Disclaimer: Last chapter was certainly an emotional one, wasn't it. Well let's hope this part of the story can lift Chase's spirits in the way I hope it does. Judging by the title, I think you can tell what conversation from the movie is going to be here.

Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.

Paw Patrol X: What Makes A Hero

Part Five: To Be A Hero

Chase was still looking in horror at what he saw in Liberty's home. The thing that caused this was right at the end of it. It was the very same car that was owned by the humans who abandoned him sixteen years ago. Seeing it made that fateful day flashback to when he was sitting on his previous owner's lap. It was a woman who was sitting in the passenger's seat, wearing a long red dress. And the male driving it was someone in a suit with glasses. Both of them looked rather cold, especially when looking at Chase, who was confused and scared beyond belief.

When the flashback ended, Chase started walking towards the car, even stating the names of his former owners. "Max... Kallan..." The look of heartbreak, confusion, and anger in his eyes said it all. He had endless questions about that day. Why was he abandoned? What would've happened if they hadn't? Did they ever care about him? That last one made the tears start forming in his eyes again. He tried to hold them back as he kept moving forward, but his emotions were still clear.

Wave and Liberty were still looking for Chase, who didn't react to their voices from nearby.

"Chase!"

"Chase!?"

The two of them were near the alleyway themselves, and when they saw Chase walking towards Liberty's car, they also caught onto the tear in his eye. Liberty wasn't the best at social cues, but being the observant pup she was, she was able to tell when someone was close to crying. She was about to walk over and help, but Wave held her back and nodded her head no. She could tell just by looking at Chase that he needed to let out some serious emotions.

This was further evident when Chase reached the car. He placed his paws on the hood and slammed it as hard as he could. Good thing the engine was broken. Liberty was scared, and Wave quickly noticed and started rubbing her paw to help her feel safe. This definitely helped, but the fear she felt was still there. It was especially prominent when Chase started shouting. "Why!? Why did you abandon me!?" Then, he raised his fist. "Why were you always so cold to me!?" Then, Chase punched the car hood as hard as he could, completely destroying it.

Chase looked at the damaged car, which perfectly reflected how he felt about being abandoned all those years ago. Just a big hole that he couldn't fill no matter how hard he tried. A hole he tried to fill by telling himself he was worth it. But the question he had ever since that day kept him from doing so. It's what fueled his self worth issues, and while he thought he fixed them with therapy... hearing him shout that exact question would tell someone that his problems weren't over.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU WANT ME!?"

Those last five words rang true to Liberty. She had a similar feeling from Chase's cry, to the feelings she had over not wanting to scare people off. The same fear that made her wonder if anyone would ever want her around after getting to know her. While Wave managed to help her overcome that somewhat, she still had a long ways to go to do so completely, and to learn all there was to friendship and family. And hearing Chase cry out showed that he wasn't able to just move on from his trauma because he got what he wanted. It always haunted him.

After crying out, the tears started flowing down Chase's face, causing him to fall to his knees and start bawling. He couldn't take it anymore. Everything he'd felt since that day was now coming out in the most emotionally distraught way imaginable. His mixture of negative emotions were amplified by just how many tears streamed down his face. All he could do was look at the car he punched, wishing he could've done that sooner. But he also couldn't help wondering... why his former owners left him.

Liberty had an idea, looking up at Wave and speaking quietly about it to see if she should do it. "I think I can help him Wave." Wave listened as Liberty explained why. "Before Adventure City. Before you helped me realize how much they cared me. I've felt what Chase feels." Liberty tried to contain herself regarding her own past, which she hoped she would be ready to talk about. "I know how the unwanted feel Wave. No one deserves to feel like no one wants them."

Wave loved this idea, knowing that Liberty emphasizing with Chase as much as she did would help her know what to say. But she still wanted to be there in case she needed help. "I'll be right next to you just in case. If you need my help, just let me know." Liberty smiled and nodded, walking over to Chase with Liberty to help him out.

Chase was still crying, but he was able to sense Wave and Liberty's presence. Wave spoke first so they wouldn't have to. "Chase. You're not alone."

"I might as well be." Chase responded, unable to grasp his own worth as he spoke. "I'm worthless."

Liberty tugged Wave's fur and nodded to her to show that she wanted to get started. She went over to the wall to let Liberty and Chase talk alone. During this, Liberty walked up to Chase, tugging his fur to get his attention. When he looked at her, she gave an empathetic expression, and encouraged him to sit down with her. When they sat together, Chase was still crying, sniffling a bit as he wiped the tears from his eyes. Liberty wasn't used to doing stuff like this, so she figured it was best to just get to the point. "I know how it feels to think you're... unwanted."

Chase looked at Liberty, thinking for a moment before he commented on that. "I should've guessed. You're a stray after all."

"It's more than that." Liberty responded, and then flashbacks began to her being left at an orphanage as a newborn. "I spent the first ten years of my life in an orphanage in a town that wasn't very kind." The owner, a cold looking female Basenji dog, picked her up and took her inside. "I don't even know who my parents are." The next flashback showed Liberty struggling to make friends with the other kids due to how different she was. "I never had friends, or a family who loved me. No one understood me. And that caused me to be an outcast."

Multiple sets of flashbacks showed Liberty's quirks affecting her social skills, starting with her inability to speak at age three, which caused the kids to look in confusion... "I wasn't able to talk until I was four..." and then she was shown playing with one of her ears, only to get made fun of by one of the other kids, which made her stop. "I was always playing with stuff in my paws..." And then another time, she was being picked on by a Pomeranian who was taking a block from her. "and I was always picked on."

The Pomeranian laughed at Liberty along with her friends, taking the block away and causing her to start shouting in retaliation. The fear in her eyes made it evident that she wasn't enjoying it. "SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP!"

"HEY!" a loud shout was heard, and Liberty ended up getting hit on the back of the head with a shoe, which caused her to yelp and run away. It was then revealed that the Basenji who owned the orphanage was walking over to her and started shouting at her. "I can't watch my show with you yelling your head off and being your weirdo self! This is why no one wants to adopt your bratty butt!" All Liberty could do in response to the Basenji's shouting was cry. But that didn't stop her.

The last one was one that Liberty looked at directly while still talking to Chase about her past. "By the time I was ten, I couldn't take it anymore. So I ran off as fast as I could, and didn't look back." That flashback ended with Liberty escaping the town she lived in late at night. Chase, who was still crying, wiped another tear from his eye as Liberty finished telling her story. "A month later, I arrived in Adventure City. And I was so hurt by my time at that orphanage... that I couldn't see how much they cared until today."

Wave had to contain herself from hugging Liberty then and there. This was hers and Chase's conversation. Chase then expressed sympathy for Liberty regarding her past. "I'm so sorry Liberty. You didn't deserve to endure that; no kid does!" Even though he was still emotional, Liberty could tell how genuine he was being. Chase also commended Liberty on being able to confess this to him after a day of knowing him. "It must have taken a lot to tell me all of that. Especially since we only met yesterday. I'm practically a stranger to you."

"A stranger who's on the rescue team I've idolized ever since I first heard about you on TV." Liberty revealed, addressing what that was, and it was a big moment for all of them. "I saw you all fight Miranda to protect Adventure Bay. You even took down a tank by yourself, and Wave took most of her limbs being broken to stop her! It was amazing!"

Chase laughed a bit, having to admit that Liberty was right about that. He then wondered why Liberty chose to tell it to him specifically. "You said you knew what it felt like to be unwanted. Is that why you're telling me of all Canines?"

"Yeah. I guess our stories aren't the exact same... but I think you can see how they're at least similar. And why I was always scared to make real connections until now." Chase nodded, and then placed a paw on Chase's. "I know you don't think you're a hero Chase. But I can tell you right now, that you're one of the best heroes this world has ever had."

Chase sighed, wishing he could believe that after everything he's done. "I do want to believe that. But the whole time I've been here, I've been almost nothing but scared."

"So? Everyone gets scared. It doesn't make you less of who you are." Liberty assured Chase, stating what she thought about him in that moment. "After hearing more about your adventures, I can't be convinced you weren't scared ever since you first joined the Paw Patrol. If I didn't think you were a hero, I wouldn't have that play set in my home."

Chase looked to where Liberty was pointing, seeing the playset and finding it quite charming. And then he realized what she was using the car for and instantly apologized. "Oh god, I'm so sorry! You were sleeping in this car, weren't you!"

"It's fine dude. I really don't care." Liberty responded assuredly, smiling as she continued telling Chase how much of a hero he was. "Knowing about all of your adventures, and hearing you at your most emotional now, helps me see that heroes get scared all the time. Who wouldn't in their paws? Everyone you know gets scared." Wave smiled, glad to see that Liberty knew her stuff. "Wave, Marshall, Skye," And Liberty laughed a bit at the last name she mentioned. "Heck; I bet even Ryder's gotten scared during the missions he was involved in."

Chase looked back on all of his adventures, laughing a bit at how long it took him to realize that. "Yeah. I guess he has."

Ryder heard Liberty talking as he came around the corner, seeing her, Wave, and Chase there as Liberty continuing what she had to say. "It's part of what makes us human. And even though he scared, he pushed through, and kept going, just like the rest of you. That's what makes you heroes. And I know Ryder's always seen a hero in you." Liberty smiled as she filled Chase with the last of the words she had to say to him. "He sees everything in you."

Chase started crying tears of joy with Wave then coming in and commending Liberty with her job by giving a thumbs up. Liberty was happy, and when Wave offered her and Chase a hug, they both accepted. That was when Ryder stepped in. He walked over to them with a smile as Wave embraced Liberty and Chase. When Chase noticed him, he let go of them and wiped the tears from his eyes. Ryder hugged him after kneeling down, and this time, he accepted, feeling much better after his talk with Liberty. "I'm... sorry I, went off like that."

"It's okay bud. I'm just glad you're okay." Ryder assured Chase, pulling him away as he hatched an idea on how to help him. "Actually, I got an idea on how to help while looking for you." Ryder then looked to Wave and Liberty to send them off. "Wave, Liberty, you can head off. I have to go somewhere alone with Chase."

"Not a problem Ryder." Wave assured Ryder, walking off with Liberty while congratulating her on how well she did. "You were amazing Liberty!"

"Hehe. Thanks. I guess I was." Liberty admitted bashfully, starting to believe even more that she was capable of long term friends.

Chase looked at Ryder, who assured him that everything would be okay. "Don't worry Chase. This is gonna do you a lot of good."

A few minutes later, Chase and Ryder were in front of the very part of Adventure City where the two of them met. He knew Chase would be shocked at first, but he also knew he would understand why once he told him about his reason for doing this. "You recognize this place?"

Chase did in fact recognize the place Ryder brought him to, and at first, he was stunned. After a couple seconds, he answered Ryder's question. "Yeah. This is where you found me." However, he failed to understand why. "Why did you bring me here?"

Ryder answered Chase's question by talking about the day they met. "I know this place reminds you of the worst time in your life. But there's more to it than that." Chase became confused with what Ryder said next. "It's also a great place." However, he understood more as he continued. "Full of highlights like Liberty, and our new HQ, and I know we'll find more." Ryder smiled as he then got to the highlight of his explanation. "I remember the first time I saw you." Chase and Ryder looked at the road and began flashing back to the day they met.

Chase's puppy self was shown wandering around Adventure City to the best of his ability. "You were a tiny little pup, all alone in the big city." Chase was struggling to get around everyone, just like in the flashback when he told Marshall about his past. The flashback stopped for a bit when the truck almost hit him, only to stop then and there. And Chase saw Ryder standing there, having gotten the truck to stop for him. Ryder then looked at Chase.

In the present, Chase contemplated why Ryder adopted him on that day. "I never figured out why you took me in. I didn't think anyone would want someone with MY issues in their life."

"Well I did, even after learning about them." Ryder assured Chase, and then the flashback continued as Chase looked up at Ryder. "What I saw was a brave, heroic pup." Ryder knelt down and offered to pick Chase up, despite how timid he was. "Even though you were too small to look after yourself, and you were up against all those scary things... you got back up and kept going."

Chase then jumped into Ryder's arms as Ryder finished explaining why he adopted Chase. "I wouldn't blame you if you thought I adopted you because I felt sorry for you. But the real reason I chose you, was because you were the bravest pup I'd ever seen." Ryder smiled while pulling Chase's Pup-Tag out from his pocket. "I know Adventure City has been tough for you. But I also know, that deep down..." And then, he showed Chase his Pup-Tag. "you were born to be a hero."

As soon as Chase touched his Pup-Tag, he was overwhelmed with joy, relief, and a reminder of who he was. He finally realized what Ryder had been trying to help him see ever since he took him in: He was worth it, and always has been. And because of that, he started to feel like he could actually... like himself. Love himself even, as much as Skye and Marshall did. He believed that everything he felt was real. And to prove this to Ryder, he gave a confident smile after putting his Pup-Tag on, which returned him his Pup-Suit. "Ready for action Ryder sir."

Back at Adventure City HQ, Wave was talking to Marshall as Liberty comforted Skye, both of whom were super worried about Chase, and assured Marshall that he was okay. "It'll be okay Marshall. I'm sure Ryder can do the finishing touches on convincing him to come back."

And just as Wave predicted, Ryder returned in the elevator, with Chase right beside him! Everyone else was there as well, and they were all ecstatic to see Chase back. "Chase!"

They all rushed over, and Wave was the one to bring Chase in for a hug that Skye and Marshall soon joined in on. The others joined in as well, except for Charm, despite being encouraged by Ryder to join in. "I don't do hugs."

Skye was the first to speak as she expressed how worried she was about Chase. "I'm so glad you're back Chase. Don't you ever go awol like that again, okay?"

"No need to tell ME twice." Chase assured Skye, kissing her before apologizing for his impulsive actions. "I'm sorry I worried you all. I won't ever run off like that again."

"We're just glad you're back." Marshall assured Chase, despite appreciating what he said there. "Does this mean you're okay to tackle Adventure City now?"

Chase looked at Wave, and then Liberty, and then Ryder, all of whom smiled, just like Skye and Marshall did when he looked at them. After looking at all five of them, along with the rest of their friends, he was confident that his answer to Marshall was the correct one. And he was more than happy to give it. "Yes. I'm done being scared of this place. And no matter how hard things get, I'm gonna be the hero I was born to be." Everyone was happy to hear that, barking and howling for Chase with Ryder smiling and crossing his arms as they all celebrated.

Mayor Humdinger was now in a super tall skyscraper with a big purple tophat, looking down upon Adventure City from super high up. He was also satisfied when he saw the Cloud Catcher suck up another cloud that was close to his tower. He simply smirked, not even paying attention to how it started overloading. Just then, Kendra came in through the elevator and called to him. "Mayor Humdinger!"

Mayor Humdinger groaned before addressing Kendra's presence. "What do you want, lead nerd?"

"The Cloud Catcher's precipometer has short-circuited and the barometric pressure has dropped below 87 kilopascals!" Kendra explained as she walked over to Humdinger. After he raised an eyebrow in confusion, she clarified what she meant. "We've gotta bring the cloud catcher down; it's gonna blow!"

"Hogwash!" Mayor Humdinger retorted, taking Kendra's device and throwing it over his shoulder. "You listen to your devices too much!"

The device broke on the ground, horrifying Kendra as she called him out on it. "What are you doing!?"

"Making a name for myself that the Paw Patrol won't ruin." Mayor Humdinger declared, but then, Kendra took out another device and started a press conference digitally for all to see.

After enough people joined, which happened pretty fast thanks to her reputation, she started explaining the problem to them, which also caught Humdinger's ire. "Thank you all for joining so quickly! Please listen! There's a free-floating meteorological weather containment system overhead and the anemometer readings are off the charts!"

"What!?"

After everyone expressed their confusion in sync, dramatic music started playing as Humdinger walked over to Kendra. "We're all in grave danger!"

Mayor Humdinger took Kendra's device and turned it off, throwing it to the side as he started ranting. Thankfully, this time, it didn't break. "The Paw Patrol have been upstaging me for twelve years now lead nerd! I'm not going to have it ruined by your nonsense!"

"My 'nonsense' is caring about the city, and everyone in it!" Kendra informed Mayor Humdinger, unable to stand just how obnoxious he was, especially now. "You have some arrogance if you think your name is more important than that! You won't even have it if the city falls!"

"I will if we rebuild!" Humdinger informed Kendra, grinning devilishly as he got ready to start expressing how much this meant to him.

As soon as Humdinger started walking away, Kendra told him how badly his plans will fail. "You won't have any respect if this city gets destroyed Humdinger. You'll get run out as soon as repairs get started!"

"I guess we'll find out." Humdinger replied, viewing that as a risk worth taking before he started singing the song that would express his love for being in charge: I'm The Mayor. "For as long as I can remember, the Paw Patrol has gotten in my way. Despite having my own city, I've been outclassed by them every day."

Humdinger then showed Kendra specific pictures of three moments he mentioned; the first being Wave winning a cake baking contest, the second one being Marshall winning a basketball game against him and his kitties, and the third one being at a festival in Adventure Bay called the Adventure Bay festival. "Whether it be baking, basketball, or festivals, I've always been outclassed." Humdinger then walked towards Kendra, causing her to walk away as she heard his song. "So I finally came to this city, so I could stop being placed laaaaaaaaaast!"

Humdinger stomped his foot as he got more and more agitated as he thought about the Paw Patrol while pacing around his room. "I left Foggybottom to be mayor here, and it's a spot that I won't share! So don't you dare tell me what to do, because there's no chance that I'd care! I'm finally at the rank I deserve, so my plans don't need a delayer!" Mayor Humdinger looked back at Kendra as he finished the first verse. "Because I only care about the fact that I'm the Mayor."

The Cloud Catcher was still messing up outside, and one of its pipes broke as it continued to overload. However, Humdinger continued singing, not hearing it over his own ego. "Ever since I was a little boy, my mother had always told me. That I was destined to do great things, one of many things she helped me see!" He looked out the window as he continued with his song. "And I'm not going to share this fame with some nerd in a beat up lab coat!" Kendra raised an eyebrow as Humdinger continued. "This is the spot that I deserve, for me, success is what life wroooooooooote!"

Humdinger continued singing as the Cloud Catcher continued to short circuit with Kendra getting her phone out to put the news on. "I already failed as a mayor once before, so this isn't a spot I'll share! I won't let the Paw Patrol tear me down, the most they'll get from me is a cruel stare! I've fought for this rank my entire life, so my plans don't need a delayer!" Humdinger then turned to Kendra, who used her device to have her phone hover above herself and Humdinger. "Because I only care about the fact that I'm the mayoooooooooor!"

Humdinger then noticed the phone, which showed the Cloud Catcher going crazy and beginning to spread intense storm clouds all over Adventure City. After forming a whirlwind formation of some kind, it rose up to at least a hundred feet above the highest point in Adventure City, which was Humdinger's tower. That was when the storm clouds started forming, and everyone in the city was being drenched in rain.

Humdinger then started to see what was happening, and instantly blamed Kendra. "What did you put around that device for protection!? Fabric!?" Kendra rolled her eyes, seeing that there was no getting through to Humdinger.

Outside, Marty held onto a lamp post and spoke to the camera, which was very convenient timing indeed. "Marty Muckmaker reporting live with a correction to this morning's weather forecast! Instead of clear blue skies and gentle breeze, it will now be pitch black skies, and hurricane forced winds." And once his wig blew off, he watched it fly off into the wind and spoke to the camera with a completely straight face. "This just in... The wind stole my hair."

Back at HQ, Rocky was comforting a scared Rubble during the storm as everyone was looking at it, and Liberty held Wave's paw to help herself with the booming thunder. Liberty was tugging her ear anxiously, finding it hard to cope with such booming sounds coming from the sky. Zuma wrapped his arm around Rocky while comforting him over how the weather looked outside. "Looking like some gnawly weather Wolfy. Let me know if you wanna wear my wain coat if we have a mission."

When the thunder boomed again, Rubble and Liberty flinched. After they did, Marshall chimed in with another one of his puns. "I never expected the city would give us thunderclaps for our rescues."

Zuma snorted at that pun with the others calling Marshall out before joining in the laughter. "Marshall!"

Just then, Ryder got a call on the main monitor of the HQ base, and when he answered it, it was Kendra, who by some miracle, managed to get outside. "Paw Patrol, what's your emergency?"

"Kendra!" Liberty exclaimed, instantly recognizing her once she saw her face. "Let me guess. It's about the storm."

"You nailed it Liberty!" Kendra informed Liberty, immediately telling the Paw Patrol what happened right after she did. "The mesoscale convective system is causing exponential thermal lift and catastrophic downbursts at over 190 knots!"

Most of the Paw Patrol were confused by that wording, which Snow made clear in her confused snark. "Can we get that in English please?"

"She's saying it's a really big storm." Rocky clarified as he stepped up. "One with catastrophic consequences if we don't act now."

"Finally, someone gets me!" Kendra exclaimed with relief, elaborating on that statement to finish her explanation. "This is not a regular storm. It's being caused by a weather-control device that's unleashing days' worth of bad weather all at once! Also, I'm NEVER letting Humdinger use my gadgets again."

"Take cover Kendra. We're on our way." Ryder assured Kendra, rushing off with the pups to get started with the mission. Above Mayor Humdinger's tower was the Cloud Catcher, remaining at its storm creating position just like before.

Chase's car was being set up for take off, determining him as the first member to participate in the mission. "Chase! Ready for launch! Go!" Liberty was there watching in excitement, continuing with said excitement as Marshall came up to launch. "Marshall! Go!" Wave came up next, and she winked to Liberty, who winked back in response. "Wave! Go!" Next was Rubble, who was ready for takeoff. "Rubble! Go!" Then was Rocky, who DID accept Zuma's offer on wearing his raincoat, and even howled after the tower said his name. "Rocky! Go!"

Zuma was next, looking as relaxed as ever before a mission before he took off. Liberty also laughed as the boosters on his hovercraft pushed her towards the wall a bit. "Zuma! Go!"

Liberty walked over to the edge of the ramp and saw Skye flying off after the others. Once she did, she wished them good luck, knowing this would be at least somewhat challenging; even for them. "Go get em pups." Liberty smiled when Ryder drove up, wanting to express her gratitude for coming to Adventure City. "Ryder, I know you guys might end up leaving after Humdinger loses his place as Mayor, but I just wanna say... thank you. For coming here, for helping our city, and for giving me a chance to help you guys out when I could."

"It was my pleasure Liberty." Ryder assured Liberty, despite having some thoughts in mind he could talk to Chase about later. For now though, he had another idea in mind for the Dachshund sitting next to him. "And ya know, I've been thinking. You're kind of like an honorary member of the Paw Patrol, right?"

"That's what Wave told me." Liberty admitted, smiling as she thought about how great of a friend Wave was. "She's the greatest."

Ryder smiled in response to that, continuing with his build up to Liberty's surprise. "But to be an official member, you'd need a faster vehicle, right?"

Liberty sighed as she commented on Wheely's condition. "I know my ride is a rusty old wagon with a wonky wheel that goes ee-oo-ee-oo-ee-oo. And I love Wheely, but you're right. She's not team material." Just then, Liberty heard a vehicle rising from behind her, surprising her before she turned around to see what it was. What she saw was a coral-pink scooter, and the sight of it made her gasp in awe. "Is that..."

"It's yours." Ryder assured Liberty, being more than happy to make her an official member. "You'll need some training, like everyone else, but I wanted you to have it now."

"Okay Liberty. Play it cool; play it cool." Liberty then started geeking out, unable to contain herself before jumping with a squeal and running over to her new ride. "THIS IS AMAZING; THIS IS THE GREATEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!" She then ran over to the other side and slid underneath it as she continued her gushing. "I'VE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY! IT'S LIKE MY WHOLE LIFE HAS BEEN BUILDING TOWARDS THIS MOMENT! ALL MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE!"

She then fainted for a bit before getting back up and expressing how great of a moment this was for her. "It's so amazing." Ryder laughed a bit, knowing that Liberty would be just as excited as she made herself out to be.

The turbo-booster for Liberty's scooter came out, and then her front light, and then everything else, before she was revealed to be wearing her new bike helmet. Ryder complimented how well she looked while offering her a fist bump. "Looking good Liberty."

"You remember how I thanked you a few seconds ago for everything you did?" Liberty asked, happily adding to that moment. "Add this to the list!"

Ryder gave Liberty a thumbs up as the voice started calling to launch her out into the mission. "Liberty! Ready for launch!"

"The voice said my name!" Liberty exclaimed while tapping her paws on the front. "I can't believe this is really happening!"

She then got surprised as the scooter started to change, but excited at the same time. "Five." She made sure to adjust herself accordingly as the voice continued. "Four." Her booster turned on with Liberty wondering if she could do this. "Three!"

"Um, wait! I'm not sure I'm ready for this!"

"Two!"

"You might wanna hang on!" Ryder assured Liberty, knowing what was gonna happen in that moment.

"One! Go!"

And just then, Liberty's scooter boosted forward, and she started yelling in response and even zipping past someone sitting on a bench, which sent their newspaper flying. Upbeat music started playing as she then started smiling in excitement as she felt the rush of wind on her scooter. She managed to catch up to the others, being more than excited to show them that she was a part of the team. And once she did, Chase called out the fact that she joined them with joy. "Yeah; Liberty!"

"Nice wheels!" Marshall added, being more than happy for Liberty.

"Welcome to the team!" Skye added, being just as happy as the others.

"Oh I can't WAIT to do that again!" Liberty shouted, making some of the other pups laugh as she then clarified what she meant. "I mean, I can. It's just super exciting is all."

"Just wait until we start working on your room!" Wave encouraged Liberty, making her even more excited as she squeed with joy.

Ryder then drove up to the rest of the team to remind them of the stakes. "Okay team! We've got no idea what we're getting into. We're gonna have to improvise." And with that, all of the Paw Patrol, including Charm, who was sitting next to Rocky in his truck, headed off to help everyone in Adventure City with the storm. In the distance, the Cloud Catcher was still booming over Adventure City from Humdinger's tower.

As always, Chase was scared, just like the others. But now, thanks to Ryder, Marshall, Skye, Wave, and Liberty, along with the rest of his friends... he felt he could handle this. And he went in with a confident smile.

Ryder and the others drove through the storm after Mayor Humdinger's tower was shown struggling to stay up. "Closing in on Humdinger Heights!" They all stopped in the same spot, causing Rubble to get hit by Marty's wig. He took his construction hat off and wore the wig underneath it, nodding with a smile at the feel. Ryder then made the calls. "Rocky, Wave, Marshall, Rubble, Snow, Everest, Claw, get those people inside! Zuma, Liberty, make sure the streets are clear!"

"Aye aye Wyder!" Zuma assured Ryder just as he and Liberty, along with the other seven, went off to fulfill their roles. Charm also helped them out by guiding people inside.

Just then, a car was shown flying towards them after having been flung by the wind. Chase was ready, barking as he pressed a button for his net. "Net!" A net launched from his car, latching onto two lampposts and stopping the car from hitting a family just in time. Also, the father stood in front of his family to protect them.

Ryder was quick to compliment Chase's move. "Nice catch!"

"You can count on me Ryder!" Chase assured Ryder, being as ready as ever for this mission, no matter how dangerous it got.
