Patrick Patil had a lot on his plate. In a mere fortnight, he was going to become a father.

And that wasn't all. He was going to be the father of twin daughters.

With his twin girls due to come into the world so soon, Patrick figured he'd better get to work on choosing names for them.

Patrick was casually wandering around in his flower garden when he asked himself a fundamental question: Do I name my daughters based on giving them names whose meaning I connect with, or do I name them after important people in my life?

After walking about his flower garden and thinking it over for five minutes and five nanoseconds, Patrick decided to split the difference and take a one of each naming method approach.

Patrick, inspired by being surrounded by lotus flowers in his garden, felt suddenly inspired.

"Padma," thought Patrick to himself, "Padma means lotus. And the lotus flower is synonymous with purity and enlightenment.

Patrick felt he had hit a trifecta in coming to the choice to name one of his twin daughters Padma. He loved flowers and the name Padma meant lotus.

The lotus flower symbolized purity and the one thing Patrick hoped for more than anything else from his twin daughters was his hope that they would have pure hearts.

The lotus flower was also associated with enlightenment and Patrick strongly desired his twin daughters to be people who kept open minds about the world around them and thought outside the box.

The name Padma was both a flower name and a name that would have meanings relevant to the things he most wanted his daughters to be in both being pure hearted and

When he added it all up in his mind, Patrick was delighted, proud, and satisfied to have settled on the name Padma.

But Patrick's job was not done.

Patrick didn't have one daughter to name. He had two.

Patrick stopped and stood still to think about who the most important female people in his life were and which ones might most deserve to have a baby named after them.

And then Patrick thought of a kindly girl who had been a tutor of sorts to him at Hogwarts.

From the nanosecond he had started at Hogwarts, Patrick's best and favorite subject had always been Herbology. Had he been a muggle, his best and favorite academic subject would have been Botany.

On the other hand, in Patrick's early days at Hogwarts he had despised Potions and figured that if he were a muggle that he would despise Chemistry.

The reason he had loathed Potions so much was that he was hot garbage at making Potions, having been a genuine T student in the discipline.

Parvati Pot had been the female fifth year Ravenclaw prefect the year he had been a firstie.

Parvati heard about Patrick's struggles with Potions and offered to help him.

Parvati Pot was the runaway best Potion Maker at Hogwarts in her generation.

Parvati had offered to help Patrick improve his Potion Making by giving him private lessons four evenings per week on Monday through Thursday throughout the summer.

Patrick would live with Parvati's family over that summer so that she could work with him on his Potion Making skills.

To her credit, Parvati was a very patient teacher who was very honestly critical but in non-scolding manner.

She also didn't get frustrated when Patrick struggled with someone. On the contrary, Parvati would give Patrick encouragement and tell him that she knew he could do it.

Parvati shared everything she knew about Potion Making with Patrick, from how gentle to be with stirs to how fresh the ingredients needed to be.

With Parvati's tutelage, Patrick improved his Potions grade from T as a firstie all the way up to E. He wasn't the best at the subject, and he had no false delusions that he would become so. He had improved substantially and no longer had to feel embarrassed by his Potion Making skills.

"That's it," thought Patrick warmly, "My other twin daughter shall be named Parvati Patil. I must always remember how Parvati reached out to me and assisted me to the point I became actually good at the one thing I really sucked at. Parvati was very generous to share her knowledge and tips with me."

Patrick started to walk again feeling joyous and content.

His twin daughters would be called Padma Patil and Parvati Patil.

Padma Patil would represent Patrick's hope for pure hearted and enlightened daughters while also paying tribute to his love for flowers.

Parvati Patil would pay homage to a mentor who had sacrificed her time and shared her knowledge to help him go from the worst Potion Maker at Hogwarts to a having significantly above average Potions Making skills.

It was the best of both worlds.

Patrick felt warmth engulf his insides as he looked forward to that moment when his twin daughters would come into the world.

"I can't wait to hold you both, Padma Patil and Parvati Patil," smiled Patrick.
