Harry's Greatest Wish
Harry James Potter is now thirty-five years of age, and eighteen years have passed since the last wizarding war and by coincidence the date is the 2nd of May 2016, the 18th anniversary of the worst day of Harry's life.
As each year goes by, Harry makes it a point to sit at the window and look up at the night sky and look at Sirius the dog star, the brightest star in the sky, he feels his eyes well up with tears and he cannot help but sob heartily.
The Potter family is a happy family which consists of Harry himself, Ginny Potter nee Weasley, James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter, and Lily Luna Potter. He is also the Godfather of the young metamorphagus, Teddy Remus Lupin who has lived with the Potter family since his Grandmother Andromeda 'Andi' Tonks nee Black died ten years previously.
Despite having a large family and many good friends including Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood and the Weasley family, he can't help but feel alone and in a moment of desperation, he looks up again at the dog star and makes a heart-breaking wish, but little does he know, that wish is about to come true and Harry will get what he has always wanted and a lot more besides.
Harry later goes to bed, completely oblivious to the big surprise that awaits him the very next day.
Harry James Potter wakes up early the next day and he is preparing to leave the house to go to work when through the window comes a patronus, in the shape of a Lynx, bearing a message from the permanent Minister for Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt.
The Patronus turns towards Harry, speaks in Kingsley's voice, and conveys a message stating, "Harry, there is an issue at the ministry, can you come as soon as you can?"
At which point another Patronus, enters the room, this time taking the form of a Tabby Cat, carrying a message from Headmistress Minerva McGonagall, and speaking with her voice proceeds to say, "Harry, something has happened at Hogwarts, you need to come here as soon as you can."
With a look of confusion and bewilderment, Harry first floos to the Ministry of Magic and in true Harry Potter fashion, stumbles unsightly and crashes to the ground in a typical Harry manner. Grumbling to himself, Harry quickly gets back on his feet and is surprised to come face to face with Kingsley Shacklebolt, the Minister for Magic and Harry's boss who proceeds to say, "You should prepare yourself for a rather large shock, I'm afraid. We should probably take this to my office,"
A bit bewildered, Harry follows Kingsley through the long winding corridors to his office where he will have returned to him everything that he has always wanted and the only thing he has ever wanted, a family of his very own.
At first when Harry enters the office, it is just himself and Kingsley present. Kingsley clears his throat and tells Harry "This is going to be quite a shock, Auror Potter, I suggest that you take a seat, after all I do not want you to faint."
Once Harry is seated, the Minister stands up and heads for the door but before opening the door, turns and says to Harry, "Behind this door is a shocking but pleasant surprise." Harry is facing in the other direction, not paying any attention, and feeling utterly bewildered, wondering just what is going on. In the meantime, Kingsley has opened the door and begins to speak.
He says, "Do come in, Sir, but if you can wait in the corner, he points to a dark spot in the corner of the room containing a chair, if you wait here until I call for you that would be great."
The man waits patiently in the corner as Kingsley walks forward to chat to Harry and prepare him for the best surprise he could ever wish for.
Meanwhile in the graveyards of Little Hangleton and Godric's Hollow respectively, three people awaken as if from a very long sleep.
The young couple in Godric's Hollow are the first to awaken and their names. James and Lily Potter. Over in Little Hangleton, a short time later, a teenager awakens and his name? Cedric Diggory!
Getting up, James and Lily apparate to Hogsmeade and Cedric summons the Knight bus.
While Harry is at the ministry being prepared for the big surprise, at Hogwarts, Minerva McGonagall, the Headmistress feels a rush on the wards.
Minerva runs out of the gate and stops short at the sight that stands before her. Just as she is about to faint at the shock, James, and Cedric rush forward to catch her before she falls, while Lily hastily conjures a chair.
Meanwhile, at the ministry of magic, Kingsley sits down next to Harry and nervously tries to explain the new and unexpected circumstances to the now worried head Auror.
Frowning in annoyance, Harry says in a manner reminiscent of an angry Molly Weasley, "Kingsley Shacklebolt, tell me what is going on right now or I will march right out that door," pointing furiously in the direction of the door in question.
To himself, Kingsley thinks, "No time like the present," While muttering under his breath about infuriated head aurors.
Turning back to Harry, he says. "Harry, there is a reason for my nervousness,"
At this statement, Harry raises his eyebrows and says, "Well? What is going on?"
Kingsley replies, "Harry, there have been random returns from the dead, and the good news is that one of the returnees is none other than Sirius Black, who is now a free man by the way."
At which point, Harry keels over and collapses in a dead faint. As this happens, Kingsley signals for Sirius to come forward and cast eneverate on his Godson. Kingsley makes a hasty retreat to give them their private time and in Siri's case a taste of freedom for the first time in twenty years.
Sirius takes out his wand and casts eneverate on his thirty-five-year-old Godson, who awakens and starts to cry tears of joy and clings to his beloved Godfather for dear life.
Meanwhile, back at Hogwarts, Minerva looks up in joy and suspicion at the sight that stands before her. She reaches into her desk and withdraws several vials containing the truth potion known as veritaserum.
Before she can begin the questioning process however, there comes a knock on the door and the Herbology professor, head of Gryffindor and Deputy Headmaster, one Neville Francis Longbottom enters followed by five more returnees.
First through the door is Fred Weasley followed by Remus Lupin, his wife, Nymphadora "Tonks" Lupin, Severus Tobias Snape, and Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.
Shortly afterwards, the door opens again and in walks Dobby a very heroic house elf, Hedwig a snowy Owl, Harry's Loyal friend and Companion, and behind them, sixteen-year-old Colin Creevey.
Meanwhile, at the Ministry of magic, Sirius sat on the floor beside his sobbing Godson giving him the hugs and reassurance that he has missed for the last twenty years.
Kingsley has just sat down in his chair in his outer office when there is a knock on the door and on Kingsley's distracted mutter of "Enter" the door opens and a young Auror by the name of Draco Lucius Malfoy steps through carrying many folders and documents and a whole crowd of people following in his wake.
First through the door is Amelia Bones followed by master Auror Alastor Moody, then the Prewett twins and Marlene McKinnon.
The door opens again and in walks Charity Burbage, Caradoc Dearborn, Broderick Bode, Bertha Jorkins, the entire Bones family, the Dumbledore family and finally Dorcas Meadowes.
Another knock on the door and much to Kingsley's surprise, the former death eater Regulus Black enters the room followed by the disgraced hero Peter Pettigrew.
Staring in shock, Kingsley sits there, mouth gaping like a fish out of water until someone taps his shoulder to get his attention, blinking madly to tear himself out of his shocked state, he summons his Lynx patronus, with a message to Minerva saying, "Bring yourself and any returnees to the ministry post haste."
With a sigh, Minerva gathers everyone up and goes to the fireplace and activates the floo and turns and says, "Come on, everyone, we have been summoned to the Ministry, let's go through the floo, everyone line up in alphabetical order".
At the ministry, Kingsley is prepping a room with chairs and many vials of veritaserum. A few minutes later…
He exits the room to absolute chaos, yelling and confusion from the crowd out in the hallway, frowning he lets out a whistle gaining the attention of the huge crowd outside.
It is clear to Kingsley that this is clearly a reward from magic to bring lost friends, family and loved ones back to life as a thank you to the heroes of the wizarding world for defeating the worst dark lord since Grindelwald.
