Episode 166: Squawk Havoc and Let's Slip the Dogs of Power
Continuing on their journey up Mt. Silver and to take Larvitar back to his birthplace, Mew and her friends, along with Molly's mother, have reached the entrance of the ancient ruins that Eusine explained about. The ruins they arrive seem to blend in with the trees, there are ruins, and a few paths that lead to a large tunnel in the mountain.
"So, this is the ruins you told us about," Mew says.
"That's correct. I've been wanting to come here for a long time," Eusine says.
"Hey Eusine, how long have you been studying Ho-Oh, and the legendary Pokemon?" Casey asks.
"For a very long time to be honest," Eusine says, "I actually used to live in Celadon City in the Kanto Region, and I came to the Johto Region to study the Legendary Pokemon here."
"That's cool. Brock, Misty, Tomo, and I are from the Kanto Region too," Mew says.
"Really?" Vicnent asks.
"Yeah. I'm from Pewter City," Brock says.
"I'm from Cerulean City," Misty says.
"I'm from Pallet Town," Mew says.
"I'm from the Pokémon Preservation Area there," Tomo says.
"That's cool," Marina says.
Diana says, "Yes. My husband Spencer actually used to live in Pallet Town before he moved to Greenfield."
"I remember that incident," Mew says.
"Well now that we're done with the chat, let's go check out the ruins," Vincent says.
"Yeah. Let's go," Jimmy says.
Soon, the group begins to walk around the ruins to see what they can learn about the legendary Pokemons. Larvitar and Togepi are very curious to see the ruins, especially Larvitar.
"Larvitar, remember to stay close. We don't want you to get lost," Mew says.
"Same for you, Togepi," Misty says.
Larvitar and Togepi nod their heads in response.
"These ancient ruins look like they've been here for centuries," Brock says.
"I agree. Archaeologists and Pokemon researchers like coming to this spot to study and check out the ruins," Eusine says.
"That's neat," Casey says.
Molly turns to her mother, "How are you doing, mama?"
"I'm doing okay, Molly. It's just going to take time before I'm back to full strength," Diana says.
"That's true. It may take some time, but I'm sure you'll feel a lot better after a little moving around and such," Mew says.
"After the ruins, we'll be able to get Larvitar back to its birthplace," Brock says.
"You're right," Molly says.
Then turns to Larvitar, "Hear that, Larvitar. We're almost at your home."
"Larvitar," Larvitar happily says.
"He's happy alright," Mew says.
Everyone begins giggling in response.
Just then, a Venonat and a Scyther come out and walk by them.
"Look, it's a Venonat," Misty says.
"And a Scyther," Marina says, amazed.
"I wonder if it came from the Preservation area," Jimmy says.
Soon, Venonat and Scyther walk over to the group after noticing them. Pikachu, Eevee, and the other Pokemon, except for Larvitar, smile and rush over. The Pokemon soon begins chatting among themselves.
"Hold on, doesn't that Venonat look familiar?" Tomo asks.
Jenn realizes, "Hey, you're right. The Scyther does too.
Suddenly, they hear a familiar voice, "Venonat! Scyther! Did you find anything?"
"Venonat," (I sure did.) Venonat calls out.
"Scyther Scyther," (And we found familiar friends.) Scyther adds.
Soon, a familiar face walks over, Tracey.
He soon notices the large group of humans and Pokemon, "Mew? Misty? Guys?"
Mew, Misty, Brock, Tomo, Jen, and Molly smile to see him.
"Tracey!" Jen happily says.
"We didn't expect to see you here," Mew says.
"Neither did I, but it's great to see you guys," Tracey says.
Casey then asks, "Who's he?"
Tomo turns to Casey, "This is our friend, Tracey who's a Pokemon Watcher. We met him when we were traveling the Orange Islands and traveled with us before deciding to stay and study with Professor Oak."
"Well then, it's very nice to meet you, Tracey. My name is Casey," Mew says.
"Nice to meet you, Casey. I'm Tracey," Tracey says.
Then Mew says, "And these are our new friends, Jimmy, Marina, Vincent, and Eusine."
Then Molly says, "And this is my mama, Diana,
"Hello," Jimmy, Vincent, and Marina reply.
"Hello," Eusine says.
"It's nice to meet you, everyone," Tracey says.
"So Tracey, what are you doing here?" Mew asks.
"Well, I'm actually on a little vacation from helping Professor Oak. I heard about the ancient ruins on Mt. Silver and decide to check the place out. I didn't expect to find you all here," Tracey says.
"Well, Eusine plans to come to the ruins, and we decide to tag along," Mew says.
"That's good to hear," Tracey says.
Then Tracey notices Larvitar hiding behind Mew's leg.
"And this must be Larvitar," Tracey says as he kneels down to it, "It's nice to meet you."
However, Larvitar hardens a little in response.
"Uh oh," Tracey replies.
"Larvitar still gets like that when he's nervous," Mew says.
She then picks up Larvitar and holds him in her arms.
Mew reassures him, "It's okay Larvitar, this is Tracey. He's a good friend of mine, and he cares about Pokemon as much as me and my friends do."
"Lar?" Larvitar replies, confused.
"It's okay, Larvitar. Mew and are are friends, and I'm sure we can be friends too," Tracey says with a smile.
Larvitar shyly nods in response.
"It's still going to take a little time. He's able to fully open up to the rest of us, but I think Larvitar is still shy," Mew says.
"That's okay. I heard about Larvitar from Professor Oak, and I'm glad to see that it's doing better now," Tracey says.
"I'm glad he's doing a lot better now," Mew says.
"So, Tracey, what have you been up to here?" Brock asks.
"I've been looking around the ruins and seeing if I can find any interesting Pokemon," Tracey says.
"Do you mind if we tag along with you?" Misty asks.
"Sure. I don't mind at all. We can go together," Tracey says.
Soon enough, the group begins looking around the ancient ruins.
"Wow. There are a lot of old buildings and ruins," Marina says.
"Yeah, and there are quite a lot of Pokemon statues," Mew says.
Indeed, there are different kinds of Pokemon statues and some drawings on the wall. There are a few broken statues and figures of Pokemon, but some are intact.
"They must really have a passion about Pokemon," Misty says.
"Yeah," Brock says.
"This is so cool," Jimmy says.
"Indeed," Eusine says, "These Ancient Ruins at Mt. Silver have been around for millions of years and they're known for having love for Pokemon, even the Pokemon they become companions with. They even have ways to help the Pokemon live at Mt. Silver, along with helping them with their eggs."
"Sounds like they really cared about Pokemon," Mew says.
"Yeah. We love our Pokemon as well," Misty says.
The group continues walking down the ruins to see the buildings and the old relics that the people before them left behind.
Molly looks ahead, "Hey guys, look over there. There's a big cave."
"It's really big," Jen says.
"Let's go see what's inside," Mew says.
The group then walks into the cave, and it's really big. As they look around, they see some old oil lamps, and some of them are broken, along with many different holes on the ground.
"What is this place?" Brock wonders.
"I'm not sure, but there are many different holes on the ground," Misty says.
"True, but…" Jimmy says and kneels down, "They don't look very deep. And judging by the shape and size, they seem to fit Pokemon eggs."
"I agree, Jimmy. This must be the old hatchery for the Pokemon. It will allow them to help keep the eggs warm, especially during the winter seasons," Eusine says.
"The place is really big, and there aren't many windows here," Molly says.
"Yes. I wouldn't be surprised if they need a lot of lights and fire to keep the cave warm," Diana says.
"Yeah. There are even some bricks in a circle. It's clear that they used to be fireplaces," Vincent says.
Larvitar soon notices a strange light coming from one of the tunnels of the cave.
Larvitar taps on her leg, "Lar. Larvitar."
Mew looks down to Larvitar, "What is it, Larvitar?"
"Lar Lar Larvitar," (Look, there's a light over there.) Larvitar says.
"A light?" Mew questions.
Mew turns to see a light in the tunnel.
"Hey guys, look over there," Mew says.
Everyone turns to see the light coming from deeper in the cave.
"There's a light," Misty says.
"Perhaps someone else is here to investigate the ruins," Eusine says.
"Could be. Let's see who it is," Tracey says.
Mew, Tracey, Brock, and Eusine walk towards the tunnel, which isn't a long one. There are a few slots on the walls, almost like windows. Most likely where they put the oil lamps and torches to light up the cave. Just then, they begin to hear voices. When they arrive, they see two men with flashlights and looking at some of the old writing.
"Hello," Mew calls out.
The two men turn their heads to see Spencer Hale, and his assistant, Schuyler.
"Oh, hello Mew," Spencer says.
"Hi Tracey," Schuyler says.
"Spender? Schuyler?" Mew questions, surprised.
"What are you two doing here?" Tracey asks.
Just then, Molly walks over and smiles at her papa.
"Papa!" Molly happily says and runs up to him.
"Molly," Spencer says happily and gives Molly a big hug.
He then picks her up, "It's so good to see you."
"I'm happy to see you, papa," Molly happily says, "But what are you and Schuyler doing here?"
"Schuyler and I have been doing some research at the ancient ruins and checking out the ancient hatchery that was left here," Spencer says.
"What a coincidence, so are we," Tracey says.
"We plan to check out the ruins before heading to the Pokemon Preservation Area here at Mt. Silver to return a Larvitar there," Brock says.
"And then, we're going to head to the Johto League Silver Conference," Mew says.
"I heard from Professor Oak that you have eight badges now," Spencer says.
"That's right. I've got all eight badges for the Pokemon League," Mew says.
"Congratulations," Schuyler says.
Suddenly, Misty's voice calls out, "Mew?! Tracey?! Brock?! Eusine?! What's going on?!"
"Everything okay?!" Jen calls out.
"We're doing fine, but you're not going to believe who's here!" Mew calls out.
Misty and the others soon enter the cavern.
"Hey, it's Molly's dad," Tomo says.
"And Schuyler," Jen adds.
"Hey, looks like everyone is here, and I see your group got bigger," Spencer says.
"Right, Spencer, Schuyler, these are our new friends. Eusine, Jimmy, Vincent, Marina, and Casey," Mew says. "And guys, this is Molly's dad, Spencer, and his assistant, Schuyler."
"It's nice to meet you," Jimmy says.
Soon, Brock notices, "Hold on, Where's Diana?"
"Diana is sitting outside of the cave. She was kind of tired, so she wanted to rest a little bit," Marina answers.
"Diana?" Schuyler says, confused.
Molly soon remembers and turns to her papa, "Papa, we found mama."
"What?" Spencer asks, shocked.
"It's true. We found mama. The Unown brought her back," Molly says.
Spencer gasps in shock to hear what Molly says, "What?"
Outside of the cave, Diana is sitting next to Larvitar who is deeply concerned. Diana turns to Larvitar and shows a sweet smile on her face.
She says, "It's okay, Larvitar. I'm just feeling tired for the time being."
Larvitar slowly nods in reply.
Soon, Mew walks out to see Diana and Larvitar.
"Hey Diana. Larvitar. How are you both doing?" Mew says.
"We're doing okay," Diana says. "Larvitar was kind enough to keep me company."
"Lar," Larvitar happily says.
"That's nice. Anyway, someone actually wants to see you," Mew says.
"Really? Who?" Diana asks.
Mew gestures her hand and Spencer walks out. Diana gasps in shock to see him. Spencer does the same seeing Diana.
"Di, Diana?" Spencer speaks out.
Diana stands up in surprise, "Spencer…"
Without a second though, the two lovers pull each other into a hug.
"Oh Spencer," Diana happily says.
"Diana," Spender says.
Everyone walks out of the cave to see the happy couple are back together. Molly walks up to her parents, earning their attention. They both pick up Molly and they all join together for a family hug. Everyone smiles and glad to see the Hale Family is finally back together again.
Shortly after the reunion, everyone is sitting outside the cave as they have sandwiches for lunch. Mew and the others explain about their adventures since what happened at Greenfield, and how the Unown is able to bring Molly's mother, Diana back to them.
"So that's what happened," Schuyler says.
"Yeah. We not only learned a lot about Larvitar, and helped the Unown get back home, but we also somehow got Molly's mom back, but I think it's the Unown's way of thanking us," Brock says.
"Wow. That's amazing," Schuyler says.
Änd it sounds like you had a great adventure Molly," Spencer says.
Molly giggles, "Yes. My friends and I have such an adventure." Then brings out her Entei Egg, "And I'm also going to have my own Entei friend someday. I hope to raise it to be strong like the big Entei."
"I'm sure you will. I'm still surprised you're able to get an Entei egg, same with the others," Spencer says.
"Yes. It sure was a surprise," Schuyler says.
Then Spencer then hugs Diana, "I'm very glad to see you again, Diana."
"I'm glad too," Diana says.
"Mr. Hale, what were you doing in that other room?" Misty asks.
"Yeah. Papa, what were you and Schuyler doing there?" Molly asks.
"Well Molly, we were exploring the ruins to learn about the civilization here. We found a separate room in the ancient hatchery in the caves," Spencer says.
"A separate hatchery?" The group says, confused.
Sometime later, having finished having good, Spencer and Schyler show everyone the cave down the tunnel. They soon light up the room with candles, flashlights, and torches. They find the seven holes on the ground.
"This is what we found in the ruins," Schyler says.
"There are eight holes here," Brock says.
"You're right. And look, each of them has some strange symbol on it," Eusine says.
Mew kneels down and wipes some of the dirt from one of the symbols next to one of the holes. Underneath the small patch of dirt, there is a symbol of a feather, and it's familiar.
"Hey, this looks like the Rainbow Feather," Mew says.
"You're right," Jen says.
Brock wipes the dirt from the other symbol next to another hole, "Hey, this one looks like the Silver Wing."
Tomo then notices, "Hey, all of these holes have symbols on it."
Soon, everyone wipes the dirt from the symbols to reveal six other symbols. Two of them have fire symbols, two of them are lightning, one is ice, and the last is water. What's more, each of them also has hieroglyphic versions of the Legendary Birds and Dogs. The Fire, Thunder, and Ice also have the Legendary Birds. The symbols of Fire, Thunder, and Water have the Legendary Dogs.
"All of them have these symbols around the eggs," Misty says.
"Yes. I recognize three of them to be the symbols of the Legendary Beasts: Entei, Raikou, and Suicune," Eusine says.
"And I recognize the symbols from the Orange Islands: One is for Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos," Mew says.
"And there is the one that resembles the Rainbow Wing that represents Ho-Oh, and the Silver Wing that represents Lugia," Brock says.
"I wonder if this chamber is built for the legendary Pokemon to lay their eggs," Misty replies.
"It's possible," Jimmy says.
"It does seem like a possibility, these legendary Pokemon either live around the Johto Region or travel around the world and stop at specific locations from time to time. In theory, they build this special hatchery for the legendary Pokemon to make sure their eggs are safe from those who seek harm to the Pokemon and their future hatchlings," Spender explains.
"Hmm, I wonder if they still work," Jen wonders.
"Well, we do have some Legendary Pokemon eggs, I say let's give it a try," Mew says.
Jen brings out her Suicune Egg, "I'll try it out first."
Eusine then goes to the first hole, "I suspect that the Suicune Egg should go right here. Remember to be gentle because those holes are very old."
"Okay," Jen says.
She then kneels down and gently places the egg in the slot. It's a perfect fit as Jen gently moves her hands away.
"It's a perfect fit," Jen says.
Then Eusine look at the other two holes, "And I have to suspect that the other two beside Suicne's place is for Raikou and Entei."
Tomo and Molly bring out their eggs and gently place them in the hole. They're also a perfect fit.
Mew then brings out her Ho-Oh Egg and walks to the hole with the Rainbow Feather, "And this one is for Ho-Oh's egg." And place it in the hole.
Then turns to the hole with the Silver Wing, "I assume this one is for Lugia's egg, but…"
And right on cue, Lugia comes out and is sitting in the slot hole. Everyone giggles in response.
"Oh Lugia, you got out of your Pokeball again," Mew says.
Eusine says, "Well, considering Lugia already hatched, it doesn't have to sit there."
But Lugia simply plops himself into the hole like it's a nest.
Misty giggles, "I think he wants to."
"Okay Lugia, you can stay, but behave," Mew says.
Then Mew looks at the other three holes. She brings out the Zapdos Egg and places it in the proper hole.
"There's still two eggs missing, excluding Lugia. The one for Moltress and Articuno," Mew says.
Just then, Jimmy remembers something, "Hey Mew, did you find two other eggs, but didn't know what they were."
"Yes," Mew replies.
"What if those eggs are Articuno and Moltres eggs," Jimmy says.
"Really? But I wasn't given to them by Articuno or Moltres like with Zapdos. I found them both alone," Mew says.
"Maybe, but they could be the other two Legendary Birds eggs. So you should try," Jimmy says.
"It's worth a shot though," Marina says.
"I guess you're right," Mew says.
With that, Mew places the two other eggs in the final two slots. Both of them have been gently put in place.
Just then, the eggs begin to glow.
"What's happening? Vincent exclaims.
"I think they're starting to hatch," Cassey says.
"Amazing," Tracey says.
"We're about to witness new life to the legendary Pokemon," Eusine says.
Everyone continues to watch the eggs as they glow and soon, Mew's Ho-Oh's egg begins hatching. The other eggs begin hatching as well. And soon enough, a baby Ho-Oh hatches out of the egg and lets out the baby chirping.
"Ho-Oh hatched," Mew says.
She kneels to Ho-Oh, "Hi little Ho-Oh."
Ho-Oh turns to Mew and happily chips. Then, the eggs of the Legendary Birds hatch and reveal baby moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno.
"They all hatched," Mew says.
The three baby birds look at Mew and happily gather to them. Lugia happily approaches Mew and the baby birds. The little birds look to see Lugia and are surprised to see how big Lugia is. They soon jump on Mew's shoulder, like baby birds gathering towards their mother. Lugia also snuggles Mew's face, making the girl giggle. Tomo, Jen, and Molly watch as their eggs hatch. And finally their baby Pokemon hatched as well.
"Yay! They hatched!" Molly says.
Jen kneels to Suicune, "Hi Suicune, it's nice to meet you."
"Hey Raikou," Tomo says.
"Hello Entei," Molly says.
The baby Pokemon walk to their trainer to greet them. Everyone else smiles to see the newborns of Legendary Pokemon in this world. Raikou licks Tomo's cheek as Entei nuzzles Molly. The little Bird Pokemon snuggle Mew with glee. Everyone soon met the little legendary Pokemon. Despite them being shy, they are comfortable with the new humans and Pokemon around them.
After that, everyone exits the hatchery with their new Pokemon babies.
"Well Mew, it looks like you and the others are going to have your hands full," Jimmy says.
"I know, but I'm sure we can handle it," Mew says.
"Yeah," Tomo, Jen, and Molly reply.
Scyther soon notices something on the left and walks away.
"Where are you going, Scyther?" Tracey asks, and follows Scyther.
Mew and the others do the same as well. Scyther soon looks down to see a unique stone. Scyther then picks it up and presents it to Tracey.
"Whatcha got there?" Tracey asks.
Scyther turns to reveal it holding a metal object.
"Look at that, Scyther has found a Metal Coat," Jimmy says.
Just then, Scyther and the Metal Coat begin to glow, catching everyone off guard.
"What's going on?" Mew asks.
"I think Scyther is…" Brock says.
"Scyther is starting to evolve," Tracye says.
Scyther begins to change the shape and now Scyther has evolved into a Scizor.
"Wow. Scyther has evolved," Misty says.
"It's a Scizor now," Tracey say.
Mew brings out her Pokedex and Dexter says, "Scizor, the Pincer Pokemon, and the evolved form of Scyther. A Bug and Steal Type. Scizor has a body with the hardness of steel. It is not easily fazed by ordinary sorts of attack. It flaps its wings to regulate its body temperature."
"That's cool," Tomo says.
"Yeah. Congrates on evolving Scizor," Treacy says.
Scizor nods in reply.
Later on, Mew and her friends are ready to depart to take Larvitar back home. Diana decides to stay with Spencer to catch up with her husband and to enjoy the ruins. Tracey and Eusine decide to stay as well.
"Well, it looks like we're ready to go," Mew says.
"Will you be okay, mam?" Molly asks.
"I'll be okay," Diana says.
"Don't worry Molly, once Schuyler and I are done with the research here, we'll be heading to the Silver Conference," Spencer says.
"And Tracey and I will stay behind to help with the research left here," Eusine says.
"Okay. We'll be taking Larvitar to his birthplace first and then we'll be heading to the Silver Conference," Mew says.
Soon, the group take their leave as they say their goodbyes and wish the group goodluck on returning Larvitar home.
Molly happily turns to Larvitar, "Well Larvitar, after all that we're finally going to get you home."
"Larvitar!" Larvitar says with a smile.
"Larvitar sounds very excited now," Jimmy says.
"Well after all the traveling, Larvitar is ready to return home and to his mom," Casey says.
"I agree," Mew says.
Larvitar shows a smile.
And so, after the adventure at the ruins, Mew, Tomo, Jen, and Molly have new babies to raise, and their family has gotten brighter. And now, they continue on to return Larvitar to his home and to his mother. And then, it's off to the Johto League Silver Conference.
