He was sitting on the couch with a half-full beer when he heard a knock at the door. Puzzled, he looked at his watch. He wasn't expecting anyone, especially now that he was suspended and actually following the rules this time around, shocking everyone, including himself. He was trying to relax for once in his life.

He sighed as he went to open the door. Elliott peered through the peephole and took a step back, slightly confused. He opened the door, "Liv."

She looked slightly nervous and was wearing casual jeans and a navy blue cardigan, very unlike what he was used to seeing her in. "Hey, El."

They stared at each other for a moment, "Can I come in?" Olivia said after a long and awkward silence.

Elliott seemed to snap out of it, "Of course. Sorry." He stepped aside and let her pass. "Can I get you something to drink? Beer, wine, water, coffee?"

She glanced at his beer on the coffee table, "Beer would be great, thanks." She looked around the room as he went to grab one from the fridge. "What are you up to tonight?"

Elliott chuckled, "Honestly. Trying to relax. I'm not very good at it, though, so I'm going a little stir-crazy."

Olivia smiled, "Still on suspension?"

"Yeah, for another week. I'm trying to follow the rules this time," he handed her the beer and sat back down on the couch, motioning her to join him.

She sat down next to him and curled one of her legs underneath herself. "Wow. You are a changed man," she smirked at him. "I hope I'm not disturbing your relaxing night."

He cocked his head at her, "You are always welcome here, Liv. But why are you here?"

Olivia shifted and looked a little nervous, "Can't I just pop in to visit my old partner?"

"You can. You just normally don't." Elliott was drinking his beer too fast, just trying to keep his hands busy. He always felt comfortable with her, but her nervous energy was wearing off on him. He set his beer down on the coffee table. "What is it, Liv?"

"Do you remember the conversation we had in my kitchen about a year ago?" She forced herself to meet his gaze. "After you went to get Noah for me?"

"The one where you painfully turned me down?" he teased with a smirk. "How could I forget?"

Olivia lightly punched him on his arm, "I did not turn you down!"

"You kinda did," Elliott retorted with a chuckle.

"No, I just told you I wasn't ready. It was a 'not right now', not a 'never'," Olivia took a long swig of beer.

"Okay, so it was a temporary rejection. I stand corrected. What about it?" he met her eyes.

"Well, I just thought I would stop in and let you know…..I'm ready," Olivia looked down, afraid to see his reaction.

Elliott wasn't sure if he heard her right, "You're ready?"

"Look, I know it's been a while, and maybe you have moved on, or you aren't interested anymore. But I'd regret not trying."

"What are you saying, Captain Benson?" Elliott was teasing her again, grinning at her from ear to ear.

Olivia cleared her throat, her nerves getting the best of her. "Elliott Stabler, would you like to go on a date with me?" she glanced up at him, holding his stare. She was trying to look more confident than she felt.

Without saying a word, Elliott got up and grabbed his beer bottle along with hers. He tossed them in the trash and went towards the door.

Olivia sat on the couch, shocked and confused. He looked back at her, "Come on."

"What? Where are you going?"

"Out to dinner. I'm not giving you a chance to back out. Have you eaten?" he grabbed his keys and held the door open for her.

"Um, no, but I'm not exactly dressed for dinner," she looked down at herself.

"Me neither," he was wearing jeans and a hoodie. "I know a place we will fit right in."

"So that's a yes to the date?" she asked, not able to keep herself from smiling.

Elliott smiled back at her, "Of course it's a yes. Let's go before you chicken out."
