Those were the final words she ever told me before moving on to her new piece of meat.
From her cheating on me to my shitty job as an ice cream scooper, I'm done trying to seem normal to others.
I mean, I didn't even need a job but I got one to get away from my mother, who's the pure definition of a helicopter mom.
I love her and all but she always goes to the extreme and that's within any given situation where I or my sisters step out of the house.
Guess that's her way of making sure that we're safe but this all started when Dad died and I was very young when that happened.
All in all, she's more strict on me than my sisters and that's starting to get annoying.
That's why I'm going to meet up with a housing agent so I can get my apartment and hopefully get away from my mother.
Stepping inside the bus, I handed the driver the money required to get the ticket.
"Alright, you can go," The driver says as I then go sit down in the back of the bus.
"Well... looks like I finally found you, Nathaniel Silver." A voice chimes in as I look around and see that everyone is frozen in time.
Standing in front of me is a seven-foot-tall man, who looks like a carbon copy of Grant Gustin but has blue eyes instead of the usual green.
"I suppose so..." I trail off, looking around the empty void.
"I imagine you have questions on why you are here so I'm going to answer them briefly." He says.
"Right, why did you pick me of all people? Will you send me to hell if I refuse to hear what you have to say?" I ask him.
"I chose you because you seem interesting to me and no I will not send you to hell if you refuse to accept my offer." He answers easily.
This is... some absolute bullshit.
A guy like him needs MY help?!
You're better off asking which anime fandom is the craziest: Jujutsu Kaisen or Chainsaw Man.
Still... by hearing him out, I'll probably get some information on how he even managed to freeze time.
"Very well, at the very least I'll hear what you have to say," I reply after carefully thinking about it.
Like I said, I should at least hear what he has to say since he seems... interesting to say the least.
"Right, the reason why you're here is because I wanted to test the abilities of this item." He says, giving me a silver necklace.
The inlay is a meteorite with a gold line and next to the gold line, there's a green stone in the center with other colours to fill the necklace all around though the design is mostly flat and the metal is Tungsten.
"What can this thing do?" I ask, carefully inspecting it over before putting it on my neck.
In response, the item gleams a bright emerald green, which is only noticed by me and the mysterious man.
"Who knows? All that matters is that it's yours now and you can decide what you want to do with it." He says as time resumes and as I sit down, the man is now gone.
I stare at the necklace with interest.
Could this item truly help me like the man said it would?
Could it help me turn my life around?
It would be cool if I was able to control the minds of other people like with hypnosis for example.
In response to my small wish, the necklace continues to glow that same emerald green before I feel a rush of knowledge enters my brain.
Thinking nothing of it, I get off at my stop and walk home, music blasting in my ears.
"I'm home!" I shout, putting my shoes on the shoe rack and sitting on the couch that's nearby, still fiddling with the ring.
"Nate!" A voice calls out as I'm then tackled by a blur, revealing itself to be my twin sister, Laura.
Laura is one of the few people I'm close with, well apart from my ex before she cheated on me with that rando from college.
If I ever get the chance, I'll ruin both of these cunts' lives for thinking that I wouldn't get revenge on them for cheating on me.
Back to Laura though, she's very open and mature about some things in life but at times... it can get a little annoying.
Especially when it comes to certain social cues like respecting other people's boundaries like for example, limiting the number of times that you'd hug me.
Seriously, I had to hide a few times in my bathroom because she likes to hug me so much.
"How are ya doing Lulu?" I groan, prying her off of me but I get bitten by her, making me sigh as I have to wait 11 seconds before she lets go of me.
Once the customary 12 seconds are over, she lets go and I clean the dust off of my clothes in response.
"Great now that you're here since mom's working out and the others left so I've been alone all day. Come on, I have a few tricks I wanna try for Friday's match." Laura says, picking up her soccer gear and her soccer ball, wearing Addida clothes or as a mom likes to call it, her uniform.
Contrary to what people may think about Laura's place in the soccer world, she's one of the most skilled and aggressive players on the field, matching Ronaldinho in terms of skills and Sergio Ramos in terms of aggressivity.
The number of times she was given a yellow card is uncanny and don't even get me started on the number of times she flipped off a referee because she thought he was a sell-out.
"Hello? Are we doing this or what?" She asks, snapping her fingers as I'm brought out of my musings.
Her face is close to mine and the scent of her perfume flares up my nostrils due to how close we are.
"How about you let me rest for a few and I'll get back to you later?" I ask, sidestepping to the left before heading off to my room, which was oddly enough, next to my mother.
I suppose she saw this as a way of keeping an eye on me.
I enter my room and go lay on my bed.
I then fiddle my necklace for a few seconds and then I fall asleep.
