Brisk and Rocky were enjoying chili dogs.
Brisk more so, Rocky was still on his 1st while the older one was on his 6th.
"I keep telling my mum that we should have chili dogs for breakfast, dinner or supper. Just one of the three, but she says it's not a healthy diet".
Rocky gave his opinion. "I prefer ice cream, but chili dogs aren't bad. And in your mother's defence, she has a point".
Brisk tried to take a bite, only hitting his teeth together. "What in the world"? His chili dog was floating right in front of him. "I like jokes Rocky, but not when it comes to food, now please turn off, whatever invention you're using and give it back".
Rocky had his eyes closed when he was eating, only opening them when Brisk, began talking, he didn't hear a word and focused on the chili dog in the air.
"Come on give it back".
"Uh, Brisk I'm not doing anything".
The snack began moving away. "Hey! Where you going"? Him and the fox followed it and saw it land in the hand of a small cat.
"Get your own chili dog".
Brain saw the annoyed hedgehog, giving him a look. Looking at the hedgehog then the thing in his hand, Brain quickly ate the thing before the hedgehog could react.
Brisk tried to stop him but Rocky put a hand up, keeping the hedgehog in his place.
"Why did you steal that? It wasn't nice". Rocky was gentle with the scolding.
The cat got on his knees and began sobbing. "I was hungry, the food at the orphanage is awful".
Brisk stopped being angry hearing the word orphanage. This little guy is without parents. "It's okay, I'm not mad now that I understand why you did it. Here, let me buy you another one you can enjoy", he offered.
This time Brain could enjoy the food, since he didn't have to gobble it down. Rocky was a bit concerned. "Would you like us to walk you back to the orphanage".
"No thanks, I'll be fine, but thanks for the chili dog".
"If you're sure, then take care", Brisk said patting him on the back. The 2 left although they would have liked to do something nicer, but he seemed happy enough.
Brain went home now that his stomach was party satisfied, he was very thankful to those 2 nice guys
"Brain, you're back". The kangaroo smiled and patted him on the head. "Please let me knew when you leave, I was worried sick.
Brain nodded. "I'm sorry".
"It's fine, as long as you are safe".
Brain went to his room. He used his powers to levitate and throw a ball at the wall. He kept it going. There wasn't much to do. Now the director here meant well. When he could, they would get to go on trips and he found them really fun. But he was also lonely. Any friends he made would usually get new parents and he'd be lonely. He barely remembered his own. He spent nearly each day, wanting some loving family to give him a new home.
Today turned out to be boring, but the next day would be a huge turn in his life.
"Brain, please wake up".
"…Huh"?
"We got someone who expressed an interest in meeting you".
Brain who was only half awake, put on his boots and followed the director. Before them was a red furred fox. Auburn hair, a yellow bow and simple clothes. She gave him a kind smile. The Director introduced her. "This is Fiona Fox".
Brain gave a small wave, not able to come up with words.
Fiona knelt beside him. "I knew who your parents were".
Brain's eyes widened.
"Silver and Blaze were their names".
"Really"?
She nodded. "I can give you a home, if that's what you want. I have a daughter who could use a friend. You can be that friend. What do you say"?
He smiled. "That would be nice".
The Director took Fiona to sign papers to make it official.
As Fiona left with Brain in the car, Sleet was watching from a distance with binoculars. He suddenly spoke into a com. "Fiona has done as ordered. The cat is in the bag.
Fiona seemed like such a lovely person, so it surprised Brain to see where her house was. The neighbourhood looked quite odd. The people in this neighbourhood looked either scary or suspicious.
Brain held tightly onto Fiona's hand, afraid for his life.
Suddenly, a drone appeared, it scanned Fiona and Brain, before moving out of the way. "My daughter made that thing to look out for intruders. She is quite smart for her age".
When they got inside the house, they saw a fox. She looked similar to Fiona. Except for her twin tails. Her attire was a yellow dress, a black jacket and black and yellow sneakers. For some reason, she kept her head down. She didn't notice him. "Hi mom".
Fiona went to give her 11-year-old daughter a hug. She flinched before she realized what was happening.
"Felicity, calm down. Are you afraid of your own mother"? She turned back to Brain. "This is my brilliant minded daughter".
The cat waved. "I'm Brain, nice to meet you".
"Hi, I'm Felicity".
Fiona put her hand on her daughter's shoulder, making Felicity flinch again. Fiona muttered lowly enough that only she could hear. "Calm down or else". She then turned to Brain. Why don't you two, go play. I'll make us something to eat.
While they took off, Fiona's pleasant smile quickly disappeared. She could not believe that she had to babysit. One kid was bad enough. She didn't even want the first kid. Especially, because she knew that loser, Tails was the father. Had she known he was the father, Felicity would be aborted. She thought Scourge was the father, but her twin tails told her all she needed to know. Felicity was as smart as her father. Annoyingly smart. And that did make her useful.
