Defiant: "Upgrades"

Deep Space Nine

"Please!"

O'Brien sighed heavily, focusing on the EPS junction box he was repairing.

"No, Defiant."

The bunny-haired girl leaned over him, her eyes large and pleading.

"Pleeeassse?"

"If it doesn't work for Molly, it won't work for you," O'Brien snorted. Defiant sniffled.

"Pleeeeeaaaassse? You know it would be so awesome!"

O'Brien sighed.

"I've got too many other things to do! Plenty of them to do with you, you know," O'Brien huffed. Defiant pouted.

"Awww... But Chiiiiefff...!"

"No buts!" Miles stated. Defiant pouted, and headed off in a bit of a sulk. She ran into Rom, who looked at her in concern.

"Defiant? Are you all right?"

"Well, it's just that I really want an upgrade but the Chief's too busy," Defiant sighed. Rom hummed.

"Mind letting me see the plans?"

Defiant transmitted the plans to Rom's PADD. He examined the designs carefully. He then grinned.

"Oh! This wouldn't be any trouble at all!"

Defiant brightened immediately.

"Really?!"

"Absolutely!"

Defiant grinned broadly as she confronted her Jem'hadar enemies on the holosuite. She lifted her arm and formed a fist.

"ROCKET PUNCH!"

Her fists fired out, and knocked out dozens of the Jem'hadar soldiers in a single blast. She turned to Captain Sisko, who was standing alongside her. As was Terok's holographic avatar, and a grinning Rom.

"... Seriously?" Terok asked.

"AMAZING!" Rom cheered.

Defiant grinned at her captain.

"So? What do you think?"

Sisko let out a breath.

"Well... It is impressive... But how do you get your hands back?"

"Well I just-! Uh..."

She turned to Rom. Who blinked.

"Oh... Uh... I guess I forgot about that part," he murmured, "I'll have to work on that!"

"It's okay, I forgot about it too," Defiant consoled the Ferengi, patting his shoulder with her wrist stumps.

"Idiots," Terok muttered, as Sisko chuckled.
