The Original and The Wizard
Chapter 4
The Sun and The Moon
AN: This story is a Harry Potter crossover with The Vampire Diaries, Twilight and whatever else may appear.
WARNINGS: This will be a somewhat very AU story. There will be time line changes of course, with location changes thrown in the mix too and at some stages, time jumps. That is the beauty of fan-fiction, you can change it to suit your own little twisted tale. There will be NO slash. This will be OOC.
I will be forthcoming with a heads up that my style of writing will be somewhat of a difference throughout my story from chapter to chapter, and even within them, as the progress of time changes throughout history.
Alas, it's also for the joys of being able to experiment in the world of fanfiction. Notwithstanding the fact that, I, obviously was not there in the ways of conversation back from a thousand years ago. But I purely wish to explore and play with it a little, if not; a lot.
Enter at your own risk!
And most importantly, I hope you enjoy the ride with me.
Pairings will develop throughout the story, but more in the later chapters than the earlier ones.

Late 1200 A.D – Late 1400 A.D
The last 200 years had seen the Mikaelson's travel the world, staking their claim on pieces of land here and there.
They had seen empires come and go, small wars play out that they had not involved themselves with, landscapes changed by human's as villages grew and the years trickled by.
Meeting Muggle and Magical folk along the way. Informing the Magical children about Hogwarts as they had promised, encouraging their families to allow them to attend.
Throughout their travels, Niklaus, along with his family, had scoured for any sign of the Moonstone he required in order to break his hybrid curse. Over the centuries, although they had settled sometimes for a short while and other times for a number of years, the quest was never too far from Niklaus' thoughts no matter which side of the world they would end up.
Sometimes it was put on hold, for a number of reason's. But in the end, Niklaus' siblings never failed to help him continue in his search.
It became so bothersome for Niklaus, as he chased whispers and hints over the world of such a talisman, that in the end he had formed a plan with Elijah to help them in his quest.
A century ago, they had together, written a scroll about an imagined Sun and Moon curse.
They had witnessed over the years, as whispers of the growing Vampire populations reached the ears of the werewolf packs all over the world, a deep rooted hatred that had begun to manifest between the two species.
Niklaus suspected that not all of his true Father's pack had been slaughtered all those centuries ago. It was the only explanation as to how word had spread throughout the world of Mikael being the monster that had been responsible for the death of a great man.
Niklaus hoped that using that knowledge to his advantage, amidst the two warring sides, would entice both creatures to hunt for the stone.
Using their desires to eliminate each other or at the very least be better situated against the other, Niklaus was patient to see whom would be the first to find it, and in turn, the Moonstone would inevitably, belong to him.
His loyal Vampire spies were scattered all over the world. Instructed on how to send him a message if only just the slightest whisper of the Moonstone or Doppelganger were to be heard.
Niklaus, over the centuries, had also gained friendships amongst various wolf packs. They had been wary about him at first, understandably so, but once he had explained as to whom his Father had been, it was a much easier task to gain their trust.
Niklaus despised pity, but was willing to put his own feelings of distaste aside for the benefit of his goals.
He surmised, it may be the only good thing that would come out of the senseless murder of his Father.
The first place he had looked, when it had all first started after the truth had been revealed, was the home they grew up in, thinking that their Mother would not have had time to hide it anywhere else. Now knowing what they do about magic, however, led Niklaus to believe she may have hidden it, one way or another, anywhere in the world.
After a century more of what felt an eternity of waiting and searching, Niklaus had finally received word that a werewolf pack had stumbled upon a magical talisman, one that had reflected the description of the highly sought Moonstone.
That was now what saw the Mikaelson's aboard a merchant ship journeying once more across the Atlantic ocean.
Back home to the Old World.
After heading North East for several weeks, the Mikaelson's were now heading South West through the North Sea in order to reach the ports of Edinburgh.
Knowing that they were now getting closer to their destination, the Mikaelson's were resting uncomfortably upon a few empty barrels on the deck above the forecastle.
"What is that?" Rebekah suddenly asked, eyes squinting as she pointed ahead of them. A hint of fear tinting her voice as it was drowned by the sound of crashing waves. Surprised, Niklaus turned to look at his sister, wondering what could possibly make her sound scared. It was not a tone he had heard from her since she had been human.
His eyes followed in the direction she was pointing, and it was only then Niklaus had noticed they were no longer heading South West, but now had started drifting South East.
Through the darkness of the night, the twinkling stars above offering little light for comfort, Niklaus could see the silhouette of a lone tower perched high upon a jagged island. A visible solid darkness standing in contrast against the surrounding sky.
"I know not!" Elijah replied, worry etching his tone.
"Are we heading for it?" Kol asked no one in particular, equally disconcerted.
Niklaus slowly shook his head in silence, dark blue eyes narrowing as he studied the black mass ahead. He was none the wiser for the lack of information. "I best go find the captain and see what he knows!" He frowned.
Making his way down to the main deck, Niklaus walked straight along the hull of the ship and towards the wheel on the Quarterdeck. "What are you doing?" He asked sternly upon reaching the men. Noticing how they all seemed to be staring blankly straight ahead, as not one of the men deigned to either look at him or answer.
Elijah, Rebekah and Kol coming up close behind him.
"Excuse me, but where are we going?" Asked Rebekah more kindly, hoping a calmer approach would receive a response. Shooting Niklaus a meaningful glance as she stood by his side.
It had the desired effect. "We must go this way 'ere to reach Edinburgh!" The Captain answered gruffly. Still not looking at either one of them. The other crewmen absently nodding in agreement.
Elijah and Niklaus shared a look before Elijah addressed the surly man. "Sorry Captain, but we are going in the wrong direction, we need to be heading South West, not South East." He frowned, taking a step closer to the man.
If Niklaus did not know any better, he would say the crew had been Confunded. Or perhaps placed under the Imperio curse. But Niklaus did know better, and knew there was no such Witch or Wizard aboard the ship other than the four of them.
"We must go this way 'ere to reach Edinburgh!" He repeated blankly.
"We are heading straight for the dark tower, mate!" Snarled Kol throwing his arms in the air in frustration, before narrowing his brown eyes and waving a hand in the face of one of the men standing to the Captain's side.
"There is no tower, only open water." The Captain answered in a monotone.
"Are you mad?" Kol sneered, "Have you lost your 'ere head." He mocked as he tapped softly on the side of the man's head. "There is a tower, and you are taking us straight to it."
"They appear to be enchanted?!" Rebekah interrupted softly. Peering over at her brother's eyes shining with doubt.
Elijah glanced at Niklaus. "They do not see it! That would either mean we are seeing things that are not truly there, or they are unable to see it." He said with emphasis, raising a brow meaningfully.
"If they are unable to see it, same as if it were Hogwarts, then why would they not be going away from it rather than towards it?" Kol asked sceptically.
Rebekah looked at Kol, before looking to the men, hesitating. "Perhaps, it is meant to enchant seaman to go towards it?" She said slowly.
"What would be the purpose of that, pray tell?" He stated rhetorically.
"I know not, Kol! I only ask how else do you explain it?" She said pursing her lips and shooting him a glare.
Ignoring his squabbling siblings, Niklaus turned to see how far from the tower they now were, and was glad to see they still had some time before reaching the craggy shores. He moved closer to the one holding onto the wheel, grabbing his chin in a vice grip, taking care so as not to break it, and forcing the man to face him. The other crewman showing no indication of noticing. "I must insist on you taking this ship South West... Now!" Niklaus growled softly, boring his dark eyes into the man's green ones as he manhandled him.
The usually meek man made no move to do as he was told. It occurred to Niklaus that they truly must be enchanted, but how, was now the question.
"It did not work!" Elijah whispered half-heartedly, his forehead creasing with worry.
"I have not ever seen it fail to work before." Kol stated, scrutinising the man more closely.
Niklaus quickly moved to the Captain, trying his compulsion on him, only to see the same results. "There is only one more thing we shall try, before throwing them overboard and commandeering this ship." He said seriously, belying his tone as the corner of his mouth quirked in a half grin at the thought. It would be amusing... until it was not.
Niklaus was willing to waste no more time as he allowed for his wand to drop into his hand from the holster upon his arm. Grasping his wand tightly as soon at it touched his palm and pointing it straight at the Quartermaster's forehead. "Imperio." He stated firmly with confidence.
The Quartermaster's eyes glazed over, being the only indication to show the success of it, his blank expression never wavering. Niklaus felt the tug at his mind as it connected with the other man's. "Take this ship South West... Now!" He commanded forcefully.
Without a word, the Quartermaster turned the wheel slightly, now heading in the right direction.
"We must go South East." The Captain demanded, grabbing hold of the wheel abruptly. That being the most animation they had seen from him since the strange occurrence began.
He kept trying to pull on the wheel, while the Quartermaster was tugging on the other side. The Captain's enchantment warring with the one Niklaus had performed on the crewman. Kol quickly retrieved his own wand and cast the same curse as Niklaus, pointing straight at the Captain's head.
Elijah and Rebekah rushing to do the same with the rest of the crew, lest they have onboard mutiny.
Finally making it to the ports, the Mikaelson's released the men of the curse they had placed upon them before departing the ship and her crew. The seamen naught the wiser for anything being amiss upon the events that got them thus far.
Making haste to leave the docks with all the intentions to head south once more pressing upon them.
The rumour of the Moonstone had lead them only forty leagues north of the town of London, and once Niklaus had the stone in his possession, the Mikaelson family wished to set their eyes upon the rumoured Wizarding bank of Gringott's they heard tales about.
They were surprised at how much London had grown since the last time they had visited the town, back then the land had been but an abandoned village, now it had grown to a town of thousands.
The Wizard's bank was not very far from the original stall of Ollivander's Wand's.
Ollivander's was just a stall no more, only now it was a small stone building. A long lonely stone lane connected the two buildings to one another, as but only a few Wizarding families traversed the path between the two.
Muggle's strolling past could not see what they were truly walking by. It never ceased to amaze Niklaus the wonders of Magical Charms.
The Wizarding bank of Gringott's had the facade of a large white stone building springing up from the ground, not unlike a snow capped mountain top, of several stories high. The large rounded stone pillars at the entrance stood slightly askew, akin to seasoned seamen on the rum at rough seas, looking to fall but sturdy in their stance. The intimidating building casting shadows over the grounds below.
The doorway of the bank was just as imposing as a set of large burnished bronze doors opened unto a small entrance hall guarding unto another set of large doors, only this time of solid silver. The Mikaelson's curiously stopping to read the inscription before going further.
Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn.
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there.
Niklaus smirked to himself at the words. He knew enough of Goblin's unto believing every word.
Upon entering the building proper, they were met with Goblin's everywhere. Some flanked the vast marble hall, standing as sentinel's with a watchful eye, as a hundred more were seated at the long counters that stretched the length of the magnificent hall.
It truly was a sight to see, and Niklaus was all the more pleased to be a part of the building's beginnings.
They had met the proud Goblin with the ambition as imposing as his building, that to which whom created the bank. Gringott himself, the goblin reminding Niklaus eerily of an Occamy, only decidedly more greedy.
The fair skinned Goblin was only but a stretch taller than a house elf with his long thin fingers and feet, a pointed hat perched upon his domed shaped head. His dark slanted almond shaped eyes peering up suspiciously at the Mikaelson's as he spoke.
He led them down the vast hall to an ornate office at the back corner of the bank. After gesturing for them to enter, he guided them through the procedure in order to assign them a family vault.
There was not all that many vaults taken as of yet, so the Mikaelson's were fortunate enough to have vault number Four for their family treasures and riches. They had also each selected separate vaults of their own. Niklaus choosing to take number Seven for himself.
Gringott had taken them upon magical carts down several leagues under ground through complex and interconnected passageways of rough stone, all propelled by the Goblin.
Niklaus was sure he may have been ill if he were human as they travelled far below faster than a canon blast from a side gun, around sharp curves and sudden turns, dips and upward lurches.
Finally coming to a halt once they reached the bottom of the cave like opening, they found the family vault to be a large private cavern of smooth polished stone, protected by a thick iron door, and enchanted with protection spells of the Goblin's own magics.
It was indeed impressive work that the Goblin's had accomplished, and Niklaus had been sure to praise the little creature of his achievement. It had been received with nothing short of pride, and extended into a starting friendship from creature to creature with an amicable handshake.
Once the business below ground was concluded, they had been returned to ground level and had asked about purchasing some land to call their own once and for all. Ready for anytime they were in the country.
Impressed as the Mikaelson's were with the Goblin's workmanship, they had commissioned a team of the creatures, at Gringott's' recommendation, to construct a castle worthy of a king.
The Mikaelson's had chosen a piece of land, or more over, an entire mountain. Breaching the border's of England and Scotland.
Niklaus wanted their castle to be half way along the south face of the imposing natural wonder, the Goblin's were expert miner's and had placed more than half the castle deep within the strong earth.
So proficient as they were with what they could do, along with the help of magic, it had only taken the Goblin's a year to finish the magnificently large castle.
The facade of the pale coloured stone was set facing the long cobbled path leading further down the mountain side, towards the large gate house that enclosed the imposing solid wooden gates. The Mikaelson's had lived in the gate house, a smaller resemblance to the castle proper. It had been fortunate that the Goblin's had been capable of building the temporary dwelling within a week from the beginning of the enormous undertaking.
The sibling's pleasurable anticipation helping in the construction, as they aided the creature's with their inhuman speed and strength, making the desire of a real home appear sooner rather than later as they watched their dream come to life before their eternal eyes.
Goblin Enchantments and spells were placed on the beautiful castle once it was finished, with the Mikaelson's adding to them over the years to come, they would only strengthen over time. Them being unable to perish, so too would the spells be unable likewise.
It was a relief to Niklaus to finally be on home soil, to have a dwelling of their own. A place safe from Mikael, and any else whom wish them ill will. It was something they had never really foresaw since being on the run so long, chasing whispers in the wind. Only they had not finished their quest yet. They required the Doppelganger also, to break Niklaus' curse.
But for now... they shall rest.
The last century had seen the Mikaelson siblings as Noblemen and Lady, it had gained them much with contacts from all over the world.
So it was no surprise to Niklaus, that after all these many long years of his waiting they had finally heard of a young woman that resembled whom Niklaus was looking for.
As the years had turned into centuries, it was becoming a more difficult endeavour for Niklaus to hold in his temper, his werewolf heritage making itself known as the moon waxed and waned in the natural cycle before it turned full.
The beast inside him desiring nothing more than to burst free from the confines of the curse. It was becoming more a necessity than ever before that Niklaus would confine himself to their castle at those times, lest he wish to slaughter the villages below.
Now that they were settled in England at the present, Niklaus and his siblings had been making acquaintances amongst Britannia's Nobles likewise, not one of them being any the wiser as to what they truly were.
They, on many occasions could be seen to host many a ballroom dance; much to Rebekah's delight, the village people going so far as to name them the waltzing family, the invited party consisting of villager's, Noble's, Vampires and Werewolves alike. Only the creature's knowing to whom they were sharing their company with. The human's, being none the wiser.
Building quite a reputation for themselves over the last decade had also saw them gain an array of loyal allies among the different species of the English Isles, and it was at one such dance, Rebekah insisting on a ball in celebration for Niklaus' 521st birthday, that Elijah had presented to him with the long awaited Doppelganger.
Niklaus was leaning against the wall watching his sister waltz across the floor with as much grace as a unicorn, he was in the midst of a conversation with a young Vampire named Trevor.
Sensing before seeing his brother approach, he was not surprised when he heard him speak. "Excuse me, my Lord Niklaus." Elijah said respectfully with a small incline of his head. "Please allow me to introduce you to the lovely, Katerina Petrova." He finished, the hint of a smile in his tone.
Niklaus was familiar with knew introductions by now, but as he turned to see to whom his brother was referring to, he was indeed surprised to see the face before him. Straightening in his stance, a half smile ghosted over his lips as he lifted her hand to place a kiss upon the soft skin.
"Indeed, it is a pleasure to meet you Miss Petrova." He stated softly. Raising an eyebrow with a tilt of his head, intrigued by the sense of a tremor he could feel travelling through her body as he spoke.
"The pleasure is all mine, My Lord." She replied with a shy smile as she offered him a curtsy, her dark red gown rustling quietly with the movement. "My Lord Elijah has forewarned me it is your birthday this very day."
"Indeed, it is My Lady, but I can assure you there is nothing in want of a forewarning." He lightly smirked, gifting her a quick wink. His dark blue gaze piercing her brown eyes as he gently released her hand.
Niklaus could smell her sweet blood as heat burned her pale complexion a soft pink. "I hope you will allow me to be so forward as to say I am not a Lady, My Lord." She blushed, her eyes glistened with evident shame as she lowered them.
Niklaus softly lifted her chin as he gazed at her. "It shall be all the same to me." He stated confidently, dismissing it easily with a half smile. Katerina looked at him with surprise as her brown eyes sparkled happily in the soft light. Niklaus' eyes briefly betraying him as he glanced down at her gown.
"Please excuse us while we allow you to acquaint to each other," Elijah interrupted, "It was lovely to meet you Katerina," He smiled, gracing the young girl with a small bow. "Come along, Trevor." He said, also gracing Niklaus a glance full of hidden meaning. Niklaus condescending to raise his eyebrow in response.
Katerina curtsied the departing gentlemen before Elijah ushered the young Vampire along with him as they walked away.
"May I offer you my hand for a dance, sweet Katerina?" Niklaus asked, the corners of his mouth curving up in a welcoming smile as he held his hand out for her to accept.
Blushing again, she smiled. "Thank you, My Lord!" She answered softly, briefly glancing over the grand room before placing her much smaller hand upon his bigger one.
Niklaus guided her to the ballroom dance floor, the crowd parting respectfully as he gracefully moved forward with the young brown haired girl attached gently to his hand.
Over the years Niklaus had become rather meticulous in a scrupulous manner when choosing any dance partner for the balls. Most often-times would see him merely resting himself against a comfortable stretch of wall as he observed his dancing siblings.
The act of dissociation from all else with the gall of gracing this distinct girl all evening, had no doubt the rest of the ladies feeling rather covetous, glancing at Niklaus with desire, all the while looking upon Katerina with contempt.
Niklaus deigned to ignored it all as he condescended to engage himself with charming the pretty young lady for the rest of the evening, quite literally sweeping her off her feet as the hours past them by.
Only a short few weeks had gone by since Niklaus had charmed his doppelganger, he felt inclined to say to himself a stint well done as he observed her infatuation with himself and more troubling... Elijah. Niklaus had entertained Katerina for the duration of her stay, only Elijah helping him when he was unreachable.
The two had become a slight too close for Niklaus' peace of mind, sharing many an afternoon together was producing a tentative friendship between them. Niklaus feared Elijah was becoming too attached to the young girl. Hoping that it shan't interfere with her true purpose, Niklaus shall have to be ever more watchful.
The time of the ritual to break his curse was nearing upon them, Niklaus' strong desire to have the quest fulfilled and his inner wolf truly awakened. As the next full moon was fast approaching, and was now only a mere few hours away, Niklaus was becoming restless as anticipation aroused within him in earnest.
Often-times he would feel his emotions an undulating cascade of impatient waves crashing through himself akin to being on a ship in a storm, his inner wolf howling to break free. Indeed it tended to make him aggressive at times and very much unpredictable.
Niklaus was storming through the halls of the castle, his anger was to boiling point and he was having trouble containing it from pouring over the edge of his patience in resemblance to a potion bubbling over the rim of a cauldron.
Reaching where he knew Elijah to be, he roughly opened the door. "Where is she?" He demanded angrily as soon as he entered the informal sitting room.
"To whom do you ask of, Niklaus?" Elijah asked, startled at the tone.
"To whom do you think, Elijah?" He growled, glaring at his brother fiercely as he slammed the door behind him.
Elijah only frowned in response. "I assure you I know not! Rebekah has departed for the village." He said as he rose to his feet, placing the book he was perusing upon the small table at the settee's armrest.
Within the blink of an eye, Niklaus rushed to Elijah and balled his tunic within his fists, bringing the man closer as he did so, "I am not speaking of Rebekah, I am speaking of Katerina." He snarled, the blue of his eyes blazing with fury, darkening them like the evening sky.
"I had surmised she was with you?" Elijah asked, wrapping his own hands around Niklaus' wrists before removing them with a strong tug, his brown eyes narrowed at Niklaus. "Had I known she was not, I ought to have been with her myself."
"I am certain you shall have been." Niklaus said softly, his expression hardening before walking to the writing desk below the window, looking upon the contents of the parchments scattered about it.
"What are you attempting to imply, Niklaus?" Elijah growled angrily.
"Where is she Elijah? I have seen the two of you becoming closer of these last weeks, and I am remiss if I shall think you shall betray me now the time has come, rather than to continue to assist in what shall be necessary?" Niklaus asked raising his eyebrow in question. His eyes being the only thing to betray how close to loosing his temper that he was for lack of control he was within it.
Elijah now knew what his younger brother was indeed implying. "Necessary indeed... I am in no desire of betraying you Niklaus, you are and shall remain forever my dear brother, I have made a promise to you and I intend to see it through, come what may." He answered as calmly as his worry would allow. "I will see to it she is found, I can not see her getting away too far as I only saw her this morning a mere hour ago walking amongst the gardens." He frowned, attempting to assure his brother as much as himself.
Niklaus peered hard at his older brother, seeing the truth in his words in contrast to the doubt in his demeanour. "I have never imagined you of all people betraying me Elijah, I shall accept your words for the sincerity in them as much as I shall my own with my belief in you only as strong, I need not stress the importance of finding her before twilight shall be upon us?" Niklaus asked with a sharpness to his tone, Elijah, no doubt was not accustomed to hearing it directed at him as a brief flicker of sadness haunted his face.
With a nod of assurance, Elijah pierced Niklaus' eyes with his own. "I shall gather a company of us and leave immediately, you have my word Niklaus, that I shall not rest until you are free of your burden, and that I shall never betray you." He promised vehemently. Niklaus nodded with gratitude.
He never trusted anyone for nought but only with his family, Elijah and perhaps Rebekah most of all above the rest, to be truthful he trusted no one completely but them. Kol was fickle in his free spirit, no matter how much he loved him, and Finn had already proven he shall never be trusted.
"I believe you Elijah, now please find her!" He said with urgency. His anger only slightly abated for the time being. His worry of his plans falling away like the dying leaves of Autumn intruding on his unsettled mind.
After centuries of searching for it only to crumble like an old ruin on the very same evening of his one chance to truly be himself completely, was indeed a burden Niklaus only dared hope he shall no longer have to carry.
Once Elijah had departed the room, Niklaus felt an urgent desire to check on the moonstone. Leaving the room himself shortly thereafter, he made his way to the hidden nook down in the castle's dungeon wall.
Upon reaching the large room, Niklaus quickly made his way easily in the darkness wrapping around him and pulled the loose stone from the niche in the cold wall. He placed his hand in the small opening only to feel nothing but empty air.
A ferocious growl erupted from deep within his chest, clashing with the violent turbulence of unimaginable fury, such as he had never felt before, his dark blue eyes burning brightly with unrestrained power and magic.
He forcefully threw the loose stone against the far wall, growling once more as it echoed loudly throughout the dungeon, leaving a large hole upon the face of the wall, the stone crumbling upon impact showering the dusty room with debris. 'It was unwise to have been such a gentleman with her and allowing her to roam free, a wiser man shall have seen her locked up in here!' Thought Niklaus as he marched towards the upper levels of the castle, his intentions of finding the doppelganger.
Niklaus left his horse behind as he chose to run through the forest surrounding the mountain in search of the wretched girl.
Knowing that once he got his hands upon her, he desired to make certain she suffered for her punishment of not only fleeing but that of stealing from him. His wrath she shall have no end of. He shall only wonder of the way in which she had known of her purpose to him.
They had searched all day and night but only to come up empty handed. To say Niklaus was furious shall not do it justice. His siblings could not bear to be in his company so had departed by means of hunting for the evening.
Hunting for sustenance or for Katerina, Niklaus knew not. Perhaps both, at the least on the account of Elijah and Rebekah. Kol shall only hunt both if it meant peace of his own mind from Niklaus' wrath.
In the time it had taken for his siblings to return, and at the behest of Niklaus, his loyal Vampire acquaintances departed in search for Katerina only not before he instructed them on how they shall contact him in the days ahead, leaving him enough time to pack a supply of all he shall need in order to hunt her down.
As soon as his family walked through the door, Niklaus imparted the truth that Katerina had indeed known that she was soon to die as she had also stolen the moonstone before she fled, and therefore he demanded they too pack what they shall need in order to accompany him with their help.
Elijah and Rebekah, understanding the urgency, and in keeping their promises, rushed to gather all they surmised they shall need. Kol, obliging to follow with but a few of his grumblings echoing in his wake.
Niklaus was furious to also be placed in a position for the necessity to depart their home and once again be on the run.
He distantly wondered if it shall ever cease to be the life for them, never having the allowance to settle in one place for too long.
In no time at all they were ready.
Entrusting the care of their horses to the charge of Elwin, the family house-elf, confident in the knowledge of his capable little hands.
Enchanting their home to accept none but themselves, they left quickly under the darkness of night, nothing but silent obscure figures under the stars of the sky, the full moon shining brightly as it urged Niklaus on. The wolf inside himself encouraging him forward with each step, inpatient to be free.
He knew not when they shall return, only that they shall.
And here we are at the end of chapter 4.
A.N: I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get this chapter out for you. I've been so busy these past few months, that I've barely had anytime for myself, let alone writing. I'm hoping to be able to dedicate half of my time to my story as much as I can, as I miss it tremendously. Not to mention I feel terrible for the delay in getting more of it out there for you all, at the very least for those of you whom are enjoying it.
Hope you liked it. If not, well... I'm sorry?!
It is a much smaller chapter than previous ones, but I felt it a good place to end it where I did...
Elwin I thought was a fitting name for the house-elf. The name Ailwin is based on the Old English personal names Alfwin, and Elwin, as well as a collection of other names containing the elements oelf, which means elf, and wine, which means friend. So in short 'Elf Friend' and even shorter 'Elwin' is definitely a great fit I think.
Please feel free to R & R...
