
Chuck looks shocked, "I thought it would be obvious. I don't want my nephews growing up in a pig pen." Alex looks shocked. Sarah and Chuck laugh. Chuck shakes his head, "Alex, you're working full time, raising the twins, and Morgan. I wanted to give you a break, that's all."
Alex grumps, "Fine, thank you. But that doesn't let you off the hook. You talked to the President, without me."
Sarah climbs off Chuck's lap, walks over, and bends to hug Alex, "Aw, I'm sorry Sis, we didn't know he was going to call. Plus, your dad made it very clear he doesn't want you involved in that end of the business. Look at the bright side. In a very short time, you'll be eating dinner with him, at the White House. Please don't be angry, I'm going to need your help to plan the wedding with the First Lady. I have to call her this afternoon. Would you like to join us?"
Alex nods her head vehemently, "Can I really?"
Sarah nods, "Of course, wouldn't think of doing it without you. I'll give you a shout when I'm ready to call her."
Chuck looks at Alex, "Look Alex, there's a very easy fix for this. Have Morgan transfer half his shares to your name, then you're a partner and will be in every meeting. Then comes the fun part, planning your husband's funeral when your dad finds out that Morgan got you involved. See? Easy peasy."
Alex sticks her tongue out and throws a Bronx cheer at Chuck, "Yeah, you're a regular riot Bartowski." (My apologies to Ralph Kramden)
Sarah laughs, "Lt. Uhura, is that anyway to address our CEO?" Chuck and Alex laugh.
Sarah stands up, "Alex, you are way more involved in the business than I am. Trust me, since I've been here, Chuck has never done anything to sideline you. That's between you and your father. Did Morgan tell you everything that happened in here?"
Alex is confused, "Like what? Something more important than the President?"
Chuck nods, "Oh hell yeah! Morgan told Casey to shut up and lived."
Alex stares at Chuck, "Morgan who?" Chuck and Sarah crack up, "My Morgan? Morgan Grimes? Morgan, told my father to shut up?" Chuck and Sarah nod, Sarah adds, "Yep, right after he hugged him."
Alex fans herself, "Morgan Grimes, hugged John Casey, and told him to shut up." Sarah nods. "It seems to be getting very warm in here. Um I'll be in Morgan's office, but um… we'll be in conference." Alex runs out the door, leaving Chuck and Sarah laughing their brains out.
When they finally calm down, Sarah gets in the chair facing Chuck, "Okay Hon, let's do this."
Chuck opens his laptop and scrolls through his notes. "Let's see. You just described the house to me, anything you want to add?" Sarah shakes her head. "Okay, then describe the neighborhood. Do you remember the address?"
Sarah sits back and closes her eyes, "The house was near the river, the Danube. In an area called Rózsadomb it's part of the 2nd district of Budapest, in the Buda Hills. It's one of the most prestigious areas in Hungary. There was a bridge that crossed the river down the street, the Margit hid. I didn't have an exact address, Ryker guided me on comms. I was a few blocks from the riverfront. Ryker described the building I was looking for. It was old, historic. I walked through the double doors into a large foyer, and up the stairs I mentioned yesterday. That's it, that's what I remember."
Chuck gives Sarah a big smile, "Great work honey, very helpful. Now sit back and relax. I'm going to do a little research, then I'll need your help again." Chuck works feverishly at his keyboard typing in information, then sitting back to look at the screen. He repeats the process a few times. Sarah is relaxed and startles when the printer starts to operate and spit out papers.
Chuck walks over to take her hand, "A couple more minutes Hon. Then if you like, you can go to your office and call Joyce." Sarah smiles and nods. The printer stops and Chuck grabs a stack of paper from the tray and spreads them out on his desk. There are over a dozen. "Sarah, would you mind helping me out Hon?" Sarah stands up and looks at the papers spread out in front of her. She sucks in a deep breath and starts to point. "That's them." She points to picture after picture of portraits and statues. She looks at Chuck, "Baby how did you…?"
Chuck smiles and kisses her, "How did we? You gave me great information. The internet did the rest." He picks up three of the pictures she pointed to. "The paintings are by Vilmos Aba-Novák, a famous Hungarian artist. He lived; from 1894 to 1941." He picks up more of the printouts that Sarah pointed to, "These statutes are by Béni Ferenczy. He was a Hungarian Sculptor 1890 to 1967. I'm guessing there may have been more than the ones you saw. He did a whole series in various mediums."
Sarah stares at Chuck in amazement, she runs her hand along the side of his head, "My God, Baby how do you carry all of that information in that beautiful head?"
Chuck laughs, "No Sweetheart, I don't. I used the internet. Based on the information you gave me I found these possibilities. You showed me which were the right ones. It's no different than the Agency database, but with more pictures."
Sarah nods, "Aha, and tell me mister smarty pants. Who took all that sketchy information I gave him and made it into something useful? I'm married to a genius. You won't convince me otherwise."
Chuck kisses her, "Sarah, I've made it very clear. I never contradict my wife."
Sarah pats his cheek, "See, a genius. So, tell me are these pictures to decorate our new house?"
Chuck laughs, "No Sweetheart, I'm hoping that when you cheated Ryker out of his fortune, he went back to that house to get what he could. If he did, I may be able to track him down. I needed you to pick out the correct pictures so I could use the info. It's a long shot, but you did make him sound like a greedy son of a bitch, so let's hope."
Chuck walks over to sit behind his desk, "Hon this next part will require me to concentrate. I have to tie all of this info together, then create an algorithm. It's fascinating stuff. I'd be happy to teach you."
Sarah's eyes roll up into her head. She shakes her head and smiles, "Baby I would love to, but I have to call Joyce. I want to invite Alex to join me, do you think their "conference" is over"?
Chuck leans back, "Well let's see Alex left here about ninety minutes ago. Since Morgan is involved… hmmmm, I'm going to guess their conference was over eighty minutes ago."
Sarah laughs, "Very funny. I'll be in my office if you need me." Sarah leaves.
Chuck puts his head down and does what he knows best, coding. He smiles at his own handiwork, loving the elegance of the data dance he's created. He's deep into the zone when the intercom buzzes. "Dammit." Yes Mrs. Sawyer."
Mrs. Sawyer is apologetic, "Sorry to bother you, Boss. But Mr. Casey said it's important. He said that you would want to know right away. He's on his way up."
Chuck sighs, "Okay thank you Mrs. S, give me ten minutes then send him in.
A/N Hey I'm sorry about what happened to Hammer. He should know better than to run his mouth. The good news is that a lawyer named Mac got involved. She was able to convince Beckman that it was a momentary indiscretion. Rabb was allowed to remain in the Navy; However, he was no longer allowed to fly. Since his access to classified info was now restricted, he was forced to change his job. He went back to school and became a lawyer. As luck would have it, he wound up stationed with the very attorney that stood up for him.
Oh, I'll bet you're pissed right now. I know I am. Interrupting Chuck's programming, sheesh. It's a good thing we only have to wait ten minutes to find out what's so important.
