Ianto groaned. His head was pounding, his mouth felt drier than the Sahara Desert back on earth, he was ravenously hungry as well as thirsty, and his skin felt several sizes too small. Also, he had no idea where he was, although from what he could tell, he was lying on a soft surface. Something moved beside him, jostling him.

"Jack? Is that you?" Ianto winced at how hoarse his voice sounded.

"It was last time I checked." Jack's voice sounded equally rough, but Ianto drew reassurance from the fact that he wasn't alone.

"What the hell happened?" He opened his eyes but couldn't see a thing. "Where are we?" He blinked but his vision didn't clear. "Is it dark in here?"

"Could be, but there's no way of knowing until our vision comes back."

"Comes back?" The sense of reassurance was rapidly fading. "What d'you mean 'comes back'?"

"We're blind. Don't worry, it's a temporary side-effect, should wear off in an hour or two."

"Side-effect of what, exactly?"

"You don't remember last night?"

"If I remembered I wouldn't be asking."

Ianto could almost hear Jack's grin. "That was one hell of a night! Welcome to your first hypervodka hangover!"
