Chapter Summary: Just wandering around Sunnydale, meeting people.
Chapter Word Count: 5,204
"Why are you really here in Sunnydale?" Buffy asked, as they stood outside the dojo.
"To play music," Yuki said. "You can see us at the Bronze tomorrow night, and possible tonight if the other band that is booked for tonight doesn't find its' instruments before tonight."
"That's like using a shoe shopping trip to LA as an excuse to meet someone at the airport," Buffy said. "If it's a secret, fine. But if I can help?"
"We are here to play," Sita said. "We are traveling north along the coast, stopping in small towns along the way."
"We have also been asked to look into several things while we travel," Mika said, in a low voice. "In LA we checked out a demon bar, Caritas, to see if it was truly neutral territory that can be used for meetings."
"Is it?" Buffy asked, curious.
"Yes. It has spells placed on it that prevents anyone from fighting," Sita said. "However, the Host is concerning. He can read your fortune if you sing."
"So, no singing in Caritas, if I have a meeting there," Buffy said. "Got it."
"Also, the spell only works while inside. It doesn't apply once you leave," Sita said.
"Ah, that could be a problem," Buffy said. "And Sunnydale? What brings you to the Hellmouth? You weren't asked to check on the big stinky pit of evil in the old high school, were you?"
"No, word has it that it is well protected," Mika said. "We assume they mean by you and your mentor."
"It's been drained of spare evil power," Buffy said. "Evil Mayor soaked it up last year. It should be good and quiet until the next apocalypse season, or the one after that."
"To answer your question, there are reports that a dangerous artifact has been located in this town and that it shouldn't fall into the hands of certain elements," Sita said.
"Sunnydale is full of dangerous artifacts," Buffy said, sighing. "It's like a big garage sale of evil. What's this one called?"
"The Gem of Amara," Mika said. "We do not know what it looks like or what its purpose is, but we have been asked to find it, and destroy it, if possible."
"Huh. I'll ask Giles if he's heard of it," Buffy said. "If it's old enough I'm sure one of his musty old books mentions it somewhere."
"Assistance would be welcome," Sita said.
"Another sparing session?" Buffy asked. "Before you leave town?"
"As soon as her ego recovers," Yuki said.
"There was no ego involved," Sita said. "We are not magical girls. Losing to one as gracious as Buffy-San was an honor."
"I'll let you know if I hear anything," Buffy said, blushing.
"We thank you," Sita said, bowing low.
They stood there for a minute watching Buffy quickly walk off, towards the campus. Then they turned and started their run back to their motel.
"That was enlightening," Mika said. "In this sim she's almost unbeatable by one of us. I would not like to go up against a real person like her."
"Unlikely," Sita said. "The kind of power required to create a magical girl with her skills is not available in the real world."
"You don't think the Fox God would need to create a magical girl demon hunter?" Yuki said.
"We do not have demons that require such talented pest control," Mika said. "So there is no need."
"We do not have any demons that we are aware of," Sita said, correcting her. "And magic in the real world is different in nature. It is more about finesse than power."
"Our memories of demon hunts are not real," Yuki said. "For which I am glad. I would not like to be locked in perpetual combat with the kinds of demons that exist here, even those vampires."
"They seem very fragile for what terror they seem to generate," Mika said. "They have speed and strength, and not much else."
"It's more than enough for an ordinary person," Sita said. "They do not have the benefit of the forms to protect them."
"So, how do we find this gem?" Yuki asked. "Has your scanner found it yet?"
"If it has power we can detect it is being lost in the background noise," Yanzy said. "There just doesn't seem to be anything."
"There are several occult shops in Sunnydale," Mika said. "Maybe they can tell us something?"
"We can't just walk into one of them and say 'Have you seen this gem?" Yuki said. "We don't even know what it looks like."
"Jewelry? Or a wall decoration?" Yanzy said. "Unknown gem of unknown powers. There must be something special about it."
"Would have been more useful to know more than its name and location," Yuki said. "There's the Espresso Pump. I could use a drink."
"Yes. Coffee," Yanzy said. "We've done our exercise for the morning. Coffee, back to the motel to clean up, and then some exploring."
"And a muffin," Yuki said. "I think better after eating one of their muffins.
"In the real world you would have to work off that muffin," Mika said, "or you'd turn into a round ball of orneriness"
"We all have our hobbies," Yuki said. "I wonder if they have any more of those banana nut ones."
After a quick bite for lunch at a small diner near their motel, they drove down to the center of town.
"This doesn't look like anything special," Yuki said, pushing open the door to the Magic Box. "Looks like your standard new-age tourist trap."
"And if you insult them they aren't likely to help us," Mika said, hushing her. "I'm sure a tourist trap doesn't carry things like that." She pointed at a wall covered in small containers like an old Chinese medicine shop.
"And books," Sita said softly, nodding to a far wall covered in shelves that were full of ancient books.
"What can I do to help members of the honorable Kitsune clan?" A scratchy voice said. "What brings you to my shop?"
"We are looking for information, honored shopkeeper," Sita said, bowing slightly.
"We're seeing the sights in town between gigs," Yuki said. "A map of things to see in Sunnydale would be useful."
"The kinds of things you are looking for are not found on maps," the proprietor said. "And not in any books we would carry."
"No?" Mika said. "Where would we find such information?"
"The high school library would have been a good place to start, but it is currently closed for renovations," she said.
"We heard that something happened to the school last spring," Sita said. "Were the books relocated to somewhere else?"
"I cannot say," the proprietor said. "They have not appeared in any local sales that I am aware of."
"Who would know?" Sita asked.
"The school librarian," she said. "Rupert Giles."
"That name sounds familiar," Yuki said over the comm. "Where have we heard that name before?"
"Rupert Giles is Buffy's mentor and trainer," Yanzy said. "He was the school librarian, I believe."
"So we have to go see a librarian?" Yuki said. "A sexy librarian?"
"The sexy librarian trope is usually female," Yanzy said. "If I recall him correctly he is what one would call distinguished, if you like that type."
"Pass," Yuki said. "Not looking for an old librarian. He probably has grey hair and a squint. And constantly mumbles about books."
"We aren't here to look at the male scenery," Sita said.
"Female scenery?" Yuki said. "That redhead last night was kind of cute. And so was Buffy, but relationships with magical girls can be deadly."
"The redhead is a witch," Yanzy said. "And her boyfriend is in a band."
"I'm in a band," Yuki said. "I even play drums. Don't California chicks dig that?"
"You've been watching too much American teen television," Mika said. "Of the wrong decade. No one talks like that."
"I thought The Monkees was a documentary. Isn't it?" Yuki said, blinking innocently.
"Only if you're a Hollywood band trying to be like the Beatles," Yanzy said. "And none of us is nostalgic enough for that on this trip."
"So, we're off to see this Giles person?" Yuki said. "Do we know where he lives?"
"I'm sure he's in the phone book," Yanzy said. "Or we can go wait in a graveyard for Buffy to rescue us from the evil vampires, again."
"We were quite capable of rescuing ourselves," Sita said. "It was just polite to allow her to think we needed help after she found us."
"Maybe it's Sita we need to worry about," Yuki said. "Apparently the way to her heart is to defeat her in combat."
"No," Sita said, leaving the shop.
"Interesting idea," Mika said. "That must explain it. No one can match up to her. She defeated everyone in the trials, and none of us has ever beaten her. How has she done against the Shadows during training?"
"I don't think she has ever faced one of them in any of our training sessions," Yuki said, hurrying to catch up to them.
"And the only person to defeat her was a magical girl named Buffy," Mika said. "In a sim. I'm not sure that counts."
"Can you have sex in a sim?" Yuki said. "Or would it just feel too fake?"
"No," Sita said, frowning. "We are not discussing this."
"Would it even count? If a virgin has sex in a sim, are they still a virgin afterward?" Yuki continued. "I think Sita need to test this theory for us."
"Won't she lose her visions?" Yanzy said.
"That's a human myth," Sita said. "And doesn't apply to priestesses of the Fox God."
"So, you have thought about this," Yuki said, smirking. "I knew you weren't serious about the whole 'priestesses can't have sex' rule."
"We are not discussing sex in the sim," Sita said. "Or anywhere else."
"Well, we need to discuss it somewhere," Yuki said. "We don't have groupies, like other bands."
"Fox Metal is an idol band," Sita said. "We don't have groupies like most metal bands."
"Well, none that can make it past your security at our concerts," Yanzy said. "And the rest of us know how to be discreet."
"The band's band has groupies?" Yuki said. "Why am I only hearing about this now?"
"Because part of our contracts included a 'don't corrupt the idols' morality clause, and we like playing with the band too much to jeopardize that?" Yanzy said.
"What does that even mean," Yuki said. "Corrupt us how?"
"I suspect, by talking about things like this," Mika said. "We may not be a traditional idol group but we still are idols. Squeaky clean and innocent, even though we dress like Victorian cosplay characters."
"But not in Sunnydale," Yuki said. "This is the perfect opportunity to experiment."
"And the sim is being recorded," Yanzy said. "Do you want someone to see your experiments? I did not realize you are an exhibitionist."
"Can't you just turn that off?" Yuki asked.
"No," Yanzy said. "The pods are doing the recording. I have no control over that with my scanner tools."
"Have we found Giles-Sans apartment?" Sita asked.
"We can walk there from here," Mika said, "but we don't want to walk back to our motel tonight in the dark."
"Do we have Buffy's number?" Sita said. "It would be best to get an invitation than to just show up."
"I don't," Yuki said. "When would she give me her number? It was Sita she was sparing with."
"Phonebook?" Mika said.
"She lives in a dorm," Yanzy said. "We can ask tonight if she comes to the Bronze."
"Are we playing there tonight?" Yuki said.
"There was a message at the desk when we left," Sita said. "We may be playing." "So the other band hasn't found its instruments yet?" Yanzy said.
"It appears so," Sita said.
"What do we do until then?" Yuki said. "The other occult shop was closed due to a death in the family."
"I'd like to see that mausoleum again," Mika said. "Find out what was in it."
"There are twelve other cemeteries," Yanzy said. "Check them all out?"
"Did any of them register on the scanner?" Sita said.
"No," Yanzy said.
"We could check out the high school. I've never seen a Hellmouth, in the sim or in real life," Yuki said.
"Art gallery?" Mika said, glancing inside as they passed one.
"Art gallery? Why?" Yuki said. "It's just full of paintings and sculptures. Art."
"And Buffy-san," Mika said, stopping.
"That is a different definition of art," Yanzy said. "Unless that is the kind of art Sita is interested in?"
"We are not talking about my preferences in art," Sita said. "Or other things."
"Do we go in?" Yanzy said. "They look like they are having a private conversation."
"Children," Sita said, grimacing. She pulled open the door and went it, with the others following her like ducklings. Once inside, she looked around for a few moments, waiting to be noticed by Buffy and the taller blonde woman.
"Go, talk to her," Yuki whispered, pushing her forward into the gallery.
"Can I help you?" The woman said, looking them over.
"Pardon," Sita said, "We wished to speak with Buffy-San about an important matter."
The woman raised an eyebrow, giving Buffy a curious look.
"Right," Buffy said, "we can do that. Outside?"
"Espresso Pump?" Yuki said eagerly.
"She's become addicted to their muffins," Mika said. "If she keeps eating them we'll have to get a bigger van."
"They're good," Yuki said. "There's something magical about them."
"No," Buffy said, glancing at the woman. "Nothing magical about them. Just ordinary muffins."
"Don't forget," the woman said. "Dinner on Sunday."
"I won't forget, Mom," Buffy said. "And I'll tell Willow and the gang."
"Good. You know my number if you need me for anything," she said, dismissing her.
"Yes. Mom," Buffy said. Shaking her head she led them out of the gallery. "So, coffee?" She said, appearing slightly embarrassed.
"It is not necessary," Sita said.
"The two of you can get coffee later," Yuki said, smirking. "But first business."
"Business?" Buffy said, clearly puzzled.
"Your mentor was recommended as a source for information," Sita said.
"Mentor? Oh, Giles?" Buffy said. "He can be that, though he has tea, not coffee."
"And books?" Mika said.
"I can introduce you, if you want," Buffy said. "He should be home."
"Our van is down the street," Yanzy said, waving towards the parking lot they'd parked in.
"Van, right," Buffy said, turning and walking with them to their van. "I wouldn't recommend this after dark," she said, grimacing. "Vamp fishing spot."
"Fishing spot?" Mika asked, pulling the van door open.
They all climbed into the van, Yanzy taking her accustomed spot behind the wheel, Yuki riding shotgun, and Mika making room for Buffy between herself and Sita. Buffy quickly gave Yanzy directions, before settling back.
"The dumb ones wait for people leaving the theater or nearby shops after dark," Buffy said. "Keeping them under control is like dealing with cockroaches. Squash one and two more show up."
"Ah." Mika said. "Sita is good at blessings to keep demons out of places."
"That could be useful," Buffy said, "but the owner is a demon so it wouldn't work out too well."
"There are a lot of demons in Sunnydale," Mika said. "Usually they stay out of sight. Here they seem to run business."
"The former mayor encouraged them," Buffy said. "Guess he wanted some demony minions when he turned into one himself. The vampires are just pests. The other demons don't like them."
"So no one would mind if we happened to eliminate any we ran into?" Yuki said. "Well, I don't recommend it as a Sunnydale visit highlight," Buffy said. "Vampires in Sunnydale are supposed to be tougher and more vicious than elsewhere. Giles says it's the Hellmouth. Attracts them and gives them a boost."
"We will not encroach on your territory," Sita said. "We will only deal with them in self defense."
"Not territorial," Buffy said, protesting. "It's just bad for the Chamber of Commerce if visitors get eaten. And my Mom is trying to get elected to be the president now that the mayor isn't around."
"That's why I like the traveling band lifestyle," Yuki said, joining their conversation. "No politics."
"There are still politics," Mika said. "You just ignore them and leave us to deal with keeping the locals happy."
"I don't," Yuki said.
"What about those sparkly demons up north? Some kind of vampire?" Mika said. "You killed one and then we had to deal with the wolves and the mess."
"They were annoying," Yuki said. "They were eating innocent deer. How does that make them vegetarians?"
"Vegetarian vampires?" Buffy said. "You're not serious?"
"They claimed to be vampires," Mika said.
"And they sparkled in sunlight," Yuki said. "Good riddance."
"Doesn't sound like any vampire I've ever heard of," Buffy said, frowning.
"The local werewolf pack wasn't happy with them," Mika said. "Some girl got involved with them. It was messy."
"Do you deal with a lot of things like that?" Buffy said, as they pulled over next to a small apartment building. "Traveling sounds interesting but the few times I've gone out of town it didn't turn out well."
"It is rarely boring," Sita said.
"Except for the traveling part," Yuki said. "Too much time in the van with the occasional outlaw demon bar to reduce the monotony."
"Are there many of those?" Buffy asked. "We have several demon bars in Sunnydale but it's mostly locals."
"Not anymore," Yuki said, smirking.
"She exaggerates," Mika said. "We've only run into three of them, and they were still standing when we left."
"We don't go looking for them," Yanzy said. "But if we find one it seems appropriate to check them out."
"They are not appreciative of our style of music," Sita said. "Most demons seem to not be fans."
"It doesn't go over well with the management if we chase away all of their paying customers, so we rarely play in demon bars," Mika said, grinning. "Unless we don't find out their customers are demons until after we start."
"It can be amusing," Yuki said, "to watch a full club empty out in minutes after we start playing."
"But not very profitable," Yanzy said. "Can't buy gas or food if we don't get paid."
"So, it's just the four of you out on the road? No support?" Buffy asked. "Who told you about this Gem of Amara?"
She paused to open the door to Giles apartment and shouted in "Hey Giles, are you decent?"
"Of course," a male voice said, his upper class British accent drifting out into the courtyard. "What brings you here? Shouldn't you be in class?"
"Eh," Buffy said. "Wasn't feeling very scholarly today. Parker was being all avoidy."
"Parker?" Giles said, stepping aside to let her in.
"A boy," Buffy said. "The usual. He invited me to a party on Friday. Might go."
"I see," Giles said. "And who might this be?"
"Friends," Buffy said. "Sita, Mika, Yuki, and Yanzy. They played last night at the Bronze. Loud stuff, probably not your thing. They've got some awesome moves."
"And you brought them here, why?" Giles said.
"They're looking for something called the Gem of Amara," Buffy said.
"The Gem of Amara is a myth," Giles said. He went over to a stack of books and pulled out a slim volume. "A vampire Holy Grail, of sorts. There were rumors of its' existence several centuries ago, but no one ever found it."
"They were told it was in Sunnydale somewhere," Buffy said.
"And you are," Giles said.
"We are Kitsune," Sita said. "Our Elders believe this gem is here, and it should be dealt with."
"Kitsune? You're far from home," Gile said. "What brings you here?"
"You've heard of them? Of course you have," Buffy muttered. "They have a band, and showed me some interesting moves this morning at that T'Vok dojo you never let me go in."
"The T'Vok are not on good terms with the Council," Giles said.
"They said I could go back," Buffy said. "Though they probably meant only if I was with them. But they invited me back!"
"What can you tell us of this Gem of Amara?" Sita said, before they could get too far off track. "What is known of it?"
"Not much, honestly. The vampire who possesses it is claimed to be invincible, but it isn't explained how," he said. "If it exists and is in Sunnydale, we must find it."
"Spike is in town," Buffy said. "Think he's here for this gem? Doesn't seem like his thing."
"He is not to be underestimated," Giles said. "It is possible Drusilla saw it."
"Spike is that Billy Idol wannabe from last night," Buffy told them. "I don't think Drusilla was there last night. She has crazy visions or she's just crazy."
"Sita has visions, though not crazy ones," Yuki said. "Sometimes she even tells us about them."
"Most of them have no bearing on what we are doing," Sita said.
"I get dreams but they never make any sense," Buffy said.
"The Council has dream interpreters," Giles said.
"And they aren't here," Buffy said. "They're busy drinking tea and hiding in their London headquarters. Besides, Spike seems to have traded her in for Harmony, which I don't think is really an upgrade."
"Harmony Kendall?" Giles said. "Wasn't she a friend of Cordelia?"
"And now she's a friend of the night, and Spike," Buffy said. "So, how do we find this gem?"
"There are a large number of places it could be," Giles said. "Sunnydale contains a large number of hidden caches of mystical artifacts."
"Why is that?" Buffy said. "Why would anyone bury something like that in Sunnydale? Right. Hellmouth Town. Where else would someone bury their mystical who-gi-whatsit?"
"I will research the location of the gem, but it is not likely to be written down," Giles said.
"We could find Spike and ask him?" Buffy said.
"That would be unwise," Giles said. "He would be one of the worst vampires to possess some unknown power."
"Maybe it'll turn him into a fluffy bunny?" Buffy said. "Probably a not so cuddly vampire bunny. Thats' a thing, right? Vampire rabbit?"
"Only in children's stories," Giles said, sighing.
"I was kidding," Buffy said. "So, you don't need us for this research party?"
"No," Giles said. "I'll call you if I discover anything."
"You're awesome," Buffy said, blowing him a kiss. "We'll let you get to it."
"Domo arigato," Sita said, bowing to him as the others left. "We appreciate the effort on our behalf."
"Dealing with the Gem of Amara is something we can agree is important," Giles said.
"Where to now?" Yanzy said, once they were all back in the van. "Can we take you somewhere?"
"A ride back to the campus would be helpful," Buffy said, looking at her watch. "I have a class in an hour. Probably shouldn't miss it. Or be late."
Yanzy nodded, starting the van and pulling out onto the street.
"You're going to come to the Bronze tonight?" Yuki said. "Then you and Sita can have your coffee date afterward."
"Coffee date?" Buffy said, turning to look at her.
"Yes. You go have coffee and casual conversation," Yuki said. "Or maybe go demon hunting first?"
"Yuki," Sita said, glaring at her.
"We can do something after," Buffy said, giving them a puzzled look. "Need to check out a couple graves, in a non-grave robbing kind of way, of course. Willow has this whole thing where she tracks possible vampire risings."
"Very efficient," Yanzy said. "I'd be curious to see how she does that."
"Yanzy is our tech person. She's good at finding things out," Yuki said.
"Except that gem," Yanzy said. "None of my usual techniques worked to find that. It's probably shielded by something."
"Underground," Mika said.
"Sunnydale has an extensive collection of tunnels," Buffy said. "Some of it natural. And some of it buried by earthquakes over the years."
"So it is probably underground, and not in some spooky mansion?" Yuki said. "That is disappointing. I was looking forward to a nice warm mansion to search, instead of some dank cave."
"We do have mansions," Buffy said, "but they usually fall down when there's an earthquake. Or they're inhabited."
"A shame," Yuki said, frowning.
"Well, this is me," Buffy said, when Yanzy stopped across from the campus entrance. "So I'll see you tonight?" She said looking mainly at Sita. "Even if you aren't playing?"
"Yes," Sita said. "We will be there."
"Good," Buffy said, smiling. "And I should go. Wouldn't want to miss class."
"Of course," Yuki said, smirking.
"She's cute," Yuki said, watching Buffy walk away. "Definitely need to experiment with the whole sim sex thing."
"And we are not doing any experimenting," Sita said. "This is a sim. Everything is controlled by the pod AI's. It is not real."
"That blush looks real," Mika said. "But is not relevant to the task at hand. We need to find that gem before this Spike does."
"Not new information," Yuki said. "We've known that from the beginning. At least we don't have to guess who will have it."
"Knowing and accomplishing are not the same thing," Mika said. "While you try to set Sita up with a sim of a magical girl demon hunter, we need to find that gem and end this sim."
"If this Spike is looking for it, we just need to find him and grab it when he finds it," Yuki said. "Not complicated."
"And not simple," Yanzy said. "If it makes him invulnerable, how do we get it?"
"We'll think of something," Yuki said. "But we need to know what it is first."
"It's something wearable," Sita said. "It'll be carried on his person."
"You had a vision of it?" Mika said.
"No," Sita said. "Just a feeling."
"We'll need more than a feeling," Mika said. "If we don't know what it is how do we take it from this Spike?"
"Why take it away? Just kill it," Yuki said. "Do we know what happens to a vampire's possessions when they are dusted?"
"They turn to dust with the vampire," Yanzy said. "There's probably a logical reason for that to happen but I don't have any access to research. If we asked nicely, Mr. Giles might tell us."
"We don't have time for this research," Sita said.
"We don't have a large enough sample to say for sure, but I can't see this gem being destroyed if we destroy him," Mika said, opening the van door when Yanzy came to a stop outside their motel rooms.
"Well, if it is meant to make a vampire invincible, it isn't going to be easy to destroy him to get it. We need another way," Sita said.
"A trap?" Yuki said. "Then set fire to it."
"Invulnerable with the gem," Sita said again. "Fire won't work. Anything in your bag of tricks?" she asked Yanzy.
"Unless a demonic creature has an electrical field that the scanner can disrupt, no," Yanzy said. "Or the gem can be disrupted by a high frequency? Hmmm, that has possibilities, though I'd need a magical gem to test with."
"Don't look at me," Yuki said, "I don't have any gems of any kind. And not any magical ones."
"It was a thought," Yanzy said. "If we get the gem we can test the idea but until then, it's just a theory."
"So, other ideas?" Sita said. "Realistic ones."
"Trap," Mika said. "Trap the demon and then grab the gem. And then it won't be invincible and we can deal with it."
"We may need help," Sita said. "We can destroy a demon, like one of these vampires, but trapping one will take more strength than we have, unless we are lucky,"
"We do have Mr Giles' phone number," Yanzy said. "Isn't he an expert in such things?"
Sita hung up the phone. "He said he can meet with us before tonight's gig," she said. "He said he may have an idea we can use, but in general vampires are not easily trapped without a lot of effort and danger."
"Good," Mika said. "We should take our tools with us. If his idea has merit we can test it tonight after we finish for the night."
"But Sita has her coffee date with Buffy afterward," Yuki said. "We can't do it then."
"I do not have a date," Sita said, blushing. "We are just going to have coffee and talk about things."
"Demon things? Date things?" Yuki said.
"They can get their coffee to go," Mika said, "and we can all test Mr Giles idea. I'm sure she will have some idea where we can find a test subject."
"That's not how a date should go," Yuki protested. "We'll be extra wheels!"
"Then find your own date," Mika said, "and it can be a double-date, with a demon killing experiment."
"I don't have time to find a date," Yuki said. "And all of the cute ones are taken already."
"It was your idea," Yanzy said. "And this is a sim, so it doesn't really matter. Even if it was a date, once we get the gem we'll leave."
"Which is rude!" Yuki said. "You can't just have one date and leave!"
"Well, next time we have a mission, a real one, you won't get distracted," Mika said.
"Gah!" Yuki said. "It's a sim. I was just trying to make things interesting. We're going to be meeting interesting people once we go back out on tour. Sita is going to meet interesting people, potential dating material."
"Concern yourself with your own dating prospects," Sita said. "When we're on a mission for the Serpent Clan is not the time to find this dating person."
"I'm never going to have a chance to date," Yuki grumbled. "Groupies give me hives. Who knows where they've been?"
"I thought we didn't have groupies?" Mika said, poking her.
"They hang out in chat groups on the internet," Yuki said. "Internet fans can be a bit intense. Talking about our music, our costumes, and other things."
"I did recommend that you stay away from such things," Yanzy said, poking her.
"I was just curious," Yuki said, grimacing. "I've never participated in any unofficial online activities, just the same things everyone else has to promote the band."
"Well, now you know better," Yanzy said. "And don't tell Kiki, I think that counts as corrupting our innocent idols."
"Innocent?" Mika said, laughing. "Not since she put a frog in her sister's bed before we went to the temple for training."
"It was an experiment," Yuki said, smirking. "It exceeded expectations."
"You were grounded for a week," Mika said.
"It was worth it," Yuki said. "You should have seen her face when she woke up and it was staring at her on her pillow."
"I'll take your word for it," Mika said.
"My word is always good," Yuki said.
