Laboured breaths were swept away with the wind as a figure climbed their way atop the main building of St Freya Academy. The young teens goggles kept their eyes from being damaged as they reached the top and settled down on the edge, staring out at the destruction that was devastating the entire island from the fight against the Herrscher of the End.
Everyone was gone. Everyone except for the reawakening Mei and himself.
Everyone was gone. They had all been snuffed out like ants before the supremacy of a God given human form.
'You promised...' His eyes drifted to a broken great sword on half buried under the rubble, he felt his blood boil as he heaved a large box off of his back and dropped it beside him, mechanical screeching echoed out as it shifted into the shape of an almost sniper-like gun.
'You said that we'd get to have ice cream again when this was done...' He let out a breath as he shifted himself behind the weapon and steadied it with his hands, an odd purple glow pulsed out from the weapons chamber as he shifted the guns direction and stared through the scope.
'When humanity was able to live normally again...' The scope centred on a white haired girl that floated above and watched Mei as purple lightning crackled across her form, golden wings keeping her afloat as her white and purple regal clothes were barely buffeted by the wind.
'Was that a lie?' A heavy hum began to emanate from the weapon as lightning, similar to Mei's, began to rumble from its core. His teeth ground against each other as it licked at his skin, honkai corruption slowly forming from where it touched him.
Weak. He had watched everyone slowly die ever since he was first saved by Kiana in Changkong City. The older girl getting him to safety after she had found him hidden in the maintenance room of Senba Academy's Highschool branch. He could barely even lift a pipe when they had left, he had still fought, but slowly as the group grew, he realised that he couldn't do anything for them.
His finger skirted the trigger as he focused solely on Kiana, his golden eyes that were normally hidden by his goggles seemed to glow. He only saw her as she watched Mei rise up. He saw the emptiness in her eyes that smothered the pain of a girl who was nothing but compassionate. He saw only the monster that had taken over her.
"Don't worry. When we meet your sister I'm sure we can train you up!" His eyes stung as his grip tightened on the weapon and he took a shuddering breath, the young teen barely being able to keep himself from dry heaving as he finally took aim at the head of the strongest person he knew besides his sister.
"I know you, you think you're weak. But, I'm the person who knows you best, when no one else can, you'll step up and do what needs to be done..." A flash of red hair entered his vision and soft golden eyes similar to his own stared back, his older sister stood on the air nearby for a moment, a simple nod was all he received before he blinked and the apparition was gone. "Kane!"
Kane finally squeezed the trigger, the honkai corruption burst across his form as the core within the gun pulsated, painting the area with a purple hue, the barrel of the gun split, lightning rippling across each rail in a rhythm. Between the rails the core slowly pulsed outwards and sat, ready to be fired at any moment.
A Railgun, powered by the Herrscher of Thunder.
"KIANA!" A roar tore its way from his throat, catching the attention of the Herrscher who shot their gaze from the ascending Mei to look towards the Cathedral where he lay. His finger clenched and a deafening boom echoed throughout his being as his entire being rocked. One second the core had been fired off, the next, Kiana was engulfed in a blast that shook the entire island.
His vision swam as the corruption began killing him, his eyes barely able to stay open as the blast cleared and an undamaged, unamused, Kiana stared back at him. Her empty eyes staring into his baleful own as he struggled to push himself up, he watched as an arm slowly came up from her side.
A tired sigh left him as his anger drained away and he sent her a small smile while he watched the power well up in her palm. He watched as her palm came forward and a scream echoed out, Mei.
'Finish this...' His last thoughts became nothing as he was completely eradicated along with the entire Cathedral and part of the island it sat upon.
X of X 2007, days after the Assault on Schicksal.
Otto Apocalypse.
The Overseer of Schicksal made his way into the lab of the Facility, his eyes taking in everything as he slowly made his way towards where a little girl was held within a vat of liquid. "I wonder if it's settled in yet, that Soulium I've placed within you." He gained no response from the motionless girl but he needed no other answers than the sight of her.
White hair that was slowly gaining streaks of blonde floated within the vat, proof that the alteration he had started to make were taking root. "To think, that loose cannon took a clone without realising his own daughter fell." Otto shook his head as he turned away from Kiana and chuckled, he initially had told Theresa that Kiana had been gravely wounded to keep her docile, claiming he was having her monitored and cared for until she would awake from her Coma, then he ultimately decided to use Fenghuang Down to erase her memories of Kiana Kaslana to make life easier.
"I'll need to implant memories into this child. A new name, a story that they can't question. An orphan, named Bianka... Ataegina?" He pondered over the name, as if tasting it before he nodded and summoned the Void Archives, it quickly took the form of Fenghuang Down as he reached out to the girl within the vat, a single feather formed and dropped onto her head, unhindered by the liquid. A flash of light engulfed everything and soon, he had found himself leaving the lab.
His trip to the command centre was swift, the route he took everyday seared into his brain as it allowed him to find his way there easily and without too much interference and when there was an interference, it got dealt with swiftl-
ALERT! ALERT! HONKAI ENERGY SURGE DETECTED! ALERT! ALERT!
One step. That was what Otto took into the command centre before red flashing lights blared across the facility alongside the perpetual announcements. '...' He took a calming breath and squared his admittedly small shoulders before bursting into action. "Report! Where is this surge occurring?" There was shouting across the room as people scrambled to look through the new readings, the first to finish was a younger scientist, they were flighty and shaking, sweat dripping from them as they shakily pulled up the readings onto the main screen.
"S-Sir! It says that the surge is he-" His answer came in the most migraine inducing way. The very sky above the facility tore open, the reading indicated that whatever was coming through had to have been at least Emperor Class and it was intent on tearing into reality brutally if the rapidly spreading cracks in the sky were an indication. "Shit." He ignored the scientists words as stepped closer to the glass that blocked him from stepping outside.
The black and pink energies seemed to reflect in his eyes as his gaze hardened, it was warping. The portal was shrinking and expanding as if something was being pushed out, not tearing its way through. Then it happened, a blast of energy surged from the portal and impacted the earth not too far from facility, scorching the rocky and snowy terrain a deep black.
'Interesting.' His eyes never left the portal as everyone around him shot around the room intent on getting any reading the system had picked up. 'How vexing.' He spoke internally as the portal gave one more twitch, his eyes widened as something was blasted out from the portal, it twisted and turned mid air, slamming through trees before impacting with the snow.
Without a second thought, being the only person that had noticed, he left the command centre and made his was out of the facility as fast as he could, Amber and Rita at his side as he trudged through the snow with a manic feverance.
As he broke into the woods he saw it, buried within the snow, something that could've been easily ignored if no one had been searching for it, a bloodied and broken child, he couldn't tell if their red hair was natural or was the way it was because of the impact. He couldn't tell if their condition was from the impact or from whatever had occurred on the other side of the tear they had been shot from, but he found himself kneeling down and lifting the child up as gently as he could.
There were markings across their body, honkai corruption that they had somehow survived. Their body was singed and judging from the barely rising chest, the child was on the brink of death.
"Very interesting indeed."
It seemed the young Kaslana wasn't the only intriguing thing that had dropped into his lap.
Otto smiled and began walking back to the facility.
Seems he would need to visit the lab again.
AN:
First things first! I don't own Honkai Impact 3rd or Honkai Gakuen 2nd (GGZ,) that belongs to and will continue to be a product owned by Mihoyo. The only character I own is the OC that will act as the protagonist.
Secondly, this is technically my first story written on this website! I'm hoping this actually turns out well in the long run, but I'm not expecting it to be too good since as stated, it's my first time writing this type of stuff.
Finally, if anyone has advice, please, don't be afraid to say it.
