Heaven- Undisclosed Location

Pain.

That would sum up what Emily was feeling, just pain. She was not sure where she was taken, but she was sure that it was some kind of prison. She was bound to a chair, her clothes partially torn, and bleeding golden from some wounds inflicted upon her. She could not believe that angels were such pretentious pricks, that they preach about virtue, and then do stuff like this.

It still boggled Emily's mind, why Sera decided to imprison her, even though she did the right thing.

Flashback

Emily was still shocked at Adam striking her, that she did not notice Lute cuffing her with Angelic Steel cuffs. Sera just looked furious, and that fury was directed not at Adam for striking a Seraphim, nor at Lute for taking one as a prisoner. No, the fury was directed at Emily, as if she had just turned into a new sin. Besides Sera, Michael was glancing disappointed at Sera and her Exterminator commanders, before giving Emily an apologetic look.

"Wooohooo, got you now bitch! You think you can just tell secret to the enemy, without facing the consequences? Nah, you'll suffer for that!" Adam laughed, while Lute stood beside him looking very smug.

"Emily, what were you thinking?! Not only did you disobey me, but you also had Michael get you the Messengers Lamp. This artifact is only for emergencies, and not for a call to hell!" Sera shouted, anger and disappointment in her voice.

"You want to tell me that what you condone is just? To kill sinners, no, human souls, who want to try and be absolved of their sins? Yes, they might have screwed up once, but as far as I can tell, everyone deserves a second chance!" Emily snapped back.

"You are really daft, are you not "Highness"?" Lute interjected, towering over Emily, who was sitting on the floor due to Adams strike. "Do you really believe that these monsters know anything about forgiveness and kindness? No, they are just psychopaths, who play nice until they get what they want. It is our duty to protect heaven from these lying bastards!"

"In all the years since Lucifer fell, there was not a single uprising, and if I recall correctly, you are the one who is basically a murderer, as you kill without remorse!" Emily shot back.

"These beasts down there do not deserve mercy, they are just mindless monsters, you stupid brat!" Lute shouted now.

That is enough! From both sides." Sera said with contempt. "Emily, for not following my orders, and for endangering heaven by giving away information to the enemy, I, as the head Seraphim, find you guilty of treason. This punishment shall be death, but as we are currently two weeks away from the Extermination, your execution shall be postponed to a more suitable time."

Emily could not believe it. She was just trying to help human souls, as it was her job. But when wayward souls try to redeem themselves, the Echelon turned a blind eye, even send Angels down there to exterminate these so-called monsters.

"Hell yeah! Thats what you get for trying to support these bastards down under!" Adam screamed in joy.

"Adam, please get some of your people to take Emilys wings and her Halo as she won't be needing them from now on" Sera said.

"Do not worry Head Seraphim, I can take care of this problem right now!" Lute said, bloodlust in her eyes.

Before anyone could react, Lute sprouted her wings and dashed behind Emily, brandishing her Angelic sword. With one slice, she severed Emilys upper right wing, and got the sword stuck in her middle right wing. Emily roared in pain, tears falling from her eyes when she saw her wing fall over her shoulder, still spouting golden blood. But Lute was not done.

She then used her sword as a leverage and ripped off the middle right wing. Emily felt unimaginable pain, even more than the first slice, as her Wing was literally ripped off her back. Emily screamed, Angelic blood flowing down her back, as Lute sliced off the upper left and middle left wing with her sword.

"This last one is my favorite!" Lute smiled sadistically, before grabbing the last 2 wings attached to Emily and started to pull.

Emily roared once again when she felt her wings tear from her body, it was a pain she would not wish onto anyone. With one final anguished scream, Lute ripped off Emilys wings. The now mutilated Seraphim was lying on the floor, bleeding heavily. She just wanted the pain to end. In her delirium, she looked up to Sera, who did not share any kind of compassion.

Michael on the other hand immediately rushed to Emilys side. Trying to keep her conscious, while trying to stop the blood from flowing. This proved rather difficult, as Lute did a ruthless job by tearing of the wings in such a brutal manner.

"Emi, try to stay with me, okay?" Michael whispered, before turning towards Sera, Adam and Lute. "What you just did, was far from fair. Since when are Angels, no less Seraphim, punished by such a brutal manner? When Samael was casted out of heaven, we did not take his wings, and he committed an even greater crime, against God non the less!"

"Rules changed, Mikey. And do not speak of this bastard of an Angel in my presence! He is the ultimate evil! If not for the pact we have made, I would have killed him by now!" Adam shouted, as he motioned for 2 of his Exterminators to take Emily away.

"You might be Gods first creation, but you act like you are above him. Let me tell you now, that Samael was Gods firstborn son, and his favorite son to some extend too! He is the most powerful being next to God, not one of us Archangels or Seraphim could defeat him when it came to blows." Samael spoke, his voice trembling with power with each word.

"The only reason he was not elected as the Commander of the Heavenly Army is the fact that he was against war! He only fights, when his family is in danger. So, let me tell you, should you really decide to go after Charlotte Morningstar, then be prepared to meet your demise, as Samael Morningstar will wreak destruction upon you for ever trying to hurt his family!" Michael stormed out of the courtroom.

Sera just looked after Michael, wishing he would understand why she did what she did. It was not an easy task to make sure heaven was safe. Sometimes she even doubts herself that what she does is right, but there was no room for doubt in this position. She was not all too happy with the Extermination but viewed them as a necessary evil to keep heaven secure.

Flashback Ends

Emily was crying right now, she was not sure, why though. Was it the pain her fresh wound brought her? Or was it the fact that Sera did not intervene when Lute brutally assaulted her? She could not believe why Sera was doing all of this, and still believe that her course of action was just.

Emily shut her eyes, when the door to her cell opened. She reopened her eyes slowly to see Michael standing in front of her, with another Angel to his left. He looked as if he would pass out at every moment from exhaustion, his hair kempt back, as if he tried to fix it. This was none other than Gabriel, the Messenger Angel.

"Young Seraphim, me and Gabriel will save you from this execution" Michael said, kneeling.

"And how so? Even if you get me out of this prison, the Exterminators will look for me up here until they find me!" Emily said with a broken voice.

"Well, we can save you, but it comes with a price. You see you would be an easy target up here in heaven, but if we bring you to safety away from heaven, you could live free." Gabriel said.

Emily thought for a second before asking. "So you would send me to hell, in order to save my life?"

"That is correct, Young One. In hell, there are people who will take care of you. And I am pretty confident that Samael will protect you once he knows you are there" Michael said.

Emily gave this idea a good thought. While she would leave behind precious memories of Molly and Nicolas, it was far outweighed by the hypocrisy she endured over the last few weeks. I was funny to her, how quick her view of heaven shattered, once she learned of the Extermination.

"Do it" was all that Emily said.

Michael and Gabriel looked at each other before lifting their hands. They spoke in the true language of the Angels, and Emily felt the power emanating from them. White light surrounded her, and, in a flash, the light vanished, and with it, Emily.

"I hope that you will protect her like your own, Samael." Michael thought, before motioning to Gabriel to leave the prison.
