Chaotic Duels Pt 01.
(Chapter 04)
At the announcement of the new mission, Kaito, Luna and Shiro exchanged glances, all aware that the task ahead would be challenging.
Shiro, with a confident smile, looked at Nate and said.
"Let's do this, Nate. I propose a chaotic partnership for this 'Tag Duel of Chaos'. We'll need to synchronize our strategies to summon a monster of the dark attribute and one of the light attribute. I'm confident that we can win this challenge together."
Nate, analyzing the situation, nodded in agreement whilst thinking to himself.
'He really sounded like an excited 6 year old now, well, guess that's the world I live in now, might as well go full Yu-Gi-Oh freak'
Nate shrugged.
"I'm in. Let's show the other duelists the true meaning of chaos."
With renewed determination, the pair prepared their decks and Nate checked his two new cards, ready to take on the challenge of the 'Tag Duel of Chaos'. The atmosphere was charged with expectation, and the duelists around began to notice the formation of this unexpected alliance after the defeat of the top two, ready to take on the next challenge and prove that the combination of chaos, darkness and light would be unstoppable.
While Nate and Shiro adjusted their decks, Luna and Kaito watched in silence, sensing the tension and excitement in the air, Kaito, ever the pragmatic one, broke the silence with a wry smile.
"Who would have thought we'd have an alliance between darkness and light? And hadn't they become rivals? Sounds like a plot straight out of a fantasy story, doesn't it, Luna?"
Luna laughed, agreeing.
"It's definitely not what we expected when we started this journey, when they first met I could swear Nate was about to bash Shiro's head on the wall, but look at them now, all friendly. Boys sure are simple, but it's exciting to see how things unfold."
Meanwhile, Nate and Shiro exchanged cards from their Decks to their Side Decks and vice versa, also sharing strategies. The relaxed atmosphere began to dissipate the pre-duel tension, creating a friendly bond between the four of them.
Kaito looked at Luna with a mischievous expression in his eyes.
"I bet they'll end up messing each other up in the duel. Chaos has that effect, doesn't it?"
Luna laughed again.
"Chaos can be unpredictable, but sometimes it's exactly what we need to overcome challenges. Take Nate and Shiro as examples, Shiro is very predictable, but his strong moves are very difficult to stop, but some players, like yourself, have already stopped him some times... Nate, on the other hand, is completely unpredictable, but his moves are very simple. However, he piles up these simple moves as if they were steps, in such a way that when you least expect it, it seems that he is unreachable at the top of a mountain. So I'd say, let's see how this partnership pans out."
Luna concluded with a smile.
"I've realized that one turn too late, the way he ended the duel made it seem like me summoning my 'Lava Golem' was all he needed to win the duel, so frustrating."
Kaito said with a sigh.
"Dude! What the actual fuck is that deck? Where's The Eyes of Blue? I can only see Blue-Eyes and generic dragon support there, where are they Shiro?"
Nate shouted exasperatedly, completely cutting Kaito's epiphany mood.
"What do you mean? The Eyes of Blue is just because of Blue-Eyes."
Shiro said, confused.
"Damn, you guys need some urgent pro tips, let's go to a gacha…" - "ATTENTION DUELISTS! TOMORROW AT NOON, THE SYNCHRONIZED DUEL TOURNAMENT WILL BE HELD IN THE BATTLE CITY CENTER! REGISTRATION IS FREE, HOWEVER, THE PRIZES ARE PRAGMATIC! IN EACH TAG DUEL, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT, TAG DUELS! IN EACH OF THEM, DUELISTS WILL BET A CARD FROM THEIR MAIN DECK! HOW MANY CARDS CAN YOU WIN?"
Nate was abruptly interrupted.
"Wow, we need to enter this tournament. Battle City is the meeting point of the three regions with the best duelists: Slifer Red, Yellow Ra and Obelisk Blue."
Kaito said enthusiastically.
"The fuck you need. What you guys need is..."
Nate pointed to Shiro and Luna.
"Some booster packs."
He then pointed to Kaito.
"A completely new deck."
Nate concluded.
"Hey bro, don't be so hard on us."
Kaito asked deflated.
"I'm not being hard on you guys, I'm being realistic, and the question I have is, which is the most powerful of the regions?"
Nate wondered.
"Kaito said them in order of power, and our region is Slifer Red, before you ask."
Shiro explained.
"Not so bad actually, if he listed from strongest to weakest, we won't have so many problems, I guess."
Nate was a bit relieved.
"Actually... He listed from weakest to strongest…"
Luna said despondently.
"I can't with you guys."
Nate slowly placed the palm of his hand on his face.
"How the actual fuck you guys are top in this region with this kinda deck?"
Nate questioned.
"My deck is a three-star deck."
Luna justified herself.
"Four-stars! Burning!"
Kaito proudly announced.
"Bue-Eyes is a five-star deck. It doesn't need booster packs."
Shiro said sulkily.
"You could argue, like the meanies in the other regions, that the reason is the amount of simple decks here, since Yellow Ra mostly has two-star and three-star decks and Obelisk Blue mostly has four-star and five-star decks."
Luna attempted to explain.
"And we have the explanation…"
Nate facepalmed again.
"Let's go for a gacha now! I have until tomorrow for you to become real duelists, the three of you will be dueling with me, against me, all of you. 12,000 life points against 4,000 life points, we'll only stop when you manage to beat me at least once."
Nate exclaimed.
"Wow, easy there my guy, you may be strong, but there's no way you could have seen the true potential of our decks in a single attempt to be saying that we need to change something, besides, you couldn't possibly win a Boss Duel against us."
Kaito tried to convince Nate.
"A Boss what?"
Nate asked, confused.
"You see, my rival, while I have no doubt that you can take us on in a Boss Duel, you still haven't seen the potential of my deck, I'll have to give Kaito that."
Shiro took part in.
"What the hell is a Boss Duel?"
Nate asked again.
"I've never dueled Nate, and in a Boss Duel I'd have help from Shiro and Kaito, guess I'm in."
Luna pondered but decided to join too.
"Seriously guys, what the fuck is a Boss Duel?"
Nate was puzzled.
"You really don't know? I thought you were joking."
Kaito provoked.
"Two or more duelists come together to duel against another duelist, the Boss, the life points vary according to the number of participants and are always in multiples of 4000 for both the challengers and the Boss, the turn order is always, challenger and then the Boss, another of the challengers and the Boss again, and so on."
Luna explained.
"These conditions are completely unnecessary."
Nate said.
"Hey, are you scared?"
Kaito provoked once again.
"Hahahahaha, that's a good one."
Nate laughed.
"I meant that I don't need the 12,000 life points, and I don't need to respond to each of your turns either, I'll start and then you three will have a turn, then I'll have my turn again."
Nate stated.
"Nate... Don't think I'll hold back against you, if you don't respond to my turn, you might not get another turn."
Shiro raged.
"As I said, Shiro, it's unnecessary, after we go through the gacha maybe, but in the current state of your decks, I only need one turn."
Nate shrugged.
"You'll bitterly regret those words Nate, there's no way we can lose with all this advantage, have you gone insane?"
Kaito was not only offended, he was furious.
"Try me, burn boy."
Nate said as he placed his deck on the duel disk.
"Now you've crossed the line you little bitch! I'm burning!"
Kaito enraged as he put his deck in his duel disk.
"Yes! Let the rage flow, what about you Brick-Eyes White Dragon?"
Nate provoked Shiro.
"That's what the Obelisk Blue assholes call me, now you've done it..."
Shiro was enraged and at the same time pale, as if Nate had brought up unpleasant memories.
"Guys...? This is getting a little too violent for me..."
Luna tried to back up.
"What? You afraid some new cards may actually make your grandpa's deck good?"
Nate revealed an evil smirk.
"You motherf..."
"Save it for the duel, sweetheart."
Nate interrupted.
And so Luna also put her deck on her duel disk.
SECRET MISSION GRANTED - TRUE BOSS DUEL
It was announced on all four duel disks at the same time.
"I get a mission for teaching you guys? It only gets better! Duel!"
Nate exclaimed.
Nate: 4000 - 12000 :Shiro, Luna and Kaito
Nate drew his five cards.
"Perfect, here, let me show you guys why one turn is more than enough."
Nate said with confidence as he glanced at his initial hand.
"First I'll discard a card to activate my 'Apprentice Illusion Magician's' effect and special summon her."
Nate said as he put a card from his hand in the GY and a young female magician wearing a purple outfit with gold and white accents, with long flowing blonde hair and a pointy purple hat appeared on the field.
(Apprentice Illusion Magician)(Level 6)(Dark)(Spellcaster)(ATK/DEF: 2000/1700)
"When she hits the field, she let me add a 'Dark Magician' from my deck to my hand."
Nate explained as he picked a card from his deck.
"Now I'll set three cards and end my trun, go on guys, do your best."
Nate said with a smirk.
"I'll go first for some burning damage, this will be quick, draw!"
Kaito said.
"Before you do anything, I'll activate my trap card, 'Magician Navigation'."
Nate said as his set card was revealed.
"It's effect allow me to special summon 'Dark Magician' from my hand and a Level 7 or lower Spellcaster from my deck."
Nate said as 'Dark Magician' appeared followed by a shadow version of himself, 'Magician of Dark Illusion'.
(Dark Magician)(Level 7)(Dark)(Spellcaster)(ATK/DEF: 2500/2100)
(Magician of Dark Illusion)(Level 7)(Dark)(Spellcaster)(ATK/DEF: 2100/2500)
"It's just like last time, and just like then, I'll activate 'Tremendous Fire' to heat things up!"
Kaito enthusiastically put the Spell Card on his duel disk.
"Not this time, I'll activate 'Magicians' Combination'."
Nate announced and two cylinders apeared on top of the activated card, then 'Dark Magician' was suctioned by one of them.
"By tributing my 'Dark Magician' I can special summon 'Dark Magician Girl' from my graveyard and negate your card's activation."
Nate concluded and 'Dark Magician Girl' was expelled from the other cylinder.
(Dark Magician Girl)(Level 6)(Dark)(Spellcaster)(ATK/DEF: 2000/1700)
"And since 'Dark Magician' is in the graveyard, 'Dark Magician Girl's' attack goes to 2300."
Nate said as Kaito's Spell card was destroyed after it's activation being nagated and 'Dark Magician Girl's' attack increased.
"Damn, I'll set a Monster, set two cards and end my turn."
"My turn, draw!"
Luna drew her card and immediately smiled.
"I'll use 'Odd-Eyes Fusion' from my hand!"
"Guess you guys don't know how Continuous Trap Cards works, I'll activate 'Magicians' Combination' once again."
Nate interrupted Luna.
"Wait what? You can do this every turn?"
Luna seemed confused as 'Dark Magician Girl' gave place to 'Dark Magician' and her Spell Card was negated.
(Dark Magician)(Level 7)(Dark)(Spellcaster)(ATK/DEF: 2500/2100)
"You... Then I'll activate 'Trade-In'."
Luna hissed as she discarted one card and drew another one.
"I'll set a Monster and a card and end my turn."
"C'mon guys, where's your deck's potential?"
Nate teased.
"You keep negating it!"
And Luna fell for the tease.
"Don't let him get to you."
Shiro kept his cool and drew his card.
"First I'll send a 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' from my deck to the graveyard to special summon 'Dictator of Dragons' from my hand."
Shiro said as a humanoid adorned with dragon bones, wearing a red cape and holding a flute with a 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon's' head as ornament.
(Dictator of D.)(Level 4)(Dark)(Spellcaster)(ATK/DEF: 1200/1100)
"Aren't you gonna negate that, Brick Magician?"
Shiro retorted.
"That was actually a nice one, you must be proud of yourself. But negating that is just dumb, why would I waste my negate on the special summon of a level 4 monster? You could just normal summon it, that would be a waste."
Nate shrugged.
"I see... In that case I'll activate his effect, by discarding my 'Blue-Eyes Alternative Dragon' I can special summon my 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' from my graveyard."
Shiro discarded a card as Nate interrupted.
"You know I won't let you do that don't you?"
Nate said as once again 'Dark Magician' gave place to 'Dark Magician Girl' and the effect trying to be used was negated.
(Dark Magician Girl)(Level 6)(Dark)(Spellcaster)(ATK/DEF: 2000/1700)
"Gotcha, I normal summon 'The King of Dragons'."
Shiro laughed as his monster appeared.
(The King of D.)(Level 4)(Dark)(Spellcaster)(ATK/DEF: 1200/1100)
"Now, to activate it's effect, by discarding a Magic card, it let's me add 'The Flute of Summoning Dragon' from my deck to my hand."
Nate smiled as Shiro made his play.
"My deck has many combos my rival! Now, from my hand I'll activate 'The Flute of Summoning Dragon' to bring my two 'Blue-Eyes' from the graveyard!"
Shiro announced his move with a flare in his eyes, Nate, however, started laughing as he took a card from his GY.
"Excellent bait, Shiro! I'll activate the second effect of 'Magician Navigation', after the turn it was sent to the graveyard and while I control a 'Dark Magician', I can remove it from play to negate an effect."
Nate said as he removed the card from play.
"But... How? You don't have 'Dark Magician'..."
Shiro was baffled.
"When 'Magician of Dark Illusion' is on the field, his name becomes 'Dark Magician'. Now, I'll activate my last set card, 'Eternal Soul', I'll use it's effect to bring 'Dark Magician' back from my graveyard.
(Dark Magician)(Level 7)(Dark)(Spellcaster)(ATK/DEF: 2500/2100)
"So, no Rank 4 in the Extra huh? What else you got?"
Nate taunted Shiro.
"Shut up, I'll set a card and end my turn."
Shiro said sullenly.
"Eh? Where's the potential you guys?"
Nate teased once more.
"You'll see next turn!"
"My deck is reactive!"
"You negated it!"
Shiro, Kaito and Luna answered in unison.
"All I hear are excuses."
Nate said harshly as he drew one card.
"I told you my deck is reactive, asshole! I activate 'Ring of Destruction' to destroy your 'Dark Magician'!"
Nate smiled and Luna activated a card.
"I'll chain and activate 'Call of the Haunted' to bring back my 'Odd-Eyes Advance Dragon' from the graveyard!"
Luna exclaimed.
"Very nice guys! I'll also participate, as chain 3 I reveal 'Palladium Oracle Mahad' from my hand to special summon it, I'll also chain 'Eternal Soul' to add a 'Dark Magic Attack' from my deck to my hand."
Nate said laughing as he picked a card and a humanoid with golden armor, a white cape and a golden rod appeared.
(Palladium Oracle Mahad)(Level 7)(Light)(Spellcaster)(ATK/DEF: 2500/2100)
Then a huge red dragon with pointy bones adorning his body appeared in Luna's field.
(Odd-Eyes Advance Dragon)(Level 8)(Dark)(Dragon)(ATK/DEF: 3000/2500)
After that, a giant ring full of granades appeared around 'Dark Magician' and exploded, lifting a big dust cloud.
"Now well both take damage equal to your monster attack, but we have 12000 Life Points!"
Kaito said confidently.
"Yes, very cleaver, but you must be wondering why I didn't activated 'Magicians' Combination' at any of your cards..."
Nate said in a pragmatic tone.
"Oh shit..."
Kaito said quietly after the smoke and dust settled and 'Dark Magician' was still there.
"While 'Eternal Soul' is on the field 'Dark Magician' is unaffected by any of your cards."
"That's quite OP."
Luna commented.
"It's just like my 'True Light', except that mine only prevents you from targeting my 'Blue-Eyes', non-targeting effects can still be quite a pain."
Shiro added.
"Once again, all I hear are excuses, it may be true that I haven't seen your deck's potential yet, but I was pondering, what would make you guys think you have seen mine?"
